Cambium - in Vernon

Had our staff Christmas party, the Cambium staff provided exceptional service and the food was amazing! Smoked salmon by far my favorite dish! Looking forward to returning and trying out the rest of the menu.

So proud to have this in our backyard. VThe setting is beautiful. The food is world class. Highly highly recommended.

Great atmosphere in a countryside setting. Nice to be able to sit in the orchard and have food and drink. The service was just ok but the food more than made up for it. Would be nice to see a kids playground or sandbox or other activities. Many wineries and breweries now have things for the kids to do. You would reach a lot more families. Kid-friendliness: Unfortunately not that kid friendly. Would be nice for them to make a play space in the orchard.

If you havent tried Cambium Cider Co yet, you are missing out! Nestled in an apple orchard, this gem has a great vibe, fabulous and innovative drinks, and wonderful food, all locally sourced and seasonal. Highly recommend! We will be back to sample more of the awesomeness on offer!

Great patio bordering the orchard. They have a solid selection of ciders. Everything from really dry to fairly sweet. There is something for everyone. The food was a pleasant surprise. We will have to come back to try more of the menu.

We took in the Mexican Band they had brought in for their live entertainment. They were very good and played a wide variety of music. The Cider is excellent, ranging from very dry to sweet, depending on what you prefer, with a wide abundance of flavors. The service was good even though they were full that evening. As far as the food went, it could have used more seasoning and attention to detail. The pizza was good, but very scarce in regards to toppings. We will definitely be back,locals this is a great place to take your out of town guests.

The vibes are giving ! Had THE most amazing ciders of all times. Our only regret- Not bringing back enough to Lower Mainland!

Great Restaurant

We absolutely love Cambium!! Weve been here a few times, last time with my parents-in law from Toronto and they loved it. The hour drive from Kelowna is always worth it! Weve had the cider tasting flights which change seasonally and we loved all of them! The food was incredible too, the dessert was one of our favourites! We love the atmosphere, the staff is super attentive and friendly.

Just came for the Golden Burger challenge. Burger was sublime! I was so stoked to hear these guys were trying their hand at the Golden Burger.. but with apples! Never loved a pork burger like this before so bravo . Glad to get a last visit into Cambium before the season closes. Hope they try again next year! P.S. Joe was the best server Ive had in a long time, fun, funny and into horror. Think we made a new friend

What an amazing and unique setting for lunch with my daughter today to take in the Golden Burger challenge. Joe and Claire gave amazing service and the food was next level!

Just tried to go to cambium cidery, first time ever going. They ID us as any good business would, I gave my government issued license and government issued service card. They told me my drivers license was a fake and that they wouldn t serve us. Both my cards are identical and say the same information. I proceeded to bring out 3 extra pieces of ID (credit cards, union card, encore card) they took my drivers license into the back bent it in half and came back to tell us we had to leave. Pretty unpleasant to say the least. I love supporting small businesses but unfortunately I will not be returning.

The Cambium cidery is a working Vernon orchard owned by a young team transitioning it to organic status, no small feat! Dining options flow from the country-style building, where chefs work the indoor wood oven, to the outdoor orchard where they bake delicious New York style pizzas in another huge wood oven. The farm-to-plate menu is relatively small but has something for everyone, using seasonal produce and meats, and the ciders are exquisite. While there is a decent bottled beer selection, I hope they soon add a few choice BC drafts. (As an aside, I think this is the first five-star review Ive given as I always feel theres at least some room for improvement but the Cambium cidery is so special I think it deserves the highest rating.) Oh, dont forget to pick up a wood fired sourdough loaf - pricey but nothing beats it! Kid-friendliness: You can walk part of the orchard to tire out your toddlers when they get a bit fussy

Dinner for 9 people for an 80th Birthday. Visiting from out of town. Spent close to $600. NO free anything for the birthday girl, just happy birthday wishes from the server. Not even a tiny piece of dessert. Had high expectations. Ambience inside was meh mostly because the rock music playing made it feel like a cheap pub. Server was nice. Meals ordered that i remember, lamb (still stinky for my taste), beef (3 sliced pieces and a weird deep fried potato thing). 3 pizzas (crust was soft), salad, seafood, $6 cans of pop. Just not a very memorable experience maybe because birthday girl was not celebrated. Locale is beautiful. Orchard is beautiful. Wouldnt go back.

Sept 2024 update back to Cambium for another lovely meal on their fabulous patio. All 4 of us enjoyed pizza, lamb shank, and chicken. Alpng with refreshing ciders and excellent pavlova desert made for a nice night out!! This is our second time at Cambium. Last fall the dining experience was not what we expected. Ours meals were a bit underwhemling. This SECOND TRY WAS EXCELLENT!!! beef shortrib done to a perfect temperature and melty good. Halibut, was enjoyed by two others and the chicken with pasta was the fourth diners choice. All meals and accompaniments were paired for great flavors. Service seemed to be a bit of work in progress as i understand they have just reopened for the season. All in all a great meal choice in the vernon area and we WILL RETURN !!!!!

The server was excellent as was our risotto and steak. The chicken looked great but somehow half of it was quite dry. I would have given 5 stars on everything if it werent for the chicken dish.

Loved the tomato and burrata salad. Was delicious. The humus was ok as was the lamb burger. The potatoes wedges were delicious as was the pizza. Beautiful setting.

This is a real gem in an apple orchard, go for the ambience, ciders & entertainment . The food needs to be worked on, but with some spices & proper reductions it could get there. We went on Thursday the entertainment & atmosphere were amazing.. Garlic humus was bland, beet salad was great but very small portion came with a human hair., pizza crust dry, baba for dessert dried sponge cake no rum flavour.. I will go back again for the party but not for the food. The service is fantastic!

She was super knowledgeable about the ciders and gave us fantastic recommendations. Her friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. Great outdoors dining amongst the apple trees of Cambium Cider restaurant/brewery. The speciality pizza was yum as was the cider.

I was excited to try the restaurant today since I couldn t on my last visit. I have to say I was a bit disappointed the food was good (even if it felt a bit expensive for what we got) but the service needs to be improved! From the minute we showed up at the lobby to the waitress who took care of us, I wasn t impressed. 25 minutes between the moment we got the menu to the moment I asked someone to send our waitress over because we are starving is too much. I tried to wave, catch her attention but nothing. If they re busy running around, I get it but that s wasn t the case. Too bad, there is potential for a great experience! Great cider though.

Nice cider company in Vernon. Food and atmosphere were top notch, service not so much. We were seated and waited for 20 minutes before server bothered to visit our table, wife said wed leave in 5 if no one showed up to take our order. Server seemed disinterested and made us feel unwelcome. We split a chicken focaccia which was excellent. Food here is really good and ciders were great too, but service was a letdown.

What a beautiful space!! The food was incredible with perfect cider pairing. The pork chops, the lamb, hummus, all amazing. This is a must stop for dinner and cider samples. The service was top notch!

New, delicious, and interesting ciders to taste. Fantastic service. Absolutely beautiful decor, very whimsical. We stopped here while on vacation from Alberta. We also ordered the chefs special pizza. It had a decent amount of topping on it for a stove oven pizza, which is rare! Very fair pricing for appetizers and drinks. Good for the whole family. We were also able to take a short walk through the orchard after.

Picked up some cider from the shop. As always, the service was incredible. The cider is good, too!

First time at Cambium Cidery Co. The setting up on the BX, the orchards, the rustic property all add to the experience. Apparently the menu has expanded recently, and they now offer more than pizza main courses. We started with the cheese and olive plate. For main course, the pizza they were promoting was average, lots of dough and light on the toppings. The lamb shank was very, very good. The Roche dessert was wonderful. The vanilla plum cider is highly recommended! Definitely going to try to get reservations for one of the music nights they host.

Found this cute little spot by mistake. Great find. Fantastic experience. We were lucky enough to have the cidermaker greet us at the door and show us our table. And fortunate she had time to walk us through the amazing cider flights. Food was very very good. Had the hummus with crackers and the fried chicken sandwich. Would love to return and take part in one of their tours. We unfortunately didnt have a reservation today or the time to wait. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful place to visit and revisit often. Missy and the team have the most beautiful cidery. We came for a meal and music and had such a great time. I recommend booking a table and make sure to buy music tickets well in advance. Cant wait to come back again soon!

Excellent! Such knowledgeable staff and interesting ingredients creating wonderful flavours! So... updating my post after an amazing event with delicious appetizers!!! Very much enjoyed! If you are thinking about booking an event here or looking for a venue there is a wow factor here. Lots of space too. Vernon Tourism hosted the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce Business After Five June monthly event there June 18th, 2024 and it was amazing. The Oysters were great, Sliders were amazing, Tacos were tasty and the Desserts were awesome. Oh, I forgot the ciders... Cambium Ciders are untouchable by other cideries. The Traditional is my favourite as uts the driest and each flavour has distinction. Whiskey barrel has a great smokey whiskey note, Cherry... OK Im stopping because you get it. And you should go check them out. Cool local crafts in the shop too.

When I went it seemed like they have more people going for food and have become more of a restaurant than known for tasting their cider. Service was friendly but no one explained the ciders or anything. I picked 4 from the menu for a flight and were given them. I was asked if they were good, paid bill and left. The cherry cider is excellent. Edit in response: I asked the hostess at the front door (in the cider purchase area) regarding doing a cider tasting and she said I could happily sit in the restaurant and order a flight of cider.

We are huge fans of Cambium cider and were excited to be able to dine there on the last night of our ski trip to Silver Star which coincided with the reopening of their dining room. The food exceeded our expectations and enjoyed a custom flight of their ciders

Wow, wow, wow. I was lucky enough to dine at Cambium on their opening weekend this season, and what a wonderful experience it was. The service was friendly, personable and timely. The plating of each dish was stunning and the flavours were spot on. Looking forward to dining there again.

Very average pizza and tiramisu, good cider and amazing setting

Ate here last summer. There is good atmosphere but horrible food, it was way over cooked, not as described on the menu and the service was horrible, never got drinks, no one checked on us after we got our food and when we ate what we could stomach because we were hungry (waitress couldn t be found)the waitresses response when she showed up and we tried to explain her response was was oh but you ate it, you can buy another meal . I tried to reach out to management about the terrible experience but never received a response. Do not eat here, had potential to be a great spot but ruined by bad overpriced food and bad service.

I have been coming here for several years as it transitioned from a small cidery to a beautiful restaurant. The owners and staff are all lovely and welcoming. The shop features goods from local craftspeople, and seasonally, they sell apples or fresh baked sourdough along with their ciders. They have delicious food for lunch or dinner, flights of cider to try, and even cocktails featuring their cider. I almost forgot to mention they also have yummy non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails too! For dog folk, they allow dogs at the picnic tables in the orchard and often have live music on the patio in the summer. Truly something for everyone. Note: they are closed Jan-Feb. Parking: There is parking below the resturant and a few spots up at the entrance for accessibility. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome, but please monitor them. Wheelchair accessibility: Parking is gravel, but level up top, and the floor plan is level. There are also accessibility friendly bathrooms and stalls.

absolutely great experience at cambium! i can t believe i hadn t heard of it before. All local ingredients even listed in menu where they are sourced from. Decently expensive but you pay for quality here! (entrees about $40 each) I had the chicken dinner and it was fantastic. Definitely pricey for me to do often but a great date night! Would go more often if i could. Cant wait for it to reopen for the season!

We love the Hostler cider. Family owned business, you dont find this kind of vibe anywhere else. Its definitely worth a stop, especially after a mountain bike ride or hike

We went there opening night. It was our first time there and the service was superior. It was our servers first night, and she was so polite, genuine and eager to learn as much as she could about the food, and the cidery to better inform us about the place. The desert pastry was a hard, so we informed the server. She appreciated the information, as the cidery prides itself on their food. Great atmosphere and the pizzas we had were delicious. We are looking forward to going back when the patio is open on a night when they have live musicians playing.

Cambium - gets 5 stars from me across the board. The atmosphere is great, an eclectic mix of industrial, west coast with a cabin feel thrown in. The service is bar none - the best - the staff is there when you need them, and invisible when you are talking, telling stories and enjoying the folks at your table. The food is something to write about and I have not had a bad meal here. The food manages to be both pretty and tasty and the portion sizes are perfect, at the end of your meal you are full, but dont need a wheelbarrow to get to the car.

What a beautiful spot for a unique cider tasting experience and incredible farm to table dinner! Making a reservation was easy and the service was wonderful. We each tried flights of cider and ended up going home with mixed six packs of cider because it was too hard to choose a favourite. I m excited to go back for lunch in their outdoor seating area and try a wood fired pizza. Would highly recommend!

Today it was my first time visiting Cambium Cider Co. in the 23 years I visited Vernon. During my quest to visit every restaurant, café, and eatery in Vernon since July 2021, this was my 86th venue visited in Vernon. One of my closest friends performed here as a singer. There is a ton of seating here. Indoors, patio in front of the stage, and picnic tables in the orchard. Not every picnic table has an umbrella so the sun may be intense if you pick the wrong table and burn easily. The picnic tables are great if you have a big dog with you. The cider flights are $16 dollars. After tax and an 18 percent tip it comes to $19.10. As someone who has visited every winery in Lake Country, that is double the price of their $8 wine flights. However, the cider flight is close to twice as much in size. I tried the sweet flight. My Sweet Cider Flight Ranking: 1) Raspberry Tart 2) Vanilla Plum 3) Sweet Cherry 4) Apricot Ginger The first three are really good. The apricot ginger was the only one I didnt like. However, I went to a cidery in Southeast Kelowna when my best friend and I visited seven cideries and wineries in Southeast Kelowna last winter, and didnt like their ginger cider. The music playlist was 60s slow jams. Multiple songs from Tarantino films including that Al Green song from Pulp Fiction. The food menu was bigger than expected. I considered buying food, but the cider flight was a priority and I wasnt in the mood for a $40 meal. Overall, I enjoyed my scenic walk to Camboum Cider and my cider-infused walk back home. Both servers who helped me were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.

Lovely evening for my first time at this restaurant the food was amazing and the server very polite and accomadating. Would go back, you should hire Marsha Thomson, she has been trying to get in to sing and you are missing an amazing singer, I went to her concert a few weeks ago and she wowed the crowd.

So amazing! They are pet friendly in the orchard which was what sold us in the first place. Delicious drinks and phenomenal food made it a great stop! We will buy the ciders anytime we are in Vernon and will bring the pets.

We along with 18 friends just had a birthday celebration at Cambium. It was on a Thursday night so menu was limited. Most of us had a pizza. I did not think there was such a thing as a bad pizza but no one enjoyed their pizza. We all felt it was bland and lacked flavour. We could not even finish our pizza. Rather disappointing.

I definitely recommend this place. The staff are very attentive, which is really appreciated. The weather was quite good and as we only came for a drink we were placed in the middle of the orchard, a very beautiful spot, and as soon as the weather turned bad they placed us directly inside, at the bar. Both inside and outside are very pleasant. The ciders are good, and theres a good variety to choose from.

Beautiful set up inside and outside with being able to sit in the orchard itself. Only downside was our waitress forgot about us for 20 minutes but she brought a free drink afterwards.

Absolutely a beautiful venue. The pizza doesn t match the venue though. We had a large group and the majority who ordered pizza were unfortunately dissatisfied! No flavour! As a retired restaurant owner we always wanted to hear where we could have done better. To match the food with the ambiance more care should be taken in the pizza area of your menu! A beautiful spot to spend a evening with friends. I cant say there is a restaurant that compares in ambiance, its tucked away in a Apple orchard and the whole dining experience was something youd expect to find in a big city center. I really loved the food, the service and the cider. Staff is prompt and friendly.

I surprisingly the uniqueness of the dry cider flight over the sweet one, both still very good. We loved the clams, and the surprise me pizza. It had peaches which were so unique but added to overall flavour. Lamb was out next favorite dish.

For all the years Ive been coming to Vernon Im shocked to say that I have never been here before. Everything about this place was great, the food, drinks, atmosphere and staff. It is a locally owned and run business with a great back story. I will absolutely be coming back the next time Im in town.

Had a wonderful time at Cambium Cider for week night dinner and live music. The tasting flights are wonderful and the week night pizza is very tasty. The live band was a really fun jazz group that added to an already lovely ambiance. They do have a more expanded menu on the weekend as well

Having worked in a restaurant for nearly 50 years, I feel very qualified to know the difference between service and that which goes way beyond. With no reservation, 3 of us showed up on Saturday Aug 19and we were greeted by what we thought was the hostess. Due to the wildfires and air advisories, we were told that much of the seating had to be reduced ( no outside seating to respect the health of their employees) and we had to be turned away because they were at full capacity. At 64 years of age, trust me - it was the nicest turn down Ive ever received. With a full house to attend to, not only did Melissa offer to make us a reservation for the following day, but she went so far as to take the time to make us a reservation for dinner elsewhere for that night. ( It turned out to be a great recommendation!) I, we, were more than happy to return the following night to enjoy a very memorable meal hosted by Kellisa, our server, who was very knowledgeable and attentive. We enjoyed a live band playing Spanish music while we all thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. I dont often go out for dinner because when I do it is difficult for me to have a customer experience, I always put myself in the shoes of the staff working there. Watching them...., are they smiling...., do they seem sincere or is it just another shift they cant wait to get through? I am usually less likely to review a restaurant Ive gone to unless I had something to learn from the experience, and although it may be lost to most people not in the industry, when amazing service is provided, it is supposed to be be invisible and not even noticed. This kind of service was hard not to notice! Earl

We used to come here quite often when it was Bx - and I must say, the new look and feel are fantastic! Amazing food (the bread was so good that we wanted to take a loaf home but they were sold out), great atmosphere, and some of the better cider we ve had in the area. The new vibes of the place are a bit more fancy, but still very welcoming. The patio is big and a great place to hang out. Could not recommend Cambium enough!

Had a fantastic evening with friends listening to live music. The cider is good and the pizza tasty, but I wish they had some other food options that were more middle of the road pricing. The entries are just too pricy and Im not sure I saw anyone order them the last two times I was there. Other than that, the venue is beautiful and relaxed.

Very nice, trendy, modern, food is delicious, a bit pricey, atmosphere is wonderful in the evening. The cider selection is terrific, even if your not a cider person.

Great ciders and flights. Didnt eat but it looks great. It wasnt busy so they let us make our own flights - otherwise, theyre preset. Whisky aged sour cider is worth a pint and a half!

Seriously, this place is a gem. We had our dinner and flights of cider in the orchard because the couple we were with had a dog, and it was utterly pleasant. Im not normally a cider drinker but Cambium converted me. The wood fired pizzas had the perfect texture and great flavour. Then as we were leaving, a 6-piece jazz band was setting up by the patio; tragically we couldnt stay for that.

This hidden gem is worth going to! We are new to the area & while out exploring came upon this place; as we entered we realized it was more than just a tasting place, there s an amazing restaurant that serves delicious food. We enjoyed all of the ciders via flights, and ordered a snack, everything was fabulous & the staff is wonderful! Very ambient facility, it s our kind of place, we will be back!

Reviewing the restaurant - weekend full menu. Simply the best meal weve been served at a restaurant in Vernon in the 11 years weve lived in this amazing city. Around the table we ordered most of the entrees - Pork (two ways), Lamb (two ways), Ribeye, and Chicken. All were very creatively prepared, well seasoned, and perfectly finished (mostly on smoky charcoal). The service was attentive, informative, and friendly. We love the ciders at Cambium (will always be BX to me!), and its highly recommended to pair ciders with the meals - avoid the temptation to order wine. Our group of 4 shared the featured pizza, warmed olives (to die for - order this!), and a salad with our entrees. Everything was excellent. Weve been several times for the lunch menu, and the wood fired pizzas and charcuterie boards are superb as well. The chef at Cambium should be commended on raising the bar significantly of the Vernon food scene. Bravo!

It was an absolutely amazing experience dining at Cambium. The service was very prompt/professional and very clear. The food was spectacular, bursting with flavor. The ciders are super tasty, highly recommend trying the float. All in all, you cant go wrong with a dinner or lunch at Cambium! Great job guys!

Growing up in the neighborhood and watching the changes Cambium has been through, I initially wasnt sure what to expect! Recently, however, we had a work event hosted by Cambium, and I am more than impressed. The staff was incredibly accommodating with my (many) dietary restrictions, and the food was superb. I loved every bite. Special thanks to Missy for making sure all went smoothly.

Nice room. Only dined once and the food was somewhat creative yet not executed well. All the proteins we tasted were underseasoned (seems like a Vernon thing) and there were 2 very pungent vegetables paired with my entree overwhelming the dish. Wasnt overly impressed.

The tasting area is nice and some tables located in the orchard, the rest on the patio. We had tasted a flight of dry and a flight of sweet, each $12 + tax which I felt was very reasonable for 4 tastings in each flight. None of the ciders appealed to me so did not purchase any. Found that their prices are high $10 for a 500 ml bottle. Glad I went but not a place I would go again.

The ciders were ok didnt like that you couldnt mix and match the cider flights it was either dry flight sweet flight or their premium flights. Also didnt see any ciders on tap so couldnt get growler fills, this could be due to it was under renovation at the time

Wow! This crew has just stepped it up several notches. Same great cider, in-the-orchard feel, live music, etc, with added incredible menu items, ambience and year round dining. Chef Christian put out some amazing meals (we had coal roasted beet salad, seared albacore tuna, fire grilled chicken- crispy&juicy!, and the 10oz AAA ribeye-grilled perfectly), Missy and Trevor ensured we were well taken care of and the rest of the staff were friendly and efficient. Cambium is a new treasure of Vernon you are sure to enjoy time and again at the Bx Orchard, whether it s for a cider tasting or a sit down meal!

This place is the best spot in Vernon to sit back and enjoy a refreshing drink! The staff go above and beyond with hospitality and make you feel like family. I really like the way the assign flights into categories of sweetness and have to say their cherry and peach cider is the best Ive ever had. Beats any cider Ive had in the lower mainland and Kelowna area.

Had a fantastic evening at the new Cambium restaurant. It s rare to find beautiful ambiance, excellent food, and fantastic service. They provided all three. You d never know they only opened three days ago, and were short staffed. We re so lucky to have such a gem in our town.

The new renovation looks amazing! We loved coming here before, but now it s a whole new experience. Reserving a spot for dinner was a very easy process- I bet they will fill up fast! The service was some of the best I ve received, you can tell right away that they value customer loyalty and enjoy creating relationships with the locals. The cider is always top tier, we were asked to pick our favourite and it was almost impossible. Even the plates for the dishes were gorgeous and the food we were recommended from their new chef was stunning. Fine dining in Vernon just got a whole lot better - this is a place that the town truly needed! Go check it out!

Beautiful overhaul to the old location. Great cider as always, a food menu that is inspired by locally sourced ingredients and a nice stage for live music all come together for a great experience. Highly recommend checking it out!

We attended their first harvest dinner tonight. Outstanding food & service. The cider pairings were excellent. We were very impressed that they used local produce and the wine was from the Ancient winery also worth a visit. We have now experienced a meal and an afternoon tasting. Highly recommend both experiences.

Wow! The renovations to the cidery are absolutely beautiful and the food, service and cider were all unreal. I went to celebrate my birthday and the evening was amazing from start to finish. Seriously can t recommend this place enough!

Theyve done a great job on the new restaurant and we had a fabulous dinner. Some may be disappointed by the lack of extensive wine list, but it has to do with their agriculture license, forcing them to promote their Cider, which is sure to please most diners.

Love the new restaurant with the same incredible cider. Blown away by the food, presentation, ambience and service. So impressed. So happy Vernon has a restaurant of this calibre. The cider cocktails were a fun surprise.

The 3 course dinner we had at Cambium last night was one of the best meals we ve had in the Okanagan in the 30 years we ve lived here. The service, music and cider pairings were equally brilliant. Bravo!
