Awesome food, great service and the price is reasonable! Definitely recommend.

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. I placed a takeout order for two items and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes, but it took a frustrating 1.5 hours. To make matters worse, the staff member I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and unwilling to accept their mistake. She dismissed my concerns and was unprofessional throughout the interaction. This experience highlights a serious lack of customer service skills. I wouldn t recommend this place based on their poor service and disrespectful attitude.

I sometimes visited them during lunch, but yesterday, when I came, I saw renovations with no information about it. However, the Open sign was on, though inside it was a mess.

We ordered takeout. It took an hour, and then was cold when we got it. Food was average, service below average.

A few years ago I had posted a positive review. Food and service were great, been to them for take out and brought friends for dinner as a group. That was then, 2days ago it was a totally different experience. Take out chicken tikka a totally dry, tough and partially burnt clearly reheated an old order. Wasted meal. When I called them the manager was unavailable. The lady taking my call took my details and said he Would call back . No call back in past 48 hours. Sad but we will not be patronizing this restaurant after all these years of supporting them.

First thing we noticed when we walked in was how clean and bright everything was. Seated by a very nice young man with a great smile. The waitress was just as charming and gave helpful advice to Indian cuisine newbies. We both had the lamb vindaloo with rice and naan bread, followed by carrot pudding (fantastic). Super food, great friendly service at a very reasonable price. Thank you so much for a great dining experience. Heartily recommend the Oak Bay Tandoori Flavour to anyone. Added bonus - Washroom were spotless.

we went there tonight for birthday dinner and their service was not as good as we expected. overall food was okay some of my friends ordered lassi and it was way too salty. when we complained about it, the lady at counter was so rude and said she can t do anything about it as she didn t have enough material it was my go to restaurant but i don t think i m going to recommend this place for anyone to come here

Waitress behaviour is so rude she doesn t know how to respond and deal with customers she made lassi with high salt we can t able to drink that when we ask for change she speak with loud noise and say how can I do that. We don t like that behaviour.

Food was average but the server s way of talking and dealing with the situation was totally unprofessional and nonsense. We ordered Salty Lassi with our main course and Lassi tasted like a tonne of salt put in a glass of water. I mean that s okay, things get messed up sometimes but when we informed the server about that, what she replied was, actually we were out of sweet cream that s why the Lassi was too salty. Like seriously, why the hell would you make something if you are out of ingredients. We ordered six glasses of that Lassi and we hardly had a single sip from those. It was a total waste of money, time, and a good vibe that we expect to have during an Eat out. Last but not least, she never apologized for her mistake neither she realized her behaviour.

Never coming to this restaurant again in my life It was my go to restaurant and I was really disappointed tonight as we ordered salted Lassi and it was way too salty, me and my friends werent able to drink it. When we complained about it, the lady who was serving us, her response was really rude and she said they didnt have enough material to do anything about it, and we ended up paying for EXTRA SALTED LASSI !!!!!

My friend recommended this restaurant as I love authentic Indian foods. I tried the goat curry and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavours happening in this dish. My hats off to Chef. Will be returning to try more dishes.

Lol, you guys charged me $10 for 8 paneer pakoras. I opened the box and saw 4 paneer pakoras cut in half. What a theft! I ate in a lot of Indian restaurants and you guys must be a disgrace for your culture. I would understand the price if your food was unforgettable, but boy, it tastes like you bought a sauce in a can in Walmart and heated it up. Highly suggest to everyone to look for another Indian restaurant. You might pay less, and get better quality and quantity. This is the worst $40 I ever spent. Tandoori is a joke.

Just a bit disappointed ordered 5 various items for pick up paid $70 Smaller portions food wasn t that good lacked flavour and spice. I ve had better in Victoria I prefer Royal Spice for consistency of food and quality. I m really disappointed as a friend had recommended me here. It wasn t that bad but it wasn t that good either. Won t be back ever again: sorry. I called them after and there was no effort to fix the issues. Kinda disappointed should have offered a discount or a rebate.it was a roll of the dice. and I lost. We ordered chicken fried rice today through uber eats. But they cheated us by sending veg briyani with chicken pieces. I have never seen big potatos , cauliflower in fried rice. We will never order again from here.

This is our go-to lunch spot for their delicious lunch buffet. There are always gluten free and dairy free options, and everything is fresh and flavorful. The service is also efficient and friendly, and theyre always happy to cater to your needs (in our case, we wanted no butter on the naan). Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing place to enjoy lunch!

Really enjoyed my quick dinner at Tandoori Flavour Oak Bay tonight. Just ordered a simple Chicken Tikka Masala with Basil Naan and it was very tasty. I ordered Medium and was just spicy enough. Portion was generous for one. Staff was friendly. Food arrived quickly. I recommend.

I came to this place for the first time with my friends (group of 10) because I heard that the food over here is so delicious. Unfortunately, the service was not good. we order at 12 and got our food between 1 and 1:15. Even, the onion stuffed prantha was spelling so bad and tasted bitter. Though salted lassi was good.

The weekday buffet for $20. includes chai tea and dessert is very good value.

We ordered for the first time to pick up for Christmas dinner. The food was awesome...loved all of it. We ordered Butter Chicken, Palak Chicken, Garlic and Basil Naan, and the fresh Vegetable Biryani. Big chucks of chicken in the meals, lots of fresh vegetables in the rice. Surprised to find this lovely Indian Restaurant. The servers were very prompt and know the dishes. Even with a tomato allergy, I easily found my way through the menu. Samosas were yummy and not overly spicy! Pucture is the Mango Laasi! yummy and the chai was so creamy and served hot! They have a small buffet and are wheelchair assessable with a large ladies washroom. You walk into this restaurant and there is a delicate fragrance that is appealing.. not hot curry but a soft aroma. You must try Fresh Tadoori and share your thoughts! Enjoy!! This is our favourite Indian restaurant in Victoria. Great food, lovely people. The food always arrives hot & everything is delicious. Their paneer always tastes particularly fresh. Highly recommend! Vegetarian options: So many great options, fantastic aloo gobi, lots of paneer dishes available.

Ordered lamb vindaloo and prawn curry and was extremely oily. Containers were covered in oil and all proteins were super over cooked. Also the lamb vindaloo didn t even taste like lamb almost seemed like they used beef chuck. Really disappointing as first time trying this place for take-out. Won t try again.

We went to this restaurant almost at random. We were just looking for any Indian restaurant with outdoor seating, and this fit the bill. As it turned out, this was the best Indian restaurant we had been to for many years. When judging an Indian restaurant, I use two criteria: One, does the food taste good, and two, does the food taste like I remember eating in India. This restaurant scores on both counts. Three dishes that are almost always good at almost any Indian restaurant, but almost never like I really want them to taste, are palak paneer, eggplant Bharat, and plain sweet lassie. Amazing. Their eggplant bharta was the first I have had in north America that tasted right. Same for the sweet lassi. I dont know if they have access to water buffalo milk, but something made it perfect. Five stars for the palak paneer too.

We were a party of 4, they completely forgot one of our party s order, by the time this was sorted 3 of us had almost finished our meal, they didn t offer to comp the order they forgot! Food was pretty average.

Friendly, welcomed me in with only 30 minutes to close, whereas one trendy local restaurant nearby turned me away to close their kitchen almost 2 hours early even though their restaurant was 75% full. Here at Fresh Tandoori, my drink was served immediately, food came out very fast, hot, delicious, good portions. Staff were courteous and attentive even though they were busy with other tables and had several food delivery drivers pick up in the 20 minutes I was there. Good meal, thanks!

Who knew such authentic wonderful Indian cuisine existed in Oak Bay! Drove by many times and tonight went in for dinner. So impressed with the kind service and exceptional food. Will be back as a regular.

This place is amazing. I ve travelled in India, and the food here is some of the best I ve had. I got the Lamb Korma, very rich sauce unreal flavour. Naan was PERFECT. Get the chai. Will be back without a doubt.

Had the pleasure of sampling Fresh Tandoori cuisine during a special event at the St. Annes Academy. Very delicious and fantastic blend of spices used (not overpowering). Food vending, service and overall offsite management top-notch. Special thanks to Sunny for his generosity in serving the extra portion and welcoming atmosphere.

I always order fresh from here , its always great in taste amazing cold beet root and orange juice and i pretty much like their goat curry as well . Front house staff is very nice and friendly. They always serve food with a nice lil smile

At 10:55, I gave the restaurant a call. However, the staff member (Preet) refused to accept a pre-order as she said we are close , which she rudely responded. I went to the restaurant to pick up my food, and when i give my food order, she began to argue that she had already told me over the phone that the restaurant was close and the time was 10:58. When I placed my order after two minutes, she became irritated with me again for no apparent reason and said, eda dea te menu bohat gussa andaa eh (in Punjabi). I felt terrible since I had never experienced this type of disrespect. (She revealed that her name is Preet.) On Friday, September 8th.

Parking: Lucky to have such a great quality and value restaurant in this neighbourhood. Hope the local community supports it - You won t get any better East Indian Cuisine anywhere in South Island. Delicious food at a fair price where so many other places rip you off. Staff are wonderful - Management should be proud of their team. Lots to choose from the menu with good portions. 9/10 - No complaints.

We ordered tandoori lamb. It wasn t edible at all. I hope they improve the quality.

Weve been ordering from here ever since they opened, and it was amazing at first. Unfortunately, after too many issues, we just cant continue. The first issue was when the chicken in the butter chicken was inedible. We figured it was a one-time issue (these things happen) but what really stuck with us was the owner s response implying we were working with their competition and that they needed proof of the food to confirm we had really eaten there. The second issue we encountered was with their delivery driver. With all food deliveries, I wait in our building s lobby, because I know how important a delivery driver s time is. While waiting in the lobby, the delivery driver arrived in his SUV, parked on the street (forcing traffic to have to drive around him), and called to tell me he was there. I said I saw him and I figured I could meet him halfway. He didn t even leave his vehicle. He rolled down the passenger window and, without even looking at me, held up the bag so that I had to lean into his vehicle to retrieve it. I thanked him, but he said absolutely nothing, just kept looking at his phone. Then he drove away. It was such a bizarre experience. The third and final issue was when we ordered another delivery. We selected Delivery, selected our address, selected ASAP and placed our order. I went down to the lobby at the time they said it would be delivered and waited for 40 minutes until they called and asked when I was going to come pick up the food. I explained that we chose delivery, but it seemed their system malfunctioned and it came through as pick up. Not such a big deal, although we were starving at this point. I asked if they could deliver it, but she refused because we hadn t paid the delivery charge. She just kept telling me I didn t place it for delivery (I know I did) and wouldn t even apologize for the error. When I arrived to pick it up, I spoke with the manager about it and was STILL told it my fault somehow. I just wanted an apology. I ve worked in restaurants before and we bent over backward for our guests. In conclusion, the food is still pretty good (has dipped in quality a little in recent months, but still good), but it s the lack of customer service that s driven us away. Edit (response to owner): Sorry for not saying so in the first place, but the delivery when the driver didnt leave their vehicle was several months ago, long before the snow. I hope youve just confused my experience with anothers experience and not simply made it up. As for the issue with the third party system, yet again youre making excuses. In my experience in the industry, we went out of our way for our customers. You should have offered to deliver, thats it. The defensiveness and lazy justifications within your response only solidifies the lack of customer service.

Food was ok and the medium curries we had were blander then a typical mild. Maybe it was just a bad day, but its a hard pass.

Obviously I should have read the reviews before ordering. We had a take out order yesterday. Enjoyed the pakoras and the aloo gobi was ok, but the butter chicken was not good. Very acidic and the chicken was so tough and dry I could not eat it. One reviewer mentioned campbells soup and that is exactly what it tasted like. Also disappointed that everything came in plastic and styrofoam (I forgot to ask when I ordered) so we will not be ordering there again. An effort should be made to provided compostable containers.

Update: Since our last review below, we have now been there an additional four times. The food at the buffet section was really tasty, the price is very reasonable and excellent value, the bistro is quite quiet and the staff are pleasant. We really look forward to each visit. This a great place to treat friends and relatives. My wife and I have eaten here twice this year. We really enjoyed the lunch buffet. All dishes were good, but especially the butter chicken, curry beef and mango mousse. Staff were friendly. Seating and privacy were fine. This buffet meal is one of the best we have experienced in Victoria. We highly recommend the Oak Bay location and we look forward to returning again, with only a five minute walk away.

They use styrofoam to package foods. Styrofoam makes me feel like an awful person because I have to throw that out or, personally, find a way to recycle it. That s a terrible responsibility that could 100% be avoided. Food was not my favourite in Victoria but decent enough if you re in the area.

My family loves Malai kofta and Manchuria. We ordered again yesterday but both items were undercooked. It was not crispy. Felt like we were eating dough. This is the 2nd time with the same issue. Once when it happened at dine in,it was replaced. But yesterday for take out it was the same problem and we ended up eating gravy and threw the doughy kofta and Manchuria.

We arrived and the place was empty, not a good sign for me. We were shown to a table and given menus. As usual, my wife asked many questions and received favorable answers. We ordered an Indian salad to share, tandoori chicken, tandoori lamb, and a side of vegetables. Each tandoori dish included a side of rice. One rice would have been enough for both of us. The Indian salad was great. Such a simple salad was so tasty, due to the spices and fresh vegetables. It was enough for us to share. My lamb was excellent. I ordered it medium spiciness and it seemed mild to my American taste buds. The salad was hotter. My wife enjoyed her tandoori chicken and cauliflower vegetable side and all the portions were generous size. The ambience was fine. The restaurant is bright and airy. They have covered outdoor seating. The only thing that took away from the dining experience was the cheap flatware with a bent fork tine. Other than that, it was a great meal with great service.

The worst Indian restaurant in town. Me and two my friends went here for dinner we ordered two curries and some parathas. The parathas were ok but the curries we not good. Also we paid around 17 for each curries and the portion size was too small for the price. The service was also bad we had to go to the cashier to let them know we are ready for the order and to get some more water. The funny thing is restaurant was not busy at all at that time only 3 tables including us. I will never visit this place again and wont recommend this place. Simply put its a waste of time and money.

Really good food. I recommend the fish malabar and naan bread. Needs to be spicier, however. We ordered medium hot and it was mild. Our friends ordered very spicey but it was also not hot. Not even medium hot, in my experience.

First visit to Fresh Tandoori Flavour in Oak Bay was a real success. Comfortable seating, a menu with a wide selection, excellent, friendly service, and outstanding food from appetizers to main course to dessert.This was the first of many visits to come.

Visited with family last week and ordered Shahi Paneer and Butter panner. Both dishes tastes awful and had smell of preservatives from them. Butter paneer was quite similar to the one we get at Walmart.

BEST INDIAN FOOD EVER!!!!!!!! I have always had experiences for foods with too much pools of grease or spice in a lot of South asian restaurants, but here....... I WAS SHOOKETH!!! You got the perfect amount of spice, variety in flavor and dont get me started on their lamb and cashew sauce. So worth the price point too- we have enough leftovers for tomorrow! Their desserts are absolutely heavenly, filling and light. Id 100% recommend anyone to go here, especially first timers or to prove people like me....that Tandoori food rocks!

We picked up. Easy to order and food was ready and hot. I chose medium spicy, DH chose mild. We were both happy with our choices. The Sag Paneer had lots of cheese. The potato cake appetizer would be a good lunch for two. Freshly made naan. And we loved the basmati rice.

I came here with a friend over vacation as many people had recommended both of us to check it out and it was honestly the best decision ever to try this place out. They have excellent service and the food is amazing! I ordered the Malai tikka, palak paneer, paneer naan and rasmalai gulaab jamun. Everything tasted exquisite and tasted of the flavors of Punjab. The food was well plated as well, perfect for those Instagram stories and posts for all the foodies to view! Besides the dishes that I ordered, their menu is very diverse yet traditional in terms of all kinds of enjoyable Punjabi food. It really reminds of you a 5-star Dhaba in Punjab, but still including the westernized touch to it. Ill definitely be coming back to this place whenever I visit again, and exploring the rest of the menu.

First of all, the food was good. But... I am giving a 3* raring because we ordered 3 dishes for take out, and got only two. They offered to make the third dish when I was paying the bill but after waiting outside for a while for the first portion, I didnt have the patience to wait an extra 15 minutes for the third dish.

I liked the place and the staff. They offer delicious Indian dishes with a reasonable price. The staff is polite and professional. I recommend visiting this restaurant. I will definitely visit and try new dishes .

Wonderful dining experience! We LOVED the food, the patio and the friendly service! We are so happy to finally have a great Indian restaurant within walking distance of our home. Well be back soon!

We have eaten at this restaurant four times including today at lunch. The service is friendly and courteous. The food is alway excellent and less rich than most Indian restaurants. We like the fact that we come away satisfied and not feeling over full like some Indian restaurants we have been to. We highly recommend this neighborhood spot for your Indian food fix. Make it a regular place to enjoy. We do.

Weve ordered from here a few times but always ordered the vegetarian dishes and they were SO GOOD. But just today we ordered again but this time I ordered 2 chicken dishes combined with the usual vegetarian dishes. Im sad to say something seemed wrong with the chicken? I think its the worst Ive ever had from a restaurant (and I eat out a LOT). It was so dry and had so much gristle which is crazy considering it was butter chicken which is usually so tender? It tastes like it was cooked, then frozen (possibly freezer burnt), cooked again and thrown into whatever dish was ordered. The only time Ive had chicken this dry was when it was in the fridge for days. So my review is: Their vegetarian food is good, but dont order the chicken. Pretty sure I wasted $40 today cause I dont want to call and complain based on a previous reviewer who had food poisoning and they required proof they didnt eat the meal. I shouldnt have to drive over there with my chicken to show them that it was bad. However they are cooking or storing the chicken should be changed. [EDIT (In response to the restaurants reply): I would check to make sure none of your cooks are overcooking the meat? I was surprised too because butter chicken is normally not dry at all. Ill try it again in the restaurant when the pandemic is over. If its better Ill change the review.

I am basing my review solely off of the butter chicken. The chicken was over cooked to the point where you could barely chew it. The curry had zero flavour or spice even though I had asked for medium. It literally tasted like tomato soup. They are probably using the same curry base most Indian restaurants use here in Victoria, which is disappointing because I was finally hoping to try some authentic Indian food. I feel like for the quality off food I was served it is not worth $17.50, although it is Oak Bay and they can get away with it. Staff was nice :)

Amazing food. It s always delicious and fresh. Super friendly staff. The staff does an amazing job of describing anything on the menu and the ambiance is very cool. Can t wait to come back! Highly recommended

Delicious food with a great outdoor patio. This restaurant has a great selection of food, both meat and vegetarian options. The hot plates come out sizzling and the place has a great vibe. I highly recommend the freshly squeezed juice!!

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special soy champ and street food after very long time, couldnt find anywhere else in town. Highly recommended :)

We went fresh tandoori flavour for dinner tonight. Superb service. Fresh and delicious juice. They had a summer street food very . I will recommend everyone to try it out . You will love it.

Ive tried just about every Indian restaurant in Victoria and I can safely say that this one is my new favorite. The buffet is terrific value and is always delicious. There are tons of options if you decide to order a-la cart and the service is always top notch. Other Indian restaurants are good sometimes, but this one is CONSISTENTLY GOOD and is not terribly oily and greasy like some other places.

This is a lovely, clean atmosphere, great food and nice staff. They have the best naan in town, and a delicious buffet.

First time and pretty pleased. Good portion sizes, lots of lamb in my Biryani. Friends enjoy their shrimp and beef dishes as well. Quick service, pleasant decor. Has outside seating. Lots of specialty juices on the menu and one serious ginormous juicer. Will try again only criticism is I do not like preset tip amount to start with...to add descriptions under the percentages is absolute overkill and I would argue may well work against the intent . My whole table found this overly invasive and frankly crass.

Worst experience ever. Waitress was rude. Waited 30 mins for food and later she made excuses that we had cancelled the order. Terrible customer service. Will never be back again.

We ve ordered from Fresh Tandoori twice previously and really enjoyed our meals. This time however, the rice pudding was liquid (just like pouring milk), the chicken in both the tikka and butter was overcooked and the naan was so chewy it was almost impossible to eat. Very unlike our other meals and disappointing. We want to really like this place as it s newer, but definitely needs consistency in quality.

Favorite spot for Punjabi food

Me and my mother waited one hour for 3 dishes we ordered and received only one. There were several people that arrived after we did that all received better service and their food while we sat waiting for ours. When it hit the hour mark we asked one of the servers when our food would arrive and that we had places to go. She said just 5 more minutes. In those 5 minutes that we waited, more people that arrived after us were receiving their food before we got our order. Overall not a great experience.

Its been a long time since Ive had a day off, so I came here to relax. It was spacious, the customers and staff were kind, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch buffet. I will come again

Worst experience ever.. you are full service restaurant. Ur server should have some patience to serve customers. Good was literally garbage.. my $100 plus bill is just awful experience. Never coming back nor recommending anybody.

Overcooked and sweet butter chicken.. The buffet is made like even if you eat less you feel full dont want to get into details. And the buffet doesnt have a desert option.

Butter chicken was horrible! Tomato soup sauce .rice pudding, bland paste 1 order of samosas (2 pieces), only came with one ..I ll never go back

Ordered the coconut chicken and two sides to share between two people. Super delicious food and very friendly service! It wasnt too expensive either, and we both came in very hungry and left feeling well satisfied by the food. Highly recommend :)

After enjoying many Indian restaurants over the years in Victoria and elsewhere, Fresh Tandoori is by far my favorite. It is authentic Indian food made with quality ingredients and no cut corners. If you are passionate about Indian food dont cheap out. This is food made with the love of their culture and tradition and the difference is noticeable. Hint: Fresh Tandooris mild is authentic Indian mild, not Canadian mild and its delicious.

As others have written the butter chicken is bad. Really bad and 17$ and tastes like a can of Campbells Tomato Soup. Spice Valley in vic west from here on out.

One of the best food I ever had tried in fresh tandoori They have amazing pricing and great atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and seemed like they really liked working there. We came with a big group and were very pleased we didnt have to wait forever for our food to come. Im super happy I learned about this place and my friends and I visit every time we come to Victoria.

I m reluctant to even give one star. I m flabbergasted that this restaurant has any positive reviews. The service was so terrible. Our food arrived without the rice & then we waited a long time for it. The butter chicken tasted like Campbell s tomato soup. After we finished eating we waited about half an hour for them to clear the table & ask if we needed anything. And there were only 2 tables to help! 5-6 employees standing in a group talking while we waited & waited & waited. We will never go back.

Excellent service - friendly, courteous and done with a smile. Food is top notch - full of flavor with so many spices. Great location in Oak Bay. If you are in the area and want Indian food, this is the place to go.
