Meal was prepared poorly! Tuna poke bowl was to heavy Japanese mayonnaise no fruit. Ribs my husband was caked with a lot of Bq sauce and tasted burnt. Not a good meal!

Took guests by boat. Always nice to sit on pario. ½ rack ribs were tender and tasty. Roasted pear & beet salad leaves something to be desired, lots of lettuce not balanced. Parking: Also boat slips available

We had a bottle of Cipes, spring rolls, dry ribs, and a Hawaiian flatbread on Sunday, August 25th. The wine, spring rolls, dry ribs, and our friendly server were excellent! The pizza was not. Very undercooked, to the point where the pineapple (clearly straight from the freezer) was still icy. We should have told our server but it felt like the serving team had their hands full with an unruly table of young men making inappropriate comments to their servers. It felt like a signal that management tells servers to deal with it rather than supporting them and refusing to serve gross young men treating the servers poorly. This is a nice setting for sure, and I m sure if we had mentioned the frozen pineapple on the barely cooked flatbread it would have been fixed.

Thursday & Friday live music...so loud you can barely talk with people at your table. Food is always good ans staff is great.

Wow. Just wow. Huge price tag. ($160 for 2 ppl with one appy, 2 meals and 3 drinks). Super small portions. Our server was lovely and sitting outside was great but that s not enough to compensate for high prices and bad food. This was our second disappointment in a row so we won t be back.

Our waitress was amazing!!! My soup was cold & wasnt impressed with taco salad. You dont put kale in a taco salad and the chicken ceasar wrapped didnt have much chicken in it & asked for grilled chicken .

Went for my husband s birthday dinner as one of the few (only!) restaurants with outdoor seating on the lakes around Vernon. Very crowded, no fans available on a hot evening in the high 30s temp. After an exceptionally long wait, the falafel wrap arrived having only lettuce and tomato, no falafel! A lovely waitress, however, she acknowledged that there were many mistakes coming out of the kitchen tonight! Not to return!

Wonderful, but would love it if the patio was dog friendly. One other reviewer said the patio was dog friendly, but this is not the case.

Me and my buddy shared some appetizers on Tuesday for lunch and both got food poisoning, it s a nice restaurant on the water, but I would avoid eating here unless you want to sit on toilet shooting out water for days

Service was pleasant enough and the setting on the lake was very nice. My food was awful. The chicken sandwich was bland, dried out and very small. The fries were cold and tasted stale; I sent them back. My wife, however, did enjoy her tuna poke which is the only reason for the 3 stars. The food, especially mine, was way overpriced. I will not be returning.

I am a regular customer of 1516 both with my kids & myself. I recently had an experience where my burger was raw. I need to say I have never had a bad food experience at 1516 so this was a surprise. I went back 2 days later & explained my situation & the server was unbelievably understanding & apologetic. (I will definitely do my best to get her name) She immediately offered to cover of my meal 2 days later. In addition to this she wrote the most thoughtful message on my take out container I was going to continue going there anyways but this considerate gesture reinforced it. I will be sure to communicate this to the owner & manager. What a classy move!

One of only two waterfront pubs in the Vernon area (the other being Alexanders on Kalamalka Lake). The location is great. You really cant beat a waterfront patio in the summer. The food is typical pub fare. Higher prices than other local pubs. Youre paying for the location.

It was alright, but the bartender saying the N word quite loudly and multiple times didnt make the experience very enjoyable.

On Okanagan Lake, in Vernon, there are very few options for eats with a view, but 1516 which has been several other iterations over the years has an amazing patio really good servers and pretty good food not a bad combo if you ask me.. oh and some nice cold beverage options too! ; )

It is very strange to go to such a beautiful pub on the water and have the food be so weak. I had the beef dip and it was this strange fatty thin cut meat. There was absolutely no flavour in any part of the dish. The others that were in our group said that their meals were absolutely flavourless, and when there was a bit of flavor, it was not the best combination. We had some Bellinis that were really poorly done. Whether their great servers and amazing location there wouldn t be much to talk about

Food was good, but DONT order the Belinellis. They are a high priced slushie. The drink was only about 1/2 cup in size and no flavour. The owner needs to go to Mr. Mikes steak house and order a Belinelli. See how it should be made.

Our server was seemingly uninterested in engaging with our friendly table. She barely checked on us, never checked if drinks were ok and handed us the POS machine After shed pre-selected the 20% tip option. Not cool. TIPS mean To Insure Proper Service, not a guaranteed amount picked by server.

Good food, good service, want bothered many times when it was clear I was talking or eating and enjoying myself. Drink was watched for refills and the staff was friendly. Food was the best part of the experience in my opinion. Nice simple menu. Great dishes. Question if the owner/s see this, do you provide chess pieces for the beautiful corner table? The vibes are definitely up at this place. Beer was cold, staff were well trained and the patio was exceptionally clean! This restaurant is a must hit if you are in the Vernon area.

Had a private party in their rental room. Excellent service. Had the Thai red curry and it was yummy. All the food I saw looked great. Nice menu of food and drinks.

We first tried this pub after about a couple weeks after its re-opening..and said we would not go back..the food was terrible...but yesterday a friend convinced me to try it again.. Well I was pleasantly surprised..the food was much better and the service we got from Alex was outstanding...she is a huge asset to that team from our short interaction with her.. so much so we will go back...as of March 2024 it seems a bit of a new menu was re-worked..and seems one of the more economical places to go in Vernon right now...will be great when the weather warms up so one can get on the patio again

My wife and I had a special occasion to celebrate so we thought we would try that old Blue Heron, which is now the 1516 pub. We had a delightful lunch Lakeside with great service from the hostess name Jordan. Thank you, Jordan for making it a special day for us. Probably wont try it in the middle of it. High season of summer as it will be very crowded but right now April 14 is actually wonderful.. Wheelchair accessibility: Access to the patio was through a lot gate which the staff eagerly opens for us. Sat outside waterfront, enjoying the view. This time of year, its not that busy so we enjoyed that also.

Waited 20 minutes for our drink order. Server was friendly but passed us off to another server to take the orders of a bigger table. Another server never came. We don t always make the choice to go out with a toddler, so it s extremely disappointing to have an experience like this when we do make time to get out.

Most of the cache for 1516 comes from bordering the lake; the food was mediocre; there is much better menus and food in Vernon. The night 6 of us went to the restaurant, they had live music but it was so loud that I looked forward to when the band was on a break. The service was relatively good but depends on the server because the previous time it was much better. So, good service is hit and miss. The view was spectacular because it was a beautiful day but still a bit cold; so we sat inside. However, the view is likely why people enjoy this restaurant. Overall, this restaurant is lower in my rotation of places to visit when dining in Vernon.

We had a large group for dinner on the deck recently and from the start to finish, service, food and attention was excellent, despite them being short staffed (unforeseen staff emergency, hopefully shes well). My only comment is that they need a few mobile heaters to place in the areas there arent any immovable heaters. They gave us blankets though, so we survived lol. They work so hard to do their best, so give them grace when things arent perfect. Thanks team 1516!

Went on a nice sunny Wednesday ~ 12C, ~ 2:00pm in mid-March. Ample parking and fairly busy inside with customers at only 2 tables on the patio. Maybe its too cool for others but comfortable wearing shorts and light long sleeve top. Sun made it much warmer and being on the water with killer view makes for best patio in Vernon. Bonus is the dock where you can drive up with your boat, tie up, and enjoy food & drink. From arrival through food & drink and departure, the service was excellent, welcoming, friendly, engaging, and efficient. Menu is diverse with many pub favorites. Good quality, well portioned and med to high pricing. Good selection of beers, and they have aged single malt Scotch. Would definitely go back during the summer when I suspect the patio has line ups. Had a great time. Going from the city to small town pub vibes. Be warned: last call was at 9:30pm on a friday. Good thing I know how to smoke like a fish and drink like a chimney. I was feeling no pain at 9:30 Vegetarian options: Great veggie Flatbread pizza. Super yummy, ordered it again after I devoured the first helping.

The new owners have done amazing work here. The menu has improved significantly but of course the atmosphere is still amazing, cant beat being right on the water. Pool tables are gone but this place definitely needed more tables. My server Darryl (probably not spelling that right) was so incredibly personable and fun, took good care of my friend and I.

My best friend got married and we decided to go to the pub afterwards for the first time and was not disappointed our server Darrel was Awesome and made us feel right at home. Great food and atmosphere. Thanks to Darrel and the the kitchen staff. Would recommend.

We were hesitant to try this restaurant due to the prices, however, we thought if the food is as good as we ve heard, it would be worth it. Went on a Saturday as $5 off mains, well even though the fish and chips, choice of 1 or 2 pieces was listed on the mains, apparently only the 2 piece is entitled to the $5 off. Would have been nice to know that before ordering, as my husband would have chose something else instead. The food was just on the warm side, so half way through the meal our food was cold. Music, which was not advertised started at about 6:15 and so it was very difficult to have a discussion with our friends. Overall, I would probably not go back.

We had an amazing lunch time with our friends family, with a spectacular view and food. We had a tuna bowl, salmon teriyaki and pasta, all good. We hardly recommend this place.

I just spent a lovely evening at the 1516 pub and was blessed to have Matt and Tamara look after our large table celebrating 2 birthdays. Matt was the consummate professional. Very attentive and extremely personable he is a credit to this establishment and surprisingly this was his first shift. Tamara was also extremely professional and also ensured that a good night was had by all. Thank-you for having such wonderful staff like these two. Kid-friendliness: Great.

Okay, weve given the new owners 3 tries since it changed from the old out board. Weve had 2 lunches and one brunch. At best the food is only poor to fair. Dry tasteless ceasar salad for example. Nothing special for the price. Barely passible as pub grub. Good spot for just coffee and drinks and maybe add fries if starving. Sitting outside on the deck overlooking the marina makes up for a lot of ills on a fine day and they seem to be banking on it. Service is good though. They need to improve on their food quality. Vernon needs more lakeside dining options as well. Next time well get take out from a better restaurant and sit on the beach.

It was ok, nothing fantastic. Not really sure how to evaluate the food as it was good but it doesnt command 4 stars. Service was decent but the music was blaring inside. A little expensive for the food to quality ratio. But thats me and what do I know!?

The best of it is the Patio other than that, Overpriced and bad service. We share a Chicken Brie sandwich. was serve Dry , Bread not toasted basically i could not taste the apples in it , i could not even see them, the bacon was old you can tell is from the night before. $24 bucks for it, i did not send it back because we were hungry. Service is terrible, No cutlery , no napkins , the server never check on us and the worst a corona with out lime, i asked for the lime but the beer was gone by the time she show up. Will not come back

Our server was terrific. The food was good. The mini-yorkies were amazing. The cauliflower bites had too much batter & weren t a very healthy option, all told, but were tasty all the same. Our group liked the food & the drinks were beautiful. Our server made the night. She was lovely though I can t recall her name now. Such a great location. Just need to bring back the live music on the patio!

Nice place but unexpected noisy (loudly music + many people voices = not so comfortable for a relaxing). It is a good place for a middle/big company, for family dinner. However if you look for a cozy and relaxed place to enjoy the conversation with old friends or to have a diner alone after working day I would choose something else.

Sunday 3:00 p.m. not very busy, table for 5. My Mom had dry ribs that were very crunchy, over cooked, and tasteless. My dad had calamari and didn t know what he was eating. It looked like very thick panko breadcrumbs rolled into a ball and deep fried in old oil. Was there even a piece of calamari in there? Husband s burger was fair- fries were like generic McCann s frozen from a bag. Niece had the Flatbread margarita, she said it was like eating Pillsbury dough. I had the tofu poke bowl but came with Tuna instead. Left the tuna so ended up paying $28.00 for 7 tablespoons of rice garnished with 4 slices each of wilting raw radish and cucumber. Terrible presentation. Left the Tuna in tack hopefully it doesn t end up on the next diner s plate. All the glasses were filthy (including lip stains) I had to go to my car to get a stainless-steel cup from my car so I could have a drink. The only positive was the bottled wine. If you re use to eating Kraft dinner or if you re drunk, then you would think the food is gourmet. The food tasted like my 16-year-old son cooked it. If you are used to ½ decent dining, you would find the dining experience sub par. If I was the only one at the table that was disappointed it is on me, but when 5 people have the same experience it s on the establishment. The poor quality does not reflect the high price you pay. Better off putting a hotdog and hamburger stand on the property, it would be less offensive.

We hesitated to try this location based on the mixed reviews but decided to check it out anyway. It was a nice (hot and humid) day. We were promptly brought to our outdoor table by a lovely girl. Though we sat there for 20-25 min with a bunch of waitresses glancing but no service. Eventually the indoor hostess spotted us and apologized as it was apparently quite busy inside and our waitress was overwhelmed so didnt check on us. Our hostess then took our drinks order and our waitress appeared shortly after. We received multiple apologies and got our food ordered. Portions were mediocre but tasted good. Very expensive for what you get. Waitress checked on us once my meal was done. Took another 15 minutes for our waitress to bring our receipt after our request. Irrelevant to our service we saw 4 plates sent back to the kitchen. And an overserved loud-mouth at the table beside us.

Came here just in time for happy hour, it was a hot sunny day and we sat on the patio. The service was attentive and we ordered calamari, Greek Flatbread and BBQ chicken flatbread. Everything we ate was tasty, will return again when are are in Vernon.

This place is all about the patio, small but accommodating. You sit along the waterfront, in front of the boat docks, fantastic. I also noticed spots along the pier for boat parking, specifically for the pub. The wife and I will be coming via the lake next year from Kelowna for sure!

Great service and a fantastic patio. Food was substandard. Had the fish and chips, and it was so over cooked I had to send it back. If you deep fry something so much that its as dark as a russet potato and hard as a rock, either your oil is too hot or you are cooking it way too long.

Well , Let me just say that I haven t been since it s changed names and I can tell you right, I ll never return. We walked in this afternoon with nobody else in the restaurant other then the couple the server/ hostess was talking to in the back corner. She looked over as we stood in the doorway, no hello or I ll be right with you. We stood for about 5 minutes then thought if we sat ourselves, she might get the hint. Nope, sat there for another 5 , got up said thank you sarcastically and walked out. Still not even giving any kind of care that we were there and now leaving. Way to go! I honestly thought that it would be a good experience from what I e heard. I ll be sure to share my experience with friends and family.

Dinner with 2 children can be challenging at the best of times, they make it very welcoming , easy and enjoyable for a family of four, great service and great food, we have been there several times now and it has been a great experience each time. Kid-friendliness: They have a good kids menu and colouring book.

RAVE to 1516 pub who helped my family by allowing us to host a very last minute event there that required access for a wheelchair and a wheelchair-accessible washroom. They had the tables set up so the wheelchair could easily navigate, were gracious hosts and we had impeccable service! I couldnt thank them enough for their kindness in allowing us to have our event there!!

The View is beautiful! That is literally all!! The food is terrible and over priced .all 4 times. I keep thinking, they re new, and just working out the bugs! Nope. Awful. The bottled beer isn t even cold. Im done.

With very few food and drink establishments on the waterfront in the Okanagan, this one is always a refreshing delight! Having visited this location several times over the years, it is very enjoyable to sit in the open air overlooking the lake view. The steamer pot - mussels in a delicious sauce - was amazing! And the 1516 lager was terrific.

Views on the water give an excellent patio vibe. Four of us ate different meals and their were no complaints. I had the bbq chicken flatbread. I really enjoyed it. Service was prompt but it should have been because it was not too busy late in the season.

OPEN ALL YEAR! I didn t know this! The food is amazing! Service is fantastic! Victoria is tha best! Just booked our Christmas party! They are so accommodating and their menu has risotto! 2 types! Can I say more?!?

I have not enjoyed the food there and was in a croup of five there for lunch and my daughter had a tray of beer dropped on her hair and back. No apology or deduction.

We recently had 1516 cater an event for us and provide us with their facility as well. 100% on point. Service was great the food was great. The manager was on top of everything to ensure our event went off without any problems. Our organization will definately use them again. We had 88 people attend it was tremendous.

Excellent views if on the deck. Inside is nothing to write home abiut. Decent food.

Wonderful waitresses, clean comfy and such a beautiful location. Love the fireplaces to stay warm in winter very romantic.
