The service and the food is outstanding. Each parking behind the Med. certainly going back again soon.

Lamb was a little chewy but other than that things were really good excellent server

Food was above expectations and Adam was a fantastic server.

Went for the mussel special...disappointed that mussels were so small. Rest of meal very tasty. Expensive for what we got but an experience

Extremely cool space modern contemporary! The service by Grace was outstanding. She was there whenever anything was needed , but didnt hover around. The food was alright, nothing to write home about. I would reccomend this place if you are looking for nice ambience.

The food was good; the braised beef was served with gnocchi. The crème brûlée would have been better if served fresh, but it was still enjoyable. The waiters were extremely kind and helpful.

We asked for a quiet table and were seated in an EMPTY restaurant with all other customers. Appetizers were tiny and expensive. 3 of our meals had little to no chicken or seafood, { we couldnt see it} in them, one was brought to the table late and wrong, then taken away and replaced 10 minutes later with just a sorry. This restaurant is in decline judging by our last very good visits. We have brought out off town visitors here before, never again. Its one thing to have an expensive meal but be satisfied, quite another to walk away unsatisfied and even thinking Ive been ripped off! For $250 plus I expect a proper meal and service!

Although the food is on the pricier side, the Marrakesh bowl was excellent. The flavours were unique, and very tasty at the same time. Extra bonus was that the meal was also dairy free which made things very easy.

The server was very good, food was also great, decorating eclectic but well done, server took time to give short history. You can tell its locally owned. Well done

After having the the seafood platter a few times now from the Med this time was quite disappointing. Spending $100+ for two seafood platters I would expect that 1/4 of the plate is not soggy French fries. The quality of this meal has gone down hill, as the sea food portion is a lot less than previous times I have ordered it. A very a poor effort in filling up an expensive dish with below average fast food. Will not be purchasing this again and would not recommend to anyone.

The same meal states different every time. Depends who the chef is for the evening. Any chicken meal you order, is steamed chicken with a thin sauce on top. I ve given this place a chance 5 times. Each time I m disappointed. Not going back.

Update jan 2023 been here a couple times since the first review. Once again a nice meal. This is the most attractive restaurant in vernon to my eye. The food is also very nice, not spectacular, but definitely one of the best in Vernon. Paella could stand more hest and flavor pops for me. Lobster gnocci was a rich dish and enjoyed by my bride. Tried the coconut shimp to start, a nice portion for two to share. Had a very nice meal. Really really enjoyed the heat of the prawn saganaki appetizer. Couple cool martinis to wash them down. The paella and firecracker shrimp linguine both fell a little flat on the flavor scale. Still a very nice meal and real close to 5 stars. Will be back to enjoy the service and atmosphere, trying some other dishes.

Great relaxing atmosphere with an artistic touch! Had a spectacular date night with great food and friendly service. The only thing we had difficulties with was picking something off the menu when it all sounds so amazing. Cant wait to go back to try more!

Our friends treated us to dinner. The ambiance is very nice and was packEd for a Wednesday nite. It s not a big place and is well decorated. Food was delicious. Service was good except we had to asked for ice three times before it was delivered.Will be going there again as it s very good. Parking: We parked at the library as free after 6:00 pm

Delightful eatery with a friendly team serving excellent food. Highly recommended. The paella was especially delicious, and all portion sizes were manageable, with the focus on flavour, not volume. Parking: Large lot directly behind restaurant.

Great service from Madi and delicious food. Great happy hour too. Some of the items came a bit cold so bringing the food out as it s ready would be good but seriously great service and flavors. Make sure to try the truffle fries and ask for Madi to be your server! She s excellent. Great happy hour deals too

Booked a table here for our anniversary and Im so happy I did. We came in a bit earlier than our reservation time but we were still accommodated and seated right away. Had a nice window booth. Was served water right away. Our waitress was just perfect. Got our drink orders, served us bread and came back with perfect timing to get our order. The bartender makes mean drinks! The bread was fresh and its a good serving considering its free! Ordered the popular truffle fries and oh my goodness the rumor is true, best truffle fries Ive had and its super affordable compared to other places. Couldnt not stop eating the ceasar salad either. Hubby got the top sirloin steak and I got the duck and we are both very happy diners. The spices and seasoning are just right. The place itself has lots of character and cozy. Recommend it whenever in Vernon! Will be back for sure.

Excellent restaurant - exceptional food with a wide variety of choice. Wonderful decor, and we had a table with lots of room - very comfortable. Server was new to the profession, but was courteous.

A group of 8 of us had a wonderful experience there. We were impressed right off the bat when they were willing to accommodate a party of our size on short notice even though they had to rearrange tables. Our server was wonderful and very helpful. None of us had been there before, so he got a barrage of questions from us but answered them all with ease. He was on top of our drink orders and also had some great suggestions. The meal arrived after the perfect amount of time, we enjoyed our visit and the bread served as we waited. The food was just awesome, we each had our favorites. Between us, we ordered; the bison rib eye, the seafood platter, the scallops, the fire cracker shrimp linguine, the chorizo flambee, the paella and the meat and cheese tray. My least favorite was the paella, but there wasnt anything wrong with it, just not to personal taste as it had a strong seafood flavor. The bison rib eye was cooked perfectly and the optional side of mushroom sauce went with it perfectly. All in all we ate every last bite at the table and left very very happy. The martinis were delicious as well. The espresso martini and the bongo were my favorite

I am a big seafood fan so I was excited when my husband and I finally got a date night! We ordered the seafood platter and the classic mussels. Wow. Wow!! So good! Everything was cooked so well and the waiter was very attentive! I am so glad we decided to come here to enjoy a date night because they blew my expectations out of the water!

The food was great and the atmosphere was neat but being a Greek restaurant, you d think they would serve Ouzo. Could ve been 5 stars but only made it to 4.

This was the worst meal I have had in a very long time, had the chicken souvlaki, it was terrible, and management took no responsibility at all will never go back and would advise you not to go

Had a family get together here with a party of 14 and had a nice private room to accommodate all of us which was perfect. Everything here from the decor to the food was upscale and refined. Everyone at the table had dishes that not only tasted fantastic but were plated beautifully. Service was excellent and we felt well taken care of. I highly recommend the duck breast as it was cooked to perfection

Great restaurant. Open later than those in the surrounding area. Fantastic server. Food was good if a bit overpriced (ie goat cheese salad was DELICIOUS but teeny tiny) - Great ambiance as well! Bill came to about $200 for 3 people.

My girlfriend and I went out to celebrate the purchase of her new car. This is the second time I have been to the MED once for a work function, and this is the other the food was fantastic both times. With my work group, I had the bison ribeye, and we also shared a lot of apps. Everything was on point. Steak was cooked perfectly, and service was attentive. I had nothing but good things to say. But today, I believe the service could have been improved to be on par with the amazing food. My girlfriend had the lobster Gnocchi well I had the chicken peri peri both dishes where amazing. The server we had was just not very friendly and interactive, which is a big reason my girlfriend and I are willing to pay hard earned money is not only for the food but also for the experience. Long storie short, I would definitely give the MED a chance very good food but could work on service. Vegetarian options: Myself I am not a vegetarian, but the menu did have some options listed.

I ordered the gnocchi and my husband the chicken, and it unfortunately was just not good. My gnocchi was not cooked correctly and my husbands was very bland. Was very disappointed especially at this price point.

Must have been an off night there service was extremely slow. Waited over an hour for our dinner. The Bangkok noodles were very soupy and bland. The gnocchi was not great. I know this restaurant can be good- hope this food and wait doesn t happen regularly.

Had an amazing birthday meal here with a great friend. Food was absolutely incredible, as were both our drinks. Our server was very friendly. My only complaint was the restaurant was VERY warm inside. Granted, it was like 40° outside, so likely no fault of their own. Would recommend 10/10.

Totally loved this place from the atmosphere to the food . We ended up ordering Italian food. We are very picky about Italian food as we have Italian heritage and the best Italian is at home but this is next to the best. We reserved for 5:30 pm and not too long after the place started filling up . Our waitress was attentive but didn t hover. Allowing us to enjoy our meal and conversation . We will go back!

The food is really good. The service slow, which was surprising as they werent packed. The atmosphere is really nice.

Super unique place with passionate foodies. Not sure how they set up shop in Vernon, but its definitely a hidden gem; not super well known, but really great. Good selection of wine, meats prepared expertly, and the best chocolate mousse (possibly in the world). Seriously though, its almost a torte!!!

We don t get to the Med that often but when we go it s always first class .Food was excellent as always and the service was fabulous. Great atmosphere there. Highly recommended as a place to go to.

Nice ambiance (décoration/music), very friendly staff, delicious food. I went just after 6pm without reservation and they were able to accommodate me. I think I was lucky because after I got in people started to arrive. I tried the Tuscan porc (porc chop with gnocchi and mushrooms), and I was surprised how tender and flavorful it was! (hit: sous vide), and the size of the portion (I couldnt finish the gnocchi). Cost before tip including a beer on tap and taxes was $50.15 Parking wise, the street parking was full but there is a parking lot just at the back that was free (after 6pm).

Our food was absolutely impeccable. Our server Adam was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend The Med to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience.

Thought the Med was going to be all Mediterranean so came in expecting Greek but instead its an eclectic menu ranging from paella to jerk pork. Jumbo prawns were delicious. Fairly priced. Large portions, recommend sharing dishes family style.

The decor is nice. Thats where the positives end. The food here is not good. My wife and I ordered a nice steak and full seafood platter. The steak was cooked medium well (we asked for medium rare) and it tasted bland. The seafood platter was also bland, and it comes with rice....not rice with spices or soy sauce, just bland plain white rice. There wasnt a single bite I thought this tastes great. Maybe our experience was just a fluke, but we wont be returning.

The restaurant wouldn t accept my American vaccine passport as if the rest of BC hasn t had a problem with it. When I asked the manager why they couldnt accept it she replied I don t know staff lacks competence and common sense. I thought this was a restaurant not a circus very displeased by the unprofessionalism.

I never been to a restaurant like this, this place is amazing. We forgot to make a reservation because we weren t sure if we had to but next time we will, this place fills up quickly. the waitress still seated us and mentioned she needed the table by 6 something which was okay because we were charging our car. The food was amazing, service was prompt. Atmosphere was relax and personal. I d recommend to anyone wanting a special night with your significant other or a night out with you friends.

We had an amazing dinner last night. We have tried numerous times to just walk in and get a table. It has been a no-go each time because they are packed!! Thats a good sign for a restaurant. Last night was a reopening of Monday night dinners. Phew! We made a reservation like we should have been doing all along. We were satin a nice quiet corner and had an absolutely AMAZING dinner. We loved the service, the ambiance, the cool music, the wine, and the dinner was done to perfection.

One of Vernons best restaurants

We were a table of two. The food was excellent. Great variety and wonderful flavour. The service was a little disappointing. A larger group arrived just after us and perhaps ordered quickly which filled the kitchen. Nonetheless, our wine was slow and sat on the bar counter until the bar tender overheard our discussion of whether we should just pick up the glass and she served it. We waited close to an hour for our main. They may be short staffed, but our server was not shy about promoting his excellent skills. Perhaps hes not as great as he thinks...

Dinner for four Thursday night, the place was hoping! Fortunately we had a reservation and were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and the food was served in the appropriate amount of time after arriving. We all ordered different dishes and each came to the table beautifully presented and so delicious, we were all very impressed. Our guest from out of town ate there 3 night in a row and his riding group he was with all came and said everything was so good. They all came from Vancouver, so they know good dinning, we were delighted to share this gem with them in our wonderful little town.

Excellent food, knowledgeable and helpful staff, good ambiance -- having not had visited for a few years, I like the new interior. Bear in mind, it is pricey.

The selection of dishes and quality of food was excellent. The wine list was also well done. I had the duck and we paired it with a lovely Carmenere for the table. Great spot for a celebratory dinner. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality.

Have been coming here for a few years now and just really needed to sit and write this review. The staff have always made us feel like family when we come in, the food has always been amazing and the wine list is pretty impressive. Recently they have added a new chef to the kitchen and I must say that she has taken the classic Med menu and made some small changes to the dishes and I cannot say how amazing everything has been so far. Do not miss out a chance to come here whether its for a special occasion or just for a night out.

What a little gem. Surprised and happy we found this place for our last dinner while in Vernon for vacation. Im a Chef from Calgary and I was so pleased with our experience at The Med. First off, the menu is outstanding. I wanted to try every dish on it. Our server was really top notch. Friendly, fast, and attentive. We got the crab cakes and chorizo dishes to start, along with the fire cracker shrimp linguini and Spanish paella for our mains. Everything was great and the portions are quite generous. My only criticism is that everything in the paella was just a little overcooked, both rice and seafood.

I had the paella for 42 dollars and it was terrible and my wife had salmon for 32 dollars and it was over cooked and bland tasting we certainly wont be back that is for sure even if it was free.

We were there around 10 am, and there were maybe 5 pastries left. Staff were nice and friendly, but spent a lot of time with a dog that was brought in. I did not see them wash their hands after that....

If you are looking for a one of a kind dining experience in Vernon, look no further than The Med . I used to love cactus club truffle fries more than anything, then I had them here at the med and I can assure you cactus club does not even come close to the quality here. We ordered several of their dishes and could not believe how delicious every single one was. Me and my family had amazing dinner and service. We are a group of 10 and they gave us the semi private room.

Great restaurant, friendly staff, good food. However when I went, there was no beer, no bread and no mussels. I hope this is just a one-time issue and not a recurring one.

Went here on a whim while passing by to visit family. We haven t had such an amazing culinary experience in such a long time. Every dish was exactly as described and we literally felt like we were on a European food tour!

First off, the place is classy and modern. Second, the food is excellent - delicious and well presented. Finally, the staff are amazing - professional and so friendly. What a great find! So grateful it is here in Vernon.

Had an amazing meal last night at the Med in Vernon, the food was awesome as always. Just a couple of things I would do to get for a 5* rating, please recover the torn booth seats. Duct tape really doesnt cut it in an top tier restaurant guys, and consider using filtered or bottled water at the table, not straight of of the tap. Cheap fixes to raise the bar!

Everything was excellent! If you order the Piri piri chicken and like spicy, make sure you get some extra sauce, yum!

We had a great dinner here. The waiter was amazing. Super personable.

The service, and the meals were excellent! The coconut shrimp was the best I ve tasted. My husband had the pork, and I had the roast lamb. The portions were a good size. Everything was very good! Dietary restrictions: I have an onion allergy that I told the restaurant about when I reserved. When we arrived, they had many of the items on the menu ready for me to pick from. It was awesome that I had a choice of items without onions!

My wife and I were checking out some spots to try for Italian food. Saw that they had some really great pasta options on there menu and decided to come in and give it a try. We were blown away with great service and amazing pasta. Would highly recommend to anyone passing that lives in Vernon or is passing through to come and try them out. I had a prawn dish that was loaded with prawns and the wife had a mushroom chicken dish. Both were super tasty without being overwhelming! We will be back to try other options on the menu!

I had never been here before, but it was a great experience overall. The menu has great selection and the cozy, classy atmosphere is very special. It feels cozy inside, but not in an uncomfortable way. Loved the meal I received, will definitely be returning for another visit.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here tonight for my hubby s 55th birthday. Lots of gluten-free options for him to enjoy which we always appreciate. We shared the scallop and the calamari appies. The scallop texture was fantastic but the portion was small and the chorizo on top was lacking in spice, texture and flavour. The calamari were lost in the tomato sauce and again, no spice. Hubby had the Bison Ribeye that was as good as any steak we ve ever had so big thumbs up on that! I had the venison which while tender was a little lacking in flavour despite the blueberry coulis. Props to the scalloped potato side dish but I would have liked a steamed veggie on the side. The root veggie side dish looks a lot like yam fries and should be cut a little smaller to retain their crispy texture - a creamy garlic side sauce would really add to that as well. We loved our friendly and knowledgeable server Marta and the cool jazz music really added to the vibe. So much to like here and I wanted to give it 5 stars but there are a few flavour obstacles that need to be overcome.

Its a fresh approach to takeout that makes you feel like you are dining right in the restaurant but from the comfort of your own home. This is a great option during COVID. DELICIOUS!

The customer service was exceptional! The food, well, Im a little envious of my family member that got to eat here, as they said it was delicious! Fabulous meal.

Stopped in for lunch as we are from out of town. My realtor recommended it. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere and decor was playful and whimsical. Good music in the background, not too loud. Food was great. I had a Mediterranean salad with prawns, and my wife had the cioppino with muscles. Something quick and light. Had a nice glass of wine with it. The waitress was talkative and friendly. 0 complaints.

Used the med express. Unfortunately they didnt receive my order but they were really apologetic about it and had it ready in less than 15 mins. The food was so easy to prepare, just boil in bag and serve. Really delicious

Meh... chewy steaks, OK pasta, steak served with a piece of baguette instead of layered potatoes mentioned on the menu. When asked about the potatoes, waiter said they would be extra. It is seldom that a dinner steak is served with a piece of garlic bread. If this is the best in Vernon, I dont date to try the rest. You have to be desperate to call that food delicious

If you ever get the opportunity to - go here! We were visiting from Vancouver and this was one of the best meal and restaurant experiences weve had in years. Food was incredible, our server Adam and the rest of the staff were SO accommodating and authentically friendly, and the decor was both classy and intriguing. Would rate it even higher if I could, what a place.

When i complained to the rude owner i was promised a free dinner, but that offer was pulled back when i tried to make a reservation 6month later with the reasoning that it was an offer based on keeping a returning customer, not for someone that only comes in 1 a year.

Absolutely top drawer! My spouse and I, along with my mom, went for a meal on saturday August 7, 2021. These were the most perfectly cooked prawns that I think Ive ever had. Perfect, absolutely perfect. I cant get there in my own kitchen. Similarly the calamari, .... Amazing. Wonderful. These were not a breaded thing, they were absolutely luxurious. We also had a chorizo that was done as a flambe at the table. We followed up with a couple of orders of mussels. To those of you reading, Im a foodie, Im not always eating the very best things, but Ive eaten at some really great places. Im not afraid to spend a bit extra if its really good. This was... really... really. good. Id be back in a heartbeat, and look forward to some exploration of the rest of their menu.

Awesome service! our server was beyond awesome! I forgot her name (the one who lives in Salmon arm ) .. It is a high end restaurant with nice decor. My paella was extraordinary well executed and the crab cakes were awesome. Nice selection of BC wines and cocktails. I would love to come back.

Went to The Med for the first time yesterday. What an awesome restaurant! It has a great atmosphere, friendly prompt service,the prices were reasonable and the food was great. We live in Kamloops but will definitely be back to The Med should we find the opportunity! Great Restaurant! Pascal D.

I used to go there just on special occasions as it is a higher end restaurant. I have little kids so my dining experiences are more often limited to Daddy we want spaghetti! so it is really nice to have really nice meal in a place with a peaceful and upscale vibe. The seafood paella is my go to dish, and I occasionally branch out. Yet to be disappointed by any choice. I have been going more regularly now and enjoying some great happy hour deals.

The Med is a great before-concert dinner spot as well as a leisurely, classy lunch. Service is friendly and efficient, cocktails are tasty and the wine list is decent. Weve enjoyed their salmon, piri piri chicken, venison, french fries, mussels, paella; all were well-prepared and tasty. The interior of the restaurant feels cozy and special. We were there last week and are going back again tonight.

We were a group of three dined-in tonight with an appointment 15 mins ahead of time because we were just arrived the town after a long drive. The young gentleman waiter was very nice but the woman with tattoo on her legs wasn t. The woman was our waitress. We got seated and got the manual right after we were in at 8:06, but got served (had a glass of water and made orders) like 20-30 mins after, and we got the bread and appetizer around 1 hr later. We understood that during the long weekend the tables were almost fully booked and service would not be as fast as usual. But we didn t expect to not getting the main dish more than 30 mins after the appetizer were served. We saw the woman talking with the tables around us but not us, felt really not being respected like just being thrown at the dark corner (we were actually sitting at the corner table). I saw on google, the restaurant was close at 10 pm but until 9:30, we still didn t see our main dishes. So I decided to talk to their manager (not sure but I saw the young gentleman staff said goodbye to him and left), he said they won t throw us on the street. Finally we got the main dish at 10:06 right after I talked to their manager when the restaurant was almost empty. Can t understand why it took so long to get the main dish after the starter was served. We observed the store owner (I guess he is, as he drank beer in the store with the uniform during operation hour but nobody stopped him) was staring at me for a few times and he didn t talk anything which I felt a bit awkward when I was dining. At the end we finished our dinner at 10:36 pm which was way beyond our expectation. The foods were excellent that I can rate it with five stars (the mussels were fresh, duck wings were less juicy tho, the lamp didn t have the unpleasant gamey taste/smell), but the service worth minus two stars. I am not sure if this is because we didn t make an appointment earlier (but I called and the young man said there is one table can serve with us) or we are being Asian or what, this is the worst service/experience I got so far. I have been to Vancouver, Whistler, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff, Revelstoke, Kamloops, non of the restaurant or anything provided services like this. BTW, I have been to restaurants in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff, the staff were all wearing mask all the time but not here at the med. Maybe in AB there are by law requirements but not BC.

They have food for your stomach

The wait staff were not wearing masks and it made me very uncomfortable and worried for both our health and theirs. All of the staff weren t wearing masks and so my guess is this is something management has told them to do. They were using this drop zone extra table at the end, but this is an airborne infection that travels quickly inside. Please let your staff wear masks. The food was great but the worry about everyone s health overshadowed that. (For context, someone else was taking us out to dinner, so it would have been rude to leave, but if I was on my own I would have.)

We were only in Vernon 2 nights and dined here for both dinners because it was so good. You could tell the mussels were fresh, and the sauces were delicious, we tried 3 of the 4 options. We also had the scallop & chorizo appy and calamari - both very delicious and cooked perfectly. For entrees we had the lobster penne - extremely flavourful sauce with chunks of lobster; the seafood paella - packed full of fresh, perfectly cooked seafood and also the bison ribeye with mushroom cream sauce.. again perfectly cooked and incredibly flavourful! Friendly wait staff, let us choose where we wanted to sit, they had a system in place to social distance - an all round great experience. Only wish this restaurant was in our home town!

Went to the Med recently to celebrate my partners birthday. Adam was our server and he gave great service, his reccomendations for both food and drink were exactly to our taste. The food was stellar and the atmosphere was beautiful. We will definitely be back!
