Excellent commercial premises full of a variety of Italian-style products, their coffee, despite not having been served in a cup, tasted good, normal for coffee lovers, you can choose a sweet, sandwich, salads or simply order cold cuts, there is great variety of cheeses. In our case, we lost a cannoli that was made in the traditional way and a chocolate mouse, both divine and with good presentation. They have ice creams that are said to be very good, you have to try them to confirm. It is worth visiting this place and having a great time.

THE Italian delicacies, cafe, and real deal gelato place to go to, in Victoria. Nice serene outdoor seating, excellent quality, good selection. Tip: Come after 4:30 pm when its less busy, and the afternoon sun warms up the patio.

Love this shop. Frozen pasta dishes to take home to cook, cheese, breads, deli meats, olive oil, canned tomato products and other amaziny ylg products to cook with. And then there is the luncheon side with salads and daily specials, cookies, Gelato and coffee. Today, they had 10 luncheon specials and 7 were sold out before 2:00 pm! Yum!!

Always delicious. So many great treats in their bakery, and wonderful cheeses, meats, and olives on their deli side. I ve wanted to go for a sit down breakfast there for a while, just never got around to it yet.

Great neighbourhood shop - we drop in on weekends and pick up lovely bread and cheeses, and enjoy Italian coffees and baked goods. Staff are friendly and the small patio offers a great people watching perch in Oak Bay.

Super nice workers here, beautiful little shop with plenty of places to sit down and eat outside. Absolutely love their chai lattes and lombardo panini. Its a staple on Oak Bay Avenue, keep up the awesome work!

Most mornings I come here for a latte and pastry, but that s not the whole reason. The dynamic duo of Dawn and Christina keep me coming. Their glowing personalities and warm welcomes are the best in town. Dawn truly cares about the products she makes and the customers that frequent the cafe. Keep up the great work!

Everything is delicious!

While on vacation we found this very busy bakery one afternoon in the Oak Bay district of Victoria. Overwhelmed by the choice of fresh baked goods I chose almond brioche and brioche alla canella because both were next to the cash and they were both beautiful. The almond flavour flowed through the entire brioche and it was so fresh. The cinnamon brioche were made like small puddings, wonderful. A great dessert resource but expect line ups. Parking lot and on street parking available.

I visit here every time I come to Victoria. Their special cake for Valentine s Day was great. Service is always friendly. And the cookies rule.

I will give 3 stars for the benefit of the doubt, since I haven t bought any products from the deli. However, I will never be able to invite my Italian friends to an Italian bakery who serves a grilled cheese panini with a single thin slice of cheese and nothing else.They would feel offended. And definitely not worth the $12 plus tax. I should have taken a picture to post here, to demonstrate how graphic the issue is.

This is a very nice place, there s a friendly vibe, great coffee and treats and food. They forgot to put in some public wifi, which is a bit of a pain. Overall really nice place and I enjoy going going there and recommend it. :)

Great atmosphere, pleasant view, all kinds of tasties. My 12 oz Americano was brewed too hot, had little flavour and set me back almost $5 - plenty of better coffee options nearby.

Went to Ottavio s Italian Bakery and Deli today and was blown away by how kind and helpful all the staff were! It was such a warm and welcoming place, beautifully laid out, with many delicious options of all kinds! Lovely patio seating too. Such a special spot, highly recommend! Thank you :)

One of my go-to places for lunch or to grab a morning brioche bun when I m in Victoria. Best chai latte I ve ever had and I love the Primavera panini. Good selection of Italian cheeses, meats and condiments. Plenty of seating options and pretty patio area.

I have always thought the croissants from Ottavio were as good as those I had in Paris. We recently had friends visit us from France who, after eating a croissant from Ottavio, agreed that they were as good as the ones they regularly got in France!

Doesnt make Italian pastries and yet calls itself an Italian bakery.

I love the selection of cheese, especially the small 2-3 serving size sample pieces that they sell so you can try a whole bunch. They also have a great selection of oils and vinegars.

Wanted to grab a cup of coffee and some ice cream 40 minutes before closing time. Did not get served and ignored for 10 minutes by rude personal.

Some of the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend getting a sandwich if you go

I had a wonderful time at the Ottavio Italian Bakery & Delicatessen Cafe! Their coffee was amazing - fresh, aromatic, and truly satisfying. The pastries were a treat for the eyes and the taste buds; not only beautifully decorated but also incredibly delicious. The only hiccup we faced during our visit was the slightly wobbly table outside, which made us a bit nervous about our coffee spilling. Despite that issue, the overall atmosphere was charming and pleasant, making it an enjoyable place to spend time. The workers were the highlight of our visit - welcoming, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Their friendliness added an extra layer of warmth to the whole experience. I highly recommend this Italian cafe and bakery to anyone who appreciates good coffee, delectable pastries, and a friendly ambiance. Its a perfect spot to relax and unwind, and Im already looking forward to returning for more delightful moments.

Must be nice to be making so much money you can afford to turn business away. Refused to serve me take away because I had 2 small dogs.

Had the ice cream only, the pistachio flavour was very well done. Cute little shop and restaurant that seemed to have a lot of Italian food and goods.

Great location and beautiful patio seating area. Ordering food is a little difficult cause the staff seem to have trouble with the ordering computers, so expect to wait to place an order and then wait again to get your order. The gelato is very good, the baked goods are just okay and are expensive.

This place was quaint, spacious, and served a great cappuccino and a delicious Florentine dessert akin to almost a citrus-like almond roca. I highly recommend stopping by for a to-stay beverage as their staff are abundant, pleasant, and ready to serve. They ask that you just leave your dishes on the tables as there is no customer access point for dirty dishes!

Such a cute place for coffee and snacks. A few tables inside and outside, we had to wait a moment but got a table fairly quickly. The coffee is so good I would get it to go if I had to. Definitely coming back.

Ottavio Italian Bakery is a Oak Bay institution, a sanctuary not only for hundreds of globally imported cheeses, but also many staples and specialty products. Around in one form or another since 2017 and run by the same community for generations, the store not only ages their own cheeses but also cures their own meats, and is home to 16,000 ingredients imported from all over the world.

What a great find! Not only did they have delicious caffeinated beverages and treats, but an amazing selection of cheese, deli meats, fresh baked breads and savoury accompaniments! We got some wonderful cheese from Quebec for fondue, and are excited to try the wild boar sliced meat! Staff are very friendly! It can get busy, so be patient, it is worth the wait!

Loved our first visit to Ottavio recently. We enjoyed an assortment of treats while we stayed; pastries, espresso, and gelato for the kids. To go we took some delicious deli meats. Can t wait to visit again next time we re in town.

The coffee here is the best I ve had in all of Oak Bay. The dessert and pastry choices are incredible (I loved the almond croissant) and the bathrooms are full of fun news articles about the history of this place. Friendly staff and very reasonably priced.

4.50 is a lot for a croissant but my god do they know how to make a good croissant. Coffee is alright

Its a bit of an escape to stop by Ottavianos for a croissant and coffee, and 45 minutes on their perfect patio. Ive yet to try their various other baked goods, sandwiches, deli offerings, or gelato, but youll find them here if thats what youre after.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great selection. Very fancy. The kind of place Frasier would go to if he lived in Victoria instead of Seattle.

Wow. Just wow. Came in for some items for a charcuterie board for a nice summer dinner. The gentleman who helped us was incredible (Im sorry I didnt get your name, but you got a chefs knife for your 10th birthday). He made wonderful suggestions for both meats and cheeses and this was one of the best charcuteries Ive ever had. So good! The selection of meats/cheeses was diverse but not overwhelming. Thank you Ottavio, we will definitely be back (especially as its across from the Oaks restaurant, which is one of our faves).

Beautiful bakery and cafe. Its space and location gives a positively quaint vibe, perhaps a bit like Mediterranean feel with that water fountain outside. Baked items tasted delicious and coffee tasted fresh. Great atmosphere overall for some relaxed conversations with friends, family, or new connections.

I love this place, good service and usually good food, but the hazelnut gelato did not taste like anything, single scoop was the smallest scoop ever. I went for Hagen Daaz.

Good coffee and pastries but the pastries are small for the price compared to other cafes in Victoria. The location is really pretty and has a really nice fountain that my son loved.

Ottavio offers some of the best selections of cheeses, meats and olives imported from Europe while also having a stunning bakery and great selection of accoutrements for your charcuterie. Crackers, preserves, pastas, sauces, they have it all. Staff is helpful and patient when choosing cheeses and you ll leave with more than you planned! Their burrata is amazing but book early as they sell out. Weekends are extremely busy here as well as lunches because of the cafe side. Come early or be disappointed

Worst tasting Americano ever!

A fun little Italian café, deli, bakery, and has a small grocery section. A bit pricey, but everything in Oak Bay is.

The very best , cant wait to go back

Food is great. Ambiance is amazing. Was disappointed by the service though. I think I was clear when I ordered for 1x 3-scoop ($7.25) gelato and was charged instead for 3 x 1-scoop $ 12.75 ($4.25 x3). I paid prior to being served. Me being over excited as it was my 1st time here was only paying half attention to the amount I paid which came to about $20+. When the gelatos were put in diff containers i started to wonder but thought they were probably being generous with the containers. I asked for the receipt and my suspicions were confirmed. When i told the guy who took my order and served the gelato, he said it is charged per scoop if its placed in different containers. I didnt request for that and he also didnt ask me if I wanted 3 separate ones. I told him that wasnt what I wanted and he only replied with...ohhhh. Nothing else. No matter how good the food is, it got overshadowed by being charged an additional $5 for a 2 plastic bowls and spoon. It was my mistake that I didnt check my receipt right away, and I understand that misunderstanding happens, but I just felt that it couldve been handled better than by just saying ohhh.

A wonderful spot for a coffee and pastry (patio or indoors) but there is so much more! Quality cheese, bread, meat, Italian pasta, jam, prepared meals, olive, eggs, oil .... and on!! The interior is small but a wheelchair can maneuver. The staff are very cheery and helpful. There is a ramp at the front at street level but a manual chair may need some assistance as it is quite long. Its in 3 parts so there is a chance to rest part way up if need be.

The cheese selection has soooo many options. Go there, listen to their flavour suggestions, grab a baguette, go home, make a cheese board, pour a glass of wine and enjoy. You/they can not go wrong.

Excellent pastries. The strawberry rhubarb galettes are sublime, the perfect blend of sweet, tart, and buttery. The croissants are also delicious. Hats off to the chef, and to the lovely staff who offered assistance.

Ottavio is the go-to delicatessen in Victoria. It is excellent for both deli products and cafe/patisserie. A delicious range of fresh meats and cheeses are on offer. Service is always friendly and prices are reasonable. There s also a lovely patio out front to sit at and enjoy your purchases. A million miles better than Bull & Sons on Fort St, where I ve been sold products that were not fresh and received very rude service. Ottavios is where it s at!
