Food and service was a wonderful experience

$20 combo with 4 chicken balls. So little sauce we actually had to order some to eat them. Lots of unappetizing noodles and rice th There was ham as the protein in my rice. Food : 1/5

Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and great food. My grandmother loves coming here for Canadain Chines food and so do I. Its close to the casino and a few times a week they do a buffet. Reserved a large table for a group for a birthday... They put the cake I brought in the cooler till ready to serve for dessert... They knew it was a birthday... Waiter needs to realize that I travel for my career and I have my meals in restaurants... I wont be back to this place... Towards the end of the night the service stopped .. the basket of bills was just put on the table and we had to sort through and the amount of gratitudity added was different on each bill... I was about to leave a large tip as I in the past have had good service here, hence the group for the birthday here... But the business choosing what the tip should be and what I was about to pay... The business lost $14.00 I was about to put $50.00 down but since my tip was the largest amount ($10.00) and my friends who had the same order minus a drink was charged half for the gratuity... Seems like they pick and choose how much to charge.... Just lost a customer and the rest of the group was not impressed... Such a different situation with a larger group than it was last month with a group of 4... Sorry to say ... But you have lost a customer for both eat in and take out...

Big place food bland price high.

Went there Feb 24th, 2023 for family dinner, did the buffet. Place was very clean, Staff was attentive to customer needs and worked hard. Food was excellent, plentiful, and hot. Will definitely go back.

Ordered beef and black beans sause to go and they didnt even fill the container half way, way over priced for what u get

We have now tried this restaurant twice - once for takeout and once for in-house dining. It was not good either time, and we paid a small fortune for it. It honestly just seemed like they heated up some frozen dishes - not one thing seemed like it was made from scratch at the restaurant. I am not a picky eater at all and we both believe that you have to try a restaurant more than once in case the first bad experience is just an off night. Well clearly that is not the case here. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We will not ever be returning.

Great restaurant, food was great too.Servers were so awesome, after we ordered food my stomach started to feel woozy and asked to change order to wonton soup instead. even after my food was probably cooked she said no problem no hassle, then was so nice to bring me a complimentary ginger ale for my tummy! This is our favorite Chinese food in town. The sweet and sour and wonton soup is awesome! Everything is fresh and the food isnt greasy. I love the chop suey and the beef and broc, the veg is always crisp and fresh. The service is excellent! The pricing is the best weve found. Highly recommend.

I had nice hopes to try this place finally! I stopped in some weeks ago as a reminder to myself and grabbed a take out menu to head back when I was next in Vernon. Well on May 1st I tried and was not too impressed. It all went through me quick so maybe they are using and not disclosing/or using too much MSG above the standards? Not sure but it was a quick trip to the washroom at my hotel right after eating a take out order. Sorry on too much info but true! Pricey too, quite a bit over other places! No napkins! No fork(s) No chopsticks No fortune cookie Nothing in bag, not even any sauce! No thanks either, just an in and out quick scene and was way fast getting the order!!! Will NOT be venturing back sorry to report! I am not evil to give this place a 1 star though! It should really be though to report to anyone reading this review. ):

While visiting Vernon we tried this place. The service and waitress (Katelyn) was awesome. The food portions sizes and Shirley Temple where fantastic. The little robot waiter was an awesome touch for my 7 year old. Thanks for the experience.

The prawns & chicken were so tough & dry it was tough to eat. No sauces for any of the items. It s been several yrs since we ate from here & guaranteed we will never be back. Not good at all . Will be going back to Asian Ave. Best food ever.

The restaurant has ROBOT waiters And with that our decision on where to go for dinner was decided. The robot waiter was a nice distraction but the star of the show was the food. We ordered: Large wonton soup - tasty with a generous amount of wontons. Almond Chicken - Lightly fried with crispy coating and skin, not overly greasy. Beef and broccoli - Perfectly cooked. Most places over cook the vegetables but this was done right with tasty chunks of beef. Pork Chow Mein - Could have used some vegetables with the noodles and barbeque Pork, but was otherwise tasty. I have had Chinese food in many restaurants in many small towns and the Royal would not be out of place in either Vancouver or Toronto, places I have lived and dined in many times. Dinner for 3 ran us about $100 including tip and three beers which is on the higher side but the quality made it worthwhile. We will definitely drop in again the next time were in Vernon. Compliments to the chef.

Had a great dinner out with pur family. Ordered several different dishes and all were very good. Decent portion sizes and quick service. The kids loved the delivery robot! Vegetarian options: Fresh and full of flavor, not greasy or heavy.

We had the buffet. Im so happy it was buffet again. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty. The cold foods were perfect. The sushi was amazing. The won ton soup (which I was craving) was awesome as usual. The staff were polite, attentive, and helpful. We always enjoy our meal there.

Very very sub par!!! The sweet and sour pork tasted at least 6 days old.. .the chop suey contained mostly celery and the mushrooms were water filled little spunges!!! Definitly will always be ordering elsewhere from now on!!

Bought two build 4 piece combos, mine was ginger beef, sweet sour pork, sweet sour chicken balls and dry garlic pork. As always sweet and sour is pretty generic and wasnt too bad, the chicken was dry, but the sauce made it ok. The dry garlic pork was not garlicy at all which made me sad as Im a garlic addict lmao, and the ginger beef had no ginger taste to it at all, but huge pieces which I appreciated. My wife had the same except instead of dry garlic pork she did pork fried rice, which contained chopped up Pieces of literal ham pieces not strips of pork, and that disappointed her alot. Everything else she wasnt very pleased with either, but I enjoyed a little of it hence 2 stars.

Very good, usually not that long of a wait for take out. I havent eaten in for a couple years, but when I did back then they were just as amazing. Hopefully buffet can come back soon, totally understand why its not a thing right now tho. Their personal combos are a really good deal, you get a lot of food.

My bf and I love this place. Everything is delicious and fresh. I think they put crack in their pork fried rice because I keep coming back for more.

First time we tryed eating off the menu scince the buffet was still closed. The dishes were hot, fresh and perfectly prepared.

Royal Garden is always such a friendly atmosphere. They have gluten free options which is a huge plus when you have an allergy like myself (even gluten free fortune cookies). Their new addition for their server was super fun and brought smiles to everyones faces. Dietary restrictions: Super accommodating when you have allergies.

Love their food, great service, and they now offer Bubble tea!

Worst expert ever!! Waitress basically threw our food dishes onto the table as she walked by. Didn t talk to us. Didn t use the robot even though they use her for kids. Tried talking to the manager and she didn t try to make it better at all!

Compared to other local restaurants. I was very disappointed. The quality was terrible. The flavor was honestly just sad. I wouldnt recommend. Try anywhere else in town.

Great food

While we were house hunting in the area we walked over from the hotel to the Royal Garden to give it a try. Loved the food and the service. We ended up moving to Kelowna but still drive up to Vernon for Chinese Food at this restaurant. Edit: we finally found a house in Kelowna and now drive to Vernon just for a fix of Chinese food every few weeks.

Im a chinese fried rice foodie and this is the best in BC (Ive eaten in dozens). Perfection. I would never go anywhere in Vernon after discovering the quality here. True, greasy western style Chinese food.

Such good fresh food!! Did take out. Lemon chicken sauce was lemony WOW! Chicken chop suey was excellent,had real chicken slices, (not that jellied weird stuff that is in suey sometimes ). Bonus: No sodium overload swelling the next day.

We came here later friday night as we were in town for a hockey tournament, we were staying Food was delicious and fresh. We ordered off the menu even though the buffet was on and they had no problem accommodating this. I would highly recommend this restaurant for its good food, good service.

Ordered takeout from here, the fried rice is not fried, it just sticky boiled rice. Very disappointed in all the other dishes ordered, chow main spareribs and prawns.

Ordered cashew Gai ding, ginger beef and steamed rice. The portions were a good size. The Gai ding had lots of veggies not lots of chicken and was fresh. The sauce was rather bland so it didnt really bring out the full flavour. The ginger beef had a really good coating and sauce but the meat itself was tough and stringy - difficult to eat without lots of chewing. We did not finish it because of the meat. Almost $40 for the three dishes a bit pricey for a meal that was not very tasty. My background: I have eaten Chinese all over the world including Taiwan, Vancouver and San Francisco so maybe Im a bit fussy.

I m a little conflicted about this place. On one hand I really appreciate how they are prepared for COVID, good quantity of food and reasonable quality. But on the other hand they almost certainly lied to my face on the type of meat they r using. Let me explain. As soon we walked in the door, we were impressed how this place takes COVID precaution seriously. Waiters wears masks, tables were distanced at least two meters apart, and even their buffet are waiter served with a order sheet that u can use! This is the first place we been to that takes it seriously! As we got to order our food, we appreciate helpful waiters and clear explanations on the menu. However, when the food came we were little confused. The Singapore fried noodle was fine, as it is steamy and a little light on taste but the portion was good and toppings were generous. Then, when the beef with snow pea came we were a little lost, because the meat on the plate is certainly pork, as it is pale and white, not beef as it taste light and with no beef taste whatsoever! I asked the waitress, she assured me it s beef. I asked a more senior staff, they said it might come from a different part of beef that s why it s so pale?!?!? I mean unless they r serving me tripe, which it definitely is not, I have not seen beef so pale before! We come from Alberta and we r very familiar with beef and this certainly is not beef! But after hours of driving we were not picky and it taste okay so we thought there were no point in arguing so we just eat it. They were courteous to offer us to change it to chicken if need be, but we thought why waste the food, but if it s pork with snow pea we will be fine with that but please don t call pork beef, it s not right ^^

Its a different way of having all you can eat buffet .. but it works!..You get a printed menu with that days choices and you make your selections on here. Place your first round order & you will get a second menu to place for your next round. Desert? Another menu completion will get you your favorites. The food was hot and tasty. Our only complaint is that the plate gets a generous helping of rice or noodles and makes it difficult to get to seconds without incurring the extra charge for food wasted. Next time I will request a smaller portion of those or skip them entirely. Attentive and pleasant staff made this a great buffet dinner.
