Excellent food and sushi.

Really nice service and delicious food! I would recommend to spin the rolls tighter to prevent rice in rolls from falling apart. But that it just knit picking. We got our order really quickly less than in 20 minutes. We ordered Lunch Bento Box, NY rolls, Dynamite rolls and white wine. It was right enough for two persons and we left the restaurant absolutely happy!

We love the sushi pizza. Had the dinner bento box which was more than enough. Its a small place so arrive early or make a reservation. Very good service and great food.

Very good value, quality and family run restaurant. We will be back for sure!

Mahoroba is a great local Japanese restaurant. Theyve been doing takeout only (no dine in or delivery during covid). We managed to get a bento box, yakisoba, and yam rolls all for 30 bucks. The food all tasted really good. The portions made us full (almost too full). We were both very happy with our meals. Staff also let us refill our water bottle which is awesome.

Spicy tuna roll was a strange mushy baby food texture, spider roll was very different and no flavour, noodle salad was sour .

Weve been going to this place for years and its amazing. They have the best miso soup in town, and there sushi rolls are great. I cannot stress how much I love this place, which has been a second home to me for years.

Their gyoza, tempura and sushi were all delicious! The beef udon, however, was a total disappointment; the broth was flavorless, the beef was chewy and tough, and the tofu (I think it was tofu) was spongy on the inside and soggy on the outside. I would absolutely eat here again, I just wont be getting the udon again.

Still only doing take out, but its ok. You can sit outside of the restaurant where the road is blocked and have nice picnic table. Food was good. We ordered Bento box and it fed both me and my husband. Only problem was, my husband does not eat raw fish and I am pregnant. So we specifically asked them to make Nigiri with only cooked items. 3 out of 4 were cooked Nigiri but they did put one Shrimp that was still raw. That is why had to give them only 4 stars... :(

Local Restaurant with lots of yummy items to offer , great vegan options ! Best in town for sushi and noodles bowls etc. Ive been coming here since I was a young teen with my friends and we wouldnt go anywhere else .. the family is so kind , and they truely put so much love into every meal they create. Always fast , always on time , and never a mistake ! I wouldnt reccomened anywhere else to go ! Mahoroba has my heart. Also... BEST AVOCADO ROLLS IVE EVER HAD , always so perfect and so delicious!

After having phone troubles of some kind for many months they seem to have gotten it figured out and I havent had any trouble at all ordering from them for at least a year now. Easily the best Japanese place in town, a favorite in our family!

This food was terrible zero flavour and the prawn for my dynamite rolls were certainly not cooked on this day! Gyoza was sooo bad it is a green paste inside of the whole wheat casing

Take out only right now, but was able to order in store. Quoted 20 min till it would be ready so me and hubby just walked around downtown vernon before sitting at a picnic table set up in the closed off part of the road. Our 20 min wasnt even up before the person who rung us up magically appeared by our table with the food! What great and unexpected costumer service. The food was also absolutely delicious. 100% recommend.

I have eaten at this establishment several times with good experience. Tonight ...food was terrible. Sushi was off other roll simply fell apart. Guoza was burnt on one side and my soup was awful. I called the owner to let them know. The management said they will refund my money and they would appreciate that I not use there buisness ever again. Really... if this is how you prepare food then I wont be spending my money at your business. If this is how you treat your customers I would never recommend anyone to use your business. There are plenty of other Japanese restaurants and word of mouth goes along in Vernon. Maharoba your lack of quality and ridiculous customer service there will not be a next time.

My favourite Japanese restaurant in town. Consistently delicious for as long as I can remember. Authentic and fresh. Highly recommend a lunch bento. Only place I know that includes kakiage tempura. Oyakodon is another fav.

Tried for the first time last night, absolute worst sushi Ive had to date, had to throw out majority of it and got ill from what I did ingest.

Best Japanese restaurant from here to the coast. Hands down. Everything made in house(no frozen ). If you go here, which you must, order the Maharoba roll.

Very nice staff, cozy place. Unfortunately for people like me who avoid sugar, virtually every dish, from plain rice to egg sushi, to most of the sauces, to tofu is actually soaking in liquid sugar. My wife and friends like it, and there are good size portions, but it is actually really unhealthy from that perspective. I felt ill from it both times I ate there. Sugar is a huge contributor to cancer. Its time to stop pretending, folks.

Went for a weekend lunch. Service was very friendly and attentive and food came out relatively quickly. We tried the karaage chicken, vegetable bento and beef bento and everything was delicious. Felt like we were back in Japan!

I just had their tuna sashimi and honestly it was probably the best tuna sashimi I have ever had! It didnt have a gross fishy taste, it tasted very fresh! I will absolutely buy there again!

Best sushi in town! My 4 year old has been eating her since she was 1 and its her favourite place. The staff are so nice (they know my kids regular order) and the food is always fresh and delicious.

Mahoroba Japanese Restaurant is my first choice for Japanese cuisine in Vernon. Great miso soup, sushi, sashimi, tempura.. Everything is the authentic flavours that I remember from Kobe, Osaka, Tokyo.

The sushi is incredible here. Some of the best sushi I have had. I love coming here, the service is so friendly too! You can tell they work so hard. Any time you ask for something they run to get it. They really appreciate customer service and providing a nice experience. The spicy tuna roll is among the best I have had

we are friends with TOJO (if you know you know) because mom and dads best friends are a Polish/Japanese couple... and apart from the T man in Vancouver who is authentic and legit REAL japanese food, my parents swear by this place. Its fresh fish and thats the basis of any really good Japanese food, the staff are friendly too

When I was staying in Vernon for a month, I was missing Japanese food so I tried this restaurant and it was really good. I probably go there twice a week (lol) Recommended. It has a nice atmosphere and also sells Japanese beer.

Best sushi in Vernon, if not the entire Okanagan! The family that owns it/staff are always friendly, and the sushi is always yummy and fresh! I have never been disappointed. I cant get enough of the tempura yam roll! Not to mention the prices are refreshingly reasonable. During peak times there can be a bit of a wait for seating or takeout, understandably so, but its worth it. Dont miss out on this gem!

Excellent quality Japanese food. Ive personally experienced real Japanese food prepared by native cooks and Mahoroba certainly offers authentic Japanese cuisine. My husband and I have been regulars since 2009 and we love it. Try the bento box, its a good value option with great variety of taste. Best in town.

Best sushi ever, this place is must to visit.

Pretty surprised that Vernon had this hidden gem for Japanese food. We visited this restaurant 4 straight days in our vacation and was happy with their food and service every time.

I absolutely love Mahoroba. The food and service is above and beyond. Going in to eat there is limited seating but the service is great. Also depending on when you call, you can get a pick up order for a reasonable time for pick up so long as its not during busy hours. By far the best sushi I have had, for an awesome price. They are local, so why not support a local business!

Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in the Okanagan. If you are looking for authentic quality Japanese food this is the place to be. The sushi in particular is some of the best sushi that you will find in BC. It is fresh, and made very well. Ive been to more Japanese restaurants than I can remember and have lived in Japan, and I dont hesitate to say that Mahoroba is one of the best places that I have been too. The food is delicious and the staff are as friendly as ever. I definitely recommend Mahoroba!
