I ordered Singapore style noodles from the Skip the dishes. The food is not hot and noodles is not cooked I m very disappointed with this food and I am pregnant woman I can t eat raw foods.

Combo C was delicious and Gary is the best!

I just ordered from skip and honestly it was terrible. The deep fried garlic pork did not taste good at all. It was soo oily and looked like it had been deep fried in old oil. The chicken chow mien wasn t any better and for some reason there was 3 pieces of shrimp in it as well that I did not ask for. I had to stop eating it because I m allergic to shrimp. Also there was little pieces of old black food crumbs in my chicken fried rice. Overall everything tasted really bland. I probably will never order from here again.

Worst Chinese food I ve ever had bar none. Everything soggy, nothing crispy. Chowmein flavorless and had to add soy sauce to taste it. Lemon chicken managed to suck all the sweetness and lemon flavor out of it and left nothing but sour. Felt like I should ve sprinkled some sugar on just to finish making it for them. Small portions too

Fantastic food and portions for the price. Great for takeout, and makes excellent next day leftovers. The gluten-friendly combo and combo C are especially good. Cant get enough of their fried almond chicken!

Food was OK, I went cause of the reviews but Im assuming they were all delivery orders cause Im not impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Freaked me out big time when it was time to eat . 3 stars is very generous

We stopped in for a late lunch when my daughter had a craving for won ton soup. The reviews looked good so we took a chance on it. Im so glad we did! The kids split a large won ton soup, and I got a lunch combo platter to split between the three of us. The food was fresh, delicious, and there was so much of it that we even had a full container to take home. 100% would visit again.

It seems that after Covid eating out at Chinese restaurants in the Westshore has lost its appeal. As far as atmosphere goes Goodview has none, and the food is nothing special. Basically unless you have no way of getting Chinese food at any other restaurant I would say go here.

Ordered a vegetarian fried rice ensuring no fish sauce. Well... this is not fried rice. It was mushy, zero taste, and had egg! Zero description of egg in it on door dash! Not at all impressed to pay 25$ and it go in the garbage! Disgusting and will never order from here again.

For takeout, the food is great and staff is friendly. We buy there regularly and have never been disappointed. Seating area can be enhanced, but this is not really in use in the midst of pandemic. Definitely recommended if you like Hot&Sour soup, spring rolls and many of their excellent cuisine.

Worst chinese food I have ever had in my life. Absolutely utterly appalling food. Not only do you get really small portions but the taste is awful. Chow mein is very plain, almond chicken is dry and flavourless. Worst of all was the chicken balls which tasted sour. All for 50$. I would rather eat Chinese food from the grocery store then this garbage. Shame on whoever runs this joke of a restaurant.

Best war wonton I ve had. Everything is fresh, the broth was excellent and full of flavour, the wontons have the perfect texture, the mushrooms were cooked perfectly, the portion size was perfect for 2 of us (could probably even feed 3). The people working are very friendly and kind. And the tea is made perfectly.

Really good wonton soup! The sweet and sour pork was neither sweet nor sour Ive never had anything like it . The chow mein was average.

Its the only place Ive gotten Chinese food at for decades! Give it a try!!

Honestly everything was so delicious. We weren t sure if they actually did dine in because of the storage stuff but so so yummy! Best almond chicken we ve ever had but everything was perfect!

We went into order to stay, but there were some noisy loud customers already seated, so we changed to take out. They do not deliver, only use Skip the Dishes. The food was, well, mediocre.

Always delicious with reasonable prices and portions, and the best Wonton soup - it s one of our favourites along with the Wor Wonton soup, Prawns with Black Bean Sauce (no other place I ve tried can compete with their sauce), House Fried Rice, and Ginger Fried Beef. Have been coming here with my family since I was a kid, long before their relocation to Wale Rd. It s a family-run business and they are great people - love Gary! He always makes a point in coming out from the kitchen to check in on us when dining in, and noticed I hate sprouts so will always throw in a special little sprout-free chow mein for me!!

Ordered takeout and it was kinda bad, kinda good, more or less what you would expect in this style of Canadian Chinese food. Crispy ginger beef was good. The processed chicken in the chow mein isn t doing them any favours, but maybe it s more normal than I m aware of. Tastes fine but the presentation is alarming. I probably wouldn t order from them again but I don t necessarily think I would find better elsewhere.

Super slow.

Ordered the Combination C, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. It was hot, the pork was cooked perfectly, and the breaded chicken was suuuper crispy. I loved it all, and the portions were huge for the price! Will and would come back again. 5/5.

The Wonton soup is sooo yummy. I ordered a few dishes, it was all really good, fresh and hot, as well as big portions. Definitely going to order again!

Worst Chinese food ever. The ginger fried beef and sweet and sour pork did not even resemble either dishes. Soggy. Sweet and sour sauce had zero taste. The chow mein tasted like Mr. Noodles. Pot stickers werent bad, I imagine they are frozen from a distributor. Threw the food out, I couldnt eat it. Cannot believe the restaurant can remain open serving food like this.

By far the worst Chinese Ive had in (greater) Victoria. Our beef curry was about 90% celery, with about 5 pieces of beef. The fried rice was incredibly poor (mall Chinese food quality). I cant believe people have eaten the equivalent of the food we had delivered and given good ratings.

DoorDash delivered 3 dishes. Ginger beef was not close to crispy. Honestly, it was horrible. Beef and broccoli was fresh, crips and hot. However, zero flavour. And I do mean zero. Deep-fried garlic ribs were decent. All in all, I would never order from here again.

Good food quick service

I know that it s NYE and I m sure it s a busy night for restaurants, however this was a disappointing experience to say the least. I called at 4:45 to order food for delivery. I was told that it would be an hour and a half for delivery which was fine. 7pm called to inquire about the food and was told it was on its way. At 7:40 went to the restaurant to pick it up and they hadn t even made it... sigh (They did give us a 20% discount) Food served at 8:30pm and it was mediocre at best. (And that s being generous) The food was so bland and greasy, the egg rolls were burnt, and we paid extra for a upgrade and never even received it. Honestly, this was our first time (and last) ordering from here to try something different and are definitely regretting it.

Good small restaurant......go there again

I have been getting food from here for years but last experience not good. I realize we ordered take out on New Years Day but only 1 of the 8 dishes we ordered was tasty. The chow mein was watery, ginger beef was too tough to chew, fried rice was dry . I could go on and on but food should not be sent out like that. Last take out for me

I hit this place up on my way home from work when Im too lazy to cook dinner. Take out the special and I have leftovers for lunch the next day. Not the best Chinese food in Victoria but pretty good and a very good bang for the buck

Placed an order for delivery... Do NOT use Skip the Dishes or Door Dash! Just order straight from Goodview, they deliver. No photos this time but next time. Food was hot, crispy and exactly what I would expect from a Chinese restaurant.

Ive been ordering from Goodview for a few years. They have delicious main dishes and are always super friendly. Their crispy salt and pepper squid is really good and very different from other restaurants. The vegetables are always fresh, and they will deliver outside of Skip or other delivery apps!

Very good Chinese restaurant! We came here with family, sat down immediately and enjoyed 4 main dishes and egg rolls. The meal was very tasty, fresh, and fast. We had enough to eat for 4 people and bring a bit back for a bite later. Great restaurant - highly recommend anyone in the area to come and check out Goodview Family Restaurant

There was no option for zero stars so I had to select 1 star. Soup was bland. House rice had almost nothing in it and tasted just like minute rice. Absolutely disgusting. Don t waste your money here.

Ordered through the local delivery service. Food was at my door step piping hot and delish in under 20 minutes. Love love love their soups!

Actually enjoyed the food I havent eaten here in a long time but my order was quick and fresh and reasonably priced.

We really wanted some Chinese food but it was not good. The breaded shrimp were almost all breading and the shrimp themselves appeared to have been cut shorter so you go a long tail fin and a short skinny shrimp that appeared to have had the main part of the shrimp meat cut off. This may explain why our shrimp egg foo yong had tiny 1/2 inch pieces of shrimp. This dish was very glutinous as if it was mixed with congee. I d encourage the owners to take the time to improve the quality of their food.

I ordered the Ginger and Onion Chicken and Singapore style Chow Fun for takeout. It was delicious, geat value, easy ordering and pickup. I will definately be ordering from more often.

Decent Chinese food at reasonable prices

Stopped by, didnt really expect much, and not much is exactly what I got. The server was having his own lunch at one of the tables, getting up to take orders and then sitting back down. Awkward. The place needs better ventilation. The air is thick with years of accumulated food smells.

Have been a Goodview customer since they were up at Colwood corners, same family run business that offers generous portions for a fair price. Recommendations include Combo C (for one, and lunch the next day) Ginger Fried Chicken, House Fried Rice, Snow Peas & Prawns. If youre feeling cold on a winters day then the Wor Wonton Soup is what you need.

Great food. Staff are always welcoming and efficient. Prices are good for the quantity and quality. Go there or order out regularly. Small hole in the wall, but worth going.

INCREDIBLE. The food was amazing and the restaurant is clean, although a bit drafty. Service was ok- Not sure if they speak English which is totally fine, thats not a blocker. They didnt come by our table after serving but there wasnt a need for them to come over to check on us anyway. The food though: Awesome! Legit Chinese food! None of that oversalted soggy American Version food. Really a great experience!

Friendly and welcoming service. The food comes quick and is very good. My family and I order in and get deliverys all the time. I wish they did deliverys a bit earlier in the day. I definitely recommend trying it, though its a little hard to find.

Good fresh vegetables washroom was dirty

Took half an hour to get a bowl of watery wonton with small variety of vegetables. Never got the coffee I asked for. Very poor service. Wont be back.

Good portion size, price is fair, however I have never had more bland food. Their food is entirely devoid of flavour. I had lemon chicken and both the chicken and the sauce tasted like nothing was there. Save yourself the effort and go somewhere else that values flavour

Sorry, but the food was just not very good. The ginger beef was soggy and gooey, the black bean sauce had an odd chemical taste, the chop suey sauce was basically flavorless, and the won ton soup was bland. The food wasnt horrible, but I wont be returning.

Best chowmein in town only complaint is that the quality of pork used in the sweet and sour is very low, lots of fat and Grissel and just tastes like scraps. Please dont lower your quality!

The owners are very friendly. I love that there is no delivery fee. However, I ordered the Combination C dinner and the majority of it was chow mein noodles. It had 2 pieces of lemon chicken and one was mostly batter and 5 pieces of sweet and sour pork and the beef broccoli was mostly broccoli--3 pieces of beef. Disappointing.

Went for dinner for two. Empty restauraunt, quick service, good food. overall good experience. Left with a take home container only to return home and findhardly any of the leftover food in the box! A foolish mistake will not return. A $40 dinner for two and a ruined late night snack does not leave a good impression.
