Just stopped in the bar for a Burger and a drink.

Large helpings. We had the Santa Barbara, Veal Parmasan, and a Chicken Taco. Not bad overall. Salads & rolls though were.

Everything on the menu is great. Good quality and plenty of it. Service is always pleasant.

They used to have great gluten free pizza. Past few times the sausage was tasteless links cut up. Last time was a greasy cauliflower premade crust pizza.

Words cant describe how bad the food was. This is definitely microwave food or re heated left overs. Those that know my profile can confirm my reviews Im honest and give everybody a chance. Check my profile and you can see Ive been almost every where in the last 5 years . It was so bad I left my whole food in the plate and just left. Dont let the pics fool you. Its that bad. So sad . Hopefully this review wakes them up.

Six senior citizens. Six separate checks. Five were on time, the 6th arrived about 25 minutes later. Our server was Emma. She was awesome! Friendly, funny, efficient and patient. She answered all of our silly questions and made sure we had everything we needed while waiting. Once the 6th person arrived, she took our orders and refilled waters and asked if anyone wanted additional drinks. Our meals arrived together and every special request was on target. The food was good and meals were large enough for leftovers for most of us. I would definitely go to Benis again, and would be happy to be seated at Emmas table.

We went for a graduation party, and Laura took care of us. She was amazing, super accommodating and so friendly. The food was also great. Would 100% recommend!!

This is my first time writing a review for any place - I feel like it s necessary. I visited Beni s on 3/25 with my boyfriend. The food was okay, but it s the poor quality of service that is causing me to write a review. We walked into the restaurant and there was one other party inside, and then one other couple showed up shortly after us. Our waiter was a young Albanian guy (he mentioned he was Albanian to the other party that showed up after us) and immediately we could tell that for whatever reason he just didn t want us there, and I have no clue why. The waiter barely talked to us and was not at all pleasant to us, basically all he said when he came up to get our drink order was you want soda or are you good with water not what can I get you to drink or asking if we wanted anything from the bar, I just found it strange. He was just very short with us and again it felt like he just wanted us out of his hair. On the other hand, when the couple came in after us, he stood at their table for a lengthy amount of time chatting with them about themselves and explaining things on the menu to them, asking them where they were from, telling them about himself, etc.; he offered to bring them bread immediately as well, which we were never offered. No one ever came to ask how our food was or refill our drinks, and the waiter dropped off our check and then asked as an afterthought if we wanted desert (but it was clear he just wanted us to pay and leave). I honestly can say this is the first time ever that I wanted to not leave a tip at a restaurant, but I still did. My boyfriend and I are paying customers but were treated like criminals for whatever reason and we were both shocked, honestly the service was so bad it was almost comical. You would think that with the restaurant being so empty maybe you would get paid attention to, but that was not the case here. I doubt I ll ever return to this restaurant. Maybe the other wait staff is good but I don t even want to take that chance. It is a nice looking restaurant so I am disappointed mostly.

The service was good the food was decent. I just wanted a grilled cheese as an adult and couldn t order off the kids menu. This makes no sense. There is nothing free that comes with the kids meal. If I order it for a 2-year-old or as a 40-year-old, it s still the same amount of food cooked and paid for. I spent plenty of money and got two adult beverages in addition. Just let the adults have a grilled cheese if they want it. Shouldn t be too much to ask.

Mussel appetizer tasted good but several broken shells. Salads were fresh and large portion with chicken added. Ribeye steak cooked as ordered. Server was very efficient and friendly.

This place is amazing, the Margaritas are delicious and the food as well. Excellent customer service and fast.

Love this restaurant. Good service and food special clam soup only Fridays. And the shrimp scallop. Its not cheap but the quality of the fresh food its worth it.

We had Benis cater our work holiday party. Never been to the restaurant so new to me. I had chicken parm and roasted potatoes. Others had wraps and salads. No complaints heard. Chicken parm was great and roasted potatoes tender and well seasoned. Thank you guys. Had the opportunity to answer someone asking about your restaurant for dinner. Told them of my goid food and they were heading there.

Dont ever have a celebration here! Rude regulars at the bar ruin the atmosphere with their unnecessary comments towards people in the banquet hall. Totally disgusting the way others treat people here. Expensive and not worth the bullying.

Ive always received great food from Benis, however I decided to try the grilled pork chops this time. They were the best chops I have ever had! Very good!

Unfortunately, Benis is a miss. My boyfriend and his friend went last week and it was amazing! They ordered the turkey wrap and the gyro. Everything was fresh and well cooked. The quality of the food was high and he was excited to take me. We ended up ordering the same thing again and it was a completely different meal. We went from fresh turkey to cold cuts, crispy fries to soggy, large portions to stingy, and I think the coleslaw was expired. Overall inconsistent and disappointing for the price you pay. Go to Vernon Diner down the road.

I was here for some fellowship after a funeral service. The restaurant was chilly and the chairs we had were a little small and uncomfortable. The food that was served was very good. Soft drinks and coffee were readily available. However there was no one coming around to clear off the dirty dishes after we were done eating and it led to uncomfortableness at the tables which led to quick departures of many attendees. Maybe that was their intent, but it was unprofessional. As good as the food was, it wasnt good enough to compensate for the bad service we received. Such a shame. I hope their service to regular diners is much better.

The noise was unbelievable. We had 2 people in our group that were hard of hearing. They had to turn off their hearing aids because of the extremely loud customers.

I rarely give 5 stars this place was so close to getting them! The food was delicious and there was so much of it. We brought home more than half of what we ordered! The crab cakes were fat, large, and had a great taste. We are coming back!!

Have been going to Benis for some time now. Monda and the staff are like family. Food is great, and sitting out on the patio is relaxing. Come check it out.

I was dining there and ordered the whole belly clam dinner.. I felt the clams were dry, and did not have much flavor, but the worst thing was there tartar sause I did not order a cup full of mayo.. it was so gross, I couldn t use it with my dinner but the worst thing was I ordered a extra tartar sause and there was a $1.00 up charge for it!! The server did not tell me of the upcharge for it and I was not happy about it, and when I said to the server how I received two cups of mayo and did not use it, he could have cared less! ! So, I was not happy with his reaction, I wished he said something and took the upcharged off my bill I just hate getting ripped off!!

We had intended to visit this restaurant several times. Finally stopped in for dinner. There are two sides to this restaurant, bar on one and dining room on the other. The menu, posted online is pretty eclectic. Seafood, steaks, salads, burgers, ribs, and pasta. We decided on ribs and a Cajun dish they call Baton Rouge. Both were excellent. The ribs had a nice glaze of BBQ sauce that was sweet with a touch of cayenne, excellent. The Baton Rouge was fabulous. A classic roux, andouille sausage, chicken over rice. Reminds me of similar dishes I had in New Orleans. Portions were substantial, both of us took boxes home. My wife was frequently looking at other patrons saying, whats that, that looks good, etc. We decided this may be a once a month stop. The price was average for this type of restaurant in this area, entrees 20 to 30 dollars. An adequate selection of wines and beers and some specialty cocktails. I stuck with the coffee which was excellent.

Stopped at this place on our way through CT. No frills, no pretension, just good food and the portions were huge! The service was great. They had a huge party inside that they were working with during our visit, but the servers managed it well. Quick, easy access off I-84 and their outdoor seating was great on a sunny afternoon.

Ive been ordering take out occasionally for the last 7 years. Usually the NY Strip or Chicken Parmesan. The food quality and prep is on par with high end restaurants. Everything about the place is good. Its managed well, staff is always really friendly, and they keep their prices pretty low and reasonable. I just started recently ordering their Chicken Quesadilla, and I gotta say, Its one of the most delicious food items Ive ever eaten. Its incredible.

Stopped by on our way home from a business outing at lunch. The place was very quiet. Very clean and welcoming. The bartender/waitress was excellent. Very friendly and quick to take care of us. I had the Gyro, which was really good. My husband had the chicken quesadilla, which he said was excellent. Easy on and off highway, so I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place for a quick bite or nice dinner.

Wonderful diner with delicious food Americana cooked just right, huge proportions. Fast, friendly service. Delightful seasonal decor. Would recommend the patty melt and nachos.

This is the first time we were here and it was for a family get together of 15 people. We had a nice room off the dining room. Our waitress Natasha was very attentive and the food was wonderful.

Went for dinner with friends and I wasnt really impressed. I had some salad with a delicious dressing however it was more like salad soup because the salad was dripping with dressing. Not impressed

Not great. Get the impression that its run by a chef who had great ideas for taste profiles but lacking technical skill. Main entrees seem pricey for the offerings. Was given a salad with rotten vegetables, chicken was not evenly cooked with one side being charred black and the other side pink, and the corned beef was so tough that it was crunchy. Waitress was either burnt out or had little personality and wasnt readily available.

Had a wonderful experience last week meeting with the owner of this fine establishment , the kitchen made a minor error in preparing my take out order and the owner immediatly stepped in and made it right! I visit most of the area restaraunts and without question Benis food and selection is the best in the area. I am fresh food/flavor conscious. I highly recommend Benis for a great dining experience! Tonight our date night was excellent. Thank you. The sword fish special was excellent, seasoned and grilled perfectly. The scallop special was also cooled perfectly and a portion for two. Very enjoyable.

We were too tired to cook & quite a few restaurants in So. Windsor area are closed on Sundays & Mondays. On Sunday, we ordered, Grilled Pork Chops w/wild mushroom, rosemary demi glaze, garlic mashed potatoes & mixed veg. ( mixed veg. were delicious) also Chicken Francaise w/linguine. These meals were so good & I mean good, we ordered dinner there again on Tuesday evening, ordering different entrees, Beef Brisket etc. again that were equally as good. In addition to their reg menu, they have specials. We are not too lazy to cook, just going through tough emotional times. Anyway, when I picked it up the 1st time, left a tip, the second time I also left a tip, but left an additional tip for the chef. I cant speak for every meal they offer, but we were pleasantly satisfied. Would not hesitate to return again & again even if its on days when So. Windsor restaurants are open. Try it, hope you enjoy it as well as we.did.

Benis is a very nice restaurant with Italian / American food. Was nice to see some nice outdoor seating - close to he parking lot but theyve really made the best of it. Great service. Lots of menu options. Highly recommended.

The food was really good. The wait was a little long but it was definitely worth it.

Food was great. Had a soda spill that they not only ran to take care of but generously replaced the affected food items (no charge). What you hope for but dont always get.

Dont know why but really like this place. First went there during covid epidemic with its comfortable outdoor dining. Eclectic menu that made everyone happy. I enjoyed the chicken marsala with extra mushrooms, my husband and dad loved the gyro.

Food was delicious I had fish and chips the this was not greasy at all. My girlfriend had pasta Verona and she thought it was delicious. It had lots of chicken and sausage on top of linguine

The server was very nice and pleasant but we ordered calamari as an appetizer and there was way more breaded jalapenos than there was actual calamari. Then my fiance ordered the grilled shrimp salad and there was only 4 shrimp in in it. We questioned this and were told that that was the standard portion for the salad, Since I paid almost $20 for that salad that was a bit disappointing. We ordered an appetizer a hamburger, a shrimp salad and one seafood special and the tab was $90.00 Yet that seems a bit excessive considering our calamari was basically fried jalapenos and our shrimp salad was basically lettuce and under ripe tomatoes Needless to say we were very disappointed and we dont think we will be going back.

Driving from Boston to NJ and didnt want the usual McDonalds stop. Found this place by chance and was so glad we did. Good service and good food.

We were sat at a table outside which we requested and 20 min later I went inside and asked what the issue was well when our server finally arrived she had a horrible attitude. All of our food was cold. She knew I wasn t happy at all. This is a total embarrassment to my friends that I said let s go there it s great. Our food was all ice cold !

Was very disappointed with my mussels in white wine, garlic, onions and pepper sautéed appetizer. More than 1/3 of the mussels shells broken in small pieces, bit into many of them, after the 4th time I bit into shell fragment I sent back! Dangerous! I know if Beni were there, he would NOT have sent out a dish like that! Guess some things slip thru the cracks! All in all, semi -pleasant lunch, server very nice and attentive, but for a $90. Lunch, definitely will go see Beni at Hilltop next time! And thats with NO alcoholic beverages. Prices a bit steep for quality of food! CHICKEN PASTA DISH WITH SUN DRIED TOMATOES VERY TASTY!

Great food and staff. One of the very few restaurants in this area, open on a Monday. High quality food, decent size portions fair prices. We ve come here several times and have been extremely happy with the food and service. Great atmosphere inside and outside. The IPA s available on tap were right up our alley, Captain s daughter and some from New England brewery!

We LOVE coming to Beni s on Saturday night when our friend Timmy Scott is playing. Our amazing waitress Jess never fails to patiently take care of our large group. The food is always amazing and the drinks are by far the best around. Get a coconut Mojito! You won t regret it!

Being greeted is an important part of making a customer feel welcome. The hostess did this poorly and took a few minutes to be acknowledged. My friends meal was served before mine and the waitress said they lost my order in the kitchen. I was compensated with a complimentary beer but serving meals together is important. The food was delicious but the delivery was poor.

Very disappointed! I ordered a burger and lava cake for takeout this evening. The burger was supposed to medium but it was very rare. It also had a strange taste like low quality meatloaf and was inedible. The lava cake came half frozen and tasted freezer burned. It was not anywhere near the quality I had expected and I do not intend on going back.
