My experience at Gaj was great! The food was so goood and authentic. The chilli paneer is a must try! The staff is very kind and helpful.
The food is very good and authentic. Everything was delicious. We loved it. A must try!!
Wonderful staff, kind and attentive. The food was very tasty and delicious. Butter chicken was the best I've ever had. Lamb was tender and perfectly spiced. And the naan was warm and chewy, melt in your mouth. Definitely coming back!! Keep up the great work! 😊
We only come here for Indian cuisine. Exceptionally well run family restaurant. Amazing service and food. 10/10 would recommend.
We’ve been here several times and it just gets better and better. Minesh delivers a personalized, warm and professional service, always making great recommendations. The food is always fresh , delicious and the value is second to none. We can’t wait to come back!!!
This place is next level, well worth the drive. Great selection, awesome flavour, nice portions and fantastic ambiance.
Delicious foods and very friendly service! Will definitely go back and highly recommend..
Stopped in for lunch. A very reasonably priced tray of Lamb, chicken leg, rice and vegetables. Comes with a fresh Nan bread and a canned soft-drink. The food was hot (temperature) and well seasoned. It was mild in terms of spices but great. I felt I made a good choice and would return. Friendly service as well.
Really good thank you delicious
Best Indian restaurant in the region!
Great food, great service. New favourite spot!
Delicious food, amazing service. We ll definitely be back!
One of our favorites
Excellent food and services highly recommend!!!!
Clean and pretty restaurant, kind and helpful service, the food is amazing and at a good price point. Many options to choose from Vegetarian options: There s a whole section on the menu for vegetarian options
The absolute best Indian food in the area run by the nicest man. Highly recommended !
Great food full of flavours. Great service and BYOB! Very friendly staff. By far our favorite Indian restaurant. Keep up the good work!
Grossly overpriced, the butter chicken did not taste anything like a butter chicken, the portions were very small. Unfortunately I would not recommend eating here, I frequent many Indian restaurants
This owner has no kindness or empathy with injured people and always takes discretion with his Dasher and his customers if you are not delivered please thank him and contact the owner
Vegetarian options: Delicious Dietary restrictions: Fish an Seafood allergies Food : 5/5 |
Food is the best! Friendly people!
We love this restaurant. Food is great and the people that work there are warm and attentive. It has become one of our regulars for the last 10 years.
The best!! We are regular client and the food and service are perfect.
Very nice place, good food, they take care of their customers very well.
So good!!!
Amazing food! Amazing service! Very Good price! The owner is a real gentleman.
Best restaurant in Vaudreuil!! If you like authentic indian food, this is the place for you. This resto NEVER disappoints. We love Gaj!!
This is the best restaurant in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in addition to being the cleanest!! the tables are always impeccable, like new the quality of food and service are always top notch And the owners are very kind and understanding to adjust the spice intensity. A real pleasure to eat there!
Delicious, very reasonable price for the quantity and above all the quality of the food and impeccable service!! 10/10 Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options
Really good, I go back often
Excellent restaurant. There are approx. 38 places with enough space. Very courteous service. Nice atmosphere and not too noisy. Varied menu. The food is beyond delicious, fresh made and good portion. Not too much oil. Spicy but without hiding the flavors of the dishes. The essentials in the photos: vegetarian samosa, chicken curry which is magical as well as the chicken kadhai. Not forgetting the garlic Naan and lamb biryani rice. We ordered twice at the same meal. The tandoori chicken is juicy. Very refreshing homemade milk and pistachios/honey/rose water dessert. I will definitely return. To try if it is not already the case. I would have given it 6/5 if I could have.
Food was great good price too
Amazing food, great first time. Loved the combo butter chicken!
We absolutely loved the food at this restaurant. I am born in India and am very particular of good quality home made Indian food. This place exceeded our expectations. Wow! The fact that the family members are involved in overseeing the process is a bonus. You feel the love, passion and devotion in their meals. In short, this restaurant is a gem. Namaste!
Always great food a service
Best Indian cuisine in the region The owners and staff are so kind
Had takeout. Not gonna lie, the food had a pretty great taste. However, boy-o-boy did it left us on our appetite and wanting more (for reference, we are 2 relatively average eaters). The portions were small, and we actually ended up adding a bit of our own leftovers to compensate for their sizes. Both our chicken and lamb meals ended up being between 2/3 and 3/4 sauce, with only a few actual pieces of meat per meal. That was quite underwhelming considering the almost ~20$ price tag for each of these items. On the plus side, the rice portion was nice.
Its really very good, honestly, come and try
Delicious food. One must try. Very good service. All time favourite
Best food. Very good service. Authentic Indian flavour food
Lovely food. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
Amazingly good. Affordable prices. Awesome service. Best restaurant in town. Small and intimate
Love the food! Wished the tally was served all day even if more expensive in the evening.
We tried several Indian restaurants in the region, and Gaj tastes authentic/different...
The owners always greet me with friendliness and remember my name. The food is yummy. We have dined in but mainly order to go. In any case, we have always been satisfied with the food.
Nice little restaurant, comfortable, friendly staff, waited just a little longer than wanted for food(restaurant was 3/4 full on a Saturday at 6 pm) food was delicious, great naan - very light, butter chicken and lamb korma were very tasty, each dish is individual serving, finished the meal with a mango lassi - was great 4.5 stars Parking: Large parking area
Very tasty food and very good service !!! Parking: The best Indiana food in all area
Wonderful Indian cusine perfet sized portions great spice with heat creeping in at the end had the one chillies option. Yum go again in a heart beat.
Always good! Great portions and delicious food. Friendly service
Don t be cheated. Literary three pieces of chicken in a watery sauce, is what they call butter chicken. Won t believe me? Try it for yourself.
Definitely not the real vindaloo sauce.
Gaj is the only restaurant I can order 3 nights a week and never get tired of the taste. Best indian restaurant off island.
On top of the overpriced food, the owner or manager has zero regard for people beyond squeezing money out of them. Completely unprofessional and belligerent.
Owner/Manager was abusive and rude!
Excellent samosas!
Horrible food. They water down everything. Add sugar in everything. Overly priced. This is coming from an Indian who eats Indian food every day. This does not compare to any of the indian restaurants in the west island or downtown. Really bad food.
Super good!
Great authentic Indian restaurant runned by the family. The food was delicious and we received impeccable service by the owner him self. Thank you
Excellent dishes (delicious vegetable byriani and dahl lentils) naan cooked to order served hot from the oven - very reasonable prices. Vegetarian options: Two full pages of vegetarian dishes! A treat :)
Hidden gem for Indian snacks! We tried papdi chat and haven t tasted anything close to it in Montreal yet. I couldn t resist to ask about recipe and they mentioned that they cook their own papdi to maintain authenticity of India street food. Samosas were really good too!! I was asking for dabeli and vada pav and it seems that those items don t have demand. I request ppl to share your food desires with restaurant owners so that they can assess market demand, they don t have a platform where they can seek this information today. So please make an effort and express! This business is run by a family and I have to say that it felt like visiting a family more than a restaurant. I absolutely enjoyed my food here and I request my Indian community to come forward to support this restaurant, they can definitely use some encouragement! PS: I wasn t paid to write this review. This review is my real experience.
We always take to bring! Excellent!!!
Excellent product quality and wonderful customer service.
Deliciously authentic flavors, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance. This place is a must-visit for Indian cuisine enthusiasts. Highly recommended!
Sorry but this would be a Thumbs down! Poor food quality, unfriendly service. Person taking orders on the phone needs to have a bit more respect towards customers or should not be in customer service period! I cannot recommend this restaurant for food quality, value or service!! Horrible experience at Gaj!
An excellent place for Indian food . Food is yummy with proper balance of spices and masalas . We took the leftovers and next day when I ate it tasted as fresh as last night . Naan was so soft and remained fresh .
Incredible authentic and fresh indian food. A taste of India on right on your plate. Well priced and a charming cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.
Excellent restaurant, the cuisine is extraordinary and above all the owner is welcoming and takes great care of you
I love indian food and this place never dissapoints! Worth the visit!
Over priced. And portion is also not sufficient. We reached there at 0220 wheb they started to take order it was 0230 and refused to serve us thali, we though asked them again but they declined Thats ridiculous and absurd. Will never go there again.
Simply illogical the owner. If you are at my house and ordering you have a 50/50 chance that your order will be canceled because he makes a fuss every time and refuses to give us the order.
Excellent food quality and excellent service.
Butter chicken is excellent and the service is very nice
I have been eating here for almost 10 yrs. This cozy restaurant has very hospitable hosts, delicious homemade dishes and wonderful desserts. Though I have eaten at other Indian restaurants in Vaudreuil, GAJ is truly something special. This past summer 2023, I brought my mum and she loved it. She always prefers to eat her own homemade food and as we are also Indian, saying everything is authentic and tasty is such a compliment for GAJ. I recommend GAJ to everyone! I would like you to try it once and I bet you go back again and again.
Fast and great service. Best butter chicken in town!!
Tables fairly close together, excellent service, good food, copious plates, cleanliness of the place
Excellent food and service with a smile! Vegetarian options: plenty of tasty vegetarian options. Food : 5/5 |
The said chicken leg but they only give you the drumstick They sell a chicken leg on the menu but only give the drumstick
This is an amazing restaurant with delicious food and very kind people! I always come here when Im in need of samosa!
Tried all the Indian restaurants in the area and by far the best made food. Their lamb platter was amazing.
Best Indian food in the West Island! Comforting and tasty meals. The Korma chicken is a must. We are also always very well received. THANKS! __ Best West Island Indian food! Comforting and tasty meals. Chicken Korma is a must. Also, we are always well received. Thank you!
Excellent restaurant at a reasonable price
Returning to restaurants will be a welcome activity, as it for us recently. Food was delicious and satisfying, making for a great experience.
The samosas are excellent. Their entire menu is really good.
The ratings are so deceiving!! I ordered baingan bharta (pic below) the egg plant was pureed to a pulp, was a more like dal than baingan, terrible consistency! The lamb bhuna, apparently their special was horrible too, the tandoori chicken was not even done in a tandoori. We had to throw away all this food which was such a waste of money and food. The only edible thing was the chicken biryani, due to which Ive given then 1 star. Truly disappointing experience, Never going back. Id like to add the second picture from Google..baingan bhartha is mashed eggplant not pureed eggplant. Its like saying mashed potatoes is the same as making a puree out of boiled potatoes. If you know then you know. I rest my case.
Highly recommend! I wish I didnt eat anything for days and go to GAJ and have everything! Food is fantastic. Chicken tikka is one of the best I have had.
Tiny tiny portion...service good.
Place is spotless, service is friendly, and the food is carefully prepared. The only reason for not giving 5 stars for me is that the portion size of some dishes is really not generous enough for the price.
Excellent quality and really fresh but lacklustre portion size makes for an ok experience. Inflation is rough for sure, but cost-to-portion size just wasnt great.
Fantastic little Indian restaurant. Very personable owner. Attentive service. Delicious chicken tikka massala and naan bread. Butter chicken is sweet and also delicious. I drive 40 minutes to come here.
My go-to restaurant for Indian food. Great service and delicious food.
Always delicious food and great service.
Dont waste your money.
Garlic naan bread with the Paneer dish is my go to and its always awesome
Food is great but portions became smaller when COVID started. Hope they bring it back to original portions.
Based on food portion sizes and price since covid, I will never order again. But the taste is good! So if youre willing to spend $100 on rice and bread its cool.
I have waited years to try this place. Ordered via Ubereats. Food was underwellming, cold and very small quantities for the price. It took almost 2 hours and they tried to blame it on the Uber driver. There are much better Indian restaurants in the area. Very disappointed.
Amazing Food, Amazing Service Will definitely be back Vegetarian options: There is An Entire Page devoted to Vegetarian options.
The restaurant is clean and offers delicious Indian food.
Absolutely Perfect and delicious meal, friendly service!
Amazing food, cozy atmosphere. The owner offers great service! He even accommodated my request for a not-so-spicy dish Will definitely come back!
Delicious Indian restaurant with such courteous staff! Lots of tasty choices on the menu. Always a pure pleasure to come and dine in this restaurant. I recommend it without hesitation, you will be delighted!
Amazing food !! Its more of a homecooked cuisine made with love type of cuisine than the typical restaurant experience. It was our second visit to Gaj yesterday and its definetely the best ! You must try it!! + you can bring your wine Food
Simply delicious.
Hands down the best Indian food spot. Butter chicken is phenomenal and the Naan bread is home made and sooo good.
Great Indian restaurant, it would be hard to find a better Indian Restaurant in the Montreal area. The food is excellent, home cooked authentic dishes. The staff will bend over backwards to please. Love the BYOB. Food
Good food.
I am giving 2 and am being generous, only because of the good taste, but the portion does not really deserve the price given, we ordered butter chicken, and biryani chicken. Butter chicken tasted very good but barely had any chicken, it felt like its a soup much more than chicken, had 4 small pieces of chicken, biryani is even worse, it came with a lot of spiced rice, also 4 or 5 SMALL pieces of chicken,(you can barely find the chicken) if they really calculate the chicken that they put it wont cost them 1 or 2 $ of chicken, yet i paid nearly 50$ with the nun bread, i wish they were not cheap with their costumers like that, never going back again.
Takeout was excellent. Has always been very good but last night Lamb Korma and Garlic Nan were absolutely delish ! Best its ever been.
My husband and I ordered takeout from Gaj today and it was perfect! We ordered 2 chicken dishes/sauce, chana masala, chiken biryani and naan and everything was plentiful, fresh and delicious. Ive had Indian food in Montreal ( Park-Ex) and Toronto and Gaj is up there in taste and quality. Thank you Gaj and Keep up the good work!
They are soo nice and helpful and the food soo good 100% recommend
I will never order from here again. Low quality and bland, way over priced and low portions. If you are thinking of getting Indian food try somewhere else.
The palak with paneer is one of the best Ive ever tasted.
Welcoming staff, good service, excellent typical Indian dishes. The best butter chicken ever eaten, delicious! I guarantee you that To try it is to adopt it .
Service exclusively in English!!? You speak French and respond in English! Blatant disrespect! It looks like an Indian Beautiful Province because the dishes are not that good... Small quantities served. Its not worth the detour
Love the food I am addicted to that place now. Delicious fish and chicken pakora even the butter chicken yummy
Food is incredible. Pricey but the price represents well the quality of the food. They did not add an excessive amount of oil to my meal; I didnt have to scoop out the fat out. I also appreciated how little salt he added... wasnt too salty I felt like it was made with love...
Amazing food & Great service
For someone who loves Indian food, I find this place a lil pricy, portions are small, service was ok. I would personally not go here again, there are cheaper places. I have to say food was delicious.
First time and it was fantastic. Took the butter chicken it has a hint of sweetness but with a little heat just great. The rice was perfect not to dry. Samosas vegetarian were good too. Will order out again. Price average.
Sadly not worth the price. The portions are small and the food isn t that good. I will not be going back. There are other Indian restaurants in Montreal that are way better and worth the price.
Phenomenal experience with this local restaurant. Had them cater a 10 person gathering, delivered to my home. Service and food was top notch. Generous portions and super yummy!
Great dining experience. Ordered 4 separate plates and shared amongst us 5, along with basmati rice and naan bread. Meal was tasty and great. Service was quick, and waiter was helpful and patient in explaining the details of the extensive menu. Highly
Whats wrong with this picture? Nothing! It shows a perfect variety of well-portioned, delicious Indian food. Its also Gajs lunch special C) and comes with a drink. Dont understand how people can rate this place anything below four stars. Clean (including the washroom!), quick and friendly service, and tasty everything. Love it.
The best Indian food I have tried in the area Delicious and 5/5 Tried their naan, tandoori naan, lamb kadhai, chicken tikka and Gulab Jamun
Excellent food, excellent service. This is our favourite place in the region.
Such amazing food and even amazing people. Must visit
Delicious food! The flavours are outstanding! Our group tried a range of dishes and each dish was better than the last. Thoroughly enjoyable, we will be back!
Ordered butter chicken and I can say with confidence this is not standard butter chicken I would much more qualify it as a sweet chicken with tonnes of sugar and was throughly disappointed.
Best indian restaurant in Montreal! Highly recommend the butter chicken, tika masala and garlic Naan! Excellent service and reasonnable prices.
Best Indian food off island with the nicest owners and staff of basically any restaurant Ive ever been to.
The food is good and with a good price
Warm welcome, excellent service, delicious dishes
Small restaurant
Small portions of food taste is great but I felt like my food was half eaten. Also the rice was a little bit dry
Onion bhaji was good. Naan was good. Otherwise, we did not like the food (samosa, sauce, matter paneer, chicken tikka masala).
Ordered from here the other night. It was good. Very reasonably priced.
Ordered the butter chicken. To say the least, it was extremely underwhelming. Will not be back.
Very fast and quality service. With equally good food!
Incredible!
We order often from here, chicken and lamb biryani are AMAZING!(spicy ) Onion bahji are my favorite here!
Delicious food but a bit expensive.
This place was a great discovery! My wife and I ordered from this place several times now and we were always extremely satisfied. Flavours are always on point and staff is very friendly. I recommend the Garlic Naan, the Korma Lamb, onion Bhajis and also the Vegetarian Samosa.
We ordered in recently and Im sad to say it was a disappointing meal. The portion sizes are greatly lacking given that theyre more expensive than other Indian restaurants throughout Vaudreuil. On top of that they dont come with a choice of rice/naan. The lamb curry was bland and watered down to the point that it separated and made a pool of clear liquid in the middle of my plate. The naan is also thinner than expected, though it was still enjoyable. The saving grace of our meal was the palak paneer, which we enjoyed thoroughly. I understand its been a tough year for restaurants but the quality of the food has been reduced too much for me to return.
Excellent sauces!!!
Love the food here. Butter chicken is amazing. Nan bread freshly made. Curry chickpea is the best. Good job.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly owners and employees.
Excellent
Great food, super service
love this place!
If you are looking for some really good Indian food. This is the place. Their nans are great. My favorite is their lamb korma if you like it sweet. We have tried many different dishes and seriously everything is good. Prices are reasonable. Friendly staff. Service is fairly quick if the restaurant is not full. Lots of people get their food to go partly because the decor is just so so, I guess. You dont go there for the ambience (hence the 4 stars). Bring your own wine.
The food is extremely good and the service is impeccable.
Very good food portions were not as big as I thought but very filling anyway
If you are a self-respecting/conscientious French speaker and for whom being served in English is an obvious irritant, then dont go there. Great lack of consideration. I find that very contemptuous of them.
Great service
Ordered food for take out and it was just ok. The chicken tikka masala was moist but the sauce was bland and was missing spice. I also ordered the channa samosa which was a mistake because its obvious they dont care about take out. They added the channa to the samosa as well as the chutney and yogurt all in one container so by the time I got home it was just a container of hot mess. The chutney was way too sweet and ruined the channa and because they put it all together, the samosa basically disappeared into it, was very soggy. Also the chickpeas were undercooked so not really impressed with them. Honestly the best part of my meal was the rice. Even the naan bread was bland and very chewy. I give it the 3 stars because the person taking the order over the phone was very pleasant to talk to, otherwise I wouldve given it lower
Very Expensive compare to food
X c is good, but thats it! We are not in gastronomy, its more like a Saint-Hubert of the Indian ... The decor doesnt look like much and its tiny. Only three or four tables. They leave the TV on, what a horror! They do not speak French, which is illegal in Quebec where French is the official language, and obligatory in businesses, public services, etc. And its a real shame not to speak the official language of a place where weve lived for about 10 or 15 years!!...like them! History of Quebec 101:. Bill 101?, if we fought to have it adopted it was because it was impossible to be answered in our mother tongue even though we were predominantly French-speaking in Quebec since the invasion of French Canada by the British. 250 years after the As a Muslim woman said on television, Quebec is not a country. No, maam, its a province... whose cultural identity survived, and very well indeed, the invasion of the English, and for your information, you must respect its laws. After all, wasnt it because of our laws that you chose us as your home?! So go to our restaurants but demand that we respect Quebec law and if it is impossible to make yourself understood in French, even if like me you speak more than two languages, three, four or five..., PLEASE: get out of this place and go eat elsewhere: this will be proof that you respect Quebecers, your adopted people.
This place is absolutely amazing. The food is authentic and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to leave with their stomach full and a smile.
It was very good experience. The food was delicious and specially the tea we ordered at the end was amazing.
Great butter chicken and everything else is awsome too
Never trust a restaurant with dark lights
Excellent food! The lunch specials are affordable and filling! I would definitely recommend visiting during lunch. The only reason I give 4 stars is that the incense smell is too strong.
Too long service and the taste of the food is not really Indian
Excellent food .. will be back
Food was alright quality, price was a bit expensive compared to other Indian restaurants but thats ok. When I order chat papdri, they made bhel puri instead.
Great food, super nice staff.. We will go back..
These guys are the best! The staff is beyond friendly, the food is fantastic and I look forward to going every week! Couldnt be any better!
Super friendly and welcoming staff. Same good gastronomic quality on each visit and affordable price.
Excellent cuisine and very good service
Went after ;lunch time, did not get a friendly welcome, no music, food was recycled tandoori chicken, chicken tikka was desert dry. Shish kabab was okay. Naan was excellent but does not make up for the rest. There are many Indian eateries within 15 minutes, more economical and with far superior taste. Not returning there again.
Not impressed, spend 60$ for very small portion lacking spices and burnt Naan bread.
If you want authentic indian food, go somewhere else.
A very good alternative to the surrounding fast food restaurants. We really liked the palak paneer and lamb. Very tasty.
