I recently had the pleasure of dining at urban maharajas and I must say it was an experience to remember! From the moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance and attentive staff made me feel welcome. The menu is thoughtfully curated with a variety of options to suit every palate. I tried the chilli cauliflower, and it was nothing short of perfection the flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, offering excellent recommendations and checking in just the right amount. The attention to detail in both the food and service is unparalleled. I left feeling incredibly satisfied and eager to return. Best Indian Food

The positives - the food was quite good and we were pleasantly pleased with all the main dishes that were ordered. The atmosphere is very nice, very upscale and modern. The not-so-positive - The service was a bit disappointing. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, however, despite this it took a very long time to order and for the food to arrive. Additionally the servers did not circle back to check if anyone wanted a second drink despite not being busy. In total, wed waited almost 2 hours from sitting down to have dinner. I believe there may have been a large catering order that may have backed-up the kitchen - however, this could have been communicated better. Addl note: The mixed grill from the tandoor was disappointing, the beef was tough and lacking flavour and the overall portion size is not worth the price. Overall, I would come back if better attention was paid to the service.

Long term review: Have ordered the same from this location a few times since feb, 2024 and it was worthy of a 5 star back then. Recently the bread size has gone down and wait times have skyrocketed. Placed an order at 11:30 on phone, was told the food would be ready by 12 noon, and ended up waiting another 20 minutes in the restaurant waiting for my take out.

Restaurant was good naan and tandoori roti was great curry was average not really good and the main thing girl was serving us looks in bad mood not a tinny bit smile on her face really don t like that either ask for beer never got that not really happy with service supervisor should look into it

We ordered daal makhni it was nothing but oil and red food colouring, even our hands were in red colour We also ordered malai kofta over seasoned and poorly made , again full of yellow food colouring. I used to come here for business lunches but with this kind of quality of food, I m not coming here nor recommending it.

Not very honest with there serving. I ordered two separate Items. The servers then gave me two options to pick for the dipping sauce, yogurt or Rieta, assuming it comes with my order for free. She then hands me the bill and strategically hides that its extra cost. I have no problem with paying the extra charge, but i believe this is shady business. No tip for you young lady. Wont be coming here again.

We booked upper hall today for a bday party (30people), and it was really great experience. Quality and taste of food was very good. Staff members, specially Simran and Taran, and their other teammates were quite cooperative and understanding. Thank you guys for making our day special.

Food has always been on point until tonight, salty and hardly and protein in our chicken curries. Also, the services was painfully slow, 45 minutes before food came and appetizer never made it to the table. Last beef is the pricing of the naan, each main is served with naan for 0.99 , we ordered only 1 naan then when we ordered another we were charged 3.00. Weve been coming here for 4 years and sadly this will be the last time. Do better.

We planned my Twin sister s Bridal Shower here and we had the best time!! The food was amazing and our guests and especially the bride and groom to be were thrilled!! Delicious food!

Simran, the server, was the only staff member managing the entire establishment without any assistance, which was quite disheartening to witness. I greatly appreciate her efforts under such challenging circumstances. We reserved a table for 8:15 PM and were seated promptly at 8:00 PM, as we arrived early. However, we were waiting for two of our friends to join us. Despite this, we were asked to place our order quickly, which we did at 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, the food did not arrive until 9:45 PM. This was extremely disappointing, especially since we had already informed the staff that we had been waiting for over an hour and a half. The food itself was mediocre, and to our dismay, they substituted the potatoes with paneer without consulting us, which was quite a disappointment. Regarding the drinks, we requested a non-alcoholic piña colada and inquired if it was available. The next thing we knew, we received a piña colada that was excessively sour, and no one informed us that they typically do not prepare non-alcoholic versions. It appears that our inquiry was mistakenly taken as an order. When we asked the server (not Simran) to confirm with the kitchen, they said they would check and get back to us, but this did not happen. The most troubling aspect was that even after we lodged an official complaint, and began receiving our food around 9:45 PM on a Wednesday evening, not all the dishes were served together. When the remaining bread was finally brought out, we were left without the corresponding curry. This caused everyone to eat out of order, as the bread was not ready and we were all quite hungry. To add to our frustration, we were informed that we needed to place any additional orders within the next five minutes, as the restaurant had decided to close at 10:30 PM. This was particularly unreasonable given that we had not received our entire order by 9:55 PM, yet we were expected to adhere to the kitchens closing time. Overall, our experience was deeply unsatisfactory. Our mood and appetite were significantly affected as we had come to dine after a busy day, having specifically reserved a table to avoid waiting on a potentially busy weekday. Regrettably, there was no apology offered for the poor service and disrespect we encountered.

Just did a take out tandoori chicken for myself. The chicken was dry and hard, it seemed as if the chicken was left over for many weeks. Very very disappointed. Non juicy, non tender worst tandoori chicken i have ever had.

The Cheese Naan was a treat, with its gooey, melted cheese offering a wonderful contrast to the crispy exterior. And for dessert, the Gajar ka Halwa was simply divine. We catered food for 35 people. Main dishes included baingan bharta, coconut subzi, kadhai paneer, and biryani. Every person found every bite of each item extremely delicious. This has been my regular spot for the family takeout and now tried them for a big party. As the host I was extremely satisfied with the service from getting answers to all the questions before ordering to help with selecting the dishes to confirmation a day prior to the morning of and finally pickup at exactly at the time that was promised. I had never seen the quantity of raita enough for the biryani you get, until now. Very happy I didn t have to worry about making extra raita at home. Generous portions as promised. Nothing like having enough leftover for a family of 4 and not having to worry about the next meal after hosting a huge party. Overall, truly and extremely satisfied with absolutely everything and the entire experience. Even my guests called me the next day to appreciate the food.

The only reason for 4 stars would be due to the portion size and the malai kofta only came with 3 koftas. Would come again

We had mixed veg vindaloo which was delicious but even at mild still a bit spicy for us. We had tandoori momos which were delicious - stuffing was yum- again a bit too spicy for us. Naan was perfectly soft. Service was ok.

I had Urban Maharajas for the first time this evening, and I feel like my overall experience is a bit discombobulated. Theres things I really enjoyed, and a lot that fell short as well. Please keep in mind that this review is based on a single takeout experience only from the new Esplanade-Toronto location! What I ordered: -Chicken Tikka: Definitely my favourite of the three. It was very rich without being super overwhelming. It had a nice consistency that was very creamy and kind of greasy but in a really nice emulsified way - kinda like a hollandaise but thicker and with more substance. Sort of a gross way to describe it but it was actually great lol. - Schezwan Popcorn Chicken: Decent. Not particularly crispy, not particularly chicken-y, not particularly schezwan-y. Good tang and sweetness, but not particularly great. Pretty much not crispy at all. - Naan (w/ butter): Good but not anything out of the ordinary - a little thinner than Im used to and not as fluffy as I like. Still pairs nicely with a curry since it was so rich. The biggest thing that I found this meal was missing was *either* substance, or some kind of wow factor. It really didnt have either. I find the prices they have kind of ludicrous considering the portion that you get. The popcorn chicken was pretty small and not a lot of them, maybe just smaller than a ping-pong ball and only about 9~ of them. Not bad, but they were not particularly high-end/exciting and were also $18. The chicken tikka was admittedly good, and considering the location - $28 dollars isnt THAT insane for the portion you get. Its pretty generous and overall good. What is a little disappointing is that it doesnt come with a side: rice, naan, etc.. Its extremely rich and honestly a little overbearing without something to take the richness away. Considering the naan is $4 each, I probably wouldnt order this again with at least 2 naan since theyre so thin and only enough for about half the portion. Overall, I spent $50 for one person. I wasnt super satisfied with the portion or blown away by the dishes in any manner. I would consider coming back here if I really felt like Indian food, but I would only come here if you dont mind spending money on good food thats a bit over priced. P.S. To owner if you read this, would love to see the price adjusted/portion increased on the popcorn chicken :)

Restaurant was under staffed, waitress Simran (no fault of her) was stressed, less trained than what she should have been. Starters were delayed and then, we were rushed to place main order. We were the party of 16 guests and 15% service charge was automatically included. I appreciate what servers do and would never mind this service charge or wouldn t mind tipping extra; but not for the service we experienced. And the feedback applies more to the management or owner rather than serving staff. Also, food was saltier than it should be.

Today i visited the restaurant first time with my italian friends to celebrate one of thems birthday.They were so excited to try the indian food .we ordered some food but the server seems so rude.She was making faces on us like as we were asking her to bring something ,sometimes she was rolling eyes.My friends were got upset because of her behavior.They enjoyed the food .They did not felt welcomed there.Overall food was good .I forget to ask her name.She did not even introduced herself to us.We had lunch around 1:30pm today.
