Shinas Boozy Brunch in Vaudreuil-Dorion

Weve been here a handful of times and have thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We appreciate the focus on local producers and we are happy to support them by dining here. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. The fresh flowers are a nice touch. The staff are polite, professional and bilingual. The food is good and prepared to a high standard. Food service can be slow, but the staff are present and attentive (they are simply waiting on the kitchen). The menu has gaps. I would love for you to add a variety of Eggs Benny and a basket of baked goods to take pressure off of the kitchen.

Made us wait 40 min at the door telling us we are setting your table. After 40 min the hostess decides to tell us that they have a Reservation coming in, I don t care for the food, if you can t serve let us know so we don t waste our time. Not going back. Mind you we spend a decent amount of $$ at this place as well, I wonder how new customers are treated if their is how regulars are treated

Decent meal but 2X too expensive I went there for lunch and there was almost nothing on my plate. Coffee not included and rather expensive. I wont go back Dietary restrictions: I saw there were gluten-free options

I went to Shinas, and not only was it beautifully decorated, but the staff and food was amazing. I am coeliac and have to be very careful with cross contamination, however, my server made sure my food was safe. I had the gluten-free lemon ricotta pancakes and they were incredible. I recommend this place to anyone!

Was there today and not impressed. It took 40 min just to get a drink food took over an hour, waitress very slow. It wasn t even that busy Did not fill our water. My son ordered scrambled eggs and it came with loads of dill and green onions in it. Steak was bland and toast was hard as a rock. And expensive

I visited this place a couple of months ago and am just now getting around to posting my review. The decor is lovely, but I was disappointed with the food. They advertised a mushroom & brie shakshuka and noted it wasn t traditional, which I appreciated. However, my egg was fully cooked. When I mentioned it, they explained they serve it this way because most people don t like it runny. While they noted some differences in the sauce, they hadn t mentioned that the egg would be fully cooked. I was disappointed they didn t offer to adjust it, especially since they d changed a key element without explaining it upfront.

A warm and professional welcome, personalized service and dishes that met my expectations. I have a crush on the salmon tartare on the lunch menu. It is tasty and very affordable. I have been there several times and will go again.

It was an overall good experience. Service was a bit slow. We had to wait quiet a while for our food. My friend requested extra maple syrup. The waiter totally forgot and never came back. The shakshuka on the menu is a bit different than the typical one we are used to. I have had better food at other brunch spots in the area. Vegetarian options: Shakshuka, fruit bowls, salads.

Went there this morning as a large group for brunch. I had already heard terrible things about the service but still gave it a chance. Took 30 minutes to see a waitress. Ordered coffees and received them 1 hour later (no exaggeration). Food was served on the tables (family style), with no plates to eat out of. We had to ask the waitress for plates?? Had very few waiters for the amount of people we were. Owner\manager never showed up to help their staff with service but you know she showed up when it was time to pay. Nobody picked up the dirty plates when we were done, they just sat there the entire time. Many of us who attended have worked in the service industry and couldnt believe how terrible the service was. 0/10 disaster.

I recently visited Shinas for breakfast, hoping for a pleasant start to my day. Unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. The atmosphere was marred by the owner s unprofessional behavior, particularly towards the waitress, which created a tense environment. As I tried to enjoy my meal, that was amazingly good, I couldn t help but notice the owner s constant criticism and condescending remarks directed at the staff. It was uncomfortable to witness, and I felt for the waitress, who was clearly doing her best under the circumstances. The atmosphere was........leaving me feeling frustrated and angry. Taught about writting this for the last few hours... Breakfast should be a time to relax and enjoy, but instead, I left feeling distressed and unhappy. I hope the management addresses is issue, as it deeply affects the dining experience. I won t be returning...

This is such a great addition to vaudreuil! The vibe the decor, the class is perfection! Definitely underrated. All the food is sourced locally. Will be coming back and you all ( VD) should start supporting local businesses like this :)

Highly recommend! Such a cute cozy breakfast place! The service was very fast, beautiful mimosas with great flavour and the food options all sound delicious!

Had basic breakfast, 2 eggs over with bacon. Eggs served on top of sourdough bread which was barely even toasted. Plus if youre like me, youll have to slide the eggs off your bread. The rosti is a joke, greasy and I would be surprised if it even amounts to half a potato! 3 slices of bacon were okay. Drip coffee is extra and served in a large mug so it goes cold before you finish it and refills are not offered. If you take milk or sugar with your coffee, be prepared, you only get a limited amount as there is none available on your table. No jam available either if you like it for your toast. Service was slow, another couple was seated 10 minutes after us and was served, paid and left just after we received our food. Surprising how long it takes to get a basic breakfast. On top of that it was $60 for 2 basic breakfasts and 2 drip coffees... Needless to say, we will not go back. Well stick to La Belle Patate, better food, service and half the price with bottomless coffee included! Note to owner, its not the bridge construction thats affecting your business...and berating one of your waitresses in earshot of your customers is not very professional.

Music is way too loud and the high ceilings means all the chatter of people is very loud. Food was tasty but portions too small for the price. I was still hungry after spending 20$. Regular drip coffee not included in price. Served in a giant mug so it got cold before I could finish. Not really many dairy free/meat free options I was interested in. Service was good and available in English. Nice decor.

The first time I came here, my friend and I ordered and waited around 40 minutes for our food. Because it was a new restaurant, I let it slide. The second time I came (which was months later), after we ordered, my sister and I waited a whole hour for our food. Our waitress apologized 3 times and told us sorry it s a full house today, it s really busy . I go to many restaurants, a lot of them are always full never did I wait this long for a meal. The food is pretty good, very fresh and tasty, however the wait time really isn t worth it.

This restaurant is truly such a hidden gem. It is so beautiful and the food tastes like home. Officially my favourite breakfast restaurant. Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options such as avocado toast and smoothie bowls. I always read all reviews before trying a new place. Opening a business is hard, putting a one star review because they are booked out by reservations is completely unjustified. Come downtown Montreal where all the food scene is and that is how it works. However, I had the worst service I ve ever gotten in a restaurant, so I need to agree with those type of one star reviews. We were the first seated on the terrace on a Sunday morning, and weirdely enough, all the tables who were seated after us got their food while we STILL had our menus in front of us. There was a different waitress for every table outside, which led them to be extremely confused. I m not sure how you manage your restaurant, I ve never seen this before, but the staff is poorly trained. The table next to us got their bill and we still hadn t received our drinks(pretty crazy). You d expect a business that knows what they are doing to compensate you for that, but they didn t. Staff is friendly but clearly very inexperienced. The food: definitely the best breakfast in Vaudreuil since it is competing with all the chains, so it is obviously fresher food, however, if you really want the best brunch/breakfast, you need to go downtown Montreal where you ll have restaurants with the same prices that are even better. The decor is nice, however could be more cozy as it is pretty big and empty inside. This place has a lot of potential if you fix your current issues.

The food was okay, nothing more. The portions are quite meager, especially considering the prices. I must say, however, that the three stars are mainly because of the coffee. My latte was really bad, I didnt even finish it. A brunch restaurant that doesnt know how to make good coffee isnt a great seller for a second visit. It also took a long time to receive them, the food arrived first.

My compliments to the chef, the french toast were scrumptious. Finally dont have to go all way downtown to experience a nice restaurant.

Decor and food details amazing!! But for a restaurant that specializes in breakfast, the food was not the greatest. The best were the hash browns.

For a place serving breakfast, the menu is very limited. Ordered steak and eggs that are pricy. The steak came under cooked and the hashed potatoes were a sample. The place itself is clean and modern but the staff needs experience. Coffee came in a large mug and the cream was freezing cold. Will not come back.

Went to try Shinas today with my wife and daughter. Restaurant was half empty. As we walked in the manager asked us while walking past us if we had reservations. When i said no i was rudely told no room!. I do understand that reservations take priority but when the restaurant is half empty it doesnt make sense to turn away customers. I guess the high prices everyone mentions allow them to be arrogant enough to turn customers away for a half empty place. I guess they dont need my business.

Wow! The food at this place is AMAZING! Definitely recommend the pancakes (it was probably the most delicious part of my meal). Shinas is a super clean restaurant, the bathrooms feel like hotel bathrooms even! The staff was super nice, with there being so many delicious options on the menu our waitress helped me pick. I ended up changing my plate a little so I had a little bit of everything, everything was delicious!

Had breakfast for the First time on mothers day...we waited a long time for our food and when we got it, it was cold .pancakes where the only thing we liked.the french toast was hard and cold .drinks were amazing we had ice lattes . The decor is very nice but needs something on the walls it was very bright and cafeteria looking .music too low Had trouble hearing the music with the noise of people yapping.

This was our first visit on Mother s Day planned by my Kids. Atmosphere and Service were great but Food wasn t as great as it was expected. Very simple and easy thing to point out was The Bread which was hard like a Brick, Glasses had a very bad smell but they looked clean.

Went for brunch with my friends (we were a group of 8), beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere. However very slow service. Our plates were all brought out at different times - which is unfortunate as some of our plates got cold as we waited for everyone to get theirs). French toast was dry and underwhelming (especially for the price), the mimosas were ok. Coffee refills were not included and had to wait 15 minutes after asking for more. Overall the price was quite high for a brunch, it is better suited for special occasions and not an every weekend breakfast stop. I went with really high expectations, but left feeling a little disappointed.

A friend recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! So delicious, great vegetarian options, and I the cocktails were MY FAVORITE! The vibes are really cool, and will for sure be coming back!

Unfortunately very underwhelming. The workers were very polite and so kind and the place was nicely decorated. But the food was below par. Paid 22$ for 3 pancakes that had little to no toppings. The smoothie bowl had almost no fruits on it. I find it s more focused on looking pretty than a nice filling and tasty plate. Left hungry and not impressed. Nice people and place just not worth the price for what you get.

The food is on the pricier side, 20-30$ range. Great taste and aesthetic. Make sure to get the French toast and have it warm, soft with panko crunchiness. Fresh orange squeezed, so the mimosa tasted great. Food chosen: 1) breakfast board 55$, swapped pancakes for more French toast 2) burrata avocado and toast 3) the IDK, standard breakfast plate 4) the IDK, swapped pork items with chicken

As soon you walk in the atmosphere it is cold and lacks colour and liveliness. Table placement is poor and it s tight in the back room. Breakfast menu is limited and specific. It seems to offer more drink choices than food choices. For the price tag, you d expect at least a free refill on a cup of coffee, however, that s not the case. You pay per cup and thats sacrilege for any breakfast restaurant. RESPONSE TO OWNER S UNPROFESSIONAL COMMENT: Based off the other comments people have left of this restaurant, I am not too far off the mark. The style of the restaurant may be a matter of taste, which I feel is lacking, however the lack of value for a clients money is not up for debate. L oeufrier would at least offer good service compared to you, free refills on coffee, and in the amount time I can get served there (start to finish) I would probably still be waiting for a glass of water at your establishment. So thanks for the personal recommendation. You should share it with all your guests. Side note: I ve already put a bet on how long you ll last, and I ve bet you won t last more than a year. Keep it up!

I had high expectations for this restaurant specializing in brunches. The space is beautiful, well appointed. The atmosphere is festive. Unfortunately, all the charm ends there. All 7 people at our table were unanimous in saying that the menu was uninspiring. In my humble opinion, the concept of brunch is not adequately exploited. The dishes are tasteless, no originality, no fruit. And for the price it costs, we must honor local products by preparing them better than that. However, my $16 mimosa was delicious. But not enough for me to recommend this restaurant.

Great brunch place really good food I recommend the hash brown smoked salmon and lemon pancakes. Just an fyi if you see the waitor just put your finger up they will come to you. They are pretty busy so just look around and either call them or put your hand up.

We had a disappointing experience the first time we came here, but the management reached out to us and encouraged us to give them a second chance, and boy was it worth it! We had a wonderful brunch! Even though it was a busy Sunday morning, the service was excellent. I had a Paloma and the Salmon both were excellent! It was easy to tell these were made with very high-quality ingredients. My sister had a Mimosa and the IDK (I don t know). The lemon ricotta pancakes are not to be missed!! This will be my go-to brunch place! Thank-you.

Omg, I thought that I left a review when I went last month but I totally forgot. I wanted to take the time to say that this place is truly amazing! Such a fun concept in Vaudreuil where we don t have anything else like this. Food was really good and I love the cute aesthetic decor. We got a big platter to share that had a little bit of everything and honestly, everything was really good!

The food is so fresh, the presentation of the plates are beautiful and the staff is so friendly. Our food was taking a little long to arrive which we didn t mind but the staff were so good about it and kept checking in with us. Highly recommend trying them out !

Service was excellent, food was good overall, prices were very high in respects to the overall meal. $71 for two is a bit excessive and I felt I was paying more because of the expensive decor than the food itself. I hope they adjust to their market, the shine comes off a new restaurant quickly and the demographics may not support the steady clientele needed by this type of restaurant. If you are a big eater in the morning, it could get very expensive. The rosti was the least liked item we tried. It was not crispy and was drowning in cooking oil.

Finally! A place worthy of real brunchers in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region. Both the atmosphere and the dishes are carefully balanced. You have to go there to see all the attention that is paid to the choice of local ingredients and the elegant decor. We also appreciated the warm welcome from the team. I cant wait to go back to try their cocktails and the rest of the menu.

Really great new brunch spot! The decor is perfect and there s a section at the back that is perfect for larger group reservations. The food was delicious and service was very fast and friendly. I am very picky about my chai lattes and their ginger chai latte was probably the best I have ever had!

Opened yesterday, the restaurant was beautiful, the staff was super friendly and quick. Fresh produce from local farm THEREFORE the price of the food is a little more expensive than the other brunch places. Food is delicious and taste very fresh. The drinks menu is quite large and theres a bottomless mimosa option. Very happy with this charming new brunch spot.

Nice looking place. Great color choices for interior, it looks very trendy, fresh and bright. Loved the idea of the coffee station right at the entrance - you smell it as soon as youre getting in. Really loved white little towels in the washroom (but why are they on the floor? :)) Staff is very friendly and welcoming. However, the waiting time to get our order was over 40 mins. For toasts and crepes. Also, it seemed like it was overpriced. I understand they source all products locally, but if I combine ridiculous waiting time + the cost, doesnt feel like I want to return...

Went to check it out before taking my Meet Up group. I have to say it earns a great big thumbs up from my friend and I. This is the Crem de la Crem of brunch places, classy and stylish, and much needed around this area. The food was hot, flavoursome, nice sized portions, and served with a smile. The produce is all from local farms which makes it even more inviting. We will be back very soon. And yes! The middle bathroom is the best Barbara! Francene

My fiancé and I went to Shinas the day they opened, and have been back every weekend since. We were greeted by an extremely friendly staff, an amazing atmosphere and some of the best food and drinks we ve had to date. We had the Lox Bagel and the Burrata avocado toast, which were both incredible in their flavours and presentation. The weekend after, we had the pesto grilled cheese! The morning Mule was a great way to start the day, along with a cup of locally sourced coffee! If you are ever in the Vaudreuil area, make a stop at Shinas, you will not be disappointed!

Best breakfast place Ive been to. You cannot compare it to a chain like coco fruity or anything like those. The service was a little slow to get the food but the waitress was apologetic and mentioned they were backed up. Everything else was fast. Didnt wait for water or coffee. Came by several times to make sure everything was good. Food was excellent. I had the steak and eggs: I decided on scrambled eggs. I was so surprised by how they added chives, green onion and all the seasoning. It was buttery, silky, flavorful. Very similar to how I make them but better The potatoes were hashbrows. The flavor was excellent as well. The flank steak was the only thing I was slightly disappointed in. I had asked for medium rare and I got medium-well done. Even so, it was still tender and flavorful Girlfriend had the IDK The pancakes were... Wow. Not as dense as flap jacks, thicker than a crepe. There was lemon zest, lemon juice and ricotta in the batter which made it extra fluffy. The lemon juice has to be fresh since there was no acidity. Sweet flavorful and overall fantastic. The French toast were dense. So I would suggest save your maple syrup for that. The pancakes barely needed it Its a bit pricier than coco-whatchama-call-it. But over all worth it. If you just want a cheap egg and bacon to find a dinner. You want a breakfast/brunch which is fresh and flavorful, you come here. Was my first time but wont be my last.

Shina s is seriously amazing. From the decor, to the staff and most importantly the food and drinks. Their coffee is so tasty, their drinks are beautifully crafted, and they even use fresh pressed orange juice for the mimosas. The food is so fresh and delicious, you don t leave feeling heavy and in need of a nap. I can t wait to come back here!

Super amazing place. Lovely staff. Very helpful. We also got greeted by the manager at the end of our meal. We wanted to have a meal with some of the ingredients, not all, and they kindly accommodated our request. I am very happy that we went earlier as the place is quite popular and a line was forming. We went for lunch or dinner. At first glance, the menu is small and its expensive. The waitress asks us if its our first time? Yes....without further explanation. The wait for our meal: 30 minutes. It was while we were eating that my wife noticed a table where it was indicated that the suppliers were local. Hence the explanation of the cost of meals.... Perhaps your waitress should tell new customers about this? Its not a common concept. The food was very good but the decor was a bit empty... We will definitely return.

Our new favourite place! So unique. From the start with uber friendly staff enthusiastically stating the community oriented mission of the place (supporting local businesses by buying local, etc). The wonderful atmosphere is surpassed only by a great menu, including trendy drinks like espresso martini and mummosas (mimosa with Mums champagne). Unassuming and so friendly, I asked for special changes to my salmon bagel ( I wanted deconstructed, not assembled) and that was done with no hassle, with a superb presentation! And to end a perfect visit, chef owner Shina herself comes to your table to ensure everyone is happy and satisfied. Slightly more expensive, since food is local fresh food, but worth every extra penny. I would put six stars if it were available! Bravo and we are going back for sure!

We waited 45 mins for our food. Our bill was 90$ after taxes and tip and we didnt have any alcohol. Very expensive and we didnt think it was worth the price. The lemon ricotta pancakes were the highlight of the dish.

Honestly one of the worst services I ve received. We made a reservation at 11:30 the restaurant was medium busy. We sat down placed our order by 11:45. Upon waiting and waiting and waiting we asked our server around 12:30 if our food was almost ready . To which the response was soon. We saw multiple tables after us come in order eat and leave which lead us to believe our order had never even been punched. Simple eggs , grilled cheese and their pancakes no exceptions or complications or changes to the menu. We asked again around 1:00 to which we were rudely responded restaurants have Qs you re in the Q we informed we had been waiting since 11:45 when our order should have been placed. To their surprise at 1:00 our order had only been entered 30 mins again. No water refills no coffee refills. No apology. Our food came out and we ate quickly and we re out by 1:30. A little exaggerated for breakfast. And everything homemade as we were also rudely told when we asked why it was taking so long. Won t be going back. Was also very pricey for what we got. JUST TO RESPOND TO SHINAS COMMENT 1. We were seen once by you not several times - in which rude comments were made 2. You offered ONE person out of the group of 3 free coffee . Logical? There s nothing mean spirited I m writing my experience as a restaurant owner you re going to have to accept not all reviews will be positive. From an honest experience wiping tables down when you have a hostess wasn t the priority that day. Also responding back rudely when people have bad experiences isn t necessarily the best move.

The minute you walk in to the restaurant you can sense its uniqueness, the atmosphere and layout is gorgeous. The big windows makes the experience even better and then the food it s amazing and very good. The flavours are there and everything we had is amazing. Highly recommend for a mom and daughter brunch or even a fam gathering!
