Amarin Thai Restaurant in Vernon

Great food, warm atmosphere, fantastic service. 10/10 will go back next time I am in town. Laab salad was sooooo good.

This is not a real Thai restaurant, not authentic Thai taste but using only Thai menu. This review is written by Thai citizen. Here is what we ordered. 1. Pad krapow pork (Pork with Chilli and basil) there is no chilli in this menu which is totally wrong. The taste is not even salty and spicy but rather sweet like using hoisin sauce. 2. Yum woon sen (spicy glass noodle) there is less than 5% of glass noodle in the plate but 80% of chopped vegetable and 15% of shrimp and squid. The taste is spicy and sour but the ingredients of this menu is not ! 3. Laab chicken (spicy minced chicken) same as 2 you rarely find chicken meat in the plate (less than 15%) but only chopped mixed vegetable. The real Larb should be above 90% minced meat. 4. Tofu delight (fried tofu with vegetables) this is not Thai menu and the taste is very sweet (probably from hoisin sauce) 5. Thai hot wings this is not Thai menu as well. The right name should be buffalo wings because of its taste. Portion is not big compared to what we dined in many Thai restaurant in BC and AB.

Absolutely fantastic little Thai restaurant located in the heart of Vernon, big portions, solid prices and authentic taste. Would highly recommend!

This place is Thai food for people who don t like Thai food. Ordered take out and got drunken noodles, yellow curry, and Satay chicken. Curry way too sweet which imo shouldn t be at all with zero spice or flavour(girlfriend couldn t eat it). Drunken noodles were mushy noodles and ketchup. Satay chicken was good but small for the price. The atmosphere seemed good but it was takeout so didn t get the full experience and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately with how the food was I wouldn t recommend to anyone and I won t be ordering again.

Food was really bad. Had a red curry that had weird beans in it that tasted foul. We used to come hear years ago when in town and the service and place are good. Was shocked at the poor food quality and agree with previous review that it is not authentic Thai.

Delicious food with many vegan options!

Our first time visiting this restuarant. The Tom Yum soup was really good, as far as the rest of items go, they were not. The Amarin combo plate had dry overcooked chicken, and the spring rolls lacked flavour. We found the green curry very sweet as well as the drunken noodles, which were a very small portion. The seafood treasure was okay.

We got takeout and the servers were very nice but this was the worst pad Thai I have ever had. It tasted like overcooked noodles and ketchup.

By far the worst Pad Thai we have ever tried. Very odd tomato flavor. Couldn t eat it and left.

Family owned resto worth coming to purely for their prawn/chicken spring rolls (Royal Krung Thep rolls) 5/5 Affordable and delicious. Love that you can add an extra satay, prawn roll, of spring rolls on to your appy for under $4. Mango and guava juice on hand was cool. Satay chicken was a teeny bit bland/overdone for me peanut sauce was on point. I would love to come back and try the soups, Pad Thai, and fried rice. I would love to see more fairy lights/decor revamped too. Staff were very kind. Overall, worth the visit!

This place is adorable and the food is delicious! Went for lunch based on several reviews when I was passing through Vernon a couple days ago! The service was fantastic! The owner/chef was really talkative and sweet! I ordered tofu pad Thai and was very pleasantly surprised! Had some questionable Thai food in the Okanagan but this tasted quite authentic! Highly recommend! :)

New to thai food. Went for the first time on a quiet Monday night, some of the best food you can find around vernon.

If you havent eaten here you are definable missing out. All the dishes we had were amazing. The Sauces are in house made. Our favorite Sauces are the peanut sauce and plum sauce. The service is wonderful. The wait staff was always asking how everything was tasting, if we needed anything else, and our water glasses were never ever below half full. For me that is amazing as I drink alot water. We love the fact that it is a family run buisness. Thank you so much for the above par dining experience. We will definitely be back and we will be telling all of our friends about this hidden gem.

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! I had a blast dining here. The aesthetic is welcoming and the food is deliciously hot. Amarin Thai Restaurant is definitely my go-to from now on! If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would.

The pad thai was heinous. It was in a tomato sauce that literally tasted like there was ketchup in it. Like really really bad. Inedible bad. Chipped tea cup, no ice made before service, no paper towel in the bathroom, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the restroom.

The interior is really nicely decorated. The flavours are great, ask for the house hot sauce!! Big portions, vegan options, what more can you ask for? Vegetarian options: Menu, pad Thai, spring rolls, curry, Tom Kha.

If you close for a month maybe mention it somewhere on your google account! FYI, closed Jan 5th to Feb 1st

Excellent food in a small independent Thai restaurant. Willingness to tailor spice levels meant my wife and I were both able to enjoy our meal. Take out also available. Staff member was very friendly and the food came quickly. Parking: Free after 6pm

Best Thai in the Okanagan. Wonderful food and great service. Will be headed back for some more great Thai food. And the hot sauce is so good. Make sure to ask for the hot sauce they make in house.

Soooooooo disappointing. We used to eat here many years ago and enjoyed it but perhaps ownership has changed. We had the drunken noodles..it was terrible. Basically mushy noodles with some sauce thrown on it with a couple pieces of pork. We also ordered Gaeng Pa with chicken. It was supposed to be a curry sauce, it basically looked like chicken broth - I don t think there was any coconut milk/cream in it and very little chicken. There is no way we picked the worst dishes on the menu. We only ate 1/3 of the food and threw the rest in the garbage. We will never order from there again. There is no quality or effort put into the dishes.

Food was very delicious but can be a little inconsistent in terms of texture and spice. We ve had it a couple of times and it was delicious but the most recent time we ordered the sauce on both my order and my husbands was extremely thick and almost jello like. It was slightly unappealing. As well as my dish was much spicier than usual. I will probably try again though, could have been an off day! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan options

We shared 2 Currys and some appys between three of us. It was delicious. Their homemade hot sauce was so yummy. The only complaint I would have was the rice costs a bit, we did go for the coconut rice but still it seems expensive. And I would suggest getting the large portion but it was all very good.

Our party of 4 waited over 45 minutes for our food despite being told we were next up. Watched other tables who arrived after us get served. Quite possibly the worst thai food any of us have ever had, every dish tasted bad.

Well I hate to write this review but officially the worst Pad Thai I ve ever eaten. Visiting from another province and place came highly recommended. Sauce is definitely not tamarind based. Broccoli and carrots? Not in pad Thai. Ordered the veggie option and had about three pieces of tofu. Other dish was Pad Seew Ew and it was just as bland and tasteless. Sorry but this is an honest review. Delivery was prompt.

We had a great meal here. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. They have an extensive menu sure to fit everyones tastes. Prices were reasonable.

Best pineapple curry I ve ever had, hands down.

Ordered pad thai and it tasted like ketchup. Sad indeed. I thought this restaursnt is really struggling when I looked at the small portion size. The ketchup taste just proves they really are trying to save money.

The Panang Curry tasted like gravy with carrots and onions. The Laab was not Laab. I was so surprised at the quality of the food.

This is the most authentic thai menu Ive seen since being in Thailand. Everyone at the table ordered something different and all ten of us were so happy with our meals! Great price point, serving sizes, and quality of food.

My Panang curry only had 4 tiny pieces of chicken despite me paying extra for chicken. It was disappointing and not worth it, as the curry was good but it could have been so much better.

Was a pretty good meal. 3 pad thai and the Pad prik khing all ordered medium spice. Was not to spicy for us and all the dishes had quite a sweet flavor also. Chicken wings to start were the medium spice with sweet flavor also. Not sure if were fans of the sweetness in the dishes here. But good food in a decent space.

We had lunch here today, April 7 2022, and it was amazing!! The service was awesome!! And the food went way beyond anything we had anticipated!! Totally authentic as Mama does the cooking and the daughter was our server!! Super sweet and generous server, so gracious to us, made us feel so welcome! This is our new most fave place to eat!!

I really wanted to like this place. Its a beautiful restaurant with lots of appropriate decor. The restaurant is family owned. It had really good reviews. The pictures look pretty good, so maybe what I got was a result of a bad night or changes in their cooking... I ordered the Thai hot wings, which was described to me as an appetizer size consisting of about 6 to 8 wings. The description on this dish describes it as juicy however what I got was extremely dry. The meat was tough and chewy and barely had any chicken juice at all. The bone exposed. Very dry. I tried two of the biggest wings and then threw the rest out. However disappointing the meat was, the flavor was good and it had a spicy ginger with tangy sour sauce. Considering the price was almost $20 I do not think this dish is worth it. To be honest I wouldnt mind the price if the quality of chicken wings were up to par. For example they can include the whole wing with the tip drumlet and flat attached and take more care into frying them so that they do not result in dry tough meat. The pad Thai was good. The portions were big they give alot of noodles. They gave seven prawns. It doesnt have a strong wok or fire taste but overall is decent!

The food was delicious, amazing flavours and spices on everything. The plantain desert was great as well! The customer service was genuine and humble, I can t wait to come back and try more of their dishes. Highly recommend this place :)

Every time I come here I am always met with a delicious meal. I ve never left disappointed. Pad seeyew, pad Thai, Tom yum, pad gra paow, they were all so good. I don t think you can choose wrong here. And they have Thai beer too :)

Pad Thai was really terrible. It was like having spaghetti and tomato sauce. When I asked if this was normal to the server. She just came back and said well remove it from your bill, the food at the table next to us looked amazing and the server seemed attentive to them. They were not attentive to myself and grandmother. My food tasted fine but my grandmothers pad Thai was a disappointment, and we specifically went there because of the reviews and pictures of the amazing looking pad thai. I guess pictures dont do the food Justice and our food seemed rushed compared to others in the restaurant. Feeling disappointed

Really good customer service and a lovely little spot. My only gripe is that there was hardly any tofu in my dish. As the main source of protein, I would anticipate that there would be more than three small pieces. Ill definitely be back to try it out again

Dont normally take time to review however just had R6 Ba Mee and EXTREMEMLY disappointed!! Inflation hasnt reached point that restaurant should serve such a paltry and meager dish. Literally tablespoon of pork and 2 or 3 of broccoli and carrots. The rest dry noodles fried in teriyaki type stir fry. Basically a very mediocre dish costing restaurant probably less than $1 but charging customer $17. Beware!! On the other hand G2 Gaeng Kiew Waan curry overflowing with chicken and vegetables in tasty broth. Average of 4 stars and 0 stars is 2. I can only think two chefs with very different outlook on a quality meal.

Tasted authentic and nice interior

We had such a delicious meal here!! The menu was incredibly diverse with lots of tasty items to choose from and many vegan/vegetarian friendly options. The meal was so fresh and flavourful. The atmosphere was great, and the mother daughter duo were so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!!

This is a small quaint restaurant run by a Thai mother who is the chef and her daughter who serves the food. The menu has a great selection of authentic Thai cuisine and is prepared with all the real Thai ingredients which transforms the meal into flavor town. This is the bestThai experience in Vernon and is one of the best in BC. I miss this restaurant as I moved to the island and the Thai isnt as good here.

Amarin thai is my favorite restaurant in Vernon. The food is on point, service is great and the owner makes you feel like an old friend. Love it! Update...since this last posting i need to downgrade my stars. I have gone back to order 1 or 2 of my favorite dishes( and this has happened more than twice) that they will not adjust the heat levels on some of the dishes. They also will not tell you that when you order. The result is a dish that its heat level is so high, i cannot eat it. Ill have to find a new place for thai!!!

Ordered a soup and got half a bowl of broth, a couple of chicken pieces and 3 button mushrooms. Would not recommend.

Food was disappointing given the Google reviews. We got pad Thai, panag curry, and chicken fried rice. We got the level 3 spicy chicken fried rice but it was nothing but white rice and red chili flakes. Not even edible even though we can handle a lot of spice, had to send it back. Not a single price of chicken and very few vegetables. Panag curry was starchy. Pad Thai was unflavorful. We ordered an extra white rice with the curry and found a piece of plastic Ziploc in the rice.

The food and service were both very good.

No AC, wife had a tofu dish with two small pieces of tofu and I was not impressed with mine, vegetables were way undercooked and the shrimp were mushy.

We had the G5 red curry. Absolutely amazing! So flavourful. Would highly recommend you stop in if you are in Vernon.

We have meant to try Amarin Thai for a long time, but havent! Tonight, we were looking for a parking spot downtown, so we could figure out where we wanted to have our date night ... The first parking spot we found was in front of Amarin. It was a lovely experience from the start. Jennifer was very helpful, we havent had Thai before. She recommended a few dishes. I dont know what to say... I dont understand how this is thai food. Its like... Knockoff chinese food, at best. Specks of tofu in the food. And the taste is NOT thai at all. It tastes like cheap watery chinese food with a speck of curry spice thrown in. If you are looking for a thai restaurant with authentic food, keep looking. $54 for three vegetarian dishes that lacked flavor, texture, and authenticity...Im shocked that this place can call itself a Thai restaurant. Worst Ive had, and Ive traveled all over, including to Thailand...

Excellent food, had it twice in two days, take out for us, how ever short interaction with hostess, pleasant on the phone and at pick up.

Very bad customer service! My family and I went 45 minutes before closing but they chose not to seat us even though there was at least 3 tables available. Instead of simply telling us they already did last call, they rudely just placed a reserve sign on the table as we were asking about it. Just overall a rude experience.

So amazing. Our server was super nice and everything we ordered was amazing. Tum Yum Gai was sooooo good, I could eat that soup every day.

This was my first time back here in about ten years. Time sure flies by! It was awesome then and it is awesome today. My girlfriend and I each ordered pad Thai. If you come here between 11-2, they have a special lunch menu where some of the menu items (including pad Thai) are 13.95 instead of 15.95, and it also comes with a spring roll. Portions are the same as dinner too! It tasted really good. The hot sauce on the side was the perfect kick. My girlfriend actually finished the whole meal. She never finishes her meal. Highly recommend!

We went here based on the positive reviews. It was entirely disappointing. The satay sticks came out with next to no meat on them, especially compared to the picture and also their pricing. We hoped for the best with our mains but were extremely let down. We ordered a masaman and yellow curry and it basically came out a watery bowl of soup with a ton of vegetables. There was barely a shred of meat to be found in either of them. In the end, we had the food taken back to the kitchen and only paid for our appetisers and drinks. The waitress was friendly in the beginning but not so much when dealing with a genuine complaint. We wont be going back.

Wow... Amazing service, amazing staff, AMAZING FOOD! It was ready so quickly and there was so much! By the time we packed all our food up we have three containers that were each a full meal! Highly recommend and will be going again!!!

Excellent, underrated Thai restaurant in Vernon. Our waitress was very sweet and chatty. This restaurant caters to vegans and vegetarians: there is a vegetarian section on the menu, and the restaurant is willing to veganize dishes upon request. Their Pad Thai and spring rolls were excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised by this small unassuming restaurant tucked away so well that we almost drove past it. We walked in to find a warm and inviting atmosphere and a very pleasant server/hostess. The menu had a nice selection of choices including the option to choose your protein (chicken, beef, pork or tofu). We ordered several dishes to share and they were all excellent. I highly recommend and am looking forward to going back next time we are in the area.

Our first time ever at this restaurant and it was an absolute perfect meal! Their homemade hot sauce is to die for! The service, atmosphere and quality were all top notch!! Now one of my Vernon favourites!!!!!

Well now my hubby decided we needed to try somewhere new and we tried and we will never go back . Starting off with the coconut rice which was sooo mushy I couldn t even eat it . My glass had someone else s lip gloss on it , egg shells in my fried rice, I asked for no bean sprouts but there was a lot of them in my food anyways , I asked for very mild curry as I m breastfeeding and it will upset the baby s tummy but it was super spicy also the yellow curry ... now you would think it would be yellow but nope it was an orange colour and the texture was like nothing I ve tasted before . Neither of us ate that dish . So after I picked out the egg shells I pretty much u ate rice for dinner paid $75.00 and after we left we went n grabbed a burger bcse we were both still hungry . This was the worst food I ve tasted thus far in Vernon.

Everything tasted so good. Personally Im not a big Thai food fan because I cannot eat spicy food. But this yellow curry and tom yum kung is so good. Even tho theyre mildly spicy, I cant stop eating them.

Food was okay, but washroom (mens) was dirty, had holes in the floor and didnt seem wheelchair accessible. Biggest disappointment was that the server was not wearing a mask.

I was come from Thailand. I came to study here. So i saw this thai restaurant in downtown. I was try it and it was so delicious!. Example like spring rolls are so tasty, they have a dip too. And the fried rice with chicken mixed with tomato and pineapple. Pineapple is sweet. They have hot sauce too. The ingredents that they use, Mostly come from thailand. Very tasty, awesome curry dishes, pad Thai and fish - excellent service, food arrived quick and hot!

Amarin Thai is a hidden gem. The food and service is outstanding. The restaurant is intimate and tucked away off the main drag. It has a definite family vibe to it which is welcoming and memorable. I love the tofu. I suggest the red curry and drunken noodles. Great value for The Okanagan. I find their food to be a nice balance of sweet, spicy and flavourful.

The chicken skewers were really thin. Flavors werent great for the curry too much coconut milk, peanut sauce needed more hoisin.

Very homey atmosphere, and all the staff are very friendly. As with all restaurants the number 1 thing is the food, and Amarin is no exception. The seafood and green curry are phenomenal (try t2 in the seafood portion of the menu)

I agree with Michael Macdonald who posted ~1 year ago reviews led me here and my husband and I were very disappointed. We both had curries. The sauce had a gelatinous texture , it had too much fish sauce and the vegetables were mostly onions ,carrots and cabbage.

I always get amazing food and service every time I come here, would recommend any day of the week!

Pad Thai tastes more like tomato sauce then anything. Our beef and noodle dish was bland and the broth tasted confused. Not very authentic tasting if you d ask me. Disappointed after reviews lead me there
