Our favourite restaurant for Vietnamese food and although we dont live close by, make it a regular destination when we can. Weve never had a bad meal here and have been coming for many years now. Our favourite has become the pho soup and Nr 46 and 47 vermicelli bowls. Very good value for the portion sizes and always fresh and tasty. Service is usually very friendly and efficient, despite many staffing changes over the years. The grilled meats and prawns in the vermicelli dishes is what really makes this place a cut above the others weve tried, including in Calgary. Really is worth the effort to drive there and enjoy a great meal. Clean and accommodating and also good for takeout service.

LOVE the beef stew

Tonight my sister & I went as we regularly do to Lemongrass for dinner. We each ordered a glass of red wine which was undrinkable as it had clearly gone bad, as wine may do if left & not used up quickly. As we were leaving, the young gal asked why we didn t finish our wine, so we told her it had gone bad, & had expired.This is the second time in 3 months this has happened, I suggested that they might check their bottle to ensure fresh wine for others. While paying for our meals, the expired wine & a take out meal for another family member, the manager or owner began screeching & screaming at the young waitress in front of all the guests & other staff like a madman. Utterly abusive. Demanding the wine was fine & berating her over this. The food is good here but I am appalled at the verbal assault that this man felt fully comfortable with using against his young staffer. I will never again eat here just out of principle. I am not supporting domestic violence, verbal or otherwise. Farewell Fresh Lemongrass it was good until this

Weve only ever had take out from Lemongrass, but their pad thai is by far the best in Vernon and no one can beat their price.

I have the flu so I phoned in my order at 2:30 April 4th. The young lady who took my order was very kind. I ordered soup and spring rolls. My husband picked up my order and the server was again kind to him and told him to tell me to feel better soon. Thank you for caring and going above and beyond to be kind. This is a popular spot for a reason. The food is excellent - fresh and tasty - while the service is prompt and professional. Do not be deterred by the strip mall location, once inside it is fine.

High quality, family run, authentic Vietnamese food. The pho is phonomenal ;P and the pad Thai or vermicelli bowls are to die for. I highly recommend fresh lemongrass anytime you feel like authentic Vietnamese food done family style.

Busy place. Pho was good. Although we didnt get the sprouts we asked for and the basil was turning brown. Curry and the other noodle dish not great. Big portions. Service was bare minimum. Took our order, brought our food. Never came back to our table.

Authentic pho with many choices of side dishes.

Very underwhelming, especially considering some of the other reviews, I will not be going back. I am being generous on this one to give 3 stars. Calamari was like chewing rubber bands, barely edible. Pho was ok, but Ive had much better at the other places in Vernon, and for a better price. Server forgot our pho condiments along with the drink I ordered and we couldnt get anyones attention so had to stand in the line at the till in order to get them. At no point did anyone check on us at our table.

Sooooo good, had the curry chicken. I was worried it was going to be too spicy but they told me I was able to pick from 1 to 10 on the spice scale. It was so good I will never drive through Vernon without stopping for a bite there. They were very busy but even so the service was great and we had a friendly young waitress that seemed to love her job!! Highly recommend

Prior the pandemic, we came to Fresh Lemongrass regularly. We used to like the food very much. My sister and I went tonight. I ordered the Pho special as usual and my sister ordered lemongrass chicken on rice (not sure the actual name, but for sure it has lemongrass as it is what my sisters want). The restaurant wasnt too busy, only about 2/3 full. We waited more than 25 minutes after we ordered and the food hadnt come. We asked the waitress when the food would come, the waitress replied that it usually takes 30 minutes from the time ordered. We waited and waited. The waitress didnt even come back to our table. Finally, it took 50 minutes to receive our food! When the food arrived, no bean sprouts nor mint leaves came with my Pho. The lemongrass chicken on rice doesnt look what we expected at all! My sister said that she doesnt taste lemongrass in her dish at all. The worst is that the waitress told us that the store would be closed in 30 minutes! It is ridiculous that we waited 50 minutes for our food and they told us that we only allowed to have 30 minutes to eat! We will NEVER go back again!

Food is inexpensive, plentiful and tasty .

Wait was long but thats expected with everywhere being short staffed, and the place was packed with lots of take out orders going out. The service was really good and the food was delicious and had MASSIVE portions, incredible value. We came from out of town and if we ever passed through Vernon again we would gladly stop by again.

I love the food at Lemongrass. They are very busy and the service and the atmosphere reflects that. If you are looking for good nutritional food in a casual environment this is the place.

Ordered seafood fried rice...rice was not fried just straight out of the cooker all sticky and clumped together. Item was not as advertised.

The food here is always delicious, and large portions! The pad Thai is not the best, I usually avoid ordering that and go for a vermicelli bowl instead. The spring rolls are also amazing! It was my first time dining in here in several years. It is busy as always! I came in here after reading about the server being assaulted the day prior, and wanted to support a local restaurant. As a vegetarian, there is only one vegetarian meal on the menu which makes my choice made by default. Please add more meal options for vegetarians. With that aside, Fresh Lemongrass is the cheapest restaurant with table service in all of Vernon. 13 dollars for a MASSIVE meal. Good luck finding that elsewhere in Vernon with servers. The meal is healthy, extremely filling, so many sauces to use at your disposal, and staff keeps very busy. They are hiring. When I showed up I waited 15 minutes for a table. This was at 6pm on a Friday. Between the people eating, ordering, and a neverending stream of takeout orders, I was surprised to be seated as quickly as I was. They forgot to charge me for my root beer so I tipped extra. The limited staff certainly deserve it. Vegetarian options: 3 vegetarian appetizers and 1 vegetarian meal.

I had the best pad Thai here a few years ago, I went in recently when I was in town and I was so disappointed. It tasted like bland tomato sauce. If you see this, please go back to your old recipe, maybe it was a one off flop but there is no way it would go from the best to the worst pad Thai I ve ever had. The vermicelli bowel was also alright, the meat was so heavily smoked that s all the flavour you could taste. The food has definitely been on a decline since a few years ago.

Food was great. Most of the staff were nice. Came in today and there was a girl wearing blue leggings who walked to the back just to complain and swear about a customer. Incredibly unprofessional and she should be keeping work issues to herself if shes upset. I was just waiting for the restroom and I just heard swearing and her complaining. She should learn better than to swear and complain in front of/about customers. Even saw her swearing earlier and have a fit when she didnt catch someones attention. Odd and rude behaviour.

Authentic and flavourful dishes in big portions.

Where in this town can you get amazing vegetarian pho (#13) for $11 (large size) - right here! full of fresh assorted veggies / boc choy, broccoli, cauliflower (large chunks) of veg! fresh sliced carrots, bean sprouts, with fresh optional herbs I also recommend #52 to share - make your own rice wraps with assorted protein & veg! Very cosy - beautiful lighting and ambience - service average but they are busy!!! (For a good reason). Their fried rice looked good and I recommend their beef stew. Healthiest dining in town and incredible low cost when you consider the value. Very clean! Recommend 11:30 am lunch as it gets busy FYI / our appetizers (fried spring rolls (delicious) came in 15 min our main meal came 10 min after that : this is not a fast food MacDonalds - it takes a little time as any good restaurant to prepare Vegetarian options: Fresh not over cooked veggies / big assortment of veg and bean sprouts - my fav eating establishment for low cost but healthy dining Dietary restrictions: Gluten free Options - veg only options Parking: It s a mini strip - restaurant located at end east access - park right in front - parking lot provided

I am writing this comment to express my extreme disappointment in this restaurant since I found a skewer stick inside my salad roll (no.1 item on the menu). Please see the pictures I attached with this comment. If you are planning to visit this restaurant, please be extra careful. From the outside of the salad roll, you could not see this stick. I found this stick before eating as I tried to share this roll by cutting this in half. As a customer, I expect the food served to be safe and hygienic, and this sharp object showing in my food is alarming, unacceptable and unhygienic. Specifically, what if someone has used this stick before, and the cooks put it there by accident; what if any child or adult is choked by this stick? This stick could have caused severe harm to me or anyone who might have ingested it accidentally. Finding this stick makes me question the quality control and the overall hygienic standard of the kitchen. It is unacceptable for such a mistake to happen, and I am left wondering what other lapses and issues might have occurred that I am unaware of. I came to this restaurant because of the good ratings and reviews on Google Maps, and I hope people will check their food when they visit here if they still want to go to this restaurant. When I was telling the manager about this incident, my experience was further compounded by the negative attitude of the manager. As I attempted to inform the manager about this situation, I was met with a dismissive and condescending tone that was both unprofessional and unwarranted. I felt belittled and ignored, adding to my frustration and disappointment. Particularly, the manager came up from the kitchen, asking, Who, who complained? I explained the situation to him, and he described the skewer stick in the food like nothing abnormal happened. He finally said sorry but with an angry and hostile tone as if it was my fault instead. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially when I brought this food issue to the manager. It was unfortunate and unacceptable, exacerbating an already unpleasant situation. Summary: I will not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant. If you do, please check the food quality and hygienic control and you may expect to be treated poorly by the manager for any complaints.

my wife and i went here on a Wednesday evening they were quite busy but I think the biggest problem was where the staff had no idea what was going on. We sat and we sat and we sat and saw others who came in behind us, get menus and served, but we sat there like idiots. After 15 minutes of this we walked out. I saw at least nine other customers leave, because they were never acknowledged at the door as the girls were too busy, both wiping the table at the same time lol. Maybe pay a better wage. And then you don t have to have just 15-year-olds working there just a thought how much money are you losing in lost customers compared to what you would pay it in wages I bet it s a lot more in customers.

A wonderful spot for dinner. They offer an extensive menu, with vegetarian options. When the restaurant is full it can be pretty noisy but nothing to worry about. The food is excellent, with lots of fresh vegetables, and with large portions. Prices are very reasonable, too. Excellent flavors, friendly service, we felt welcome. Vegetarian options: Nicely grilled tofu is offered as the non-meat protein

Another fantastic experience at Fresh Lemongrass Vernon. Today we had the spring rolls, salad rolls and the number 49 -chicken bowl with vermicelli noodles. So much yummy food and we had lots of leftovers for later. Great food, value and atmosphere!!! Nathan was our server today and he was awesome! He knew the menu and was very friendly and responsive even though he was incredibly busy.

Visitor to Vernon and had to try out at least one Vietnamese restaurant, since it s my favourite food, so I picked this restaurant due to its reviews. I ordered the rice with pork chop, shredded pork, and fried egg. Why only 3 s? - 1 for HUGE portion you are getting the bang for your $$. - 1 for presentation - 1 for nice atmosphere & service In my opinion the pork chop had great flavours but too heavy on the salt; egg was over-cooked; and the portions of the sweet, vinegar, and fish sauce of the nuoc mam is off balance. If you like salty flavourful meat, not picky about how your eggs are fried and don t really know what authentic great nuoc mam tastes like then you will like this particular dish I had.

Very pleased with my bowl of pho. Had the rare steak with vegetables. Only thing I wish they had is chilli oil. I need that in my soup. They did have some chilli peppers and a spicy sauce they gave me to get my heat level up.

There is no point in ordering here. I have heard their food is good, however I have tried multiple times over the years to call and place orders. They never answer their phone. Or never change their voicemail after holiday closure hours have changed. You can leave a message and they never call back. Do not waste any time. PHO fusion is near by and has excellent food. You can actually place an order.

Very rude waitress when I found a long strand of hair in my soup ... her comments is it happens and walked away . No apologies or let me get you a new soup .... never return to this restaurant. Ive never experienced such as today at this restaurant in my whole life.

I said hi to one of the asian man,looks like an owner or a manager. He gave me an attitude, then sat down, asked me what do you want? Excuse me? Wheres the menu? My husband, 3 year old daughter and I were visiting Vernon from the Lower Mainland and were craving some Vietnamese food. The menu looked extensive and the reviews good so we were hopeful for a tasty dinner. Unfortunately, we did not have a positive experience. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night with both dine in and takeout orders but there was only 1 server and another in training. Service was slow and barely there. A sign on the door indicated they were desperate for help. We could have been forgiving if the food was good but even that fell short. My husband had #66 sate beef on rice. The portion was decent but it lacked flavour. My daughter had basic beef ball noodle soup. The soup tasted off and even my little noodle lover refused to eat it. I ordered #19 seafood sate noodle soup. It had the most flavour out of all the dishes but again was mediocre. Perhaps we are spoiled by the Vietnamese food available from where we are from but this food was disappointing. Despite the $40 spent on dinner we had to eat something else back at the hotel. We are still wondering how this restaurant received such high reviews. I would not recommend. 2 stars because the gal in training was pleasant and refilled our waters multiple times.

The food is delicious! I appreciate the gluten free menu, and Ive never had a reaction to the food here. :) Flavourful pho broth in large portions at a respectable price, and the house spring rolls are wonderful. Weve had a few issues with missing or unexpectedly different items with pickup orders before, but they offered us a coupon for next time to replace the missing item and its only ever happened when theyre really really busy. Dietary restrictions: Separate gluten free menu with most soups, a selection of noodle and rice bowls, and a selection of the appetizers. Very accessible, though a couple dollars more expensive.

This place is pretty decent for Vietnamese food although I wouldnt say its exactly as authentic as the Vietnamese restaurants in the main city. It was really busy during the dinner rush so I recommend calling ahead and placing an order if you are doing take out. We had to wait an hour for our food. Interior was clean and well air conditioned. Staff were nice and friendly. I ordered the pork patty salad roll and was impressed with how large it was. It could use a bit more meat but I enjoyed it regardless, and the dipping sauce was good. I would rate this item 8/10. My boyfriend had the grilled porkchop on rice with a fried egg. The porkchop was a bit dry and we were not a fan of the marinade that they used. It would have been better if it was more lemongrass in flavor. The rice used was also not authentic broken rice. I would rate this item 6/10. The Iced Vietnamese coffee was decent and hit the spot. You cant go wrong with coffee! We give this 9/10.

Vegetarian options: We were heading to Banff and stopped at Vernon. We always have Pho noodle on any of our trips .This is the worse one we have ever had. The sprouts and Basil and tiny tiny lemon are not fresh at all. We asked whether they are leftover! They said just in the water too long.we order #17seafood pork soup . the all the noodle are less the 5cm .and it is not fresh neither. They shouldnt have Freshin their name..wast our time and $.

Very busy at lunch time. Food came out quickly after an acceptable wait for the server. Ph was amazing!! Ill definitely be back as its a short walk from the truck stop Im parked at. Another jem I found on the road.

Lemon grass has great food. Our family loves eating there. Being from vancouver it is pretty close to the pho places there. They do need to organize their take out orders better, and priotize those orders. I ordered and pre paid for my food. It was not brought to my attention prior that the vegetarian spring rolls were no longer available. After I paid and tipped they did try to mend the situation, with offering a replacement item. I had no energy to argue and just accepted the offer. They do need to communicate better on the limitations of menu items available. Also they did have my number and I was not contacted at all.

Been there atleast 100 times and never had a bad meal, 49 with beef or the pho soup are both excellent choices. Its healthy, delicious and isnt full of salt. Im 68 350lbs and can barely finish, prices are very reasonable cant fill up on fast food junk for that price and there is a huge menu.

I am not sure if they are racist. It looks like they treat us extremely bad compared with other customers. Very very very bad service. Not even a single smile to us. I said thank you but no response!? Looks like they hate us very much. Ignore us. Took our order wrong. Not recommended. Won t come again.

No menus on their website really guess we wont be going.Have to just go to pho sate downtown it good
