We ordered Amritsari Kulcha via Uber from this place, but the food was not up to the mark. The Chana Sabzi tasted terrible and was not mixed well. The gravy was watery, lacking any flavor. As for the Kulcha, it was hard to find the potato filling; it felt like just plain hard flour. This has happened to us twice. We decided to give them another chance, but they failed again this time. Vegetarian options: Amritsari Kulcha

By far my favorite Indian restaurant in Vernon, everything I have tried tastes amazing, and you get really big portions too! Its a treat for me every now and then in take out, and dining in the staff are very kind and friendly.

Ordered out butter chicken for my family and it did not disappoint. My kids can t do spice so picked the mild option which was actually mild. Quite often with other restaurants mild is still too spicy for them. Will definitely order again and look forward to trying other items on the menu.

This is my first time coming here and the vibes here are so refreshing and it really makes you feel you are in a veryyyyy good place. Talking about the service it was phenomenal. Amy made sure that we are enjoying to our fullest. She is very kind also. The food is really authentic and freshly made. You will never feel that you are eating something heavy or oily. All in all this place is a must visit.

Welcome to the new, improved Saffron Touch! Hadnt been there in over 4 years...it is a MUCH better value now! Good fish pakoras, free rice, and delicious Butter Chicken, Chicken Rogan Josh. Yep, thats what its called. I recommend this restaurant, and the excellent service! Parking: Street parking.

Food was delectable, lots of service, helpful explaining dishes and spices heatlevel. 2 in party had not eaten curry in the past ,they said was very enjoyable. I recommend. It will be my go to. We tried Saffron Touch for the first time, and will be visiting again soon. The service was unwavering; friendly and attentive. The portions were not huge but satisfying. I ordered the special and opted for the butter chicken. I left feeling satisfied and with some leftovers. The flavors of the butter chicken were on point, very well seasoned, and the sauce texture was luxurious. Best butter chicken I have ever tried. The sides that came with the dish were also tasty and just enough of each. The naan was also delicious. It was overall a very pleasant culinary experience.

My family ate here and my mother an myself got food poisoning she s been nonstop vomiting since last night. This was the best place in town. Before they switched owners and management. And the cooks. I m very saddened by this because we used to eat here for many years. I will not come back to this restaurant. Even the way they delivered the food it was in a tray dish with everything all attached. Not like it used to be. In single dishes as ordered. Too bad a wonderful restaurant that s been around for many years has now gone under.

Best saffron platter in town and friendly staff

This is absolutely the best Indian Cuisine I have ever eaten! I had samosa, chicken korma, rice, butter naan and beautiful Indian tea. The atmosphere was very inviting, the staff very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. From now on it is the only restaurant that I will go to for Indian Cuisine.

What began as a bad experience became a wonderful one I tried ordering via dash door numerous attempts rejected my order Frustrated by this experience I called the new owners they went above and beyond to correct this experience had a friend pic up an owner I presume to drop off my order is this food same as the original No ! Is it good Indeed it is the naan bread my fav from the original is thicker I use it as a wrap It is also very tasty Butter chicken order a bit hotter than usual Not as creamy yet very tasty must add portion was indeed greater I would totally recommend this restaurant based on the quantity the quality and the over the top service the new owners were willing to provide I thank you

Saffron is by far the best curry in the Okanagan. I drive from Kelowna to Vernon just to go here. The staff is also amazing, especially Sam! Couldnt recommend Saffron Touch Indian Cuisine enough.

Used to be my favorite Indian food place in town. Last few orders were smaller portions, less meat, and half the amount of naan bread. Four stars still because the owners are super nice and the food is still pretty good, just not what it used to be.

We have been going to Saffron Touch for 6-7 years now and it s always our first choice when dining out in downtown Vernon. The food is spectacular without exaggeration! And the service by Samuel makes you feel like you re in a upper scale restaurant! The lamb is so tender and tasty had to take a picture of the presentation before beginning eating. I can t recommend it enough giving them a try if you have not eaten here yet simply amazing and you will say Wow, is this ever good! with every mouth full. Thank you Sam for your excellent service!

I ordered out and it was very disappointing to say the least. The naan was so floppy and soggy and the flavor was very underwhelming. The chicken in my dish was definitely overdone as it was quite dry. I probably would have been better off buying a premade sauce. I dont believe I will be ordering from here again.. I also ordered a chai with my meal and given everything...at least the tea was alright.

I always order take out (butter chicken & aloo gobi) It takes about 15 mins for me to get home and it s still very good. I ve tried many other Indian restaurants in Vancouver & this place is the closest thing to satisfy my cravings. Thank you for always giving friendly service as well!

This place smelled good we walked by and ditched our original dinner plans. Did not disappoint. Spice was bang on and had depth.Warm and friendly atmosphere to match. Will be eating here again. Dont sleep on this gem.

Service took forever. Once the samosas came the garnish was old and moldy. We showed it to the waitress and said we were leaving. She asked in a surprised voicebecause of that? And I told her I didnt trust the rest of the food quality if something obvious like moldy vegetables made it to my table.

Wont order from them again. Their pakoras were good but their mains are minimum $16 and dont come with rice or naan. A small side of rice was over $6, same for the naan you only get 1 piece! Overall disappointed.

I m generally not one for Indian food due to my sensitivity to spices, but I quite enjoyed my experience at Saffron Touch. The waiter assured me that the spice levels could meet my request of zero spiciness. And while other restaurants have made that claim and lied, this restaurant was truthful with their claims. I would go again.

My family and I decided today was the day for Indian cuisine and Ill never regret it!! After getting our food from the extremely friendly and helpful staff we went to the park for our regular outing. My siblings didnt even look at the park till they were done eating every bit of Nan I bought!! I was also very pleased with the portions as they werent puny, nor were they gargantuan. So there was no waste!! Overall very pleased with the whole experience and WILL be returning Kid-friendliness: It is a well family oriented reastraunt with very welcoming atmosphere

This was the 89th eatery I visited in Vernon. This was my first time dining in at Saffron Touch. Along with Curry Pot, Saffron Touch is one of the original East Indian restaurants here in town. Saffron Touch has done a better job of adapting to the surrounding environment. I previously ordered delivery a few years ago. While the staff was super helpful and friendly, and even went above and beyond by delivering it to me 30 minutes after closure because Doordash made a huge error, I was disappointed with spending 40 bucks on a tiny portion. Because of the tiny portions and having the largest price tag in town, I hadnt eaten from there since that day. Thankfully I gave them another chance and dined in yesterday. I ordered a mushroom masala and garlic naan which came to $22.41 after tax and an 18 percent tip. It included free rice with the meal. I know myself and others pointed out Saffron Touch didnt include free rice or naan like Haveli, Shahi Pakwan, and Namaste do. I am happy to find out theyve joined the rest. Curry Pot are the only holdouts in town. The mushroom masala tasted really good. It isnt the biggest portion size like youd find at Haveli, but I never felt like I was short changed. There was also a free dessert too! Seeds mixed with tiny jelly beans which freshens your breath. No other place in Vernon gives this out at the end of the meal. The server was very friendly. We chatted a lot as it wasnt super busy. He also repeatedly came by to fill my water. Overall, I highly recommend this spot. There are so many excellent East Indian restaurants you need to try. Vernon has come a long way. Current Vernon East Indian Restaurant Rankings: 1) Haveli (I love the big venue. Most affordable lunch menu set. Biggest portions. Favourite menu options.) 2) Namaste (Indochinese dishes are awesome. Great pakora. Garlic naan included. I love the deep fried cauliflower dish.) 3) Shahi Pakwan (Best naan bread. Mushroom Do Piaza is great.) 4) Saffron Touch (Best customer service. Reliable. Consistent. Best free dessert dish.) 5) Curry Pot (The only one I dont recommend overall. However, my food tasted great.) Vegetarian options: Various masalas for vegans.

Amazing butter chicken, saffron rice, and garlic naan. Great service and a large variety of dishes to try with vegetarian options available. You can customize the spice level with every dish. I loved the environment and I would come here again.

This little hole in the wall is severely underrated. The food is great, the atmosphere super intimate and warm. The server was great and super informative. 10/10 have come back multiple times, Im obsessed with the mushroom masala.

This place is truly a hidden gem <3 Been my go-to restaurant for years. Food is always delicious and presented beautifully! The service here is also amazing, best in town honestly I always look forward to dinner here!

Friendly service, good tasting food!

We went for dinner here the week of March 21, 2022. The décor is authentic, the space is clean, and the food was phenomenal. We were very impressed with the server through out the meal, ever attentive and engaging in conversation easily. Our portions were plenty and very flavorful. We eat a lot of Indian cuisine and know where the best spots are in the Central and North Okanagan. Saffron, in our opinion is one of the best and we will definitely become regulars.

Absolutely love this place! Wonderful curry, Goan with lamb is so good and the peshawari naan is incredible, I get it every time!

We ordered takeout for dinner. We were disappointed by the flavors in the main dishes. Also, you must order rice separately. We found the naan overly oily in comparison to other places. Not likely to order from Saffron Touch again.

Amazing customer service. I was promptly greeted once arriving. I was treated very well and I felt respected when they called me sir:) would highly recommend. The food is delicious and the spicy scale they use is accurate.

Great food great service. Definitely my favorite Indian restaurant in Vernon! Started off with Indian Chai that warmed us right up. We got the lamb biryani which was spiced perfectly, the lamb was tender, and the rice was fluffy. Aloo ghobi was great as well with the potatoes having a crispiness underneath the yummy sauce. Palak paneer and butter chicken were delicious, as expected. Presentation and service were amazing. The server was available when we needed but not overbearing. The dishes look smaller than they are when they come out, but the bowls are deep. This was enough food for 4 and pricing was reasonable.

At the end of a long evening walk, this was the perfect meal! The Aloo Gobi and Butter Chicken were delicious with Saffron Rice, and the Vegetable Pakora was a great appetizer! The service was amazing, he was extremely friendly, and he took some satisfaction in placing the dishes on the table just so! All in all, an extremely pleasant experience, and I definitely plan to eat here again!

The worst Indian food in the city. I dont post bad reviews but the food was terrible tonight. Naan bread wasnt cooked and the food had no taste which I never thought would be possible for Indian food.

This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Vernon! All the dishes we have tried are incredibly tasty and the service is always impeccable...attentive and professional. I did notice that the dishes are a bit smaller in size (than usual) and may likely be geared towards individual portions. Overall, a wonderful Indian cuisine experience!

Disgusting food. Ordered Paneer tikka and paneer was uncooked and raw and just marination on top. Mushroom masala was too oily and felt it was old and no taste. Dont waste your money here and find a better restaurant to dine in

Went for lunch with my daughter on a snowy blustery day and were pleasantly surprised! Sam was a great server and the food was amazing! I had the lamb Rogan Josh and my daughter the Prawn curry, we also had samosas and Naan. All of it was perfect for the weather! Definitely will be going back for more!!

Incredibly friendly staff, clean restaurant, excellent food! A small group of us wrapped up a late night class and spontaneously popped in two minutes before closing and they happily accommodated us, not once making us feel like a burden or rushed in any way. Not the best Indian food Ive had but it was good. Got the butter chicken with medium heat but the chicken chucks are quite large, samosas which seemed to only have potatoes in it and not much flavor and the garlic naan bread was the best part. We got take out and brought it home only to find there was no rice, I dont recall seeing rice on the menu and thought it would come with it, so I made my own rice and enjoyed the meal.

Had to be one of the best Indian cuisines Ive ever had, the service was awesome and the waiter was extremely polite. The food there was amazing too, the butter chicken was so rich in flavor that my mouth was completely caught of guard. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant.

The. Best. Indian food in Vernon, hands down. Possibly the best Indian cuisine in the Okanagan. A pillar of downtown Vernon dining for years, it is still standing thru the pandemic and still making the most authentic and satisfying Indian and Tandoori around.

No rice, no naan bread delivered even when ordered additionally on-side. Left me with $38 worth curry and nothing to eat it with. Great job! Over-priced, poor service and cant say anything about the food cause its not delivered with anything to go with the curry.

Service 2* Didnt answer the phone when I called twice. Called me back as I was browsing another restaurants menu, seemed like a good start, but I should have not bothered to answer. On pickup I asked how long our food would be, he offered to check with kitchen for a precise answer - this is handy as Im holding my 13mo in one arm. While were waiting for an answer, Uber comes in. He comes out of kitchen, ignores me, deals with Uber guy and starts tidying random things until I ask again. Im the only person in the place. Insincere attitude. Food 3* curry itself was good, rice was plentiful but marginal to terrible, naan was bland like it had been microwaved, pakoras were doughy and uninspired. Poppadom was worst my wife has had apparently! Pakoras looked like they came from superstore. Price 1* - thats subjective of course, but nearly 60$ (before tip) for the same order that cost us 45$ (and was better) elsewhere in Vernon.

Best Indian cuisine in Vernon! Great owners, great good, great service! No one can even come close to the quality of food they put out. My wife and I have supported this business for the better part of 10 years, even before they were Saffron Touch(previously New Delhi). I look forward to another 10 years of top notch Indian food that we cant seem to get enough of :)

I was a fool for not coming to eat here sooner. The lunch buffet is excellent with a huge variety of dishes and not watered down just because they are buffet. Very tasty food at a reasonable price, if youre looking for the best Indian lunch buffet come here.

Worst customer service! We experienced hard time with the server and assistant manager at this restaurant. They had two price for food. They billed us too much than what offered to us. Server had no idea how to process a refund. Manager was irresponsible and didn t even try to fix the issue. Looks like they don t care their customers.....!

Has gone downhill in my opinion, portions were small, we ordered it mild ( my wife likes) so I asked for hot sauce, they charged me $6.85 for a little side of sauce, and as we were the only ones there, I commented, and server said, we are busy with take-outs. now only one Naan per order... we wont be going back. PS the dishes were already much hotter than a 2, so my wife wasnt happy either...

Best tasting Indian Food in town by far! Their butter chicken has a unique and lasting flavour that will keep your mouth watering for more, and the saffron seasoning definitely makes a distinct difference in taste compared to other places.

Good service but hands down the worst korma i have ever had in my life. Ended up throwing it away.

I say give this restaurant a chance. It was my first time eating the buffet, and it was delicious. There were at least 4 more dishes to select from than other Indian buffets I have been to. And what was great was that it tasted clean and didnt leave me feeling overly bloated. I was sad to see, and wasnt sure why it wasnt as busy as I thought it should have been.

Terrible food and attitude chef. I ordered food around $160 and I asked from the server that, can I get some gravy for my biriyani as it was really dry and hot but tasteless and he rushed to the kitchen and I heard the chef saying Nothing for free here. Then the server came out and asked me to buy a portion if I want to get some gravy. Very disappointed as we already spent $160 at the restaurant and having an unpleasant experience. We went there to eat and have a good time but it ends up with terrible experience. Never go there any tells all my friends not to go there too. I wish this place close down sooner as his terrible attitude.

This place feels like home. I love the food and I love the service. I have a digestive disease and my body is very picky. I feast here when I get the craving and always feel good!

Hubby and I stopped in for their lunch buffet because our usual spot was closed. Needless to say this will be our new favorite place! The food was fresh, plentiful and the flavors were absolutely incredible. I grew up eating traditional Indian food and this is spot on!! Hands down the best in Vernon!!!

Food is really good and authentic, doesnt taste watered down, service was friendly although I just grabbed some take out after a long day at the office. Wish the portions were a tad bit bigger but other than that, great food Ill be back for!

Really good food

We got takeout from here tonight because The Curry Pot wasnt answering their phone and am I ever glad we did! Excellent food and the dishes were about the size we would expect (would be great if you got a bit more but what you get is really good). The guy inside was super friendly and the food was actually ready a bit early. We will most definitely be back!

We dined at Saffron after a friend recommended it. Not let down. Really rich and authentic flavour with herbs and spices. I was really happy with everything, including the service.

Went last night to pick up a takeaway order of coconut chicken, chicken korma, paneer pakora and chicken pakora. Before I get to the food here are a few thoughts. Wed been having Indian food recently from The Curry Pot across the street so I thought Id change it up a bit. I got there and the order wasnt ready so the guy rang it through and it came to just over $50 and that was before any tip! As I waited I took a menu and looked at the prices. $6.95 for the pakora and $12.95 for each of the curries. So quick calculation and that was $40 before tax. When I added the 5% tax it should have been $42. So I said to the guy and he gave me the prices subject to change without notice bit. Not impressed at all. I have never been to a restaurant where the price on the menu was so different from what I was charged. The pakora was now $10.95 each. Thats an increase of $4 each. I could understand if it had been maybe $1 or something but $4! I felt like asking the guy when the menus where printed and if the menus were so out of date why were they still using them. He wasnt even very apologetic. Now to the food. The curries were ok. We ordered a mild because we like flavour but not so hot. The curry pot mild is just right for our taste but this was just bland. There was a decent amount of sauce and chicken, but I honestly couldnt tell the difference between the korma and the coconut chicken. They looked and tasted the same :( The pakora wasnt crispy, and wasnt very tasty either. Sorry but I wont be going here again, back to the curry pot for us.

I love this place. Friendly guy at the front desk who always likes to chat which is awesome. Saffron touch has such a unique and warm vibe to it. The vegetable pakoras are to die for!!! The only down side I could possibly say would be the price. Its a little more expensive than other places but totally worth it for the quality, customer service and supporting a locally owned business.

The food here is well prepared and has a delicate mix of flavours. I recommend the Saffron Curry. The black tea was overly strong and not very flavorful. Prices are medium-high.

Been here several times for the lunch smorgasbord and happy each time. Decent selection of different dishes, all that I tried were good. Friendly staff were attentive to my table, removing dishes and refilling drinks quickly. Definite recommendation for quick tasty lunch. Prices competitive but good value overall.

The service was extremely slow and it felt like ages ... we ordered at 410 and the food came at 5pm no kidding, we were the only table in the restaurant and we wanted to try the food and then order more if we like it as normal people do, but the second round of naan bread took half an hour to come and when told what is taking too long the server simply said we dont know how to order food in a restaurant and that we should have ordered it all together so the chef could have timed it better and now we just have to wait .. he was extremely argumentative and did not apologize at all.. the items like raita and pickle were taken away from the table WHILE we were still finishing up which was very rude I will never recommend this place.. No idea how they achieved all these good reviews but this place is a disaster in terms of customer service

Price is competitive with other similar restaurants, but the food on offer here is definitely superior. The lady who runs the place is very kind and Im definitely going to be returning here again.

Easily the best indian food in the okanagan. Try it for yourself, its a family run resteraunt so they wont be as fast as some of the other places but definitely worth the wait.

Ive tried every Indian place in Vernon, and this is my favourite! Their food is excellent. Easily THE best veggie pakoras! The family that runs it is super friendly, Im in there on occasion and they recognize me and I always feel welcome and comfortable there. Nice cozy atmosphere, so I like eating in (as well as take out), and the lunch buffet is my favourite time to go there - lots to choose from, food is great for buffet food, and its reasonably priced.

Outstanding service...unbelievable food

Service is considerably fine but the good is worse and very low standard. We were served the meat that was stale and gone bad but they come up with some silly explanations. So, definitely a big No No !

This place has fantastic food. We have been here twice now and tried different dishes each time and have not been disappointed. This is the best Indian restaurant in Vernon. They are so gracious and friendly too. Highly recommend you try.
