A contemporary play on surf and turf, indulge in an array of fresh-caught Pacific Northwest seafood, savour a sumptuous selection of specialty steaks, and experience an elevated sushi and raw bar—all from a richly designed, one-of-a-kind dining space.
I visited recently for a business meeting dinner and enjoyed their Sirloin with many of the separate sides (brussel sprouts. mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad). Their drink selection was great and make a good Old Fashioned with different choices of good Bourbon.Overall I found it quite nice but a tad too expensive. The service was excellent 👌
We visited The Victor on a Saturday night. The rib cap was excellent, and the truffle cannelloni—though a small portion—was flavourful and tasty. Sides like mashed potatoes and roasted broccolini were delicious, and you need to order them separately. The cocktails, however, lacked any special touch and felt pretty basic. Overall, good food and attentive service, but the drinks could use more personality.
The service truly stood out, as our server was not only attentive and friendly but also offered excellent recommendations for both wine and cocktails. The food, while moderately priced for the quality, had some standout dishes. The shrimp cocktail was superb. The Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were absolute highlights—so much so that I left wanting the recipes for both. However, the steak, while cooked well, fell a little short of expectations in terms of flavor, and the crab didn’t feel like great value for the cost. While a few dishes didn’t meet my expectations, the overall experience, was highlighted by the excellent service and lovely atmosphere.
Came back to the Victor for our third time, this time for dinner with the family. Unfortunately the service was not great this time around. Our server was difficult to track down and slow to bring up our request for water and the bill. When the staff initially sat us down they didn’t leave behind a drink menu which slowed everything down right out of the gate. Overall, it feels like the service level has declined over the years. At their prices there are plenty of other restaurants in the downtown core that you can go to for the same food and better experience.
I love the setting, service and quality of most of the food, but wasn’t impressed with the lack of variety at the buffet for the price. There was only the one salad and three types of sushi. The fresh fruit was nice, but there were no berries and it would have been nicer if there had been an assortment of cheese. As for the dessert and pastries, they were decent, nothing to rave about except for the shortbread cookie that was quite good. I also liked that the candy station had almond chocolate barks (white and milk chocolate). The prime rib and roasted brussels sprouts at the carving station were the best and the made-to-order entrees were very good (we can only choose one). We were surprised that tea is an extra charge when coffee is not. We parked at Costco because it was a Pride event and the cost of the hotel parking was sky high - no $4/hr as on non-event days.
Did dinner here. Food is good, not great. Service was excruciatingly slow. We were left on our own for extended periods of time. No checking in on us. No drink orders. Pretty terrible. I made sure to leave a decent tip so the restaurant doesn’t respond with a snarky comment about me being cheap and covering up their horrible service and hiding behind that comment. As for the food… we ordered the Free Range Chicken, the Bluefin Tuna Experience, and the Gringo Salmon. The food was admittedly good, no faults there, but not amazing, just up to standard and good quality. If you don’t have time to explore Vancouver and want to experience the taste and high standard of the city, this is a good spot. The hummus really doesn’t work with the Shishito peppers in my opinion, but it’s a matter of taste.
Food is not bad, not what I expected. Service is good. Interior is nice, has a nice patio. Nova Scotia lobster is kind of deceiving as it has added prawn inside, and lobster meat is not much. Wine menu is good. Sushi is expensive but quite good.
The steakhouse at happy hour offers a good variety of small dishes. We tried almost everything on the menu, and each dish was great. The cocktail options were nice, although they leaned towards the sweet side. The serving staff was friendly, although there were a few instances where they forgot or delayed a couple of items, requiring a reminder. Overall, it's a nice place to splurge occasionally, even though it's not cheap for happy hour.
Good steaks, good service.
Had a blast there. Great place for a function.
Went there for anniversary the service and atmosphere were great. However, the food was average nothing that you can t find in any other Vancouver restaurant
What a classy place! I love the entrance
Extremely disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend. They DO NOT sanitize their tables (hello covid)! The restaurant only had 6 tables occupied when we arrived. We requested to sit on the patio as well, but was denied so instead the host gave us the worst seats in the restaurant. We sat facing the communal table where all the staff gather their supplies and punch in their receipts. My date and I ordered the dine outside dinner experience and typically, you order all three meals at the beginning. As I was about to order the dessert, our waiter cut me off while speaking and rudely said You can order that later and proceeded to take my dates order. Food tasted good but service was nonexistent. We were never once asked how our food tasted. We waited at least 20 minutes to have water after our waiter went to refill it, he forgot, and so the manager had to do so (twice). There is absolutely no reason as to why our service was terrible as we sat right in front of the communal table where the staff all gather. We saw staff joking and conversing with each other, with absolute no attention to their dining guests. When the manager went to refill our water, while holding the bottle she asked us Would you want to fill your own water, or do you want me to do it? which made us feel extremely uncomfortable as we would expect the water to be poured since she was holding it in her hand. After an awkward pause, I said I guess not and she decided to pour it. The worst part of this entire experience was that my date and I saw a couple sit at a table nearby and place their used masks onto the table. After about 15 minutes, the host reassigned them to another table. Their original table was not sanitized, wiped down, cutlery was not replaced or anything! We saw in horror and disgust that our waiter simply rearranged the cutlery so it looked like no one sat there previously. Disappointing and disgusting. We will not be returning. Ever.
This restaurant is so good
Great date night Try the beef wellington. Food
Staff kinda off..... Maybe just a bad day ... Food was Great
We had a large party for our company Christmas dinner. What a bad night to have it. It was Swiftie night and was a zoo. On top of it the restaurant played Swiftie music all night. They did turn it down a little when we asked though and apparently we were not the only one. Our server was AWESOME. Food itself was okay. I dont think this place is suggested for a large party and family style. Id say max family style is 6 or 8 people. Hamachi, sushi and Gf cake were underwhelming. Mushrooms and brussel sprouts were great. Steak was too. The sablefish itself was nice however the accompaniments were again underwhelming. The rice cake was too hard to eat. The bak choy was bland and undercooked. Cheesecake was great and so were the doughnuts. All in all I dont know wed be back. It just was too noisy and busy for what we are looking for. Conversation was too hard. I feel food wise there are great choices elsewhere.
You might want to prebook in case it s busy. Great food, nice decor, knowledgeable staff. The menu has a good selection of dishes. Meals are on the pricey side but you re getting a good dish. Make sure you ask for pepper. They have a huge black pepper grinder. Wish I had one.
Went here for my bday last July with friends and super loved it. We tried getting a table on Christian s section (he always serve us and he is fantastic) but unfortunately he was busy last night and ended up with Chico (I hope i got his name right). He is phenomenal! My friend wants a drink that she had on D6 and Chico went above and beyond to cater her request and have smth similar. Will definitely come back
It was our first time coming to The Victor, we had a great time and great food, thanks to our server Molham for making great food and drinks recommendations. Definitely will be back soon :)
Went here for dinner, and service was fantastic. To me, the steak wasnt really anything special and was surprising considering the price tag. Overall was just okay
Wednesday night theres three live singers and a pianist ! Was a great night out.
Atmosphere and service were great We had dinner and brunch here, both were wonderful Food
I would say that al dishes here is so awesome. All of them were plated nicely, high-elevated food.
Been here a few times , always great ! Sunday Prime Rib was amazing and whoever thought of Crème Broulee doughnuts , genius !
They have a great happy hour and Disco Brunch
Great environment, super busy for concerts and evenings but must try. Variety of food like sushi, steak, veggies. Mac and cheese waffles were good. Ordered hamachi didn t come, sushi was ok - had the spicy tuna and salmon, nothing to rate about. Come here for the environment.
The worst dining experience I ve ever had in Vancouver. The food was mediocre, and the male server who attended to us was extremely rude. The first thing he said was, Tap water, right? Excuse me? I ve dined at some of the most expensive restaurants around the world and have never encountered such treatment. Train your servers better and teach them not to be cocky with customers.
Sunday Brunch Buffet The A La Carte offerings were quite good, the buffet, not so much. Very few choices, carrot sticks with hummus, Caesar salad, fruit (the watermelon was soft), maki sushi (very basic), breakfast pastries, cookies and smores... The prime rib, sausage, and ham were good.... and thats basically it. For a la carte, we ordered the Chicken and Waffles (very good), Bananas Foster French Toast (good, but my god, its a THICK piece of bread), Crabcake Eggs Benedict (good amount of crab), and Poke Bowl (lots of tuna). Oh, and there was a table of candy. The A La Carte items were well done, but we were somewhat disappointed in the mediocre-ness of the buffet offerings. Especially the lack of dessert items. Service was friendly, and the place looked very nice.
Ive had both the Spoils of Sunday brunch buffet and dinner, and honestly the quality and execution of both were underwhelming and not up to the supposed calibre of this restaurant. Service wasnt particularly attentive or enthusiastic, I get the feeling that this place is run by half-hearted management and has gone downhill from what it once may have been. You can tell when the offerings are great in concept and theory but poor in execution.
Mathew is an excellent waiter and made this visit pretty near perfect. Food was served hot (pre warmed plates do help), and it was prepared perfectly. Flavorful, interesting textures, all that you could want. Some of the wine was a little off, but they rectified it quickly. We held my fiancés birthday celebration there in the private room. Matthew was the lead waiter, and it was a wonderful success. Great service, flavorful food served at the right temperature with really interesting textures. It was a perfect night. Dietary restrictions: Excellent glutinous awareness. Most seafood and desserts are glutin free.
Foods are mid The service sucks, toooooo slooooooow The receptionist cant show a genuine smile The ambiance was really great Even saw a server instead of serving the alcohol right away, he paused at the moment and had a little chat with the other server.
Vegetarian options: Vegetables are fresh and so good. Recommended dishes
I rarely give five stars to any one restaurant. I loved everything about The Victor, I had this Sunday dinner prime rib which was one of the best steaks Ive ever had cooked for me to perfection plus it offered other options with the meal, the service was awesome, lovely and attentive. Music played in the background wasnt too loud wasnt too soft it was a great for conversation and for space in between while eating. Thanks for loving evening. Hope to check out the sushi bar next time Kid-friendliness: Play will ask you about allergies they have high chairs for your children and the service is very attentive around children to what Ive seen Wheelchair accessibility: When making reservations let them know that you require wheelchair space and they will make sure that its available to you at your convenience
Took my mom here for her birthday, and the level of service really has declined over the years. This used to be restaurant my family frequented for special occasions. Unfortunately our server Jonathan didn t seem welcoming and just did the bare minimum which is strange for a higher end restaurant. Shout out to the service assistants who far kinder and attentive to our table. Not sure if we will coming back anytime soon.
The food was great! Our server Molhan was attentive and was always checking in with us! Will come again
The Staff and food was amazing we had 6 of us and 2 celebrations and they made the night so special! This is the special desert they made omg was so good with creme Brule donuts under cotton candy and a whisky cake...we will def be back! Thank you!!
Fantastic dinner. Very pleasant evening on the outdoor patio. Had wonderful service from Molham, who offered excellent advice on food and wine pairing. The Wagyu steak and lobster was perfectly prepared. The server was also very accommodating and informed about our food allergies and preferences. Highly recommend if you are looking for quality food and exceptional service! Ask for Molham! Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly
Really cool atmosphere, classic and elegant but also has a trendy edge to it. Loved the service and drinks as well. Everything was great except the food. The crème brûlée was sub par and watery. The whiskey cake was bland. All in all, not worth the food cost
Went for Sunday prime rib brunch and loved it! Would highly recommend.
Was visiting Vancouver and stayed next door at the Douglas. They raved about the sushi at Victor so I had to check it out. Appetizer was 2 of every fresh oyster they had and two of them were beyond amazing while being completely different. Can t remember their names but would recommend trying the fresh oysters. My dad had the lobster bisque with crab in it and he said it was probably one of the best he s ever had (which is saying something) so would recommend that as well. Where I was let down was the sushi. They offer a sashimi omakase at under 50 dollars (that made me leery to order) but figured I had to try it as their nigeri and sashimi were limited. I did order the salmon, uni, and ikura (off menu) nigiri and those were very good, with the uni coming from Japan and being extremely well priced. The omakase came out and the runner that dropped it off said here s your sampler platter and that s exactly what it was. Definitely not omakase as it was nothing special on it (well maybe the scallops but not close to an omakase serving. It was ok for 10 pieces but I would have rather just gotten the tuna sampler (otoro, chu toro, and regular) which was 2 pieces of each for the same price. The crème brûlée was a bit odd tasting as it seemed as if they melted some jam on top of the sugar before they crystallized it. The custard also had an odd taste. My dad got the risotto special (it s what is on the normal menu but also had a bit spicy prawns), and again, he raved about it. He got the ganache as a dessert and gave it a c- mainly due to the cherries ruining the taste for him. Main drink was a bottle of Moet and Chandon and you can t go wrong with that. The waiter sold us on trying to local wines so we tried those with dessert and neither one is anything to write home about. I did see a magnum of Tiganello which made my mouth salivate but sure the price point would be stupid expensive. Service was really good but it took way too long to get the main course (over 30 minutes) and we were eating at 6:30. Appetizers came out quickly. My assumption is the risotto wasn t ready as it takes time. The setting is cool and nice ambiance, we were seated at a 2 top that was right where the main doors would be if they were closed but not too hot nor too cold. If going for the sushi, would recommend checking out a different restaurant. We didn t try the steaks so you re on your own for that.
By far the biggest issue at The Victor was the egregious time you had to wait for anything. Took way too long for drink orders to be taken, to arrive and then they told us as we re ordering dinner to expect a 1 hour wait time for food. It just took FOREVER we contemplated dessert but they gave us a dessert menu and no one even came for that order until another 15 minutes later. The salads and fish dishes were special I d recommend. The Combination (steak and shrimp) was a huge let down. Steak was not tender, shrimp were blah.
Extrodinary foid and the service were exceptionally Awesome
Food was superb, came here for prime rib Sunday and it s definitely worth the price. Service was subpar our server was clumsy. He spilled water, dropped cutleries several times. Not what I expected at this price point In addition, my family and I were having a deep conversation and we were interrupted 4 times. Just him checking in and brought us the bill out of the blue. I mean can you not read our facial expressions that we are not just casually chatting? The first time, I get it you may not know, and then subsequent 3 times plus bringing the bill?? Felt like he was rushing to get us out when the restaurant was not even full.
The Victor was an fantastic experience for us. We were celebrating our anniversary and were treated to amazing service, top quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye & my wife ordered the filet mignon. We shared a non-alcoholic drink, of which i forget the name, but it was amazing. Then to end the night we ordered the yuzu crème brulee, but we were pleasantly surprised with an additional dessert to celebrate our anniversary. We are both sober, so when they heard that they removed the wine glasses and told us they would provide something else. The cake was delicious and really topped off our experience. Would happily return for future events :)
Big thanks to Molhem for the exceptional serive! You really deserve the 100 star :))) Regards
Love this place Great food and drinks we ve been here a few times and every time service has been on point as has the delicious food. The meat choices are prime and the wine list is extensive. 10/10 Food : 5/5
Mulham was awesome! Great experience
Gorgeous place and the food was great but the service was lacking and inattentive. It s a shame and I was expecting better.
We went for the Sunday Spoils dinner and it was so mid. The food took forever to come out. Ordered a medium rare and medium steak but was pretty much raw even after waiting for more than hour to get the food. The caesar salad was probably the worst we ever had anywhere. Bisque was a 4/10. And we asked to switch the dessert for a higher price, but they got that wrong as well. All in all pretty terrible experience for $150 spent. I have been to Victor before and had a wonderful experience, but today REALLY SUCKED. Cursing the day I decided to spent my money on mid food and service.
Got the Sunday roast set. Food is tasty and satisfying, plus the set is good value. But they forgot the bread and the main course took nearly an hour to arrive. Youd think that it wouldnt be this slow if its a set meal that lots of patrons were ordering, alas...... Havent had a dinner this slow since we were in Europe.
I was nervous in booking after reading the reviews but we really had our heart set on Beef Wellingtons. Im glad I chose here. We went for my 40th bday. Dinner was delish, service was fabulous and dessert really topped it off. As someone who works in restaurants and really appreciates good service, knowing what it should be like. I was impressed and left very happy with my experience! My sister doesnt drink and was incredibly impressed with their mocktails... she got a lil wild and even ordered a second she like it so much.
Did our first disco brunch last Sunday and I love the food, service, and the music. I think with the price I am happy with it. Love the tuna poke, prime rib steak and the scrambled eggs. There were a lot of choices for a brunch. Even raw oysters is part of it.
My server was absolutely amazing, front hostess were extremely snobby ( i guessshowing up in jeans anda t shirt wasntto their liking ), was a great atmosphere after we had to complain about wanting a quiet place to sit which we finally got, food was also great prices were high 300$ for a meal for 2,
The food was outstanding and our waitress provided wonderful, knowledgeable and attentive service. We felt very comfortable.
If you are going to a steakhouse in Vancouver .stick to Elisa or Black and Blue. Don t waste your money here. The food is mediocre at best
This place is a trap, overpriced, be careful with the menu items charged by weight. You will have a terrible surprise when get the bill.
Amazing service by Chris, excellent knowledge of the cocktails made our evening even more enjoyable.
I used to go at this place for a couple of drinks and the customer service was really great. But today I decided to go and have drinks with my cousins for my bday and there was this employee PHIL who made a face when we were ordering drinks and was kinda rolling his eyes. I knew that we came late but atleast they could have greeted us with a little patience. Absolutely poor customer service. This guys need to have proper training according to JW standards. He just presented the bill and left with a rude face. The F n B manager should look into this.
Amazing service provided by Bridget, great food as well
Took my dad to the Sunday disco buffet brunch. Moderately disappointed for the price $90 ppl, plus tax and tip. Unlike the regular sunday buffet brunch at $70ppl, they removed the option to have one item from the regular menu. My dad researched the menu thoroughly and wanted the crab cake Benny, but it didnt make sense to order, on top of the $90 buffet. - service was amazing and staff were attentive and wonderful. Manager checked in with us and was lovely. - sushi was not good. Did not go back for the sashimi or rolls - shakshuka and eggs - all mediocre - prime rib was decent - nothing standout or noteworthy As for the disco buffet, the vibe was good, but a miss on the music for a brunch vibe. You dont want disco club vibes like staying alive, beat it or RESPECT, which played a few times over. Brunch crowd was not feeling it You want the steady mellow hits likehow deep is your love or man in the mirror. Some feedback for the next one. That 65-crowd wants calm, not a party at 1030am
We came to The Victor during Dine Out Vancouver 2023. Very disappointed. 1. A server delivered a wrong appetizer to me and left it in front of me and gone. I waved and told him that was not my order. Its ridiculous that he tookit back and sent it right away to another table!! I could not believe that it happened in a 5-star hotel restaurant. He should take it back to the kitchen! 2. I ordered wine pairings, so I was waiting for red wine for my entree. Its a long wait. My husband had finished his salmon dish while I am still waiting for my red wine to go with the Diane steak. 3. The teapot does not look anything decent... its worse than what I ordered from a diner. I would not recommend this restaurant to someone who wants to have a dinner at a decent place.
Amazing in all ways!
Highly recommend the Spoils of Sunday prime rib roast dinner which is essentially a 4 course meal for $68.00. You start with delicious warm Japanese milkbread with whipped butter followed by your choice of lobster bisque, avocado crunch roll, or Caesar salad. The avocado crunch roll was light and refreshing and above average for sushi. The lobster bisque had great seafood flavour and the way they serve it is beautiful and entertaining. The Yorkshire pudding was so crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, it was definitely a highlight of the night. The mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked as well. The prime rib was okay but the downside was they poured the gravy over everything such that the taste of the gravy overpowered everything and you could not control the amount of gravy over everything. Would be way better if they gave you a little sauce cup of gravy on the plate like other prime rib places so you can pour gravy over whatever you like and control the flavours on the plate. Dessert was beautiful with gold flakes on the cotton candy and the donuts were good. Service was great and the restaurant was very nice with the option to sit outside and see this nice man made pond.
Do not expect service in the lounge. Terrible service. For the price you pay here and the service you get ....go somewhere else
Arrived at 6pm prior to the Rolling Stones concert and we booked dinner to coincide with arriving at BC Place by 830pm ( was booked this way when making the reservation and confirmed before being seated). At 810pm food was still not ready. Drinks took 50 minutes to serve after arriving, one small slice of bread to serve 6 at our table at 7:15pm while our server seemed to be hiding. Left at 810pm with no dinner! Server explained it would be another 10 mins...I was not scarfing down a $100 steak. No manager apologies, just our server explaining we werent the only ones that had not recevied our dinner yet, which did not make us feel better. Too bad, as I was really looking forward to our meal and fun night out.
Came here for my birthday and it was amazing! The sushi is fantastic and Steven was so lovely! Tee hee ;)
Its a nice buzzy place, with a delicious mac and cheese waffle during the dinner service, but the brunch buffet w/signature dish left something to be desired. Service was abrupt at Bruch but warmer in the evening. Great patio and room but hit and miss on the rest.
This is semi buffet with a main dish for the Brunch menu. The buffet is not much food actually. Beef is good. But the sushi is not good and less choice. The fruits is also less choice. The price is expensive.
The all you can eat brunch was quite disappointing. For $65 per person you really do not get much. Honestly found it hard finding things I wanted to eat and that says a lot because I can eat A LOT. The sushi was worse than grocery store sushi quality and fell apart immediately. The carving station was good, but they are extremely stingy with the servings (as in they will shave off a tiny little slice, cut that in half, and then serve you. The TikTok posts and sponsored reviews of this place are pretty misleading. There were no seafood options (only tiny little ceviche cups that barely contain any seafood), no shrimp, no oysters, and sadly no dim sum :(. The fruit and vegetables seemed fresh, but for $65 that really does not add much value. The desserts were also disappointing and nothing special, there were some small mediocre chocolate chip cookies and marshmallows and melted chocolate and a few small pastries but nothing really stood out. Our server was nice, but while going up to get food from the buffet an employee came and cleared off our table along with our drinks and dessert. We only had half a coffee before they took our drinks and nobody ever offered to replace them, the coffee wasn t included in the price so it would have been nice to get to drink it. For a la carte entrees we tried the crab eggs Benny, which was okay as well as the chicken and waffles which was also decent but nothing special. Overall, for just under $150 not including the tip for breakfast for two people, I think you could get much better food elsewhere. The atmosphere however is nice, and the location is beautiful so at least there s that!
Absolutely beautiful restaurant with a cool indoor/outdoor open dining space. The service was friendly. The $65 brunch AYCE is a big disappointment though and coffee is not even included. The meat portions are very small, not many savory sides aside from mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The sushi quality literally tasted like it was from 7-eleven. Theres lots of filler like fruits, cookies and candies that I wouldnt really want to fill my stomach with if Im paying $70+. Overall definitely not worth coming back.
We did the brunch on Sunday. Highly disappointed, lack of options in the buffet area and main deserts was just ok. For $65 person definitely not worth it. Also it s $90 person if you want it add coffee or drinks with your meal
I ve been to The Victor a few times and the service and food is always fantastic. Eugene (the handsome one) was our server and he did a great job and rolled with our senses of humour. The chicken was tasty but I ve had the steak before and it s cooked to perfection. I had a wonderful birthday at The Victor and will definitely be back.
Very pleased to have been able to get a reservation here for a Saturday night on late notice. It is a very cozy and nice atmosphere. Japanese inspired Steakhouse, so they also have sushi. Very fresh, i wish i tried something else my wedges were pretty salty along the with the Wagyu burger i had, it did not taste as tender as I thought so i cant give it a 5. Although the service was very good, food took a pretty long time to prepare. Overall was a good night and i do recommend you try this place for a very convenient location beside the parq casino.
Had an overpriced reheated garbage meal. Clearly cooking steaks early and reheating them at dinner time. Not what Id expect from such a pricy meal.
It s a bit of a journey to the restaurant up on the sixth floor of Parq Vancouver Casino Resort past a rooftop pond and fountain. Their outdoor patio was set up already which looked like a nice place to eat with the view of the pond. It s a pretty large dining room inside. We were seated however in a booth facing what looked like their sushi counter so we felt cut off from the rest of the dining room. We had the rib cap and striploin with their trio sauce (peppercorn, chimicchuri, and bearnaise), as well as a side of the brussel sprouts, fries, and mushrooms. The steaks themselves were cooked rare as requested, well seasoned and tender. The fries are thick cut and had a good texture to them. The brussel sprouts looked promising with the colour on them. I was expecting them to be crispy (they are called Crispy Brussel Sprouts on the menu), but they weren t. They were also overwhelmingly sweet. I had a dessert wine and the brussel sprouts were sweeter than that. It s like they were candied. The mushrooms were a bit mediocre for our table and we didn t really care much for them. The service was good, just sometimes would go through a long pause trying to find our server and can t, maybe because of where we were seated. I think the restaurant has a lot of potential and I m sure they ve provided great experiences for other guests. I think there are opportunities here to improve both the front and back of house and provide a high level experience more consistently.
Went to the sunday brunch buffet today with family and was very disappointed. For $65, the variety of food was very pitiful and no coffee or tea or any juices were included. The prime rib was very good but the carver seemed so stingy with his paper thin slices that caused the beef to be all cut up into tiny slivers. If you ask him for a thicker cut, then hell give u like a 2mm thick half slice which ive never seen a buffet do before. The rest of the food was just okay, not horrible but nothing outstanding. Dessert table was just sad. Was excited for the candy bar but then when i went into the restaurant, i saw a lady who dropped some candies on the floor and she just placed the dirty candies back with the tongs (not the restaurants fault, i know) but at the end of my meal, the dirty candies were still there..touching the tongs. Chocolate fondue was gloopy and had a weird aftertaste. Fruits werent sweet at all..the pinkest watermelon ive ever seen at a buffet. The ceviche was a mixture of finely diced seafood but at that size, you cant even tell what youre eating anymore. The seatings were quite tight and wasnt very comfortable. They also charge $30 for kids under 12..meaning my 3 year old also had to pay $30 which i find ridiculous. The waitress had the audacity to point to my 6 month old and say but we wont charge him anything Overall, i would not recommend this place. For $65, there are better options elsewhere.
Beautiful restaurant. Great atmosphere. The hostess Marilia was so sweet! Christian took care of our table and was amazing. You can tell they go above and beyond for customer experience at this restaurant. The manager made sure to stop at our table 3 times throughout dinner to check if everything was good. Food was honestly one of the best I have had in Vancouver! Thank you team for a great first experience at The Victor.
Came for the Sunday brunch buffet and the food was good, but the service was sub par.
Had the Sunday Brunch! The food quality and taste are great for its price. The carver sliced the prime rib so thinly that most of it becomes a serving of fat, but the meat that we did get was soft and flavourful. I enjoyed the eggs benny + crabcakes as it was a light contrast to the, very rich, shakshuka. While I enjoyed the food, my friends and I had a poor experience. From the moment we sat down, the service made us feel rushed to order, to get the bill, and to leave. Id understand if there was a lot of people waiting for the tables and the place was packed but it was neither of those. Oddly enough it took quite a while for us to get someones attention to get a refill of water. Maybe it was because of where we were sat? Anyways, food was good, but with the experience we wont be returning anytime soon.
Highly mediocre meal for what youre paying.. steaks are brought cold and even though ordered medium rare, they were all blue-rare at best. Insanely long service times, 3 hours for our set menu? No follow ups for drinks or anything or an hour until food came. Wouldnt recommend. Go to Gothams, Elisa or Hys instead. Especially when you spend $250/pp.
terrible experience :( - i paid $326 for 3 people only! for food that was very low quality. waffles seemed old, oysters at room temperature, everything else was average. the velvet chair i was going to seat on was dirty, but very dirty, it was actually disgusting that i even asked for a replacement... good thing: service, it was good, but food was really bad!. recommendation: do not waste your money going there.it was quiet too pricy for what we got.
I have had disco brunch at the Victor twice. First time we had an alright time. The food was mediocre and extremely expensive. The service however was above average. My boss wanted to try the prime rib so I gave it another go. The second time around everyone in my party started feeling ill about three hours after the meal with GI upset that lasted roughly 36 hours. I wont be returning. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevators, no stairs or obstacles or uneven terrain.
We went to the Disco Brunch this past weekend, and I m not sure if it was an off day, but it was one of the most disappointing meals I ve had, and worth nowhere near the $90 price point. The ha gao and bbq pork bun steamers were pitifully small and didn t seem suitable for a buffet, as they were empty when I saw them. The shakshuka s yolks were a dry, crumbly mess. The avocado on toast tasted like a faux avocado spread (look at the color even). The sushi was pretty low quality. The tuna poke had the weirdest texture. It was solid and thick, like it was still frozen, and the marinade had no flavor. We thought the oysters and motoyaki were good. Someone stuck their nose right up on the oatmeal(?), not that that s the restaurant s fault. I had multiple servings of the prime rib, and while some were fine, a couple times the carver served me the most shredded pieces of meat that looked like they had already been pre-chewed, which was likely because he tried to slice the meat extremely thin, but it just turned the meat into a fatty mess. The dessert station was fine, but was just a random table tucked into a booth. Our server was great and the restaurant was nice as usual. The experience just seemed like a poor attempt at a buffet. Overall I would not recommend.
Took my friend put on his bday. There s just two of us and both of us are small eaters. Waitress suggested that he could get one order of Beef Wellington served in two smaller plates. But he ended up charging for two orders. Always check your bill and there s not even a date on the receipt. Lost my trust here
One of the best happy hours in the city. Our server Steven was unreal as well. 5 stars for that guy. We ll be back.
First time here, will be the last. The food was excellent, steak was cooked well, no complaints for the food. The service was lacking though. Took 10 minutes for the waiter to come by after being seated, they took cutlery from one seat but when asked forgot to bring it back. Waiter repeated the order back and had it wrong, is it that hard to write it down? Atmosphere is nice, but after the lacking service I will not be back. Would expect more from a nice restaurant.
*Disappointing Buffet Brunch Experience* We recently visited The Victor for their buffet brunch, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. For $65, I expected a wide variety of high-quality dishes, but what we got was a limited selection of mediocre food. The options were scarce, and the few dishes they had were unimpressive. The desserts were particularly disappointing. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this buffet brunch to anyone. The price is too steep for the lacklustre experience you get. Unless they revamp their menu and improve their offerings, Id suggest looking elsewhere for a better value.
Gotta love The Victor. Have been many times and will continue to go! Great food, fun and cool vibes, funky and chic atmosphere.
The stake was very very bad and rubbery and I ordered the most expensive one.
We just had an absolutely delicious meal at the stardust diner! Service was superb and food was fantastic.
Called for 45 minutes 5 times no answer. Says it s not busy. So is it open or closed? Guess they lost out on a sale of a $300 on 2 meals for stake and sushi. Guess next restaurant gets our money
We ordered the Sunday special multi-course meal. The prime rib was amazing and we had to order the Beef Wellington. Our server was very
We very much enjoyed Happy Hour (they call it Victory Hour) in their bar/lounge area. They had a nice selection of drinks and food from their regular menu on special. We really enjoyed the Coco-Lagoon, mushroom arancini, and spicy tuna roll. We didn t feel the quality or portions were any different from their regular menu. When I made the reservation, I didn t realize Happy Hour is not available in the main dining room, but they had no problem moving us over. Just something to be aware of. The decor and ambiance was really nice by the bar. More lively than the dining room, which while also very nice, is quite large and often feels empty. This is a bit of a hidden gem in terms of a great Happy Hour and we would definitely go back! Parking: Free parking for casino guests.
Was there for an anniversary dinner. I appreciate it was busy due to the hockey game but we were largely neglected by our waiter due to his desire to serve bigger groups Ordered our main course and never saw it for 90 minutes Cancelled our meal to get pho instead No apology from them just saying business as usual
Ive spent there my birthday dinner everything was just amazing, nice patio, tasty meat and perfect service
Super good seafood here
Blue tuna sashimi, foie gras and 100% crab cakes were on point
Amazing restaurant, food, service. Must come back when I visit Vancouver again!!!!
Theres lots to enjoy about the Victor and as I didnt have restrictions I enjoyed the buffet. However, if you have any dietary restrictions you will basically pay twice what anyone else will for the buffet. My sister could only have an egg white omelet made and asked for the only gluten free dessert they make which wasnt even on the buffet - there were no gluten free bread options or desserts available. She had to pay extra (on top of $90 each for the buffet she couldnt indulge in). We also had expensive champagne yet they charged her for the dessert. And coffee! Not what Id expect. She goes quite often but probably wont bother in future. There are so many exquisite restaurants in Vancouver which cater to any requests. I was quite surprised and disappointed by this.
Quality and service has definitely declined!
Was looking for a good place to go to for a birthday celebration and decided to give the Victor a try. It was our first time. Great food, great atmosphere, everything came in a good timely manner and the staff was amazing. Our server was Eugene and gave us many tips for our first time and was amazing to us. Highly recommend this place :) and don t forget to make sure to ask to sit in Eugene s section if you want an extra special experience
A very pleasant dining experience at The Victor. We went during their monthly disco brunch buffet offer. You wont be disappointed with the quality of seafood and cooked meats they offer. There isnt a large selection like most buffets but the selection of food here are each delicious! Gobble up the oysters and ample servings of prime rib, those were my favorite of the bunch. Dessert is good but not great, mostly baked pastries and chocolates.
Food was ok! The steak looked better than it tasted, not enough crust and the meat was a little bland. Steak tartare was tasty though and the other appetizers were fine. Once is enough!
Vegetarian options and food were amazing. There was a lot of confusion about our reservation though, so maybe double check those in advance.
Seafood amazing, great beef, great selection of drinks. Eugene served us well.
Hello, I was dining in this restaurant with my boyfriend and we were celebrating the year of anniversary. That was really important for us to have this day special. When we came to the restaurant we expected to be in a nice atmosphere, get an amazing experience, and eat some great food. However, we were pretty disappointed with our visit. Almost every single item we ordered was freshed out, even when we had set menu sitting on the table for 30 minutes, just then our server came over to us and let us know that they didn t have 12 oz Prime Rib and just took the menu from our tables. When we finally ordered something, we were waiting 40 minutes for it, even though restaurant was half full. We ordered 2 medium rare steaks, my steak was fine, but my boyfriends steak was underdone, so he asked to throw steak on the grill for longer. When we finished with them, we ordered 2 desserts, which also were freshed out, as server said, so it took 30 more minutes to get those desserts on a table while she was asking the Chef for it. As soon as we got home, my boyfriend started complaining about stomachache he was feeling (he only had a dinner and nothing else before the pain started). I needed to get some medicine for him because he was actually feeling very bad. I m just wondering for what did we pay $250, for ruined anniversary?
Dined here for a corporate event with Honda. Christian our server was above exceptional. Him and the team went out of their way to accommodate our tables food allergies. Providing outstanding service, food quality, and exceptional execution of our dinner experience. I would highly recommend having a meal here and asking to sit with Christian! Thank you to you and the team!
Food is not as good as expect. Steak over cooked, rice cake over fried, even the second time redo, super hard. Price is average to other restaurants but not the beef with extra fees. Service is very good. Great atmosphere most of the tables with good distance. 25 dolloars parking if in event night.
We had dinner at the Victor last night and it was delicious! We enjoyed the ceviche, beet carpaccio, salmon roll, poke, hamachi and ended off our feast with the exclusive wagyu steak and broccolini. Everything was perfect! I loved how they grilled the wagyu at the table, and how the executive chef was seen going to tables and checking in on his guests. He truly seems to care about the food and the guests. We will be back!
Amazing breakfast. The benedict was killer. Loved the atmosphere and the service was attentive. Definitely coming back Food
We had a fantastic time celebrating my cousins birthday at the bar lounge. A big shoutout to our server, Cindy her exceptional customer service and fantastic recommendations truly stood out. The Lip Gloss drink she suggested was absolutely extraordinary! Well unquestionably be returning. A solid 10/10 experience!
I took my wife to Victor for Valentines Day a few days early. From the moment we stepped inside the posh restaurant to the moment we paid the cheque and were bid farewell - absolutely everything was perfection! Victor features a very warm, stylish atmosphere that makes one reminiscent of how high end restaurants used to be from our parents generation. We were both dressed to the nine and definitely felt the part! Our server Eugene was absolutely fabulous and was very professional albeit personal with us and is the epitome of a top notch server. Our food was to die for which included a medium rare steak, Cannelloni, a lobster bisque and complimented by a lovely bottle of Argentinian wine. I give Victor top marks for keeping the hallmarks of a classic restaurant alive & well! Afterwards we wandered into the casino and spent a good hour there which was easily accessed on the lower floor. Keep up the amazing work.
Overpriced with small choice of appetizers. Side dishes were not that great. Tomahawk steak was good, but the whole fish was way too small!!
Mr.Nam, the manager at Victor is the one who makes the restaurant delighted. I have been in here many times and always got the best serve with Mr. Nam and his staffs. I would like to say thank you for the best serve always!! Thank you and see you soon.
Great experience. The food is tasty and well presented. We had the private room for a birthday party, and the service was great. Their coctails are delicious too, I just didnt like the dessert. It was way too sweet, and I only had one or two bites. For the main course, I ordered the filet mignon, which was cooked and seasoned very well.
Great ambience, service, and tasty food. (Visit for dinner) Had the Spoils of Sunday, and everything had great taste and was prepared well! The cut of steak was very gristly, didnt expect that for the price, so Ive deducted a star for that. In comparison to The Chop Steakhouse, its subpar. Best Prime rib is at Chop Steakhouse, even the kegs is better than The Victors in fact. A little pricey, but definitely recommended for a good anniversary/etc celebration! (Lunch visit) Had the Wagyu breakfast burger and it was delicious! Definately a gourmet burger thats worth coming for a special event. $36 is a steal of a deal for this quality dining. Highly recommend the Victor! They also have a pretty nice sound system for the background music! Tannoy speakers all around, good bass and full range reproduction of music, and they have a pretty decent tasteful selection for the background music. Wheelchair accessibility: Elevators and HC for for wheel chair access
We had an absolute blast. The service was outstanding, and our server was super knowledgeable and professional. Sushi was amazing and so was the steak on the hot salt block. The crab cake was excellent too. I highly recommend this place and we will surely be back.
Stopped by on a Sunday for their special prime rib family feast for two which comes with Caesar salad, lobster and crab bisque, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, mini Yorkshire pudding, and 24oz prime rib. Located on the sixth floor, we had a bit of difficulty finding how to get to the restaurant until we followed the signs inside the Parq hotel. Nice looking patio which probably looks great at night with the lights from BC Place next door. Tables are spaced out well and very attentive service. The meal was amazingly good. While not a fan of the chickpeas in the Caesar salad (hard to pick up with a fork), the aroma of the bisque was nice. The caramelized Brussels were coated with a slightly sweet glaze that we delicious. Im not a fan of Yorkshire pudding but the shift and airy ones they had here just melted in your mouth. I took our servers reco and took some of the fat and gravy from the prime rib and stuffed it inside the yorkie... So delish. Prime rib was nice and tender with some char on the outside. Overall, impressed with the food and service and would come back to try the rest of their dishes. Tip: prime rib only available on Sundays. Update: Revisit Feb 2024 We came back for a visit this past Feb (again to have their roast beef). Their menu had slightly changed since our visit few years ago and they now had a single version of their Sunday Roast ($58) with included Brussels and mashed potatoes as well as yorkies. Prime rib was as good and tender as I remembered. We also started our meal with a seasonal feature of kampachi carpaccio ($24). Beautifully tasty with a slightly tart yuzu vinaigrette. Ive been eyeing their rib cap steak for a while now ($72 for 10oz) as I love ribeyes but never had just the rib cap by itself. It does cook differently than the eye portion of the ribeye and this turned out super tender and flavourful. We really liked the creamed kale and spinach ($13) topped off with crispy shallots and nutmeg. Ended our meal with the black forest gateau ($16) - a rich and luxurious Valrhona manjari chocolate mousse with cherry compote, chocolate cherry sponge, and hazelnut praline. Drinks: Amelie ($16) Raspberry, blood orange, lavender, bubbles Tiki con nada ($15) tropical fruits, falernum, coconut
Vegetarian options: They have a few selections but keep in mind it is a steak and sushi forward dining room Dietary restrictions: Lots of options are available Parking: There it is Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator
Amazing and worth it! Delicious food, service was amazing and will be back! Highly recommend disco brunch
Food was decent highlights were the thick fries and steak char(chicago style), nothing standout, place was very busy. Service wasnt great. Drinks were ok. Classic steakhouse. Not cheap for what you get, not much atmosphere
Parking: Parking at the building opposite the hotel is a lot cheaper Food
Food: for this price, a pass Service: great Atmosphere: Its nice. The music was too loud though. Food : 3/5
We came for Dine Out 2024 and were very pleasantly surprised by our meal. It was all 3 of our first time dining here. Hostesses accommodated our request for a table vs the bar and it was much appreciated. The cheese bread was really nice and fluffy, the texture was soft and slightly crisp on the outside. We had a piece left but our waiter automatically cleared it away when our appies arrived. Kinda strange if you ask me as I think we had still planned on eating it. I had the wagyu meatballs to start, a generous portion with 3 meatballs and 2 pieces of bread. It was tasty albeit a bit salty and the bread was a little on the hard side. I didn t get much truffle flavor either. If I could have chose again I d probably have gone with the shrimp. My cousin has the same dish and loved it. My mom had the burrata which I had a bite of. It was also good, though it seemed like the piece of burrata was on the smaller side. For our mains we all had the green peppercorn steak. Steaks were done perfectly to our liking. It was larger than expected and tasted great as well. No complaints here, although my cousin didn t think it was a ribeye cut. Carrots were a hair over raw. My mom and I split the cheese cake and pecan cake for dessert and loved them both. They were both lighter than expected. The cheesecake seemed like the no bake kind, but tasted much better than that. The flavor in the cheesecake base was subtle but very pleasant. I expected the pecan cake to be dense but it wasn t. Would definitely get both of these again. Service was good. Our waiter was great about refilling our water glasses. The runner who brought our food needed direction as to who ordered what. She got our appies mixed up. My mom really liked the spacious arrangement of the tables. There was a lot of space in between most tables. Perhaps my review is a bit picky, but for a higher end restaurant my expectation is higher as well. All-in-all really enjoyed our meal and will be back. Tip: if you ve never been here and park in their parkade, park by the elevators that take you up to the Douglas hotel. If you take these elevators up to the 6th floor you are essentially just outside the restaurant. Far easier and less confusing. Parking was $8 for 2 hrs.
Don t order Dine Out Brunch! We ordered dine out brunch but when I got home, I found out that ordering separately actually costs cheaper! So what s the point of Dine Out Vancouver? Although the food was food in general, there s room for improvement for the service. Our server had no smile on his face and we felt like he s forced to come to work on a Sunday morning. We really didn t like he deserved the 18% tips.
DOV $65 3 course dining menu with burrata salad / peppercorn/ apple cheesecake Disappointed on so many levels. I ve eaten here many times outside of DOV and this has been my staple for several years. This meal was enough that I would never return back inside or outside DOV. My friend and I both ordered the peppercorn steak and struggled to cut the steak as it was gristly and tough. I almost sent it back but wasn t interested in getting another steak and the other option if salmon wasn t interesting either. Horrible menu and food
The restaurant is very nice. Cozy with an upscale atmosphere. We came here for my wifes 40th birthday. There was 6 of us. The views were romantic. The only negative for the atmosphere are the toilets. It is too dark that I couldnt tell if the seats were clean or not. I needed to use my phone flashlight when using toilet paper. The food was tasty especially the bread it was fantastic. I ordered a $98 cowboy ribeye medium rare. I would think that for this price I would get medium rare. The steak was rare. I didnt return it because they would cook it again and that is not the same. The flavor was great but I didnt get the doneness I asked for. The service was lack luster. The service was polite and nice, however, he forgot our drink order and we had to remind him. The fantastic bread was part of the dine out Vancouver menu but we had to ask for it. The server was not around whenever we needed something. It was a busy dinner service but when you are requesting for 18 or 20% gratuity shouldnt the service reflect it. We had a wonderful night though but it could have been better. Parking: Park in the Hotel underground level P2
I really enjoyed the dine out menu. Started with some milk bread for the table, and then chose the burrata, salmon/potatoes, and finished with a slice of a maple pecan dessert.
Amazingly good
We were at The Victor for Sunday Disco brunch, and we truly enjoyed it. Everything was really good, carving stations, pastries, oyster bar, eggs,... well definitely try again
Absolutely BRILLIANT! Went for Dine Out for my Birthday with 5 friends and had a fabulous server who made sure to give me extra attention for my birthday. Absolutely fantastic food! Such a great experience - thank you!!
The Victor was a great experience, wonderful staff, exceptional food.
3 stars at best, went for dine out Vancouver, and was surprised at how underwhelming the food was. Points for a personalized anniversary card and comp sparkling wine to toast, our waiter was pleasant but the food did not warrant the cost of our evening ** we even upgraded our mains with the better cut of beef. Will not be back.
Great steak, great service, unique location. Will go back.
I was gonna give 6 stars but not on google. :)
Friendly and attentive service. Love the comfortable seats whether dining in or sitting in the lounge area. Dinner and cocktails are well made. Favourite item the semifreddo mousse for dessert. Food
We had reservations for 8:30 pm on Valentines day and they made us wait for almost an HOUR for our table. When the hour was up the manager came up and said there is still another 15 minutes wait for our table. We reserved this table a month ago and was excited but their customer service ruined it for us. If you dont have the capacity then maybe you shouldnt overbook??!!!!!!!!! My first time here and didnt enjoy the experience from the start to finish. Very disappointed. If you want a good place for special occasions DO NOT PICK THIS PLACE.
The worst service.
Absolutely awful way to spend Valentine s Day. Food took over an hour to get to us and my steak was incredibly bland and tough. And to top it all off, they didn t give us steak knives so we had to use our butter knives on an already tough steak. Never been more disappointed in a restaurant and not worth the $250 we spent. I recommend going to Gotham, Hy s, or Elisa instead. Similar price and at least they know that you should season a steak before serving it.
We went with some friends during the special disco brunch that they hold on the third Sunday of each month. Food was excellent service was great as well would highly recommend. I believe normally for their normal brunch they just offer the à la carte options.
We had our Christmas dinner here 1 it eqs really delicious
Awesome as always.
Honestly food was mediocre at best. Steak was mooing at me when I ordered medium. Drinks are decent, service is meh. Dont think Ill be coming back. Also 8 dollars for water? It aint even upscale.
good food, service was average. the layout of the restaurant is confusing, all of the staff were out in the open and chatting with each other the entire time. just a messy atmosphere in general. we were celebrating a birthday and after confirming with the front desk, there wasn t any celebration or anything.
We order sushi roll and nigiri..it was worst sushi ever try in Vancouver. Appy and steak was ok...nothing special. Food
The lobster bisque tasted a bit salty for me. The bread was nice and soft. I do like the pork belly and the waguy burger where I can choose how the patty is done. The fries are great. The Black Forest dessert is huge which comes in individually. Overall okay.
The food overall was ok but probably a bit lacking for the price. I had the pork belly and scallops feature and thought it was well done but the other people dining with me had steaks and were not impressed saying it was chewy. The appies we had were fries, onion rings and crab cake and the fries were not crispy at all. I did not get to try the onion rings or the crab cake but from what I heard from others.. It was nothing to write home about either.. I think some food may be hit or miss but the service is always excellent as they were very patient with us and the atmosphere of the restaurant does exude fine dining and is a great place for special occasions or dates! Dietary restrictions: Currently I cant have dairy and the waiter was willing to go to the kitchen to check if a couple of the dishes I wanted were dairy free or could be made dairy free. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for kids available
New year day buffet was very good! We called them last minute and they were able to accommodate us. The restaurant had a good number of guest for the day for the buffet, but definitely not too many to cause unpleasant experience. Food selection was great. My son enjoyed the chocolate fondue and we sure loved the prime rib/ taco bar. Great experience overall, and I would love to come back.
Amazing experience at Victor tonight. Our server, Chi, went above and beyond for us. He was a very polite, professional and a personable server. Would recommend 10/10
Seems like every time we come here , the servers are not happy to be working. It was so bad, the manger served our table.
Came here for the Sunday Brunch and it was fantastic! Great decor, comfortable seating, spacious, and the service was fantastic! Got the Oscar Eggs Benedict (essentially crab cakes with poached eggs on top) and it was delicious. Pricing was surprisingly competitive for such an establishment vs your typical brunch spots. They also had a little complimentary self-serve candy station which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend!
I have always regarded Victor as one of the best dining spots in town, thanks to consistently great experiences in the past. However, my most recent visit about a month ago was unexpectedly disappointing, especially in terms of service. Our group of eight arrived at 7 pm, looking forward to enjoying their renowned 3-course meal. Unfortunately, the service was remarkably slow. The courses took an unusually long time to be served, which was surprising and not in line with the high standards weve come to expect from Victor. Additionally, the restaurant seemed understaffed that evening, which might have contributed to the delays. The culmination of our evening was also less than satisfactory. When we were ready to leave around 11 pm, there was no one available to assist us with our coats, a small but noticeable lapse in service. While the food quality remained excellent, the overall experience was marred by these service issues. I hope this was just an off night and not a new trend, as Victor has always been a top choice for a fine dining experience.
Seafood tower portion was extremely expensive 260+tax for a tiny laughable portion. Won t be back
It would have been great except I ordered the Wagyu steak, medium rare, and it was totally raw in the middle. I had to send it back to be cooked more. Not a big deal, but I did pay a lot of money for my steak and really shouldnt have had to think or request to have it cooked more. I ate a lot of raw meat just to not be a bother. I was given a free desert, but after thinking about it, for the price I paid for a high quality steak, I shouldnt have had to send it back or eat raw meat at all and a free desert didnt compensate this. It was extremely disruptive to my fine dining.
The Victor is Nestled in the heart of the city! As I stepped inside I was captivated by the elegant yet welcoming ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable culinary journey. The first thing that struck me was the impeccable service! The staff at The Victor demonstrated utmost professionalism, showing great attention to detail and ensuring that every need was met! The menu is a fusion of diverse culinary influences, carefully crafted to satisfy even the most sophisticated palates. Each dish we had was expertly prepared and presented, showcasing the chefs expertise. The Sablefish I had melted in my mouth and had amazing flavour. The Victor also boasts an extensive wine selection curated to complement the various flavours on menu. If your seeking a memorable dining experience with exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and refined ambiance look no further than The Victor! This culinary haven captivated our senses, leaving us with an insatiable desire to return time and time again ! 10/10! Vegetarian options: Tons of veggie options for all Parking: Normal prices
Great food and great service. Went there last night. Three stars because there was a huge rat running in between our tables. About 20 people saw. Was a scene.
Great meal great staff Jarod was fantastic!
Jarod was the best, we had a great night at the victor. Thanks
I ordered: Dungeness Crab Cake, Foie Gras, Beef Wellington, Wagyu Tenderloin (added Lobster and Brussels Sprouts) and Sorbet. Food: overall they re decent-good, but the bread, beef wellington sauce and brussels sprouts all have this burnt taste. It s not a big deal as they re still decently good, but I still informed our waiter about it. I was very excited for the beef wellington but was a little let down with the scallion in it. I don t think it matches the dish that well (but that s my own opinion). Service: friendly and attentive! Great service :) Atmosphere: good vibe but a little noisy for myself If you park at Parq, take the elevator to main floor first and then take another elevator (the other end of the hall) to the 6th floor.
Came here during dinout BC, a local restaurant festival that has preset menus for $65 for 3 course meal. We enjoyed the salmon the steak and the cannoli. All were good dishes well seasoned and lots of flavor. No issues at all. The location and ambiance is nice, cant wait to try the regular menu. This restaurant has a reputation of making great steaks, and the one that did come with this preset menu was decent. I asked for the peppercorn sauce on the side as I thought it would be overpowering. But it wasnt well balanced and went well with the meat.
Went to disco brunch. Fabulous selection Buzzin atmosphere!
Friendly bar staff always.
1. First time coming here (Friday, November 17, 2023). Beautiful atmosphere. Courteous and professional service. 2. My sister told me about this place and that the drinks at the bar were delicious. She was right. 3. My friend and I were dressed in casual clothing. We felt out of place, so maybe dress up a bit. 4. A server came over and we ordered drinks first. Then the server gave us time to look over the menu. 5. We ordered some food: Belgian Endive, Warm Bacon & Frisee Salad and Steak Tartare. 6. Our drinks came first: I ordered an East of Edan martini that tasted smooth but strong. My friend ordered a Caesar (his usual order) and he said that it was good. 7. They served warmed Japanese Milk Bread and butter. 8. Then served our food: The Steak Tartare was well seasoned, served with cornichon, horseradish and warmed buttered sourdough toast. My friends order. He said that it was excellent and that he would be coming back. The Belgian Endive Salad was lightly dressed with honey-thyme vinaigrette, goat cheese, candied walnuts and dried apricots.
The service was so slow , we had to wait for so long to get our food , and most of the sides I get with steak was burned .. the chef was super nice and apologized for the long wait , they should improve their service more especially in the busy weekends
My first visit to Victor, overall very good experience. Nice ambience that is good for social and business. Food - the tuna salad was not good. Too much bitter flavors from the greens and grapefruit that was not balanced. Not that much tuna either. I had filet mignon 8oz which was excellent. The peppercorn sauce is incredible. For sides the mushrooms, broccolini and cream spinach all very good. Service - slow, they were slammed from other parties. We waiting at least 45 minutes for our food. The manager kindly offered Hamachi tuna on the house which was nice.
Food and service were good. I enjoyed it. Steak, sushi and tartare were really good. The burrata was very tasty but the portion was just a spoon so it was too small, the mushroom truffle risotto was very tasty as well but a bit overcooked but I have to say that Im pretty happy with the dinner and Im usually pretty picky. Yes I would advise this restaurant.
Have had a few experiences at Victor, all but 2 were ok, this last experience was terrible! JW Marriott concierge booked it for me and 2 guests more than 2 weeks in advance , the JW did everything correctly, when we arrived at restaurant the less than competent girl informed me that my reservation was at 5PM and not 6PM as booked by the JW, told me we could get food to go as they had a private function starting at 7PM. I talked to the JW and confirmed 6PM in their system. Person at Victor was rude and pretty much a useless unfriendly human!? I have dined at restaurants all over the world and I will NEVER recommend or use the Victor again! I am an Ambassador elite with Marriott and will let my personal Ambassador know about this experience so that Marriott can recommend somewhere else, sad that this restaurant is located between 2 excellent hotels. Victor is not worth the trip, the Keg may be a better bet, at least they have friendly trained staff!
Top dining experience across the board! Four of us were staying at the hotel next door and needed somewhere nearby after landing in Vancouver. The service was fantastic - we were served by James who was friendly, welcoming, gave us some recommendations on food and wine (even let me try a taster of some local wine) and even where else we should visit on our stay. The atmosphere was perfect. A little busy but never felt overcrowded. Just a great level of volume to feel like youre in a fun space but never felt like you had people encroaching. So much space between tables and areas. Then the food! It was superb. The meat was cooked deliciously with some of our group saying it was the best wagyu burgers theyve ever eaten. The steak was perfect to order and the sides were fantastic too. The mac and cheese wafffles maybe the only slight disappointment but the rest of the food, the cannelloni, onion rings, chips, the meats, the wines were all exceptional. Oh - and whatever you do - order the bread to start! Its insane. Youll want more immediately. Vegetarian options: Not too many so check ahead if theres something for you.
Went for brunch. The food was incredible. Obviously the room is lovely. Service was not bad. There was live music. Got the ceasar bar and seafood tower.
Came here a lot for the tomahawk steak. Had our company Christmas party here and had to send the tomahawk steak back because it was raw multiple times but they couldnt get it right. They said they would comp it but didnt, Instead gave us some dessert. Overall very poor experience, especially since the table beside had a huge nice tomahawk steak and they gave us a cold, raw and small one.
Chi is the best server Ive ever had.
The food was excellent! The beef burger is the best Ive ever had in my life. The atmosphere and ambiance is very impressive. The service is excellent!
