Gave it another try today and it was an entirely different experience. The staff still gathered at the end of the bar but at least not to the expense of customer service. Staff is also taking care of cleaning fridges, mirrors and overall environnement. Waitress regularly made sure I was ok and that I was enjoying my drink and meal. Im revising my evaluation and hope itll stay that way. Each and everytime I go there, the barmaids sit at the corner of the bar, talking with friends and ignoring the rest of the customers. Takes forever to get any kind of service. Food is good though, when you manage to get someone interested in taking your order. Ill switch back to Duke and Devine, not too far off this place and where barmaids are into providing you with better service.

Well received. Courteous waiter. Hot, delicious and crispy fish & chips. On the other hand, we would have liked to have a little more time between our drinks and the main course. They arrived almost at the same time.

Good, inexpensive and quite hearty dish. Nothing gourmet but just perfect to accompany a beer. They offer a nice, inexpensive cocktail menu. Pleasant terrace and good atmosphere in general.

The food is very bad. Not fresh. No customer service. Literally the staff and management had no idea about service. They were actually rude to a limit. Not recommended at all. There is many bars around area much much better in food and service

Service was pretty good even though we had to remind our waiter 3 times that we asked for a glass of water. I had the chicken tenders and they were a little dry unfortunately. Same thing like my last time there. A little disappointing.

Chicken wings not at food temperature

We were two in the early afternoon and ordered fish and chips, onion rings, and steak sandwich. All three were very good. Service was a bit slow, but that may have been the time of day.

Too loud to talk, there should be a quiet section. Even on trivia night, this place is way too loud.

I had no issues here; if youve been to a McKibbins before, its the same all over the city. Good service and a nice staff. Its a classic Irish pub; expect nothing less; the food is good. Id recommend the wings; they are quite good!

Worst food Ive tasted here. Service was bad. I had to interrupt the bartender and my server every time I needed anything. So many things on the menu I was told was out of stock. And seriously packets of ketchup and other condiments instead of bottles? I had to open SO MANY ketchups just for fries. Omg its bloody ridiculous. This place could be nice with simple upgrades, but they would rather be cheap. Cheap never creates more customer loyalty.

The Belfast chicken wings in buffalo sauce were out of this world. The mayonnaise that came with it was not that great. But we were provided with mayonnaise packets. The fries and poutine were great too.

We called before going to ask if the made espresso martinis and were told we make an amazing espresso martini so we headed over and ordered a couple. It was definitely not good lol but I would still go back because the service is great and was really nice to hear a live band

Friendly, good food, quite quiet when we were there for lunch. Food good and staff nice. There is live music on on Thursday evening and I am told by my niece & nephew its really good fun and the music is good, though I havent actually been then.

Our waitress was amazing ,food just ok ,did not enjoy the cold ,frozen veggies .Some staff have to learn how to wear a mask and also how to enforce the mast wearing rules on customers. #2 Recently went back after re-opening. The clowns behind the bar have no idea about masks ,the more tequila they drank the worse the got.Really unbelievable, I ware my mask all day ,no problems, them impossible .Do not order the $28 notchos, had to return them ,but they were good about it ..........OK UPDATE ....WENT AGAIN FOOD WAS TERRIBLE .IT WAS THROWN ON MY PLATE ,LOOKED TERRIBLE, BURGER WAS BURNT .MY WIFES PLATE JUST AS BAD . WE WERE GIVEN 2 X $50 GIFT CERTIFICATES ,I WILL SET THEY REMAININING ONE ON FIRE BEFORE I USE IT THERE . P.S beer was ok Update big improvements

For the environment of the pub, it is on the darker side, in a good way. Feels warm and cosy The service is good, the times Ive gone we were seated fast and served our food in a respectable amount of time. From the times Ive gone, none of the staff have made the experience unpleasant. All the staff were professional and did their work well making sure we were happy. The price of the food can be high. Some items are priced well while others are over priced like the$ 30 nachos that have a dollar of chips, 3$ of cheese and a cup of ground beef. Not to mention how 70% of the chips of my nachos had nothing on them. So if you enjoy a plate of flavorless chips for 30$, this is the meal for you. I also tried the stew, which was topped with mashed potatoes. This was priced better and was really enjoyable to eat. Everything about the stew tasted wonderful. The drinks are also expensive, running you 10$ per drink. Overall, I encourage anyone reading this to go try out the place for yourself, if you choose properly it shouldnt be hard to get yourself a delicious meal, just be ready to pay and arm and a leg if you want multiple drinks.

Bangers and Mash were perfect with the Guinness. Kaelie was attentive and predictive, traits that I love to see in a server. I will be sure to come back when my drives take me out here.

Order fish and chips, replace potato with sweet potato. I received it separately because I informed the waitress if she had charged me the difference. Plus forgot to bring utensils. Nacho chicken with my joint so cooked every time we took a chip all the dish remained set after the paper. The cheese was burning all around the paper. Finding hair in my fish and chips as well as in my partners glass of alcohol. Still disappointed for the first visit. We wont go back there.

Was Quiet when I visited the pub. I loved the fish and chip. The menu shows some home style cooked food like Sheppards pie, Irish stew, and other items. Cant wait to go back to try the other items. Food

Very poor food. Good musical performance. Service was fine. We (party of 4) arrived at about 6:15PM yesterday (Sunday) and sat near the stage. Everything was going smoothly, but the food we ordered was taking a very long time to arrive. The server apologized stating that there was a big rush from a large order in the kitchen and that our food should be coming soon. We waited quite a bit longer, and when the food finally arrived, our food was only lukewarm, and the Guinness Beef Nachos (which are normally very good) had obviously been left warming under a heat lamp for a long time, as the beef was completely dried out and burned. It took about an hour from the time of ordering until our food was served. Our server was not at fault, and we really enjoyed the music. But, the overall experience really sucked. And the pub was rather empty of customers, so it wasnt that it was too busy. We were all very disappointed with the quality of food we were served and the inordinate amount of time it took for it to be prepared.

At todays visit, the service was excellent. A bit loud at the bar , some people had a bit to much to drink. The service was excellent . We had , me and my wife , each a fish and chips. The chips , over cooked. The fish , under cooked with raw batter . Cole slaw , Not what we expected . At least , our Guinness , served as we liked . Not what we expected . If you wish , we can send you a copy of our bill , including the 20% tip . It was a slow day , not many people eating . It whould have been great to receive our meals cooked like we usually get . Not very happy with our meal , at all .

Its not a restaurant, its a pub, but for a pub, its has great food for what weve tried. They also had live music that was very good when we were there. Were coming back, no questions.

62 ur old here mind you...but the music was too loud. Had issues having a conversation. Thought there would be some kind of Irish music. Any other kind of patron would say it was great. I imagine themed nights are a hoot! Very polite staff. Food

Delicious irish food.

The meal was really very good. On the other hand, the waitress who served a group of 12 people, spent her time sighing, was extremely lacking in professionalism. Comes to tell us that she no longer has the option of our choice of dinner without offering us the menu so that we can choose a plan b! Then she only brings one menu and when we ask her for a second one because we would each like to be able to choose a plan B again, she replies with a frustrated look that she doesnt have one. Finally takes the menu back and snatches it from my hands. We had to ask her for eating utensils, repeated several times for napkins (she doesnt even look at you so you have no idea if she heard you!) Clearly she lacked tact. Its a shame because the food was very good and the music band later was very good. But the service was very unpleasant! We were all disappointed, all 12 people, and we agree that to displease 12 different people, there is still a question to ask. Parking: Large parking lot

Nice atmosphere with bands playing even on week nights and they close late which is great but I don t understand why the staff is having so much trouble with basic things. Beer badly poured, wrong food order, they doesn t seems to speak the official language (which is french btw). I m probably the most easygoing customer but learn how to pour a beer properly and listen to you customers during the order and the utmost thing don t argue against your customers when they raise a mistake. Mistakes happen but putting the blame on us like we never ordered this and that s how we pour a Guinness it s just rude. I have been to Ireland and I can say that s not how a real guinness is pourred. Give your staff better training!

This is not an Irish pub, it is a chain restaurant with the theme of an Irish pub. Yes, they have Irish beer. The food is inspired by Irish cuisine but it s definitely a North American version. The atmosphere is that of any chain restaurant that tries to fit in with the theme: artificial and cheap.

The atmosphere was good, until 10 p.m. however the table service was really not up to standard.

Enjoyed a nice black velvet by the candlelight, while a singer sang some nostalgic 90 alternative accousticly. Good times was had by all.

This review is for the gluten free community because there is very little awareness of this need in the Montreal area and I appreciate the struggle. I was shopping in the area and decided to have a drink and see what they said. It was a quiet weeknight and the bartender was attentive. She checked with the kitchen staff several times for me. They said they would soon have GF buns for the burgers but upon asking, they put breadcrumbs in the meat so it s rather pointless. The cook offered to clean the grill and said he could cook me a chicken breast with bacon and tomato with a lettuce wrap and mashed potatoes. It was decent and I didn t get overly sick but I would definitely not test it on a busy day & probably won t be back. The staff was great and tried hard but the management seemingly knows nothing about GF requirements. I would say it s very risky. I don t know about GF beer, I stuck with wine. My husband doesn t have gluten issues and said his food was pretty good. Not a safe space for celiacs or anyone with cross contamination issues. Too bad.
