Went on a Sunday and had the lunch buffet. Excellent spinach pekoras, chicken bryanni and chicken vindaloo. Fresh made Naan bread and dosage were brought to the table. My wife really enjoyed the Chai tea. Cant wait to go back and explore the menu.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the incredible service. The staff Bala was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

CONS - got the rasamalai mug cake and it was sour, got an upset stomach almost right after, no refund was given - all the curries taste basically the same - Kerla parotta is grocery store frozen parotta heated up and not authentic parotta (at $3 a piece??) PROS - service was ok - the restaurant itself in terms of aesthetics is nice

I have ordered Aloo Prantha and they served me with frozen Aloo Pranthas (they just heated up the frozen parathas from wallmart Very Disappointed If you can t cook paranthas then don t include in the menu. By the way coffee and Tea served is outstanding

Had a take out order later in evening so couldnt get everything I wanted - understandable as a lot of items are slow cooked. All the food received was good.

I was impressed with all aspects tbh.

Usually I review based on true experience, there were expectations for trying this place for a long time for me. However, they fell way too short for my expectations as the portion served is low especially for tandoori prawn (only 3 prawns in an appetizer is not acceptable by any restaurant standards). Taste wise decent for prawn, chicken and kothu parotta and chole bature was more of a poori than bature which isnt fluffy, chole was just boiled channa than a gravy and the egg noodles was burnt. Dosa, chutney, sambar was average as well. Service was very slow as they seem understaffed. Not sure we were victims during off days of the chef or staff, as the experience was not 50% of hype.

We sat on the patio for breakfast and it was almost empty but still very nice. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced and the service was excellent. It was not quick but we werent in a hurry and I assume they were making things fresh. They were out of a few things but the server listed them all right away. There are lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. We had Indian breakfast dishes but the other breakfast choices also look good and well be back soon to try them.

Food was tasteless. Cant get why they got 4.5/5 on maps. Wouldnt recommend this. Food

Food was excellent, service was good , only problem was the glass or the water was stinking we had to buy water bottles . And they had a lot of bees which ended up in my delicious mango lassi lol

I went there today to eat, and was seated at a small table very close to the door. We asked if it was possible to switch tables and the waitress sighed loudly, picked up our water and then stormed off. She didnt even say anything, so we werent sure if we could switch tables. Eventually we assumed that we could switch tables so we followed her. The new table was super unstable and so the water in the glasses quickly spilled over the entire table. With the experience already having been unpleasant within the first 2 mins we were there we just decided to leave.

Extremely rude waitress. Clearly does not like her job or helping customers. Will not come back.

Wow India has delicious food with reasonable prices. The service was good and it has authentic Indian food. We spent the whole afternoon here and they didnt kick us out . The food was served in a well-paced manner, and it was amazing. We will be coming back.

I went with my family and had a great time. The food was absolutely delicious. We received the food fast despite only one chef working in the kitchen. Overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend to go there with your family.

Cute little restaurant. Atmosphere is nice and staff are very welcoming. Would benefit from some sound-blocking panels, as it gets quite loud when the restaurant is full of chatter. I asked for mild spice, still found a basic staple dish too spicy & staff was quick to help with that lovely yogurt to mix in. Everyone found their food tasty & fresh; butter chicken, butter chicken poutine, saffron rice being the fan favourites.

Nehaa our server was awesome the food was great as usual my only problem is when I pay 125 and change for two adults and one child I would like to eat together what I got was my partner eat first then they delivered mine and last was the childs dish

Rated minus 10. We came to stay at the WOW India AirBnb, upstairs of the restaurant. The worst living conditions for 10 people either a dirty 1 bathroom. Dirty couch, dirty beds and unbearable. Rated 000. How can anyone rent this place to any human!!

Clean, delicious food, friendly servers, good price with multiple $15 plate options. Most of the kids menu items were unavailable when I visited. I had the butter chicken poutine, recommend trying it. Vegetarian options: They have various vegetarian options, clearly indicated on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Have gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. Parking: Parking beside the restaurant access from a side street and a large parking lot on the other side of Montreal road. Kid-friendliness: They have one highchair, staff were ok with kids running around.

Wow India A Hidden Gem in Vanier! I had the pleasure of dining at Wow India last Friday, and I have to say, this place is an absolute gem in Vanier, an area not typically known for standout restaurants. From the moment we walked in, the service was reminiscent of pre-pandemic levels attentive, friendly, and personal. It felt like the staff genuinely cared about making sure we had an excellent dining experience. The food was incredible, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every dish we tried was prepared to perfection, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation. The experience was so enjoyable that I m already looking forward to my next visit! If youre craving authentic Indian cuisine with excellent service, Wow India is definitely worth checking out.

I got the bad food and ordered the roti but there is no sault and overcooked, also orderd samosa chat but there is no green chutney .overall, there is something missing in the food amd they just busy with their stuff and didn t provide the service.

Updated Review: Weve now been there several times and each time, the service and food are excellent. Original Review: First time today - will not be my last. We had the Mango Pistachio Lassi, Samosa Chat, Chettinad Chicken Dosa and the Idly Manchurian. All were very good. The server was really helpful and pleasant. The Samosa Chat had a unique taste, mixed with traditional flavours but with a twist (which is why this place is a fusion restaurant. The idli was a new texture to me and I will certainly try it again in another dish. Thank you for bringing this fusion to this neighbourhood.

I m writing this after tasting their recent Keda Virunthu for lunch. It was excellent taste and we really liked their seeraga sambha mutton biriyani, South Indian fish gravy, fish fry, okra puli kulambu and their ilaneer payasam. Very very nice and I would recommend this meal any day if offered. The best South Indian meal I ve had in ottawa by far

Had some of the best chef style chicken tikka, veg pakoras, garlic naan and dal makhni today, the waitress Neha saw that I was not feeling well so she recommended me the rasam which was exquisite, attention to detail for every dish and the hospitality provided by the restaurant really made me feel like eating at one of the top restaurants.

Had banana leaf virundhu and everything was amazing and authentic south indian dishes. Best pLace in ottawa if you are craving for south indian food. Spice level is manageable not too hot and lots of options for veg and non veg. Only place that provide jeeragha smabha biryani

Went there twice, and both times, food tasted extremely good, and friendly service. The portions are just a bit to small for the price. Everything like bread, and rice to go with curry is sold separately.

I have been to the Cornwall location and it was delicious, so I wanted to try the one in Ottawa. Wow India is just that WOW. Form being greeted by a friendly and beautiful Neha to the delicious fish and belh puri to the dosa everything was just perfect. We will definitely come back for more of it all and would love to enjoy the beautiful patio next time .

When you randomly choose a dining spot, casually strolling in on a cold rainy day. Take a seat and casually notice the cutleries arranged in fine dining order. You know you are up for a treat. We had the briyani and mutton vindaloo and a mint butter naan and mango pistachcio lassi. Which were all awesome. And worth a try. Having said that, the portions were huge and if I were to come and order again, I would mix the vindaloo with more naan instead of the briyani. Their naans are just so awesome!! Dont worry about ordering, you can order the naan as they get prepared in less than a minute!

We ordered chicken biryani and the chicken was uncooked. It looked so bad that I almost threw up. It is not just the chicken but the spices used didn t feel like it was made from scratch but was made from store bought biryani masala. Sorry to say but I don t think I would ever order anything from here. Food

Food was good, there is no denying that. However, I was looking forward to having draught beer with my meal. Their website and menu said they had it. Once we showed up, and already started ordering, only then did they informed they had no draught and nothing good in bottles either. As silly as it may seem, it made me very disappointed.

Since when is it acceptable to sell burnt roti? My husband (who isnt an Indian) requested for roti for me and this is what they gave him! 90% of it is super burnt and idk what this is, it doesnt even look or taste like roti. I am currently at the hospital about to go into active labour and really craved for roti and this is what I got. Im so disappointed

Wow India is such a pleasant surprise! Flavourful, mouthwatering and delicious Indian food to be discovered tucked out of the way on Montreal Road in the heart of Vanier. We sat out on the patio and absorbed the local character with a cold drink. The tandoori oven provides unbelievable flavours and natural blackening essance to anything it receives. We tried the paneer and it came out just perfect, on a sizzling plate with onions and green pepper dripping in tantalizing heat. Home after a spicy chicken dish, my mouth still tingles from the 16 infused spices. Do yourself a favour and go go go.

My New Delhi-born spouse and I have been to many Indian restaurants in Ottawa over the past 30 years but this was our first (although it certainly wont be our last) time here. Very friendly team service - shout out to our primary server, Bala. As a stereotypically White North American, I very much appreciated that most dishes are offered in a variety of spice settings, including mild. My spouse chose a spicier vindaloo as her main. This fusion restaurant offers Italian-inspired items and butter chicken poutine but we stuck to more traditional Indian fare. Both alcohol and Indian soft drinks are available. WOW India is a Vanier restaurant suitably priced for local residents with most items under $20. Décor is basic, also typically Vanier.

Weve had Wow twice now, and both times have been outstanding. Tonight was our first dine-in experience, and the atmosphere, service, and food could not have been better. Both my wife and I tried their dosas on the servers recommendation.

Not to be rude to the chefs - but there is nothing wow about this place. Most high reviews are from non natives to the origin gif the cuisine-so not surprised with the overall review. Appreciating that this is a Fusion Indian restaurant - we hadn t ordered anything fusion from the menu so expected some authenticity. - Aloo Tiki Chat : not bad, good to be some more Tiki and Chana of better quality - chilly Babycorn : was so so, nothing exceptional about it. A lot of coating, making the actually babycorn in each bite non existent - Hyderabad Goat Curry : very questionable quality of goat. The gravy as well seemed like a tomato purée with some bottled sauce and cooked. Disappointment. - chicken Hyderabadi dum biriyani : seemed more Tamilian/Karnatakan the way the rice was flavoured, definitely not Hyderabadi. Chicken - undercooked, a good sign of Dum cooking not perfected. All in all, for a genuine Indian eat - give this place a pass. For a good westernized (fusioned) sub standard experience with good quantity (not quality) go ahead and have a meal.

I was there with my friend and the experience was not really good, I ordered Dosa and Aloo Tikki, The manager was non sense didn t knew how to serve and talk to customers (annoying). He was messing up with me for making the food the customised as I didn t wanted the yogurt and teaching me how the dish is authentically served can not be changed. Bro seriously I am Indian as well I know how to order. Even they were charging extra $4 for the extra sambar although the quantity was not even enough for one person.

We tried soups, appetizers and meals, all were delicious. Our server Bala was great too.

All I can say is wow! The meal was absolutely delicious. Our server was kind, attentive, and had a sweet smile. My mom and I ordered the chicken korma and samosas and they were presented beautifully and tasted equally fantastic. The naan bread was fresh and tasty. We will be back again soon! Thank you for a lovely dining experience. I ve eaten at the Cornwall location as well which was also wonderful.

The food here is amazing. The lamb korma is the best Ive ever had and the wow chicken biryani was top notch as well. Big portions, fast service. Lots of sauce left over which we took home and are now enjoying. Highly recommend

Tried the lunch buffet for the first time and didnt have a very good experience. The place is in the main road with parking which is good. fairly clean. The staffs looked pleasant but food was very disappointing. I started with the fruits and they werent fresh at all. It tasted bad that I almost had to spit em out . The potato salad was not bad. The green salad looked dry and sad. The tandoori chicken was NOT tandoori chicken. No flavour at all and the meat wasnt fresh. The rotis were chewy and cold. For the price $28 + tax ,they had way less options and the quality of the food was poor. it was definitely not worth it.

Absolutely wonderful food, the watermelon salad was a must have. This will be one of our goto restaurants.

We arrived at lunch on a Saturday and sat on the terrace. We went to ask for a waiter to see us as the sign said. Our awesome waiter, Bala, promptly took our drink orders and when he brought them, he took the food orders (standard stuff). He was very helpful in explaining the menu items we were curious about and had a smile the whole time. The food did take a while to come out, but once we received it we knew why.. everything is made fresh to order, and is delicious! Thank you Bala for the great service, and we will be stopping in during our next visit to Ottawa.

The food came with excessive oil and Food color. The food color was so used us such an excessive quantity that it s been 2 days now and my fingers are still colored in red. BTW we had a dark blood red colored Paneer Tikka masala.

The noodles didn t have any noodles it was only full of veggies.

Saw the amazing 5 star review section and wanted to try the restaurant just to be disappointed later. The food is inferior Indian food and not the best. I see a lot of non Indian reviews here and if you are non Indian and want to try something new, this could be a ok place to start with.

The tandoori chicken was absolutely disgusting and the mint chutney wasn t good either. I haven t tried anything else on the menu but very disappointing for the price I paid and even tipped.

What a shame on the name of India, I have tried many Indian restaurants in Ottawa but the food that I got served today was the worst. Hakka noodles were 80% veggies, we barely could see any noodles and they were bland. Also, the service is a torture, 30-40 minutes of wait just to get a side or a drink. Tandoori roti was uncooked. Oily, food colours, not fresh, bad stomach next day. Highly recommend to go to any other Indian restaurant. Not even a single dish was good out of 8 that we ordered.

Their butter chicken and naan was absolutely delicious. Tried the Nutella dosa and it was a new tasty experience. Their gulab jamun was sooooo soft and melted in my mouth. Never knew it could even be cooked to that level!!! Very attentive waitress and manager. Really cared about their customers and looked clean and cozy. Would definitely go again.

Food is delicious !! Service is friendly. Con, when ordering the chai tea, it came in this ceramic tea cup, which is nice from the traditional point of view, but it was WAY too hot and inconvenient. Even the server had to use paper towels to handle these cups. You can easily burn your fingers-luckily I didn t have a child at my table. I would highly recommend a cup with a handle. Without saying anything, my guest I had with me mentioned it as well. Apart from that, I would go again for the food! Garlic naan is addicting.

Quality of food wasn t good enough and price was way too high according to taste.

A larger menu than I expected. Some unique cocktails. The food was delicious and the service was excellent (Jenny was friendly and happy to answer questions). Water refills were quick and frequent. Never had to wait to order more. The food came fairly quickly. The air blowing from the ceiling vents was a bit cold but otherwise the atmosphere was good. The music was a good volume. Vegetarian options: Shared the Sambar Medu Vada for an appetizer and it was delicious! Had Kadai masala with cauliflower and mushrooms. All the sauces had a lovely flavour.

My partner and I went for an impromptu dinner. Service was amazing. The food was so delicious! Everything came out piping hot we will be back. I want to try the desserts, but we were too stuffed from the delicious dinner! Also the patio will be open in 1 to 2 days Parking: Lots of free street parking for 2 hours on the side street that the door is located on

Just finished eating here was the worst service ever. Waiting an hour for an appetizer salad-yes a salad which requires no cooking. People who came in after us had meals before I even had my salad. They finally brought my husbands app soup which was eaten by him before my salad arrived. It no sooner hit the table then they brought our meals. The owner had the audacity to come over and apologize and said he d cover our drinks (2 club sodas) thanks for the whole $3.00. Then I m sure as he saw my face he offered to cover our desserts - which when our meal was over the server offered only 1 dessert! The food was underwhelming at best. I would suggest you NEVER eat here. It s not 4.6-at best 1.6. I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my entire life!!!!

Tried them for the first time and it is one of those Indian restaurants with a unique menu. They definitely WOW you with the taste and very impressive in all the categories (ambience, menu, taste and service). Wishing the best and will definitely come back.

Food was great, we ordered the wow dosa and wow biriyani. Minus one star for cleanliness, especially the washrooms.

Chef Style Tikka Chicken was so tender and flavourful! Great price but mostly, flipping delicious! I had a beer, an app and a meal for $37!

What a find! Amazing food, lovely atmosphere on the patio and such kind service from the manager Moosh, server Jenny and chef Boopathi. Highly recommend the vindaloo, butter chicken and pakora! We will be back soon!

Different and well prepared food

Really friendly service and great food! We finally got around to coming in person to get dosa. We ordered the paneer masala dosa, which comes with the big rolled pancake we were used to, and the Chettinad chicken Kal dosa, which was a kind of dosa we werent familiar with that has toppings on a smaller, fluffier pancake. We also got appetizers and lassis. They food did not disappoint, both dosas were fantastic! We sat on their newly opened patio. They really brightened it up from what it was before! The only small drawback is one of us was staring into the parking lot, but I think they said they still have plans to spruce up the outside a bit and make that nicer too.

Amazing food and service. The chefs chicken appetizer was so flavourful. All the items we ordered tasted so good! The chai was a nice end to the meal.

Definitely give this a try. I had the veggie version of their Masala curry. Veggies had great texture as did the curry and the spicing flavour was really good with lots of depth in spices. That and 1 Naan bread was a good sized meal for one. Afterwards i picked out my next meal as i will be returning to try more.

Never want to visit the restaurant again, bland food, visually not appealing food, atmosphere is very dull no vibes. All the items I ordered were bad and no quality Indian food found ,Owner feels like zombie.

Lovely interior, friendly staff and absolutely delicious food! We loved the Wow biryani and potato-based dosa with diverse and complementary homemade sauces and chutney. The only reason I didnt give five s is because of the lengthy wait for our food. However, the manager came to us and apologized for the delay (due to other orders) and brought us a small appetizer. Luckily, we had just enough time, and the food was truly delightful. We will definitely return and would certainly recommend Wow India to anyone who enjoys Indian and fusion cuisine. Waited almost an hour for my lamb biryani, the staff was very apologetic and kind. The place was quite busy with takeout and eat in diners. Other than the wait the lamb biryani and mango cheesecake were amazing, the flavours MMMMM! It was well worth the long drive from Buckingham! Can t wait to go again and order the dosas, they looked so good! Disappointed about the wait but the food was well worth it!

My work colleagues and I have been going there weekly since they opened in 2023. We absolutely love the food, the people, and the place. They are licensed with a good selection of beer (draft and bottle). It is the best Indian food and experience in Ottawa in my opinion.

Their food its wow , like the name of their restaurant, u can feel all the flavours while eating , i recommend everyone to go there
