Asian Fuison, Taiwanese Cusine, Bubble Tea
Yummy food and very good serviceYummy food and very good service. We tried Yakisoba, DF chicken boneless leg rice and spring rolls
The dishes were flavorful. The smoked duck breast noodle soup came without the soup haha but it was still very flavorful dry. Boiled veggie in this case was garlic cabbage was super tasty. Taro milk tea was also good not very sweet, glad it didn’t have any toppings.
Deer Alley offers very good Taiwanese dishes with great flavors and reasonable portions. The food is similar to what you would get in Taiwan at most places. I had the chicken, which was great with the sides, and the beef noodle was also well done. Highly recommend for an authentic Taiwanese experience
The Signature Beef Noodle is really delicious. The Signature Pork Rice Bowl is also tasty. I highly recommend the Pork Chop appetizer that we ordered. The store is clean and the owner is friendly, which made me feel good.
I ate noodles, rice, and a fried pork chop! It wasn't too salty and felt healthy. My favorite was the fried pork chop—it was crispy and soft. I hope to visit again.
Amazing service, food, and atmosphere. The restaurant is really spacious with friendly people! We got the lemonade, Spicy Taiwanese noodle, Chicken nugget (popcorn chicken), and Eggplant on rice. Great flavors and the portions are HUGE. Would go again
I came to Vancouver on a business trip and I came to Deer Alley by myself. I ordered Signature Taiwanese Beef Noodle and fruit tea. There were only a few customers in the store. It was quiet. Quick and nice service here. There were quite a few menu items but I ordered Signature Beef Noodle and a fruit drink to take hotel. The signature beef noodles was quite spicy and made me cough at first. It was funny because other people were coughing in the same way. However, I soon got used to the spiciness and finished eating. The beef was tender and just the right amount. I ordered a lemon drink to take home and had it added with jelly and shredded coconut. The taste was bland because no sweetener was added. Maybe it would be easier to drink if it was sweetened. I would like to try other menu items next time.
Came in today after craving some Taiwanese food since I just came back from a trip there. I ordered the Deep Fried Chicken Nuggets on Rice ($15.95) and a Grapefruit Black Tea with Pearls ($5.95+0.75). The rice dish was a large portion and everything tasted great. Chicken was well seasoned and freshly fried. Cabbage and egg were flavourful as well. One nit pick is I wish there were more meat chucks on top of the rice. Grapefruit black tea also tasted good but the pearls were too hard. Would probably order a different topping or no topping at all next time. Overall I'm happy that there's a Taiwanese place near my work that I can go to now.
Signature TW beef noodle and beef tendons are amazing.
simple yet very satisfying soups and food. The dodges do come out in random order. The recommended chicken nuggets were really great. The soups were good. very simple decor.
Mediocre
The beef stew noodles and the kimchi fried rice wont let you down. Ramen fan should try their noodles. Foods and services are great. Perfect for lunch break!
Went for dinner at 6pm and was surprised that they had run out of rice. We ordered the beef noodle soup and chicken nuggets, both were very delicious. #contestentry
Food is just okay. Small portion
Found this hole in the wall on Hornby St. It was raining hard so I ordered a Wonton Soup w/ noods and a peach tea. Great little restaurant and service!
The beef noodle is actually really good!!
The Taiwanese restaurant is so good! Recommend to eat
What a great place. My wife and I are in town and stumbled across this place. The food was fabulous. It wasnt trying too hard to be what it didnt need to be, just good and simple. The MAPO tofu was fabulous.
Restaurants where you can eat Taiwanese food Wonton soup is highly recommended Beef noodles are also delicious~ The portion size is just right, not too much~ The service attitude is good and the food is served very quickly Great Taiwanese food shop~~
Always friendly service and the signature beef noodle soup is excellent.
Absolutely delicious and comforting. Went in with a colleague and we shared the chili wontons and pork cutlet curry with rice. Everything was delicious and we will be back again 100%!
wait soo long
Had high hopes for this place but it wasnt even as good as Bubble World. Got the DF chicken fried rice, it was really small for the price, with only 5 pieces of chicken. Chicken wasnt crispy and it was a bit too salty. Not much service or atmosphere.
tasty! The restaurant staff are polite and polite There are also drinks to choose from
This is a classic pee-friendly sink. Very practical and no frills, but the food is exceptional, so even if you don t come here to pee in the sink I heartily recommend visiting for the food.
The taste is good and the dining environment is very nice! Will go next time!
My favorite is braised pork rice from Taiwanese restaurants. The braised pork here is delicious, the braised pork is plentiful, and it s great value for money!
The meat quality is good, will come again
So delicious and the price is right
nothing worth 4.6 review score. This level cannot survive in Vancouver.
This place is such a gem. So hard to find good Taiwanese food downtown and then theres Deer Alley thats not just good but also good value! Always get the fried rice with chicken nuggets and the Assam milk tea with wheat germ plus one wild card. Theres enough items on the menu to keep things interesting for a long time. Service is good, place is clean and spacious and their play list is on point with both western pop and Taiwanese. Good place to check out for dinner especially after the office workers have all cleared out of downtown.
Great!!! Yummy food and friendly employees!
Very delicious Amazing
Had a great food taste here.. taste is very important reason for coming here . It is pricey but once awhile is worth it.. ( portion is not so decent) Can not too trust the photos. Vegetarian options: May not have a great selection of vegi. If you are vegetarian, not a good place to eat. Kid-friendliness: Family meals absolutely! Wheelchair accessibility: Entry and seating is good, wheel chair washroom will not able to get in.
Beef noodles and clear soup dumplings are delicious!
Me and my friend got bubble teas and the pearls were very good.
Good service! Thank you.
Its my first time being this restaurant and I love it. The serving is fast, the waitress is friendly, and the food is delicious. I ordered MaPo tofu and Unagi (grilled eel) fried rice. And the bubble tea is very good too. Good price !!
Ordered the Mapo Tofu and the Eel fried rice. The food was good also the staff was nice and welcoming.
I was super excited to bring my friend here because I love the beef noodles. But today is my last day going because I found a bug in the noodle soup. I immediately let the waitress know which then was escalated to the manager. He tried to reflect and said it was a pickle and when I showed him he was like oh do you want a new one? At that point I was speechless. I honestly wanted to leave but didn t want to create a scene. I then had the second noodle and what was upsetting was he came by after and asked if things are good ? During the whole time, they didn t come by to check on me until we were done and they told us to take our time I think it would have been better had he acknowledged as soon as I brought up the issue. I was charged for the noodles full price and his response was I am really sorry again about this I understand that these things can happen. But the way the store handled my experience was done in a very poorly way. From gaslighting and deflecting and avoiding the interaction to make it right. I hope that they can take this experience and learn how to handle the issue of a legitimate complaint and not take ownership and hide behind the cashier terminal.
Was on a layover waiting for my cruise. Peaked in to see whats good and was not disappointed. Noodles were great, broth was hearty, and the beef was tender. The Fried chicken was crisp and juicy. The dumplings in chili sauce were well cooked and not too spicy. Would go again if I lived in the area.
The service was excellent! The food is delicious!
Before going in, saw that they had special free bubble drink if you order more than $20 for dinner. After ordering and asking about the special, the waitress told us that the special promotion is over and they forgot to remove the sign displayed outside!!! We just left . deceptive advertising
Nice service , highly recommended .
Great service, good beef noodle
Delicious food
Nice little spot to enjoy during lunch. It s very busy and nice atmosphere. The portions were a little smaller than I would have expected for the price.
I ordered cold grass jelly milk tea with pearl but what they served me was regular hot milk tea I checked but no jelly was inside, but it was in my bill.... Maybe they were angry or something because what I ordered there was just a drink, but if I had to order food as well, they should have told me that instead of served me wrong drink
Good Taiwanese food, affordable and quick. The food is not too salty or too greasy. Overall I highly recommend it for a quick bite.
The staff is very nice and helpful. The environment is comfortable and clean to enjoy the food! The food looks very nice!!!
Yummy food and great service!
I ordered Kimchi Fried rice with nuggets and it came with a large portion. It tasted very delicious too! Highly recommend this place and will try other dishes next time!
Not many Taiwanese options downtown these days, Deer Alley fills that gap well.
Good food! I love the beef noodle!!
Nice quiet place, wonton soup is delicious. We came back even though we were only in Vancouver for 3 days!
Good food, good service
The Honey Lemon Tea is made from Nestea Lemon Tea Powder as opposed to using lemon juice. It was surprisingly refreshing trying a drink thats more catered towards the western palate every once and awhile. I ordered the Chicken Nuggets with Rice and was surprised at how authentic the seasoning for the chicken was. Its heavily seasoned (which I prefer) and was fresh from the fryer--very juicy. However, for the amount I paid, I expected a somewhat larger portion but given the location, it makes sense. If youre looking for more bang for your buck, I would recommend giving Wow Full Noodle House a try! But, this restaurants service was swift and is perfect for an officer workers lunch break.
This restaurant is conveniently located next to my office building so I decided to give it a try. It serves authentic Taiwanese food at a reasonable price. The service is good too. I will come back.
I always love bubble tea & Taiwanese popcorn chicken, this is great place to visit!
A great store with a warm environment. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is super nice.
Delicious
Excellent food! I enjoyed every single bite of the meal
Just picked up soup and some side dish - its amazing! The soup is beyond good it hit the spot!
Best Taiwaneses food in dt
We came at lunch time on a Monday and it wasnt too busy at 12. Once it got to around 12:30, all the tables were full. We ordered the chicken nuggets with noodles and braised pork rice. The braised pork rice was heavy on the rice. The pork itself was very fatty which I liked but the flavour was somewhat one dimensional. They are very generous with the portions here. The chicken nuggets with noodles in soup was also generous in price. Lots of noodles. The soup was plain but enjoyable as it off balanced the fried chicken. The fried chicken was okay. Not crispy enough and also not juicy enough. The food was mediocre overall. Not too pricey but not cheap either. Service wise - food came out a bit slow as it was busy but servers are nice and dont rush you even though its busy. I saw the tables around me and they were all eating rice and noodles dishes. Their portion sizes are definitely on the bigger size so keep that in mind when ordering. Its a nice addition to the downtown lunch scene when you are craving Asian food.
Very good lunch place with very good prices! Will come back often!
The food was very delicious and the service was great. I will come back.
Wonderful wonton soup beef noodles soup great server.
Just had the beef noodle soup, incredible flavour, insanely good! Will be lunching here regularly!
We ordered shrimp and egg fried rice, deep fried chicken nuggets and wanton soup large quantity and delicious food good hosts not very expensive the restaurant full on Friday 130 pm enjoyed our short stay all the best to the owners
Great place for work lunch! I would recommend that for my my teammates
Good work lunch spot. Good portion for the price. Popcorn chicken nuggets are excellent. Wonton soup is ok.
Good work lunch spot. Good portion for the price. chicken nuggets with fried rice are excellent.
Everything is perfect except Green Apple Green Tea. No green apples just green food colouring.
My recent visit to Deer Alley Restaurant left me utterly dissatisfied and frustrated. Despite placing an order 40 minutes in advance, I was forced to wait an additional 30 minutes beyond the promised time for my food. The portion sizes were shockingly small, and the purported Taiwanese cuisine lacked authenticity. The poor service and abysmal quality of their beverages further contributed to my disappointment. Here is a detailed account of my unfortunate experience at Deer Alley Restaurant. Late Delivery and Unreasonable Wait Time: Upon placing my order in advance, I expected a reasonable waiting time. However, I was disheartened when my food was not ready even after waiting an additional 30 minutes beyond the promised time. This prolonged delay left me hungry and frustrated, as the staff failed to communicate any valid reasons for the delay. Such a tardy delivery process is unacceptable, particularly when customers make efforts to order in advance. Ridiculously Small Portions: When my food finally arrived, I was shocked by the ridiculously small portion sizes. The dishes lacked substance, and it felt like I was being served appetizers instead of main courses. As someone familiar with Taiwanese cuisine, I can confidently state that Deer Alley Restaurants servings bore no resemblance to authentic Taiwanese food. The lack of attention to portion sizes severely impacted the overall dining experience and left me unsatisfied. Lack of Authenticity in Taiwanese Cuisine: Deer Alley Restaurant claims to serve Taiwanese food, but it was evident that their offerings fell short of the mark. The flavors were bland and lacked the complexity and depth that is characteristic of Taiwanese cuisine. The absence of traditional ingredients and the improper execution of staple dishes were major disappointments. I had high expectations for a truly authentic Taiwanese dining experience, but unfortunately, Deer Alley Restaurant failed to deliver. Unsatisfactory Service: The service at Deer Alley Restaurant was a major letdown. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, showing little regard for customers needs. Despite the extended wait time, no apologies were offered, and there was a general lack of communication. The unprofessionalism displayed by the staff members further soured my experience. It is disheartening to encounter such poor service in a supposedly reputable establishment. Subpar Beverages: To add insult to injury, the quality of the beverages at Deer Alley Restaurant was abysmal. I ordered a drink, which turned out to be one of the worst I have ever had. It was poorly made, lacking in flavor, and resembled a watered-down concoction. Given the variety of excellent beverage options available in the market, it is unfathomable that Deer Alley Restaurant would serve such a subpar drink. Conclusion: My visit to Deer Alley Restaurant was an overwhelmingly negative experience. The untimely delivery, meager portions, lack of authenticity in Taiwanese cuisine, unsatisfactory service, and the disappointing quality of beverages all combined to make it one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I would caution anyone seeking authentic Taiwanese cuisine and attentive service to look elsewhere. Deer Alley Restaurant has failed to live up to its promises and has left me with no desire to return.
Wow I had no idea the beef noodle soup was going to be this good. Right up there with the one or the old lao shan dong for beef noodle.
So impressed for the beef noodle soup traditional taiwaness food with good price and portion highly recommend and all my family love it
Great food. Rare to see a taiwanese restaurant in the core of downtown financial district. Good menu options. Went back today and had their curry pork. Their curry dishes are pretty bad.. watery. The pork was ground pork flattened into a pork chop. Stick with the noodles or rice dishes
A good find for Taiwanese food in downtown. Ill be back and Im bringing friends! Vegetarian options: Found a vegetarian mapo tofo tofu, delightfully spiced too!
Today I ordered a wonton noodle soup and hot vegetables The wonton noodle soup is super large, the noodles are full of flavor, and the wontons are also delicious. But I overestimated myself, and I couldnt finish it. Due to the variety issue, I think the blanched vegetables are pretty good except for the taste. The store staff are very kind and patient in answering my questions as a newbie in Canada~( ) A grateful heart.
average food and service.
Very authentic Taiwanese beef noodle, the best Ive tried in Downtown so far, but I felt like the broth seemed a bit heavy on MSG or otherwise gave that impression. EDIT: Second time the noodles were great, but the broth portion was a bit small relative to the noodles which made it seem rather like dry noodle, and my friend asked for no vegetables and still go them.
Good food with super friendly staff. Highly recommend for workday lunch :)
Very delicious food with nice service
We came in on a late Friday afternoon, just a short block from Holt Renfrew. Started off with a refreshing and flavorful Green Apple green tea. Followed by Chicken Nuggets and Wonton with Chilli. Finally completing our experience with QQ Mochi. The nuggets were crispy but not oily and yet so tender and juicy inside. Chilli oil were a perfect balance of spice with their homemade wonton, and fillings were soft yet bouncy. What to say about the Mochi other than QQ , just perfect! Great atmosphere, wonderful staff. Thank you, Chef Eric and your amazing team!
I love this place. A hidden gem in Vancouver Downtown.
Pretty authentic Taiwanese restaurant.
It s rare to see a Taiwanese restaurant Fried rice is delicious highly recommended Business was so good that I almost ended up late for class when I went to eat with my friends for the first time
The food is so so good!
I used to come here all the time when I used to live in DT, and theyre really good, and they still are really good. Their fried rices are top. I will recommend it definitely.
I ordered the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup to go on a miserable rainy day and it really hit the spot. It was so flavourful and the meat was really tender. I like that they separated the noodles and soup so it wouldn t get mushy. It was easy to order online and the tracker is handy to know when it will be ready. The wait was quick even during the lunch rush and service was friendly. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!
Good, authentic Taiwanese food!!!
This is my go to place for lunch. I love their Signature Taiwanese Beef Noodle!
The food is pretty good
LOVE THE BEEEF NOODLES HERE!! Must- try place!!
We got the Mapo Tofu with Rice, the chili wonton, and marinated eggs. The food was very good!
I m from Los Angeles and the beef noodle soup was better than some that I have had down there. Highly recommend this place for comforting Taiwanese food. Please check it out!
I got door dash from here and it was delicious. Bubble tea was also good.
Amazing braised beef noodle soup!
very good quality food .
A good little cafe style restaurant with decent price and food portion.
Wasnt expecting to stumble into an amazing bowl. Give it a try. Affordable and fresh ingredients. Food : 5/5
Best fried rice in DT!
Great place to go for Asian comfort food for lunch in downtown. Quick and efficient!
Great Taiwanese restaurant in downtown with reasonable prices. Beef noodle and chicken nuggets are top notch.
