1 Bass Pro Mills Dr, Vaughan, ON L4K 5W4, Canada
Chinese eatery in Vaughan Mills Mall. Full sit-down restaurant with contemporary decor and outdoor patio. Casual fast-dine section, take-out and delivery. Vast menu with Pan-Asian offerings including sushi, Thai Curries, and Vietnamese Pho.
I've ordered take out from here a couple times in the past and never received such deplorable service. The food is okay but the server Han Ly that took my order was not inviting and cut me off several times when trying to ask questions about the menu. I also felt very rushed as it was a takeout order. Han did not seem to care about actively listening to help answer the questions I had. I was told my order would take 20 minutes to prepare, my sister placed an order as well, so we walked around the mall and came back in time to retrieve our food. I should've trusted my instincts and not continue to order here because upon returning to collect our order, there was another server bagging our food that had peanut shellings all around the counter. My sister who is allergic to peanuts, politely asked to have Han bag her order, and immediately Han and the other server laughed, whilst proceeding to speak in either Cantonese or Mandarin. I proceeded to interject and advised the server bagging the order that my sister is deathly allergic to nuts. That server proceed to yell at us repeatedly to take our orders and leave. Other customers eating close by were looking on. It's unfortunate I had this experienced this as I was first brought to to this restaurant who recommended eating here. I certainly will never return to this restaurant. Word to the wise, speak up the moment you experience poor customer service from the onset, and take your money elsewhere. Lastly, the above described incident occurred on my birthday. This was sour end to a lovely day spent celebrating with family. Very disappointed.
This is not a lie, I kid you not, I got noodles that were crispy. The noodles were not boiled enough. And I'm not saying a few pieces were not cooked all the way or something, no no, the whole thing was completely uncooked. It was c.r.i.s.p.y... 💀 Also, for $1 more, you get exactly 2 pieces of extra shrimp with your noodles. Two whole pieces! Amazing! Some of the rice I got was also not cooked but it's so weird, other parts were perfectly cooked. So maybe I got some bits from the side of the rice cooker or something. Either way, I don't think I'll ever come back to this place to eat.
We have been coming here for over 20 years. Came for dinner & ordered our usual. First two dishes came out cold. We told the waiter and he brought back the reheated shrimp which was disgusting. Next was the beef & broccoli that had a funny taste. The Cantonese chow mein was burned. Shrimp fried rice was cold. We told the waiter we didn’t want to eat the reheated food and he brought us the bill. Paid full price. We asked to speak to the manager but apparently he was off. We were told there are new chefs and also told not to come back anymore if we didn’t like it. Will never come here again. Don’t waste your money.
We ordered quite a bit of food for four people and had enough to take home. Our order included 2 Satay Chicken (6 skewers total), shrimp & avacado hand roll, Hot and Sour Soup, Chicken Corn Soup, spicy salmon roll, Crispy Ginger Beef, Basil Chicken and Szechuan Fried Rice with Chicken. Everything was very tasty (5/5) and although the chicken corn soup could have used a touch of salt. My only issue was that the order took a very long time - it was about a 30 minute wait for our food. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet. All in all it was an enjoyable family experience after a day of walking the mall. I would certainly return to the mall simply to eat there.
We loved everything! The food, the service, the atmosphere. Place to go with a family when you’re around the Vaughn Mills
Hands down the best chinese cuisine I have tasted in Canada. We were in Vaughan Mills and wanted to try this place, surprised didn’t go in before, cause Now anytime I am there shopping, will probably only eat from here. We ordered the Veggie Fried rice and Crispy Ginger Beef for lunch, the dish served was more than enough for the 2 of us. The rice was great and the beef was too good. Great service from the servers, highly recommended!
I was exploring Vaughan Mills while visiting from Vancouver. At first, I wanted to go to the food court but nothing excited me. I suddenly craved for noodle soup, so I went into this place. At first, I was a bit confused as there was a drink stall and a sushi stall in front of this “restaurant.” Then I purchased a braised beef noodle soup and was given a ticket. It looked like a mini food court inside where you could get your own water. Looking at the ticket, I realized I was in their “fast dine” area, basically it was a section separated from the restaurant to allow customers eat their take out food. Noodle was put in a take out bowl, while the broth was put in another take out soup tube. The amount of beef and vegetables was generous, even though I preferred more noodles 🍜 The broth was flavourful. You could also get extra soy sauce or hot sauce like getting your own take out if needed. The place was not perfectly clean, but was acceptable. I was there at 4:40 pm in a Tuesday afternoon, so there were not many other customers and I could take my time. Meanwhile, quite a few people came in for take out, I assumed this was quite a popular spot. I saw two boys came in just to get some water. The staff saw it but did not say anything. It was surprisingly kind of them.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in Vaughan. I have been to their restaurant several times to celebrate several occasions in the past with family and friends. But recently l visited their cafe styled space( access from the mall inside) . This section is reasonably priced. Yummy quick food.Only issue here in the cafe they serve hot food in plastic boxes. Otherwise awesome.
Overall, the food is good, servings are very generous. Waiter recommended Spicy Peanut Chicken and General Tso Chicken, which are the most popular items.
I love me some good Chinese takeout and this store been open for some time now its insane amazingly good. I would recommend the rice noodles and some kung po chicken or some Nice chow me in noodles. I really love how generous they become with theyre portion sizes. Fried spring rolls and soup is such a good combo too.
Need a negative star option for the service. Worst of the worst
What can I say except DISAPPOINTED!!!! Came with my family here a few days ago. We didn t sit inside the restaurant but instead we ordered from the takeout area and sat there to eat. We ordered chicken with rice and noodles, three spring rolls and curry chicken with rice. The curry with rice was okay but the chicken in all the dishes tasted rubbery and not like chicken at all. Secondly, all the spring rolls were dripped in oil as if they were refried for a second time we couldn t even eat it. When we asked for our money back, Raymond the manager said he will only give us money back for the spring rolls. He then started to yell saying everything else is okay and he wouldn t stop trying to convince us that the rest of the food was good and continued to act like a fool by yelling at us trying to make his point. Never in all my life have I come across a manager who yells at customers for being wrong about how the food tastes. And on top of that making a big deal over $14 food. It was beyond embarrassing and disgraceful! Noodles were drenched in oil and so was everything else, it was awful. Raymond the manager was a complete joke! Please do not eat here!
I ordered a beef pho soup. It was pretty tasty, but it was so scalding hot. I waited well over 5 minutes to drink it and burnt my mouth really badly. Although it was my mistake Im shocked just how hot it was. I get soups all the time and theyve never been this hot.
Crispy ginger beef...yummy
Best sushi ever!
Great halal options! Great service! I appreciate the kindness when i asked her if it was halal
Delicious food. I only wish they would make the soft noodles chowmein or lo mein more saucy. I find it too dry. Also season the shrimp and batter for the tempura shrimp. Its very very bland. Aside from this everything else is good.
Pretty good.. Id go back.
We pre-ordered our food at 3:04pm today for a 4:30pm pick up, specifically so we could get it right after work and head back home to Toronto. We waited until 4:55pm for our food, 20+ minutes of wasted time spent here. We complained twice and none of the employees would make eye contact with us, and eventually admitted they lost our order. HORRIBLE customer service here and completely disorganized staff. None of our food was even comped for their error. Very disappointing. And now we re stuck in 5pm rush hour! Thanks, guys!
Use to be great years ago overrated now overpriced Way over Food
Surprised that they have only have 3.8. always great food and excellent service. 5 out 5
Have been coming here for years. Food is fresh, always hot and flavour. Top dishes are Cantonese chow mein, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, vegetable spring roll and the wonton soup!
This place used to be one of my favorites. Sadly the quality of the food has gone down drastically, service is not the same, and most recently while ordering I noticed insects running around on the ground. I won t be coming back here.
Good food clean environment and friendly staff average price range.
My experience there was not nice today I frequent here a lot because the food is good and normally the cashier are friendly but today around 4pm the cashier was rude. I ordered take out and then sat down to eat, not sure why this lady cashier was watching me not the one that took my order but another girl came up to me and said are you the bag which was my take out bag while I was still eating, I stopped eating and said yes I am using the take out, that I purchased with my meal, this I felt was rude and not sanitary and why she singled me out when there were customers sitting eating with take bags, so to me I felt really embarrassed, but the food is really good but today this cashier was not nice, every other time I have been there great experience except for today
Although the food is good, the staff could improve their service. I was politely placing my order, but Christina kept yelling at me. I wanted to make some changes to the type of noodles I wanted, but she kept shouting that they dont make changes. However, I had the same changes the last time I was there. She later called another staff member to take my order, all while continuing to yell, We dont do it. The other employee understood my request and punched it without any issue. She was extremely rude and impatient. While I was there, I also noticed that after taking phone orders, she kept yelling, I dont care what they want. If she doesnt care about the customers, I wonder why shes in customer service at all.
This is a great spot to get some well priced Chinese food. The place is kid friendly and servers are patient. The food reminds me of Chinese food we have eaten in India (Mainland China, for anyone that knows!). The floors for some reason feel greasy? Food
Spicy ginger beef ftw
Very noisy and the service was very slow
Its always a great place to eat. Great service and food. Vegetarian options: Thai curry is great Food : 5/5 |
It used to be so good. So consistently good. It was my go to. Now it s consistently disappointing. Not the same as it used to be. They must have changed cooks or something. Pretty sad and disappointing.
Don t forget to try their mixed seafood chow mein it s not only served hot but its flavour is out of the world. Our server was Sam and extremely courteous and knowledgeable. We had a great time with friends!
Vaughan mills branch! We dont like how the Waiter handle customer, feels like they are rushing customer to finish eating, very bad service, service is negative
Service was great! Just abit slow! Food was amazinggggg!! 10/10 we ordered the lemongrass vercimelli had the poke bowl pad Thai fried beef and noodles
Ordered from here last Saturday night and there was a beetle/ladybug INSECT IN MY CHICKEN. the chile chicken. absolutely revolting.
First time i went, had a wonton soup that was pretty decent, but sadly also tried beef spring rolls: tasted bad/ stale and smelled terribly...had only a couple bites and threw away the rest but was enough to give me diarrhea Food
BE CAUTIOUS! The service here is terrible. The staff hovers over you while you pay the bill, choosing the tip amount themselves and simply asking you to tap your card. The only positive aspect of this restaurant is the food
Tastiest Chinese food.
We love the food here , nothing here in Barrie can come close to this restaurant! We pick up every time we pass on our way back I ordered yesterday on the way home when we got home realized we paid for two orders of your spring rolls and only got one order Food
I ordered SHREDDED beef. ! Shredded means shredded ! I got hunks of beef. Not at all shredded. Called to complain. Manager was willing to do nothing for me. 20 dollar dish straight in the garbage. Won t be going back. !!!!!!
This place is awesome, because Everything was luxury, and also the Chinese mannequins were also awesome and luxury and the food was bit raw, because they didn t cook it well
Vietnamese beef pho serving does not meet my expectation not like in the menu picture, to manny noodles plenty of beef...
Went there with my wife and experience was really bad, food so so, avoid dine in if you can, waitress got angry on us demanding a higher tip for a bad service, i explained the reason and he was looking at the other waitress pretending they dont understand what i was saying, deserve 0$ tip, maybe thats why the place is empty most of the time. Rude staff.
Loved the crispy Beef here.
What happened to this place? I knew the owners from the First Canadian Place this was a five-star restaurant. The food was one of the best. It is horrific crispy ginger beef that tasted like jerk chicken covered in a batter. Overcooked spring rolls, dirty oil dark greasy I don t want to say anything more. It s just horrible, as you can see by the reviews, I m not the only one who feels this way, and to the owners. You need to get back in your restaurant and get the food sorted out until I start seeing a change in reviews. I will never go back here again, such a disappointment. I was embarrassed that I recommended it to a few friends.
Loved it. It was great experience. We ordered four food to share between us all were fantastic. My favorite tho Korean BBQ. Servers were attentive & always available.
I ordered Golden Thai Curry with Vegetables, however, the language barrier meant that I received Chicken with mine, which, to be fair, was part of the menu. As I eat chicken, I wasnt too upset and it was rather nice. The beef in the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup was chewy and in part gristly...awful, in my opinion. Then the service; my curry came in two containers filled to the top, so I requested a larger bowl to mix the two. The lady created such a fuss, hinting that I should have asked for it upon ordering (how would I know how its served?), who reluctantly gave me a bowl with anger and then proceeded to talk about me (not that I care) to her colleagues for everyone to hear, was unprofessionell.
The service is very slow for a fast food place.
WE DINED AT 3:00PM. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES IN THE RESTAURANT! SHRIMP ROLLS WERE BURNT AND OVERDONE! NO ONE CAME TO ASK ABOUT OUR MEAL! WE PAID BUT LEFT NO TIP! NEVER GOING BACK!
I recently visited Szechuan for a cup of green tea, but my experience was quite disappointing. After receiving my tea in a plastic cup, I was walking away from the store when the cup suddenly tore apart, spilling tea all over my shopping bag and clothes. It was an embarrassing situation, and I was stuck there for a while, trying to clean up. To make matters worse, the manager was not available, and the associate I spoke with had difficulty communicating. While I was eventually given another cup of tea, this incident highlighted a serious issue with the quality of their cups. Product quality isnt just about the tea itself; the packaging should be reliable too. I hope Szechuan addresses this problem to prevent such incidents in the future.
Ordered for delivery and when it arrived found part of order missing. Called to complain and was told it would be 30 minutes as they have only 1 driver. Waited 45 minutes and still nothing. Called back to find out whats going on and found out another 30 minutes. No apologies for the mistake and was cut off twice.. very rude person answering the phone.
Soon good. Always fresh, and plentiful.
Very bad hospitality! No manners ! We bought 3 sushi boxes after the seller told me I would get 10 % discount so we also were going to dine in for hot meals. The two chefs came out yelling at us as if we are criminals! They said you cannot eat the sushi inside. So we asked them why the lady didnt tell us. She comes back and tells him she did tell us that. When he keeps shoving his hands and telling us to eat their food outside! She said she misunderstood he embarrassed her and made very angry. We returned the food and were basically kicked o ut for trying to eat their food inside their own restaurant. Very very disgraceful!
I would rate this restaurant less than one star. Horrible service, and disgusting food. Dont go there. No wonder why they have 3 star rating.
I do not recommend this place, bad food and service
Been here many times love the food it s so fresh and tasty
First time but not happy specially with service. Server treated us as we were eating there for free. Ordered bottle of wine which we slammed at the table and didnt bother to serve even. Wine Glasses were dirty with dust and water marks. Requested to change them but never received cleaned glasses. Food was not great. Washroom upstairs were pathetic, felt like worse than public washrooms. One was out of order and second was full to the top and seemed like never flushed or cleaned for a month. Party of 12 so Gratuity was added in the Bill but server pleaded to give more and said they dont get gratuity so please give more. Fine dining experience which was not fine at all at a premium. Never going back
I went here for the first time and I can say it s the best Chinese food I ve ever had. The staff was so great as well I ll definitely go back and order takeout.
We decided to eat here because the Food Court was crazy busy. The atmosphere was very cool and different from what I ve ever been to before. The food was VERY impressive! I had the Teriyaki Chicken and the quality was amazing - veggies were fresh, rice cooked to perfection, and the sauce had the right amount of sweetness. For the price, it was definitely worth venturing outside the food court! Next time will try dine-in!
YAKKKKKK.... DONT GO THERE if you want to eat something tasty and be respected. DONT GO THERE IF YOUR SKIN COLOUR IS BROWN OR BLACK. They gave us a dirty and judgmental look when we entered. They did not even ask us to sit. When we settled they did not even come to take the order. We called them to take the order and they served the food properly. But never come back to ask if we need anything. They did give us any water, we had to ask them for water. Then they decided to serve water on a whiskey glass and no water jar or bottle or any. Then we asked again for refile. Food was not as tasty as we expected but was okay. At the end when we paid bill, I paid a round figure of $70 for $65 bill. The waiter was asking that I did not pay enough tips. THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK FOR MORE TIPS WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY SERVICE, WITHOUT EVEN SERVING WATER ON A TABLE. When we decided to leave they even stopped us and was asking if we want TIP they with cash or on card !! I was so furious and disappointed. The whole time they were doing anything except giving us a look and now they stopped us for more than $5 tips. I wouldnt mind Tipping them more if they provided us some kind of respect we deserved at least. On the other hand we were not only paying extra attention to the Chinese customer but also were playing with their kids. SO DISAPPOINTED AND ONE OF THE WORSTE PLACE ON THE EARTH TO GO.
Really great food and excellent service. Portions were large as well.
Ordered the spicy beef soup and it was devoid of both spice and flavor. My gf (at the time) ordered the sweet and sour soup and it too was like thick water.
Tasty and delicious food always.
Amazing halal chicken food here. We ordered Satay chicken . And choupsey, and some chicken garlic skewers! Flavours-10/10 Quantity -8.5/10 because skewers was just 2 for $20 Service was pro- the person serving us was great to bring in to go boxes on time Parking: Parking is available at the entrance of Vaughn mills
Chill quiet spot with good food!
Best food ever. Fast service. Food was hot and ready in 15 minutes. Whenever we travel to Vaughan, this is our go to restaurant. Wish we lived closer. We ate in the fancy part of the restaurant.
Not a lot of taste , staff not the friendliest Spring roll is fire. Food
Szechuan Szechuan is a good Asian cuisine restaurant. Thai and Vietnamese cuisine is probably the highlight. Table/seating service and counter/self service is available in this restaurant take-away counter is also made available separately for customers. I ordered food over the counter, and the staff was courteous to explain about the choices and make it easy to decide my dish. Well maintained restaurant, with Asian style/theme interiors. Food was fresh and well cooked. Soup and monks were fine too. It was a quick lunch for me and I found it worth.
Always eat at the express side but we tried the sit down side for the first time and it was great. The food was very delicious, everything was clean, the atmosphere was good, and the most important thing was the service was amazing. Our servers were really nice and made sure all our needs were met. Was a great experience. Will definitely come again! I highly recommend this place.
I ve been eating here for probably 10 years (usually the general tso chicken) and while inflation has caused the prices to increase I can say the quality has never decreased. I love the general tso chicken here and I never get tired of ordering it.
My pregnant wife and I just left the restaurant. The food was cold and the service was not good. The waiters were yelling at each other and arguing with another customer who had been waiting for her food. Once we asked for the bill, the waiter blocked my wife in the booth and she politely said excuse me but he did not let her pass until he checked for a tip. For the first time out we did not tip due to our experience and he said no tip? I explained why and only then he let my wife pass for us to leave. WE WILL NOT BE BACK.
Food is okay at best but dishes barley have any meat, especially considering the price. It is also not very tasty or flavourful. The service is utterly horrible and staff is very rude and short. customer service is non-existent. Would not go back.
I usually order from this place at least 2-3 a month, not only did you charge me extra at my door they forgot an item as well, tried to call but nobody felt like answering the phone for over an hour,, valued customer gone.
Very delicious teriyaki chicken and rice. I was very happy with my meal. Parking: Plenty of mall parking Wheelchair accessibility: The place is wheelchair accessible
Great food, quick and friendly service.
Long waiting time 15 to 20 minutes for your food. The food was served in plastic bowls. I ordered Vietnamese pho soup, the soup was hot, so it didnt feel great to eat in plastic bowls. They also served you with tap water. After finishing your meal, you need to throw out and separate the food waste and the plastic bows by yourself. I feel like it needs more services since it is dine in restaurant. The food court area even has people who help you with food waste.
The crispy beef!
Food lacking.. but its not a bad place for a drink and relaxation
Great mall food. Chicken thai golden curry was delicious
Good atmosphere. Delicious food. Good service.
Be ready to wait for 40 to 50 mins for your order
I have ben eating here gir at least 16 years ,Food is always high quality, weekend be prepared to wait even if you placed your order ahead. My recent experience at the dine in section, service was not friendly
Great food and wonderful service. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
A very very very bad dining experience, the service staff was really rude. We chose this restaurant to dine after shopping. The service staff were very arrogant and said high class. If you want to buy some food from Vaughan mill, like uncle cheese tart, they will told do not talk food from another place, this is a police. They would use sophistry and moral kidnapping, and provided us with a fake manager when we tried to reason with the manager. Their apology was not an apology, Ive already say sorry, what else do you need? Do you need me to kneel down? If I can chose 0, I obviously to chose 0
If I can give 0star I will do it! This place have soooooo rude waiter. After we ordered enough food for two people shared, we just start waiting our food and we are hungry so eat one bread. Then have one staff come and ask us how many years u came to Canada after we told him he start say so u should know in the Canada policy u should not eat outside food in the restaurant, cause it will let restaurant lose money and he also say I tell u this cause I don t want u go to HIGH CLASS restaurant and lose CHINESE FACE It is soooo rude to put the event into another higher level, we try to talk with the manager they send a fake manager to us. So we understood they will not give us polite customer service. The mango salad has something black on the mango, they should keep their eyes on the food safety!
We went for my friends 85 birthday the reservation was for 7:30 we had a group of 14 ppl, we sat at 7:40 and were told that the kitchen would be closing in 30 mins our entire group hadnt arrived yet. The servers were rude all the food came to the table cold, it was 9:15 when they turned the lights on full signaling us to leave, why would they bother to take a late reservation they obviously had issues with is beyond me. The food was less than sub-par. Disappointing at best.
Sat down for lunch in the dine-in section. The service was quite quick, food was delicious and the portions were a great size for sharing. Our servers were very polite. Would definitely try again.
Parking: Parking next to the restaurant can be a challenge as this is inside the Vaughan Mills Center. Kid-friendliness: No kids menu but the restaurant is accommodating when you want to make substitutions.
Worst food,smells bad.
Quality has really decreased over the years Thier dumpling and rice are not the same very disappointed in the change Used to love this place, wont be ordering from here any longer from the one in vaughan
Love this place. Great food everytime. Food : 5/5
Been going there for years always excellent, fantastic food and service !
Simple and welcoming place. Various types of snacks.
The absolute BEST Chinese/Cantonese food. I ve been going here for almost 12 years and their quality has never changed. I don t even live in Vaughan anymore but if I m back that s the first place we think of for dinner! No where compares and I ve tried alottttt of Chinese places! Top favourites Cantonese chow mein, chilli shrimp, chilli fish, general tso, roast chicken, lemon chicken, chicken corn soup. You guys are perfection! Never disappoint!
The good food here is so delicious. The fried rice aroma and taste is amazing. The Korean spicy chicken wings are satisfying. The calamari is the best Ive tasted. The staff are friendly and you can see that they work well together. The restaurants interior is beautiful. I love eating at this restaurant.
It is alright. Large venue, nicely decorated. The food is not gourmet but not bad at all, the portions are meant to be shared, the prices are reasonable. 2 entrees and an order of fried rice are more than enough for 2 people. Therere not too many restaurants in Vaughan Mills so if you dont feel like eating at a super busy food court, this is the place to go.
Very impressed with the quality. The sushi to go is very fresh, and the pho soup is top notch. The prices were amazing too. Will be coming back.
A lot of the food they sell you are left overs from previous days ,maybe even leftovers from other peoples plates. They just mix it up with newer stuff and heat it up and serve it to you. Disgusting!!
This place is sooo good! Their general Tao and the beef ho fun noodles are a must! We ve been coming here for many years!
Stay away from this restaurant. Had an accident at the restaurant (slipped and fell hard on their wet floor) and merely asked the owner for a glass of tap water but they refused even having already purchased a meal there and insisted I buy a bottled water. Such a discourteous and money driven business does not deserve your patronage. Buy from someone more deserving of your business.
The General Tao chicken at Szechuan Szechuan (Vaughan Mills Mall) is the most delectable General Tao Ive ever had. No other restaurants in the GTA or in the Vaughan area could ever come close to this dish. Its really crispy and just has enough spice to it. It is not so soggy or sweet/sticky unlike how any other Chinese/Asian restaurants would make it. You could get the combo that comes with steam rice/fried rice (extra $) or the dish by itself. Definitely a MUST try if you are into savoury Asian classic dishes.
I came by for a quick takeout lunch meal & was pleasantly surprised by the decent flavours of the crispy Cantonese chow mein. While the noodles were not crispy, the dish was loaded with chicken, shrimp, bok choy, mushroom & other vegetables that soaked up the delicious savoury sauce. We also added a cream corn soup that hit the spot too. I ve had the Szechuan Chicken before and it s one of my fav dishes when it s made well. This restaurant has a mash of different menu items including pho, sushi & Thai curry as well. It doesn t have to be perfectly authentic to be a good option at the mall!
The food was excellent, but the service was terrible. There were seven of us for dinner Four of us were served right away and the remaining three waited and waited. When we approached the server he said they were busy and it was coming. We waited another 15 minutes and asked a different server. He went to check and asked us what we ordered. I m pretty sure he just placed it right then. By the time we received our order, everyone else had already finished.
Went in for a dinner with my family, 3 kids and my wife, we ordered a few items, adding up to $125...tge food was good, the service was alright and we had no complaints. At the end of the meal the server brought the bill and DEMANDED at least a 15% tip. This behaviour instantly ruined my evening as my kids were shocked. The gentleman continued to rant about how we didnt want to leave a 15% tip and was obviously upset. The server than went to the back, where I could see him arguing with the host about this. Not good service, Vaughan Mills deserves better.
Amazing food. Top notch staff and service. Delicious fried rice and Mongolian beef. This restaurant has amazing and tasty dishes.
Great food and atmosphere
Ordered take-out. Waited patiently for 25 minutes while the health inspector audited them. Eventually asked how long until the food was ready. They said 5 minutes. We were already running late due to the long wait. Asked for our money back, and before returning the money, they ran to the back to tell them not to make the food. Which means they hadn t even started 25 minutes after ordering. This place is an absolute joke. 0/10 would not recommend
Food was maybe 7/10-8/10 but the service is garbage. They came and grabbed our glasses off after we finished and when I asked for a refill they never acknowledged it. They were to busy talking among them selves all I understood was Calgary and Edmonton. So our table was put on the back burner. They only had 4 tables occupied so wasn t even busy. The bill was $126ish and I didn t tip since the service was trash. Once they gave me the bill and I paid the guy that took the payment got angry and spoke in his language to his colleague. The colleague came and asked oh was there something wrong with the service? Because it wasn t reflected in the bill. Yes sir it was reflected. No tip = bad service. Maybe just do take out. Don t dine in
Flavors and portions great.
Great food never disappointed. Crispy ginger beef is awesome and the lettuce chicken wraps.
Excelent very good food Enjoyed Food
Ginger beef is delicious. Service is amazing, never waiting too long for anything Food
A quick delicious soup
First time at this place, food was fresh and served hot. Chill Chicken and Szechuan Chicken was served first and we had to wait longer for the noodle. When you come hungry and the main element of your order arrives late, its a bummer! Either bring it together or dont bring it at all. What suprised my family and me was the audasity of the server demanding a higer tip. People tip based on food, serivce and their own affordability. But to bluntly say is that all the tip you are putting ..its less than average. If the tip is not enough then you should ask your employer to pay a higher wage not your customers.
My first experience eating at this restaurant was a very delicious one. The lemon chicken was perfectly flavorful, crispy and not gummy like other places Ive eaten at. Tried to eat it all in one sitting but the portion was to plentiful. No complaints here, my type of left overs. Also ordered the Mongolian beef dish. Can I say yummy... Needless to say my belly left happy, full and tastes buds were beyond satisfied. A nice gem of a spot to eat at besides your regular food court in a mall. Bon appetit!
Bought food on Wednesday for almost 50 bucks. Took some out and ate it and the rest in the fridge. Food last only 2 days and been having diarrhea all Friday evening. I guess this place restaurant food cant last more than 2 days... Definitely first and last for me.
Excellent food, the crispy pork is unbelievable, get that and the Mongolian beef. The Szechuan chicken noodles are spicier than expected so keep that in mind. Szechuan chicken was good but not as good as other dishes. Service was fast and really nice, highly reccomend.
Food was a culinary feast, good portion size, flavorful and pleasing presentation - 5 stars. Fairly priced. Server was rude initially. Seated us badly right next to the only other table that was occupied. Extremely rude when asked for washroom location. Became cordial on seeing the size of our order and ended up warm and friendly towards the end of our meal! Washroom - Only 1 stall out of 5 usable. Vegetarian options: Fair number of dishes are vegetarian. Parking: No designated parking for the restaurant. Was lucky to find a slot close enough. Vaughan Mills shopping center parking lot.
Any restaurant that doesn t give you a cup of water deserves a 1 star review in my book. Cheap management that doesn t care about customer service.
First time I had their food was literally the best food , second time great as well third time not great and last time was the worst and will never order again, Ordered noodles which were hard and doughy, general tso was a bit burnt, szechuan was like chewing a rubber band, but what made me mad the most was I ordered house fried rice, didnt say it contained any seafood or meat, it shows up with shrimp and pork, ( I asked when I ordered if anything had shrimp they said no!) so that couldnt be eaten the wonton never stated shrimp either, thank God I had pulled on from another and a shrimp popped out. When I called the restaurant the said nothing they can do about it. I spend $140.00 on food, that a bunch had to be thrown out and cant do anything? Didnt even get an apology, When someone specifically asks about an ingredient due to allergies it should be stated and written on the menu. But glad I noticed and didnt end up in the hospital or worse I will literally tell anyone I can to not trust their food
As good going in as it is coming out! Better quality Chinese food that will clean you out the next morning
I had my birthday celebration there and had a wonderful time
We have enjoyed dine-in previously and I can attest to those reviewers who have experienced poor customer service and what appears to be entitled servers. For the most part though we typically do enjoy the food, service and atmosphere. My only disappointment is that on our recent take out experience the staff didnt add any fortune cookies to my order. Is it because I only tipped 10% for pick up? My wife said to me, why would I tip anything at all?
Terrible
Wasnt happy with the service at all. The waiters english wasnt that good, so difficulty understanding us and the 15% compulsory tip demanded was ridiculous after that awful service.
The food is very good but the service is still abysmal. The waiter attending to our table of 10 was poor at his job and demanded a 15% tip as mandatory service charge.
Talk about getting your money worth! We ordered an appetizer plus two main courses for under $55.00 CAD. Comparing to other similar restaurants, the portion size is way more than what you would expect! SERVICE Top notch! Friendliest staff, super attentive and very polite. The food came out with minimal wait time (5 -8 min max) Food We ordered calamari which didn t come with a dipping sauce but really didn t need it. We did get a side of lemon and that really hit the spot. We ordered a special fried rice which came with shrimp, beef and egg and didn t even need to add any soy sauce. We ordered the Vietnamese beef pho which was amazing. Did ask for Sriracha sauce and they brought it out for us. The serving sizes were so big we had to pack up the fried rice and pho. I just finished re-heating the pho for dinner and now we will have the fried rice for lunch tomorrow. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Good sushi
Horrible service from management to cashiers. I would avoid this hole at all costs
We have been here a couple of times and will definitely be coming back. Service was ok and the food tasted pretty good as well. That broth in the wonton soup was so flavorful, that I actually asked for seconds. See you next time, thank you again.
We got the general tso chicken and shrimp fried rice and it s tasted wonderful! So flavourful and filling for just under $35. I highly recommend!
We came a s grope of 20 people and they refused to give us separate billings! Imagine the mess at the time of payment. They also set the fire alarm to force us to leave sooner. Stay away from Dine in at the place!
Great variety of food. Generous portions.
Not a bad place to enjoy some good food.
Bad service I try to call for oder in the morning. I did know the time they open call them 2 time and 3 time some one pick up the phone sound like mad because I call to oder when they didnt open yet . I feel this employee dont respect the client even client is mistake the time . But not mean employee dont have to sound client like un respect.
Love love love this place. The general tao is AMAZING!!!! SO GOOD. will always love this place.
Been there now a couple of times. Very accommodating and polite staff, good atmosphere and excellent food. Our new favourite for special dinners!
Wow! What an amazing dinner super fast service, friendly staff and amazing quality! Every dish was perfect from the Mongolian beef to the mango salad.
Their food is really bad. I got #7 fried noodle with chicken and it was worse than grocery store ones. Too expensive for their worth. In general staff was rude too. I would not recommend at all, try somewhere else if you can
Every time we come here the food is amazing and so is the service. Definitely recommend this restaurant!! Spicy crispy ginger beef is my favourite! It s delicious!!
Great food
Amazing place. Clean and great service by Simon. Food is very fresh and tasty Food
Things have changed her at Vaughan mills szechuan! Food taste like leftover! Then I added a beef spring roll, I took a bite, it was disgusting & literally smelt like a old dirty rag!!!! I immediately had gone up asking the employee to smell it, that its raw and smells disgusting! I had to rush to their washroom and puked my brains out! I got the 3.00 for disgusting spring roll! While management comes I tell him what the heck was with that spring roll, rudely brushing me that it was to oily! So basically I said your worried I want money for food I puked? Like keep it,! Its worst and worst last 4x I been there! Beware
The waiters were rude, and they were not keen to make us sit in the patio... service was absolutely ZERO.... thold guy was giving excuses for bad service, blaming us for choosing to sit in the patio. Food is good , but if it is served 25 minutes after the starter and tthat too after a reminder, then its not worth it.
We went to this place as the food court was packed to grab a quick bite. We weren t even there for too long, their service was taking our order and giving us our food. We didn t bug them for anything else nor they checked up on us so I normally would just give a 10% tip. To my shock, as this has never happened to me before, the server demands that our tip should be atleast 15%. Last time I ll ever be eating at this place.
Food is exceptional. Atmosphere is great. However, we had a problem with our order. We ordered Mongolian beef and received mango salad. we let the server know, who quickly rectify the situation, we were still charged for a mango salad that we didn t order. I was kind of annoyed and didn t leave a tip, (as my bill was more than I expected with the extra charges of mango salad and pop)the server chased me out the door reminding me I hadn t tipped.
The atmosphere is nice and friendly. The food is also very delicious. would go again
Dont bother, customer service is none existent, food might be so so but thats it. Went 40 min before closing and we were rushed, told that we had to order now, which I already knew what I wanted. First told that dimsum would take 20 min, then told the hat we couldnt order. We didnt bother and just left to go somewhere else, they just dont care. The server seemed annoyed that we showed up 40 min before closing, who knew that was too close to closing time
Dont like the type of food but service and the people working there are kind and friendly.
Food is good. Better than mall Chinese food. Service inside the sit in restaurant side is good. Out where the casual sitting area, the service is rushed. Theyre too busy to care. Im averaging the stars based on both.
It was horrible!! Must be new chef or owners. Used to be amazing. Not anymore. I will never go back
I love this place! It is a great place. My favorites are the Mongolian Beef, Ginger Beef and the Egg Fried Rice!
I ve ordered from this place so many times on Uber eats but this is my first time dining in! It was amazing. Food was so flavourful and delicious. It came out to fast and it was cooked to perfection. There s not a lot of good Chinese spots in Vaughan so this is definitely my new go to!
We celebrated a special occasion with a group of people there we had a very pleasant time, large servings, good service all in all a wonderful evening recommend the restaurant it was clean and great taste and food
This place is a former shadow of its previous self from the days of Szechuan Szechuan in Toronto at First Canadian Place. Too much salt is overpowering all the flavours. Their lemongrass chicken had a nice char but the salt and watered down fish sauce ruined the experience for me. Same with the hot and sour soup, all you taste is a salty broth up front with an aftertaste of what it should taste like. Staff is pretty rude and unattentive here. I ordered food for a whole family, they gave me only 2 spoons and both employees at the front ignored me when I asked for some extra spoons and a small bowl for my young child. I had to flag down one of the servers delivering food who was kind enough to give me what we needed to eat. The only good thing about this place is they have large portions. I will probably wont come here again. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Vaughn mills parking lot
Great place
Service and atmosphere are great overall, but I find that the food (especially takeout) is quite oily sometimes and things sometimes come soggy. Other than that would absolutely recommend.
A lot of the people downvoting this place had nothing to do with it. For example, some people downvoted because their Uber driver delivered an order from the wrong restaurant. Like really guys, what are you doing? Anyways, food is really good. Honestly probably the best Chinese food in the area from my visits/explorations around the area. The wait staff are polite and pleasant, only issue is that theyre not as attentive (you need waive for a bit to get their attention). 4/5. The atmosphere is nice and the tables and chairs are clean and comfortable.
Never disappoints. Always great value and service.
Tofu and veggies were very good. All dishes were good based on friends comments.
General Tso chicken very spicy, burnt and too much sauce
Delicious and a calming atmosphere with no loud music so we could easily visit ... thank you all!
Great food, however wont let you sit down and eat after 8 even though they close at 9.
Worst restaurant experience! We ended up deciding to eat at this place at Vaughan mills and it was our biggest mistake. We ordered the same dish for both me and my husband and my husband s dish had barely any chicken, and when he asked the person at the counter, he said your wife must have ordered the one with extra chicken and that s why she s got more chicken than you. I am attaching our bill to show that we just ordered exactly the same item without any customization. There are no extra chicken or whatever options available at this place. My husband didn t bother arguing and he just wanted to leave this horrible place and he had lost his appetite. I still wanted to share my experience with the staff at the counter and I was shocked with her behaviour and answer. She tells me why don t you give some of your chicken to your husband I mean seriously? I guess she didn t have to tell me that, and also had it been a colleague or a friend would you still expect me to do the same? When I told her why would you say such a thing, she just ignored our whole conversation and just randomly moved on. If you want to be treated by arrogant, ignorant, rude restaurant staff who are going to leave you with no appetite this is just the place. And when you read other reviews and talk to people, apparent this place is known for ignorant rude staff
Today when I placed an order for takeout, fried rice (veg), Singapore noodles (veg), garlic broccoli, Cantonese chicken chow mein and general tso chicken. I was told that my wait would be 15 mins. After a little over half and hour and multiple people who placed there order after mines received their order, I got up to inquire what was going on. The person who took my order went to the kitchen and came back and told me that there was still one dish that needed to be made which was garlic broccoli. I then asked why is it taking so long, and why are people who placed the order after mines are receiving their items. He said he would get the manager. The manager never came out and then after I said that I should get a discount or partial refund and demanded that the manager come out. As now I was there for 45 mins. Once he came out, he wasnt apologetic or even cared that I had to wait and said he cant refund anything. As my time and my value as a customer isnt valued, I will never go back again. And honestly, the restaurant isnt as great as it used to be when they were in FCP.
