The food was very tasty but cold. There was only waitress who forgot about our food as I saw it sit there for at least 10 minutes. We then had ask about our food at tables that had sat down after were eating.

I was there last Saturday for a quick breakfast and everything was great! The place was packed and the young lady working the counter was very friendly and professional.

You guys will Always be heroes ! We dont forget! Thank you thank you for opening your doors to everyone in tough times!

My friend took me for brunch the other day. It was my first visit and enjoyed the delicious food, great service and atmosphere.

Got the eggs benny with my husband. Overall, the impression was not great. The portion was small for the price we had to pay, especially knowing that everything was from Superstore. Props to the chef who has a tiny space to work in with a huge menu. Unfortunately, both my husband and I had cramps and diarrhea after.. might have got food poisoned.

One flimsy piece of ham. Premium prices like all other restaurants but of poor quality. The English muffin tasted like it was baked dry in the oven.

We don t eat pork, asked them to serve breakfast for four persons without pork and after whipping the grill, they didn t even think about and referred us other restaurant. Very disappointing racist behavior, unfriendly environment, absolutely not recommended

I had the regular Benny and the wife had the Peach French toast. Both were absolutely amazing and the food came out very quick. Our server ( French accent) was an absolute gem and the prices were more than fair. Great place !

I called in on the weekend and pre-ordered food. I had done this before during the week. Unfortunately, during this one weekend, I called to pre-order food to have it ready when I arrived, and when I arrived I waited in line to pay and grab my food. The cashier asked the customers in line who had preordered and when I said I did she asked me to come up to the counter to take my food that was sitting there . As I paid she made a big scene saying how pre-ordering isn t effective and made me feel like I had done something wrong?! This all occurred while I m paying for my order and them apologizing to the other patrons. They were the ones who answered the phone and took my order, I just asked for it to be made in advance. Another male worker said I was trying to jump the line but admitted he had seen me on other occasions at the restaurant when I ve ordered in this exact way in the past. This whole interaction was hostile and caused me anxiety. Again, no one said no on the phone. I was met with humiliation and discontent that ruined my other many positive experiences. Horrible brunch experience. I let them know that I didn t feel safe in their space and that I will have to put this review on social media.

A cozy nook under the motorcycle dealer, very convenient location, delicious food (omelette), friendly staff (I was greeted immediately), and some nice seating inside or out on the patio.

A small little cafe that has good coffee, and oat milk, including some vegan food options that are actually good. Nice spot, and service was good. Comfortable place that I feel everyone would walk away from without complaint, but will never blow you away. From top to bottom it defines pretty good.

We have just finished having Eggs Benedict at Sunnyside Cafe, after being away from Esquimalt for several years. Steph still makes the best this side of Venus and Mars!! Can t wait to pay a return visit soon.

Sunnyside is my go-to breakfast spot. It s a cozy location. Consistently good food and service. Coffee tastes good. I ve been to likely half of the breakfast places in Victoria and still while there are some places that may have more selection or variety I prefer and recommend this place for its consistency and tasty all day breakfasts. I typically only get breakfast Eggs Benny breakfasts with drip coffee.

Food is OK but for 50 dollars tax in for 2 adults I was not expecting to get dehydrated egg powder scrambled eggs, I wanted real eggs! Also hygiene is not good. The potatoes are being elaborated with bare hands, every customer dirty hands can take the self serve coffee container, no alcohol gel available nearby and the coffee / tea mugs could not be any more stained! They are all different too. Were they bought at the thrift store right next door on the corner of that same block or something? For a place this busy and with these prices you could at least renew your mugs and get rid of the stained ones from time to time Edit: Answering the owner. Yes, food is prepared with hands but with gloves ON so that germs under your nails wont get passed to food, specially for food not fully cooked through. A commercial kitchen scenario doesnt justify not following correct hygiene protocols!!! You never addressed the lack of sanitation gel and any customer self serving the coffee with dirty hands! Your excuse for the yellow scale/tartar in the old cup in which I was served is sooo absurd. Paint? It is easy to see on the photo that this is not a craft mug. This is an old stained mug that should have been replaced long ago

This place is awesome! I cant stop thinking about how thick the bacon is on the BLT, or how juicy and big the chicken is on the clubhouse. The GF bread was toasted to perfection and there is even a baby changing table in the WC. My father got me a gift cert and the owner even remembered my dad and their phone conversation. Top notch.

The Veggie Hashplate is the best dish in Victoria. (Im not even a vegetarian.) The hollandaise they use is out of this world. Mixed with the feta, potatoes & all the lightly sautéed veggies, I find myself craving this meal at all odd hours. The price is right, the food is delicious, you wont be disappointed!

Great little breakfast spot! Service was good, and the food was decent. They make big, huge, cubed potato hashbrowns, which arent my personal favorite, so that was a downside for me, but thats totally personal preference. Id go back for sure!

Not great. Tiny little restaurant with barely any seating. The kitchen is open and right there as you enter and the only ventilation seems to be the front door so we reeked of bacon on our way out and that s never fun. The benny was just ok, the sauce was white and tasted like watered down mayo. The vegan burrito lacked flavour and the potatoes were not all cooked. Very dissatisfied with our experience. The worst part was probably that the bathroom was filthy and the restaurant itself wasn t much cleaner. I d go anywhere else if I were you.

Good people, good food. When its cold or raining or both, their limited seating has been packed last two times there so couldnt stay. Be nice if they would have heat lamps outside. Nowhere to eat, sadly. Do recommend the food though.

Visiting from WA state, ate breakfast here on our last day. Simply amazing! hands down the best huevos rancheros Ive ever had. The flavor and size portion . Coffee was a bit too strong, hubby had the eggs, chorizo and potatoes. The chorizo is homemade and was also very good. Thank you for great food and friendly service! Parking: 1 hour street parking Monday -Friday.

My daughter and I decided to try out this little cafe one dreary morning for brunch, and boy were we not disappointed. Id easily say these were some of the best waffles Ive had, and Im so glad they served them because I was *really * craving waffles

Another obscure find in Victoria for those who want a quick brunch. The staff was super friendly and incredibly fast. The atmosphere was nice with collections of local art for sale and of course a nautical theme. Although quite small inside, there was outside patio seating.

They have very tasty food, and I would argue the best eggs benedict in town. Service is good and the food usually comes out within ten minutes. That being said I have two complaints. Good luck finding somewhere to sit inside on a Saturday or Sunday. They have limited spacing so remember to bring a coat for the patio. Also their potato game is weak. In the picture is an example of what they give you for paying for extra potatoes. This is not the first time they have done this.

Really lovely cafe. The Mediterranean Benny is my go-to! Its the perfect portion and the pesto-hollandaise with feta is to die for!

The food is so delicious. We ate everything on the plate and forgot to take pictures. Highly recommended. Ingredients tasted fresh. Kid-friendliness: They have outdoor seating, so dogs and kids are friendly.

Wonderful 1st visit. Had the Chilli chicken wrap, delicious. Also had the Strawberry smoothie which was yummy and perfect for a hot day. Hubby enjoyed the benny benny. So much food, had to take home 1/2 my wrap...the smoothie was so filling but so good. Met the owners and they are wonderful. Will definitely visit again and share this with friends. Thank you for a fabulous Friday date day.

Never had a bad meal here yet. The staff are kinda friendly, most of the time, when theyre in good mood, and youre behaving... But if youre bad, theyll be firm, yet fair. Kinda sounds like my parents! Di6g friendly outside. Great for watching people go by. Street parking.

I accidentally found this place, and have recruited 3 good friends to accompany me at different days. Every breakfast I have had there was delicious and my friends loved it. Vegetarian options: I had the veggie hash. Best hash ever! I am not even vegetarian

Brisk and accurate service. Western diner fare with a few lighter options. Off menu requests handled without issue.

First time ordering lunch to go. My only complaint is that I ordered and sat down and waited for 15 minutes. I got up to see what was taking so long because I ordered a club house and the potatoes were already ready when I first ordered. Not sure how long my order sat there but I wasnt really impressed that I had to come back to the counter and stand there for another few minutes before I got my takeout. Having said my peace, the food was good and they are a busy cafe, so Im guessing its because they make great food. Because the food was good, Id certainly go back to try breakfast.

This used to be my favourite breakfast stop. We have not frequented as much since covid. I used to rave and 100% recommend this place. Unfortunately not anymore. Food mediocre today compared to other available options. The cook heard me order what I used to order. Huevos rancheros. Gluten free please I heard him huff/snort and shake his head, I was taken aback - actually wondering if he was upset at my order. The lovely young lady taking my order- just explained it would come all disassembled. I agreed ok regardless of it being different than in the past, in the past, they just built it on top of the tomatoes instead of the flour tortilla. No biggie, I asked friendly and politely and thanked them. It was confirmed his attitude was for my request; when he was not great at his blunt- so without the tortilla.?! Directed to me. I did not ask to be a problem - it has never been a problem in past - and no its definitely NOT a choice for me. I would rather not spend the day sick. I was actually completely fine to have it disassembled on the plate- I am fine with changes, however, it was almost like he didn t even want to bother to try, and RUDE. Besides leaving a bad customer service experience., my husband s meal was not exceptional compared to other local options. I work in industry similar- I know it makes it harder when people say they have food allergies or diagnosis and its not ligit. BUT I will not recommend this place anymore. Try the Blue Fox, Try The Village, Cora, Jam .

First visit today after living in Victoria for over 35 years, dont know what took us so long. Vegetarian options: I am not a vegetarian but appreciated that you had a menu that could accommodate vegetarians Dietary restrictions: NO dietary restrictions. Parking: Had no problem parking, thanks for asking. Kid-friendliness: I am sure kids would love to eat here. Wheelchair accessibility: Looked like management knew what they were doing.

Awesome little brunch spot! Walk up style service with seat yourself eating area was refreshing. Food was amazing, the House Benny is highly recommended! Great coffee as well. New go-to brunch spot for us!

Thought wed try out this local spot that seemed to be getting good reviews.. Unfortunately, after we were seated in one of their 3 booths, we decided to get the food to go due to tables being sticky even after she cleaned them with an old dish rag that just smeared the dirt around. The food was decent enough, but wont be returning due to the cleanliness of the restaurant. Outdoor patio seemed the best option if youre going to dine in.

Loved the food. You can go order inside, and they will serve it on your table. Super easy and the food is really amazing. Their coffees are commendable too! Vegetarian options: A lot of veg and vegan options are available. I loved their vegan beans patties

Server was not very attentive. She past by our table on several occasions, never offered to top up our water or coffee. When asked to do so, she quickly forgot about it when she returned to the kitchen counter. Also, she was wearing her mask down on her chin with nose and mouth exposed whilst serving.

Yummy breakfast, large menu, small venue. Usually busy & since there are Only a few tables inside dress warm in case you need to sit outside, otherwise, you can wait for a table inside and it s usually not a long wait. Bottomless coffee and great breakfast portions. If you re hungry I recommend trying the hash plate!

I love this place it s become the go-to brunch spot every time I am in Vic, which is pretty often. They are always busy during lunch time but they are quick!

Nice little hole in the wall cafe. Its pretty tiny 3 booths inside, with a eating bar. There is a patio outside with a few more spots. Food was good, though my eggs didnt suit me as much. Service was good and I like the cozy atmosphere of small cafes. If youre ever in the area take some care and check it out.

Such a varied menu, for even the fussiest eater. Calm atmosphere, terrific food, fair prices. What more do you want?

My fiance and I have been here several enjoyed. We decided to stop there today before we headed to Sandcut Beach. Our food took almost an hour which would have been ok but both our soups were cold. They were sent back and we waited almost 15 more minutes for reheted soup. We decided to leave as we wanted to start our journey. I went in and asked for my money back for the soup so we could be on our way. I was told at that point it was ready i explained we were wanting to go and was asked if we wanted it to go which i said was not an option as we would be out all day. She reluctantly returned my $5.25 ad said thank you. I said thank you as i turned around which i know she didnt hear because as I walked away she sarcasticly replied your welcome very rudely. I was a little irritated right until that point she could have said nothing but chose to let her frustrations out on a paying customer also because of your pay structure and our previous experiences there I tipped her 15% which I wish I would have asked for back I am disappointed and frustrated we originally came after seeing it on Chek and met the owner the 1st time we were there. I wouldnt recommend it after today.

This place is amazing!! Great staff that is friendly and always smiling and food is incredible! Inside is small but has lots of great outdoor seating and that s what we prefer anyways. Hollandaise sauce is wicked awesome and definitely worth a try on any dish you get :) enjoy! Your taste buds and stomach will be grateful you ate there.

Worth the wait

Amazing little place

We were downtown, looking to support non invasive businesses. None.... so I looked on bc businesses against health pass, and found sunnyside.... The staff and the food were equally amazing, great menu selection, attentive server, total team effort in making sure all the guests were happy.... I had the house Benny..... Omg..... Go try their unique twist on such a classic dish...... Never would I ever thought to use that on a Benny..... What did they use, go and find out for yourself, cuz its delish, and I will drive out there and eat then go down to the waterfront (nearby) for a little after brunch stroll again.

Great restaurant, yummy food, nice staff! We enjoyed an afternoon lunch, my wife had their waffles with fruit compote, and I had their mushroom bacon burger with hash browns. The food came out quick for as busy as they were, very delicious food! I recommend anyone in the area to give this amazing restaurant a try.
