Wholesome, made to order Breakfast and lunch
I have been really disapointed by that place. Pancakes were tasteless and dry. Probably an industrial ready pancake mix with some water. I dont eat outside to be served shit like that. Pancakes I do at home are 10 times better. I do not recommended that place.
We were here for the breakfast. We ordered sunshine panini crepe and omelette. Pretty good food and variety selections. Good place for breakfast and lunch!
We came here for breakfast in August because it was near our hotel and we noticed it looked popular. We had never heard of Cora’s before. Now we are massive fans. I had the best waffle of my life here. Finally the North American touristic experience breakfast I’d been seeking: giant waffle? Tick! Huge amounts of calories? Tick! Fruit piled high? Tick? Unnecessary amounts of confectioners custard thrown in? Tick! Cream? More sugar? Extra fruit? Tick tick tick! Basically this was my idea of heaven. Please open some branches in the UK.
The food is excellent and comes with a great presentation! The menu has so many unique options, it’s hard to make up your mind! The restaurant was crowded and the staff was a little slow because of it, but the food is well worth the wait.
We came for breakfast every single morning we stayed in Victoria as our hotel was round the corner and simply loved the amazing food: - lots of choices although I asked for the Gargantuan option as they allow you to mix certain bits you do not like with other things and since I am not a big eater, this managed to set me for a long time while travelling everywhere on the island. My other half changed his breakfast every single day, having his beloved Eggs Benedict - great friendly staff and I have to thank once again the lovely Indian manageress (and her 'sister' as I called them as they look so alike): great, amazing people and an asset to this place - large location with several seating types Every single day was on the quiet side with the exception of the last day when we were forced to hear the lamentations of a construction guy speaking louder than his half dozen mates about his escapades with women while ordering very little food - that was utterly stupid and had to put up with this, as well as the family with children located near the front window. Shame on these low IQ people for subjecting everybody else to such bad manners.
I wanted to like this place; it had all the right indicators that it would be a nice little breakfast dinner with good food and prices. But something about the combination of the bright yellow walls with posters, the loud rock and roll music too early in the morning, and the mediocre service that soured my fruit. The menu is sizable; it covers a large variety of foods and breakfast types, almost too much to get your head around or do well. The fruit was also hit or miss, with some needing to be more ripe. Overall, the food was average dinner food. In the end, at least three tables were nearby, looking at each other and waiting for checks from different servers. The staff was friendly but either overloaded or inconsistent. My best comparison is to a Denny's, but I'd rather have the Dennys. I won't be back.
We had our breakfast here everyday in our 3 day stay in Victoria. One reason is its the most proximity from our hotel/inn. Both the serving and menu were surprising good. A big portion for the price. I would say it is a breakfast feast to eat here.
Cora Breakfast and Lunch offers an exceptional breakfast experience. The menu is extensive, providing a wide array of tantalizing options. Despite its popularity, finding a comfortable seat was easy as it wasn't overly crowded. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. The diverse menu caters to various dietary preferences, offering both classic favorites and innovative dishes. The service was prompt and accommodating, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend Cora for anyone seeking a delicious breakfast in a relaxed, inviting setting.
Paid $5 for a cappuccino, opened the lid, and it was half empty. It s hard to believe a place with such poor attention to value and quality is still in business. Disappointing, to say the least! Food doesn t have any taste.
Good unique breakfast place.
Coras one of our favourites wherever we go, but this branch is a NO to us. Me and my wife politely ask for a refill of coffee, we asked three different servers, they replied ok, we waited minutes and minutes for NOTHING !! .
Is this your breakfast???!!!
Service is absolutely amazing and breakfast.Food is very fresh and good
A casual restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch created by Cora Tsouflidou in 1987 . When you travel to , you will always see this restaurant somewhere. Great and varied menu.,fruit, pancake, omelettes, crepes, etc. The menu features a menu that you will never get bored of.
Have been to Cora s all over Canada. Every time I go to the Victoria Cora s it is chaos at the door. Waiting several minutes to even be greeted, with a half-full restaurant and more than 10 staff on deck. Today was particularly bad- waited more than 10 minutes at the front without so much as a hello. A supervisor looking short stocky man with glasses walking around telling off staff. We decided to just leave. For the owners, you should question how the mid-management is impacting profits. For customers, I advise you to look elsewhere. It s a shame because we love Cora s breakfast. This place is giving it a very bad reputation in town, and this has happened to us SEVERAL time. Don t think we ll go back.
Place was barely half full. Waited 20 minutes and never got seated. So we left.
Don t ever go there! We were eating with my family yesterday and the manager started screaming a family just for using the washroom. The manager is rude and was not professional.
We got there at 230pm and they didnt accept us. They said they close at 220pm when theyre posted hours say 3pm.
Service sucks at Coras now, not sure if its under new ownership or what. Last 2 visits service was sooooo slow and unfriendly. Waited 15 min to even see a server and waited 30 min for food that NVR even came. Server NVR put my order in. I got up and walked out with not even an Im sorry from staff. Coras isnt what it used to be at all, wont be going back.
Yikes, how is this place still in business. The place was empty, sad atmosphere, the food was just sloppy and expensive. The two pieces of bacon were so small and translucent. The new ownership has gutted this place, one server and one cook in the entire place. It used to be bustling with workers and people. Now its about as welcoming as a dark alley.
WORST LOCATION EVER!! Never experienced worst service and food from any location before, they are actually putting a damage to this brand we have liked so much in metro Vancouver. Their food was burnt, service was the slowest, Manager was least courteous and was making faces when extra butter was requested. Really really disappointed for spending my Hard earned bucks on this location. Brown bread not available no apology given. The worst part, while asking about the wait time to the Guy in the front (since I was told 15 minutes and it took them 30 mins already) , the kitchen guy stepped forward and said I can give you right now but it will be raw unbelievably Worst service standards ever! Every single person in this location has no idea on basic training on service! The owner should really visit the store and see what s going on here.
Hi, I am a 61 year old professional male. Due to a change in medication I had a desperate need to use a washroom facility. I entered Coras with extreme urgency. I was told that the facilities were for customers only and to go elsewhere. Even after pleading I was sent away. I Ran across the street to the Straith where the front desk person saw my extreme distress and allowed me to use their washroom. Kudos to the Straith. Based on their lack of common decency I will NOT recommend or dine at Coras. I have many contacts in the hospitality business and will let all my clients and contacts know how I was treated at this embarrassing time. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I was ignored by waitress multiple times when trying to order.
Best place in Victoria for breakfast Lots of fruit on your plate and awesome variety of eggs Bennys Parking: Right around the corner street paid parking or parking garage... no sweat!
Fastfoot, but ok. Typically Canadian.
Delicious breakfast - everything is quite cramped, although there is a lot of space in the shop - that could also be more relaxed - one star deducted for that
I used to go to Cora, Victoria, 2-3 times/week. Then the restaurant changed hands and the lack of service and friendliness made it less appealing. Now, the food is with lower quality ingredients, staff dont speak to customers, servers barely do, when they made an error with the order they argued with the customer that he should have been clearer! Its not worth my visits anymore. None of my friends wish to return. Ive been to many Cora locations across Canada, this location is a very poor representation of the brand. Quality and service trainers should see to teach them before they loose us all.
Not so cheep. The food absolutely 1 star same as the service. Definitely not recommended
Darn, read the reviews and figured we would give it a try. Food was meh but huge menu selection and something for everyone, service was certainly lacking bordering on rude, we felt like an inconvenience from the moment we walked in the door. Atmosphere was nice and has the potential to be a good place, unfortunately service and food quality results in an our negative review.
wouldnt allow us (a group of 5) to sit because 1 of us have a guide dog. there were 4 tables taken and the rest were empty, yet they refused to move 2 tables together or allow us to sit at one of the many 4 seat tables with an extra chair. if you have a disability do NOT come here. -response to coras reply. that is an absolute lie. we were told about 25 minutes to wait for 1 specific table when most of the restaurant was empty. and after saying that its not fair that you have 1 table designed for dogs which just happened to be occupied, you completely ignored us and only replied with sure. Wheelchair accessibility: stairs out front, no ramp. denies guide dogs and service dogs.
Barely any meat on my Benny. Nice presentation but that s about it. Service was good. Coffee was nasty
I went to this restaurant today with my 4 other family members one of which has a guide dog. they told us they could not accommodate us with a guide dog.. somebody needs to set these people straight. It s against the law to deny patrons with disabilities and service or guide dogs.
Rude
It was my husbands first time ever! The service was great! And his meal was better than mine lol! Next time Im getting the exact burger he got!!! It was sooooo freaking good!!! Definitely going for that burger!!!
I have been going to this restaurant for years. The service is always friendly and personable. I always feel welcome. The food is always consistently delicious with great portions. I would definitely recommend Coras for your breakfast or brunch cravings.
Like the previous viewer, I really wanted to love this place. But a breakfast spot lives and dies on the quality of its eggs. The scrambled eggs were paltry and overcooked. The pancakes tasted like they were out of a box. The fruit was hard. Left feeling hungry and disappointed. Sorry not to be able to give a better relief.
Karuna the Manager she was fantastic. She made our choice very easy with her always smiling face and her service makes her the deserving manager. Our best wishes for you.
The panini is good, but the frappuccino is very sour. The service is good they replaced it with another cup with more syrup, although it didnt help and made it taste even worse.
First time in a Cora restaurant. Very extensive menu.Breakfast was soooooo good that we returned the next morning to try something, once again, we were very pleased!
I ordered the burrito crepe by pointing to it on the menu and saying the burrito please. The waitress ordered the wrong item and then tried to tell me I didnt know what I ordered. The burrito crepe once it arrived and the fried potatoes were delicious. My partners fruit was sour and not ripe, although it appeared to be.
Staff there have no training or idea of what customer service is. The worst I have encountered in a long time.
The food used to have large proportions. Farm eggs with orange yolks, and I would leave feeling full.
Great food and service! Karuna was exceptional.
Outstanding food!! Wait was a little long for your food but thats because theyre back there cooking everything to perfection! And the place is packed, so theres that. Probably packed because its so good
All the workers are very kind and always friendly
Rich choice of delicious dishes. Nice staff. Fair prices. I always enjoy coming to Cora for breakfast with my family
Breakfast was okay, not great but good. Quantities were bigger than expected with lot of fresh fruits.
Huge awesome menu with something for everyone!
The Steak Eggs Benedict was amazing! Truly an order again!
Try the Dans or the Jessica. Has everything youd want for a full, delicious breakfast. The wait staff are fast and friendly too. Fav spot.
Atmosphere was nice. But food was very good. Service was good too.
exceptional service due to busy hour. The young server truly went above in beyond BUT the circumstances where hard. they are clearly understaffed. Food overpriced for the mid quality they serve. Management doesnt seem to care.
I have been dining at Coras for years and have never been disappointed with the food, service, or atmosphere. Breakfast, brunch, or lunch was always A++++. Cheers.
My toddler and I go to Cora s often for breakfast on the weekends. The food is always delicious and the staff is very friendly. We love Cora s!
Walked in with my family, requested a booth, was told I could not because the tables had to be equally distributed by servers. So I asked for the family behind us to be seated ahead of us and I would wait for the booth. Was refused. Inept customer service at its best. I asked to speak to Manager and she was the Manager. Told me I was rude when all I did was ask for the option to watt for the table I preferred. If I could give 0 stars I would.
The food was good and what our family expected of Cora s Breakfast as we all have been an enjoyed it in numerous locations. However the service was less than stellar. I understand how busy it gets on weekends but the fact that the server did not want to add the loyalty points at the time of payment due to how busy it was and informed us she would keep the bill and add them later, we knew it sounded to good to be true. Over a week later, and we were forgotten. It took us getting up and walking to the counter to get our bill for us to be able to pay, we should have known better. Terrible service for a restaurant chain known for its welcoming and friendly service
The food was great but the SERVICE!!!!! Sophie is truly THAT girl! Usually we like to check out local spots but because of her, we will be coming back to Coras! Food : 5/5
I ve always enjoyed dining at this restaurant, but my recent visit to this location was quite disappointing. Despite many empty tables, we were made to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated. The service was slow, and we didn t receive basic condiments like ketchup and syrup. The food and drinks looked noticeably different from what was advertised on the menu, and to top it off, we found a hair in my friend s dish. This experience has made me reconsider returning to this location. I hope management can address these issues to improve the overall experience for future customers.
We only a block away from this place ..so we walked down..there was a bit of a wait but we got in maybe 10 minutes later..the service was great and so was the breakfast...so much so we went back the next day...
This was fairly basic. If you seek excellence in breakfast I would consider Jams cafe or Floyds.
Was there in Victoria for a weekend get away. Decided to have breakfast at Cora because always had a wonderful experience at Cora s in Coquitlam But very disappointed with service here. The waitress named Sophie was just horrible .when we came in she just ignored us. Unfortunately she was our waitress when seated. She dropped off water at our table and left. No hello No would you like coffee or something to drink? Not friendly at all. Came back later and took our order. But never once came back to check on us. No coffee refills I had to ask another waiter for a refill. I also noticed her seating a couple right away and smiling and chatting away with them . I guess they were her friends. When she brought me the chq I paid and left a tip because I am sure a potion of the tip goes to kitchen staff. So did not want to punish the others for her lousy service. But I did mention to her about the service and her reply was I am very busy. Lady I am sorry but you should not be a waitress or in any service industry. My wife said I should have given her 0 tip for 0 service
Rude manager and owner. If you want to respect your family just dont go to this restaurant.
I dont know how this restaurant is still open when it has this impolite owner and manager.
Why theres no zero star? I had my worst experience in my whole life at this location. We were a family of four. Three of us ordered from their menu and as I preferred to have noodles and they didnt have in their menu I ordered from their neighbor restaurant and rudely the owner kicked out whole family and said its our rule and we dont need you. That was terrible this behavior in front of my kids and family. I think he should learn more about customer service, and society shouldnt support these types of businesses and owners.
If you are a family with your kids, just dont go to this restaurant as long as this rude owner is in charge.
Karuna is an AMAZING waitress. She always gives my family a booth to help for those who have bad backs. She remembers our usual drinks, etc. She makes sure the food is delivered with the best presentation (no spilt drinks running down the side, etc). This Coras is excellent food and, as already mentioned, wonderful in service!
Very bad service from the hosts We go for breakfast early in the morning with a good mood . However on arrival the hosts snaps at you refusing you to give a seat for a back rest , disappointing you with her brash attitude. Makes you wait for a long time to take an order and refuses to get for you . Kindly avoid this place , rather have breakfast at Frankie s with a warm vibe and environment
Great breakfast menus. Prompt service. Early bird menus before 8 am options are super. The fruit is always fresh and delicious! I always come back! Friendly staff like Karuina!
Breakfast at Cora s started out well. We were quickly seated by the front door staff. Then it took the waitress a long time to take our order. It took our meals even longer to arrive, and they were cold when they did. Our waters were never refilled and our waitress never came to our table to see how we liked our meals. My teenage son, who eats everything, did not like his cold meal and did not finish it. I had to ask for jam for my toast as well. Cora s needs to run more waitresses on shift as ours was pleasant when we did see her, but it was not often enough. Very disappointing from my previous Cora s experiences. I will not be in a hurry to return.
Meh. Mediocre quality food.
I went to go use the washroom with my 10 months granddaughter, The manager kick me out and called me B word I am regular customer there I am professional lady with master degree from UBC With 25 years management for clinical trials at Vancouver hospital and medical doctor back ground I never been insulted like that Very bad and sham on them to call me B word on my way out Shame on them
Great brunch place!
Terrible customer service , very rude and disgusting, disrespectful manager
Best breakfast in Victoria.
I went on vacation last weekend and ended up going core restaurant in Victoria for breakfast with my family but unfortunately had terrible experience with manager in front desk he was rude with my kids and my sister who was she pregnant hope they should have fix this problem
poor customer care from front desk manager he is so terrible and rude to my kids.
I recently visited your restaurant, and I was shocked by the disrespectful behavior of the manager. Upon entering with my family, we were met with rudeness and were even kicked out simply because we had our kids with us. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and it really ruined what should have been a pleasant dining breakfast experience.
Great place for breakfast
Ordered the waffle with carmel sauce. The waffle was chilled by the ice-cold carmel sauce, which should have been warmed. Cant put my finger on it, but something was different from two years ago when we were there. Not so sure were going back!
The breakfast was very good delicious fruit.. Enjoyed every bite.
We came to Cora at 7:45am on a Thursday morning. The restaurant was less than half full. We have a 3 month old baby in a small travel stroller that cannot hold her own head up full time just yet. From the second we walked in the young man at the front I could tell didn t know how to handle what was apparently an awkward situation for the restaurant. He wanted us to take our baby out of the stroller and put her in a high chair. We told him she couldn t do that because of her head control and that we would leave her in the stroller next to a table. We pointed towards the back where no one was sitting so we would be out of the way. He took us part of the way back and proceeds to say let me check with my manager to ensure she can stay in her stroller. First of all, as the parents we will decide where and how our daughter sits. I said to him well she s staying in there. He comes back and says it s okay this time, but in the future we prefer if she could sit in a high chair. My wife then rhetorically says do you not want kids here? And I said once again, she literally cannot hold her head up for more than a few minutes. He then said okay I m sorry and left. It wasn t his fault, he wasn t trained on how to handle the situation. Management, if a baby is about 4-6 months or younger, they most likely need to stay in the stroller. Work around it for your customer. Absurd experience.
All the breakfast was not bad but It took a long time for the food to be prepared
The prices have gone up since I started coming to Cora s 20 years ago. Still delicious!
Great breakfast
Kids had pancakes and I had an egg crepe. Mine was average.
Nice and comfortable place for breakfast-bruch, the food menu they have is extensive so there is something for all tastes and the portions are generous. It is advisable to arrive early (before 11am) so you dont have to wait long.
Lots of good food. Maybe too much food.
What a shock! We had a good meal at Coras in Vancouver (see my review), but in Victoria it was a big disappointment. We also ate a Franky Sandwich here, it was not fresh, toast was not crispy, sausage and beacon the same. The fried potatoes supplied were old and reheated. The water for tea not really hot. Then the service, there was a lady who did her best, but the motivation to make something of it was not there, the employee who served us the meal put the plates down without any reaction. We had to ask for the water that you normally get at the table. Is this an exception, no, we also had dinner there yesterday. We thought it could have been a miss yesterday, but no, today it was even worse. A miss Cora!! Too bad, I will skip Cora in Victoria. And that for 50 dollars!
Great breakfast and service.
Unfortunately, the restaurant can not guarantee that their gluten-free options are gluten-free. When we came to the restaurant, we asked if there was any choice for our child who had celiac, and we answered, Yes. When all of our members made an ordered it came to that they can not guarantee. If you can not guarantee, please do not put the sign for gluten-free options. It means you misinformed your customers with no relevant information.
Great take out breakfast with one complaint, the coffee was short filled an inch from the top and generally for a $3.75 charge for a medium drip coffee it would be appreciated to get a drink filled to enjoy what one is paying for.
Awesome Breakfust Lunch Restaurants. Lots of choices and good food/Portions. Very lively ambiance. Will go back again!
I used to go to court Cora quit regularly but the last time I went there it was absolutely atrocious it was so bad that I will never go back the service was horrible the attitude of the staff was unmistakably ridiculously rude Ill never go by there Ill never recommend it definitely never spend another dollar there and I dont recommend that anybody else is there either its really that bad
Great place to go with kids. New concept
Love the food and atmosphere here. It is a mandatory stop for us when in Victoria. Update 2024. Its still a great place to eat. Not to be missed for a filling lunch. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible. 3 steps to enter, bathrooms are upstairs.
There are so many places in Victoria which do better food and a more convivial atmosphere. Coras is fine for kids wanting a plate of fries, but it doesnt measure up against the competition for anything more serious. Food was mediocre at best, stodgy and synthetic, although the fresh fruit was welcome. Service was attentive, but the atmosphere was too bright, cartoony and with loud crackly radio drowning out conversation. Although it all felt cheap it wasnt, so poor value for money in my opinion. Would not recommend, sorry.
Gluten free options truly make this a place I will return to. Delicious food! I had the buckwheat crepes with sausage and fruit. Blessed Buckwheat I think it was called. Lots of options for every pallet.
Great breakfast options!
First time at Coras & will definitely be coming back. Excellent service with a chill environment! Plates are filled with plenty of tasty food!
Lots of options. Always enjoy the fresh fruit with my breakfast choice. Great portions, very friendly staff. Seating is comfortable but lacking a cozy feel.
So we came here planning to have breakfast/brunch. Since it was our first time here we asked to check the menus first and one of the hosts/servers gave us. A minute after she came to tell us that we have to sit down. We said that were still looking the menu. Then the next employee came and said that we need to move away cause we were blocking the door for the people (btw no one was on the door and we were standing on oposit side). They were so rude and unprofessional that we just left. Although food looked okay, service was awful and well never come back here again!!!
Generous portions. So many options. Good service
Great breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Good place to eat. Depending on size of your appetite, lots of fruit.
Cora has always been one if my favorite place for the food. Lately the service did a COMPLETE NOSEDIVE!! Place was not even that busy and it still took the server over 20 minutes to just come and take the order. Food took forever to come. Get your act together...
I came to dine alone at about 12:50. I have dined here before and never encountered this but I sat without service for nearly 40 minutes. No water or anything. The table next to me was of a family of four and they had all their meals before I got a glass of water even despite being seated after I was. I closed my menu and pushed it away from me and took off my headphones to signal that I was ready and still nothing. No apology after I was addressed and served either.
Great breakfast. Lots of vegetarian options.
Lovely brunch out, service was quick and friendly, food was great and the portions were generous.
The portions are huge and the service is relatively quick. A great location by far.
First time at Cora s. It s a bright, colorful restaurant with ample seating. We were seated instantly as it wasn t busy at 9am on a Tuesday, the coffee was great, just what I needed. I got the 10 Star omelet, the boss got what the boss wants .. the boss got the Boss s Favorite. Both dishes were packed with flavor and cheesy goodness, the fresh fruit garnish was a lovely accompaniment. Service was stellar, food was delicious, menu was a vast adventure of culinary delights.
Probably the worst breakfast i ve ever had in my life. i don t know how you can screw up breakfast this bad. i suggest you look for somewhere else to eat. Missing items , poorly made food , absolute garbage all around . waste of money.
A great place. Get there early to avoid waiting for a seat!
Server was awesome. Food was similar to Dennys
Meh. Not sure what I was expecting but wouldn t recommend to others. The worst part was our grumpy waiter, Yuri, who was perfunctory but lacked any enthusiasm. Food was decent, potatoes were the best part. The crepes were humongous. Vegetarian options: Several options but not in combination with other foods, such as sweet and savory plates.
Never disappointed, food is really delicious, love that it s the only breakfast place I ve found that includes fresh fruit in their dishes. Although I feel portions have gotten smaller and they no longer offer side bread.
Bad experience the manager can not work under stress, we were a group of more than 60 people and he almost kidded us out of the restaurant because he could not take the order. We will never repeat it again
Good was just ok. Nothing to write home about. I had an omelet which was oddly flat as opposed to rolled.
so good i loved it
No recommendation for drivers I did ask for the waiting time after waiting for 15 minutes and deepak* was so rude saying that why you are asking for waiting Time??? As you are saying that I was keep asking everyone for the order and waving my hand you can check your cameras there was nothing like that.
Great breakfast, friendly staff and affordable prices
Nice place for a tasty and filling breakfast/brunch. Lots of food options and great portion sizes. Service was good. Would be good for families. Quite large with plenty of space.
Food tasted excellent considering its cost. The personnel was amiable and accommodating, and the atmosphere was comfortable. Thank you Cora Breakfast and Lunch for warming welcome .
The best breakfast in Victoria, delicious bacon, eggs, waffles with a bit of everything, fresh fruit. Tasty potatoes and toast as well, 9.5/10. Very impressed
THE BEST BREAKFAST I HAD NEVER EATEN BEFORE I wish they have one here in Seattle,WA Food
Our recent visit to Coras left us with mixed feelings, overshadowed by an unfortunate encounter with the owner. While the servers were pleasant and the food lived up to expectations, our experience was marred by the owners unwelcoming demeanor towards late-arriving guests, the owners harsh reprimand directed at our friends, instructing them to wait rather than join our table, left us stunned. His tone and mannerisms conveyed an air of hostility that was both surprising and disappointing. Despite this unfortunate incident, the servers managed to salvage our dining experience with their warmth and attentiveness. The food, thankfully, upheld Coras reputation for delicious breakfast fare. However, the owners behavior left a lasting impression, one that made us question whether wed return in the future. Its disheartening to encounter such rudeness in what should be a welcoming dining environment. Hopefully, the management takes steps to address such behavior, ensuring that all guests feel valued and respected.
Food was good. A lot of unusual combinations. Everything comes with fruit which was really good.
Hi, The front desk guy is so rude towards immigrants. I heard very good reviews about the food but never going there again. I was patiently standing at the front desk to let that guy know my friends are already there while he was on the phone. After the call I couldn t finish my line that my friends are already here and might have reserved place for me. He very angrily said wait, you can t go in. This is not how system works here. And he told a staff to put extra chairs on the table and didn t even say that now it s ok to go in. He could have handled the situation with etiquettes and respect but he has no understanding of being in a service business and treat people with respect.
I recently visited Cora with a group of friends for a special occasion. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant, primarily due to the rude behavior exhibited by the restaurant owner. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were excited to enjoy a meal together and celebrate our gathering. However, when we requested seating for our group of seven (arrived with in an interval of 10 minutes), the owner flat out refused, citing some vague excuse about their system/software. While we understood that restaurants have limitations, the manner in which we were turned away was nothing short of disrespectful. The owners attitude was appalling. Instead of offering any form of apology or attempting to accommodate us in any way, he simply brushed us off with a dismissive gesture. His rude behavior made it clear that he had no interest in providing quality service or maintaining customer satisfaction. As someone who has worked in the service industry myself, I know firsthand the importance of treating customers with respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, the owner of Cora seems to have missed that memo entirely. Needless to say, my friends and I were deeply disappointed by our experience. In conclusion, I would strongly advise against patronizing Cora restaurant . The lack of hospitality and professionalism displayed by the owner is unacceptable and does not deserve the support of the community. There are plenty of other establishments that value their customers and understand the true meaning of hospitality. Save your time and money by dining elsewhere, where your patronage is appreciated and respected.
If youre from the US, this place is a lot like Dennys or IHOP. Server was super nice and helpful.
Great dinner right downtown, love to come back every now and than, staff is always friendly and food is just great.
New owner & staff. Not the same experience as before. Wayyyy too expensive.
Great brunch
Refused to serve us because my 8 year old son is celiac.
Really enjoyed the Crêpe special today. The service was exceptional, and Ill definitely have to come back and try other menu items.
Got the chocolate pancakes & my partner got the French Toast Surprise. The French toast was good, but the bananas on my pancakes had a slight onion taste (I know sometimes cutting boards can retain flavours?) The service was great and Madison was very kind and welcoming. Food came out quick and overall was pretty good.
Small portions but friendly staff and a great atmosphere
Great place!
Me and my girls favorite breakfast place on the island everythings fresh made right then and love the fruit with the meals!
Such a bright sunny atmosphere, spacious, friendly environment and Servers. Quick to get tabled. Great lunch menu, a whole lot to choose from! 5 stars for all. Good food. Good service. Good $$. Ranges from $13-26 pending selections
Cora is a decent resturant with a nice menue. However, the cutlery and dishes could be cleaner. The food was decent but I had some uncooked potatos.
It was a very pleasant experience...hopefully it will be the same even with a different server.
The breakfasts are always great Even though very busy the service is outstanding Food
After seeing the TV Ad about the Crepe Festival, we drove to town , only to encounter a locked door at 2:00 p.m., when their website states that they are open until 3 p.m. Of course, we were extremely disappointed. We tried again the following Saturday and we experienced the same locked door at 1:30 p.m. We were told that one of their burners was not working. How can a problem that has the effect of disappointing customers, your bread & butter, be allowed to go on for over a week?
I dont expect much from Cora. But I didnt expect the service, food, and experience to be as horrendous as it was at this location. The server took far too long to serve us, he was incredibly rude, and clearly lacked the skills to be in this role. The food was terrible. In the end I just paid my bill and left because I was done with this place. Im sure this place is capable of providing and ok experience but my experience was terrible here. I would not recommend it.
Good food
I love their blueberry pancake! It is fluffy, light, and tasty. Also a must try is their sausage. Aside from the food, the staff are nice and approachable. Overall, it is a nice brunch place to try.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Really great eclectic breakfast options with high quality ingredients and a reasonable price. Wait time was a bit long but if you go before peak lunch hour you ll be ok. Service was slightly sluggish but overall a good experience! Parking: Limited and expensive time limited parking in downtown Victoria
Very good food for a reasonable price! Worth the line outside.
The overall food menu and the taste was good but the owner of this place needs to learn some etiquette. Being a customer centric facility, you cannot mistreat or disrespect people coming to your restaurant. There is a clear biased towards citizens and immigrants in his behavior. Totally unacceptable. Never going there again and wouldnt recommend anybody to visit either. Edit - There was no sign board saying staff only area in the aisle. I was not trying to enter the service area. I stepped in the aisle to say hello to one of my friends I saw working inside the live kitchen. Even if I did enter the place by mistake, I did apologize for not realizing its a staff only area and you kept waving rudely and kept saying move out of this space right now. You could have politely said that I should wait outside but you didnt. You wouldnt have done the same if it was a white person because of the fear of getting sued. Also, Im not the only customer whove decided not to visit your restaurant ever again because of this behavior. One needs to learn to be hospitable before they decide to be a part of hospitality industry.
Always a good breakfast, and there is whatever your heart desires.
Had a brunch, tried the crepeomlette it was an interesting dish that was half crepe half omelette. Great location.
Abundant and tasty food. Vegetarian options: The menu features fruit-only options. Kid-friendliness: There are kids metal
DELIGHTFUL. I am visiting from Vancouver and I came into Coras very early (0630) on Wed. Jan. 04th and I cannot say enough how very much I enjoyed my meal. The server and service was impeccable, the food presentation was truly impressive and the breakfast (Steak Benny) was insanely delicious. Ill definitely be back and I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Parking: Street parking available at city rates Wheelchair accessibility: I would be surprised that any business doesn t have wheel chair access Recommended dishes English Cream on Top Parking space
Great great food, lots of it! Gluten free and vegetarian options. I give it a 4 star as it was pricey.
There is no wheelchair access so if you are walking disabled, they cannot serve you in dignity, you may be able to roll through their kitchen - but staff was not entirely sure. Food was quite tasty, though, and staff was conventionally friendly.
The food was delicious although a bit pricey. Parking on the street was expensive.
First, you will be asked for a drink. When you run out of coffee, they will ask you to add more. The food was plentiful and satisfying. The atmosphere inside was calm and not too busy, perfect for breakfast.
Very central, looked pretty busy, but the wait was very short. Food was delicious and fresh. Portion sizes are on par with the price. Even though it was busy we were taken care of by our server very well. Our coffee was checked often and refills were right on time. The kid sizes are decent sized portions even for a 10yr old. It was a little louder than Id like but as a place with an open kitchen I guess it should be expected. Kid-friendliness: Its pretty much the best breakfast place to take kids in this area, they are very nice and accepting of kids.
Love the fact they serve fruit with mist breakfast dishes.
I have been a Cora s customer since the first small restaurant in St Laurent. Same classics on the menu. I love the Rosemary Sunday and the early bird specials. The restaurant was surprisingly busy this morning with a lineup, but it was moving steadily. Don t forget to pick your « Sucre à la crème » square before hitting the exit.
Great food and very attentive server.
Cora offers an outstanding breakfast and lunch experience with diverse range of tempting choices. We ordered Nacho grilled cheese Sandwich and Gigi (Omelet) with Maple Latte. The breakfast was delicious, but the latte experience fell far short of expectations. The service was notably slow, with the server arriving late and appearing occupied with other customers, impacting the overall quality of the dining service. While Ive had positive experiences at other Cora locations, particularly favoring the one in Vancouver. Hopefully, our next experience will be more positive.
Best option for town. Check the menu doesn t explain everything
Good
Everything is delicious, you just have to arrive very early or after 12 because there is a long line to get in.
Basic breakfast spot with a wide range of options. Service was good, food took quite a while despite the place emptying rapidly. Had a cold plate arrive but was fixed quickly. Flavours were good, everyone enjoyed their meal.
Excellent but a bit pricey
I like this place but they don t post proper hours and we showed up to find it closed. Arrived at 2:05 pm, hours say open until 3. I can t stand this kind of thing, it s not that hard to post your hours. Parking: Douglas street location Victoria BC.
Madison is the best server!!!! I love Coras breakfast yummy yummy.
