Taco Del Mar in Vernon

Pulled up to the parking lot with another car beside me, alcoholic cans of something beside their car. Two young people. The car backed out, running over the cans, and took off despite me looking right at them in disgust. I go inside the Taco Del Mar. The Owner/person working in the back has a thick-non Canadian accent. The employee who is going to take my order is a young rather large girl with short blue hair. I ask her if a young couple just came in and told her about the alcoholic cans in the parking lot (WHICH I PUT IN THE TRASH!) And she said I know those people And left it at that. (they were friends). I got the two-burrito special that is on Saturday and (I got guac) it came to $36.50 Canadian!!! It was the special! Absolute crap experience start to finish. And all the portion sizes were smaller than when I had gone before. The ground beef ladel was TINY. The medium soft drink cups were smaller too, as was the rice/beans. If Im not being clear, this amount of food is not worth $36. The food was okay and every other aspect was awful.

Just had a bad experience with staff and likely wont be back. Been coming here for years and gave a good review before. I went inside and ordered a enchilada platter with a taco. The girl working was new and didnt know she shouldnt add guac and sour cream to the taco. The guy work long hair was giving her a hard time saying it was wrong but when he gave tips just sounded so annoyed the girl got flustered. Once that was done I asked for gauc on the rice like its normally done and was told no I cant because they accidentally added it to the taco earlier. At that point I didnt want to eat there since there was a few minor mistakes but the employee acting so annoyed and bothered makes me not want to come back. The girl was flustered but the guy with long hair needs to chill out and give the customer what is listed on the menu item

Great burrito, loved the hot sauce it was not too hot very enjoyable, I had the reaper hot sauce so dont be too afraid of it! When you get your burrito make sure you dont immeditly discard the foil or you will make a mess...tear it off as you eat.

Food absolutely not worth it ... they nickle and dime you. Barely out any protein in the food.

After picking up some groceries we were suddenly starving. We popped in to Taco Del Mar for the 1st time. The woman working was very friendly and helpful. I gotta say the burritos were delicious. But ... the brownie was divine. We will definitely be back.

Omg Sooooo good. Service was fast, friendly, and I love when they make recommendations on what just came out fresh. Hard to believe we could get two burritos, with fresh ingredients, cheaper than we could go to a fast food chain! Excellent. Eat here.

It s 2 because when they get it right, it s delicious, but this is the second time that I ve ordered something with ONIONS and instead got OLIVES. I hate olives. So maybe touch up on reading the order and it would get more stars

I had a taco salad & was very dissatisfied it was cold & the bowl tasted awful. My husband had a burrito bowl & it was cold was very dissatisfied. My daughter had a burrito & was not happy with it.

I really like Taco Del Mar. Its fast food but its tasty. I eat vegan and the vegan burritos and taco salads are filling and good. For a quick meal, its great. Its not a restaurant style mexican food place as Im sure most know. Easy location and friendly staff too.

BEST MEXICAN PLACE EVER

Great experience. We placed a large order for a family of six: they then had an oven failure. Without skipping a beat, the manager offered us an upgraded menu choice in place of the daily special they couldnt make for us, at the price of the daily special. All the staff as well as the manager were excellent, friendly. The food was *tasty*. Good job and thanks to the staff here.

I went with the idea of getting seafood I mean the places name del mar but you get same lame 4 options of tacos and freezer supermarket fish, with lots of American topings they just use the mexican Hook to make you paid a lot for cheap can food. Service is quick, not friendly or happy but they deliver. For me the tortillas are the closest to real but is a waist because what they put inside is bad

First time going today and I absolutely loved it. They have a ton of options for gluten free diets and were able to tell me exactly what was safe to eat. Will definitely be going back again!

Normally this is a wonderful place to get quality food for great value... until lately. I have been ordering kids meals for my children for years and its always been a generous portion for them. The last few times Ive noticed the portions getting smaller and the prices being raised (and the staff being quite argumentative when I pointed out that they charged more than what was in the menu board) Today, we ordered for pickup and the burritos were not much more than tortillas wrapped and steamed. They were difficult for my children to chew and had no flavour ... mostly because there was no filling. As you can see in the picture, the burrito is not much wider than my thumb. The rice and beans container was less than half full as well. Not sure whats going on but I certainly hope they can sort it out.

This place is a mess, unclean, the seating areas were a horrific mess, the food was terrible, everything looked like slop in a pigs trough. My food was flavourless and I would never go back here again.

We love Taco Del Mar! Its a staff favourite of DoTheOkanagan.com and weve always had great food there. Our faves: enchilada platters, the massive burrito and the taco salad. Its also enough food to feed 4 people and we can never seem to spend more than $25. Definitely recommend.

Cheap but very tasty, free parking, easy access, you can order ahead and get quick pick-up. Whats not to like?

We came in on a Tuesday night after buying stuff for our new home. We hadn t been to a taco del mar in a long time and we felt bad going in a half hour before close but the food was as good as ever. It s fast food so with that in mind it s excellent. They wrap their tacos well, their safe and accommodating. No regrets.

Always get the burrito with a spinach wrap and its always good. Like that they have punch cards now so I can get money off when its full.

Great little place. This was my first time eating at a Taco Del Mar and it was quite good. A bit spicier than I was expecting but thats not a problem for me! Otherwise a good quick stop though!

Good food, bad plastic. I eat here often and love the food, fair pricing, and prompt service but I always feel a bit rude eating with plastic cutlery on plastic plates. I wonder how much, if any, of it gets recycled. I wonder what sort of impact it would make to their bottom line to offer normal, washable, reusable cutlery for dine-in customers.

Time and time again taco del mar obviously just destroys my cravings! Thanks for a decade of love now! Never once had a bad time in ten years and everyone loves a taco.

This little store makes a great burrito. Many options to choose from when building your taco or burrito. Meatless options as well as salad options. The staff were helpful quick. Fairly competitive pricing and portion sizes are fairly large. Good place to take out from. The seating area isnt very big.

Haven t been to Taco Del Mar in many years. Ordered two hard shell tacos (one shredded beef / one pork) and their baja chicken bowl. Tacos had plenty of filling, and good crunch. The medium hot sauce, failed in the department of being spicy (that just might be my taste). The baja chicken bowl, is deceiving in that there s a fair amount of everything. Would even go as far to say it is balanced with variety. Goes very well with their spicy hot sauce, that has just enough kick, to liven up the flavours. The only negative, would be the price. Yes, it s better quality ingredients than Taco Time, but let s not get carried away. Thank you to the staff for a quick and friendly experience.

Best place if you want cheap tacos on a tues or and day of the wee and they have the best burritos also and the service is fast each time I think of.

I personally was not impressed maybe it was just the evening my spouse and I went they were super cheap with guacamole even after asking for extra they didnt put that much on our burritos also something tasted very plasticky to me but would definitely be willing to give it another shot I mean they seem busy so they must be good just happened to go in on a fairly busy evening I hope to have a better experience next time! :)

Delicious fast food burritos that you wont regret having eaten 30 minutes afterwards. The burritos are large, delicious and very filling. One burrito is enough for a meal. If you get a regular burrito with guac and sour cream its about $10. A small is about $8 and is more than enough for my significant other.

If you wanna get an american burrito in Vernon, taco del Mar is pretty much the only place but that definitely isnt a bad thing. Its basically subway, but texmex. Good food but a bit too expensive in my opinion.

4 star ... BUT ... were paying for the guacamole so STOP being cheap with it. They spread as little as they can on the burritos. Seriously its paid for so maybe a lil more or you are about to loose some customers.

Fast and friendly. Daily specials. Good value! Added 3 weeks later- Came in today for tacos. Food was good as always. But had to wait in line an extra 10 minutes so Skip the dishes orders could be filled. Sad customers in person are not the priority. The young lady was kind and apologetic but the older lady was snarky.

I visit here when I want a guaranteed GREAT meal every single time. The nachos are amazing! Plus, the staff are so sweet!!
