This place is the real deal, such a warm family oriented business and great service and delicious food. We really like the ginger beef and the sweet and sour pork.

I set the bar low expecting typical greasy Chinese food. Somehow this place disappointed. Dont waste your time with the ginger beef, it is a lot of deep fried batter with a miniscule shred of beef in the middle. Hopefully things change as it is very convenient.

Its really good. We had the bbq fried rice. The rice had a nice wok smoky flavour. Perfectly chewy. I liked.

Fair and good Chinese food

Great menu options for most cravings, dont forget their other Chicken On The Run menu. My favorites are there many noodle boxes or their chicken dishes butchered in house. Good value and consistent quality make this business a regular go to.

In the past, we loved the Ginger Beef but it has changed and not for the better. The Ginger beef seems to be battered and deep fried now. This makes the ginger beef not crispy, but mushy with batter. The beef and broccoli did not have much beef, with a lot of liquid. Quite different from the past once again and the chop suey had too much celery compared to the few vegetables. Hardly any sprouts were added, when originally asking for a side order of sprouts. Was very disappointed in this order.

SO delicious

Ordered once and wouldnt order again. I like Westernized Chinese food, but every dish was over battered and deep fried, including the dumplings! The noodles were rubberyy. We threw it all out.

Nothing special ... pain jane greasy Chinese food. Most dishes taste all the same. Portion size is smaller than most for the price. Hit and miss if fresh, usually not. Rice is always old. Delivery drivers are hit and miss as well.

They have fantastic Chinese food. The ginger beef is some of the best youll ever find. Its been a while since Ive tried their chicken, but I recall it being great too.

Im giving these guys a 5. They deserve better than under 4 stars. Ill be honest the building outside is unappealing but the Asian food I had was delicious! Ginger beef, not too chewy like many make it, an excellent vegetable crispy noodle dish and a special fried rice. I wish the menu was bigger but thought prices were reasonable and the food..excellent!

I think they have invested in teleportation. I have twice ordered food and it has arrived way, WAY sooner than I expected. Sorry to the delivery driver for not having pants on yet...

1 star, but +1 stars for the service, and +1 star for only giving one of us mild food poisoning instead of both of us. Looking at the other glowing reviews, I have to assume theres more than one chef.

Ordered from here as an alternative to our usual place since it was closed on New Years Day. We were very impressed with the food! Everything was hot and tasty! The ginger beef was light and crispy. The sweet + sour pork and garlic veggies were also very good. The chow mein was yummy (though was a tad greasy). We ordered 4 dishes for 2 people and had plenty of leftovers. Would recommend to anyone looking for decent Chinese food in Victoria!

Eat their food. Be happy. The crispy beef, sesame chicken, & fried chicken are life changing. I m not a local but any time business brings me to Victoria I order take out from here.

Unlikely place but great food

I read several reviews before posting mine. I can only assume that the 5 star and positive ones are from people who have no idea what real Chinese food tastes like. I have eaten Chinese food in the states from coast to coast. What I ordered from here was totally horrible. I could not recognize what was what. No duck sauce. No hot mustard. No napkins. The flavor was off. To top it all off, we used the skip the dishes app. We were shorted two items worth almost 40 dollars. Calamari and spring rolls. After contacting customer service all they would do is credit the app. I explained that I did not live here and would never use that app again, could they please credit back my card. No, was the answer. So basically my Chinese food experience on the island was more of an experiment. Talk about a bad taste in your mouth....

Got the food I paid 40 dollars for and it was inedible I wont he ordering there again!

Best Ginger Beef on the island worth the drive from Langford!

Paid over $40 for a pile of dry, underseasoned noodles. The kung pow chicken was missing the chicken. Not even as good as food court chinese, but more costly. Tried to keep an open mind, but bad chinese food is bad chinese food.

The best Chicken Balls I have ever eaten and very good Ginger Beef too. One of my favorite places to get takeout in Victoria.

We had several items from the Crown Palace menu. The amount of meat in the Lemon chicken and the crispy ginger beer was very small. Very thin strips contained in massed of breading. The flavours were about what you would expect at any other North American Chinese take away, which isnt what we were expecting. The Crispy Ginger Beef was soggy, and the sauce was pooling in the bottom of the container. It wasnt the best, if anything, not even average. We wont be going back for more.

I used to eat at this place when I lived in Victoria! Its gone way down hill since then. me and my boyfriend ordered over $70 worth of GARBAGE. it was a special treat as we live on an island with few restaurants, Big mistake ill never make again. I feel sorry for the people who work producing GARBAGE not fit for animals.

Great service both chicken on the run & crown palace have amazing food. Noodles dishes arent heavy & additions are always fresh.

So glad we tried this place for Chinese food, it was the best I have had in Victoria so far!! I am usually disappointed, but not this time.

Food was very greasy. Tasted like old oil was used for cooking. Lemon chicken barely had chicken in it, rice was greasy and tasted burnt. Ginger beef was so over fried was like chewing rubber. Both hubby and myself couldnt eat it spent 60 bucks and threw it in the garbage .

Disgusting... Waste of money.. I order. Few different dishes. Ginger beef-- greasy battered pieces of something drenched in a sauce.. Tangerine chicken tasted like it was dipped in oil then in chili peppers. Cashew chicken-- no chicken all celery and carrots. Shanghai noodles-- I sure it was a couple days old and just reheated.. Awful just plain awful.

Great Chinese take out. Owners really know what service means. Ordered ginger beef and house special fried rice. What I didnt understand is the house special fried rice INCLUDES shrimp to which I am allergic. Thinking it was a mistake made by the restaurant, I went back to have the order remade. The owner came out and explained shrimp is automatically included but did not hesitate for a second to remake it for me at no charge. Now THAT is what the service industry is all about!!! Great meal! They were a fast delivery. Did not get the order correct . Did not even get my favorite chicken they must have forgotten ( sweet and sour was pork was good .) But dishes were full of nuts ordered nothing that had nuts lots of peanuts

Just about everything on the menu is too greasy. Nothing much to recommend: maybe the wonton soup because at least that s not greasy. For the stir-fried dishes like ginger beef, tangerine chicken, sweet and sour, etc. ask for sauce on the side if you want to cut back a little bit on the fat and (especially) sugar. Run out of the same kitchen and building is Chicken on the Run, a much better choice for quick take-out.

The food is usually very fresh and hot. My last order had one item that was not satisfactory the owner spoke to me and took care of it right away. I am very happy with them and will continue ordering from them.

I absolutely love the Chinese food from here, I think its the best in Victoria. Always fresh, hot and as expected. If an order is incorrect they are willing to fix it for you. Very good food very good people. Thank you for your hospitality! Will always reccomend to others!

What sort of Kung Pao chicken has celery (a LOT of celery), carrots, and water chestnuts (???).

The fried rice was burnt and quite plain, we ordered 2 dishes of the deep fried prawns and they tasted like fried chicken, it is also disappointing that they didn t add any dipping sauce. We were quite unsatisfied with our purchase.

This is the best Chinese in Victoria. Their Ginger fried beef is a must try. Food is fresh, and their establishment is clean and professional. Their fried chicken is also crispy but not greasy.

I used to order from Crown Palace a lot a couple of years ago, and mosty enjoyed it, so I felt confident that it would be tasty when I ordered it tonight. I was so disappointed with the food, Im not sure if they changed owners or what, but I was very let down. I will say that it came quickly, really quickly to my house, which made me suspicious off the hop. I mean it took 10 minutes to get to my house from the time I ordered it, so before I even dove in I thought it was likely not going to be very good. The almond breaded chicken was hard, over done, and some of the batter didnt even have chicken in it. The spring rolls had a funny taste, and the dry garlic pork was just sad. The pot stickers were passible, and the chowmein was okay, but certainly not the best I have had. I sure regret spending the $50. Anyway, maybe it was just a one off sort of night, but I wont be ordering from there again. Also the delivery driver, was less than friendly.

Ordered from here while working out of town recently. Ordered the Thai red curry chicken and veg with rice and crispy spring rolls. Pros: Tonnes of food for the price! Quality ingredients. The chicken was all nice cuts of white meat, veggies were very fresh, varied and plentiful. Sauce Not too spicy but really nice flavour. The spring rolls were huge! I had easily enough left over for next day s lunch and it was right around $20. Cons: no dipping sauce for spring rolls, weird. Delivery driver was less than friendly. Will try the fried chicken from their sister restaurant within the same location next time I am there as I hear they are good too.

Food quality: the chickens are nice to people who like it. The chinese food are westernized / white chinese food. Be aware of their wonton soup: it is good, but over the years I noticed that on warm days the chance of having flies (the small ones, not the big ones) in them are quite high (30-50%), so be very aware of this situation.

This was my favorite place, but after my delivery tonight, its no longer. Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Wor wonton soup had hardly any vegetables. Peanut noodles box had almost no sauce. Beef was chewy, and flavorless. Not happy, cost me $70.00, what a waste of money.

This is the best Chinese food in Victoria! The prices are great considering the portion sizes, and how they pack the food tight in the containers. Ive been going here for a few years now and Ive never had anything negative to say. The wait is good and the food is even better!

Food is good for both there Chinese and chicken on the run. Only take out tho and delivery.

I had the beef and broccoli and it gave me and my 10 lbs dog food poisoning. Not only did they not cover my 75$ vet bill, but they refused to give me a refund for any of the food I ordered, INCLUDING the dish that was contaminated. This is the way they treat a regular customer who ordered all the time from them. Never again. WORST ginger fried beef in town.

So lucky that the hotel i am staying at has utensils-they did not give me chop sticks with my order! Nor did they give plum sauce with my spring roll, which, along with all of my other food, was cold by the time it got here. Oh yeah, did mention that the food was cold? Know why? Because it was over half an hour late! Now not everything goes smoothly, and I can understand that. But when i called to ask where my order was (i had already been waiting an hour, as they told me thats how long it would take over the phone when i placed the order), the lady that answered seemed to be in a rush to end the phone call. No sorry sir or anything of the sort. Just itll be there any minute. 10 minutes later and i had half a mind to call back and cancel the order. You guys are running a pretty shady business, and it is a wonder why you provide delivery service at all!

The beef and broccoli was ok but everything else wasnt appetizing. The lemon chicken had way too much batter. The chop suey vegetables were overcooked.

Amazing food and always fresh. To me this is the best Chinese food in Victoria. The ginger beef is amazing and the palace chow main is excellent. I would highly recommend it for take out or delivery.

Worst Chinese food in Victoria, and far from the best crispy ginger beef in town. How can you claim to have the best ginger beef if you dont add any beef? Would be a good idea to add beef. Sweet and sour chicken balls, no clue what was wrong with them, but they had an odd sour yeasty taste that lingered in your mouth and was not appealing at all. Took 30 min to pay, after waiting an hour and a half for the delivery driver to show up. Will not be ordering from this place again, nor will I be recommending it to anyone. Wish there was an option for no star.

Best Chinese takeout in the area. Truly the citys best ginger fried beef. Amazing spicy firecracker chicken. Easy to park nearby making it a great spot for a quick takeout pickup.

Great food and a friendly family business.

I usually eat Chinese take out at least a month and Crown palace has consistently been the best Chinese food in town. Don Mee, Mings and other recommended restaurants have always been hit and miss but Crown palace is always fresh and delicious and never soggy. Keep up to great work!

i always get Chinese food here. the chicken balls are always done really well and never soggy. they give out decent portions, the chiken is really good, it didnt cut my mouth like the other review guy had said. I reccomend going here if your tired of other chinese resturaunts that do not make the quality of the food consistent every time you order.

My son and I had great expectations when we ordered the ginger beef and lemon chicken. What a disappointment when we got home, it turned out to be the worst ginger beef we had, more batter than meat, not crispy but chewy, M&Ms taste ten times better. Very disappointed

Good food, however be careful with their chicken plates. I ordered chicken Cheo mein. Not sure about spelling but regardless the chicken was past its expire date and had a weird smell.. The smell u get when u leave chicken in the fridge after its been expired. I got sick for about 2 days. Be careful.

I didnt think it was that great. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken it was a box full of chopped celery and bamboo shoots, very little flavour and chicken.i have also had better fried rice. I liked the beef with broccoli.

Haute cuisine? No. Good, honest, everyday Chinese food? You bet! For those days you just dont feel like cooking, this is a great answer. The chicken isnt bad, either.
