We had a lovely dinner on the heated patio in the middle of December, all while looking out at Christmas lights on the nearby boats and apartments. Our meals were delicious and our server, Matt, was very helpful and attentive. All in all a great place to enjoy and recommend.

From beautiful views to wonderful service and delicious cuisine, this place checks all the boxes, especially if you are a seafood or sushi lover! Come for the unparalleled false creek views(patio)cool drinks or yummy meals, this place won t disappoint! Excellent experience. It s five star but also very cozy.. We were able to sit outside in December without feeling cold. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for what it is. Our server was amazing ( didn t catch the name but We had the table by the fire place on the patio). Great date night spot.

The food was overall pretty good. The atmosphere is spectacular. The service was also very good. We ordered several appetizers, one included the flatbread pizza. I must say it was terrible. Undeveloped dough; the cheese was . . . Well, was it cheese? . . . Other than that, everything was OK. Sablefish was cooked to perfection, but the rice was completely bland. So, it was a mixture of excellent and very mediocre. A strange experience in that regard.

Last weekend was my first time at the Sandbar Seafood Restaurant. It was a Christmas party, and we had reserved a private room. If I could give more stars, I would. The multi-course meal was excellent, plus a delicious dessert. A great selection of drinks as well, and the service was outstanding. Life music was a bonus. I highly recommend this restaurant. I definitely will be back.

My third time

I recently visited Sandbar and ordered their Traditional Eggs Benedict. While the overall dish was well-prepared, I was disappointed by one key detail the use of a biscuit instead of the traditional English muffin. This is mentioned in the menu description, but in my mind, a traditional eggs benedict should include the classic components. Unfortunately, the biscuit s mealy texture detracted from the experience, as it didn t complement the dish well. Everything else about the eggs benedict was good, but the biscuit s consistency made it far less enjoyable. I have responded to your email, and have not received a response. My review has been adjusted accordingly.

One of our my favorite seafood places in the city. Food is always delicious, service is great and the location is lovely. Great to hang out on Granville Island, and the food is so fresh and yet decently priced. Highly recommend.

The oysters are nice. The California roll is ok but the service is not so impressed tho. Asians are not so welcome I guess but the vibes is amazing

Its unfortunate that not very often we are able to leave a 5 star review. However we were very impressed with the food, service with Rhiannon was impeccable! from start to finish! A nice dinner outing with great food and service was what we were hoping for and you nailed it! Very impressed! Thank you for a great evening.

Wonderful place to relax during a Granville tour

Lovely ambiance (live music, fireplaces) and great food. Our server, Ronnie, was very kind and recommended the perfect dishes for our tastes. We will be back again to sit in Ronnie s section!

We had a company event here. The food was fabulous! I had king prawn cocktail, and ling cod for the main. The ling cod was to die for. Perfectly prepared, and so tasty. Our server Ronnie was just lovely!!

Delicious food with really great service and wonderfully caring staff.

Had brunch on Sunday. Very basic, little flavor, hollandaise was lacking in flavor and, eggs came hard poached, not soft and food was cool. The potatoes also lacked flavour. It took a long time for servers to come by. The non alcoholic cocktails were excellent and obviously the signature seafood dishes are fabulous. Maybe skip brunch dishes.

The food and services was exemplary and scrumptious - oysters, clam chowder, seafood bouillabaisse, crème brûlée, and truffle chocolate mouse. It was a wonderful evening!!

The size of the fish was small according to the volume it showed, most of it was coated. Thats why it was very oily. However, the fish was very fresh. The behavior of the waiters was excellent, and it was clear that they knew their job. It had a very beautiful environment. The taste of salad and fries was excellent.

The food was pretty good. Nothing very original on the menu, but well executed. The service was good too. Maybe a touch too casual for the price tag, but Im being nit-picky. The place is nice enough, especially at night with dimmed lights, but its starting to be a little aged. Overall, we had a good time, good food, and a place to keep in mind.

Our second time here for a family dinner, did not disappoint! Had the tuna sushi roll and the daily special. Our service was great, attentive and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere of this place, wonderful views of the water.

I went twice in 2 days and didnt have a reservation either time. I had the hot pot day 1 and it doesnt compare to getting whatever they have fresh and local which I had the second day. The service was great.

The vibe and service were great, and the seafood was fresh, especially the oysters. However, despite having an 8 PM reservation, they were already out of a few menu items, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, a nice experience, but I d recommend going earlier to ensure the full menu is available.

Great and quiet place for lunch - had appies here by the window.

The fried calamari and cod steak I ordered as appetizers were really delicious. (It may have been more delicious because it was a late lunch) They said there was no place in the market to eat it (even if you eat it, you have to watch out for seagulls, but I didnt want to go to that length of time to eat). The calamari was not just fried, but it was topped with onion seasoning, and the slightly spicy onion seasoning wasnt bothersome. The cod steak was slightly salty, but it was a great combination with the rice that came with it. The vongole, which I was most looking forward to, was delicious but seemed overly buttery. I was disappointed that if they had just added oil, the pasta would have been cleaner and more delicious than butter. When I try seafood, I worry that it might not be fresh or taste fishy, but it was so delicious.

Went to the Sandbar for lunch with family, and the service was good. The restaurant itself was its usual Westcoast chique, but the food! My seafood hotpot was OUTSTANDING! Not sure about everyone elses meal, as I was too enamored with mine. It is hands down the best item I have had on their menu.

A great harbour atmosphere. Super trained and professional staff. Excellent selection of seafood, fresh fish of the day. Asked for a custom longdrink and got in five minutes. The sirloin strip was delicious and well-sized with vegetables and sweet peppers aside. Prizing is according to outstanding quality. It was the best dinner during our 3-week-round trip. Well definetly come back to this place.

We had mussels and wok squid to start, both were fantastic especially the mussels, we didn t waste any broth! For entree we had seafood hotpot, linguine with clams and daily fresh halibut. All were beyond our expectations as the ingredients are fresh and cooked just right, so feel free to try anything on the menu if you are adventurous!

Came here for a special dinner with my partner and ordered the sablefish (that came with peppers, rice, and broccolini), the oysters, and the linguini vongole. Portions were on the smaller side (especially the oysters), but our server (Raj) was awesome and super attentive. They had a piano player and singer for some reason, so that was kind of cool, and we had a nice view of the water so that was a plus. Would recommend this place for a friendly outing but not a special occasion.

I have only been to this venue a few times but every time has been great ! the service has always been phenomenal and the food delicious, well-presented and perfect sized portions. The ambiance is also lovely: lots of wood and nautical theme but in an elegant way. The menu is not huge which is nice because the varied menu they offer has something for everyone and what they do offer they do well! The prices are a bit higher than an average establishment but this is a nicer venue. That being said, it is not over the top for the type of food and service. One can find from simple salads to lobster tails and halibut and a lot in between. Definitely worth eating here also because of the lovely venue and view: in the heart of Granville Island with False Creek adjacent!

Definitely our favourite place we visited while staying in Vancouver. Omar our server was so nice and made great recommendations for lunch. The sablefish was literally melt in your mouth just as he described it. The shrimp cocktail was the freshest I ever tasted. Drinks were delicious too. Wonderful spot for seafood, we came specifically to have the Dungeness crab and it did not disappoint! Service was great as well, I received a cake because we mentioned we were visiting Vancouver to celebrate my birthday-it was a lovely and unexpected touch.

Good food and location is awesome

Unfortunately not a positive experience. The fish was cold and seemed not fresh. Friendly staff, refunded our dish. I dont know if it was bad luck, but our experience was not positive.

A group of old friends had a celebratory dinner, on the rooftop. Our server was the Captain , who kept the food and drinks flowing.

Excellent food, servers attitude is great and the place is beautiful, especially the patio! A great experience every time I visit the Sandbar.

This is a consistent restaurant where I ve only had amazing experiences, I come here every year for my birthday with my family and close friends and it s so much fun. Recently came here for mine and my partners anniversary and they were so accommodating getting us a last minute reservation. Love love love.

Outstanding experience. Servers were wonderful, piano player was great, ambiance was lovely. I had the scallops with coconut rice and broccolini. The scallops were buttery and tender, slightly crisp sear on top. The coconut rice was fluffy and light, not overpowering coconut. I had the Empress 75 cocktail which I would pass on next time (kinda tasted like lemonade). And then the lemon tarte with raspberry coulis for dessert that was *heavanly* like a lemon bar meets crème brûlée.

The clam crowder,sushi and halibut were phenomenal,we had wonderful dinner with gorgeous view.

We had a lovely Friday evening with my family. They had a guitarist and he was incredibly talented. He really set the mood for everyone. I enjoyed all his songs he played and truly amazing! Our waiter was upbeat and friendly. He took our order and I was surprised how quickly our food arrived. Most of us had the linguine vongole, scallops, crab nachos, my niece had the seafood hotpot and the other kids ordered off the kids menu. Three words, FRESH, FLAVORFUL AND DELICIOUS! I truly had an amazing time last night. I loved how this restaurant catered to all types of groups, from couples to families or friends get together. Thank Sandbar - even my 75 - year- old dad had a fantastic time! We definitely will be back!!

Tonight was the most incredible night. It was our anniversary and Ronnie was everything we could have asked for and more. She walked us through the menu, had excellent recommendations that hit the mark every single time. Our margaritas were perfectly spiced - seriously you need to try the spicy mango marg, there are spice levels, do it - and the food was just as exquisite as the service. The truffle butter with the pan seared scallops will leave you drooling. The lobster tails were perfectly done, halibut was incredible, need I say more?! Ask for Ronnie, she is an absolute doll.

Hi I was at the restaurant a couple of weeks ago. We had the pleasure of being served by Tommy ( Captain). There was a party of 14 of us. Had the halibut and the sablefish - go for the first if you like a smoky chicken kind of texture & flavour, go for the latter if you like a rather creamy/fat texture & buttery flavour. As for the sides, they could have been a bit more seasoned but you can ask for salt & pepper. The host at the reception ignored us for a good minute until she looked up but her colleague then took over and from there service was perfect. We sat on the rooftop/upper level with a view over the water. I would say overall this place is really solid but you should be aware that it s kind of pricey and you definitely pay a good portion of the price for the location & the vibe. The food alone is pretty decent but doesn t justify the price I d say.

Menu is heavily weighted (as expected) with seafood but delighted to see a couple of deliberate PB choices. Luka brought us the most delicious salad with tofu. Only criticism is the incongruent music match to the clientele. Too much rock and too loud. Hardly anyone under 60 in the place and for lunch, was a little off putting.

After walking around Granville Island for the first time, my wife and I chanced upon the Sandbar, were seated immediately, and had a wonderful dinner of albacore tune and arctic char. Excellent fresh seafood and good service! I came to Sandbar after a whale watching tour and the restaurant took me in at 5pm without a reservation. I had the sablefish and fresh oysters. I had both malpeque and foxly oysters and I loved foxly. Very sweet oysters! While the sablefish was delicious and fresh, I would highly recommend this restaurant for the oysters!

The halibut was ok, though Ive had fresher. The link cod was good.

Food was super underwhelming considering the rating of this restaurant. Waitress rushed us our entire visit, got us out of there within 50 minutes, which wasn t nice at all because it was our anniversary and we wanted to enjoy our time. She wasn t nice at all, and didn t make us feel welcome. The food was okay . But for that price it should ve been excellent. I m super disappointed

An excellent venue. We liked it so much that we booked for the next night. Amber the waitress was extremely helpful and professional. As we needed some advice in regards to booking tickets to a Hockey game. Service was 1st class. Also thank you to the waiter who seated us both nights.Highly recommend this restaurant.

We came around 5pm on a Friday and were told there were only hightop seats available, which is understandable considering most of the open dinning tables might be reserved. The table was tiny, there were 3 of us and we weren t too hungry but it s was hard to move around once the food got there. We left a bit before 7 and most of the dining tables were still empty so I don t understand why we weren t even offered a more comfortable seating even for a limited time as an option. I have heard good things about this restaurant before but it was not a good experience for us this time. The sushi roll was served very loose and falling apart. Grilled halibut was very dry and the ahi tuna stack was bland. Our server was really nice, friendly and attentive, which is the only good thing about i can say about this place.

Okay I ve been living in Vancouver for decades yet never been to this restaurant. I thought it was about time to go. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The Poké bowl was great atmosphere was interesting and enjoyable.. lots of people watching. I d go again..

This was my only restaurant experience in Vancouver, so I dont have much to compare it to. Living in Europe and having traveled to many other places, I expected much more from this restaurant. The food was good but nothing extraordinary or unique. The oysters were extremely small and tasted like water. The cod was okay; their use of spices, grilled vegetables, and rice lacked imagination. Nothing was bad; it was simply okay for the $100 I paid. Had a late lunch here, and we really liked it. We travel plenty for work and have lived in lots of places, so we see a ton of different ways (good and bad) to have fish and seafood aside from what s on our pix, we also had oysters and muscles - which got eaten too fast to take a photo of Although a bit small, the oysters were good and very fresh! We enjoyed everything else as well, and wish we were staying here longer to be able to go back. Thanx!!

It is hard to find negative reviews of The Sandbar and we were very excited to try it on a recent trip to Vancouver. Reservations were limited on a Friday and we reserved seating for 3 people at 5pm. We really underestimated the time it would take us to get from our hotel to The Sandbar and had just boarded the Aquabus at 5. We called and told then we would miss our reservation and that we understood they would need to seat another group and not wait for us. The hostess on the phone said she would keep the reservation and for us to check in with her and see what they could do. This seemed unusual but very kind. We arrived about 5:30 and saw a hostess who had no idea what we were talking about and said our reservation had been cancelled. We were a bit disappointed but I had thought originally this would be the case . We got on the standby list and walked around the area (which is a great way to spend 45 mins. Very cool area.) 45 minutes later we got a text that our table was ready. At the hostess station we checked in and a woman with a nametag reading manager told us in a voice way too loud and peppy, Just so you know there is a 2 hour limit on dining with us tonight. Ive been to a lot of restaurants in a lot of places and this had to be one of the tackiest policies (and delivery) Ive heard. Manager, that is your job. Make sure the service is attentive and efficient and no one wants to be seated at a restaurant for 2 hours. There are many ways to accomplish this (stop checking in, stop filling waters...) without announcing the time limit. Really tacky.. We were seated on the patio and the night and this was fine. The weather was nice and we missed our reservation so were happy to take what there was. The patio was crowded with larger groups (and so many young children just plugged into ipad devices or phones. Awful but a topic for another time.) Our server had a nametag captain but was Tommy and he was very good- warm and attentive and knew the menu. We liked him a lot. We ordered salads, 2 salmon dishes and 1 Ahi tuna. Both salads were excellent and one was split without any hassle. The sockeye was fresh and pretty good. The Ahi was, and there is no other way to put it, really lousy. It tasted old and was overcooked and the sauce on it was not what it needed to be. That diner was very disappointed. So overall, we expected something really fantastic and it was just OK. The tacky policy and poorly prepared Ahi were memorable (in a bad way) but the server, salads and the dining space were great.

Everything about this restaurant is a big WOW! When our group of 11 people arrived we were very politely greeted and shown to our table. The atmosphere is warm, well decorated and inviting being by the water it was very pleasant to the eyes to see outside through all the huge windows. Nice music was playing throughout our supper and sometimes later at night they have an actual pianist playing for our enjoyment. We ordered drinks to start, then appetizers. - « Signature WOK squid » was very tasty with just the right amount of bather but the sauce was extra spicy so be careful with it. The main course were: - « Alderwood grilled Sablefish » It was so fresh & tasty, every bite melted in my mouth. - « Cedar Plank Salmon » The salmon was cooked to perfection and it was delicious. Accompanied by coconut rice and vegetables. - « Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl » My daughter eats poke bowls everywhere and this was her favorite one ever. Beautiful mix of vegetables and rice but especially lots of Tuna included. - « Chocolate truffle cake » Very tasty and soft. - « Crème Brûlée » Very good and well done. Tasted close to the ones I ve had in Paris. The service was fast, efficient and very polite. They were very proactive to all of our needs even before asking for something. Happy hour mussels were so bad

The view and the vibe is really good. The food is good, not surprising though. We had a seafood platter (don t remember what it is called) with a lobster on the top layer and 12 oysters on the lower one. The oysters were a bit small but tasted good. The lobster and the crab tasted blend. The lady who served our table was very attentive to us. Very nice. A guy collected the platter which had become two layers of icy water by then, a bit carelessly. The two layers of water were splashing all over the table, a bit on our jeans. Interesting to see though.

Had an interesting experience at Sandbar. We had a reservation and were seated upon arrival, but when we had requested a window table (empty) the host staff were not willing to accommodate. We really wanted a table by the window but for some reason we were not able to be given one as they had another reservation assigned , yet sat empty for the first hour we were there- disappointing. Our server, Trevor, was the highlight of the experience with his great knowledge and he went above and beyond to recognize our celebration. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the service as our starter was very undercooked. we both went with fish options for our main and somehow both ended up with different portion sizes, different presentation, dirty plates, and one of the dishes came out lukewarm while the other piping hot again, disappointing. The food tasted okay and we were hungry so did not want to wait for any changes. Besides our fantastic server, the meal was disappointing especially given the very high price and the standard that we expected as we frequent the partner restaurants seasons and Carderos unfortunate given that we were celebrating a big occasion and it did not live up to expectations

Loved everything about this place! We had a table by the window with the view . The food and the service were great. The sushi chef studied for over 10 years and you will really taste the difference from other places. Sable fresh was melting in the mouth. Parking: Came on the water bus

This is such an excellent seafood and sushi restaurant! The Sushi Chef is amazing, we ended up ordering twice what we usually eat, and finished it all. All the fish was full of flavor. We also ordered the sablefish and oh boy was it delicious. It may be on the expensive side but it was absolutely worth it. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helps you pick the right dish. Would definitely return to this restaurant in the future.

Very disappointing. The sushi was a joke. Huge pieces, rice-heavy but with tiny amount of fish. The eel roll barely had any eel in it, it was hidden between thick layers of rice. The pieces in the signature roll were crazy huge and falling apart when you have them in two bites. Japan would be embarrassed that it was called sushi. The green beans were way too spicy. The grilled salmon was okay. Brace yourself for a slow service we waited 20 mins to place an order and then 40 more minutes for it to arrive, the starter arrived last. The place was too loud for a sit-down restaurant.

Characteristic place, warm and welcoming, good and fast service! Fish specialties but also much more! Superlative grilled lobster and crab! Must try!!! Well done!!

There were 8 of us in our party, and they were able to seat us at a round table so we could all easily chat with one another. The waiter was attentive and mindful of the timing we needed to make the play we were seeing in Vanier Park. I had the seafood hot pot, and it was to die for! The curry was absolutely delicious, as was the bread that accompanied it. This delightful restaurant is one that should not be missed if you are visiting Granville Island.

Everything is perfect from the food to the service. We known this resto from google since we r from Toronto, and its absolutely fantastic. Will come back again!!!

Had dinner tonight without a reservation, Tent was packed Received a waiting time of 45 minutes No problem for us this beautiful Friday evening After just 30 minutes we received a text message that our table was ready Neat reception on the first floor with harbor view Tasty starter; crab cakes really great Then fresh salmon and tuna Perfectly cooked, one of the best this holiday trip through Canada! Then a delicious dessert Creme brulee and blueberry cake with ice cream All in all a great evening Truly a gift!!!

We showed up at 2pm on Saturday. Got a window table and had a great experience. Max was our waiter and he was knowledgeable and helpful. We had tuna and halibut which were delicious. We then had blueberry pie which was excellent. Fun to sit and watch the action on the river. We will be back.

Good atmosphere. Server was great. Food was good. Kids enjoyed it a lot! Update: The have updated/change the menu and the whole theme of the restaurant. None of the favourites that we used to order. They ve got a sushi bar now. But we didn t order off the sushi menu this time, but will definitely try it next time we re there. The new menu/food was excellent, we ordered off their happy hour menu. Well worth the price. Service was good. Had skepticism about the new menu at first, but after the tasting, it was ok. We will go try the sushi next time.

Visiting Vancouver for a few days and was recommended to come here, the host Jack and was so funny for the seconds we interacted with him. We got an amazing seat on the patio and our server Mitch was amazing as well, checked in at the best times and was super impressed with the service. The food was incredible as well, I recommend the crab cakes!

4 of us went for lunch and sat on the patio. We had the burger, Thai salad and eggs Benedict. All meals were just ok, average at best. My burger wasn t great, burnt and dry, fries below average. Atmosphere was nice, service just ok. Probably wouldnt go back again for a meal. Was expecting more.

Our first evening in Vancouver and we simply reserved a table based on the other reviews. We werent disappointed. The food (mussels and fish) was very good and the atmosphere - despite the large room - was very pleasant with wood, cozy lighting and unobtrusive live piano playing. The service was friendly and attentive. The location is great. Anyone coming from downtown should definitely take the Aquabus, for example from Hornbystreet across False Creek. It only takes a few minutes (instead of walking over the bridge for longer) and is an experience, even if it is not free. The last crossing back to downtown for us was 10:25 pm. So you have time.

The food was great! Trevor was greater.

The servers were very friendly and the food was very delicious. Clam chowder soup, spaghetti, hamburgers... The kids loved all the food I ordered, and I also enjoyed it very much. I recommend it for special occasions like birthdays! Since the location is within Granville Island, it was great to take a walk around Granville Island after eating. However, parking was a little difficult

Looking for good seafood after getting off the boat? We found it at the Sandbar. We sat next to the water on the patio. Both the Red Truck and the 1516 beers were good. From the crab cakes appetizer to caesar salad to a lobster tail to the main course, wood fire tuna to a tasty chocolate torte slice, everything hit the spot. Very nice.

OVERPRICED AND A TOURIST TRAP !!!! Went there and ordered mussel as our appetiser, first bite I took I felt like I ate the beach, mussels were filled with sand, this is literally the sandbar. Then there is the crab which is tasteless( can t taste the freshness of the crab). Not to mention there is no service, server didn t refill our water and had to wait ages for the bill. The best part was the grilled vegetables and I appreciated the live music.

Excellent food with a great atmosphere. My wife had the wood fire mushroom pizza and I had the sushi sashimi plate. Both were excellent. We sat at the bar and Tyler served us. He was superb! Great service and he also took time to explain some areas for us to sightsee. Food

Service was very helpful and kind, but my main (grilled salmon) was slightly overcooked, even though I asked for medium. The atmosphere and the live music was nice. Prices slightly too high in my opinion.

Amazing food choices, the appetizers and main courses are great for sharing different taste palettes. We ordered hummus, clam fettuccine, peanut noodle prawn salad, spicy wok fried green beans and bread, which was a perfect combo for the family. Servers are great but compete with each other like a game;D Beautiful view and music.

This is the most excellent seafood restaurant in Vancouver I highly recommend it because our bus driver the tour guide said that he knew that this was the best seafood restaurant, my girlfriend had the Surf and Turf and she enjoyed every bit of it her seafood and her steak were both perfect and she was so very happy with it and I of course had my favorite thing which was dessert I had the Belgium Chocolate Pudding and I will tell you that was the most wonderful Belgium chocolate I have ever had I would like to thank the restaurant for their great service and great teamwork I would like to thank them for their time talent and energy yes they are very much appreciated and valued so if youre ever in Vancouver and you want the best youll receive it there thank you again so very much. Im so sorry I did not get any photographs, but like I said them meals we were served were looking so good that I just drove right in, and so did my girlfriend.

Ambiance was lovely and the location was great. For the price of the dishes, we werent WOWed by anything. We ordered the gochujang chicken wings and the rainbow roll to start. Both were delicious and probably the highlight food wise. Dinner, I got the linguine vongole and my husband ordered the NY striploin. They were both very mediocre. My husband said, had he not got the demi glaze on the side, his steak had next to no flavor. The pasta wasnt anything special either. For the price of the dishes, we expected much more. Glad we tried it but will pass next time.

This place is unreal. Its definelty a special occasion spot but its worth going all out. Our server Trevor was unbelievable. People always get free stuff when they complain, but Trevor should get free stuff for his amazing service. Trevor made my birthday an unreal experience and I will be back. I will also make sure all my friends who visit Vancouver make this spot a must visit. Thank you Trevor, thank you Sandbar.

Hubby and I always make it a point to visit the Sandbar whenever were in town, and our recent visit was exceptional! We had such a memorable server, Mitch. He was incredibly attentive, remembered details, and was extremely helpful, making our experience one of the best weve had in 6 years! Not to mention his recommendation of the sablefish absolutely delicious! Yummy all around. We can t wait to come back again.

This is my first time in the restaurant. The food was amazing. The servers Noura and Tisha were very kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly with the kids. Won t be my last visit of course. Very recommended resturant

Had dinner here with work colleagues and we enjoyed our experience here. The location and restaurant itself has an awesome aesthetic with the boat inside and decor. They had live entertainment with someone singing and playing the piano. It has plenty of seating space and the waiters were great. The tuna app was unreal! I couldve had that all evening but proceeded with the Pan Seared Artic Char with potatoes instead of rice. The fish tasted delicious and the potatoes were great! As someone who enjoys seafood, this was one of my favourite spots.

Sept 2023 Had an amazing meal thanks in part to our wonderful server Montana. The dinner service was at a perfect pace, didn t feel rushed. Our main meals were Sable fish and Arctic char To sum up our evening delicious June 2024. We had another amazing meal at The Sandbar on this trip. We opted for muscles as a starter and the Dungeness Crab for our mains, Crème Brûlée and a Blueberry bread pudding for dessert (special for the evening) it was very expensive but oh so delicious. Thank you Raj for the wonderful service. We will see you next trip

This is my one of the favourite places to eat. My last visit, service was excellent and food was good the only reason I m giving a 3 star is because I find the system they use to buss and reset the tables very unsanitary. Watching the busser putting clean set if cutlery on the chair where people sit on and remove dirty dishes and placing dirty dishes in the chair and not washing hands while handling clean set of cutlery it s just disgusting. Vegetarian options: Mushroom flatbread, green beans, salads

Had early dinner at Sandbar and was seated by the window overlooking the bridge and water. Service was great with a nice variety of seafood and meat selections.

Went to watch a bit of the Euros and Max gave me some of the best service I ve ever gotten! Super knowledgeable and personable, he had great recommendations when it came to wine and beer. Made the whole experience 10/10

Calamari and sablefish in miso sauce was delicious. Lobster was undercooked. Our server Dream was very helpful.

Ronnie was our server and she was so great!!! Food was 12/10, and the service and atmosphere is awesome can t wait to come back.

Love that this restaurant is tucked away from most of the foot traffic of Granville Island. Their non-alcoholic drinks were tasty and hit the spot. The food did leave a bit to be desired. My group shared the margarita pizza and mussels did leave a lot more to be desired. My partner who got the kusshi oysters which were local said they were fantastic though.

Best place to eat

The oysters, halibut, scallops, sushi and cheesecake were all phenomenal! The views from the rooftop were amazing! We had a wonderful meal with gorgeous views and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area!

This spot has two of the best table in the city. ( That possess magical views true Vancouver vibes one is on the patio and the other is in the west side window on the upper lounge. Everyone is awesome and kind who works here. Its a vibe just chill and enjoy

I like the location because it feels like Vancouver, the menu is diverse, and there are a variety of seating options. Granville Island in the evening is quiet and nice. We guarantee you great shots of your life. The kids menu is not recommended.

The clam chowder we ordered had a sour taste, but the server insisted it is ok. NO THATS NOT OK. We had clam chowder many times and this is not right, and they refused to change the dish! The pizza and linguine tasted awful too! What s wrong with the chef today??! We were very disappointed with their food and service

We were put on the waitlist as it was a busy time. I told the lady at the front desk we were 4 adults and 2 kids. After waiting for an hour we were told the table wasnt suitable for kids

Super poor accessibility. Disabled folks need to share an old elevator with staff taking garbage down or moving dishes etc. I cannot stand for too too long and walk with a cane. Told the lady checking people in I had been waiting for the elevator for 12 minutes and I could not stand for long. All I was told was I cannot stop what I am doing and go check - did not even offer me a place to seat to provided any explanation. Pretty humiliating to get to this point when simply trying to go out for dinner. 5 minutes after the elevator came with the garbage. Pretty horrible experience despite the fact that when one gets up there, the place looks nice. You charge enough. Start caring about your disabled patrons. Nobody should have to feel unsafe or at the point of collapsing to go out for an expensive dinner.

Excellent food. I had yellow tail mogoru shashimi. It was fantastic! Very flavorful. The oysters were amazing.

Take the elevator or walk up the stairs. Its worth it. A wide open beautiful space awaits you. Nouva greeted us with a smile and promptly escorted us to our table. She was quite pleasant and checked on us frequently to make sure we had water or extra pita bread for the delicious humus appetizer we ordered. My Mediterranean Chicken Salad was delicious and was a generous size. My wife got a beet salad that she raved about. Paul, our waiter, made good conversation as well as good conversation. The public marketplace here is fun and fantastic. But when you want to sit in a real chair or booth, and be waited on while sitting down, this is the restaurant to go to.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the sound of gentle waves and a warm, inviting atmoshere.The menu at The Sandbar is a seafood lovers dream come true. I couldnt resist starting with the oysters on the half shell, which were incredibly fresh and served with a zesty mignonette sauce. For my main course, I opted for the seafood platter, which included a delightful mix of shrimp, scallops, and perfectly grilled fish. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and the portion size was generous without feeling overwhelming.

We had a lovely experience at The Sandbar Seafood Restaurant. Gorgeous views and very delicious, straightforward seafood. We highly recommend the sablefish, which had a really lovely miso-based marinade. The crab and spinach artichoke dip was also delicious. Service was wonderful and very attentive!

Took my wife on our first date 18 years ago and been coming back ever since,can t say enough good things about this restaurant the old manager Ron was amazing! Wen recently went on my wife s birthday. I told the hostess it was my wife s birthday. They gave us a phenomenal seat by the water our server, Sam, one of the best servers we ve had was awesome! Food was great. Also, after when we were leaving, had a chat with an another server Trevor and what a great guy, very personable and Friendly management is doing a phenomenal job with their staff. sandbar restaurant is one of the best we ve ever eaten at for food service atmosphere. I will continue to go back until I m not able to go back anymore. Joe forte is a close second thanks Sandbar. Keep up the good work.

Spacious restaurant with nice ambiance. Great variety of menu items that has something for everyone; reasonably priced too considering the location and portion size. While everything we ve ordered was delicious, but I highly recommend the seafood boil especially if you re a big seafood fan, as this has a bit of everything. Reminds me a bit of The Crab Pot in Seattle. Parking: Paid parking until 10 pm. But it s slightly discounted after 6pm, at $1/hr

One of my favorite spots on lower mainland. Everything is exceptional in my opinion. Sable fish is next level, dont mess up like me and order something else on your first visit, get fish and get hooked.

Ive been here many times. The environment is comfortable with a nice view, and the food is pretty good too.

The halibut and the sea bass were both cooked perfectly. The service was efficient. The atmosphere overlooking English Bay is wonderful.

Nestled under a bridge, you can watch the water taxis ply the waters around Granville Island. We enjoyed our meal here very much.
