Station BBQ Smokehouse in Vernon

Not the same as it was with the original owners, since the new owners took over qaulity has plummeted. The server there is an amazing lady!

The best place for BBQ in Vernon great food great staff amazing, definitely a must of your in town.

We waited over an hour to receive our food. It was all brought out at the same time, along with the appetizers. The server came by only to take our orders and deliver them, but did not once fill up drinks or check in. We had to call her over to inquire about dessert options and we just asked for the bill once we received the dessert, which took over 30 minutes to arrive one cheesecake and two crème brûlées. The brisket the rest of the food were pretty good, but the wait times/quality of service were disappointing.

Had the special, pulled pork sandwich with fries and drink. Sandwich was ok, but small. Fries were excellent. Service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. Think Id try something else if theres a next time, but need larger portions.

Erin has been our server both times we have visited. She is so attentive, kind, and fun. She handles the restaurant so well and the food is amazing. Thank you Erin and staff!

We were disappointed in our first experience with the food and price. I initially saw a menu online that said the brisket sammich was $17. I ordered takeout and the price of the sandwich was $20. The second one was with a gluten free bun and it was $23.00. The meat was nothing special. It was not as juicy as we would have expected and not much meat. When I got home I found that they had not included the sides of sauces. $45.15 for two buns with 4 slices of small meat and a bit of coleslaw on a bun is alot of money. I can buy a huge pirtof brisket for that which I will do from now on. Double check the prices and that you have all your items before you leave.

I really wanted to love the food here, was ok. Had the manwich brisket, andooi sausage with grill bread. Brisket appeared to come from a heating drawer , sausage could have been more flavorful for me, grill bread not the best pick. There sauces did help in flavor dept. Dining partner did like the ribs. So ribs it is if we come back.

Fantastic! I havent had smoked brisket like this since I was in Georgia and North Carolina. Loved the smoked wings too...an absolute treat! Parking: I liked the simple old fashion meters! I hate those darn app meters that never work this was nice to see...way to go Vernon! Love it!

Delicious smoked meat. Reasonable price.

We ordered take out for 24 people. The food was amazing and the owner was great to deal with. We ate every last bit of the food. Highly recommend Station BBQ Smokehouse.

Went for dinner here last night for the first time since the new owners took over . The brisket was dry and the bun was stale .crazy expensive for the portion sizes you get too . I would not recommend this place anymore .

Our first visit to Station BBQ since the new ownership occurred. Sorry folks this was a complete disappointment experiencing the diminished quality. Meal 1: Smoked brisket was over smoked, dry and cold when served.The returned meal was also served barely warm. Meal 2; Smoked chicken, dry and barley warm. Also returned and replaced with equally warm chicken that was dry. Meal 3; Gumbo served with no Okra and no andoillie sausage. Meal 4: same disapointing Gumbo and candied bacon that was not crisp and still dripped with grease. Meals no longer include sides as before yet prices do not reflect the change. Service; we were seated without menus which after 10 minutes was dealt with by our guest getting menus for our table. After 15 minutes our drink order was taken and they did not appear for an additional 15 minutes. Dirty tabled remained unserviced until new patrons arrived, at which time they were seated and tables cleared in front of them. The restaurant was not busy, that should have been a warning sign. Station BBQ was the best of 3 smokehouse restaurants to have opened in a short span of each other and for now is the last remaining smokehouse. Im confident we will not return and will warn fellow foodies of our experience. Sorry guys, you should have found a pancake restaurant to buy, youre out of you league.

Came for appies on our way through town to hold us over till dinner. We got the Frickles, smoked wings, ceaser salad. In a world where eating out has become so expensive and the quality is all Sysco it s nice to see some restaurants are still providing quality food and good portion sizes. Service was great. Great BBQ, smells like smoked meat you go in, prices are high but portions are large.

On a recent trip to Vernon, I was craving ribs and came across this place via a quick google search. My partner and I obviously had to try this place and I am glad we did. Its definitely casual dining but we didnt care because we came for the food. The ribs, smoked wings, and brunswick stew were our favourites! And the maple creme brulee which was their only dessert. My partner who is french, even went as far to say it was one of the best he has ever had! Our server was super attentive and shared with us that creme brulee ended up on the menu because its her and her husbands favourite dessert to have on their travels!

We ordered the brisket, ribs, corn muffin, cheddar biscuit and gumbo. The brisket didn t have a lot of fat on them which made them dry. The ribs were decent but prefer it to be more smokey. The biscuit and gumbo were good. Our server was friendly and great!

Visitor to Vernon, heard about the BBQ here, loved the sausage and ribs, so good. Had the dog with us, so we sat on the patio, she even got a big bone.

Most of the food was great as usual, but I do find their chicken a bit dry. Other than that, we always enjoy eating there.

We traveled to this restaurant over the years and it was always great! We brought friends with us who made the trek. We went for lunch yesterday. What a disappointment. I ordered pulled pork. My husband ordered fries to go with his meal. We were in at Noon sharp and the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered their Southern Style Iced Tea. Nope...it wasnt made yet....I had Lemonade. It not good at all. My pulled pork was lukewarm warm and dry, dry, dry as it could be. The cereal biscuit with bacon tasted Ike it came out of a $ Dollar Store box. My pulled pork was suppose to come on top of my pulled pork. There was about 2 tbsp of greens that were tasteless. The French fries if you could call them that tasted like they were fried in overused old cooking oil. We wont ever travel to Vernon and go there again! We would have had better, fresher food if wed gone to Mr. MIKES! ,,

When you pay 34 for a sandwich plate of meat with maybe a couple spoons of coleslaw underneath no other sides. It s pretty sad. The food was flavored, but that s all I can say we ordered french fries. They were old dried out and on the bottom was full of crumbs from the bottom of the bowl, and it must ve been at least a good half a cup full of crumbs absolutely deplorable will not be back. I will stay home and spend my money at home and cook a good meal where I can enjoy going out with a nice treat, but unfortunately it wasn t. Don t waste your time or your money .

The food was absolutely horrendous and completely over priced the service was okay the lady was super nice and respectful but I would never go back and highly suggest you don t go aswell my girlfriend and I went and got two meals and two spiked lemonades and the bill came out too 85$ which is absolutely crazy for the amount and quality of food we got I found a hair in my coleslaw and the coleslaw itself was so warm from sitting under the brisket I can say that this is the worst bbq food I ve ever had and I won t ever be going back and I will be telling everyone it s the worst place in town and not to go they definitely need to revamp there whole menu and how it s priced and made

Food was good. Brisket was a little dry but amazingly smokey, chicken was falling apart was so good, coleslaw dressing was a little too much vinegar. Candied bacon was crunchy, sweet, salty. 100% recommend the candied bacon. New owner was there but he seemed a little out of place. Would be better if staff wore a uniform or some indication they worked there, difficult to determine who worked there. A tshirt with the restaurant name as a basic uniform would be a good choice. The one person busted her butt working, friendly, quick and was helpful with the menu.

Supper sad to hear this place changed owners. Eric and Tania started the place 10 years ago. sold to new Canadians with no clue of southern BBQ. our server yesterday was a rock doing everything, she has been there for 9 of the years..I will be surprised if the place is in business in a year..

Solid meal. Power bowl and the Manwich were great. Next time we are in Vernon, we will be back.

First off the staff is very friendly, secondly dont order the brisket... over done, texture of shoe leather, not sure if they dont know how moist and tender its supposed to be but not good. Definately not worth the almost 40 bucks.

The taste of the food was quite good, but the meats were definitely over cooked and too dry. The sauces were out of this world flavourful and amazing. The restaurant just needs to back off on the cooking times. The hostess was one of the sweetest ever. We really enjoyed our time there.

Weve been going here since they opened. This place is incredible. Having a bad day? Perfect comfort food. Having a good day? Perfect celebration food. The fries are the best in town, the ribs are the best in BC, bacon candy is addictive, cornbread is perfection, sauces are so freaking good, pulled pork is mouthwateringly good, and I could go on and on. Oh and make sure you order a lemonade to drink! On top of having spectacular food, their customer service is unbeatable. They genuinely care about their customers and their customers experience. We have always been treated so well! Additionally: - Private events here are awesome, they give a lot of creative freedom with the setup for whatever youre doing. - Even their takeout is great! They wrap it well so it stays hot and fresh. We love this place. Its the best thing to ever have happened to that old train station. Parking: There is street parking and also a lot across from the shop. Kid-friendliness: They are so great with kids! Theyve got booster chairs, easy access to a sink, and the people who work there treat our kids well.

Walk in, and you are engulfed in the heat aroma of smoked meats and other dishes. You will not be disappointed. If you love smoked meat or beans or cornbread (not smoked, just cornbread), then you should manufacture the opportunity to visit Station BBQ. Their chili is award winning for a reason. Their gumbo is glorious. Their ribs are ridiculous. Their pulled pork is perfect. Their brisket is beautiful. Their baked beans are bodacious. And their candied bacon.... cmon, bacon! I will be returning to Vernon from Vancouver, 439km, just to get more. Kid-friendliness: Had toys to amuse 1 year olds and the staff is very welcoming and helpful.

What an unexpected surprise this was. This was such an incredible meal. We had the Full Stack of Ribs, the beans, the corn bread muffin, the Pulled Pork Sandwich and a few additional sides (we went a little overboard!). We ordered it on a week night as take away, and they couldnt have been more prompt, kind and generous - they even gave us some incredible candied bacon for free as a token of their appreciation. My husband being from the U.S., we couldnt believe that we would find such an incredible Texas style meal in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. This was my husbands birthday meal, and you all made it very special for us. Thank you!

We were SO impressed with this restaurant! Arrived in Vernon late Sunday evening and needed some dinner - Id looked this place up online ahead of time as we all love BBQ. Our waitress was the friendliest most amazing server I have ever had in a restaurant! She was so sweet with our kids and she asked us what we were doing here and what we were going to see and recommended us Kal Beach which we went to the next day and loved. The food was SO delicious, and our kids loved the free root beer refills - being from the UK we dont get Root beer or free refills so that was a bonus I thoroughly recommend eating here if you find yourself in Vernon!

Unfortunately for my first time here the service was a bit off and the takeout I ordered had some pieces missing but after returning the manager dealt with the issue and I feel like my feedback was heard. We would like to try coming back for a dine in experience as the restaurant and menu looked quite nice. One recommendation is to please include cutlery with takeout and not just assume people are taking it home as we werent in this case. Thank you.

Ordered over 100$ of delivery , when it came there were substitutions. Called and had a very indifferent person(Emily) tell us she made the substitutions due to being out of supply at the time , no call to ask what we wanted to substitute , no apology but did offer us coming in next week to get what we paid for. Really?!!!? Most people are disappointed when they don t get what they pay for that is the case here. The food was a 3 , the customer service was a 1 only because a no star isn t an option. Someone in this establishment should maybe teach Emily the customer side of food service, people work hard for their money and with food cost rising the least you do is guarantee value and correctness for your customers. Shame on you - this is the first time and last time you ll get my money.

Ribs were 5 mmmmm s good. Was 3 ribs in before I realized I should take a picture of them. That s how good they are. Gumbo was super flavourful. This place filled my soul and stomach.

Outstanding food and service. Im not a fan of smoked food but my husband loves it. We normally travel southern US where smoked food is what they are known for. This restaurant by far is the best I have ever had. Our #1 is Rudys but I have to say this could be my new favorite smoke house ever. It was so clean, service was great and every single sauce was fresh and delicious. Food was moist and fabulous.. again I dont like smoked food. I cant stop talking about it. The food was perfection. Great flavors, perfectly smoked brisket and pulled pork. Loved all the amazing BBQ sauces to try and everything is made in house. I loved that the owner brought over some more hot sauces. The peanut butter mud pie is a little piece of heaven.

Oh my goodness this place never disappoints, so...SO happy they have reopened. I had the manwitch, and am not normally a fan of andouile sausage but holy hell was it ever good. Their sauces were on point too ! They had the dark and stormy on special, it was perfect too. Service was outstanding and the portions were just right. Highly recommended, totally worth a trip out here, easily the best bbq in BC.

Food was o-k. We had the weekly corn dog special. I just didnt love biting into a corn dog and then trying even harder to bite through sausage skin, kind of made it difficult to enjoy. It definitely lacked flavor and ease. The slaw was alright, but the lemonade wasnt very lemony. Im not sure if we will be returning.

First you walk in and notice how good it smells, then you get fast service, followed by fantastic BBQ. Whats not to love.

Delicious smokehouse meats. We shared the wolf platter with the 3 pork meats and they were really good. The biscuit and the cornmeal muffin were both really good as well. The star of the evening was the superb maple creme brulee for dessert - perfect flavor, perfect creme texture and consistency, excellent brulee, and just all around a delight. Food came fast, nice options for everything, good drink selection, service was good. Will certainly be back.

We came here for lunch. My partner ordered the Manwhich Sammie, i ordered the Brisket Sammich. Neither came with a side. So we ordered a small fries and cup of beans. We ordered the candied bacon to start and only drank 2 draft beer and our lunch total was just shy $100. Food was good but at that lunch price we cant afford to go back. Nevermind you have to pay for parking and its not even the downtown core. And if im paying that kind of price, i expect to be stuffed but we werent cuz that was ordereding the smaller portions of everything.

The meat is fantastic and the house made sauces are excellent.

Best service in town so far. Huge serving of food, the location and ambiance are great. We will be back for sure.

Tried to place an online order. You have to pay upfront and specify your tip amount to place an order. I hate restaurants doing this! The tip should be an indication of the level of service provided. How can I tip before receiving any service? Felt if I said no tip it would affect my order. There should be an option to pay upon pickup. Decided to order from somewhere else.

I had a large . Poutine, the top half had brisket meat the bottom half was all fat. Started out good. Then that last half was disgusting.

We were so impressed with Station BBQ Smokehouse! My husband had the Manwich which he thought was delicious! I had the special which was ribs and brisket and it was amazing! Their sauces are delicious! We had the pecan slice for dessert which was very yummy and not too sweet. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and bright, and the washrooms were very clean! Will definitely be back! We were so busy eating we forgot to take photos!

Great food, good atmosphere, friendly staff. The frickles were amazing, super hot, crispy on the outside and crunchy juicy pickles inside. Pulled pork sandwich was deadly good, their sauces are incredible, and homemade lemonade was definitely grandma approved. If I could give a 6 star review I would.

We were passing through town on a warm Sunday afternoon and these guys were one of the only restaurants open. To our delight the food and staff were INCREDIBLE, our minds were blown with every bite. The host was kindly thorough and very friendly, she explained all the amazing sauces and specials for us. We shared the The Big Bad Wolf platter, candied bacon, and smoked wings. Everything was exceptionally beyond our expectations. Our lives changed that day...we CANT WAIT to come back!! Im never going through Vernon and not stopping at Station BBQ Smokehouse ever again! Great local bbq with a real southern flair . All the meat was on point and the bbq sauces were bomb . Service was excellent. I Was hooked up on Father s Day with some sauce to take home. 4/5 as I feel portion sizes could have been a tad bit bigger for the price paid .

If you like BBQ this is the place to go in Vernon. Located near an old Vernon CPR Station, makes for an attractive spot to have a BBQ restaurant. I did find the signage a bit difficult to spot. Perhaps they can add another banner to the wall to make it more obvious there is a restaurant here. A very welcoming atmosphere with an open Kitchen design, typical smokehouse smell was not overwhelming but let you know you were in a BBQ place. The staff were great and pleasant. the food is equally great, we thoroughly enjoyed the Moutine, I would definitely give this restaurant a try.

We decided to dine in. The staff was polite and there were a lot of selections. If you arent too sure about what to chose just ask your server. The Inhouse brew was so good we decided to take a couple 6 packs with us.

Excellent food. Variety of sauces. And very nice and friendly staff. Even the chef himself came and asked how are food was.We wanted to charge our mobiles while having our lunch and they had no problem with it.

As a rule, I am seldom able to communicate all positives regarding my reviews, but, every rule has its exception. We wanted to order take out and enjoy it at home, just the two of us, to help us quietly but eloquently celebrate our 41rst wedding anniversary. After 41 years we are beyond all the hoopla typically associated with a wedding anniversary, but still enjoy a good meal, good wine, and especially one-another s company. We decided after much trepidation to order food from the Station BBQ Smokehouse, in Vernon. Our trepidation was in large part driven by not so great experiences at BBQ type restaurants in another province. Big prices, small portions, all hype, no meat and no flavour. WELL! Let me tell you! The Station BBQ Smokehouse has rekindled my faith in BBQ! I dined like a King and my beautiful wife dined like the Queen I aspire too treat her as. We ordered: The Brisket, St Louis Ribs, Smoked wings, Beans, Onion Rings and shared a slice of Cheese cake for desert. We received enough food to completely satiate 4 adults. And everything was beyond delicious. I am so so impressed. What a feast! Everything,..and I mean with everything, without reservation or exception was fantastic. If we were to divide the bill up between 4 adults, the amount of food received for the total expenditure was very reasonable. Remember, you re not buying fast food. This is sloooow smoked high quality cuts at its finest. No more trepidation. 5 stars +++.

Great BBQ joint! The wings are smoky and crispy. The chicken is tender and well-seasoned. The pork sausage is so juicy and flavourful! Overall, a great smokehouse BBQ restaurant! Definitely looking forward to our next visit.

WOW. What a great foodie find! Pulled chicken and tender brisket, baked beans and onion rings...washed it down with local soda. Their sauces are delicious my fave is the big chief! The owner and server were both very friendly and accommodating when asked to play blues music. All in all, a great place to stop and eat. Would recommend and will return!

Great service ribs and slaw were amazing .. kids enjoyed the onion rings .. poutine not so Much .. super friendly staff HUGE portions well worth the money

Fantastic smokehouse with amazing bbq food and super friendly staff. The house made sauces are so so good and the pulled pork and brisket we had was some of the best I ve ever had! They were a little bit behind the night we were there but it was obliviously a bit of a short staffing issue that everyone is having after COVID and the staff were so apologetic and friendly and the food was definitely worth the wait. Great place and I ll for sure be back next time I m in Vernon.

Station BBQ is a lovely family run business. Its a small gem in down town Vernon with an authentic vibe. The food did take alittle long due to staff shortages which all business are dealing with. Id definitely take the family down and give this place a shot. Keep small town business alive. (Thanks for the on the house bacon it was to die for)

I was so impressed with the menu. Im from Houston so I was very surprised coming to Canada to find proper BBQ. The server told me which parts of the menu were gluten free and she was really nice about it! Can t wait to go back. I recommend for a good family night out

Pretty good BBQ . The smoked beans were my favorite thing. They were deliciously full of flavor and not bitter at all. I had the brisket and onion rings. The brisket was tender and juicy but not very warm. The BBQ sauces were very good.

Excellent food, decent atmosphere, a little expensive. Ribs, pulled pork, sausage, and homemade lemonade we great. Four house sauces are all really good. Will definitely be back, even though its kinda expensive for what you get. Parking: Lots of street parking around. Free on weekends.

One of the best experiences in dining from the service all the way to the bill! I cannot rave this place enough! Wow! I took my dad here for his birthday. From the moment we walked through the door the lady who greeted us was super friendly smiling and welcoming. There were 3 of us so we decided we would sample the menu - and I mean almost the entire menu! Before coming I had seen they had an appy platter on their menu but when we ordered it she said it hadnt been on the menu for a couple years - however she would make sure we got it anyways as she remembered exactly what it was and she would even make sure we got 3 pieces of candied bacon (cause it only used to come with 2 but there were three of us) I was tickled pink as it was one thing I had been excited to try! Oh was it ever delicious! The frickles and the bacon were mouth watering and the smoked wings were tasty! For dinner we ordered the barnyard which was a fabulous sampler of their sausage, brisket and pulled chicken and then we also ordered a half rack of the ribs and the pulled pork yorkies that were on special, for us all to share. The sausage was amazing! (Haha I had to start with that one) usually i find sausage- even smoked sausage- is pretty bland and just tastes like a sausage, but not this one great seasoning and a sticky smoke that flavoured it in a gracefully semi-sweet fashion. The ribs were next, perfectly smoked and still moist and fall off the bone full of juicy flavour (Im a very picky pork rib eater and these are some of the best Ive ever had). Then was the brisket, just one more mouth watering succulent experience! Im personally not a fan, in general, of smoked chicken but it was tastey and my cousin said it was excellent as well! The pulled pork yorkie was great the pulled pork was juicy and full of flavour and the gravy and yorkshire pudding were tasty! We also ordered a corn muffin to share, (because what is smoked BBQ without corn bread?!?!) which - like everything else up to this point - was excellent! It was fluffy, moist just sweet enough and not too crumbly! (My dad particularly commented on it as really good corn bread) In good smokehouse fashion all the smoked meats were served without sauce (other than the pulled pork with gravy) and a basket of in-house recipe sauces were awaiting you at the table with a written description of each sauce (to ensure you know what youre getting into ) I of course had to try them all! - but wait there were more! As we sat down the owner stopped by our table to say hello and tell us that he had a couple of secret sauces we could try should we be of a spicier appetite so of course I had to try those too haha. The owner was very friendly and very obviously proud of his food (as he well deserves to be). After we had dinner they offered my dad a choice of birthday desert on the house which was very nice, my dad got the Mississippi mud pie and I ordered a slice of their pecan pie. Both were amazing and we all had a little taste! My cousin loves chocolate but not sweets and she was extremely satisfied with the mud pie. My dad and I were both very partial to the pecan pie (which in my opinion is actually the best pecan pie I have ever had and I do not say this lightly lol) but the mud pie was very splendid as well! At the end of it all we were all full and satisfied and agree that this is a place we will be returning many more times. The price was more than fair for the quality of the food, the fantastic service and the entire experience! P.S. dont forget to try the lemonade (its not too sweet or too sour, its just right)

Had our first visit to The Smokehouse today for lunch. It will not be our last. Great variety on the menu, very friendly staff - not pushy!! Then we had the food - over the top great!! There were four of us, all odered something different and all were very pleased. Price was resonable considering the high quality and taste of the food. Try it out, you will be more than pleased.

Ordered(takeout) a couple bowls of the chili and it was mind blowing! Came with cornbread muffins and a garnish of candied bacon. The hot/spicy to sweet ratio was bang on. Next time Im not sharing any of it.
