This used to be my absolute go to place. Fresh sushi, great price, thoughtful details, especially for takeout! But the past few months ive been, not only has the price gone up, the quality of the food has gone down. Definitely not my go to chirashi bowl anymore. Decent but unfortunately degraded :(

Hands down, the best maki rolls in Vaughan.

They have some good sushi, but nothing stood out. The atmosphere and service I are average.

Consistently good sushi. Fair price. I like double salmon maki.

I visited the restaurant and inquired about substituting the ikura in the NegiToro Ikura Don with something else. The employee s response was, What do you want to substitute it for? followed by a chuckle, which felt a bit unprofessional. I clarified that I was open to any available options, but if substitutions weren t possible, I would choose something else. After a moment of silence, I asked again if substitutions were allowed, and the answer was a simple no. I would have appreciated a more straightforward and courteous response from the start.

Definitely recommend IKON Sushi !!! I fell in love from the first bite and they prove how good they are with every order I did afterwards!! I can t find the place which can beat them now! Portions are big, food is fresh and super tasty. Also big cheers to the staff who work hard for the customers satisfaction! Today, I had uber driver mixed up my order and was giving me someone s else instead of mine from Ikon. I called the store to advise on the situation and they immediately reacted saying they will make a new order for me and will bring to my office. Biggest thanks to your team of wonderful people making my even late lunch tasting delicious!!!

This place does not even deserve 1 star. The food wasn t bad but the service I got from this place was absolutely garbage. I came Sunday, Sept 1st around 3pm and the guy working looked and acted like he did not want to be there at all. It took us over 25 min to get our food and we were the ONLY people in the restaurant. I was asking the guy simple questions about the menu and he was giving passive aggressive responses. He kept shaking his head and saying cuss words under his breath. I wish I could have got his name but to the guy who was working that day if you don t like your job then why be there? I will not be returning to this place. Just awful customer service.

The guy who takes orders is one of the most miserable people I ve ever came across. He must have some anger issues and he definitely lacks manners and respect which is shocking from a Japanese establishment.

The food was delicious. Lots of selection and fresh. The service was friendly and fast. They serve their food in disposable to-go containers, but I assume its because a lot of their business is take-out? Definitely would return!

Saw the amazing reviews so decided to come by on late weekday to see what the hype was about. I ordered about 3 rolls with a friend which was around $33+tax for 3 rolls. The rolls were quite delicious and good for the price! I d definitely recommend if you re looking for a good sushi spot.

Best sushi in town! My husband and I wanted to try something different and we picked this one based on review. We ordered the Negitoro Ikura don with Hamachi, Aburi White Tuna Oshi, Double Salmon and Aburi Scallop Dragon. I had Negitoro Don in Kyoto and it amazed me, so I keep looking for it wherever I go. It is really rare to find Negitoro don in Toronto, and they did a good job with it. They incorrectly gave us an Aburi Salmon Oshi instead of the White Tuna, when I clarified that they gave us the White Tuna on the house as apology. Great service! The four rolls all came out nicely, fresh ingredients and tasting differently but the sauces all brought the best out of them. When we saw the size of the rolls, and how much topping there was on the don, we seriously wondered whether the restaurant can make a living offering such a great quantity...I hope they do well as Im certainly coming back! We couldnt finish half of the food we ordered and asked them to pack it to go. We were again amazed by the ofuroshiki or wrapping cloth they used. It was a great surprise and perfect ending for our date night. So lovely!

Got food poisoning

Food was good. Not cheap but ok. Unagi rice was quite good. Unagi could be a bit more crispy on top. Staff was not the most cheerful people i saw today.. Kid-friendliness: 2 high chairs

Honestly didnt know what to expect after waiting an hour for my order on a Saturday night. The wait was well worth it. The ingredients were very fresh, and their menu is reasonably priced. My only gripe is the service was slow, though for good reason as they were busy that night.

Delicious, fresh and affordable sushi! We got the supreme party tray for 2 and there was a nice variety of rolls, sashimi and nigiri - all super fresh! For the price, it was a good amount of sushi for 2 people!! We would definitely come back!

Freshest sushi in Vaughan. If you are a sashimi lover as well, this is the place to be. A lot of places serve sashimi bit, but this place is a proper sushi place with fresh delicious sashimi. The rolls are also one of our favorites . Always fresh !

Its worth trying this place because they offer cute packaging, but I feel like its also a little bit of a gimmick and possibly creates a lot of waste. We bought the vintage rolls set A. The fish was fresh and the flavor was good, but after eating a few pieces, we felt that the flavors didnt vary enough for us to distinguish between them. They had really good wasabi, but we were surprised that they didnt provide ginger. In general, its an okay sushi place, but in my opinion, the reviews are a bit overrated.

I live in Vaughan and it s surrounded by tons of AYCE spots. But sashimi there tastes really really bad and completely ruined my experience. I m glad I found this place. It has the best sashimi in town with various fish and seafood. I would recommend trying their tuna at least once. The supreme sashimi set comes with otoro/ chutoro which is fatty, slightly sweet and has a deep flavor unlike those worse-than -Jello cheap cuts in other restaurants. Quality fish is expensive, I have no complaints about the price.

I like the presentation of the sushi, they wrap your order is a cute tie dye blanket so it would be perfect for a picnic in the summer. The fish was fresh and the rolls were big. This place is comparable to toro toro, both are great. I think IKON is more bang for your buck. The only thing I would recommend is obtaining a higher quality wasabi.

This is a great spot for takeout sushi. The sashimi cuts were thick and the fish was very fresh. The fish was definitely very high quality and you can TASTE IT. The party tray I ordered are also wrapped in a Furoshiki; super cute and sustainable! I got the vintage sushi, sashimi and roll set which comes with 90 pieces. It s perfect for about 3-4 people and there s a good variety in the platter. One of the best in the area! This place is cash and debit only

Great food and generous portions. The staff was very nice. I brought 2 young children here after going to Legoland. It was a perfect spot to enjoy good Japanese with young children. The place was bright and clean. Id definitely go back again.

This place deserves more love. It is very accommodating, sushi is ultra fresh and the chefs meticulously prepared the items which shows passion in their work. We had the S5 sushi, sashimi and roll tray and it was delicious. Folks, please try this place and judge for yourself. For me, its definitely one of the best in town.

The premium tray was sooo good. The sashimi was thick and fresh! There wasnt too much rice in the nigiri and whatever that purple roll is was delicious. We also got the Inari tray and honestly its a little too much rice and the tofu is too sweet, but overall Id say its worth it for the sushi.

This is a late review as I got takeout in January. Fantastic presentation and they don t give you plastic bag, it s all wrapped in a cloth. Fish was fresh and good portions. I got 3 different dishes, pictured below. I spent approx $90-100 because of the Uni. Otherwise, other options are more budget friendly. Recommend!

Its like eating plates of beautiful art! The package is so different from other Japanese restaurant. You can totally see the efforts, plating, vintage clothe wrapped instead of regular packaging for takeout / delivery, but thats also where portion of the money went. Food

Excellent food. My daughter and I stopped for a quick early dinner before her soccer game in Maple. We hadnt been there before and are not from the area. We wanted a place where the food was decent, we could sit down and we didnt want to wait long to eat. IKON was all of this and the food was really amazing. My daughter ordered three types of rolls and said they were the best shed had. My bbq eel donburi definitely was the best. Everything was made fresh and served warm. Service was very friendly. Cant wait to be back in the area to go to IKON again.

We went as a family of 4 and ordered the supreme sushi, sashimi and roll combo. The food was so fresh. Even the one who doesnt like sushi says its good and wanted more. It says it all. While we were there, there were constantly people coming in to get takeout. Simple decor, only a few tables for dine in option. Staff were nice and friendly.

I highly recommend the Chirashi Don! Not only is it filling and delicious, but so much fresh and high quality ingredients are put into it! They certainly do not cheap out on the amount of fish they incorporate into each order. You can see the quality of the food through their presentation which was like a colourful work of art that took lots of care and effort!

Simply the best sushi !!!!

Came here to grab takeout dinner. Ended up getting a negitoro donburi with hamachi and variety of sashimi. Roll that we wanted to try was unavailable due to not having uni in store, that was disappointing. The sashimi was decent though the otoro was still frozen and not thawed all the way through, as you re eating it the middle of the fish is still frozen solid while the surrounding fish was smooth and buttery. The donburi bowl was lacklustre for what you pay for atleast. Rice was hard wasabi was not fresh. Upside was that the donburi serving was huge.

I was in the mood for some sushi and decided to give this place a try. Ordered takeout/delivery and was pleasantly surprised! Presentation lovely, fish was fresh and very tasty! Will be ordering again!

Food - It was pretty fresh, with a good selection, and the packaging is adorable. Sometimes, they will wrap it up in a cute fabric instead of a bag. I ordered the purple sushi and a platter. My sister said the only thing she didnt like was how big it was, and it would fall apart. Shes used to smaller sushi and eating everything in one bite. For me, I didnt mind! Service - The staff were all friendly, professional, and hard working. Couldnt ask for more. I came during a rush, and I felt that they took an appropriate amount of time. I usually get bbt at The Alley nearby, and when I get back, the sushi is done. Ambiance - They had a modern deco, which homage to seafood and sushi. Clean and bright, too! They have a few seating indoors. They are right behind vaughan mills and plently of parking. I would definitely come back.

Best sushi in vaughan, and at a very affordable price. My favourite sushi place in GTA+Toronto for <50 per person, which is good enough to compete with the 50-100 range. Lunch special is a steal at 20 after tax for enough sushi for 2 and a drink.

Was hearing a lot of hype on IKON sushi so i decided to give it a go. I went for the vintage maki platter. The platter came with a lot of option. The fish was super fresh and the way the rolls were made was very high quality. Next time I go I ll explore more of the menu.

The sushi is IKONIC! The freshness, flavour and presentation is fabulous. Service was also really great. Better than Toro Toro next door, will definitely be coming back here. Highly recommend!

The best sushi Ive ever tried!!!

Interior is on the small side (like four tables of four) so I would recommend preparing for taking take out instead. It was 10/10 presentation even ordering to go, they had wrapped all the sushi in nice boxes and cloth. 10/10 quality of fish, would go back to eat again! Parking: Parking is in a plaza, plenty around the area.

Dont be fooled by the location. This is not your average sushi joint. This place will surpass all your expectations and then some. While many of the options arent traditional there is a lot of thought and techniques put into every roll and cut of fish. I will return.

Very nice place. Why 4 stars? Tea was served in paper cups (teapot would make it much more enjoyable), and something strange with salmon in my black dragon set. Was it frozen before? Price - the lunch cost us $40+ per two. Considering that I am 63 and 275lb, came hungry and left full - the cost was very reasonable. Recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised at the set options here. I d definitely recommend S5 or S6 if you have more people to share with. I like that they don t overdose on sauces which takes away from the freshness of the fish. There aren t a lot of dine-in tables and I think this location is made more for takeout but we dined in and it was nice and spacious. It s debit or cash only. Price wise, it s not cheap but it s also not crazy expensive, I d say decent pricing for some premium options.

Got the Supreme Otoro Set ($60) and the Negitoro Ikura Don with Uni ($46). Both were fantastic. Loved every piece on the Otoro set, love that the hand rolls have the seaweed wrap rolls separately to keep them fresh. Everything was so tender. The Uni in the ikura don platter was so incredibly soft. Uni really is something special. Service and presentation were top notch as always.

I really like their Markham location. Always hoped they would have a store in Vaughan. Can t wait for this one to open.

So happy to try IKON sushi at new Vaughan location. Same freshness as the Markham location. They use the same packaging as well. Ample of parking and wait time is not long. Recommend to try for a more authentic sushi experience! Their rice and soy sauce are special, give it a try and you ll know what I mean!

Delicious! Good presentation and service

Its my first time trying IKON sushi at the Vaughan location. I have been to their Markham location many times and not disappointed. The Vaughan location is larger than the Markham, more waiting space. Must try to Otoro set. 12 pcs for $58 is a steal! Look at those fatty fish! Other sushi place will charge you $8 to $10 for 1 pc so this set is definitely worth it. Their hand rolls come with the plastic wrap to make sure the seaweed is still crispy when you enjoy it at home. Overall I would recommend this chic sushi place for takeout!

We had take out on their soft opening week back in January. The service was excellent! The business was prompt and responsive when I reached out via FB msg to ask question prior to my ordering. The pick up was fast and easy. The quality was amazing! Love the packaging and high quality of sashimi!!

BEST tuna sashimi! Their Otoro melts like butter all their sushi and sashimi tasted really good, and they have some really unique rolls, like their salted egg soft shell crab. Presentation was really nice too. They even wrapped our box with a bento cloth. Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful, delicious and aesthetic..

Definitely a crowd pleaser. Everything from the reusable packaging to the nicely portioned sashimi, everything was packaged well and neatly so would be impressive for most lunches. Ordered the V7. Vintage Sushi, Sashimi & Roll party tray and it was enough for 4-5 adults and 4 kids who ate only rolls. A couple observations, it would be nice to have white rice instead of the black and barley rice and no one was a fan of the mackerel sashimi but some may enjoy it so personal taste. They were thoughtful enough to accommodate a change for the raw shrimp so doubt this will be an issue to swap out mackerel next time. Definitely a place to try and will be ordering again.

This place might be the best quality sashimi in Vaughan. I have pretty high standards and when we moved to Vaughan we missed having higher quality sashimi/sushi. Definitely recommended to anyone! Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

An IKON has arrived in town! Yep, its yet another sushi spot in the growing Vaughan food scene. Premium presentation is their game, to prove not all sushi are the same. This is their second location following the Markham restaurant in Yelps Top 100 list. So when a hotspot decides to open near us, then theres good reason to visit. We called IKON ahead to order a selection of their popular items: Chirashi Don (D3) along with their House & Philly Rolls (P1 & 2). The latter was labelled as a PA Roll here. An upsize from Philly to Pennsylvania, like lox with more cream cheese! Our takeout order was packed in cloth fabric for a more traditional touch. Chirashi Don was a well-presented box of cubed sashimi, tamago, okra. Assorted salmon, tuna, octopus & snapper were firm & fresh but faintly distinguishable together. Salmon roes popped to provide little ocean bursts. Brown akazu sushi rice was a highlight of the Chirashi Don and Philly Roll; each grain tasted rich & smooth. Purple rice wrapped around the House Roll tempura & avocado. This new IKON location is situated beside The Alley in a less frequented plaza by Vaughan Mills. The sleek red interior is spaciously setup for takeout. The centre wall is focused on tuna cuts. With that focus on fish, we devoured our raw sushi meal with satisfaction.

Glad to try this new sushi bar out, similar to Toro Toro with the take out box but with little more love using the cloth for added presentation and also the menu is very different. Sushi was good and will be a nice dinner date at home for the lazy cook. Overall good sushi for the price.

wow this party tray was BEYOND delicious! I think the sushi / sashimi stood out more than the rolls so next time I would just get the sushi box, but the fish was so fresh, generous, and thick cut. The tuna in particular was like butter! the little bit of caviar on top of the sushi tasted so good! Do yourself a favour, pick up some sushi from Ikon, grab a drink, and go sit in the park and have the best picnic of your life!

We got the S6. Supreme Sushi, Sashimi & Roll for take out and it was completely worth it. It s packaged beautifully, really makes it feel like a premium experience. The fish is very fresh, loved the variety, especially the tuna nigiri. All the options are of high quality, every piece is amazing. The interior here is also great so can t wait to come back to dine-in. The 10% cash discount is amazing. Great experience overall, highly recommend!

sashimi and nigiri portions were very generous, however the fish was for the most part not fresh. a lot if the nigiri had different toppings added that did not complement the fish well. the maki was tasty but was very thick with rice and you couldnt taste much of the filling

The best roll I ve had Went for lunch and returned for dinner takeout same day after shopping at Vaughan Mills. Lunch: ordered V8 + spicy tuna roll, awesome that the V8 party tray includes scallop which I love + this amazing double salmon roll!!! Dinner: ordered double salmon roll x2 + California roll x2 Will return every time I m in the area :) Note: -it s meant as a takeout place (there are tables and chairs if you want to eat there but it s not a typical setting) -they fabric wrap your order (no plastic or paper bag) -they offer a VIP card for 10% off cash, but I think it s $35 (worth it if you can frequent)

Overall best premium sushi in Vaughan. I ordered take out and the food was fresh, and very tasty. The cloth packaging is very unique and makes it have a premium feel. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Sooo good! Grabbed some on the way home from shopping using Uber Eats and when we got home we re so happy with our sushi! Not only was it a beautiful presentation overall the fish was fresh and delicious! Chirashi don was amazing too. We will be back! Ariagato

Love this place. We ordered a few times and the fish was consistently fresh and flavour was great. We live in the neighborhood and this place is our go to place for sushi. The price is not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. Keep it up!

This place has great tasting sushi! Although we didnt order take out, I noticed their boxes were packaged very nicely and wrapped up what my friend told me, like Japanese bento box lunches. We ordered and dined in with my two children, my mother and friend. The service was beyond expectations as they offered to put two table together after they became available so we can dine comfortably. Although we had a few spills/accidents on our table, they smiled and happily helped clean up, even though I offered to do it myself. The manager, encouraged my children to take pictures with their Christmas decorations and smiled while they did. We were greeted when we ordered our food and when we left. It was nice to receive this kind of service. We will definitely visit again. As for their food, the quality was great, size of the maki rolls were big and the taste was delicious. Prices are fairly reasonable for what was received.
