4801 27 St, Vernon, BC V1T 4Z1, Canada
Modern hotel featuring low-key rooms with free Wi-Fi, plus a pool, casual dining & a lively pub.
DONT STAY HERE!!! Unsafe!! Long term guests live here that are addicts. Passed out guests in the lobby from drugs. I was approached by a man outside the lobby doors who asked if I wanted to buy drugs. Dont stay here!!! Rooms are NOT as pictured. Dark rooms with damage and stains. Very crappy poor hotel
The staff here are absolutely amazing!! They are kind and very considerate of your needs. Weather a long stay or a short stay this hotel is awesome!! I love the staff here. They treat you like family here. I appreciate how they all look after me here. Just great people here!!!
I rate this hotel the highest value for money in Canada. We have been to around 130 countries in 6 continents, and they rank really high on our long list. The young lady at the front desk was fabulous. She was very professional and helpful. Everything was great. They deserve a much better rating, as we almost missed out on them based on the online reviews.
My family of 7 spent the weekend at the hotel. They were extremely accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Even though the hotel is older our room was clean, organized and functional with no broken or unworking equipment. The pool and sauna were clean and enjoyed by our children but sadly the hot tub was under matnance. |The price was phenomenal. |Would stay here again and recommend to others NON KAREN'S looking for a hotel. Bring your own pillow for comfort if you don't enjoy firmness.
Do not stay! Our key card opened multiple rooms, our neighbour's key card opened other multiple rooms. It is not safe. I reported it to night staff, day staff, left a Facebook review and have sent an email asking if they fixed the problem. No response. I seen an early review on Facebook about the same issues 3 months earlier so they already knew about the issues and just don't care! I felt unsafe leaving my stuff in the room. Our room wasn't dirty but not totally clean. There was stickers and water bottles left from the previous occupants.
We had a few noise issues in our room with our neighbors but front desk staff kindly relocated us to a quieter area. They were wonderful to deal with. The hotel itself is a bit noisy, mechanical noise and street noise but nothing extreme. Doors (patio and inner) could use a better seal but it looks like they are updating this as well. Rooms are a bit dated but it looks like they are renovating and painting. Everything was very surface clean in both rooms. Bed sheets and blankets were fresh. Walking distance to the local mall and tons of restaurants. The ceiling of the hallways is very interesting! For the price it is an excellent stay especially with staff being extra accommodating with requests.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We had a king room on the 6th floor, so there there was a lot of space, and the view was pretty nice. The only thing I didn't like very much was the sink outside the bathroom, but it was separated from the bedroom by a wall, so it wasn't a big deal. Overall we had a great stay!
The Staff are the jewel of this hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Rooms are a little outdated, its true, but everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the water pressure was good. Location is great for shopping and getting around. Building is well soundproofed though, and even though our room was in the front, we never heard traffic at all. Indoor pool was warm and relaxing, and there's a sauna too. Can't recommend the stay here enough! Lots of parking, reasonable prices, close to everything, a restaurant in the lobby (which was pretty good). Will definitely stay here again when coming to the Okanagan.!
My wife and I, have been regular visitors to this motel we would come there about 30 days visits in a year. What you can expect is fair price. But you get what you pay for. Thing have changed ...customers service... no restaurants, no breakfast, not even powdered cream for your coffee. This last visit was Dec. 19&20 2024. We booked our room, and put our bags in the room. We went out for the evening. Came back around 1:00 a.m. and went to bed. Well what turned out to be one of the worst night sleep we both had. I ended up trying to sleep on the sofa. At 8:00 a.m. I called front desk, told them the mattress is old and no support. So they sent house keeping to check. And sure enough house keeping said she could see the hole or lack of spring support. She told the manager. The manager apologized, said this should not have ever happend. Told me he would make sure we would be happy, and enjoy the rest of our stay. We ended up being moved to another room #528 which was fine. The next day when we checked out I was surprised that we were getting billed for the first room with the bad bed. I mentioned this to staff and the manager wa no longer available be reached. No note on the file why we had to be moved to another room. So we ask to have this adjustment made. Staff said sorry they cannot. The room is 527 the fan make a terrible noise when it come on. The mattress still has not been changed. Same old mattress with no support. If the own want to reach out to me I would accept the conversation. They have my phone number and email. But my wife and I now have decided they will no longer get our business. My wife and I both met the owner/partner earlier that year he seemed to be trying to build up this motel. But the manager is on a different page than the owner.
Clean but air conditioning stuck on no heat 7 below outside
Rooms: The beds are really comfy house cleaning on it Nearby activities: Village Green Mall Walkability: Close to downtown and all amenities Food and drinks: Wendy s right nearby Burger King as well and you got all across the street food court
Was a better place when it was Village Green Hotel.
My fiance and I have spent a lot of time there it was wonderful
My fiancé and I stayed here and for the price it was great! The rooms are a bit dated but clean, beds comfortable. My fiancé kept saying how nice the beds were felt like a high end hotel with ironed sheets don t see that in these types of rooms much. The only down side was towels they seem old and worn out not fluffy and soft and dull in colour but were clean. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Location was great right across from the mall made it nice to leave the car and walk over to shop. Places to eat close by and the mall has places to eat as well. Small gym for guests to use. It was quieter for road noise than other places in Vernon. We have stayed at the BW plus in Vernon however this will now be our place to stay! Thank you and we will see you soon! Ps would have given 5 stars but towels do need to be replaced.
Fantastic place, Just make sure you dont have these wefare bums bc housing program i think they have a floor of it now. Me and my female friend been there every year 3 to 7 months since 2020. Many months by the day and by months. Work bring us here from the mainland. Great staff sadly it changed often. Some great staff memories here Ron and his family-2022 Amber,Shivam,Lori,Indian lady manager 2023,Alex 2023 and the Indian Princess Simran-My..God. 2022 Nov. To now hopefully. Room 207 always when available. Sadly they do not reply emails and doing logging deep in the mountain with bad cell reception for phone calls we had to book and go to Econo Lodge this year. Their monthly rate are what Riviera was in 2022 and prior years. 2 great hotels. Steve and Tian.
This may have been a nice place at some point... but that has passed. The bed in my room was collapsed on one side... there was an unfinished repair on the ceiling in the washroom. Rubbish in the hallways and vandalism in the elevator. Posters in the hallways and in the elevators stating about how vulgar language and behavior is unacceptable. They rent rooms by the month and it seems that attract a certain undesirable clientele. The pool had cloudy water and things floating at the bottom.... the changerooms and floor of the area were so dirty that there was no way i would walk across it in bare feet. They have an exercise room but it has glass walls and is in the main lobby, not 15 feet from the front desk. Housekeeping doesnt make your bed and is inconsistent with replacing things like coffee.... But if youre just looking for a cheap place to crash... its the cheapest... but you get what you pay for
Noteworthy details: Pet friendly Rooms
Garbage hotel, extremely filthy & dirty. Stinking rooms. Carpets are just awful dirty. Pathetic place. Avoid it. Balconies aren t safe, seems like it will break any moment. Disgusting overall. I m glad I didn t have to stay there for more than one night. I rushed out asap in the morning.
Never again! Been travelling for how many times but this is the worst hotel experience ever. Unprofessional and not accommodating front desk, NO AC just vents 30c in our room, FLIES everywhere like theres a bunch of fly in our room and its annoying, the hot shower isnt working properly. Lastly, ONE OF THE STAFFS STOLE AN EXPENSIVE COLOGNE. So sketchy here.
Affordable but filthy. Do yourself a favor and dont look at the water dispenser in the hallway.
Dirty hallways, disgusting rooms, surrounded by homeless. Staff at front counter were great, too bad they have to deal with the crumbling facility.
Great stay. Room had everything we needed - fridge, microwave. Will repeat.
I love this place!!! Not only are the staff kind and thoughtful, the rooms are clean and a perfect price that cannot be beat! Ill definitely be back.
First I will say the staff was so wonderful in accommodating us in getting us a room with our dog , your rooms were clean the beds were comfy and if my furbaby could give you a 5 star review he would for having such a huge space for him to roam around and have the bottom of the beds blocked off so he didnt loose any toys we will be back when traveling again THANK-YOU

There was an unforeseen road closure due to vehicle incident. And we could not reach the hotel. We called the hotel and booking.com and both tried to negotiate of the reservation could be moved to a different date . The host was absolutely hostile and refused to budge with any discussion. This circumstance was not in our control and some leeway would have been appreciated. I regret booking at this hotel.
Booked 3 rooms, 1 had to switch rooms middle of night as the hvac was howling/loud every 10 mins and couldn t sleep(happened in another room too but we could stand it). Another room the shower curtain holder was sagging/coming out and curtains would droop making it impossible to shower without spraying water everywhere. Carpets felt gross so have to wear socks or keep shoes on. You get what you pay for and rates were good. Overall good enough if not picky. Front desk is friendly though.
I stayed here for one night with my family and was disappointed with the state of the room. We found bleach stuck to the rim of the shower drain, blood stains on the duvet, stains on the sheets and the curtain fell off the railing. We asked reception staff to get these issues fixed and they responded that no one would be able to do it until tomorrow morning, but offered to change our room instead. Rooms: Basic room - uncleanliness, old furniture, thin walls so able to hear others in their rooms. Food and drinks: Good location - close to supermarkets, food chains and petrol stations
Dont trust your booking at this hotel. We booked a kitchenette and received a double queen. They claimed it was an error, but we had an email confirmation. Divya Sutra and the booking agent traded blame back and forth and it took us hours just to get someone to admit there was a mistake. The mistake was never resolved to our satisfaction, they had already received payment and were unwilling to release it so we could book another hotel. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. Too much holiday time spent waiting for an answer. Crazy!!
Nice hotel with good price www.DinhCuCanada.Info
Scammed me when I booked a king size room only to find out it was double booked. They put me in a terrible suite for the same price, it was windowless and the worker said it wasnt on theur website due ti a strong odour persisting
Free breakfast was supposed to be included, but the hotel refused to provide us with breakfast even after I showed them my invoice which clearly stated free breakfast. This hotel was sold to us as a 4-star hotel, this was a run-down and low-quality establishment. For instance, our front door was broken, the fan in the bathroom was on all night (could not be turned off) and it was very loud. The building in general was dated and looked dirty. Ridiculously, the bathroom door would hit the toilet and would not fully open! Overall, this hotel should not be rated more than one star. Don t believe any positive reviews about this hotel, they all must be fake.
Stayed for a nite so no major experiance.Bathrooms needs lock from inside.
Good place to live in Vernon, BC. Michael Dao UCA Canada Immigration has been here www.DinhCuCanada.Info
This is such an excellent hotel!!! Staff are very kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend staying here if you can. Clean rooms and nice amenities (pool, sauna, gym, ect.)
The pets bark all night long you dont get to sleep until about 2 am the staff are great
No free breakfast
Nice place, great location, i see alot of bad reviews but it was great for me,
Dont go here. The rooms are terrible. The doors dont shut. You have to pull on them so it makes a loud bang. The pool was so cloudy and dirty that I didnt get in. The hot tub was broken and has been for months.Terrible housekeeping. The only thing good was the front desk staff. They we helpful and always had a smile. Rooms: The room smelt musty and dirty, and the carpets had cigarette burns. I think they have been there since the place opened Food and drinks: They have a restaurant there but it was closed. They kept a truck and trailer parked at the main door, so they made access not great. Noteworthy details: The only good thing about this place is the front desk staff. They are amazing. Housekeeping was terrible. One day, we left the sign out for the room to be cleaned it did not get done. Second day again we asked for service, the bed got made but they didnt vacuum the carpet where a bag of chips fell over
3 night stay. The staff were very nice. Room cleanliness could of possibly been better . I found several hairs stuck to the wall and some snot on the bathroom door. I ignored all that till I saw blood on my duvet. They kindly gave me a fresh one . It was nice to have my senior dog with me but then they stuck some people next to me that had no concept of personal space when it came to letting their dogs out. I would sugest seperating the individual unit with a fence so we dont have to fear someone elses dog attcking me or our dog. Other than that I liked it . Mostly quiet. I would of stayed one e tra day but the neighbors dog tried to attack my dog at 7am. Ruined it for me. ..... Nearby activities: They have a pool and a small gym Food and drinks: Everything is super close if you go out yourself or lost of places deliver. They also have a restaurant attached to the hotel. Very nice and chic.
Good
The price was really the only good thing stayed in a room with 3 queen beds oddly with different headboards. Very few lights and the railing on the deck was broken a danger to young kids. The TV for some reason does not have an off button or I couldnt find it as the remote does not shut if off. Bathtub drain plug missing had to ask for another as well as the hair dryer did not work. I would only stay again if I really need somewhere cheap to stay. Nearby activities: Next to a mall with some resturants Safety: Unsafe broken railing on 7th floor Walkability: Next to a mall
Room was clean, though different from the pictures/expected. Overall alright, but cleanliness in common areas other than the foyer should be addressed (Walls, carpets, all unkempt). Highlighted by the pool which was absolutely filthy, I turned around and went back to my room. Nearby activities: Lots to do here in Vernon, and this place is fairly central. Walkability: Mall across the road and spanning a ways, everything you could need in 5-10 walking.
The rooms are not clean the bathroom is horrible the staff are nice but stained towels stained shower curtain and a rusted tub gross the roof is stained just nasty just showing you the truth Walkability: Close to another of stuff
Thank goodness for air conditioning!! Its too bad the hot tub had flies in it as well as the pool. That was unappealing. Rooms: Clean and comfortable. Noteworthy details: They should not advertise a hot tub as it is unusable.
Its was very bad experience in this hotel ,I Check in late night its around 11:pm.we enter the room ,its was smoke smell too much I tell front desk 3 time .I am suffering all night that bad smell even loundry also smoking smell. Future we not stay in this hotel, today I booked new hotel.
Excellent hotel. King room was large and clean on the 6th floor. It had a small microwave (bring your own dishes) and a medium fridge. The fridge is very cold. Put it on 1! Our yoghurt was frozen. There is a small freezer compartment in the fridge. The hotel has a swimming pool. It is about 10 min. from Kal lake. Save On and BC liquor is 3 min. walk and Superstore 10 min walk. There are restaurants in the area within walking distance.
Dont go! I stayed a couple of weeks ago there for a night, there was a horrible pee smell from the room and the disgusting carpet all spilled. This is the worst place I have been in. They said they were fully booked and couldnt change rooms. I regretted staying in that place.
Very good, impeccable room, nice welcome from the evening attendant Alex. Rooms: Very good, clean and comfortable
Very happy with my service with check in. Alex was very polite and even upgraded my room. Very kind man. The location is great and has a pool. Im very much impressed with the quality of the hotel. Very very affordable as well. Thank you so much.
AC was not working so I couldn t sleep properly. I also booked a kitchenette room but never got that room. Wasn t a good hotel and would not recommend.
Great place
I understand that the Divya Sutra is advertised as a very budget friendly place to stay in Vernon however the absolute lack of STANDARDS and customer service will ensure I never return. The carpeted hotel hallways were disgustingly stained and had a terrible and pungent smell to them as my girlfriend and I went to our room each time. Not to mention the hallway was full of used bedsheets from cleaners just stripping the beds and throwing the sheets directly on the aforementioned terribly stained and smelly carpeted hallway floor. Maybe that s where the stains on both of the bedsheets in our room came from. Unfortunately, not only were our sheets stained but so was the entire shower area. After letting our dog outside into the yard we noticed that the safety lock on the sliding glass door was completely broken and provided no sense of security for our stay. When my girlfriend called the front desk to alert them of how we felt as though the room didn t meet hygienic or safety standards that every hotel we ve stayed at previously has easily met we were met with a yup okay from the front desk. My girlfriend asked the front desk if they had a manager that she could speak to they said no, but he would be there in the morning. When we checked out in the morning, there was still NO manager. The lady at the front desk tried calling the manager multiple times but there was still NO answer. What type of establishment doesn t have a manager on site and/or one that can answer the phone. So all they could give us was $25 back and they even had another staff double check our room to see if what we were saying was true, which we found rude. When the staff member returned he said that the room was up to their standard Dirty stained sheets?Stained shower (which he said was normal), broken lock? So gross! If we didn t check in so late and there was more availability around we definitely would ve packed everything up and stayed elsewhere.
You get what you pay for! Terrible place to stay. Broken AC. When reported to manager, I was told, They will look into it. But no one came. TV wasnt working and no one came to fix. Cleanliness was less than par. Blood on the duvet. The bed was like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. The hall way was atrocious with garbage that was there upon arrival and still there on check out. Ive worked in the hotel industry for 15 years and would love to know how this was rated 3 star.
Had to wait at the front desk for 20 minutes before someone came to help. Rooms were noisy. AC was noisy. Looked really old and dated. Doors didn t close properly. Limited parking, had to park in the Wendy s parking lot. Water is not free in your room fridge ($2.50/btl)
The rooms are clean i do like the place but there is a small gym and i little food
Dont expect much for the price. Rooms are not well cleaned. Beds are comfy. Very noisy but thats not the hotels fault. Walkability: Easy walking distance to pubs and restaurants and groceries
We spent our Canada Day vacation in July 2024 at Divya Sutra Plaza in Vernon and had an exceptional experience. The hotel provided top-notch facilities, and everything went smoothly thanks to the excellent management. Exploring Vernon and Kelowna added to the joy of our trip, and we couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommended!
Would only stay in this hotel if it was the last one available. Rooms: Toilet paper was transparent as in you can see your hand through the paper.....very cheap kind. Actually the first time I saw this kind of toilet paper...might as well use your hand to clean your behind.
Stay for 5 nights , no fresh towels or cleanimg room. Bad service. Even you pay for $799 for this nights . Rooms : 1/5
Rooms: We stayed in family room with three beds Theresas 3 of us. Very comfy beds. Very clean place Rooms
We paid for the first night $140 and for the second 299 we ask why is there such a big price increase and the answer was just cocky and arrogant because we are fully booked . The rooms are so dated, the safety lock on our sliding door wasn t working, it was very loud in the middle of the night, the hot tub is just disgusting, the fridge smells very bad and is t properly functioning. calling the front desk and not getting an answer and if we mentioned the issues at the front desk nothing happened. the only good thing is (maybe) the location. IT IS SO OVERPRICED!!!!!
The air conditioner is so loud you can barely sleep.
We were sent an email stating it was $196.26 for two rooms. Upon checking in we were informed the price was now $145 +taxes and they were not interested in viewing the email and confirmation. There was long hair on the ceiling of the shower (and all of us guys have very short hair) stains in the tub, sticky floors and painted countertops. The pool was cloudy with dead skin and there were earplugs floating in the hot tub. Will not ever stay there again, I ll sleep in the car first. Rooms: Sticky floors. Hairs in the bathroom that weren t ours.
Worst experience ever. We booked two rooms, one of which had bugs and full of cannabis smell. Receptionist was so rude, at 11:00pm , he was asking us to find another room in another hotel because he cant arrange another room for us. His name was Olychester, provided worst customer service. Another room was okay but no facilities as mentioned on website. They dont even have enough parking space. I would never recommend to go there.
I had a terrible experience and would never suggest this motel to anybody. We reserved two rooms. The receptionist guy , Olychesyer (whose name may not be correct, but it starts at 0), initially stated that we had only one room reserved, but after a while he realized that we had actually reserved two rooms. There is a cannabibal scent when we enter the room , and there was bugs . We asked the receptionist to switch rooms, but he responded that none were available at the time. He stated to reimburse our money for one room and it was almost midnight, therefore it was too late to find any rooms in other hotels. All of the other hotels were full when we checked. The moment we asked him to get anything for us. He said that we arrived too late to check in and that every room was scheduled( they are open 24 hours and check in time till 3:00AM).We must arrive early. When we asked to speak with management, he said that no one was available and proceeded to argue and treat us disrespectfully. After a while, someone from management team the Indian member stopped by to speak with us. He examined the room and concurred with us that it is quite difficult to stay there. He finally arranged another room for us where we spent the night. The morning staff was kind and pleasant. However, if you travel all day and arrive at the hotel to check in you expect be welcomed and treat well. I will never come back .
One of the worst hotels you could ever stay in. Their was blood on the sheets the carpet was nasty I wouldn t recommend staying af this plac Rooms: Awful
Terrible. DO NOT STAY here. It is a low price because people know never to go back and NOT to stay there. I had a horrible experience and the worst sleep in a dirty smokey room with semi truck and street bike and road noise right along the hotel all night long staying at this hotel. The staff is rude and unprofessional and the hotel adds significant charges without guests knowledge nor consent. Pool was empty and hotel looked dilapidated. They even tried to change their name again. AVOID this place at all costs. Pay a little more somewhere else to avoid a negative experience and bad memory.
Remembering that one gets what they pay for, this is a pretty good bang for your buck. The room we had was in the lower tier, and it wouldn t be too expensive have we chose to do so. We did not see the point as this was a business trip, where the main use for the room was actual sleep and some brief RnR. There is a pool and sauna, visible right from our room as it turned out. The bed was comfortable, and the room manage to remain habitable-dare i say comfortable-despite the mind altering heat wave we are currently experiencing. There is also a few exercise machines for those hard core fitness buffs, which I do not claim to be. Although one can occasionally hear other guests or the occasional vacuum during the day, we were not disturbed and were able to nap like champions in preparation for the dreaded night shifts. The hotel has a conveniently housed restaurant and watering hole if one plans to hermit (we unfortunately had to go out so we ate elsewhere on the way). Alex at reception was most helpful and will surely take care of all of your needs. All in all, would definitely recommend as a neatly decorated, affordable and conveniently placed location with excellent service and available extras available for purchase as needed. Walkability: Near amenities and most importantly, several liquor stores. Food and drinks: Restaurant and pub attached to hotel, other establishments within walking distance.
Amazing service!
DO NOT STAY HERE. They advertise rooms that have AC - it s a vent in the wall blowing warm air. When I asked to be switched to another room, the front desk person was rude, not helpful and told me the entire hotel is like this. How can they advertise air conditioning when they don t have it? Our room is currently 30 degrees, but air conditioned . The description of the gym is a lie - there is no treadmill or free weights; it is one elliptical, one stationary bike and a broken resistance machine. The pool is mouldy and cloudy; you can t see the bottom. The staff don t care about the dissatisfaction and are unfriendly and not polite. If for some reason you choose to stay here, I would highly recommend you ask to see your room before paying for it. It s also note worthy to see that the owner only responds to positive reviews and not the negative ones
Very spacious. Air conditioning worked well. Bed was very comfortable. Floors were dirty. Hot tub not working. Pool water not clear.
This place was horrible. Had to change rooms due to sewer smell in first one. 2nd room carpets dirty and sink plugged up in washroom. Very dated and dirty place. Would not recommend and if I could give 0 stars I would. No water From shower And the entire Place Has an old Smell
Great location. Very friendly staff. Good value. Pet friendly.
WORST EVER EXPERIENCE!!!! AND A STAFF STOLE MY HUSBANDS COLOGNE WORTH $140 IF I CAN GIVE A 0 STAR I WOULD!!! I CAME IN THE HOTEL AND IN AN INSTANT NO GREETING FROM THE FRONT DESK ALEX! WAITED FOR ABOUT 20MINS TO BE APPROACHED! NO AC IN OUR ROOM WHEN WE CHECKED IN 35°C WITH HEAT WARNING , I ASKED TO BE SWITCH BUT WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING OR TRY TO CHECK IF THERES AVAILABILITY HE THEN SAID RIGHT AWAY THAT NO AVAILABLE ROOM! I ASKED FOR A FAN HE SAID ALL FANS ARE BEING USED! AND HE WANTED US TO CHECKED OUT AT 10:30 PM WITH A TODDLER AND WE DROVE 14 HOURS! NEVER AGAIN!
Booked this hotel as we were passing through on a road trip with iur three kids and needed a place to stay. Pictures and reviews did not do our room justice. It was terrible!. Smelled of strong curry, floors were sticky, bathroom counter was sticky. Bathroom door fell off in the middle of the night when we went to use it. No window.we.could.open or see out of, only a long skinny one at the ceiling height. I understand they are currently renovating and hotel is undwr new ownership or mangement? So maybe we just got the scraps that were left? Would not stay here again without seeing the room first. Staff at chexk in was great, check out not so much- gave me a dirty look when i told him about the door as if i pulled.the door from the hinges... lobby clean and as shown in pictures and courtyard as well. Lots of parking, no continental breakfast but has a restaurant you can get a percentage off in.
I booked a king room for three nights. Upon arrival they told me I have to take a room with two queen beds on the main floor, which is not renovated with weird odors and multiple stains on the carpet and furniture because I brought my little dog along. This was not mentioned when I made the booking or else I would have reconsidered. The room smells like the previous residents used the carpet as pee pads for their pets. On top of this, I still got charged for the king bed even though the room I got was worse than a 1 star motel! The front desk staff refused to acknowledge the issues and smirked at my comments regarding the extremely low quality of the room I was given. Definitely the WORST hotel experience in my life. Will never go back and highly encourage everyone to reconsider if youre bringing along your dog. Rooms: Dirty and smells like dog urine.
Great service by Shivam at the front desk. Guided us the places to visit nearby with a list. Provided room with good view. Really enjoyed our stay.
good customer service, stayed twice in a week, although no breakfast
the hotel is not bad. the location is also good! it can be seen that there was no renovation for a long time
I was a part of the headliner band which played at the Hidden Hill Festival and the front desk accommodated the band to be on the same floor. The staff is very helpful, pleasant, fabulous with a warm welcome and made check in a breeze. They are very approachable and will make your stay as pleasant as they are. I highly recommend is hotel and we will definitely stay here again. Rooms: The hotel and rooms are very clean, tidy and well-equipped with ample space. The beds are comfortable. Walkability: There is a Plaza/Mall with a Save-On Foods across the road from the front of the hotel entrance with a Wendys next door. Noteworthy details: This hotel is very secure as your hotel card reader will only take you to your assigned floor in the elevator. If you are staying on the second floor, stairs are the only option.
For future stays, I would recommend it. The rooms were excellent for the price, and the staff, especially at the front desk, was very generous.
I would absolutely stay here again. Luciano was my favorite.
Lovely people. Excellent stay top to bottom. Will definitely return!
Do not go here, EVER. I swear to god they do not clean the rooms, the floors were disgusting and so was the bathroom. And guess what, they gave some stranger our room key and the stranger just walked into our room. Luckily we were there, but when called the front desk to complain THEY GOT MAD AT US FOR IT. Literally ruined my whole trip by staying here, protect yourself and your children by not staying here. Rooms: Disgusting Safety: Letting strangers come into our room Noteworthy details: Just an overall terrible place
We had company from out of town book here without talking to us first. We were quite apprehensive given the buildings reputation of its previous owners. Upon their arrival, they found clean rooms with a mix of old and new things. Our company decided to book an extra joining room so we could bring our kids and play in the pool and have a little stay-cation, and we were honestly surprised. The staff was incredibly nice an accommodating. I believe we mostly dealt with Shivam for the the room changes, and have the adjoining room door opened as it was locked shut without a proper key. He we so pleasant and helpful to deal with. The rooms have dated, but in good condition furniture. The beds were comfy enough, linens were clean, bright and crisp. Fresh paint, brand new carpets and bathroom flooring made it look like it had a nice little face lift. It really looks like they are trying to slowly bring it back to life and I am happy to recommend it to anyone visiting here. Especially for the price, Ive stayed in worse for more $$! The only teeny tiny negative thing I could say is the toilet flushes super loud, and you can hear your neighbors toilets...but again, old building
I mean its a cheap establishment but the stench of the hotel, the dingy dim rooms, and the overly outdated furniture just makes the place feel like a dump. Not impressed at all. This place feels and looks like a Motel in need of serious updates. Considering the location I think an investment to the facilities could pay dividends in the long run.
Excellent service
you are told to sign a screen, when youre not even told what youre agreeing to. The fridge was cranked up the coldest temperature, freezing our kids breakfast food, ruining fresh fruit and vegetables. when telling hotel staff about it, they told me I should have checked this before putting food in...? really! dont staff usually turn them down when they clean between guests, to conserve energy? This place has also turned into a complete dump, your greeted by overflowing garbage cans at the main lobby doors. Empty cans and bottles outside of each room on the ground floor units. The complimentary breakfast is a joke too. A chewy bar, an oatmeal cookie, small OJ and fruit cup, all in a brown paper bag.. We were glad some breakfast diners were close by. the pool, hot tub are under renovations. I hear for around two years! So dont advertise that theyre an open amenity. So if you like a cheap, dive-hotel this place may be for you. This will be our last stay and we wont refer this dive hotel to anyone.
Hotel was recommended to me for an unscheduled layover in Vernon. The room was clean and comfortable. Excellent shower and good air conditioning. The front desk (especially Alex) was extremely helpful and accommodating as the length of my stay was uncertain. No problem recommending this hotel.
Our family stayed with Divya Sutra and had a wonderful experience. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Always asking if we needed anything each day. Rooms where clean and beds where great to sleep on, we had a kitchenette room which came with all your basic needs, toaster, pots and pans ect. The swimming pool our kids loved, just your basic pool which is perfect we would stay again for sure. Prices are also very reasonable!! Would reccomend for sure.
Divya (previously riviera) is our go to when we want a pit stop for value. The furnitures and fixtures are dated but the rooms are clean in general. They also offer late checkin and the staff are approachable and attentive. No breakfast and keep in mind that the second floor doesnt have a lift so make sure you dont have a lot of heavy luggage to carry around. Free parking but it does get full pretty quickly especially during the holidays. Rooms: Rooms are old but clean.
Worst customer service wont stay here again. Took advantage after they said would give a discount. Had stayed here many times but n3ver payed this much.
Double charged me for a one night stay. I informed them And they said they d get back to me. Still waiting on a reply and refund months later.
Good
Went to the dining room. Good breakfast. Going to go back for dinner on recommendation. Food and service said to be exceptional. Will find out.
After raising concerns with management, my experience was completely changed. What appeared to be an isolated incident was resolved quickly into a pleasant rest of our stay. Management was eager to make sure we enjoyed our experience and that stands out to me as a business owner. I feel like I spent my money with honorable businessmen and that I could bring my family here in the future.
I made an online reservation using my Visa debit, which was fine. I could pay for the room using the Visa debit if I needed to book a room for my auntie. I m in Alberta she had 125 cash which they refused to accept because they wanted a $50 deposit not in cash but on a credit card so they wouldn t allow her in the room sent her away into the streets. I agreed to do the deposit on my Visa debit, which was good enough for booking the room (and other rooms in the past) has funds on it, but they refused to take it as a payment sending her away into streets, not caring about the people that are trying to stay at the hotel. I would give minus stars if I could for lack of consideration and compassion, and not taking cash forcing ppl to use credit cards ( even though my visa debit has significant funds)
Hi my experience with this hotel is very good and I m using every single time. I am building a home in Vernon and I always use these guys. I totally recommend. Alex is a very nice guy and make sure you guys book through him. Also Shivam is a very good reception as well and always helps us out both Alex and Shivam very helpful. I always recommend to book them if you are ever Vernon.
When i met alex at front desk he was eager to make sure we enjoyed our experience and that stands out to me as a business owner. I feel like I spent my money with honorable businessmen and that I could bring my family here in the future. Rooms: Rooms are neat and clean with luxurious furniture. Food and drinks: Food and drinks are great and service is very fast .
Great service provided by Arash at front desk really nice staff
Im hoping this was an isolated incident. Upon arrival, I met Alex at the front desk, he wasnt eager to help, he was on the phone for around 12-13 minutes, during which he picked up multiple calls. I assumed they were understaffed and it wasnt his fault. I then told him that I have a booking and gave him the details. He quoted me a higher price than what was at the time of booking. When I asked him to honour the price shown at the time of booking, he refused. By this time he had already taken the deposit through my credit card. This was predatory, and left me stranded in the middle of the night.
Stayed here with our family of 5 for a night, Alex at the front desk was so accommodating and his service was impeccable. Will definitely be returning anytime we stay in vernon Walkability: Lots of shipping and food within walking distance.
Rooms are clean nice bute who ever did new paint job did a poor job. Over all I would recommend this hotel. Rooms: Ok
Nice but small rooms
Our stay at Divya Sutra Plaza and Conference Centre was an absolute disaster. The smell on our floor was disgusting, like stepping into a sewer. Being assigned a room without elevator access felt like a slap in the face, especially since we were lugging heavy bags. Despite their promises of a mountain view, we were greeted with a view of nothing. The air conditioning sounded like a jet engine taking off, making it impossible to sleep. This place is a disgrace and a rip-off. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being scammed and tortured simultaneously.
My experience at Divya Sutra Plaza and Conference Centre in Vernon was utterly dreadful. The place reeked of mold and dampness, triggering my allergies the moment I stepped inside. To add insult to injury, our room was located on a floor without elevator access, forcing us to lug our bags up multiple flights of stairs.
I have stayed at this place a few times and there are a few things to know. The staff is amazing and literally better than a 5 star. I ve come in late to get a room and had to Park away but the manager(John) showed up by my car with a cart to push my bags and kids to the main entrance, amazing! Rooms are clean and I can t complain, very cheap in town. One of the best prices for what you get. I recommend this place.
Just went to 27 st Cafe !
Priceline indicates breakfast with rooms. That is not the case. The employee at the counter seemed very intent on staring at my teenage daughter while we waited in line to check in.
I m booking the room in this hotel from last 2 nights but today i got worst service from the guy named ALEX.he s working at the front desk but he don t know how to talk with a customer
Food good and waiter really attentive to my gf allergy
All in all everything was perfect what a high standard hotel offers us the same treatment we get here and I am happy that I decided to stay in this hotel.
Alex and arash are the best front desk attendants. Their check in time was 3pm but with our request they give us a room at 10 am . They are very kind and understanding persons . And service was excellent
Was good for the price. pool kinda was disappointing but the kids still had fun
Rooms are a bit dated but clean, spacious & comfortable. Nice extras like bottled water in the fridge and a fan in the room. Staff was very kind & attentive. Would definitely stay here again:)
You get what you pay for, wouldn t stay again. Bathtub was very dirty.
The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the hotel itself was pretty clean overall. However the pool and hot tub were severely underwhelming. The hot tub was broken, and you couldn t even see the third step going down into the pool. Lots of little things floating in the murky pool water. The tv wasn t working so I called the front desk- said they d get back to me and never did. It s reasonably priced for the room, but if you re looking for anything more than just a place to sleep this place might not be for you.
Very good service by stephen
Central, convenient location with affordable rates. This place just needs to be cleaned up and painted however location is central and staff is very helpful. I really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms : 5/5
No free breakfast. Even though it states that breakfast is provided apon booking. Hot tub doesnt work and looks like it hasnt for awhile. Pool is murky and clearly isnt maintained regularly. $29 pet fee per day that isnt part of booking. Had to manually give visa number as machines were not working properly. Kinda sketchy. If I wouldve known all this I wouldve booked somewhere else. Theres nicer places to stay that take in pets without serving breakfast. Not even fresh coffee at front desk. Lesson learned, except were staying another night... wish us luck!
The staff at Divya Plaza in Vernon were excellent to deal with. They were very warm and welcoming as soon as we came in. The room was large and cozy with a view of the mountain. The restaurant attached to the Plaza also had great good and excellent service. The only complaint we had would be the hot tub was out of order and the pool appeared a bit cloudy, but still usable. I would definitely come back to this hotel and recommend to others. Its a good deal and very welcoming.
Aging conference centre. The posted room rate was good but they did better at the desk. Room was tired, coffee pot didn t work but the bed was clean and comfortable. Standout experience was the front desk person. An immigrant from the Ukraine he did everything in his power to make it a great stay. Fantastic service. A good place to sleep.
My boyfriend and I came here weren t 100% satisfied with the first room but went down to front desk to Alexander. He then upgraded us to a bigger room only to find out we didn t like that one either he took us to multiple rooms to find one with hardwood floor & it was the winner. Alexander is kind and so helpful would highly recommend booking your room through him! Thank you so much for all your help with our stay!
Food and drinks: Basic Service
Staff at front desk, polite and helpful. Room had a foul odour, dresser drawers falling apart, hole in ceiling above bathtub. Trim falling off the wall in bathroom due to water penetration, I m thinking with water intrusion this is where the foul smell is coming from. I had mentioned to staff at front desk, we ll see if these problems are rectified.
We stayed 5 days. They gave us same breakfast in paper bag for 5 days. It was disgusting. Front desk management was so rude. Room carpets are dirty. Food and drinks: Terrible
Over charged was quoted 150 for 2 nights with pets by booking. Once checking in was told 200 for checkin. Rooms dirty dog found 2 tennis balls that shouldve been found if was a clean room. What if previous dogs had parvo or something else. Had to use 2 towels to clean a mess as no housekeeping around and nothing in room incase of a mess. Checked out then was told no deposit returned because I used towels to clean. 300 for 1.5 days. Cust serv non existent. Heard from people we were visiting it has bedbugs checking dogs for anything and checking myself for any bites. Not recommended to stay there.
Never again, absolutely worse place ever and the manager is even worse
Great place, price,service,location great
The hotel was great to stay at! We traveled with a dog, and the pet friendly rooms all back onto a grass, enclosed courtyard for the dogs to use! The hotel has lots of amenities, a complementary breakfast and is easy to navigate. It is also very central in Vernon! The representative who checked us in, Matthew, was a pleasure to deal with. Id recommend this hotel for those traveling with pets, for sure!
Room was dirty. Tub had a scum ring, and did not drain. Vending and ice machine did not work. Pub and restaurant (that were advertised) were not open..
No pool, no hot tub, no restaurant, no hot breakfast, no cleaning, no maid service, no services at all, best of all NO DISCOUNT. Vending machines didnt work or are empty. Look around, no reason to say here.
Booked online when under a different name: DIVYA SUTRA Riviera Plaza and Conference Centre. Only after the reservation was completed was I informed that the advertised pool was not available. Why wouldnt the hotel advise the booking agency of this beforehand? I am not sure they even had one. On making the reservation I informed the hotel that I would be arriving by motorcycle and requested secure parking to which I was reassured that it would be available. Upon arrival I was pointed to only TWO parking spots in their lot that had security camera coverage. Before I could even walk inside to register I was confronted with 2 panhandlers asking for money and food. Later I observed one of them resting inside the lobby. When I asked about the breakfast that is advertised as being available I was told that it was like a continental breakfast. When I went downstairs in the morning I was handed a paper bag that contained a chocolate muffin that did not display an expiry date and tasted more like cake, a cheap granola bar, an individual-sized portion of mandarin oranges and a small juice box. When explained that I dont drink coffee (available in the room) or tea, I asked for a bottle of water. I was told that they sold bottled water for $2.00! There wasnt a breakfast room to eat this in, neither was there even a napkin to use, so I had to return to my room to eat what I could. This property MISSLEADS booking agencies and anyone intending on staying there by calling themselves a conference centre, all they had were plastic utensils, and the pool and breakfast were not real either. A change of name is an often used tactic to hide previous bad performance. Safety: I was confronted by 2 panhandlers on the property outside the entrance to the lobby. Food and drinks: This is NOT a conference centre. The offered breakfast was a paper bag with a piece of chocolate cake, cheap granola bar, childs juice box and canned fruit and was told I could eat this in my room! Noteworthy details: The name misleads people. This is in no way a conference centre. The property misleads client: there isnt a breakfast included, pool wont be usable. When I asked for secure parking for my motorcycle I was pointed to only TWO parking spots that had security camera coverage!
you get what you pay for. rooms were clean and had everything we needed pretty much however. the comforter was just 2 sheets and a throw blanket. no where near sufficient for 2 adults. the wifi kicked us off after the first day, saying we hit our limit. we were there for 3 days 2 nights, the keys also stopped working after the first night, had to get them replaced, bathroom sink was clogged. all in all it was a place to store our stuff and sleep. nothing in the building or adjasent was open tho. seems like this block is going to get demolished and re done one day, only thing left kicking is the hotel, the resturant attached is gone, the fitness center and stores outside are also gone.
The hotel is very old and it definitely wasnt worth the price.
Asked housekeeping to change my sheets after three days .they flipped the bottom sheet upside down... The Garbage cans need to be put in the hall in order to be emptied.pool restaurants and gym are out of service. Only good thing I have to say is front desk staff are super friendly and helpful...
Affordable
Toe nail on ground in room, floor was not vaccumed. Do not recommend
Very good value for the money had a nice stay, good bed
Not the best part of town. Had to ask to switch rooms as it smell of smoke. They did not have clean rooms. Finally checked in at 7 pm. Tv does not work. There is only one clerk, line up to check in is 10 people long. Nobody is picking up the phone at the front desk. It is a disaster.
We checked into our room and it was disgusting. Night stand Surfaces were sticky. The TV had what looked to be bodily fluids on it. There was still food in the fridge. The bed looked like someone had slept on it. No towels in the room. There was garbage in the hallway that had not been picked up the length of our stay. If we could have found another hotel we would have left. Beware of this dumpster of a hotel.
Rude staff, dirty facilities, outrageous polices. My girlfriend split a little coffee on the sheets and they charged me $350. Also the shower did not work. The room was visibly unclean. Smelt musky and like cigarettes. Would not suggest this to anyone. Sure its a good price but with the shotty managment you end up paying more.
We checked in and they put us in a unit that hadn t even been cleaned. Sheets were dirty. Things were sticky. Nasty stuff in the fridge. The second room was really not much better. Make up stains on the counter in the bathroom. No Amenities at all. Pretty much everything was broke down or none existent. Take one walk by the maids tells you everything you need to know. Sitting in the hallways on their phones. No offer to even refund part of our stay. We had no other options at that point but to stay. Never again.
We have a 7lb yorkie with hair so he doesn t shed, so no fur to clean up. He s very well trained so no pee to clean up but they made up take a pet room which was an additional cost plus they charged us an extra $25 pet cleaning fee. So we get to the room and it s dirty but it s dark cause it s after 8:00. I start noticing in the morning just how dirty this room is. Blood stains on the pillowcase and comforter. Old blood so they were brown. The mirror looked like they were wiped with a dirty cloth. Dog fur everywhere! Human hair on the wall and in the fridge and on the lamp, the patio door has dead beetles and didn t look like it had ever been cleaned. The Keurig machine was disgusting see the photos. In the morning we had to leave. We asked for a refund of the next two nights we had paid for and an additional refund at least for the pet cleaning fee waved for the first night since it was clearly NOT cleaned! They gave us a refund for the two nights we didn t stay but wouldn t give us anything off the first horrible night. One night cost us $154 all in and we found a Vrbo for $125 that was a 10/10 so for value it sucked. It was really noisy too. Yelling and swearing in the hallway. People banging on doors. It was a 0/10 rating. They advertised $99 per night hence we thot why not, how bad can it be do not waste your money! Rooms: We have a small non shedding hypoallergenic 7lb yorkie who doesn t shed because they have hair so they made us get a pet room. With the additional $25 cleaning fee cause it was a pet room. The room was absolutely dirty. Dog hair, in the bathroom in the fridge. Human hair in the shower on the lamp. It looks like they just changed the beds and vacuumed. The mirrors were streaky because they used a dirty cloth to wipe them. We stayed one night and that s as enough we asked for a refund for the other two nights we paid for, plus a partial refund for the dirty filled first night we stayed. They wouldn t give us a refund on the night we stayed.
Rooms: The door did not Lock Rooms
Slept like a baby. Wish pool was up and bar open but its not deal breaker. Thanks
This was by far the most disgusting hotel that I have ever stayed at. As soon as you walk into your room, you are blasted with a smell of musty air; the carpets look as though they are the original; walls splattered with unknown fluids; to top it all off, we had zero running water in our shower. When we brought it to the attention of the front desk upon checkout (the morning that we realized our shower didnt work), looking for a partial refund or something to compensate for the absolute lack of quality in the room, we were told management would contact us via phone. After no contact, we reached out to the hotel multiple times and were given the response of we do not offer refunds; we should have brought it to the attention of their staff sooner; if the room was so bad then we shouldnt have stayed there; next time we want better quality to stay at a four star hotel. This was the response of their so called management when we disclosed that the shower didnt work and that the room was dirty. I dont think it is too much to ask that at $150 a night for a pet friendly room, a room would have running water in the shower. Not only was it bad enough that the room was filthy, but the management was unapologetic to the fact that they are running an absolutely disgraceful hotel, was incredibly abrupt and rude.I would not recommend doing business with this hotel at any point in time. An absolute disgrace to the hospitality industry.
If you wish to screw up your day or vacation- stay there.. in my 63 years and a lot of traveling that was in July 2023 Most disgusting experience!!! Absolutely AWFUL!! Stay Away!! Everything, starting from Not professional Frond desk rep, Never ready Rooms, Stinky and dirty rooms, TV not working, door won t lock in the room, nobody cares- we had to block the room door from inside with chair (!!) , coffee machine Not working, no night side table, nothing matches the website description!! There No front desk help, nobody answer the phone ( claims that they too busy) , And for all that You have to pay $100 Damage Deposit?!?!?!?!, which they REFUSED to return upon checkout !!! Saying that room service will check later and decide!!( without witness and afterwards who knows when) it is a Complete Cheating, blaming on so called Hotel policy.. THAT DISGUSTING PLACE HARD TO CALL HOTEL !! Owners attention Needed ASAP.. that place will be out of business Very Soon! IF I COULD I WOULD BE PUTTING 0 Stars thanks P.S. of course not pool, not gym, weren t functioning for unknown reasons like everything else My opinion- they need to pay me to stay in this hole, and not vice versa !!!!!! If you can stay away from that place- stay in a good spirit and good mood !!!
Who puts a skylight in a hotel room?? The morning sun woke us up at 4am! Never had such awful sleep in a hotel. The place is modest, smells old but clean with all the basics. Bring a sleep mask if you decide to stay!!
The location is good, priced for its basic service and rooms are not the greatest. Rooms are old and filthy. Room service must be upon request i assume. (Cleaning, change sheets, towels, tissue, etc.), internet service must be updated every night to reconnect. Ok for tight budget stay. Walkability: Near to other establishments, laundry mat and gas stations.
Good for price though, but rooms require a lot of Cleaning and maintenance
We got in at about 10:30 and the guy at the front desk was not the friendliest. He did confirm that breakfast was included but he gave us no information on it, just said good night as in were done here. We got up to our room and the beds were mostly clean, one duvet had a stain. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure was good. They dont come to clean the room until you leave. Our cable box didnt work and they had to send someone up the next day to fix it. Breakfast ended up being a bag of cheap stuff (see picture) that was horrible and no fresh coffee you have coffee in your room. No options at all. The coffee was also cheap Keurig pods of the worst coffee ever. I couldnt connect to the wifi and had to call Shaw to get myself connected. Also we had to plug in all the lamps. We did not have a good experience here.
Called to make a booking and was answered by a rude male at the front desk. Hanged the phone on me before I even finished talking, that made me look at the reviews and am not surprised.
I stayed at this place with my family during our summer trip. It wasn t very nice though, the bathrooms weren t clean and there was hair in the shower drain even though nobody had gone into it yet. The beds were very comfortable though but I was afraid to go in them because they looked a bit dirty. The breakfast is also a very big scam, they had you a paper bag with a muffin, juice box and apple, which is not bad but there was no place to even eat it. The keycards barely worked and we had to keep replacing them with the front desk every time we tried to open the doors. In this hotel you definitely get what you paid for, that s why I voted it three stars.
This hotel should be condemned. Our room was terrible. The bathroom had mild in the corners on the floor, the tub was dirty and black around the drain. I would not shower in it. There was a red stain on the sheets, the mirrors were not clean. The hallways were dirty, wet towels outside the door as well as garbage. The rugs in the hallway ere dirty, a house keeper left her vacuum in the middle of the hallway and I tripped over the cord which was in the middle of the hallway. No Kleenex and very noisy. Dogs barking and kids screaming. I will never stay in that hotel again and will be telling every one I know never to stay there.
BEWARE! Learned the room deposit takes 2 months to be returned! Only stayed one night. Specifically chose the hotel because of the pool, which they didnt tell me was closed. Instead sneakily slipped a note into my room key to find after I had paid. Then found wrappers under my bed
Our room was clean, older carpets and decor, elevator and halls need a good cleaning, friendly staff, have a hunch it doubles as a SRO...you get what you pay for.. probably wont be back but our short stay was good...
Swimming pool out of order. Hot tub out of order. Pool tables out of order. Restaurant under renovation (who renos during the on season?), filthy carpets, holes in walls, bathroom ceiling caving in, garbage behind furniture(found when I had to plug in the microwave-gross), NO housekeeping from day to day, cable worked only after I fixed it myself, continental breakfast is a paper bag of dollar store snacks. Should be condemned. However, the staff were pleasant and working hard! They did the best with what they had. They all deserve better jobs.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at this horrendous excuse for a hotel, and I couldnt wait to share my utter disappointment with the world. From the moment I stepped foot into the lobby, it was clear that this place had absolutely no regard for its guests time and well-being. My check-in process turned into an agonizing over 50-minute ordeal that felt like an eternity in the fiery pits of hell. Its truly baffling how a hotel can manage to be so utterly inept at performing such a basic task. The staff appeared to be moving in slow motion, displaying a level of apathy and indifference that bordered on the absurd. As I stood there, trapped in a seemingly endless cycle of incompetence, I couldnt help but ponder the meaning of life and whether I had unwittingly stumbled into a time warp. Perhaps this hotel is secretly conducting experiments in temporal distortion, using its guests as unwitting subjects. The icing on the cake was the complete lack of communication. No one bothered to provide any sort of explanation for the inexplicable delay. It was as if my time was of no value whatsoever, and they were doing me a favor by allowing me the privilege of waiting endlessly. In conclusion, if you have even an ounce of respect for your sanity, avoid this abomination of a hotel like the plague. Unless you derive twisted pleasure from being treated like a disposable inconvenience, there is absolutely no reason to subject yourself to the mind-numbing ordeal of a 50-minute check-in process from the seventh circle of hospitality hell. Ill be sure to spread the word far and wide, warning anyone and everyone to stay far, far away from this pitiful excuse for an accommodation.
The staff at the riviera hotel are terrible. Ive personally witnessed them have new patrons sleep on old patrons used bed ware. On multiple occasions after the second days of use I have to go down and get my own towels and bring the old ones back. The staff lie ALL THE TIME to make reasons why your room wasnt cleaned for days at a time. They are not at all a hotel that should be in buisness.
I usually dont leave negative reviews. I realise the hotel industry is hard work but we had a horrible experience in this hotel... 1. Front desk manager is sooo rude. 2. Room is unclean, feels dusty. 3. Zero service - (i) The person at the reception would never answer the phone, youve got to go down and personally speak to them if you need anything. (ii) I went down to enquire with the reception if we could get milk for our crying baby, the guy could see us struggling but kept us waiting. After 10mins, finally I found somebody else to speak with who pointed me to go to the petrol station because they dont have any restaurants here. In my opinion, there are many better places out there...
Very cold. Hard to reach anyone aat front desk. NO POOL; NO RESTAURANT
The service was great, although I ordered a wheelchair accessible room, couldnt get into the bathroom with my wheelchair! Was disappointed that it didnt meet my expectations!
DONT BOOK HERE. We did not expect an amazing high-end room for the price, but at least a comfy bed and a good AC, but we got tricked, lol. I talked to the front desk clerk for our AC situation, and i was told to wait for 20 to 30 minutes before it will start to be cold, and it is still not working well. We have to use their noisy electric fan. I told them that we just wanna have a room that works and have a comfortable bed because we have been living on a harsh condition for our work for months and the lady cut me off mid sentence and replied its your choice to do that right? Well, she is not wrong at all, hahaha. 1st time and last time.
Its OK.
The check-in process is very long and unprofessional, as are the registration staff, respectively. But these are all minor things. When I got up to my room, I realized that I couldn t open the lock because the key was electronic and the lock was mechanical. I went down and stood in line again. To my surprise, they brought the key. ;). Okay, it happens. When I finally got to the room, I found no refrigerator, no TV, and there weren t even any windows in the room. Of course, I would have suffered without a TV with windows, but the refrigerator was needed for groceries. I went down again and asked. I was assured that there was a refrigerator in the room. I went looking for more. I didn t find it.) I went down again. In response to this, they directly told me not to interfere and suggested that I go to another hotel. To which I kindly agreed;) and left this gloomy place. Bottom line: after traveling in Canada for two months, I met a lot of Canadian people and I can confidently say that they are wonderful, kind, polite, reasonable people. Despite the pile of lies and propaganda that has recently been poured out on my country, I have never encountered any malice or disrespect addressed to me. This hotel was an exception. I hope this proves the rule ;). The hotel staff are not competent or polite. I m sure they are good people and I don t wish them harm, but I don t recommend them to work with clients. I also ask the hotel staff not to disgrace Canada and the Canadian people. Additionally, I inform you that I have written an appeal to the Canadian government with a complaint about your employees. P.S. Literally an hour later I checked into a great hotel in downtown Kelowna for almost the same price. ;).
For $99/night we got a king-size bed with clean white duvet cover and sheet. Bathroom is good size and provides good privacy. Water drained well in the bathtub, but not the sink. We were disappointed that during our two night stay nobody came make the bed or refill coffee pods/bathroom supply or change towels. Other comments I have: 1. Front staffs are not customer- oriented. They don t tell you that the breakfast is basically kept in brown bags behind the counter and that you have to ask for it. No ask and you shall not receive. If you ask them for directions their attitude is like I don t know go find yourself . 2. The TV in the room is not working most of the time and if you call the front desk for service they just say there s only one technician who knows how to fix it and he s off already. So no TV access most of the time. 3. The shower curtain is very dirty, time to change. Same thing with the carpet on the hallway and inside the elevator. There were lots of boxed stored next to the elevator which looked messy. 4. The stationary bike in the couldn t-be-smaller and crowded gym is not working unless you have your own password to hook up to peloton or something. The front desk doesn t tell you either. 5. On the website it mentions pool and sound accessibility after July but in reality there s none. My observation is that maybe the hotel is under new management and that all the staffs are still under training. But please hire the right people who have the passion and professionalism to work in the hotel industry. I don t mind paying more for better quality. Food and drinks: There s Social Brown House for dinner, Cora for breakfast among several fast food chains like MacDonalds and Tim Horton. A couple pubs like Squires 4.
AWFUL... just cheap and polite staff and other things.... Rooms
I called your front desk and never heard back from anyone after multiple attempts at contact. A very rude employee answered the phone, I tried to book a room for over a week he told me it wasnt available. But it says availability on the website, I entered my dates to check if it was available and it says its AVAILABLE... so whats going on here? I called back after seeing it was available, the guy again he tells me its not available but I said to him it is available on the website and I would like to book it over the phone so i can get a price with pets and other add ons and again he says arguing with me that he cannot see it on his computer, so whats going on here?? Then he says very rudely shouts at me Im really busy here youre gonna have to hold and just hangs up the phone I wasnt even put on hold. That is absolutely unacceptable employee behavior, and whoever is manager of this place should be embarrassed to have someone running the front desk who talks like that to customers. I was about to spend almost $2500 booking the apartment suite for over a week and now Im gonna go somewhere else after being treated so rudely. You guys just lost $2500+ because of that front desk attendant. I have been a customer at this hotel for over 20 years and this is the first time Ive ever been treated disrespectful by their employees. Shame on you all. Nearby activities: Close to the mall and other shopping centers.
Nice place to stay for not too much money. 50 km from Kelowna so we stayed in the hotel instead of renting something ridiculous in Kelowna
Smelling carpet on way to room.
Great location and clean rooms excellent customer service
Lets call this place what it actually is - a welfare hotel. Its a last resort before homelessness. I honestly cant believe the expectation created by this hotels website and Google page vs. reality. We were evacuated due to wildfires and got a pet friendly room on the ground floor. There were two creepy old men who sat on the patio outside our sliding door 24/7 drinking beer, smoking weed, and looking at our children through the window. We had to keep the drapes shut. Our rooms door never locked properly so the items we fleed our home with were never secure. We felt super uneasy about leaving our room unattended. The rooms are FILTHY. Im talking hair and toe nails in the corners, ant infestations, mysterious carpet stains, drapes hung by shower curtain holders, dark handprints on the walls. The pool has obviously been out of order for a looong time. And we experienced two power outages during our 48-hour stay. The building should be condemned. Long story short: Stay somewhere else!!! Safety: You will NOT feel safe in this hotel, especially if you are traveling with children.
Rooms: Location was fine Room was pathetic with pungent smell. If you switch on the toilet exhaust, whole room will smell like urine. Dont be lured by breakfast as they will handover. Small packet with muffin, granola bar, small juice packet and kids fruit pack (not fresh). No coffee, toast etc. TV was not even working and asking for a code. When called reception, they will come into you room in order to fix with no luck and just waste of time. Checked in too late, and tired to go back and forth for a change etc. cant sleep whole night and if you open balcony door then cigarette smell will be there. Dont even dare to walk bare foot on carpet as it was so dirty and had stains. It was even worse than a cheap 100 years old motel. I have to leave in urgency so cant put a formal complaint. It was a total waste of money. Sorry, no offences to the staff but it was a total waste of money and please stay away.
Staff not trained, dirty rooms and front entrance, breakfast is plastic fruit mix in a paper bag. Front desk slow and not able to process bookings via phone. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
It looks nice on the outside. The lobby is well kept. The rooms initially looked good but it needed a deep annual clean plus maintenance. Things like the entire kitchen sink was loose and the faucet would almost spin off. The vents needed cleaning. A little bit of attention and I would give this four stars.
An older building thats been nicely renovated & is suited to function well for short term & month to month stays. They have suites with kitchens and some pet friendly rooms aswell. The staff are always friendly & helpful. After how disappointing the locally owned motels were while I stayed in Vernon over the summer, it was a real breath of fresh air to see the friendly smiles of the staff members at the Riviera!!!! Kind & considerate they make your stay with them comfortable,& it was the first I felt welcome all summer!!! The other motels I stayed in were not only alot more money, but myself & other guests agreed we were treated as & made to feel like we were an inconvenience to the staff and even the owners themselves.( Ill post my reviews on those motels soon!) Hands down the Riviera plaza & conference center was the cleanest, best managed, most inviting, friendly staff & environment I had in the 4 months I stayed in Vernon!!! And for the nightly, weekly & monthly rates being the lowest I could find during Vernons peak season- youll find it to be better than you expect compared to the cost of other motels & suites. I highly recommend if your planning visiting Vernon B.C. and require accomodations- look no further- book your stay at the Riviera!! And with some of the money you saved on accomodations staying at the Riviera, you can check out the mall that is conveniently right across the street! Happy travels!!
very unsafe ..two guys are knocking doors at night 10pm for some survey and hotel didnt know anything Not recommended Safety: very poor
When we checked the first room they gave us we rejected it as there was a cigarette butt on the floor.they offered a second room which looked clean and tidy.once we had settled in we went to use the tv and couldn t get it to work.gentleman off the front desk came up and got it working which lasted for about half an hour.went to front desc again and same person came up and decided it needed a new box beside the tv.we asked every day to have tv fixed there was always excuses and it was not fixed during our stay. Staff were always very polite and did offer us yet another room change which we declined as we had decided to move on .
I have always enjoyed many experiences at this hotel over my years of living and working in and around the North Okanagan. There are many changes coming to this hotel and property. Hopefully, they will bring back the friendly restaurant and the enjoyable ambience and nightlife of a lounge and a large cold beer pub and entertainment, in the not too distant future. This is a comfortable hotel, very close to a large mall and amenities. The Riviera hotel is open for business, as renovations are underway Nearby activities: There is a large mall and Save on Foods /Liquor store, brand name eateries, The Bay, Canadian Tire and a great Lunch restaurant across Highway 97.
I stayed here for a week in September, and all I can say is that it was filthy and did not allow early check-out. I put up with it for a week and can hardly imagine how I got through it. I had skin allergies for a long time due to the unclean conditions in the accommodation. Worst hotel experience in my business travel career!
Rooms: Filthy . Breakfast was brown paper bag at the front desk but by 8 am they had none left. We were given warm orange juice and a dried out granola bar. Check your coffee machine in your room. Ours was so disgusting we took it to the front desk. We were given a cloth and cleaner to clean our own room by some man that was at the front desk. After bringing the night manager to the room to show him how dirty the room was finally he gave us a room at 10:30 pm on the fifth floor. We will never stay here again. When you phone the hotel it appears there is a restaurant and bar there but both are closed down. Id say false advertising. Very disappointed with our stay and looked forward to leaving the next morning
Loud squeel from building heat system throughout all ductwork Noteworthy details: Old and smelly elevator, needs carpet cleaning or upgrades badly. Cheep for a reason. Good if you want to save some money. No hot tub, friendly staff. Name on invoice not the same as before. New name. Handy brown bag lunch for travelers.
Great services by staff. Special thanks to Shivam for good hospitality. Love to stay here again.
Rooms: It was great Rooms
This was my second stay at riveria and it was so perfect for the price i paid, the staff is super friendly, i had problem with my room shower and i was moved to a king size room, it was super spacious and clean. I love the fact that they right away changed it for me. Simran is so friendly she was the one to make that decision without hesitation. We also got the breakfast from them. See you soon simran. Thanks for making my stay so comfortable.
Good location good price. Room is decent for the price. No real breakfast. I only paid 80 for a night, so it is good.
The hotel just changed owner. So it isnt perfect but the front desk is so very accommodating. Rooms are clean, by far the best hotel for the price. I have been in hundreds of hotels and I would definitely say this top 10 for hotel in the areas.
Great dog room! Fenced area off the room! Wow!
My recent stay at Riviera Divya Sutra Plaza & Conference Centre in Vernon was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this hotel falls far below the standards one would expect. 1. Unsanitary Conditions: The cleanliness of the hotel was appalling. The bathroom sink was dirty, and it seemed like it hadnt been properly cleaned in ages. Additionally, the hallways emitted a strong smell of Marijuana, which further contributed to the unsanitary environment. These lack of hygiene and unsettling odors are completely unacceptable. 2. Subpar Breakfast: The breakfast provided was a major letdown. Instead of freshly cooked meals, everything was pre-packaged and wrapped. I received a dry pre-packaged muffin, a single pre-packaged Voortsman cookie, a single NutriGrain bar, and a red apple. The lack of effort put into providing a decent breakfast was evident and disappointing. 3. Lack of Amenities: Despite the hotels claims, the amenities offered were far from satisfactory. The free wifi was unreliable, hindering my ability to stay connected. Additionally, the pool was poorly maintained, which made it unappealing for use. It was evident that the management did not prioritize the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. Moreover, I was disappointed to discover that the pool tables and vending machines, which were previously available, had been removed after a management changeover. 4. Unprofessional Staff: The staff at Riviera Divya Sutra Plaza & Conference Centre lacked professionalism and attentiveness. They seemed disinterested in addressing guests concerns and were unhelpful in resolving any issues that arose during my stay. It is worth noting that the staff used to be fantastic, but after the management change, the hotel released experienced staff members and replaced them with new staff who were unprepared to handle their roles effectively. Overall, my experience at Riviera Divya Sutra Plaza & Conference Centre was extremely disappointing. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel if you value cleanliness, quality service, and a pleasant experience. There are far better options available in Vernon that offer superior accommodations and customer service.
Smelled cigarette smoke as soon as I entered my non smoking room, heavy smoke, then later found the wrapper for the pack under the sink. Room was in need of renovation and basic, but I knew that in advance.
Stayed for business. Front desk tells you one thing then does another.
Good
Havent stayed here, but the front desk are pretty nice.
