Kelly O'Bryan's Restaurant in Vernon

Been there two times in as many weeks. First time the potato skin were served cold, second time almost petrified, wafer thin, quesadillas with minimum cheese. Very bland, but the place was busy so it must be the new normal. Not for me, but to be fair most other restaurants in BC and Alberta are the same. Mediocre Service was good both times. If I go back it will for beer only. Better food value next door at the DQ(where I went after the quesadillas).

Food was good, portions are still okay(not great), service was awesome. Love the free birthday meal and the atmosphere is great. We had a great meal at KOB. Big drink list (makes it hard to pick just one) with amazing and friendly service. Looking forward to the new KOB opening in Chilliwack.

Our server was lovely and all in all service was great. But how Kelly O s as a brand can get off charging for the quality you get is perplexing to me. Go support a local restaurant before this chain you ll get more and it ll taste better. *EDIT* (Because I dont know if you can reply) Yes, Kelly Os is local to BC and being a franchise now you have some safety in that. Your fans are going to keep coming back, your pachos are good. When Im saying local I mean support somewhere like Pane Vino theyre food is fantastic, great quality and they dont have the brand recognition on their side like Kelly Os. Your chicken burger that I had is one of the most expensive in the valley and the quality wasnt there. So if someone has read this far in to my rant and youre wavering on where to go. All Im saying is maybe try somewhere new that you havent heard of cause its hard times out there and you might discover something rad. Even try Erica Janes happy hour (Kelly Os owned), they have a burger for less than Kelly Os chicken burger and I bet its way better.

Stopped in here during a ride through the area on Sunday night. Had the beef dip and lattice fries. Food was great, de jus was rich and thick, great staff and good price. Very happy and enjoyed it!

Been coming to Kelly O s since I was a kid, and have noticed things have just not been great the last couple of years. Tonight compelled me to finally write a review because it was so frustrating. It was a busy night, but the servers clearly weren t equipped to handle that many tables. The drinks were over priced and tasted watered down. I ordered a whiskey sour which had a hint of wet dog smell and was terribly made ($14 by the way) I was brought the wrong food order. The food runner didn t tell my server that my food was wrong, but I was so hungry because it took forever that I ate what was brought to me. My Hubby s sandwich bread was rock hard and hurt to eat. It was just an all around terrible experience. Sad that Kelly o s just isn t what it used to be. It s very overpriced subpar pub food at best these days.

Ordered fish and chips, chips were soggy and cold, fish was not great just edible. Disappointed will not be back. It would be nice to see a kitchen put food out to be proud of. Lets up our standards please.

Came here after a camping trip, and we had our dog with us. Very nice patio and dog friendly, they even gave her a treat! The food was delicious and the service was great!

me and three other people all got sick within an hour of leaving the restaurant. im still going through it two days later. the service was awful. we stood at the door waiting to be sat for about 15 mins while we saw open tables and the servers and hosts were walking past us and could clearly see us standing there. ordered one drink each and couldnt bare how sugary they were. didnt even taste like there was alcohol in them. not worth the $180 bill just to get sick. spend your money somewhere else.

4 of us went out for my BD dinner tonight ( it was my 66th) & I have never been so disappointed. I m almost positive that our 1st server forgot to put our order in. After 2 drinks we still hadn t even received our deep fried pickles (we aren t fast drinkers) & this was 1.5 hrs after we arrived. I had to ask our new server where our pickles were. She had to put a push order in. It was still more than a 3/4 hr before we got our meal that 3 of us were very disappointed in. Cold fish & chips, tough roast beef dinner & an only spicey creole chicken & prawns with little to no taste & prawns had soft tails. 5 tables that arrived after us were served as we still sat there hungry. Management needs to hire new cooks & prep cooks if they can t do the job. Thank god my meal was free because that s all it was worth. Surprising a month ago the meals our kids & us came for her birthday it was fantastic. Our last server was extremely embarrassed & felt badly. The restaurant did cover our 1st round of drinks but that still isn t enough

This was my first time dinning at Kelly OBryan restaurant and I was very impressed with everything The food was excellent and delicious , the staff were cheerful and helpful and answered my questions. I got excellent value for the money spent. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday. I would recommend the Kelly OBryan restaurant to anyone.

The food was great. Servers are not learning the way to serve tables is to ensure water glasses are filled and about 3 to 5 minutes after food is served to enquire about the meals. Watch the table and as the plates are being finished up to ask if there is anything more people would like. If they are having drinks watch as the glass goes down and if theyd like another.

I was there for my birthday and looked forward to their fabulous patchos but was so underwhelmed this time. I raved to my friends about going there for them because they were always so good. The patcho dipping sauce though is always the star!!

Great place to go for your birthday dinner!! But it does get quite noisy, music abit too loud.

The service was great! I actually felt bad for our waitress considering the fantastic kitchen staff. They think that musty shaved prime rib is the same as short rib! I sent it back, and the kitchen told our waitress that they shaved the meat off the bone. OMG LOL WOW. I then ordered chicken fingers, you can t mess that up right . Well 30 mins later I m told that my order is not close to ready. I canceled everything. The front of house staff deserve a raise when they have to deal with kitchen staff who have no ambition.

The quantity of food is not consistent but the service and atmosphere is always good. I find all locations to be kept quite clean.

I had a lamb burger and pachos, both were delicious. I loved the goat cheese and sauce on it. My friend had the beef stew and thought it was great too. Our server was excellent and very friendly.

We celebrated 1 birthday and then 2 more in the same week. Menu was large enough we didnt worry about finding something new. Amazing staff, and manager! Food was great. Top notch team!

I went here for a friends birthday. I had their pachos to start and a lamb burger for my entree, both of which were fine but in no way exceptional. The soup which came with the burger was far and away the best part of my meal. Unfortunately, several in my party did not fair as well as I did. Two of them had their meals arrive cold and a third had the bread that came with their meal too hard to eat. Our beverage orders were a total mess with some arriving wrong and some arriving a full ten minutes after the test. One person received refills on his soda faster than he could drink them while the other two at the table with soda never received any refills at all. To top it all off, while the decor and outfits on the staff were fun, it was kind of lost on those of us who were lighter dressed as it was notably cold. Despite some interesting options for dessert, we ended up leaving and going across the street to Dairy Queen because we didnt want to risk any further misadventure.

Fantastic place to take my family for an evening out

Came for date night was craving a bloody steak so I ordered the rib eye and got served a piece of wallmart. So if you want steak dont come here.

Well not a good experience, decided to order some food and it all looked like was thrown at a wall before the takeout containers. I was a long time customer from way back when the kelowna restaurant opened and I have to say the quality has taken a serious dive. I payed over 100 bucks for something that was terribly assembled and then stood at the order pickup table and got ignored while the bar staff stood around. Not pleased and will not be back .

I had the Beef Stroganoff and it was pretty darn good! Great tasting garlic bread as well.

Emerald sauce hits hard

Going to Kelly Os is alway a must when near one. Pachos with Emerald Isles sauce or McCracken Rolls are so tasty! I have never had a bad meal at a Kelly Os.

It was some of the best Irish food Ive had in a long time. Had the Bangers n Mash and would definitely have it again. The dry ribs were done to perfection fall off the bone. The staff were grand too.

First time a the Vernon location. Nice patio. Service was slow, but there was only one person serving the whole patio! Chicken burger was dry, other meals were great. Prime Rib ws superb!

Drive in from Calgary today and really needed a decent meal and some relaxation time. Service was on point, knowledgeable and friendly. We were drinking no alcohol beers and glad to see they had a good selection of options. Food was very good and came out quick. The happy hour specials were fair prices and good choice. Will be back.

Tasty (and much) food, friendly staff, just a bit noisy with the tv, water fountain and all the guests talking.

This is a long one, ready? Their burgers are delicious (double patties!) and panchos are always yummy. We ll keep coming for the 2-4-1 appies after nine, the best way to enjoy friends and good food. Otherwise, the prices (that were already much higher than a few years ago) seem to have jumped even more (posted a new menu pic) and the quality of non burger items isn t what it used to be. Worse yet, the double Pattie s have shrunk. The fajitas, at $20+ dollars came with ground beef rather than strips of steak/beef as per my expectations/ personal enjoyment and the pepper ratio was seven green to one red slice, not great for flavour balance (might I suggest 3-1 at the max). Not too many onions in it either. The good of it is that there was plenty of toppings, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, flour tortillas, sour cream and salsa (could have used a bit more salsa). UPDATE: Fajitas no longer available. The Panchos upgrade is five fifty now (remember those two dollar days?) for a buck worth of cheese and chives while the portion size may have shrunk somewhat. The spinach and artichoke dip is gone, the teriyaki beef bites are gone, fajitas are gone and the broccoli bacon soup is basically puréed into a drink in a bowl. Granted, it never was thick and chunky... that s not soup that s a stew. Anyway, there should be some hint of bacon pieces (not fake bacon bits) and a couple pieces, am I right? It s still a decent sit down family meal place but to spend around (or over) $100 for a family of four or five we ll stick to one of the other local places for $10-$15-ish a meal/person. Although we didn t leave hungry so that s a plus.

The cajun chicken and prawns was an out of this world mouthwatering delight - husband said there was a party inside his mouth. Lucy was an amazing server!! I had the lips and chips and they ate always yummy!! Everything at Kelly O Briens, and Vernon is fantastic! Thank you again for another amazing meal and experience!

I took a client in a wheelchair to Kelly O Bryans. There is a double door entrance with no push button automatic door opener so awkward to enter the restaurant. Not one staff came to assist in opening either doors but could visibly see 3 staff by the bar. Once inside the waitress and the food was good. My client had to use the washroom. In order to get her into the handicap stall we had to hold open the entrance door in order to maneuver the turn to get into the handicap stall blocking anyone else in entering the washroom. I believe that management/owner of Kelly O Bryans should step up to make this restaurant actually wheelchair accessible. This is 2023 and I don t think this is accessible for anyone in a wheelchair.

Soup is just great!

Being the only pup friendly patio in town . Myself and Greta Garbo have been a few times this week (From Edmonton). Ryan is a fantastic server as well as the others! Ryan really looked after us and Greta really loves the staff! Meals are fantastic! Dietary restrictions: I told Ryan that I couldn t have beef and both times he did a really great good picking out dishes for me!

I like Kelly O s. Decent food. Dont order the steak. Over priced for what is delivered. Cheap cuts, sold high. overcooked both times, probably because they re only a half inch thick. Stick with the pub fair.

The only issue I had was that it was really loud on the patio - which is not really their fault. Dietary restrictions: They had options on the menu for those who are vegan, vegetarian, and those with wheat allergies. Parking: Plenty of parking in both their lot and the dairy queen next door. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is level, so there is no issue of accessibility for strollers and wheelchairs.

Never had Pachos before and these were amazing! However, I do wish they had an option for just regular beef as Im not a fan of spicy food and their burger for this is spicy. The McCracken Rolls were absolutely amazing! I was debating trying these, but so was so glad I did. You do only get 4 though and would have preferred 6 for the price and for my stomach lol. The waitress we had was very friendly and engaged in conversation. The atmosphere when we went was more quiet as it was for a later lunch which was perfect for us. My sister in law got the cheesecake and said it was amazing! PC my brother.

Took 20 mins to get a drink order. Our server took the order, the manager delivered waters for us, apologized for the wait. The server comes to our table with waters, surprised that we already had some. Server disappears....wait another 15/20 mins, still hadnt taken our order. Manager shows up with our drink order so she takes our food order for us. Food comes out quick - thankfully. When the food is done, we ask for our bill from our server. 10 mins..... She returns with the bill and its wrong. Manager returns with the correct bill. Wouldnt return or recommend.

Our waitress, Karlee, served us with calm, patience, and smiling the whole time. We were a party of 14 celebrating a Birthday. Our food was incredibly delicious, our drinks refreshed often and felt she went over and above. Its been a long time since Ive had such a huge group have such impeccable meal like that. Overall it was good. I remember pachos being better as a kid. Its not that they were bad, because they were fine. But if you want extra cheese and bacon prepare to shell out extra 15 to 16 bucks. Good service and decent food.

The service was fantastic! We had a group of 8, and the girl rocked it. The food was really good, there are lots of options to choose from! The drink menu...omg, huge. Staff wear kilts, its a cute pub/restaurant. Prices are a wee bit high. Thats the only downfall. But its worth a visit....have their famous Potchos! Kid-friendliness: Kids allowed.

Unfortunately my friends and I had a not-so-good experience at Kelly O s in Vernon this past Friday misunderstanding around ordering singles vs doubles. Update Oct 25: i had a conversation with the General Manager; he was grateful for the feedback and he clarified that this was an error. He plans to ensure that all staff are clear on their liquor policies. Much appreciated.

Reserved a table for a birthday party for my 22 yr old son. Was a fabulous experience! The atmosphere is pleasing, music is not too loud, food was delicious and well-present and the employees were friendly and fast. All around a perfect evening! I highly recommend!! PS- The servers made room for my 3 yr old granddaughter and another child from a table nearby to have a dance party together. It was adorable and kept the little ones entertained!

The fried pickels were awesome. The fish was a bit greasy. Very busy restaurant, even on the weekdays.

Dined here twice during a week long work related course. Carly and Cassy helped us out and were nothing short of exceptional. If you re in the Vernon don t put self a favour and check it out. Way better than earls!

$18.95 for 6 Chicken Wings? RIDICULOUS

I normally dont post reviews however my experience recently here was honestly ridiculous. I was mentally physically and emotionally exhausted this week and all I wanted was to just relax and grab a bite to eat at a favourite resteraunt. My mother had tagged along for the trip and had issues with hearing since a workplace accident. All she asked was for the music to be turned down a bit (it was the middle of the day and we were directly under the speakers, so we thought it was fair enough to accomadate). Server reply: this is a pub and will you be o.k here? To me this essentially meant are you in the right place? You are not welcome here... I was already too tired to argue even and wondered afterwards why not just offer to move us to another empty table away from the noise (My feedback: inquire about customer needs and accomodate as best as possible). So we just ordered food, I ordered a classic since the resteraunt had opened lips and chips with pachos. Another server had brought a pachos for one with no chicken at all. So I looked at it and simply said to the server this is not what I ordered. The original server come back and became defensive and said I had asked you if you wanted plain fries ... In my head Im thinking to myself: am I having a stroke. I clarified cant you normally get pachos with lips and chips. Her reply No they normally come with fries. My mother backs up and states he had ordered earlier lips and chips with pachos. So I knew at that point there was some miscommunication and just thought to myself that doesnt explain why you brought out 2 pachos for one with no chicken. The server was so focused on the fries part of the order, the pachos which were correct but didnt address where the chicken was. The server then spoke up again along the lines of I have been a server here since 2015 and the lips and chips has never come with pachos I can show you the menu... so do you want your food or not. At that point I just gave up because I was already exhausted that day and did not want to argue anymore and simply said no. Overall feedback: Obviously miscommunication involved - properly clarify in a non-defensive/aggressive manner (ie. I have been working here since 2015, which was essentially an attempt to exert authority over a customer that has been ordering with you since the place initially opened ) Lastly, get to know your customers, inquire needs and accommodate; dont be complacent. You have customers coming back to you since the place opened and rely on. Being able to have those conversations on what brings you in today, how has your day been adds to customer engagement and serving staff used to do it all the time there. Granted the server could have been having personal stuff going on or was having a bad day already. But it should never be directed towards customers. The server could have replied with open non-judgemental questions such as what seems to be the issue with the order. I would have just replied I ordered lips and chips, I am just missing the chicken . Server could the respond I am sorry about that, let me fix that. Would have been a way nicer way of clarifying and prevented the whole fiasco...not entirely sure where she got the idea the pachos part of the order was wrong...

Just the most wonderful place to be!

We stopped for lunch and it was happy hour, mccrackenrolls chicken lips and pachos, everything was 100%

Came in on a Sunday after a long drive. Asked for a Guinness and my girlfriend had the Caesar. Our server was very nice and checked in often. Unfortunately that s where everything positive ended. My pint of Guinness was an absolute joke. It was bad enough that I even asked if a bartender had poured it. Our server replied possibly they were at the end or running low on Guinness. Ordered two more after the first and they were slightly better but still horrid. Bartender tried but obviously doesn t know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness. Over all we ordered one appetizer, three pints, one cocktail, and two mains. The stuffed mushrooms were flavorless and even though I ordered a steak sandwich medium rare it came out as stiff as a brick. Overall it was an extremely terrible experience aside from our server. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone. Bartender should have a proper lesson on how to pour a pint of Guinness (EDIT) On top of everything we heard a kitchen staff member yell profanity and slam a pan so loud it was audible across the entire restaurant. Entire establishment is a joke.

We came in on the weekend with our sons Hockey Team, Luke was our server, he was an absolute pleasure, we were not an easy group but our drinks and food came out promptly and he was very friendly. Great job Luke, thank you for making our experience great, we will be back

Im actually starting to believe they keep separate bins of three day old food aside to use for peoples discounted birthday meals.

I had dinner here with my cousin I hadnt seen in a long time. I am a bartender in the off season and a firefighter in the spring and summer. I went for a smoke and a gentleman came over and said I needed to leave my purse or phone. I was on my phone so I left my purse, which he put behind the bar. I dont ask this of my customers but ok. He then came out to check on me to say my food was ready. Thats ok, except it was to see if I was still there. You have my purse. Im not going anywhere. His reason was they had a lot of walk outs. I dont treat my customers like this. I make them welcome and not feel like they are stealing from you when I hadnt even had my dinner yet. I got my dinner to go.

The ambience was nice but we waited for several minutes to be just greeted, and found the food and service to be poor, two of three orders were mixed up and the food arrived cool. Ordered the (dissapointing) Prime Rib. Food

Always a great experience. Was impressed by the manner the staff interacted with the youth sports team that was there when we were. As a long time coach Ive seen the difference in the way some establishments treat their youth customers.

Here I experienced a great birthday lunch & received a $20 discount off for my birthday lunch! I had their delicious chicken quesadillas with salsa & sour cream. I enjoyed my time here, & the food & service was great! Food : 5/5
