Utsav accommodated our large group for dinner and took excellent care of us all. Cocktails were well made but the food was the star. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, Samosas and other delicious apps.

Very delicious, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys eating food! The wait staff was very kind and attentive and the chef even came out to greet us. I was very happy to tell him that everything was amazing. We got veggie samosas, mutter paneer, and chicken tiki masala. as you can tell from the picture, we left stuffed and satisfied.

Utsav is definitely the best Indian restaurant in the area. The inside is charming and the service is every bit as good as a very high end restaurant. The cocktails are amazing with fresh ingredients and you get your money s worth with the pours! The food is incredible - I think we ve tried just about every dish on the menu and we have never had a bad experience. You can really taste the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Our favorites are Kodi Vepudu, Uppukari, and Aadu Mappas. While the food is fantastic enough to justify ordering takeout whenever you are in the mood, you should really dine in for the full experience. Whenever we go, the waitstaff is attentive and on top of everything. They will even pack you more rice for leftovers and we have gotten extra dessert when we asked to take ours home because we couldn t finish it! This place is worth every penny, I would happily drive an hour or more to have dinner here.

Wow! I m still in the restaurant and I had to make a review because of how floored I am. This is one of the most delicious meals I ve ever eaten in my life. I highly recommend the shamm savera. The sauce in there and the chicken tikka masala is incredible! The service was fantastic and they even gave us extra sauce without our asking and rice pudding. Floored all the way around. Incredible. I feel cheated out of all the time I didn t know this food existed.

Utsav is hands down the best Indian curry I ve ever had. It s always creamy and flavorful with high quality meats. This is also the only place that makes a consistently delicious mango lassi. Service is always impeccable!

I love this restaurant! Whenever I visit Ct and get together with my high school friends, we have to visit here. The food is always amazing, staff is so awesome, and all around great place to eat. The korma is amazing! Naan, samosas, mango lassi, and ooo their mojitos! Yummm I wish I lived closer so I can be a regular! Highly recommend them.

Excellent in every way! I have been looking for an authentic Indian restaurant and this is it. If you like your food on the spicier side, mention when you order as the default is mild. The masala chai is wonderful. Garlic naan is the best I ve had.

Such good food, weve now been many times and keep trying new things. Staff is courteous and happy to answer our questions. Love how colorful and comfortable the Vernon location is. This is a great destination for something different, or on the regular!

Utsav s cuisine is consistently high quality, flavorfully spiced to order, and reasonably priced. Service is prompt, accomodating and engaging.

Take-out here is always good, but dining in is a real treat! Food and cocktails are top notch but the service is the real standout- very fast and courteous. I recommend the murgh shahi khorma, sabji platter, and onion kulcha.

They should be ashamed to provide such low quality food while charging premium prices. Food was honestly so bad I had to go home to remake it. I ordered two curries, one tasted like half a bag of frozen vegetables dumped into a pre made sauce and the other had 4 dry chicken chunks in the same pre made sauce. I am not sure how this restaurant got so many good reviews but I have been to many better indian restaurants in the area for a fraction of the cost. Just terrible, ruined my week.

Many people think Indian food is all too spicy and is all very curry forward. Not true at all! If youre looking for authentic South Indian, high quality meals, this is the place. Food and service are superior in every way. The staff will help you select choices and spice levels to suit your likes and needs. Having special dietary needs met is quite easy here. I am gluten free and pesacaterian and find fining here not only easy but delicious! While the space lends itself easily to a quiet, romantic dinner, it can also accommodate a larger party or just a fun meal with a few friends.

I went here with my girlfriend recently. This is one of the best Indian restaurants Ive ever been to. The food was immaculate, and the service was friendly, and very attentive.

Excellent food and phenomenal service, our server made sure we were taken care of the entire time, I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and the chicken was cooked perfectly, the rice mixed with the sauce and chicken was so delicious, highly recommend this place!

Brought my Dad here for dinner and it was excellent. Ordered a Andhra Chili Chicken, and he had a Shrimp dish. I love spicy food, so when asked, I said on the spicy side. White boy didnt know what he was getting into! Was almost painfully spicy, yet still great. The mango lassie might be the best drink Ive ever had. Waitstaff was incredibly attentive, as I needed that water glass filled frequently! Only issue was the prices. Including tip, dinner for two with no dessert or alcohol came to $100. I dont think Ive ever paid that much in my life. There were Indian families eating there, which is usually a good sign that you are at the quality Indian restaurant. You get what you pay for, and the service was better than Im used to. If it were more affordable, Id plan to return sooner.

As of the time of this review, this place is a 4.2 on Google. This place should not be rated a 4.2. They are an easy 5 stars for me. This place has a wide variety of delicious food that is served beautifully. It feels and tastes like upscale indian food, and the prices match that. It is a little pricey, but you get great service and food for that price. I would definitely go again.

This is the place I go to when I crave Indian food. Its really truly delicious!

Picked up some take out on my way back to central CT. from a trip up to Westfield Mass. this evening. Whoever is cooking the chicken is an absolute master. Had the Chettinad Chicken, which was very flavorful with a rich peppercorn sauce. Artful. The good size chunks of chicken were perfectly cooked. Flaky, but firm, very moist, and possibly the best chunks of chicken Ive ever had at any Indian restaurant, and honestly I have gone to many of the best Indian restaurants in New England and New York. The flavors in the sauce were complex and totally authentic... quite amazing. Also had the Garlic Chicken appetizer. Again, exceptional. Rich spicy and garlicky sauce over fried beautiful smaller pieces of chicken tossed with almonds and green herbs. Talk about flavor! Wow! Lastly, had some of their rice pudding dessert. You can tell a lot about the sensitivity of a chef by the homemade desserts in a restaurant. The rice pudding is also outstanding. Perfectly sweet, not overly, and excellent texture and overall taste. Well done Utsav. And kudos to the master in the kitchen. Very impressed.

I ordered takeout for a group of friends and arrived at Utsavs for 6:15 as I was told it would be ready by 6:20. Unfortunately I didnt get the food until 6:45. The food was solid enough but it felt mildly overpriced. The price, along with the delay, didnt leave a great impression. Cant comment on the dining-in experience but Im sure it would be better.

Absolutely delicious! 10 out of 10 recommend! I was visiting friends in Ellington and they took us here for dinner and I was blown away. The Tiki Masala was amazing and so flavorful. The garlic naan and the cheese naan blew me out of the water. They re definitely on the pricier side but you can easily get 2 meals out of 1 entree. Will be coming back when I m in town again!

Prices are RIDICULOUS. Theres a reason they dont put the prices online, its $25+ per entree dish. Prices should be legitimately 50% less than what they charge, theres hardly any meat and with small portions. You can make 10x this portion at home for 20% of the cost; skip this restaurant and look up a recipe instead. I attached a paper menu for reference .

Visited on a weekday for dinner and was also a frequent visitor back in 2016. However was in for a sticker shock with avg dish priced at $23. The portions do not justify the price. The prices here are 2 times when compared to Spice Venue which is located in prime downtown area. For a family of 4 we were provided with just 2 dinner plates. They have a ridiculous policy of one dinner plate per entree.Most pathetic experience in sharing 2 dinner plates amongst 4 persons as we did not consider it wise shelling out $5 per extra plate. Would not recommend this place given much better options at half the prices in the vicinity. The ambience is also very stuffy with too dim lights. All in all a very forgettable experience.

Id avoided Utsav for years because of a bad prior experience where I had to wait more than 45 minutes extra in the restaurant (>2 hrs from when I ordered). This time I walked in to order and the wait was less than 15 minutes total. Food was great, (Recommend Butter Chicken). Pricey in comparison to another excellent Indian place I visit ($25 here vs. $16 there), but its close to home and I will visit again.

I feel like I had some kind of religious food experience eating at Utsav. The Chicken Tikka Masala is otherworldly. The prices seem high at around $25 a dish but theres at least 3 portions inside. The flavor is exceptional. I highly recommend the Lamb Samosa as well. :)

Amazing experience every single time! The food is insanely delicious, the staff is so kind and very attentive, food comes out quickly and they have a full bar! The cheese naan is out of this world and the Amchuri Murgh is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Also, they re very accommodating with spice levels - I m personally very sensitive to spice but the mild flavor is not spicy at all! Meanwhile my boyfriend is a spice fanatic and Utsav never fails to make him sweat! You can easily tell them exactly how spicy you want it and they will not disappoint. Highly highly recommend trying!

I was a little skeptical at first when I called in to order, because it was quite expensive. But once we got the food we were so impressed! We eat a lot of Indian food and this has by far been the best. Absolutely worth the price. Could not recommend more.

So probably the worst chicken tikka masala I have ever tasted. We ordered it as spicy and we got the same old tomato paste with a lot of sugar in it. It was literally like a desert ! the rice that came with it was dry and coarse. Stay away this is not Indian food !! Also double check prices as they charge at will ! This is my go-to location for Indian food. I have not been disappointed in the almost 7-years (really!? Just doing the math now, wow. Time flies..). I haven t dined-in there much since COVID but I order for pick up. Food is always hot by the time I get back to my place (about 15-20mins out). Lamb pasanda, goat curry, navaratan khorma, lasuni gobi, mango lassi, tandori, lamb samosa I have many favorites from their menu. I typically order an appetizer like lasuni gobi and an entree. With their portion size I tend to have leftovers for a couple more meals. Only thing I miss is the raisins in the rice, but I ve made peace with the fact that maybe not everyone is about that life so I add my own nowadays. Vegetarian options: They have a whole selection of foods for vegetarian options.

This restaurant is a monthly delight. I bring my girlfriend here on date nights because of the exceptional service and mouth watering Indian cuisine. We try different meals each time and have never been disappointed. The exceptional table-side cocktail service is like nowhere else! I feel like I am receiving VIP service as if I am family. There is always tasty leftovers for the next day.

Joe was the owner of the restaurant. He was kind and courteous and it was honestly the best Indian food I have had my entire life. He works hard, attends to customers and make sure that the food is top quality. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants Indian food.

Phenomenal food only surpassed by the stellar service. We regret we have taken so long to visit - going to the top of our restaurants to frequent. Only a few miles from I-84 exit - food so good that it s worth your while if traveling through to stop for a meal.

Went here for dinner and ordered chicken tikka masala along with garlic naan. The gravy was sweet and was not like an indian curry. It was sweet and tomato base used for curry was like ketchup. Havent ever had Indian Food in New England this good! Utsav is perfect for introducing a new food palate to those who wish for an appealing trip to a distinct faraway Culture. A bit pricey, but the quality meets the level along with the Staff.

Incredibly expensive, food lacked taste and flavor except for malai kofta, and proportions were small. Ordered papad and it was stale and so asked for new batch and instead they warmed it up on the stove and gave it back. It was still stale. Will not return to this establishment.

We have been eating here since 2002, and its still the best Indian cuisine weve ever had. Its not cheap, but good food shouldnt be.

Overall this was a good restaurant. The service was outstanding and the menu offered lots of options. I was hoping for Dosa but it was not on the menu. My dish was tasty but slightly sweet which was unexpected. The Naan was disappointing as it did not taste like it was prepared in a Tandoor oven. Is was dense and a bit doughy. The desert was excellent.

I live in NJ, 3 hours drive from Utsav. I like to think that I am familiar with Indian cuisine (I live near enough to Edison, NJ). Whenever I need to go to MA, I try to stop at Utsav for a meal because the food is lovely and the menu is very varied. Plus it is handy to I-84.

Dishonest business owner(s)!! Stop putting price on their website because they secretly increase their menu price (price gouging). I put up their latest menu, beware to check the price before you decide to order.
