We tried the lunch buffet last week and it was delicious.. The sad part was there was only one person to help each and every customer and refill the food.. otherwise it was very wonderful.. pasta salad and the vege salad was just awesome.. a must try..

I had an extremely disappointing experience at daal roti . To begin with, the food was subpar and were bland and underwhelming, lacking the flavors you would expect for the price. What truly ruined the experience, however, was the arrogant and unprofessional attitude of the staff. From the moment we walked in, we were met with disinterest and impatience. The overall service was like there was no attempt to make us feel welcome or appreciated. I expect much better from a place that claims to offer quality food and service. Sadly, this was a complete letdown, and I will not be returning.

We went here in the evening for dinner. Being a veg I was expecting less options but to my surprise they have enough options for veg and the menu is also very descriptive. We ordered monos 65 for starters they were scrumptious and looked so delicious that we could not wait to click and jumped straight in to eating. After that we ordered garlic nan, masala roti and reshmi kadai. Garlic naan was fine cos I could not taste garlic in that. Where as garlic has a prominent taste . But it was good. I have never had masala naan before so it was my trial but it turned out to be amazing. We loved the masala naan it had all the combined taste of masala and was very tasty. The sabzi was also very tasty with a balance of spice , tangy , salty and sweet. It was overall flavourful. Update - I visited this place again today and their food quantity and quality has reduced. Masala naan which I loved last time were not great and I did give this feedback to them . Also the vegetables quantity has reduced as shown in the pic. We also had samosa chaat and vada pav for the first time and I feel that samosa chat is not value for money as u see the quantity . Also Vada pav had lettuce in it . Vegetarian options: I am editing this review as this was the 3 rd time me visiting this place and every time I go I get more and more disappointed. 1 st time I loved the food specially the masala naan 2 nd time the chef changed and masala naan changed to bad 3 rd time the service was bad as what ever we try to order they say it s not there and also not sure of what they will be serving. So we asked for momos served with Manchurian/ schezuan and they said we shall make the momos with available sauce. Not great! Parking: It has lots of open parking in the parking lot of the mall .

Buffet was good

Buffet Avoid the buffet. I visited with my family, and the dining area was swarming with flies, including on the food and in the bathrooms, which had open doors. Not a single dish was enjoyable, and the overall experience was terrible. We were all sick next day. I strongly recommend choosing a tastier and healthier place to eat.

Terrible service unresponsive, unhelpful, and a complete disappointment.

Disappointing experience. Firstly, the food took a very long time to arrive, which is unacceptable. When the food finally arrived, it was undercooked, and upon raising this issue, the staff argued instead of resolving it. To make matters worse, the lady at the front was quite rude. Management needs to take immediate steps to improve both the service and food quality.

We ordered take out food dal makhni , madras chicken and garlic naan. Dal makhani was average Madras chicken was very sweet and too much cardamom flavour in it. Over all the food we tried was below average.

We had chicken kadai, which was not fresh, did taste a little bit bitter. Apart from that very costly. We were 2 people nd it did cost us almost $100 for only 2 curries nd appetizer. If you want best taste for non-veg, go to shaz restaurant in scarborough, you will be amazed.

Overall food & service were ok. The place needs some renovation. Nilgiri koftas tasted ok but had big pieces of ginger and overwhelming taste of cardamom. Paneer bhurji was decent. Garlic Naan was too chewy and laccha paratha was so thick, parts of it was under cooked.

We are living in canada from 1991but have never tried Daal roti. When we visited the place the staff responded immediately and we were accommodated to table . The manager suggested us Paneer lababdar , Reshmi kadai paneer and Bhindi masala with there special bread Garlic chilli cheese naan and bullet naan. The suggestion were so good it took us back India and really after so many years we got that indian flavour that we were looking for in canada . Even we came to know that they have buffet s on weekday for just $15.99 and weekend for just $20.99 and they have more then 30 items in buffet that really a great thing. Thanks to Jahnvi , Harsh and Gopal for serving us so well. Will definitely recommend people to visit the restaurant.

Very less quantity.. we ordered mushroom tikka and there were only 6 small mushrooms for 16$. Also, 60% of their menu was out of stock. Anyhow, server was good. Not worth spending money here.

This place was a total disaster. The chicken was overcooked and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The other dishes were equally bad, with everything from the vegetables to the sauces being inedible. We couldnt even finish our meals. It was an awful experience, and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Gopal is the employee of this restaurant

I ordered a chicken curry meal and when I received it , there was barely any chicken. The ration of sauce to chicken was way off. There were at most 3 pieces of chicken a bunch of sauce.

Naan/bread was good. But currys - all frozen/ready to eat gravy. You can FEEL the preservative taste. Too many bees around chaat corner. Affordable but NOT QUALITY FOOD.

I took the buffet and it was the most pathetic choice. They gave shredded cheese for cheese butter masala and the pani puri was extremely bad. Lots of sugar in Manchurian, the tandoori chicken was not tender at all and the list goes on. I paid $24 plus tax but the food was not worth a single dollar.

Do not take the buffet. The food quality and the taste is pathetic both for veg/non veg dishes.

I would like to start with Service- one star rating is due to the excellent customer service service given by the girls. If we talk about food, one star is overly rated as well, negative rating should be given to this restaurant s food. Disgusting food, goat curry was served with half cooked goat and also rotten. Feels like it was prepared weeks ago. Butter chicken was too sweet, and tasteless. And we got sick after consuming that food. My child started puking on the way back home. Horrible experience and unhygenic food. No value for money.

Food, service, quantity and quality were amazing. Amisha and janvi hats-off to you guys. You guys do wonderful job. The chef should get the credit as well, the way everything was prepared according to specific detail. The jain food was a delight, to get this good jain food is nearly impossible. I recently ordered from Daal Roti Restaurant, expecting a comforting and flavorful meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. While the roti was decent, the daal tadka was a major disappointment. It lacked flavor, was overly watery, and more over Gujarati daal than daal tadka. When we expressed our dissatisfaction and asked for the daal tadka to be removed from the bill, the chef came out, but instead of addressing our concerns, he rudely walked away, offering only a 50% discount from Dal tadka item only. Vc The lack of courtesy and professionalism was shocking. For a place that claims to specialised in traditional Indian food specifically for daal, the quality of the daal and the poor customer service made for a very disappointing experience. The main owner of the restaurant needs to really look into the matter and improve quality of food and services.

My recent visit to this restaurant was a disaster. We ordered five items: Tomato Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Harabhara Kabab, Manchurian with medium gravy, Dal Tadka, and Rice. To start with, they didn t even have the Hot and Sour Soup in stock, so we had to settle for the Tomato Soup. It was disgustingly sweet and drowned in black pepper, making it almost inedible. The Harabhara Kabab was the only slightly decent item, but the chutney was so brutally spicy it was painful, even for someone used to spicy food. The Manchurian was a mess so mushy it fell apart before it even touched my fork. The Dal Tadka was the worst offender. It was a watery, over-spiced disaster that burned from the moment it hit my mouth until it settled painfully in my stomach. More like a gujarati watery daal. Upon raising the issue, they gave excuse to tell when we eat first spoon, like how can someone judge in 1 spoon considering 1 daal shared among 4 people. This restaurant failed miserably on all fronts. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

We had a bad experience of dinning at this branch. Plates were dirty. We ordered Goat curry. It was so spicy that we could only taste red chilly in it. We do asked server and they offered us curd as a solution. I would not recommend this to anyone.

The service at this restaurant was the worst I ve ever encountered. The server was unhelpful, and when we brought our issues to management, they were dismissive and unresponsive. The lack of professionalism and accountability made for an extremely frustrating experience.

Food quality and taste is extremely bad and when you eat you can feel the food is not fresh would not recommend at all money wasted. I don t deserve this taste after paying 24 for buffet. I have tried many locations of Daal roti franchise ( Mississauga, Niagara and bolton) but i feel like Vaughan has the best taste Daal Roti has to offer!!!!! Tried Daal Tadka (double tadka as the guy suggested) kaju masala and chicken tikka masala !!!! As always absolutely loved it 100%!!

Exceptional Dining Experience at Daal Rotti I visited Daal Rotti last night and was blown away by the incredible service, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere. Our server, Anish s was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The naan and butter chicken was cooked to perfection, with flavors that popped and a presentation that impressed. The pilaf was equally impressive, with tender meat and a rich, savory sauce.

One of the worst experience till date I have been to many branches of daal roti before abd they have great food but this particular location has very bad food my food came so cold plus the briyani had no taste our masala papad went to some other table we where done eatting still they did not come it was a total waste of $58

I had their lunch buffet a few days ago. I was probably their first visitor for the day around noon. Somethings like butter naan seemed to be served reheated so were not fresh. The Indian food was okay, except the makhni paneer (main course dish) which was good. The taste and flavours could have more North Indianess I think. The Hakka Chinese food like Manchurian were not good in taste as for me. The number of options were good enough for a buffet. Lastly, the cutlery did not seem to be clean enough and well presented.

I had buffet on weekend, not even worth for $10. They just lied on website about the menu. I could see just 2 dishes from the menu. There was no taste at all. Old food not fresh, lamb was black and hard. I would recommend first have a look at their buffet then start. Would never recommend anyone.

Decent buffet. 16.99 instead of advertised 15.99. Enough veg options for me, though the rice was crunchy. I did notice one side of the buffet was a lot hotter than the middle, so if the owner reads this i think you should check your temp and get it fixed. Samosas are nicer warm. That being said, the galub juman were lovely and boiling hot. Server waa nice.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The owner and manager served same buffet food for 3 to 4 days, and they only make tandoori items once a month. They serve rotten paneer and meat; when I worked there, the fridge was down for 2 days, but they still used the same food. Shockingly, they use the skewers meant for tandoor to clean toilets. They change the oil only once every 10 days. The kitchen is infested with food flies. Before ordering, check the kitchen yourself. While the rest of the staff is great, the owner, Harsh, and the manager, Kaivan, treat everyone terribly and use offensive language towards the staff.

At this restaurant, I had a very bad experience. For three or four days, the owner and manager provided the same buffet fare, and they only prepared tandoori dishes once a month. Interestingly, they clean toilets with tandoor skewers. Every ten days, they simply replace the oil once. Food flies are all over the kitchen. Look into the kitchen yourself before placing an order. The owner Harsh and the manager Kaivan treat everyone horribly and use foul language at the personnel.

The food was very good and tasty We went for launch buffy, the restaurant shoul not keep places which are already chipped I saw many places on rhe counter not good for customer ro have their food in those places. Thank you for good service too really appreciated.

Food has gone way down in quality. Also portions have gotten smaller. They changed the serving dishes. Service is good. But I think they changed owners Tried asking if they didnt but the didnt give me a straight answer. This place used to be our go to India restaurant. Their original location was great in mississauga. This place used to be good. But the taste has gone down. Either too salty or not enough flavpur. Smaller portions. And they made us pay 18% tip cuz we were a family of 5...2 adults and 3 kids under 5 years old...didnt know a 2 and 3 year counted as toward a high tip percentage. We will not be back...very sad since this was our go to place.

We visit Daal Roti at least once every month, and the quality of food at the Vaughan branch is much better than any other location. They cater to your spice level preferences and offer customization of dishes. Whenever I go to Daal Roti, I always ask for Jaanvi. She is excellent at her job, listens attentively and suggests dishes based on your taste. The entire team here is friendly

We visited Daal Roti today and had an amazing experience. The food was incredible, and the service by Jaanvi was exceptional. She recommended the Samosa Chaat and Paneer Lababdar, which was the chefs special, and both dishes were outstanding. Dont miss out on the Garlic Cheese Naan its a must-try. To all Mumbaikars out there, you need to try this place!

Jhanvi provided an excellent experience with delicious food and top-notch service. We tried the Nilgiri Kofta and Tandoori Roti, and the portions were just right for two people.

Everything we had here had so much flavour and tasted amazing. The quantity is also decent given the price. Very friendly staff, they make you feel home. Best place to dine in after a long day at Vaughn Mills.

I placed an order for take out when first arrived it took a while before anyone noticed and asked why I was there. Than quickly the bill was given along with my food, excitedly I take the food home only to taste and be disappointed, the daal makhani tasted as it was not fresh but a day or 2 old the chilli chicken was over cooked and tasted like they tried to hide the over cooked chicken with extra seasoning. I also found hair throughout the order, either in my naan or the curries I had ordered. Disappointed as I did previously had a good experience. Maybe I might try again but this experience has given me a pause for now.

Had the worst experience ever here. My friends and I went there for dine in and found chicken piece in dal. We asked the servers twice to call the manager and when he arrived he threw an attitude instead of apologising and also mentioned if you come to dal roti, you can mention that your friend is pure vegetarian so we will cook separate for him. And he added you guys order non veg so we assumed that the whole table eats meat. I don t think its the customers responsibility to do that in first place to inform that this person is veg and this one eats meat. Second is meat shouldn t be in any vegetarian dish such as dal and paneer etc.Then instead of apologising he started explaining this might have happened due to too much orders we get on the take out so it got puzzled . DON T visit ever the food was cold af and no taste.

Food was definitely a 5 star as well as the atmosphere here. The service lagged a little I would say but it always depends on the day and time when you are visiting, I found the service a little slow but very friendly staff. All order were prepared with 100% attention to the details.

Tried dinner buffet for the first time at this location. Eventhough it was quite busy because of someones event, servers provided A one service . And the food was really good , especially kaju masala and fish pakora. Looking forward to dine in next time!!

Went there for the first time with my friends and ordered reshmi malai paneer. There was a long thick black hair found inside the paneer. Sahil(receptionist) refused to admit it was inside the paneer. Worst experience. Had to leave within 10 minutes of dine in. Worst customer service experience.

We recently went to this restaurant, food was good. Special mention to veg Kofta curry and wheat roti. But the service was extremely horrible. The service-person, they dont even smile at you, they just kept the plates and didnt even count the cutlery and water glasses. All they seem to do is go inside-out of kitchen and eating bites and coming out with that chewy face. It was that evident. And wait time was nearly 45-50 minutes. They really need to improve on their service.

They are giving hot dog bun for pavbhaji, didn t like the taste of anything. They don t lemon for it plus they don t even have red onion for salad.
