While visiting Montreal from Ontario, we decided to stop by Mr. India for lunch based on a recommendation from a local friend. We were not disappointed! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. For lunch, my husband ordered the lamb, and I opted for the Chana Masala with naans. Both dishes were delicious. Special mention to Muskaan, who took our order. She was friendly, attentive, and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely return on our next visit to Montreal. Highly recommended!

Channa samosa was our accidental order which we fell in love with it! One must try Channa Samosa, Chicken Tikka and Fried rice! Food very tasty (unfortunately small portions) and young waitress made a couple mistakes by forgetting to bring some things we asked for so we had to ask again. Service sometimes hard to get ahold of since one waitress handling multiple tables and cleaning.

Unfortunately, this what used to be 5,star restaurant has become a 0-star restaurant. The last 2 times the service has been terrible. This last time we ended up walking out. I gave it a second chance and wont be back. Unfortunately, with no boss around the waitress doesnt care nor know how to tend to customers.

I have been here more than 5 times now. The food is amazing here, very flavourful! The service here is awesome. Muskan, gives the best service here. Shes been really respectful and caring and shes the only server we see here everytime we come back. She makes the experience here very homely and thats why we love coming back.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of online order at Restaurant Mr. India Bar & Grill , and I must say it was nothing short of a culinary disaster. As a connoisseur of authentic Indian cuisine, I had high hopes for this establishment, but my expectations were shattered from the moment I took my first bite. The most glaring issue was the consistently poor quality of the food. It seemed like the ingredients used were of subpar quality, resulting in a tasteless and bland meal. The flavors were muted and lacked the rich, aromatic spices that define authentic Indian dishes. It felt like a feeble attempt at replicating the real thing, leaving me wondering if the chefs had ever tasted true Indian cuisine. What added insult to injury was the inconsistency in food preparation. One dish would arrive overcooked and dry, while another was undercooked and practically raw. It was as if the kitchen had no standard operating procedures for ensuring the proper cooking of their dishes. This lack of attention to detail is inexcusable, especially for a restaurant claiming to offer an authentic taste of India. To make matters worse, the flavor profiles of the dishes were a far cry from the vibrant and nuanced tastes one would expect from genuine Indian cooking. The curries lacked depth, and the biryani was a sad imitation of what should be a fragrant and spiced masterpiece. It pains me to admit it, but Ive had better homemade Indian meals prepared in my own kitchen. The overall dining experience at Restaurant Mr. India Bar & Grill left me questioning the authenticity of their claim to offer the taste of India. It felt more like a misguided attempt at Indian cuisine, with each dish failing to capture the essence and complexity of the flavors that make this cuisine so beloved. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a genuine and satisfying Indian dining experience. Save your taste buds and your money my homemade Indian food is undoubtedly a superior alternative.

Update, January 2024: We ordered similar items again recently and the quality was very disappointing. Very tough meat, ultra-dry tandoori chicken, and the item we ordered to be extra spicy was less spicy than the veg biryani! We felt badly about spending so much $ on this meal, this time. The consistency doesnt seem to be there. ** original post, Fall 2023: We recommend! Deliciously tender and flavourful lamb bhunna, rich and tasty butter chicken, very fluffy basmati rice, hot and tangy lamb vindaloo. Those were our favourites. Aloo gobi was also tasty, but was very light on potato. The tandoor chicken was extremely dry and shrivelled, but it was great in the butter chicken sauce.

We went there twice to eat there. The food is excellent, and the service is good. On the other hand, its probably better to order take-out, since the atmosphere leaves something to be desired.

Hakka Noodles were bland. Had to add seasoning when we got it home. Good portion though. Palak paneer was tasteless. Decent amount of paneer though. Lamb korma barely had lamb in it. They were missing most of the lamb options when we ordered. Naan was fine. The lady who seemed like the manager was pleasant and efficient but the worker who took our phone order and input it in the cash was slow and unhelpful, and its not like we had any special requests.

I had the chance to visit and eat there last week. I am vegetarian person and they have a lot of choices but i orderd vege briyani and vege kormaa and with garlic naan which are very delicious. Definitely i come back again and recommend the other people to visit here and the service was very good and fast all the food is very fresh. I am very happy and i found the best restaurant and taste is like same as the indian food. Thanku so much mr. India.

My family and I love Indian food and have many favourite spots but this was our first time at Mr. India - it did not disappoint! Our kids are 11 and 15 and wouldn t stop talking about how good the naan bread was. Thick and warm and perfectly crispy outside while soft and chewy inside. PERFECT! We also brought the grandparents with us, who had some concerns regarding the spiciness of some of the dishes. The waitress was wonderful and made sure to offer suggestions of milder dishes and everything was excellent. It was a culinary adventure for them and they loved it! We ordered the butter chicken which was rich and velvety. The lamb korma which was very tender, the palak paneer which was delicious with our naan, and the aloo gobi. We had huge onion bhajis to start and it came with two delicious sauces to compliment the slight heat. Everything was so good we asked for take out containers to bring the rest of the sauces home to have with the extra naan later in the night. You know it s good when the family is fighting over the leftovers at 9:30pm! The service was quick and very friendly and accommodating. We ate in the restaurant portion but the bar area looked really cool - we ll try that next time!

Terrible customer service - very rude waitress. Given dirty glasses and cutlery - whole place was chaotic, loud and dirty. Food was meh - very bland. We ordered chicken kebab, butter chicken, naan and basmati - they brought out the kebabs well before the rest of the food....we wanted it all together. Portions were small and cold. Wouldnt eat here again.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We asked our waiter for recommendations since we dont have much experience with Indian cuisine. We really enjoyed the food, the portions are big enough and not pricy. The atmosphere could be improved .... the interior could use a professional look. The numbering of the booths is very tacky, and the waiter/waitresses should be dressed in more professional attire. But, nonetheless, a good time.

Pleasantly surprised at our first visit in December. The food was authentic Indian and delicious. Lots of variety in the menu. The owners Bhola & Sunita were very nice and welcoming. They took good care of us. They even made us sample some dishes that we did not order. After this visit, we decided to join them at the new year eve party they were hosting in their party hall of the restaurant. We were about 50 people in our group and the party was a total blast. The owners put the hearts out to entertain us with amazing and delicious variety of food, alcohol, entertainment and even had expensive door prizes. It s a hidden gem in VD and we have already gone back to this place quite a few times with large groups and we came back very satisfied and happy every time.

There are two things they need to fix to be great and the best: 1) there naan bread - its not Indian restaurant quality costco is better - need to change there naan bread 2) wait time - the time they say is never accurate - everytime we go we need to wait 30-45 mins to get our food even if ordered early

Finest Indian cuisine in the west of Montréal,

Absolutely horrendous wait times. I ordered via takeout the first time. I went a whole hour in advance and still had to wait close to an hour to get my food after all the excuses (I dont think theyd even started cooking until I arrived). I gave them a second chance and again got excuses after excuses again after ordering one entire hour in advance. Then the owner refused to give me any indication she was listening to any criticism I had which was mainly just to say that they should be more honest with their customers. Save yourself the money and especially the time and just go somewhere else. Really wanted this to be good and to support a local business but they just dont have the capacity or the organisation as of yet to pull it off.

Stopped by at 16:30 Friday March 17th to place an order for a pick up at 18:30 and I pre-paid it. Came back at 18:30 to pick up my order, was given a bag which seemed like the right size for what I ordered. My order was: 1 Samosa (2) $3.99 1 Vegetable Pakora $6.00 2 Plain Naan $4.00 1 Butter Chicken $14.99 1 Lamb Palak $17.00 1 Mix Vegetable Sabazi $11.99 1 Peas Rice When I got home I opened up the order and found: Samosa (2) Some type of Spring roll 4 pieces 1 Butter Chicken 2 Naan 1 Shrimp biryani, too spicy for my wife to eat 1 Chana Masala I tried phoning but got voice mail, so today March 18) Im emailing you to let you know what happened. I have sent two emails since Saturday the 18th, no response. I phoned on the 22nd and let the restaurant know that I sent a detailed email about what happened. No response, so I will never order from them again.

We were three people that went to Mr. India for dinner and the service was impeccable as well as the food. Very courteous staff, and the extremely well-mannered servers (Turan and Sunita) were impressive and not seen in most other restaurants. The food was plenty, loaded with flavour and was served in a timely manner. We took home the rest of our meals and it is enough to feed at least two more people. 5 stars!!!

Truly a gem on the West Island, one those restaurants where the food and service are both absolutely extraordinary and very reasonably priced. We discovered Mr. India on the first night of the 2023 ice storm and have been back 3 times since, each time served with care and attention. I tried to order from here for the first time and I had the worst service Ive experienced in Hudson. I ordered through Uber Eats and was instructed the pick up would be ready at 5:05. I arrived at 5 to a lobby of five other customers waiting for their food to be picked up as well. Then after 10 minutes of standing there with no sign of an employee working, a woman came in and took off her coat and started asking about our orders. Then after all the other customers had paid and received their orders, I was left waiting with one other customer, who was starting to get extremely annoyed with the wait. This customer eventually received their order and left. Its now been 30 minutes since my instructed pick up time and I have had no info when my order will be ready. Then after another 10 min and seeing another order come out that wasnt mine, I told the woman to cancel my order. Seeing as I already paid through Uber, we called to get our money back since we didnt receive any food and the owner is saying its our fault and the food was ready but I left before getting it, which makes no sense. She then goes on to say they were extremely busy and that timing is everything but as someone who has worked in the restaurant business before I understand rushes and having to wait. The problem here was there was no communication with what was happening, hell, there wasnt even a person working the front counter when I arrived. The communication in this establishment doesnt exist and I would save yourself the headache and just not order from here at all.

Always a pleasure to dine there! The only thing better than the food is the service, so welcoming and eager to please without trying too hard. Very large menu to choose from, Mr. India is now 1 of our must meals on a regular basis.

We are very pleased with our order. The samosas were so good, one of the better ones we had at an Indian restaurant. Absolutely loved the butter and tikka chicken. The staff was friendly, the place looked very clean. We will definitely be back!

I went with my family for the first time. The experience was extremely fun, with a great, dynamic staff; delicious food; and comfortable restaurant. I would recommend to anyone interested in trying Indian food. This restaurant is simply one of absolute quality and mastery in their field.

Have enjoyed Indian food at many restaurants on our five-month cross-Canada road trip and this ones the best so far. Had Chicken Jalfarzi and Chicken 65, both with steamed rice, and the biggest portion of Lamb Biryani Ive ever faced. Even with three of us, there was still enough left over for a doggy bag. Great food! Vegetarian options: Lots of non-meat options on the menu. Parking: Oodles of parking in front. Kid-friendliness: Open to family dining. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy at-grade access.

We ordered at Mr. India - butter chicken, chicken vindaloo and mixed vege sabazi with basmati rice and naan bread. The dishes were fresh and full of flavour and taste. K will be back. Thank you Mr. India!

Went to this restaurant a month ago and had great food and attentive service. There was obviously a lack of kitchen staff, as we observed other restaurant and take-out order patrons had to wait an inordinately long time for orders - enough to spoil the experience. We arrived before 6:00 p.m. and it was early enough to avoid being affected. The food was excellent and beautifully seasoned. My friend and I went back on Nov. 5 for 5:30 p.m. to avoid the rush. We tried different dishes this time and were delighted with all: Lamb Palak, Lamb Fal.........., Chicken Tikka Masala (rich and spicy) and Rice with cumin and peas. Everything was packed full of flavour and the meat just melted in your mouth. Delicious! The service was even more attentive this time and the restaurant appeared to have overcome any time delays for either takeout orders or in-dining. I rarely dine out, and when I do, I want the food experience to be memorable and here the flavours truly impacted my senses and I savoured every morsel. Although I had to travel from the West Island, this will be my Indian restaurant of choice going forward. Worth going the extra mile. My rating: 4.7 Parking: Easy and accessible.

The food was excellent. We followed the recommendations of the host and had the lamb jarfarzi, palak paneer, with zerra rice and naan. The servings were generous, the food delicious and the price quite reasonable. We are for sure going back and ordering from their takeout menu.

Beat Indian restaurant I ve been to in Canada!

We have been thinking for long time and finally decided to have lunch there. We were welcomed by the staff. The owner also came to chat with us. We were told the food is cooked in very little oil to keep it healthy but tasty. Nice ambiance and well balaced menu with very reasonable price. They suggested us to try amritsari kulcha and chole. Amazing taste. We also packed sarson ka saag and makki roti to take out. While leaving we had very friendly chat with Sam who served us the food. She told us lot of interesting things about this family run restaurant. Cant wait to go there again to try fish pakora, chicken tikka and kabab.

We just had lunch at Mr. India Bar et Grill: at Promenades Hudson, 3187 Harwood, Unit K, Vaudreuil : we ordered daal tudka, kachumbar salad, shahi paneer, tandoori roti and naan. Everything was so perfect. The daal was so yummy, the paneer was really amazing. The tandoori roti and naan were so soft . I really enjoyed the salad as well. Excellent food. This will be our regular Place for Best Indian Cuisine in Montréal.
