At the very moment you open the menu, your journey of Yunnan has begun with Little Yunnan: a family-owned restaurant by Yunnanese. We proudly present our most famous and traditional food “Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle” to you. This special dish originated from a moving love story dated 500 years ago. It has travelled half of the world, and now, it is right here in front of you. “Never hesitate to try new things” is our recommendation.
We arrived near closing, but we were graciously seated and served promptly. We tried the Traditional and the Beef Yunnan Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle dish. It was savoury and delicious, and we very much enjoyed adding all the ingredients to the broth. A fun and filling experience 😊
Got a lot at just a low price! It tastes Authentic Chinese Cuisine and for sure this will be our go-to. Definitely a good deal.
The atmosphere is fantastic! The Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle Soup is a standout, served with a rich flavourful broth that's both hearty and satisfying. Plus, the friendly waitress takes the time to explain the menu, enhancing the overall dining experience. A truly memorable visit!
Comfortable little Chinese restaurant that specializes in dumplings and noodles. Good tasting and authentic boiled and fried dumplings.
My dad and I went for lunch on a Friday in July 2024, on our way to the airport. It was right when they opened for the day, so service was quick. Although we are Chinese and eat a lot of Chinese food, we've never had Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle Soup! Well it hit the spot in flavor and quantity and quality! My dad got the Pork CBRNS, and I got the vegetarian CBRNS. I love how the restaurant has visual aids/ explanations - on the table, there are instructions on how to eat the Crossing Bridge Soup; on the wall, you can read the story behind it! The signs and servers use English and Chinese (Mandarin. maybe other dialects too?) They have other non-soup selections too. We also ordered a beef brisket, which is small, like a tapas size; a nice complement to our soups or to other side dishes. Definitely recommend!
The food is great! But the service is slow and poor. The waiters were just sitting in a group sipping their drink. I’ve to call out to order food.
Love the traditional Yunnan noodles. However the dessert was not up to expectation. And also the restaurant close at 7:30 which is way too early.
This was my second time dining out at this place and it didn’t disappoint me! I went on a two days trip in Victoria and thinking about heading to the Chinatown to have noodles, then I thought about Little Yunnan :) Please go visit this restaurant when you are around Chinatown in Victoria! Their food is always amazing but sometimes when it gets busy, the time waiting for the dish to come out might take a bit longer than usual. That’s why overall I can only grade a 4/5.
very good taste!
My family and I had our late lunch here and it is surprisingly really amazing The crossing the bridge rice noodle is tasty and nostalgic. Would definitely recommend
Great chinese food, friendly staff soup taste amazing, the meat is not too soft but perfect for my liking. 9.5/10 perfect for people that are seeking true chinese oriental food, very culturally inclined Food : 5/5
Best Yunnan food, and rice noodle.
Amazing dumplings!!! Great texture with a crisp bottom
Kind, quick service and wholesome, delicious food. They made it very simple for a first timer to understand how to enjoy their best dish. I left feeling warm and full.
Tasty, fast service, fun story about crossing the bridge noodles but wontons were the winner!
Delicious authentic Yunan cuisine in Chinatown. Friendly service
come here for late lunch, perfect!
Soooo good their noodle soups send me to heaven everytime
Very yummy food, good flavours, great service and variety.
Pork in sauce was fatty with gristle. Minimal flavor. Fried dumplings not very flavourful. Same for won ton soup; broth bland and won tons mediocre flavour. Forgot our tea order. Probably the worst Chinese food we have had.
As a Kunming native, I had good bean curd rice noodles Of course it can t compare to Kunming, but it s the best braised rice noodles I ve had in California and the west coast of Canada. You can come when you have rice noodles
Very nice service, friendly, fast and clean. Foods are generally good, especially the ham moon cake. Food
Unbelievable! We are from Saskatchewan Canada. My mouth was Exploding with flavor. If you come to Chinatown Victoria, This is a MUST try , I had the bbq brisket mmmmm !
Worst service ever Dont come as they do not know how to serve people Food
Food was good, but the server was terrible They do not know how to talk to customers very rude. I regretted to even come to this restaurant The service was very disappointing Food : 3/5 |
We love the food here! Will come again!
Great authentic food - the Restaurant Close at 8.00p.m.
It wasnt the best experience unfortunately. The food was good, it was an interesting experience, but the service was not great. Our orders were confused, and one person dining with us never got their meal, and there seemed to be some strange finger pointing. They did try to make it right by giving us a discount. We were looking forward to trying a new place but there is a lot of great food in this city with amazing service, so we probably wont be back.
Menu was limited and food was bland. There was 10 of us for lunch and nobody enjoyed their meal. We had 2 vegetarians with us who took a long time studying the menu and dish descriptions before ordering. They decided on a tofu dish, no meat in the description. When ordering my husband asked if it was suitable for vegetarians, the waitress agreed. When food arrived my husband started to eat it, then discovered there was minced pork in it. When we told the waitress she asked if kitchen could take off the meat!!! We said no asking for an alternative meal. No replacement meal was offered. When we got the bill the 2 meals had been added. When we asked for them to be removed, we were told it was our fault as we ordered them. Most disappointing meal in our 3wk trip from Toronto to Vancouver Island.
Excellent yunnan food...highly recommended
Little Yunnan Restaurant Located at 546 Fisgard St, Victoria, signature dishes: Crossing the Bridge noodle series. The food was tasty, generous amount. Service was slow, there was only one waitress. Turn over was fast since most people ordered noodles. We were there at lunch, may be different at dinner. Parking: Paid parking in parking garage and parking lots nearby Kid-friendliness: High chairs available Wheelchair accessibility: My in-laws all using wheelchairs. Can either sit on their own wheelchairs, or fold them up and store on the side.
Amazing server named Janet, very friendly and informative. Tasty food and lovely restaurant
It reminds me of my Yunnan trip. The dishes that put ingredients and noodles in the soup were good, and I especially liked the fried dumplings. I also liked that the rice came with beef. The scent is not that strong, so you can go with peace of mind.
Just everything average, nothing special. The same meal taste can be cooked at home. Not bad, not 5-star feedback
A shop You can take a look at it After reading it, you can decide whether you want to go in or not. The food is really good. My friend ordered the noodles and they were completely tasteless. I kept adding chili, vinegar and soy sauce to get the flavor. It felt like boiled noodles... I ordered a braised noodles and I was looking forward to taking a photo, but the store s sauces looked like a bunch of poop. Everyone told me not to take pictures... The service was so bad and only 1/3 cup of water was given. Later, we took the initiative to ask for water, which was very annoying. They are willing to bring our meals and add things. We have already folded them and put them next to them. They don t accept them. We are asked to take them to them ourselves. It s weird. Is the service like this? When customers come in, they are always at the counter... I don t know what they are doing. I am the same. The service industry isnt as easy as they are. I feel like I could apply to be a salary thief. The thing that makes us most unhappy is that there is no service at all. We don t pay service fees. We are very unhappy and told us that Canada will pay... We replied and said that we will, but it depends on your service. Whether we pay or not depends on the guest... Waiter Jinran replied: I gave you water. Wow Wow Wow , this tells me not to drink water randomly next time. What a terrible store! I don t know how the rating came about. I m so good at it. It s got 4 stars. I don t usually write reviews. I m really unhappy so I wrote this especially for them. I hope people who see it will suggest you just change to another restaurant, otherwise it may be very bad. Im not happy...the service is so bad and Im so thick-skinned. No wonder I saw several groups of foreign tourists and left immediately after just one look.
Wonderful, food cooked similar to Hot Pot, although other options are available. Very welcoming to non-Chinese patrons! Try it out. Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian option for Crossing the Bridge Soup with either mushroom broth (true vegetarian option) or chicken broth for meat eaters.
The environment is good, the waiters are very nice, and the fried rice noodles with soybean paste are delicious.
Went to eat with friends The waitress was super sweet. They made the cloud leg mooncakes themselves. I really recommend them. I will order the flower cakes next time The rice noodles with mixed sauce are also good
Delicious food, especially the noodles!
First time going to Victoria Canada and I was nothing less than impressed. My food was very good and I would 10/10 recommend. I would definitely come back here again.
Get crossing over the bridge meals. You cook the food in the hot broth they bring you.
I had C1 Zajiang rice noodles with soup, and I think it would suit Korean tastes. The noodles are a bit slippery and spreadable, but the soup is delicious. It says spicy, but its a bit salty rather than spicy.
Horrible food, horrible service, not good at all. Dont bother yourself coming to eat here.
No fuss. Simple, fresh, tasty food with great, efficient service. One of our faves. Highly recommended their speciality Crossing the Bridge Noodle Soup.
Worst experience I have ever had!! Good wasn t great either! Did wonder if all these hood reviews had the same menu. We were only tourists. We had 4 vegetarians in a large party of 11. There wasn t much for veggies but we did find 2 dishes but when they arrived they had meat on them! They offered to scrape it off We were not offered anything else as replacement and charged for the two dishes that couldn t be eaten. When we asked for it to be removed from the bill they said you ordered it . We did get it taken off eventually but there was no apologies. None of the remaining enjoyed their meal the speciality across the bridge was the most tasteless thing I have tasted and I ve travelled all over China. Vegetarian options: Don t go there!!!
So flavourful, so good
Xiao Yunnan Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles, with a strong Yunnan atmosphere, fresh ingredients and authentic rice noodles
Ordered beef Yunnan rice noodles, 4 cents, plus 2 braised eggs. The waiter is very gentle. Because I brought my children, the little brother was very careful to help and told the children not to touch the soup bowl because it was very hot. The portion is enough, and my husband, who is a big eater, also added rice noodles. The soup is delicious and doesnt have a strong MSG taste. Like, like, it is recommended to add a braised egg, cut it and throw it into the soup, it is delicious
Good food as advertised! Fast and courteous service! Definitely will eat here again!
Great noodle soup. I loved putting everything in the broth and watching it cook. It wouldve been fun with my kids. If I return Ill take them!
To be honest, its really average. Mainly because it doesnt taste good. The soup has no taste at all. You have to adjust it yourself with the condiments on the table. The rice noodles broke without clipping. The most important thing is to buy 3 pieces of tofu skin for 3 dollars . 666 is simply a place that only preys on tourists and foreigners. But I have to mention that the service attitude of the service staff is very good. Hope there are improvements.
Good atmosphere and food. The crossing the bridge noodles were very tasty and had a large portion size. The mooncakes are also very tasty. This is a must visit spot in Victoria.
Everyone in the restaurant was really quiet and the music was calming. The food came out so quickly and was delicious. Good service.
Terrible. I ordered A2. Soup very oily and noodles have no flavor. Meat tastes weird. Very sad experience.
Amazing service and food!! I ve been here many times and always it s very good everything.
Food is quite oily. Service was good! Food : 2/5
It might look ordinary inside but dont let that fool you. The food here is delicious and well worth trying. I tried the beef noodle as well as the dried beef and spicy vegetables. All were excellent. Service was dry and unfriendly, but Id come back for the food.
Overrated. I ve tried another one located in Downtown Vancouver, West End, which is better.
This place is just not good. Everything tasted like oily salt. No flavor, poor texture. Just bad, sorry.
a pretty meh experience, the waiters were ignorant. one of them were wearing airpods and we can to call out to order. we had to wait 5 whole minutes until a waitress could take us to a table. overall, terrible service.
Delicious food, perfect to warm us up on the cold rainy day when we visited! The stewed beef in the rice noodle soup was very tender, and the broth was very flavourful. Would go again 100%.
Excellent food. Authentic. Great place for lunch. You don t go for the ambience.
This place was so good, that I visited it thrice during my holiday in Victoria! Located in Victoria s little Chinatown, it serves delicious food prepared & cooked by the family. I particularly liked the handmade wan tun soup, and their signature Crossing the Bridge choices, which were new to me. The ingredients are brought to your table raw, and you cook them yourself in a large bowl of very hot water - a bit of theatre, but a very enjoyable experience, and the end result delicious!
Handmade wonton soup dont forget the brined ham
Traditional Yunnan noodles were great! My partner appreciates the vegetarian mushroom broth option. Vegetarian options: Mushroom broth instead of chicken, there was a vegetarian option for crossing the bridge noodle toppings
this restaurant was a little disappointing. the service was very slow but the food came out faster otherwise i would rrturn
Traditional rice noodles and braised rice noodles are the best
I placed a to-go order last night, opting for the sauced pork ribs combo along with a small serving of simmered pork to sample both dishes. I made sure to communicate my order clearly to the waitress. However, upon arriving home, I was disappointed to find that I received two portions of the sauced pork ribs instead of the variety I had requested.
The broth was not served in stone bowl like elsewhere so it was not hot enough for authentic yunnan noodles. The window display was fun to watch.
We enjoyed trying yunnan food for the first time. The food was very tasty. Don t miss the sesame ball dessert - so good!
I m a Chinese foodie. This is a fair meal that will make you feel comfortable. Add some chilli oil to your soup.
Amazing soup!!!
10/10 would come again, and theres free wifi :D
Really peaceful place to have dinner and talk
Absolutely a disaster! Ordered take out and happily drove back home. When I got off the car, the sauce of the dish spilled everywhere! On my bag, car seat, all over the place. They definitely need a better takeout box when the dish has sauces!!!
I appreciate the way they are presenting a type of regional cuisine, but I found the soup a little bland. Just a few drops of the hot chili sauce on the table helps quite a bit. Don t overdo it. The pan fried dumplings were the best, really good!
Thoroughly enjoyed the rice noodles and the experience. The soup was flavorful. The noodles are soft but chewy. Overall authentic tasting rice noodle soup.
Super polite and welcoming staff. The food was incredible. It was my first time having some of the dishes. Dietary restrictions: My daughter has gluten issues so the rice noodles were perfect.
The servers were friendly and helpful. Their signature dish was perfect on a chilly windy day. It s a little gem. The dumplings being brought to another table looked so appetizing but we were simply too full to order them.
This place is an absolute must when in Victoria. I was skeptical as it doesn t look like much from the outside but the food is absolutely delicious (wonton soup and the dumplings along with the cured beef were my personal favourites) and the general vibe of the restaurant is just so relaxing. Me and my brother came here twice over our two day vacation and loved it both times.
The take-away wonton was nothing like the picture. Bland slop. They must have friends and family writing reviews. Would never go back. Take a look at my pic vs. Theirs online. This is like a frozen take-away re-heated in the microwave.
Quantity is too less for the price.
Their tray of meat has cabbage underneath to give a false impression of protein portions .
Little Yunnan is such a special spot! I have eaten here many, many times and consider it my downtown go-to. The soup noodles and dry noodles are always so warming and perfectly seasoned and I love the chicken leg, pig ears, spicy pickled veg, kelp salad and rice balls as well. Service is always polite and friendly. Eat here!
Food is amazing and deserves a 5 star. What stood out even more was the exception service! We accidentally left behind a Canada goose hat which is married-related. The staff not only found it but kept it for us safe. We are truly grateful for their kindness
We headed directly to this place after we left the ferry, and the male server refused to let us enseated. There were empty seats but he claimed it s only saved for groups with more diners. So disappointed!!!
Undoubtedly, the best food I ve had in quite a while. Highly recommend! I will be thinking about the food long after I return back to Ontario! Food : 5/5
More than four years later, it still smells the same! ! The soup is so delicious! It is said that it took eight hours to cook~~ That ham is from Yunnan, nothing to say! Bamboo fungus is so fresh! The sea cucumber was so mushy~~ I actually had chicken fungus in the rice noodles. I was so excited I packed a box and took it home haha. It was eliminated quickly! The soup was almost completely dry and I couldn t stop drinking it! ! ! Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles has always been my obsession. Unfortunately, no rice noodles in Vancouver satisfy me, so I have to go back to the island to eat them! Thank you, Little Yunnan, for seriously restoring the taste of Yunnan. Great
Delicious authentic food and great service!
Really special location in the city. Crossing the Bridge noodle is fun and delicious, and side dishes are all incredible. The fried mushroom dish and seaweed salad were favourites. Vegetarian options: Such a wide variety of dishes with fungi!
The rice noodles are excellent, classic Yunnan dishes that are very authentic.
Delicious food and friendly helpful staff.
The flavour was so rich, the staff was very courteous and thoroughly explained the menu options and eating instructions. The Crossing The Bridge noodles are to die for, very filling!
The soft tofu rice noodles. OUT OF THIS WORLD. I loved the spicy chili beef, definitely something to get if youre in the mood for a face numbing good time. I came here two nights in a row, and I have no regrets!
Great local restaurant for authentic Yunnan food.
What a gem! We recently visited and enjoyed the soft tofu rice noodles and pork rib soup. Both were delicious and packed with flavor, but the soft tofu rice noodles were definitely the favorite. We really enjoyed having authentic dishes at a reasonable price. The service is friendly and the food came out quick.
We reordered several same courses because the food is irresistibly yummy!
Fabulous authentic ethnic food. The server was working alone and too busy but did a great job in keeping up with what the customers were asking.
Good food. It is Special food of China style.
Very authentic noodle soup. The quality is consistently high, and services already friendly. My #1 spot for Chinese cuisine in this town
Lovely food. Only served what they do well.
Delicious!!
I grew up in Yunnan Kunming. The food here are really authentic and brings me back to my hometown!
Very poor service attitude and bad environment. The soup base is very salty
Give a thumbs up to my friend, the ham is delicious
Great place for a spot of lunch - we had the crossing the bridge noodles. Very tasty!
This place is so delicious. Everything is very flavourful and authentic. Highly recommend.
ordered crossing the bridge noodle soup 10/10 would recommend
I will give a solid two star, one for awesome food and one for awesome service
I feel so terrible that I can t rate negative feedback. One star is overrated for this terrible and unprofessional service.
Well, hard to start this comment. Still remember this restaurant was one of the best ones in Victoria 2 years ago. Guessed only god knows what the h**k happened to this place. I was here for dinner tonight, literally no service and no respect, and the quality of the food was quite unmentionable. The waitress was really impatient and insincere, she didn t even serve us a bottle of water lol. So pathetic, won t visit this place ever and won t recommend any of my friends visiting.
Perfect food, very special restaurant. I like the bridge rice noodles there. The waiters are very friendly. I like it there. I will go there next time.
their crossing bridge is pretty good, quite an authentic taste. The side dishes are great as well, I especially enjoy their spicy ones, also decent price.
Great service, great food. Rice noodles are very special. Strongly recommend crossing the bridge rice noodles and will come again!
I was dining in there yesterday. The servers are super nice and friendly. They served the food very quickly although the restaurant was full of customers. I was planning to order more than three dishes, but the server girl advised me that the foods were large potions I might be unable to finish. I will highly recommend the tranditional rice noodle, which is my favourite. My friend and I had an excellent experience there, except there was a table of 4 customers. Those guys were rude to the servers. They look like losers who want to bring trouble to others to give themselves a sense of accomplishment. Hopefully, I won t meet them here again.
Very run down and dingy. Food tasted good but I do think it made me sick later.
First meal in Victoria! The rice noodles here are delicious, the boss is kind-hearted, and the service is excellent.
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Victoria. From the first time I went there two years ago to now, the ingredients in Little Yunnan have always been fresh, and the boss is also very nice! Especially the soup they use to make rice noodles is so delicious!
Probably most come here for soup, but we didnt feel like soup so we tried the rice dishes. They were great, very soft stewed beef.
Since 2018, I will definitely eat at this restaurant every time I come to Victoria
A rare find of ( crossing-the-bridge noodles ) served in the traditional way! Guess it s part of the fun to put small plates of a variety of meat and veggies into the boiling chicken broth in a sensible order and let the final cooking be done right in front of you. The rich broth with fresh ingredients and smooth rice noodles couldn t be more satisfying and heart warming. The tofu and kelp salad side dishes were tasty as well.
Excellent food. Great service. Very friendly staff.
Delicious
Not a fan. Fish ball soup, wonton soup, and dumplings were all quite bland. markings were not consistent with spiciness level of the dishes. And guests are expected to debone their own soup. Service was mediocre in that it was slow, but nothing got mixed up.
This was a great restaurant for noodles and wonton soups. Everything tasted fresh made and authentic!
The signature cross-bridge rice noodles are really delicious!
Friendly staff and delicious food, definitely a must visit place. The Traditional Crossing the Bridge and the boiled dumplings are excellent and the dessert rice balls are delightful. Everything is fresh and full of flavor.
I ate with my friends and ordered the beef brisket rice noodles, which was delicious.
We go to this little joint after our monthly sessions at ritual Nordic spa up the street. Delicious broth, noodles, and toppings. The side dishes are also amazing!! Beware the pickled veggies and beef in chili sauce pack a punch in terms of spice. Kelp and ham for the lightweights like me!
The food is really good
The food was pretty good. But there was a strong urine smell all over the place Please do deep clean or change your carpet
Nice restaurant located in Victoria Chinatown near the Fan Tan Alley. Their feature is cross bright noodle soup from Yunnan. To be honest not the worst but not the best either. Feels like the soup base add a lot MSG because very savoury. The portion is not big each ingredient like only one or two bites. Noodle doesn t feel fresh it s pre-cooked. If just for simple dinner that s okay but don t expect too much fancy.
The menus felt really worn out, selection seemed limited but I suppose it could be considered more... Simple. Items we ordered ranged from seafood crossing the bridge, vegetarian crossing the bridge, cured beef, dumpling soup, and spicy wontons. The experience of the Bridge Crossing items was fascinating. The cured beef was enjoyable but only in a shareable small portion. Carried a nice delayed spicy fire in my mouth. Dumpling soup wasnt anything grand and a bit underwhelming. Spicy wonton was just the same dumplings but in a straightforward spicy oil. I probably wouldve been happier with one of the Bridge Crossing items if I had to recommend anything from the menu. In the first half there was attentive service from both employees on the floor. The young masculine individual was a bit distracted and required notice from the feminine employee (who looked like they were on break) before he noticed us seeking to pay for our meal. I would not come here again by choice.
ONE OF THE BEST NOODLES I VE HAD IN MY LIFE! Not only it was a great experience of serving ourselves the noodle mix, the taste is incredible. The waitress is also very nice, very fast service. Their pork ribs is also a must try, and their pork belly is also good. Definitely coming back when visiting victoria & its chinatown.
ordered 6 dishes, none of them was good. Dont even mention the service. waited for 20mins for a cup of water
Excellent food, everything tastes homemade. Very friendly service.
Food was great! Wonton needs a bit more favour. Soup was very hot for cross bridge noodle but after adding the ingredients, it becomes warm. Overall, it is very good!
LOVE the flavor of the soup!!! Other ingredients are also fresh & tasty, will come again for when in town.
Excellent representation of the Yunnan idiom. Great small plates and the big soup experience is fun. Prices fair. Service good. Enjoy.
The gyoza was the best!!
Delicious and authentic
The soup and noodles were very nice :) the staff helped us take care of our luggage as well! Very nice lunch spot
The soup broth was delicious and there was alot of it. It fed me for two meals. I will definitely go back
Very good soup!
The beef Yunnan rice noodles are good, the soup tastes salty and light, the side dishes are exquisite, the facade windows and wall paintings are very Yunnan characteristics, and the overall feeling is warm! Good service
I can only say one thing, you MUST try this restaurant!!
Delicious! We had never had Yunnan food before and it was an excellent experience. We had the Seafood and Fungus Crossing the Bridge Noodles, the cold Chili Chicken, and the Spicy Wontons. All of them were amazing! Since the meal was so good we couldnt resist getting dessert. I dont remember the exact name of it but it was a sweet sticky rice with fruit in it. Also delicious. They also had helpful information at the table for people that hadnt eaten Yunnan cuisine before describing some of the stand-out must-try dishes. That was super helpful and all of the recommended dishes were outstanding. Were already talking about going back again tomorrow before we leave town.
The spicy food is a very authentic taste
Their mooncake was awesome.
Very tasty and authentic food, served by friendly staff. Strongly recommended, my favourite dish is C5.
Wonton soup was excellent. Great service I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
A terrific find to end our day exploring downtown Victoria. It was our first experience with Yunnan cuisine in general, and crossing the bridge noodles in particular, and we really enjoyed it. The stewed soy sauce noodles were also delicious, with a great depth and complexity of flavor and just enough heat. Our server was very friendly and helpful in steering us to the best choices. Great prices too!
Quaint little restaurant. Had to wait is while to be seated as we were the only ones waiting. Service was not the quickest but most likely cause it was closing soon. But the food was worth it. Very savory and flavorful. Menu said it was shrimp but tasted more like chicken. Great little place to try out.
The noodle is so delicious, and service is wonderful as well
Food tastes alright. The restaurant might need a deep cleaning or an update. The staff could be more welcoming.
I love the dumpling is so crunchy and the welcoming is nice!
Good little Chinese restaurant, not expensive.
Service is alright; taste is not ok to a real Chinese; 3 star writing is the maximum I can give. I seriously believe the 4.5 star is over-rated
It was my first time trying the bridge noodles. It was quite interesting. The rice noodles were a perfect texture. The hot broth could have been seasoned more. But all in all a good experience.
Food is fresh and tasty but they are seriously understaffed, with only one person doing intake and the other carrying out dishes. I feel sorry for the two staff there as theyre clearly being overworked. I hope they will hire more help so they dont make people feel hurried. A restaurant should have a relaxing atmosphere after all. Hurrying gives people bad digestions and could strike people as being rude.
The food was unique and flavorful. The best way I can think to explain it is build-your-own pho. You get a bowl of hot broth and a bunch of ingredients and you drop the ingredients in the bowl, stir it, and enjoy. We also had dumplings which were very tasty.
Friendly service. Definitely recommend the Crossing the Bridge personal broth hotpot!
It was a great experience
Nice little tasty restaurant
Went to eat at 3pm, it tasted good!
The taste is authentic and the service can be better.
I dont want to say it was bad, but it definitely was not my style of Chinese food, and Ive eaten a lot of Chinese food in China and elsewhere. Overall disappointed in what I was looking for . Will also say that the seaweed salad was delicious, and the servers were contcertious.
Only restaurant that will tell us to order less. Best dinner so far in Victoria.
Nice food and staff were helpful in recommending what to eat.
We love the food at this restaurant, especially the pickled vegetables. They are not for the faint hearted they are really, really spicy. Another dish we cannot live without is the spicy dried beef. Last night we tried the pan fried dumplings which were also delicious. We are working our way through the menu and have not been disappointed yet. The chef is amazing we were seated after a party of ten, and yet our dishes came within a few minutes, hot, fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who enjoy authentic, spicy Chinese food, and great service.
I miss this place a lot as someone living in Vancouver. I come here every visit. This place is very understaffed, so you have to be very patient.
They closed without notice during their regular business hours at 3pm(September 3rd). I called the restaurant and they said they were run out of food and will reopen later today. It seems not a persuasive reason. More likely, they need a rest or short of staffs cause I saw deliveryman got the food. So be honest or reschedule new business hours. Re: First, keep having cutomers coming is not the reason to close the restaurant. You can set up a waiting list to arrange the table and time. Second, bridge rice noodle and wonton soup is not the only dishes on the menu. So Its not a reason to close the restsurant as well. You can let the cutomers know and give them the choice to stay or leave. Simply close the restaurant is not an excuse or solution to bad management and short of hands. If you really need more time to run the restaurant, please change the business hours on google accordingly and permanently.
Went there with my family. A nice friendly neighborhood restaurant. The food was interesting and offered a simple taste. A great place to take your family
their signature dish is excellent, worth to go there and try.
Came to Chinatown while visiting Victoria and wanted dim sum and stumbled upon this place after reading reviews. Honestly the restaurant is a cute vibe, but the staff are pretty rude. When I asked my server what they recommended, she said just look at the menu .. anyways ordered dim sum only and it did not taste good. For one thing, they were a little cold and two it had the weirdest fishiest taste. Anyways, it s a whatever place, not a fan of the staff.
Parking: Food
Family run. Felt homely. The specialty dish was fabulous. Highly recommend.
I lucked out the first time i ordered from here. We were staying close by and it didn t let us down. Everything we ordered was fantastic and now whenever I m in town I order from them. The simmered pork combo was fantastic
Order the traditional noodle soup. The way it s cooked has a love story behind it. Pretty interesting. The chicken broth in the noodle soup is some of the best I ve tasted.
My girlfriend s mother said: Great food! I chose Crossing the Bridge rice noodles, a specialty of Yunnan province; it was delicious! Then had rice balls which were melt-in-your-mouth perfect. Highly recommend this traditional restaurant. Recommended dishes
Overall everything was good, I was just disappointed with the wontons.
Orderedubereats delivery and both dishes were fresh and tasty. Only issue was the lack of utensils. Will gladly reoder from this place once I am visit Victoria again!
Very tasty and flavorful beef broth
So authentic! Delightful server. Interesting way to eat: Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodle. Delicious!! Exceptional value! Dietary restrictions: Both my wife and I are gluten intolerant, and there were plenty of options.
I went to the bathroom and saw the chief leaving without washing his hands. Nasty!
Smelled of urine inside and out
I absolutely adore Little Yunnan! We discovered Crossing The Bridge Noodle soup while traveling in China and were so happy to have one here. Perfect on a cold rainy day! The A1 Traditional is our go to. We love the little side dishes as well, we always get the pickled veggies and dry cured beef. The dumplings are also a good decision. Just delicious all around!
After having afternoon tea at Empress, it was already getting late. I couldn t stand the overwhelming sweetness in my stomach, so I was ready to find a delicious soup place. I happened to see this little Yunnan restaurant in China Town. Yunnan Crossing the Bridge Rice Noodles is famous. The soup is quite delicious. Although it is not as golden as in China and does not use a stone pot, the quail eggs and beef slices can be cooked well. The rice noodles are also very soft. The beef tendons in the side dishes are soft and delicious. The soup is a little salty Their small plates are quite considerate. You can order more for each portion. This time I ordered Bobo Chicken. It is not spicy and slightly salty. The red oil is very fragrant. The pepper flavor is strong but the entrance is mild. Overall good, highly recommended
The food and service were great! We enjoyed the crossing the bridge noodles and soy sauce rice noodles, and fried fungi.
It was our first time trying Yunnan noodles and we loved it! The broth was so flavorful, piping hot, and just delicious with all the yummy toppings and the slippery rice noodles. We also got a couple of side dishes which were delicious and clearly made with care - pig ears were the most cleanly cut and nicely presented I ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant. So good, and very comforting! Thanks for the great meal and experience
Good place for whole sale products
So good
Worst experience, the waitress literally scolded me when serving the food, I asked if it s possible to bring the food to our table while she placed on the other one, she scolded me to wait and learn how to eat. After our meal, while I was paying the bill, the waitress again requested to tip at least 18% as they are short staffed. While the other table was paying their bill, who were a white couple, was never asked to tip at least 18%. The waitress requested in Chinese to me.
A warm place to have a delicious rice noodle in Yunnan flavours and styles is a reason to be here in a winter night visiting Victoria.
