Its definitely a small family place, it has that feel to it. The experience was great, fast service, great food, good prices.

The food was ok, for my soup and sandwich combo I received the smallest cup of soup I had ever seen in my life and the sandwich was warm but not worth $17.99 ,walked away still hungry

Amazing food

Small cramped surroundings and plates are small in size, I assume this is to trick your mind into thinking you are being served a generous portion, when it actually causes spillage off plate onto table rendering it to be non-edible. Myopic business decisions in action. Other than the aforementioned, food was good as was service. Very little parking available.

Awesome place for breakfast!

If you go by the reviews you might assume that this is a great place to go for breakfast, and maybe it is, but our visit for breakfast fell extremely short of expectations. My wife and I were visiting Victoria from Montreal we selected the restaurant for our first meal of our visit. My wife just had a simple breakfast, but I opted for the chicken and waffles. I have had plenty of bad experiences with trying out breakfast restaurants and I figure the best way to avoid some disappointment was to opt for something a little less breakfast. So our food arrives, I started to eat when I can see the chicken was well past cooked, verging on being burnt, the buttemilk coating was a deep mahogany colour that was actually bitter tasting from being so overcooked. I called over the waitress, and pointed out the fact that the chicken was barely edible. She takes the plate and tells me shell have the cook redo it. I sat and watched my wife eat. Once she was done I figured she would end up sitting there while I ate. But I was wrong, about 10 minutes later I was presented with a second plate, and the chicken was just as overcooked, verging on burnt, as the first plate. We went to the cash paid for my wifes breakfast. I thanked them for the fantastic breakfast that my wife and I had together. I always enjoy paying to watch my wife eat while trying to figure out where I can go to grab a quick bit to eat so that the rest of our schedule didnt get thrown into disarray by the inconvenience. I cant tell if this was just an off day, but it really set a tone for the rest of my trip. Unfortuantely thats my review. Lots of parking available if that helps?

It was nice to find a classic *Diner style* breakfast of eggs, coffee, toast, and potatoes to kick off my weekend. Its a little hard to spot from the road, but its definitely worth seeking out. Will definitely be back here in the future.

Value, value, value! Of the pubs and resteraunts in the West Shore this is for now a hidden gem. I have never been here before as its not much to look at from the exterior. Inside is a nice throwback to the 50s dinner. Old nostalgic Langford photos on the wall. Food was fast, good, large portions and good prices. Very convenient location lots of parking in the area.

Service 1 star. First ones to sit down. 5 groups arrived atleast 5 mins after us. All get asked for orders before us. I had to raise voice at lady to even look at us. Then last served. Served after all other parties finished their food. Never came to ask about our food. Wanted honey so I had to go ask at front for it. No tip when I get this poor of service.

Meh. At > $20 per dish I would expect something more. This is truckstop diner food at best.

3 of the 5 servers were great, the other 2 less helpful and engaged. My food was adequate but plentiful. Coffee was very good. No uncaffeinated soft drinks except gingerale for some reason (might have just run out). You can get Baileys though! Not a ton of options for vegetarians (none for vegans) Typical diner environment if that is the ambience youre looking for. Super packed and by the time we left, several parties waiting for a table. Seems very popular.

Their eggs benedict gave me and my friends food poisoning :( I was in the ER for 8 hours! My friend was sick on her birthday and also they upped their prices!! Our server was very nice though and we typically love Fountain, but this broke us.

A short wait for enormous proportions! The hollandaise sauce is like heaven whipped up a buttery lemon dream. Service was pleasant. Atmosphere was a little pro American diner .still cute though!

I saw The Fountain Diner ratings and went for breakfast brunch & We were 3 along with small kid, they told to wait for 15 mins outside then after 15 mins they told it will take more 10mins. I told server lady that I ve small kid and she s Cold outside can she stay inside ?she was like NO. Even though there was space inside which could accommodate the kids and some adults. What a cold hearted she must be or not sure if the rules of The Fountain Diner dont allow people if they are dying in cold. Once I was inside the male server & other female server(Faye) who served us were really polite & down to earth persons. I see Asian people like Indians have always soft corner and helpful when I was in Goa I ve been travelling around different countries. Parking: Parking can be done in near by plaza. Restaurant is not huge inside (approx. 17-18) tables inside Parking is limited in front of restaurant & but lots of parking around the plaza

Big portions for breakfast....

This isn t the first time we went to the diner, but the service today was extremely poor. We were kept waiting 10 minutes to place an order, my husband had to go after the staff to request for our breakfast order to be taken. Even then, the lady who came to our table very loudly told us, after coming to the table, that she didn t take orders. So why did you come to the table? What did you think we were going to ask for? The food took way longer to come to our table, even though the place wasn t crowded. While we were having the breakfast, no once checked in on us, or offered refills. Poor experience, we have decided not to go again.

I ordered the big breakfast triple meat eggs homefries, hands down this was the best farmhouse breakfast Ive ever eaten. Quality sausage, ham and bacon all cooked to perfection. Sourdough toast and homefries were the absolute bomb, crispy and juicy. Id order this again and again.

Super happy we found this gem! Great service and while pretty basic, quality ingredients and care and attention to the menu items, delicious.

The wait staff was excellent however with the price of the meal (breakfast) was not overly impressed with portions and quality.

I have been trying to eat here for as long as I can remember. My husband and I finally went. The vibe was chill, and our server was amazing. She went above and beyond for us. I went for the veggie omelet, and it was good. My husband had the fountain and liked it. The food is quite basic. We need to try more dishes to properly rate it though. The service made this a really good experience. We will be going back to try other meals.

Excellent home style breakfast

One of my absolute favourite diners to go to in Langford; I can only describe it as cozy and delicious. The food is always perfect, and the wait staff are personable and attentive without being hovering too much. Its always got authentic welcoming vibes, and I always leave with a delightfully full stomach.

I came here with my family to eat breakfast. Im sure the food is amazing as I saw all the reviews, but didnt get a chance to eat. This place had a horrible vibe. Staff were rude and when I simply and nicely asked a waitress if a group of people were here before us as I never saw them and we were waiting for a while and they got the table ahead of us. I was wrong, they arrived before us and the waitress responded quite rudely to me pointing to the list where my name is and said NO! THEY WERE HERE BEFORE YOU! looked at me rudely as if to say so shut up and walked away. That was my cue to leave and I will never be back. If that were me and I saw a family with two young antsy boys getting restless id check in and say hey guys, I know its been a while. Hang tight, we are pretty busy but youll get a table soon. They never checked in and I could tell our kids were bothering them. If a customer asked me nicely if someone was there before then Id kindly respond. She was rude for no reason.

Fun little Diner, nothing fancy but good honest people with good honest food

This place was recommended to me during my trip to visit Victoria. It did not disappoint. The food was amazing and portion sizes were large for the pricing. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Would recommend as a go to breakfast or lunch spot.

The food was amazing and the service was amazing. Cool atmosphere but it smelled very strong of cigarette smoke in the back of the dining room where we were sitting.

I had the west coast Benny, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The lox was cold in xontrast to the hot eggs, making for a very enjoyable meal.

We got a beef dip with fries and a crispy chicken ranch wrap with a caesar salad. The beef dip was just dry beef and a bun. The fries were not fully cooked or salted and the caesar salad dressing was just mayo. It was also over priced for what you get. Will not be eating here again.

Food was great and loved that you get a nice big cup of coffee so you dont have to mix your cream and sugar and wait for top ups every 2 minutes!

Not the best service, the kitchen is too slow. Our food took 45 mins to come to us. And it wasn t even great.. left a bad taste.. I used to enjoy coming here a year ago but it s just not great anymore..

Ive tried this place twice now and both times have not been disappointed. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times service was quick and the food was delicious. Seating seemed a little tight in someplaces but the overall atmosphere was good and the servers were friendly. Will definitely be back.

Great food great price, smaller seating area has a decent covered patio, steak and eggs done just right fries are like thick round chips, wife likes the Montreal smoked meat skillet. Full of flavors nothing gets buried for taste. Nice size portions for your hard earned cash.

Very good food. About a 15 minute wait to get in when we went.

I thought when we went in at busy lunch it was going to take a long time. I was wrong. They have a great team atmosphere which is rare I find in restaurants where usually one person is the only contact per table. Everyone helped eachother and there was no delay. Service was great. I ordered the eggs Benny, crisp bacon, extra toasted muffin, eggs medium and waited for the usual disappointment as always. To my surprise it was perfect. Like totally perfect all around. I couldnt believe after years of trying I found a spot that did it how I liked it. Great service, great staff and atmosphere I will definitely make the drive from quadra/Mckenzie again!!

Staff were friendly and the diner had a great retro vibe. Food portion is large but price is very reasonable! Will definitely come back next time we visit the island!

Great little place in the heart of Langford..

Nice cosy diner. Friendly service in a great location. Had BLT, Salad and Two egg traditional with toast. They had run out of tomatoes . Other customers seem to magically have tomatoes. Other than that this is a good BF/Brunch location to try.

Love coming here with my husband for a nice brunch. Yesterday, I brought my 8 year old son and he enjoyed a large and delicious milkshake while I had my usual avocado bacon Benny. Im very particular about how my eggs are cooked and they get it right every time. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly staff and a nice kid menu which includes breakfast or lunch options.

What a find, worth going out of your way to eat at this great little place. Excellent breakfast, best my husband had in Canada in 3 months. Knocked a star off as my breakfast wasnt hot - tasty though. Friendly staff, excellent service, good atmosphere. Recommended.

This isnt the Fountain I remember and used to love coming to. Quality of service has slightly gone down hill (less frequent coffee top ups, asking if things are okay etc) and the prices have jumped drastically. Not to mention menu changes that took away local favorites. Its almost gambling now coming here instead of being confident that things are going to be 5 out of 5.

The boys and I eat here every Friday as part of our weekly meetups. The service is fast, portions are great and the prices are relatively good in comparison to some of their competitors. Love the outdoor patio.

The food was delicious and the hostess and server at the end of our meal was delightful. However, I am removing a star as the server we had for most of the meal was rude and made us feel like we were a massive inconvenience on her day. After we received our food, she never came to check on us, mostly stayed behind the desk. When my husband was able to flag her down as she walked by to ask for hot sauce, she scowled and walked away to get it, barely acknowledging us. Thankfully the lovely gentleman server was able to help us receive our bill.

100% loved this place. First time coming but will be back. Get their early the line up was big at about 10. Parking: Lots of parking, limited close to the door though.

Stopped in for some breakfast on a busy Sunday morning, requested a table for two with a 15 to 20 min wait, no problem thats decent. Hostess came back over to explain that we cannot stand in the entrance, fair enough the entrance is small and its easy to block the door. She explained she will call out our name but we must wait outside, we asked to leave a number so we could sit in the car as it is 4° outside, to which she immediately replied its not that cold out! And they could not accommodate calling us when our table was ready. We felt her response to us was abrupt and rather rude. A little less attitude and some understanding would have gone a long way. Its the response we were given that we chose to eat elsewhere.

Such a cute fun place to go eat in theory.. in all actuality, cold, rude ignorant, accommodation effort zero.
