Sushi Field (Admirals) in Victoria

The sushi is always delicious but avoid the Japanese curry (yuck!). It looked and tasted like something that came in a premade frozen dinner. Fed a bit of the rubbery chicken that it came with to my cats and threw the rest out.

Must have caught them on a bad day? Cold food that should have been hot, despite waiting for the pick up. Food

We ordered through Skip. Chicken Katsu was good. Bipimbap was really not good. Overcooked egg, bitter limp flavorless steamed spinach, a dollop of sushi fake crab, mixed greens(?) and a whisp of carrot. The only flavor was sesame oil. Very very disappointing.

The staff at this restaurant are welcoming and attentive, and the food is outstanding. Despite its modest size, the ambiance is delightful. I particularly enjoyed the Japanese curry paired with katsumi pork, which was delicious!

A nice quiet place to snack on some delicious sushi. The food is excellent, but what I find to be truly exceptional is the service! Absolutely top rated, thank you very much!

This was my first time going and boy oh boy they did not disappoint! The dynamite roll, spring garden roll and wonton soup were delicious.

The sushi rolls are great, everything else not so much.

The rolls and sushi and sashimi were good. Everything was great overall. Monkeybrains (avocado) although horribly named are quite delicious. My concern is the pricing. We ordered online using their website, placed the order over the phone and picked it up. The bill was higher than expected. Much higher. Their take out order is considerably much more than the eat-in menu I guess? This is a deal breaker for me. We ordered the Sushi Field Special Platter which advertises 73.90 on one menu, but on the order online menu, the same platter is 88.90! I get you have servers that make tips, but a $15 service charge for take out is ridiculous!

The food is always delicious and fresh we go there for both lunch and dinner

I love sushi field. They have a vast menu with many options and the staff are always so lovely. Whether it s take out or eat in I ve never had a bad experience.

Good eats, probably carried by the west coast capability of fresh fish but its good quality and at a reasonable price. That said, if youre a sushi fanatic you might notice that ordering maguro you get a fattier tuna than expected. Not necessarily a bad thing as the fatty tuna is typically more expensive but you wont get the red meaty tuna that you thought.

Amazing restaurant, always has good food and good service!

I ve been to this restaurant quite a few times, I never seem to be disappointed. :) Today I tried the Teriyaki Beef lunch special wow! What a pleasant surprise! Big portions! Nice variety of items to try, affordable price! The lunch special exceeded my expectations! The server was also very pleasant and had great customer service skills.

Good quick food. Price and portions were on par for quality and other restaurants in the area. Would eat here again.

Absolutely thrilled with the crispy prawn tempura at this Japanese sushi restaurant! The texture was perfect, and the flavors were outstanding. The sushi lunch combo was a delightful experience easily the best sushi Ive ever had. Highly recommend trying these dishes!

Best service ever. Uber eats totally messed up and never delivered my order, so I called the restaurant and they remade my order right away and hand delivered it way faster than Uber eats ever could- and they did this all after hours! I m so grateful, they totally saved the day! Thanks so much sushi field, you re the best. Also, they have the best sushi in town :)

False advertising on their uber eats page. It says their roll combo has four rolls california roll but upon ordering it clearly only contains one. The food was fine, but I wouldnt have ordered the combo if I had known. Frustrating to be mislead like that even if its minor.

Ordered wonton soup. They didn t use wontons. Taste was blah. Also had vegetables tempura. Very greasy and the sauce was tasteless

They make great sushi but I ordered their wonton soup and received some sort of gyoza soup that was clearly an attempt at wonton soup done quite poorly, the gyoza was falling apart and overall it definitely wasnt wonton soup. Theyre great japanese food but I suggest you stay away from the Chinese options.

Fantastic food and service. Restaurant was fairly small, not too much seating, we were lucky to get a table. Well worth it either way though, great staff and food - will check it out for take out in the future.

My wife and I enjoy sharing a dinner, it s big enough for two and we love the way it s served, course after course making it a wonderful dinner experience. Because of this, every course is fresh and hot and the quality of the food is excellent. I highly recommend it!

So yummy! Went for the lunch special combo and you get so much for a great price. The quality and service was great. This is going to be my new go to sushi spot!

I had a truly terrible experience at this place that I would strongly advise against. I decided to order takeout from them, and while waiting for my food to be prepared, my young child became thirsty. In a reasonable request, I asked the lady working there if I could have a cup of water for my kid. To my utter shock, she flatly refused, stating that since we werent dining in, we couldnt have water. It was a baffling response that left us speechless. A few seconds later, our food was finally ready. I must admit that the taste of the sushi itself was good, but the overall customer service was absolutely abysmal. Every time we pass by that place, my child points and reminds me not to get sushi from them ever again. I cannot stress enough how strongly I discourage anyone from visiting this establishment. The lack of basic hospitality and empathy shown to a thirsty child speaks volumes about their disregard for customers. Save yourself the frustration and find a different sushi restaurant that actually values their patrons.

I messed up my order and forgot to put my allergy. The staff were willing to remake my order for me. The best customer service. The food is incredible and You will not be disappointed !!

Sushi was decent not amazing. Gomae was really disappointing.

Beef teriyaki dinner and chicken karaga were some of my favorites here but everything else was also amazing.

Friendly and delicious

I dont suggest bringing friends here as we would be penalized to pay 18% tips. I love this restaurant, I have been there more than 15 times this year, But once I brought my friends to this restaurant. We have 2 families, 8 people in total. I was forced to tip 18% without advance notice. I didnt feel any special service. Dine-in already supports waiters to get more tips. The tip amount should be my decision.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this sushi restaurant! The ambiance was charming, the service was impeccable, and the sushi was simply divine. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the presentation was truly artful. The variety of options on the menu was impressive, catering to both traditional and creative tastes. Not great, salad and sushi was mushy deep fried pork tasted like oil was old chicken karage was dry beef teriyaki was tough. Not the first time we eat there, gave many chances. Not going back

Great place! Really reasonable prices and large portions! The salmon teriyaki was astonishing. We ve also got sweet sushi as a compliment, sooo nice!!

Excellent spot for all Japanese kitchen lovers, wonton soup, sushi and salmon teriyaki was incredible delicious and we really enjoyed service as well. Highly recommend.

Great sushi place ran by a couple of very polite and pleasant young men. Place is clean and order always fresh and on time.

I went to this place on a whim one day when I needed to eat a late lunch I had a calamari roll and a salmon avocado roll and it was delicious I have been back 4 times. The Bento boxes at lunch are absolutely amazing comparative to everywhere else that we have been. The sushi rolls are just as good the only thing I havent tried yet is the nigiri I guess that will have to be time number 6

Great sushi at a fair price

I ordered for pick up and I am pretty disappointed. My first item was a miso soup which was barely lukewarm and very salty. Second item was an agadashi tofu which was ok, it tastes like its been sitting for a while. Next I had the yam caterpillar roll, easily the best thing Ive ordered. Not amazing but definitely not bad. And finally the Bibimpop, which is why I am writing this review. On the website it says in the ingredients served with chojang(Korean spicy sauce) and instead they put what looks to be crab meat or imitation crab. So I dont know which one it is...I do however know you MUST put on that information on the menu, some people are allergic to shellfish or have religious dietary restrictions. Very irresponsible for a restaurant to make this mistake.

We came here on the recommendation of some others in our community and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the service was great too. We will be back.

I love getting take out here. Its always yummy. I am a vegetarian, so cant comment on any meat dishes, but the avocado maki & yam rolls are my favorite.

Decent food. They were very accommodating when I advised there was a time restraint. Gave me a cup of lovely green teas while I waited.

Ordered sushi for takeout and was very disappointed. The rice was stale, the real crab California roll must have been canned crab, it was dry and frankly did not taste good. The black Dragon roll was the only good roll. It is overpriced, the level of quality does not justify the price tag.

I ve eaten here & gotten take out. It s always amazing. Looks beautiful, even on take out or skip. Love their mango tango roll! Spicy salmon is just melt in your mouth. Quickly has become my families favourite sushi in Victoria.

First time visit in second location in Admirals. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staffs. I had to visit this place since other location in Fairfield only offer take outs. Food did not disappoint! I love the fact that I could enjoy fresh food right out of kitchen! Fairly priced for what you get. If you want to experience dine-in at Sushi Field, definitely come check out this place!

I ve gotten delivery twice from this place now and the sushi is incredible!!! So glad to have found this gem it blows all the other places out of the water

High quality sushi, excellent service. Card malfunctioned and the guy at the front was really patient and helpful. Super solid sushi, wild BC salmon. Put up a photo of the meal in the photos section. Only thing: I love a less salty more soy sauce, would love a variety. Everything else was great.

Field of...? Maybe its because I came here for lunch and got a bento, but I found it uninspired. Lets start with the good I appreciate the salad and the tempera batter was decent. As for the two key elements: rice and fish. The rice was fine. It could have more seasoning but augmenting it with soya sauce does add some complexity. Although, one should have to. The salmon sashimi grade seemed low. It was falling apart when picked up. The tuna was fine but could have had more flavour notes. Noticing other reviews there does seem to be roles of interest. Maybe I was there with a different chef or maybe they dont specialize in bento. But this was not a memorable moment for my pallet.

Average sushi, high prices.

Food was all pretty good for a strip mall operation. They were one of few places open on BC day so the orders were really backed up. They worked hard to get everyones food out and quality didnt seem to suffer

Great food and friendly service, we dine in often. The server remembers our favorites and always greets us with a smile, great service. We tend to like the classics: California and BC rolls, salmon, tuna and unagi nigiri are always excellent. We picked up our order today and it was just right at exactly the time promised.

Tried their seafood salad today and it was excellent. The fish was very fresh, and it was beautifully presented, with a delicious dressing. This place looks like it will be a great addition to the neighborhood. It has an extensive menu, and the service at lunch was fast.

I ate a sushi set, two types of rolls, udon, and tempura ^_^ Everything was high quality and delicious even from a Japanese perspective! I will visit again~

Finally a great sushi restaurant in our Admirals area. We have been a few times and it is excellent......I dont understand how someone could give them a 1 star review. Best of luck to your new location.
