8 of us showed up unannounced and apologetic, and the gentleman that greeted us (the owner?) was incredibly accommodating. Our order was taken in good time, the food arrived in good time, it was absolutely delicious, we got to listen to live Mexican music the whole time. The entire vibe was awesome: cheerful, helpful, happy. The prices were reasonable, too! I would 100% recommend. And we werent obnoxiously prompted to give a review, so Im more than happy to do it on my own accord. Hats off to the owner and staff.

Ordered the Enchilada Divorciadas to go and ended up getting out of my course early so I sat down for a margarita, chips with guacamole and salsa. Salsa and guacamole hit the spot. Absolutely delicious. The margarita was tasty. They separated the enchiladas from the rice and refried beans. I enjoyed both enchiladas but the chicken was my favorite. Those refried beans! My goodness, not sure what they put in them but wow were they amazing. I could eat that on its own. Cant wait to have the other half of my meal for lunch tomorrow. Yum!

The food is delicious, the service is excellent. The seasoning is very similar to the Mexican flavor. It is definitely a little corner of Mexico in Vernon.

Service and atmosphere was great, the food was terrible quality. Chicken from a can in my girlfriends enchilada, and I got food poisoning from the beef enchilada >_> tiny portion for 20 dollars, maybe enough food for a child? The chicken was so obliterated and dry it was clearly from a can, or they must of over cooked a chicken breast, then destroyed its structure in some sort of blender or food processor. The chicken enchilada was like eating tomato sauce covered dry canned chicken. Cant stress how bad the chicken was enough. Never seen chicken look the way it did. So dry. So flavorless. If I could get my 40 bucks back I would, but then Id have to eat here again..so...

Delicious food and great service

Portions are massive!!! Easily shareable with 2 or 3 normal eaters. Food tastes good. Seems like alot of the dishes have the same sauce, same flavour. All good flavour though. Kid-friendliness: Can definitely bring kids, I wouldnt say its made for them though.

Prices were out to lunch, and for some reason there was no kids menu... Also, you would think a $15 soup would come with some bread or tortilla chips. Menu was also messy and hard to navigate.

When you first look at the menu you might have a moment of sticker shock from the price, but it is absolutely fair. What you get for your dollar is a simply enormous amount of excellent food. I almost always end up taking away something for later and you will want to too because saving room for their dessert is a must. The only caveat I will make is you should always try for a reservation even if its not busy to get a table towards the back of the restaurant as the front door is quite drafty, hence my one docked point for atmosphere.

You need to come up with better idea for vegetarian customers

Absolutely the best Mexican food Ive ever had. The chips and guac, beef taquitos, deep fried ice cream, and especially the refried beans were all incredibly delicious. The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable to make the experience even better. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free options.

My buddy and I walked in on Cinco and were promptly seated in the back of the busy dining room. The server Amanda absolutely killed it, she was tending to at least half the restaurant without issue. Cant praise her service enough! Also, as always the massive heaping burrito, and double-limearitas hit the spot. Impossible to leave this place hungry.

Was a super cute place and was excited to eat there based on a recommendation. The service was super slow and there was maybe 12 people total in the whole restaurant. The food was very bland surprisingly and too much of the sides of beans - was a huge puddle on the plate, and nothing to eat them with except for 2 tiny chips stuck in the beans. The food quality was not worth the $25/meal price tag.

If you want a stellar place to eat with a great atmosphere you re at the right place. First sit outside, second get a pitcher of margaritas or pinacoladas, third get some pork nachos and enjoy with your honey or friend. You will not regret it. Bang for your buck. Service is great and even if you sit inside you ll enjoy the cozy lighting and music.

Had dinner here with out friends while on our motorcycle trip. The food was excellent, the price was fair, the services was outstanding. Coming back here in September on our next ride through. Lunch was really good. It got really busy and the waiter was really good but could really have needed somebody to help him because he had to cover pretty much everything on his own.

Waaaay overpriced for what you get. Food is fine and portion size is good, but nothing to write home about, and not worth the price.

If I could give 3.5 I would, but this place isnt a 4. Bland, under seasoned tacos, nothing special. I specifically asked to have Chilis added to mine but there were none. I asked if they made mine hot as requested and he brought me Valentina hot sauce lol... To top it off not once did he come back to our table to check how we were liking our meals. Service is way under par to deserve so many high ratings, and food just didnt have enough flavor.

Best nachos in Vernon

Very dissapointed. Not for big groups. We are heading Kelowna and decided to stop here for lunch because of the great reviews. They told us they cannot receive big groups (we were 15 people) because we would spend lots of food and they needed to keep food for the people coming during the rest of the day. My husband couldnt believe they said no and the reason!!!!. Unbelievable. We usually enjoy vacations along with two other families; so, this place is not for us.

I am not an expert on Mexican dinners, yet the meal I had at Los Huesos restaurant was excellent, flavourful , tasty and just the right amount of seasoning and spice to give me a very delightful and tasty meal. And this was my first ever meal at Los Huesos. I would recommend it to anyone who likes or loves genuine Mexican food.

Weve been there twice now and both times the food was FANTASTIC and the margaritas are the best Ive ever had! Great service too. Well absolutely be back! Worth noting that the dinner special on Tuesday, August 15th (Braised chipotle beef burrito) needs to be put on the regular menu -- it was out of this world!

Went in with my wife and two year old daughter and was sat down then forgotten about. After 20 minutes without a drink order we gave up and left.

We attempted to come back on a Saturday at 5:08 only to find a sign saying full. The restaurant appears to focus on live entertainment and reservations. This has been a repeat occurrence for us, so the unfortunately we consider this a negative. Other than service and availability, We loved it here! we are always on the search for good tasting Mexican and this is one of our favorites. only cons I had - not the best open days (I think closed Sundays?) or working hours (for us anyways as we drive thru town) and waitresses could have better manners. unfortunately the last time we sat down it was about an hour prior to closing and we were reminded of that (that kind of gives you the impression they dont want you there does it - are the servers just lazy and dont want to work until closing?) and then they ran out of refried beans..... be good to know of others have the same situations... I mean come on! run out of beans!? whens the last time McDonalds ran out of fries?

The BEST Mexican restaurant in the Okanagan - possibly the best in BC. Fresh, delicious authentic food, and VERY generous portions. The deep-fried ice cream is to die for. Lovely, comfortable setting with delightful mood music. Located in historic downtown Vernon, walking distance to practically everything downtown. Just the best of everything.

Looks like my review from 2 years ago was deleted, although the stars remain. It wasnt a good review, because this overpriced place doesnt make good Mexican food. It LOOKS like Mexican food, but its tasteless, hugely starchy and carby, (tasteless boiled rice and white, tasteless wraps). Annoying waiter ignored us the whole time we were there, then came and sucked up with a big phony grin at tip time. He never got it.

Wonderful Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes in an intimate setting, often accompanied by live music. Plan for reservations and bring an appetite as the portions are huge. Consistently wonderful experiences over many years to date, and they are still stellar in every consideration.

Delightful service and meal. Food preparation and presentation is outstanding though a bit bland if one does not request a spicier version. The marguarita was tasty but we found it a bit sweet. Every person has their own preference. The establishment is tidy and clean and our waiter positive and enthusiastic. This restaurant is a natural choice for those wanting a bit of south the border cuisine.

I mean. Whenever we visit Vernon this is our must-go restaurant every time. And every time I fall more in love.

It was ok. The names of dishes were right. Seasoning was not very good. For example their pork is just pulled pork. Not Mexican spiced and marinated pork. The recipes and preparation is very close to Mexican but the flavor is missing. I had chillies rellenos. They are realy heavy on sauce, but even that was pretty flat for me. Not even hotsauce at tale to add. Expensive for (in my opinion) a mediocre Mexican meal. Parking: Paid street parking during the day.

Great food. The burrito was huge! Just make sure not to park on the lot of the liquor store next door. Youll get a ticket, its for their customers only!

Ate there for the first time as we were visiting Vernon - Wow! This was by far some of the best Mexican food I have ever had! I ordered a pork chimichanga, and my husband had a pork quesadilla. Even a simple side like the beans - SO tasty. If you re in Vernon, you re missing out if you haven t eaten here. The service was also great!

The food and service are exceptional. Prices are high but the portions are on the large side. The only criticism I have is the Jarritos need to be restocked more often.

If you want the most amazing Mexican food, this is the place to be. We started with tortilla soup and chips and guacamole, which we only wanted more of. Than my enchilada Rojas came out, along with other items on the menu for everyone else, the table was quiet. So you know it was great. Will be back again soon.

This place is great if your looking for something thats open late. We came around 12pm and they were full upstairs, so they sat us downstairs which made our service very poor. Got our meal 1st and drinks later? Ummm, role of thumb. Drink 1st and meal later. And lastly they never checked between bites hows everything. I get that your busy but when your working for tips. The service has to be up tea which makes me think youve actually worked hard for it.

Decided to check out this recommended restaurant. Service was good and friendly. Atmosphere is nice but very noisy. Music was too loud which made it hard to enjoy a conversation with others. The food while being large portions, is a bit bland. We had 3 different entrees and they were basically the same ingredients, just presented differently. We tried each others meals to unanimous agreement that they all tasted the same. The red sauce is basically tomato paste. Drinks are tasty but I doubt the double margs are really that. The outing was enjoyable but agreed the experience was lacking in terms of food taste. Was hoping they had some classic Mexican dishes like moles.

The original owners have sold, the food no longer has a mexican flair. The service was great as the owner has stayed on as a server. I had the chimichanga, the portion was generous, but no flavour, very bland & dry. My husband had the 2 tortilla with 2 sauces. It was ok, just okay the sauces tasted like the kind you get in the grocery store. The beans are bland & soupy, the rice is red but flavourless. I expected better for the prices! I think I will save my Mexican cravings for Mexico.

Luis and Wendy have the best restaurant in town. My wife and I had our wedding party here and they treated us incredibly well. We finally made it back to say hi and had one of their amazing burritos, that are truly that. Amazing. We recommend this place any time we talk to someone about the Okanagan. Make sure you get a reservation. They re popular for a reason.

Great service and super tasty food. Beans are excellent, full of so much flavor. I love mexican food and definitely would recommend this restaurant. Chimichangas, chile relleno and deep fried ice cream. Apparently they make it different now. It has more of a light crust. This place has your quality and quantity covered. You wont leave hungry. I never saw the cooks, but I swear their are 3 lovely hispanic moms cooking up all this goodness.

Have dined here three times in six years. Atmosphere is comfortable, margs are weak yet well made. Food is good but not great. What really is frustrating about this place is they don t care about their customers what-so-ever! I have visited there 6 times each time before 7:00pm and turned away with a half empty restaurant in front of us. The bartender(owner) says they ran out of food..lol Don t expect to be served anytime after arriving past 6:00. Even then, the experience is not worth it

Desserts are epic! We tried the churros and it was amazingly fried with a bit of crunch that compliment the vanilla ice cream on top generously glazed with chocolate syrup. A bit short staffed so it could get really really busy but don t worry the food is worth the wait.

Or first visit to Los Huesos. Had the chicken chimichanga. It was a great choice for our first restaurant visit in a long time. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly. They seemed to be a little short staffed, but that is acceptable and normal these days. We will definitely be back.

If you find yourself north of Nogales MX, then this is the place you need to go for very authentic traditional Mexican food. Amazing service, the vibe is great and makes you miss Abuelas cooking.

I first went to Los Huesos five years ago with a co-worker. I took my girlfriend here who is visiting from the Philippines. They dont have Mexican restaurants there, so it was a great excuse to take her to Los Huesos on Thursday AND Friday. On our first day we tried the veggie nachos and the deep fried ice cream. So many vegetables and so much cheese like nachos should be! On our second day we had the quesadilla Loco (4 quesadillas which comes with flavored rice and refried beans). It was excellent! We tried going tonight for the 3rd day in a row but sadly they were fully booked by 5pm. Ah, I shouldve been there right at 4 or reserved ahead of time! I should note I really liked the music played in there. They are classic tunes played with a jazz or acoustic variation. It becomes a game of Name That Tune while you wait. The portion sizes are perfect to split between two people. Youll feel very full and satisfied!

went with my girlfriend yesterday and the burrito was the size of a small child. the largest burrito Ive ever seen in my life. the server and bartender were super friendly and the whole restaurant felt like I was in Mexico . my only recommendation is that they describe the portion size on the menu as I saw a number of people look at the menu outside and turn away after seeing the prices not realizing how much larger the food was compared to your standard Mexican food chain
