The cafe will serve Filipino cuisines with Canadian twists. We will make sure to bring optimism and happiness in every dining experience.
The quality of the food was exceptional. We received countless compliments on the taste, presentation, and variety of the dish. We were blown away by the generous portions and exceptional quality. Well worth every penny! From start to finish, the catering experience was seamless, stress-free, and truly enjoyable. Highly recommended in every occasion. We had a blast during our Christmas party.
Nothing outstanding—palabok sauce was too heavy for the amount of noodles, the food leaned salty, and portions were on the smaller side.
Was craving authentic Filipino cuisine and Benjamin's Cafe in Victoria (Esquimalt) did not disappoint! Their all-you-can-eat buffet is only $25/person for two hours (kids 10 and under eat for free). Best buffet value in Victoria for sure. There's an endless array of fresh, delicious food that they keep fully stocked and hot, plus incredible desserts. The staff were super friendly and we loved the chill ambiance (great seating outside in the sunshine!). Today's buffet had so many options, I couldn't even try them all but I did my best to sample everything and every dish was incredible: Bulalo with Meat (Beef shank soup — such a rich, savory broth) Pansit Bihon (Rice noodles) Carbonara Laing ( taro leaves in coconut milk with crispy pork on top — irresistible!) Ensalandang Talong ( Eggplant salad) Pork BBQ (no idea what sauce they use but it's amazing) Pork Lumpiang Shanghai Rolls Sinaing na isda (steamed fish) Chicken BBQ( in rice wine) Lechon Paksiw ( Roasted pork stewed in vinegar — I had thirds!) Ube cake Fruit Salad (not your ordinary fruit salad — sooooo good) Highly recommend.
Staff are super friendly , they provided extra fruits for us as a welcome gesture. Their food is nice, we ordered eggs Benedict with salmon and I loved it. They also have karaoke and we played our music till the food was served. Philippine open buffet served Saturdays at 11am and expect it will be amazing! Captchino was remarkable
There's a few Filipino options in the area but we're so glad we tried this one. Me and the wife were craving for a Halo Halo but then we saw their menu and I was sold! The sisig and the BBQ skewers were so good we went back again and again during our stay in Victoria. I highly recommend this place!!
I was very excited to try this place, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. The Tapsilog (3/5) was good—the beef had a texture similar to sweet beef jerky. The Pork Sisig (4/5) was also good but quite greasy; a pool of grease was left on my spoon. The garlic rice was excellent (5/5), and the kare kare was decent (3/5), though it lacked any special flavor. The Lomi (0/5) was not to my taste; the overpowering pork smell was off-putting. The Halo Halo (4/5) was okay and an interesting experience, but not something I'd drive back for. Overall, it was an interesting experience.
Lechon Kawali - 5/5: Generous portion size and wonderfully crispy! Halo-Halo - 5/5: Delicious and refreshing, a must-try! Lomi - 2/5: Unfortunately, our second visit for the lomi wasn't as satisfying as the first. The flavor was bland, and the soup lacked its usual thickness. Pares - 3/5: Mediocre, nothing outstanding. Buko Pie - 0/5: Please STOP selling this! It's tasteless gelatin, not buko! 🤢 Cashier not in the mood? 😅 and server is forgetful. 😬
We’ve had pretty great experiences with Benjamin’s! Staff is always friendly. Every once in a while, an order gets mixed up but they have always been more than helpful with sorting it out. One thing I hope gets updated down the road, is the patio area. Not ideal seating and tables are a little on the small side. The food and service keeps us coming back, probably more often than we should! This place has a strong family dining feel. Check it out for yourself.
I ordered Chicken adobo and Lumpia via Uber Eats yesterday, 10 December 2024. Later, I got a notification via Uber that Lumpia needed a change as the store was out of it. Also, I got a vocie mail from Benjamins saying they are sorry and they could substitute the Lumpia with someother dish (Empanada). To make it clear, I phoned the store with the contact from google. A lady took the phone, and they recognized me (Uber Order). She said she could change Lumpia to Bbq pork and assured me that theres nothing to worry about. I was so happy how they treated me even when i am not dining in. But, after 5 minutes, I found that they had cancelled my order and that I had not been charged for the order. I tried to reach Benjamins at least 4 times. And nobody responded to me. As a customer, I feel very sad about this. Even if Benjamins cancelled my order without giving me an option, I would have been fine. But, this made a very bad impression on me. I really wanted to try Adobo for the first time in my life. I recommended your restaurant to a lot of my friends before. This is my honest experience, and i deserve an explanation. I can attach the screenshot of my calls, too. Later, on Dec 13th, 2024 I visited Benjamins as I really wanted to try their Chicken Adobo. I was surprised as they were so sorry for what happened the previous day with Uber Eats. Chicken adobo with garlic rice was so good. I really loved the flavour. They wanted me to have the Adobo complementary. But, I refused as I completely understood it was not their fault what happened the previous day. Go ahead, Benjamins. I will visit again to try your best dish.
went during buffet special & it was disappointing. foods are not warm, even bulalo was greasy cause it was cold. dessert was off, it was buko pandan but none of it tasted pandan. please get a better heating equipment cause it doesn t work
The place is nice and the I love the food!
The food is amazing! Havent had Filipino food in awhile and this hits the spot. Our new fave place in Victoria. Food
A wide variety of foods to choose from and very friendly staff! Made to feel like home. Thank you for such a welcoming atmosphere
(BBQ) This is a flavor explosion in every bite! (CRISPY KARE-KARE) Perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. Sabaw pa lang ulam na. Food : 5/5
The spaghetti was absolutely delicious took me right back to my childhood! The Halo Halo was also fantastic. Such a charming local spot with great flavours and a cozy atmosphere!
My girlfriend and I came here twice in the same day. Solid filipino breakfast, delicious buffet. Will need to return for stuffed ube french toast.
Finally a great Filipino restaurant in Victoria. We tried their weekend buffet for 25$ and it was a great value. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming. The food was such a surprise, and of excellent quality. This is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene and we will be happy to come back again!
We wanted to try Filipino food and were very disappointed by their buffet. Food was cold and did not look appealing. Didn t taste good either. Ube cake was the only thing that tasted good.
Not being raised in the Philippines, l couldnt rate the food based on authenticity. I had to turn to my Filipino wife for that answer. Well, she surely enjoyed the food and left extremely full. I also enjoyed the food and left very satisfied. We do recommend trying Benjamins Cafe, dont forget to bring a big appetite. Kid-friendliness: No restrictions on children being kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to access by wheelchair if needed.
Long weekend buffet was great. Large selection of proteins and absolutely delicious beef shank soup.
This is an authentic Filipino restaurant - with genuine Batangueno dishes like Sinaing na Isda, Tagaytay Bulalo, Kalderetang Baka, Pochero, Lomi etc. Their Sinaing na Isda is exceptional, the softness! You can also eat thorn and fish sauce with it (should have asked for fresh tomatoes and some shallots!). This place is AMAZING! Food is served warm and mouthwatering, service is excellent with a smile, has a very comfortable patio to enjoy your meal. Come and experience this lovely restaurant!
My Mum and Is first experience at this restaurant was amazing! The staff were kind and welcoming as soon as you walked in :) The food was amazing, we ordered Lechong Kawali and Pork BBQ with their garlic rice, wow!!! Filipinos who miss classic home cooked dishes like these would enjoy this restaurant for sure. They even sold ube hopia, leche flan, kutsinta, pandesal, and more! Worth the experience :) THE LECHONG KAWALI AND BBQ WAS SO DELICIOUS :,D Then it was even more delicious when the bulalo was so good, my mom and I were so full we were just stunned by the taste of the food! Eat here!!! :D
Very disappointed with the food. It s very tasteless. Lacks flavour and doesn t come near what authentic Filipino food tastes like. Waste of money. Will not be coming back.
The food here was delicious!! They employees were also very kind and nice to talk to, they all had smiles on their faces. The place is very beautiful too!! Would definitely come back sometime!
Had an amazing mocha and breakfast croissant. The space is lovely and the people beside me were having some pasta that smelt so good i need to come back with my gf.
Benjamins is great, weve been several times now. The food is delicious, staff are super friendly and its a very good vibe all around.
I am a big foodie and I love flavorful foods so when this restaurant opened I was really stoked because finally, theres a Filipino restaurant in Victoria. I first came here to try their halo-halo and I was impressed and told a few of my friends. We went back the second time and the third. The fourth time I was with my Canadian friend hoping to impress him but he said the banana was hard. Their was also some ingredients missing that they had to top it off with more gelos (not nata de coco) which is not really an ingredient in a halo-halo. I did not enjoy it and regretted that I bought two. I also tried the Lomi on another occasion with my dad and I enjoyed it at first. The second time was with a friend and I did not enjoy it as the taste has changed and it wasnt as good as the first. I tried their buffet to support them celebrate their one year anniversary. It was eat all you can for $25. I went their mainly because I want my Vietnamese friends to try Filipino foods and what better way to do that than the eat all you can idea. My Filipino friends were not really stoked to go because they said the foods here are not really good, but they went because of me. The pancit was basically just noodles with soy sauce and cabbage, there was no meat. It was the same for chopsuey. The veggies were not properly cooked and are cut into big sizes plus there was no meat in it. If you know the real taste of chopsuey to how Benjamin Cafe cook it, the taste doesnt even come close. I said this because I have tried their chopsuey on multiple occasions where my friends ordered catering from them. The lumpia was ok and dry. I tried the lechon kawali and that was ok. I also tried the beef menudo or was it afritada, not quiet sure but the memory of it already faded meaning it was not good either. The lechon kawali was ok. I had to make my money worth so I went back a few times for the buko pandan. That concluded my visit and I will say that this will be that last time I will me dining here. I was not really impressed with what was served and all in all it was an ok experience to try the other menus they have. To be honest, the foods here are a hit and miss not to mention very pricy. According to a friend of mine, the number one reason why Filipino people eat out to a Filipino restaurant is to eat delicious foods and to treat themselves or their family. If the foods we eat out is not as good as the one we cook at home, then it is better to just stay home and cook. He has a very good point there. I hope this will serve as a constructive criticism. I did try to support this restaurant and went back a few times.
This place is a total gem, the food is delicious, do try their egg Benedict for breakfast, delicious croissants and sandwiches , I also tried their halo halo drink which was ice cream, shaven ice and alot of good stuff in it. Service is very polite, friendly and professional! A must!
I had a great time and felt as if I was having lunch at Philipino friends place. The server was friendly and attentive. Food was yummy. They have Philipino and Canadian brunch options, which was great!
Relaxed family café. Food delicious!
Very friendly guys, very good food.
We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with Marcus and his family providing excellent service and bright smiles. Its the perfect place to start your day with a positive vibe. Highly recommended!
From the moment you step into Benjamin s, a Filipino restaurant nestled in Esquaimalt, you are enveloped in a sense of warmth and hospitality that feels like a homecoming. Great Filipino restaurants have a unique way of making you feel welcome, and Benjamin s is no exception. The atmosphere is unpretentious and inviting, allowing you to relax and enjoy the experience fully. The food at Benjamin s is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is a flavorful journey, from the savory richness of their sisig to the delightful sweetness of their rice cakes and coconut desserts. Each bite is a testament to the culinary traditions of the Philippines, executed with care and authenticity. Whether you are familiar with Filipino cuisine or trying it for the first time, the menu offers something for everyone, with a variety of options that are both comforting and exciting. The service at Benjamin s is equally impressive. The staff is attentive and friendly, always ready with a smile and eager to make your dining experience memorable. They go out of their way to ensure that every guest feels at home, providing recommendations and sharing the stories behind the dishes. As Benjamin s celebrates its one-year anniversary, we are reminded of the joy they have brought to the community. It s a place where friends and family can gather, share a meal, and create lasting memories. We hope to see them again on our next visit and wish them many more years of success. Happy one-year anniversary, Benjamin s! Thank you for your exceptional service, delicious food, and for making us feel at home
The food was alright and is over priced. 8 small pieces of lumpia is not worth the price. I was looking forward to the palabok but it was made like a soup and they used the wrong noodles. They used pancit bihon which is not used with traditional palabok. Needless to say I was extremely disappointing. The lumpia wrapper was peeling off which indicates they were previously frozen and taken apart too quickly which tore the wrapper. Again, disappointed. I m sorry, but I would not go back there again. Overall it was ok.
Wide selection of Filipino food and great staff. Whenever we miss Pinoy food, we go to Benjamins right away. Generous serving and budget-friendly.
Were visiting from Kelowna, was really happy to find some Filipino food here as we dont have much back home. The portions were good and the halo halo was great! Will definitely come back before we leave.
The food is awesome and the folks are super friendly. Refreshingly unpretentious about the delicious food
Our experience at benjamin s never disappoints everytime we visit. Good food and great people. So many varieties of filipino dishes that taste exceptional especially their sisig and sinaing na tulingan. Trully feels like home..
Such friendly staff!!
Thanks so much for all the delicious food we had for my daughter s birthday. The best Halo Halo, Pork Sisig and Lechon Paksiw in town If you are craving for some halo halo this is the best restaurant you must try.. Staffs are all welcoming and friendly..Thank you!
We ordered Pork barbecue, Lechon Paksiw and Beef Spaghetti for a birthday party. Menu indicated that food was good for 8 to 10 pax but it was quite a generous portion even for 16 guests that we still had takeout food afterwards. Delivery was smooth and food was amazing. We will definitely be repeat customers. Thank you, Benjamin s Cafe!
An awesome filipino cuisine experience in Victoria! We tried pares and tapsilog, and it feels like home. Very friendly staff, great ambience and free parking as well. Will definitely comeback here again when we visit Victoria together with our kids!
Were just visiting here at Victoria and we found this filino restaurant, Benjamins. At first we tried pares and it is really good (we took home anothet order too!). We go back again and tried tapsilog which is really good too. They have accommodating staffs, in fact they let us in even we are an hour earlier. Good job mga kabayan! God bless you all!
The lechón was super good!
My family was visiting me from Toronto and I brought them here. We ordered the Kare Kare, kaldereta, bbq skewers, and tuna sisig. They were all great! Servers were so nice and welcoming. One of the owners came out and greeted us as well. This place is definitely a go-to when youre in Victoria and craving home-cooked Filipino food!
The Palabok is so satisfying, truly home made dish when your taste buds crave for filipino food. This more better at home
I love your tuna salad is yummy
I ordered the palabok and it was so good! You must try Benjamins Restaurant here in Victoria Canada! All the staff are very nice. Thank you so much!!! Food
Ordered a pork sisig for take out and although the food was delicious and satisfied my cravings, I find that the price I paid for did not match up with the portions I received. It left me wondering if dining in provides bigger portions compared to take out. We also bought chocolate crinkles and were surprised to try them (the same day we bought them Saturday, April 27) as they were as hard as a rock. It was not the soft, chewy, and moist crinkles. I m not sure if this is how they make them or this is an old batch of cookies.
Just had a sumptuous breakfast this morning with a friend Jun, and enjoyed eating the ever-popular tasty tapsilog. The place really got an aura especially for gourmet people!
I was so excited to try Benjamin s and was so let down. The pancit was inedible and I normally love pancit from other restaurants. Chunks of meat were suspiciously dry and rotten tasting and I couldn t swallow them. The meat was not the chicken prawns and tofu described but I could not tell you what it was. The noodles carried the off-meat taste and ultimately we threw it out after a couple bites. The caldereta started strong - the potatoes in it are tasty and it s a good sauce, but again the meat tasted a little off and had a displeasing texture that ended up tainting the experience. The lumpia were average. Anyway I still feel like throwing up and I m down seventy bucks so wanted to save someone else from going through this.
Its a piece of home
The food was dry and tasted awful. Not cheap either. Took my mom there for mothers day and it was the worst $50 I ever spent. The restaurant itself is a converted coffee shop and the haphazard placement of tables shows this. The decor was tacky, the kitchen was dirty, but if they were trying to nail the dingy third world atmosphere of the culture, they certainly succeeded.
I went here with my wife for the first time today., so we wanted to give this a try. It was fairly quiet in the restaurant, because we went later in the day we were greeted by our cashier who was pleasant and friendly to deal with. They had a wide variety of different Filipino groceries for sale, as well as frozen lasagnas, soups, and other items. They have lots of different items on the menu. Lots of traditional Filipino dishes. I had the beef Talisog*? It was delicious loved the atchara that was on top such a crunchy delicious sour snack!! I d like to try other menu items. Overall good experience.
Weve had the pleasure of dining here with my family a few times, and I absolutely love it! The serving sizes are incredibly generous, especially considering the price. One thing to note, though, if you have babies, the seatbelt on their high chair wasnt functioning properly, which was a bit concerning.
So good
We are so impressed with the service at Benjamin s! They went above and beyond to celebrate our little darling Dashia s 7th birthday. We never thought it could be more beautiful and special. Their team decorated our table for free! The quality of the food is satisfying! Not to mention, the gift they gave Dash was unexpected! We are so happy we chose to go there for this special occasion. Looking forward to more celebrations with you, Benjamin s! Cheers! From the Espinosa Fam-of-Five
Worth the trip! Must try: (1) Beef bulalo - meat is tender in heart-warming soup, serving is good for 3-4 pax. (2) halo-halo- this a refreshing dessert with milk, yam, flan, red bean, jackfruit, coconut, plantain, corn flakes.
This was a lovely surprise. We were in the area and searched for nearby restaurants. It was our first time having Filipino food, and it was delicious! The staff were welcoming and helpful in explaining the different dishes. We look forward to our next visit. Food
Had food here during the Esquimalt Night Market.. Great staff and great food! Warm, cozy place :) Kid-friendliness: My 8 year old doesnt tend to sit in one place for too long.. He was in and out of the night market.. The staff had no concerns with it..
Delicious! It was my first time trying Benjamin s and it did not disappoint. I got the chicken adobo and my boyfriend got pancit palabok . Both dishes were both so flavourful and very authentic. We will be back!
I think this is the last that I will order from them because the food is too greasy, I ordered a Buko pandan and I was very disappointed when I opened the bag and there was a sticky note saying they are out of buko pandan and instead gave me a tiny leche plan that is too tiny like it a 2 bite browny and I paid $4.50 for that . My pork sisig is very spicy ,the rice is swimming with grease and garlic like no tomorrow. I think I should get my money back
Was there for the Friday night market. Many venders, karaoke and good times
My coworker from the Philippines recommended this place to me after letting me try some of her sisig and I ve been hooked since. The food here is amazing!
One of the best restos in Victoria to go to if you are craving or want to taste Filipino food.
I celebrated my birthday party there and everyone enjoyed the food and the staff are friendly and accommodating . I will highly recommend your place.Thank you for making my day special
I am frequently ordering this menu in this restaurant but today was a bit off. I ordered and the food quantity was almost half the container. Not sure if they took it or what they have done. Though thier prices are expensive but still wanted to order because the quantity and quality of the food before was ok not until today, for the high price iam paying they should be consistent with the portioning of thier foods half of the container was not reasonable when almost 5 times i ordered it and its not like that.
Good food, good people great service!
The best food The best services The best places the best all the time Food : 5/5 |
Our first time here and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious, the portions are also good for sharing. All the staff are kind. Well surely be back and for sure recommend this Filipino Restaurant. It really feels like home. Thank you too Aunt Che
Benjamins cafe is my go to restaurant whenever I go to Victoria. Really good food, the staff have a good customer service and very welcoming. The place is clean and has a good atmosphere.
This is great food is full of flavour portioning is very good Had the Tuna Sisig and a platter for 4 this will be our go to place when we are in Vic Salamat!! Food : 5/5
Little Gem in Victoria. Very cozy place, love their Tapsilog with atsara waffle and the Spanish omelet. Cant wait to have another set of meal before we go back to Calgary.
The whole experience was fantastic. Great food, tables were roomy and spotless, the restaurant also has that bit of filipino grocery-ish so we can shop our fave pinoy foodies. It is always worth to dine or just grab n go. Would give 6 stars if there will be more tables.
The quality of food cant be beat...
We luckily found Benjamin s cafe, the atmosphere is cozy, many options for delicious and fresh food and dessert, we tried Lomi and crispy pork with rice. The Leche flan is the best in town. We definitely will come back and try others Great customer service will highly recommend it!
The Ube French toast I ordered was tasty, but for the price the portion is not big enough. For $13 or $14 they only give you two pieces of bread. I ordered it on Skip with some potatoes and bacon, and the portions of those are very very small as well.
Oh that wasnt the first time we had bad experience from your restaurant. The below review was your second chance. We went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. We had missing items from our order, our food wasnt hot, our spaghetti taste old; the only one thing we liked was the spring roll. But the rest, disappointing. *** I ordered two eggs Benedict but no sauce was included. Never ordering again from this place.
Great place to try Filipino cuisine in Victoria. I tried the tapsilog (marinated beef with garlic rice & sunny-side up egg) and it was great, comfort food! I went back 2 days after to try the longsilog. I loved the relaxed, casual and quiet vibe of the cafe.
Authentic filipino tasty food, vegetarian options too. Some tempting looking pastries but avoided temptation this time.
Tocilog is
First time having Filipino food and it was fantastic. I order the Lomi and it was a hearty stew like soup with crispy pork belly. Absolutely loved it and probably one of my favourite soups now, sorry Pho :p Also had the Lumpis and it was also excellent. The restaurant/cafe has a warm inviting atmosphere and staff are very nice :). Will definitely be back!
Scrambled eggs are one of the simplest things to cook...but hardly any restaurant does it well. Benjamins does! Great breakfast!
First time buying from here and wife just brought home the very best Lumpia Shanghai i ve had. Great Pancit as well. Super impressed
We had been meaning to go for a while, the food and service were great. We ll definitely be back.
Lovely owners, warm atmosphere and service and great food! Some of the best chicken I have ever had. Highly recommend
Friendly service and good food
Good food and service
Four of us went to Benjamins Cafe for the Traditional Breakfast Special. The Service was friendly, patient with excellent knowledge of their menu items. The Food was delicious, good portion for the price and cooked to our requests! The Atmosphere is welcome causal, bright and comfortable. We all agreed we needed to go back to try their lunch and dinner items. Their patio area is DOG FRIENDLY Wheelchair accessibility: I walk with a cane, easily accessible parking and seating.
Some friends and I came and tried the new menu; lumpia, chicken adobo, pork belly, and eggplant salad, etc. It was DELICIOUS!!! Super welcoming and kind atmosphere! Will definitely come back!
Everyone was so nice. AND they have really good filo food. We got one of their platters and it was very filling. It had all the good food that reminded me of home: garlic rice, adobo, lechon kawali, lumpia
Top notch food service. Family owned, food made fresh with love. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I have been a fan of Filipino cuisine for a long time now and Benjamins cafe never ceased to surprise me. Also you can rent the back of their restaurant for your events and they will carter to all you needs including food services(duh! ). Keep up the good work Benjamins cafe team.
The food was great specially the kare kare and sisig, the taste reminded us of home
there is potential for sure! it s hard to find a filipino restaurant or any restaurant of a culture you grew up with because mom s cooking always tops. Benjamin s Cafe was okay but filipino flavours were a bit muted. I had the Tapsilog- great presentation and quick service but the Tapa flavour wasn t there and i think my garlic rice was a bit burnt :( Also i am just not used to tapa looking like beef terriyaki but everyone s cooking is a little different! Need to come back to try the lunch dishes as i didnt know they dont start serving it at 12pm.
Dish I ordered (pork belly with aioli) had wonderful flavour but to pair items to make a balanced meal was prohibitively expensive. It was interesting to try but will I likely only try one or two more items as a novelty. Worth trying for sure though but expect a medium portion of uniform food for 20 dollars.
Amazing, authentic family business serving, Pilipino food! The staff is super polite as well! Highly recommend it!!
My family and I had a grand time at Benjamin s. The food was superb. The service is first class, plus after ordering, we did not wait long till food arrived. The staff also brought dessert with a candle on top for my mom s birthday and even sang her a happy birthday. They have a good mix of tasty coffee selections plus western and filipino cuisine. A must visit! :D
Delicously amazing filipino food! Finally, found a good location when craving for filipino foodies! Awesome and fast service too! Staff/servers are all nice & friendly! Esp the owners! Very humble and super friendly Gave us a complimentary dessert too for my daughter s birthday awww Super love this place! Congratulations and keep it up guys! More success to you all!
Finally a Filipino restaurant in Victoria (Esquimalt)! I had their generous serving of beef kaldereta (definitely a dish to share), jasmine rice, spring rolls and buko Pandan for dessert. They had other yummy treats that Im going to go back for! I cant wait to try to their breakfast. You guys definitely satisfied my pregnancy cravings! Thank you! My husband and I will be back :)
The food is absolutely amazing especially the Lomi and Ube halaya pancakes. The staff is quite friendly. They made sure you enjoy what you eat.
All the food we ordered tasted great! We tried almost everything on the menu and I highly recommend trying everything! The ambiance of the cafe is really cozy. We felt like we re back in the Philippines. Will definitely come back. Love from Alberta
Food is amazing. Service is very quick and staff is very friendly and accommodating.Looking forward for family combo. Kid-friendliness: They have ice cream that kids will love. A variety of flavour.
I expected amazing food because of the reviews so far. Unfortunately, it was not up to standards. Yes, it was Filipino dishes, but it lacked the wow factor. The tapsilog was the decent one: the egg was cooked to perfection, the fried rice is okay (lacks flavour, but it paired well with runny egg yolk), the beef was 7/10 (it was good, but nothing special, it was closer to beef teriyaki than beef tapa). The pork sisig was not bad not good (overpriced), it would be nice served in a small dish so that people could order it as an appetizer if they have never tried it. The garlic rice was the one that threw me off the most, it tasted bitter because of the burnt garlic, and it somehow lacked the garlic flavour even when you could tell there was so much garlic in it. NEVER EVER order the drink if you have sensitive stomachs, our digestive systems were so upset after this visit.
This place is immaculate their food was very delectable and succulent. 100% would recommend.
I was craving for Sago gulaman that would match the taste back home.If you are familiar with sago gulaman,Benjamins take would be up to your standard.I have also tried Tapsilog and their version is quite different from the traditional but since they promised twists for their dishes, and since the taste is superb,i totally recommend it.Pork sisig is crunchy, creamy and umami, made to perfection .Price is fair to its portion.Would definitely come back!
Very welcoming staff and great food. I recommend trying their sisig! Absolute must-visit for an authentic Filipino culinary experience :)
Visited Benjamin s Cafe today for lunch with family, staff were friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the delicious meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Food is great though I do wish some of the portions were a little bigger for the price.
from jelo of National Car and Truck Victoria.,Great filipino spanish inspired foods, love it, from jelo here Vegetarian options: more options Dietary restrictions: the pavement of the floor inside and outside is not flat. Parking: flexible time like until 10pm Kid-friendliness: playplace Wheelchair accessibility: accesibility
Delicious food and wonderful employees. I decided to stop in and check this place out and am so happy I did. This will definitely be a regular going forward!
My 93 year old mom and I loved our lunch - the food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. Have recommended Benjamens to friends and cant wait to take my husband.
The food was good , friendly staff, my wife enjoyed it, my wife is Philipino.
Love at first sight! I have traveled to the Philippines many times and consider myself experienced in fine cuisine. So far, I have ordered lechon, kare kare, pancit, and lumpia. I intend to try everything on the menu. While I like lechon crispy, I loved the sauce and flavour of this dish that isnt crispy. But the pork in kare kare is so crispy and the variety of veggies smothered in a delicate peanutty sauce was out of this world delicious! In fact every meal I have brings me back to the authentic and somewhat undiscovered flavours of the Philippines! Next up will be Halo Halo... a perfect treat (like a very fancy sundae) on a hot summer day!
This food was new to us, but we really enjoyed it! The service was great, the food tasty and the place was jumping at lunch, always a good sign. Thanks Mark, we will be back!
Highly recommend.crispy pork Kare-kare & crunchy tuna.good service very friendly from Calgary AB.
Best Filipino restaurant in Victoria. Been here with family and friends.
Excellent foods. Highly recommended and also very clean restaurant and nice staff. Niagara Falls, Ontario representative Food : 5/5
Foods was Amazing Great Job Kabayan Clean Plate Means Sarap :StopbyfromCalgaryWithLove:
Foods are great, delicious and in big servings that you can share with.
Good food and very accommodating staff.
great food and service.
Had the pleasure of meeting the owner! Appreciated the friendly service and good food!
For a new Filipino restaurant, they hit all the marks: Service was friendly and prompt; Atmosphere is casual dining meets family resto meets café (typical Filipino establishment appealing to all markets), Food is great (attempts to appeal to all markets). We would be more than happy following how they develop this business! To the owner: hit us up if you plan to spread up north island! Must try: Ube pancake, Kare kare, Halo halo, Brazo cupcake Potential: Rice (a little mushy for our liking) Parking: Can park 8-10 cars. Spaces can be quite narrow. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible by wheelchair
Good food. Great staff. Homey place to hangout
This is a great place. The food is excellent. The coffee is excellent and everyone was friendly and happy. I Ill definitely be back.
Staff was very friendly very welcoming and had great service. The food was incredibly amazing. They had great selection of food that really showcase filipino foods and filipino culture. Very good would recommend! kuya Ervin and cheann welcomed us all the way from Edmonton! Parking: Parking was very spacious. Free and accessible.
My family and I had a lovely dining experience here! Were very grateful to finally have an authentic Filipino restaurant in Victoria with such friendly staff and efficient service. The Kare-Kare and the Pork Sisig was delectable. Also, do not pass up the Ube Ensaymada! The texture of the dough is perfectly soft and not too sweet. They will be seeing us in their restaurant again soon.
Had tapsilog for lunch it was flavorful and tasty, the staffs were nice too! the atmosphere of the place was very warm and sweet! Cant wait to have another tapsilog , I cant wait to taste the rest of the menu too! My new fav place!! must visit! Kid-friendliness: nice
It was a great place to visit for Filipino foods and value for money. Serving was good for 2 people.
Our first time to try and its worth it, cravings satisfied since we flew all the way from Yukon! Taste of home. Excellent!
Delightful, friendly spot to eat in or take out, in addition to picking up restaurant made breads & desserts to go. Organized & friendly. Very gracious owners. Parking: Several parking spots in front & lots of street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is large, airy & wheel chair friendly.
Great place to try out Filipino food. Parking: Around 10 parking spots Food : 4/5 |
This place takes me back home Great atmosphere and never misses to amaze me with their authentic and unique twist to filipino cuisine. The staff were committed to providing great service. You can t really say you went to Victoria without eating at Benjamin s!
Definitely a money s worth. It has its western twist in some of the food but could still live the essence of classic filipino dishes. It s best when dining with groups like friends and family as is how filipinos enjoy food. Arguably one of the best filipino food restaurants in Victoria.
The vibe here is very refreshing and calming. Service-wise, their servers were very kind. Food-wise, the food here is very tasteful. I highly recommend coming here for a meal!
Empty and clean plates! I went with my friends and it is a really good place to share foods with. Their halo-halo is a must try dessert!!
Excellent Filipino dishes your Lomi is the best! Definitely will be back again
The service was good here and the staff friendly. Inside the restaurant was really clean and Brite. The food tasted good and I will have to go back and try more of the menu as I only had breakfast. I had a traditional breakfast but they also have American breakfasts as well. I will he going again to try more of the food. Parking: There is a small parking lot out front. There is also some street Praking. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheel chair ramp
Very delicious food and awesome environment. Super friendly and always see a smiling face. Love it, keep up the good work!
The food was absolutely amazing! Especially their Kare kare, sisig and oh don t forget to grab the halo halo as well. The best!
The taste of home.
I really enjoyed their Filipino food. I even came back for Halo Halo. Really dug that too. Service is great too.
Very friendly even the patrons say hello to you when you come in, feels like you re surrounded by extended family. Food was tasty and so filling! Highly recommend this cozy place to enjoy Filipino food
So thankful that we found this place! The food was amazing. We got tapsilog, lechon paksiw, halo halo, lumpia, sago t gulaman and buko pandan. The portions were big and we were both so full at the end. The service was also amazing and it felt like we were back in the philippines :) love the decor too! Hope we see you in Vancouver soon!
Very nice place and delicious food. The servers were very helpful and nice. The drinks were excellent and the treats were different but delicious!
Super delicious
Best filipino resto in victoria and best customer service.
Got the lomi and lumpia to share and it was great and a big portion. Everyone was very friendly and made great suggestions for our first visit here. Afterwards we grabbed some halo-halo and it was delicious! Definitely will return.
Craving for filipino food?? This is the place. Great food and service Food : 5/5
Honestly the best Filipino restaurant in town! The food taker and server was friendly and amusing! Lastly, the food s quality was the best and it was Wednesday so it was unlimited rice! Make sure to come here ya ll. Parking: So-so, but I recommend that they expand their parking lot.
Food was terrible. The server Che served our dish with her hands on our food, saw her pick her nose then right after touched the bakery then served to the customer. Also the server Mark bad attitude he just dropped our food on the table also had his finger touching our food. After I saw him use the washroom I went in and saw that there were pee stains all over the seat and floor. The food is overpriced and taste bland it looks like it was just microwaved and they just tossed it on a dish. The only two good people there is their chef and owner, they went to our table and greeted us. Overall don t eat here my daughter went to the hospital after eating the raw beef rice dish and my partner almost slipped on the floor and my son saw some rats under the patio and the tent area. Kid-friendliness: My kids felt unsafe because of the environment they were in they were scared just to go the washroom by themselves and the server Mark looks scary he doesn t smile and Che were mean to my kids.
Tasty Filipino food along with some American breakfast options like waffles and egg-Benedicts
Im so glad we now have a Filipino Restaurant here in Vancouver Island. Awesome food, ambiance and of course the warmest welcome! It truly reminds us of home kudos team!!!
Feels and taste like home(Philippines) great staff and amazing owners that are always present to ensure quality and authenticity! Kid-friendliness: My kid loved her ube pancakes
When I first entered the restaurant I was greeted by the owner with a huge welcome. he sat me at this huge table and asked me what I would like to eat. His server immediately brought me a coffee and a menu. The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was blue ribbon
Friendly atmosphere and very welcoming! The sisig and halo halo would be something I d get again. Thank you!
Super tasty! Really enjoyed the pork Sisig and Lomi. Great service and the halo halo was not too sweet!
This type of Filipino restaurant in Victoria has been a long time coming. I was so excited about their opening and when I finally got to eat there, it was everything I hoped for! The menu is amazing, they serve delicious dishes, and it hits the nostalgia factor just right. They open early in the morning that you get to eat the silogs, which has been a dream for me! Such a staple Filipino/Manila breakfast. I also had lomi which is both delicious and hefty, the crunchy pork belly in there was such a nice topping! Couldn t leave there without desserts, so I also got halo-halo, buko pandan, leche flan, spanish bread, and ube ensaymada (which btw is the heftiest ube ensaymada I ve ever had!). If that was an indicator of how they make ube, I can t wait to try more, like their ube pancakes. Overall, I highly recommend! I m just so happy they re here Parking: Small parking lot in front but tons of street parking Kid-friendliness: Yes it s kid friendly, tons of tables that can accommodate kids Wheelchair accessibility: It s wheelchair accessible, they have a ramp going up and it s easy to access the tent dining area in the back too
Love their Latte (w/ bonus latte art). Good brunch options. Try their delectable Ube pan cakes!!!
Authentic Filipino cuisine.
We ve been there today! Customer service was extremely great. They will surely be successful in their business ( that s my husband s comment). Regarding food, I was skeptic at first regarding lomi lo and behold! The taste was exactly like lomi in the Philippines. You made me feel I was in my native land, yet I am here in Canada. If they will have a Benjamin s Cafe here in Nanaimo(I hope), it will become my favourite restaurant in town. Thank you for the spectacular experience. Ray & Daisy
100% would recommend the halo-halo, sooooo good!!! The atmosphere/ambience is really nice. Foods were 10/10 - lumpia is *chef s kiss* I m so happy there s finally an actual Filipino restaurant in Victoria!
Kudos to the staff and Ate Lorie for making our special day a memorable one. Sumptous food and even greater service. If you want to try Filipino delicacies then this is the perfect spot for you! Will definitely come back. We tried sisig, lechon paksiw lomi and halo-halo.
Came here today to have halo halo with my friends. The place is cute. The servers are very friendly. The halo halo was delicious.
victory folks
The best Filipino restaurant in Victoria All the food that we tried was delish and consistent every time we visited, the staff was all friendly, the place was clean, and it never disappointed bringing our non-filo friends to try our food. Also, the best place to get your favorite dessert, halo-halo. It s smooth and creamy, not too sweet but tastes like heaven.
I have been living in Victoria since 1964 and there have not been many Filipino Restaurants in town. We had family visiting from out of town so decided to go to Benjamin s Cafe & Restaurant for dinner. This was the first time we have been to this place and were greeted by the friendly staff, the service was prompt and efficient ,the food was excellent- tasty & well presented. The place is very bright & clean. Would highly recommend it for a delightful Filipino dinner. Would go back for sure.
Best hospitality Benjamin has my heart
The food is delicious.. and all the employees are kind
Excellent service
Everything was excellent. Good service, ambience and of course food!!!
The food is sooo great and affordable! Will definitely come back!
Good food! Good staff! Highly recommended God bless, Benjamin s Cafe!
A must-try Filipino restaurant in Victoria, BC !! The food is amazing, the owner is very accommodating and nice, and the atmosphere of the cafe is pleasant and relaxing. We will be coming back whenever we get the chance
Delicious and authentic filipino food and dessert, place is great and friendly staff. Will definitely come back
fun
Was just there 3 hours ago. We ordered the Chicken tosilog and pork sisig. The food is very tasty but what I love the most fron y experience today is the customer service. Definitely will come back. Thanks for the garlic fried rice!
Realized arriving at 12:30 pm to see a full house. Alvin the owner attended to us. Given time to view menu. Wide selection to decide. Selected 2 items being savory Lomi & ube pancake & a large regular coffee which all turned out to be fully satisfying. Bill was close to $40. 1st time visit as recommended by my friends. No regrets at all. A trial will convince you. Parking: Lunch time lots full but free street parking is stoll available
Lunch time visit turns out to be a full house across & youll have to be contented to be sitting inside the tent outside the building,, food ordering refer to menu once decided return to front counter next to the kitchen to order your pick. Free iced cold water avaliable inside the tent. Under 10 minutes our foid order was served. Lomi, beef tapsilog & a cold beer. An excellent choice I say. Parking: Use street parking in the worst scenario
Tried crispy kare-kare, egg benedict and halo-halo, they re one of the best! Serving was way too much than expected, the price is all worth it. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again.
Ah mazing! Loved Ben s Best Pork Sisig. So rich and delicious! The deserts were so good too. We tried almost everything and it was all great!
The halo halo is a MUST TRY. Such a fun drink and they nailed it with all the add ins. The textures were so fun. Every single dish we ve tried there is absolutely delicious, especially the limpid and the pork Kare kare. We also really loved the Pork Sisig, so good!
The food is very good. Everyone smiles and you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Thank you for the delicious dinner. To repeat.
Delicious food everyone is accomodating and friendly. Comfort food from away from home.
Ordered dish platters for a Thanksgiving party/ bday party. The food was delivered on time and as promised deliciousness overload;) Keep it up Benjamins Cafe team! GB
New Philipino restaurant in town
The Lomi was so tasty, we came back twice to eat it again the next day. We will be trying other items on the menu next time :)
If you have not eaten here you are missing out! Such good food.
Lovely family-owned Phillipine cafe. Lots of Philippine baked goods along with traditional baking. I had the crispy pork belly, the portions are generous. Glad to have this place in my neighborhood.
The food is good and the service
The best filipino restaurant in town! Ive been craving filipino foods since we visited BC (were from New Brunswick & we dont have any filipino restaurants there). The staffs and employees were very welcoming and nice. They have great customer service and the food servings are big. Im glad my cousin and friend and I discovered this place!! I will surely come back 10/10 for sure.
Excellent restaurant! Pleasant atmosphere, staff super friendly, food consistently fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. They cater to personal preferences (e.g. will make a dish vegetarian) and are generous, both with welcome and with portions. Great place, great food & coffee, highly recommended. Vegetarian options: They adjust dishes to be vegetarian. Thank you!
They have a good Filipino food
Its amazing that in almost 2024 a place can have such a big menu and not a single thing on it doesnt contain meat. Absolutely wild
The thing that put me off this place was the fridge in the dining area. It was so loud any effort to make a nice atmosphere was shot. Food was good, but it s supposed to be restaurant grade, right? Nothing special and mine was far from hot.
Absolutely delish!! We ordered the pork belly (hot, crispy, salty!), the chicken adobo (nicely spicy), the lumpia (great ratio of pork and veg), and beef tapsilog (wonderfully simple and flavourful). We finished off lunch with a lychee flan which was to die for! Will absolutely order again and again.
Really good foods
