Food was delicious. Rice tasted great. However. This was my first visit and there was only 5 pieces of fried pork. Basically the 3 pieces you see on top and only 2 more under the veggies. I paid $20 for this. I won't be back. You get one shot and then I love it and stay or move on. Ill take my business elsewhere. Dang shame cause it was tasty.
Very poor food. While the vegetables were fresh, the dishes had very little flavour. The fried rice was not even fried. it was just regular steamed rice with some meat in it. It was terrible and cost 18 dollars. Fu Wah used to be so good - it is now not good. I definitely will not be going back nor will I be recommending.
I recently had the pleasure of trying the dry garlic pork , and I must say, it was delicious. The pork was not dry and the outside was salted so generously. I would highly recommend the dry garlic pork to anyone looking to try something savory that WILL be hitting the spot. Be sure to come hungry, as the generous portion size fill you up!

They were very nice people, but the food was so sub par. One of the worst chow mein I’ve had. The “chicken” in the fried rice and chow mein dishes were rectangle weirdly spongy “meat”. It was almost inedible. Dry ribs were decent, broccoli wa s decent in the beef and broccoli, but the beef was not chewable. We ended up throwing almost all away.
We got take out and ordered Ginger Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Shrimp Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, and some veggies. The Beef and Pork were fried to perfection and thry even packed the sauces separately so that they won't get soggy! The fried rice was also delicious and the shrimps were so plump and seemed to be fresh! Lastly, the spring rolls and veggies acted like the perfect final addition to our delicious meal! To summarize, we loved the food and wjll be back!
Quick and affordable food; especially veggies and spring rolls are delicious. Friendly service too! Good size portions; we even had a little bit of leftovers for the next day. If you need to grab a warm quick dinner, highly recommend this cafe!
Fu Wah hits the spot when I have a hankering for some sweet n sour deep fried chicken 😊 I'm glad to have a good Chinese food place in the neighborhood. We got (as a dinner for two) - two spring rolls (#1), an order of veggie chop suey (#44), and an order of sweet and sour chicken balls (#70). The spring rolls: gotta be the biggest spring rolls I've ever had, and I love it. They're like double the diameter of spring rolls I've gotten other places, so just one is all you need to be satisfied. The veggie chop suey: the vegetables were so crisp and fresh and green! Very nicely done and goes well with the deep fried items. The chicken balls: I was very happy to find out these were actual chunks of chicken breast breaded and fried rather than something like a ball of ground up chicken like chicken nuggets (I wasn't sure what to expect based on the item name). They weren't too greasy at all, so I enjoyed several without feeling "heavy" the way some deep fried food can make you feel. If you're craving some tasty sweet n sour deep fried chicken, these are perfect! The service: we ordered take out around 6:30 on a Wednesday night. Was ready within 15 minutes :)

It was a lot better when the old Chinese couple owned it. They were so giving and amazing bit its been taken over by a new owner and I went once and never back.
Fresh food, good prices
When we stepped in most things were dirty like the floor, windows, tables etc. there was not a huge selection of choices which didn t bother me as much but it might bother others. the service was ok it wasn t bad but it wasn t the best either, i am pretty sure i was overcharged because me and my friend spent together 31 dollars which means it was 15.50 each even though the price says 12-13 for one item. the noodles have no flavour. some of the veggies tasted ok. my friend had sweet and sour pork which the lady working there drowned her noodles with the sauce even though she specifically asked not a lot of sauce. if you are looking for good canadian/american chinese food that isn t overpriced then this is a horrible place to look. i thought this place would be nice since i saw good reviews but god was i mistaken.
terrible place ive had a good experience one time , ive tried coming here since it close and my gf love chow mein but everytime im met with rude customer service and shouting unclean cooking untensils easily seen in the back and they let me order my food then proceed to make part of my food only to tell me they dont have white rice or this meat and then ask if i wanna order double gfs order when i say no they get irritated and rude. terrible place dont eat here
Very good food very good prices
The wonton soup is so good! I m not sure if they are house made wontons, but the meat inside is so delicious and flavourful! It doesn t taste like cheap pork or frozen wontons! Sweet & Sour Pork is delicious. This is generally an item on most menus I stay away from because so many restaurants don t serve it the best (Soggy, old, etc) but their s was crispy and juicy! Beef and broccoli was amazing. The broccoli is so crunchy and fresh. I always drive past this place but this was my first time trying it, I ll be back! There was a bit of wait time, granted I came during dinner hours but considering how delicious the meal was, I don t blame them for being busy!
I ordered tonight over the phone, the lady was very accommodating to allergies. When I arrived, I had to Wait a few minutes so she gave me a little sample of dry garlic pork to have while I waited. The food was great!

The food was the worst Chinese food that we had ever tried to eat!! It was disgusting. The place is filthy and the bathroom is just disgusting! We used to go there on a regular basis and the previous owners were super and so was the food. We will never go there again .ever.
Oh my goodness!! Best Chinese I ve ever had. It s fresh and delicious. The people there were so kind and gave me a sample while I waited. They were ready in the time they said and it was just great quality. Will never go anywhere else.
The food was really awful, the prawns were in a heavy cake like batter that was doughy and not edible. Did not eat the rectangle spongelike chicken in the chow mein, the fried rice wasn t really fried and tasteless. The chop suey was mostly broccoli and not cooked and the sauce was just water, will not be back and a complete waste of money

We had our first Fu Wah experience on Christmas (2022.) We called in our order and we were told that they were open, but very busy. We arrived at the projected time and entered the establishment to see two hardworking people running the show all on their own. We patiently waited along with the others and endured someone being rude and impatient, canceling their order because of the wait, and making a bit of a scene over it. As the restaurant ran out of items, everyone was very understanding and accepting of the situation. (Every time they apologized, everyone kept saying the apology wasnt needed.) When my Curry Squid was no long available, I happily took Salt and Pepper Squid with onions, carrots, peppers and chili flakes. The squid was great, but Ive never IN MY LIFE had side vegetables taste so good! The egg rolls we got were huge and delicious, the won ton soup was delightful and the broth was wonderfully seasoned... I could go on and on. Im just going to say that Im very grateful this restaurant was open on Christmas, and Im glad we were able to be customers for two people that were working so hard to get the job done. No complaints! We intend to be repeat customers! Vegetarian options: I overheard Salt and Pepper Tofu as well as a couple of other Tofu or vegetarian options.

First time customer and will be back! We made the mistake of ordering Chinese on NYE not realizing so does half of Langford. Holy cow the restaurant was slammed. Line up of people waiting for their food. And wait we did. But I could see it was just two people trying their best to keep up and also knew my food would be freshly made. Note to self, next time order on a regular night. The food surpased our expectations! Sweet and sour chicken balls - honestly some of the best Ive ever had. Ginger beef - crunchy, good meat to crunch ratio, lots of ginger flavour. In my top 3 best ginger beef. Vegetable chop suey - great flavour, my only complaint would be Id like to see less cabbage and more of the other vegetables. Spring rolls - large, tasty, crunchy, delicious. Overall my new favourite Chinese restaurant and we will be repeat customers.
I have been going here for years. But havent been there lately . They have upped their game. Very good food. Sweet and sour pork is amazing. Breaded almond chicken good. Chow Mein is always good. Mad that I forgot to get an Egg Roll. Sooooo good.
I rarely write a negative review. The whole if you have nothing good to say....) but in this case, save your money. I am actually picking the chicken out of the Lemon and Ginger chicken because it is not edible. The rest of the $87 meal is no better. Shame on you Fu Wah! You are ripping people off! Disgusting!
I ve ordered take-out twice from this family-run cafe and have really enjoyed the food each time. It s fresh and not salty or greasy. It tastes home cooked and we will definitely make it our regular take-out spot. Thank you to the owners for making good food!

This is a very very bad Chinese food place! I ordered beef and broccoli but I could not even eat it as the taste was so bad and the meat was discoloured! Ive never seen such pale beef in a beef dish. I almost thought it was pork! A waste of money!

worst take out ever
They were off tonight. Food quality was not great. Chow mein was really poor, part of the almond chicken was undercooked, beef in the chop suey was not worth eating. Wont be back Im thinking.
If you are eating for one this is the place to go. Dont let the shabby decor fool you. The food is better all around then any other Chinese restaurant in the West Shore. Its definitely not a place to bring the family for an eat-in dinning experience, but the food is good.
I usually don t write reviews but this place was too good to not write one! No words can describe how delicious the dry garlic pork is. This was my first time ordering take out from Fu Wah and it did not disappoint, will definitely be ordering more from here in the future. Food

My favorite Chineee in the Westshore
If one could do 0 stars it would be given. Told 6pm for a order placed at 5. Not bad, only a hour. Got there had 7 people who placed orders after mine go through. After being told 15min 4 bloody times it is 7pm. Still sitting there as people come and get food and my pick up order is not close to prepared. (not a large order) WILL NOT RETURN. If you are going to give me a pick up time and you are busy give a time to come back and not have me sit in your restaurant for over a bloody hour spoon feeding me couple more minutes.

When you use Costco pre cooked chicken in your chicken fried rice that deserves a bad review, beef also cheap and hard as a rock, spring rolls were terrible too. Would not eat here again nor advise anybody too. Edit: Response to owner: Its called chicken fried rice... not turkey fried rice. The chicken used in the rice was a pre-cooked strips of bland, rubbery chicken.... definitely not the best cut by far. The ginger fried beef resembled beef jerky, hard and chewy. The spring rolls were stuffed with huge chunks of cabbage and celery.... the two most tasteless & cheapest ingredients you can use. Not even any spring beans :s If you want better reviews, stop cutting corners and use proper meat. I hope you improve on your retailer choices so you can finally be awarded Five Stars not just fake reviews!
Ordered bbq pork fried rice, szechuan beef and the dinner for two (subbed ginger beef for the sweet & sour pork). Rice was ok, flavour of the szechuan beef was good, but was 90% cabbage with a handful of pieces of meat. Dinner for two was not good, ginger beef was basically ginger bread and chow mein was ok. The spring rolls were massive and, you guessed it, stuff full of basically only cabbage. Was not worth the hundred dollars for a meal that we threw over half of away. Save your frustration and order somewhere else.
***WORST CHINEESE FOOD EVER!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!*** I walked in and ordered on the spot. The food came in 30 seconds meaning it was already made. I however gave them the benefit of the doubt knowing full well probably what I was about to find out .& sure enough when I got home (only a block away) YEP ..left overs!!! Noodles completely cold. Beef looked days to weeks old. First time I ve ever had left overs straight from a Chineese restaurant. So bland too. Sweet & sour sauce was all watery. Worst yet .Won t be back ..If I wanted day(s) old Chineese food I d pay half this price and go to a buffet! Is this how every meal is here? Or did I get the Im lazy right now special? ****EDITED*** How professional of a reply. I can now see why your food was the quality it was. 1 - learn how to respond professionally rather than further embarrassing your fast food chineese establishment. 2 - if you actually looked at the right profile you would see there s lots of 5 star reviews. Also there s no day where I had rated as many businesses poorly as you said. Do you just make this up or did you confuse me with another customer you try to blame? Don t try to shift the blame away from your less than sub par food! Typical western style food. Don t be there if you expected traditional Chinese dishes. Foods are over cooked and salty.

Do not eat here. Asked for two item got noodle and veggy beef. Got all noodle and two peices of beef for $22 stop being so cheap your going to out of buisiness.
Wonderful service, affordable and very generous portions. Owner forgot to separate chow mein from meat so just gave me an extra container filled with chow mein!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! If zero stars was possible that s what I d rate this. Ordered our food at 5pm and was told to pick it up at 6:30. We get there for 6:30 and they had not even started cooking our order. It still wasn t ready by 7:30 so we left. Staff is very rude and overall unaware what customer service is let alone food safety. Last time I checked cutting raw pork next to raw vegetables and cooked dishes is a great way to give people food poisoning and get yourself sued! Recommend that the city of Langford should be doing a full inspection of their kitchen!

Super fast service, and a very nice couple. We ordered the chicken chow mein and sweet and sour pork. Very tasty, fresh and large portions. The couple even gave us complimentary garlic pork to try while we waited. Super nice. A very positive expeience, and well definitely go back again.
Love this place. Excellent customer service. The food is great. The only issue is they need to be open for lunch on the weekends my grandson loves this place and I only get him on the weekend this is what he wants for evèrytome and we cant go. This is the only thong that neecs to be changed..pleade. open up for lunch on saturdays and sundays. Thank you lunch every time

Last night food was terrible. A container full of just noodles and a few pieces of broccoli. $10. I threw it in garbage. Awful.
We love eating here, the whole family has a goto item. We share our meals as there are large portions of food. The pork garlic balls are great. I cant remember all the dishes we grab but what we have had is delicious and has us going back again and again. Highly recommended, service is fast, the food hot and staff are nice and polite.

Been here for lunch to get pick-up a few times. They have ready made items that you can come in on the spot to pick from if you dont call in beforehand. Good Ginger Beef and Sweet & Sour Pork, Garlic Pork, and decent noodles. Solid food all around; the War Won Ton looks legit but Ive yet to get one myself.
No redeeming qualities for this Chinese food. All of the chicken/vegetables in the chicken fried rice seemed to come from a can. The lemon chicken that I needed a hammer and a chisel to eat, and the hot & sour soup was not even palatable. Whyyyyy is good Chinese food so hard to find in the Westshore?!

The staff here are so sweet and friendly. This is the only Chinese restaurant Ive found in Langford that has really good egg rolls.

This has been our #1 spot for chinese food for over 15 years. The owners were such a sweet couple, and hardworking family! They were always offering free samples to those waiting in line and the food was always fresh & delicious. I hear there are new owners as of recently and I hope they maintain the menu and quality of food of the former owners. Im sorry I didnt get a chance to say thank you and good luck in retirement. I look forward to my next order!
Every few years we seem to try this place again. Pretty sure they over charged me by at least $10 on a dinner for 2. Lemon chicken was very tough, breading and chicken. Over all the food was bland. Not sure how they stay open... we always regret ordering from here.

I just stopped In tonight near closing after not being in for a while since covid to find new management. The food was great still fresh and I got more than I could have asked for for $10 and the two new people behind the counter were super friendly! I was greeted with not 1 but 2 samples of hot crispy dried pork that was offered to my daughter and I, also 2 fortune cookies for her and her brother and the place looked much cleaner and brighter than I remember a well which was nice. But you cant beat $10 sweet and sour pork, fried rice amd veggies and a delicious deep fried thing stuffed with a sweet sauce and pineapple. Im not sure what its called. It was an over all nice experience for sure.
The place is not very well set up, so when you first walk in its all over the place. The menu on the wall is not that easy to read and honestly the food was ok but nothing spectacular though!

I love this place. The owners always remember me and ask how the kids are. The dry garlic pork is probably the best in town, and is alone worth the trip here. Prices are fair and the portions are good - they always pack the containers tight!
Boyfriend and I love this place, great service always friendly and the food is good. Very high portions as well so always filling for a great lunch or dinner. The garlic pork is amazing. For the people tossing MSG around like it is horrible actually look up what it is. MSG was given a bad rap because of racism and actually isnt a cause of health problems (when used in moderation like other spices). So please look it up and stop continuing the racism. MSG is used by more than Chinese restaurants as well.

If you want Chinese food loaded with MSG then this is the place to go because they put MSG in everything. If you do not want MSG you have to place separate full orders which costs you more. I just wanted a dinner for one and I wanted vegan. My Chow Mein had no vegetables, my vegetable fried rice had no vegetables. I would definitely not eat here or order from here again!

Hands down best Chinese food in town. The owners are extremely friendly and love to feed people. Ive lost count how many times Ive been waiting in line and they just randomly start handing out food. Its always welcome.

This is the only place I ever go to for Chinese food in the Western Communities. The atmosphere in the restaurant itself is a little cold and sparse but as I always get take out, I dont really care. Every time Ive been in there (Ive been going there a few times per year for the last 13 years), the owners have been in there cooking the food right in front of you. Nothing to hide here :) They are real, friendly, efficient and pay attention to detail such as leaving a gap in the fried food container so as to prevent steam build up and soggy food, and letting you know which bag not to tip over because it has soup in it. The veggies are fresh and not overcooked. The salt and pepper squid is crispy, spicy and flavorful. My favorite dish is the wor won ton soup. Its also great value. 40$ gets you enough to feed a family of 4 and have lots of leftovers.
Love the home food feel ,great prices and portions. A little hidden jem in Goldstream. Definitely a fan, and will go again. Love that dry garlic pork.

I went hear and they refused to give me change back. I bought a homeless man a meal last Christmas and I guess they thought I was homeless and easy to push around or something. I used to tip 30% when I would go there by myself. What a mistake. These people are willing to loose a customer over 10$ & be extreamly rude. The food is cheap but big portions filled with tasty MSG.

I new and still know the owners of this dinner since I was eight! I still go there when I dont know what to have for dinner, I dont go anywhere else for Chinese food. They are very nice, and work hard to cook your Chinese food, you may even get a one free dry pork if youre new to the area!!!, Just talking about their food makes my mouth water. There restaurant has been here in Langford since the beginning way before Langford became a city! If your visiting Langford go see them!!!
We love their dry garlic pork, its so good! They have about 5 or 6 items ready made for quick take out, so we usually get a combo box of 3 items. You can also order off the menu. Nice people and great food!
