The experience was very bad. It was my first time there. The environment of other guests was too loud, unbearable. Requested the server to do something about it. But nothing was done. It was very loud. Couldnt hear my friends voice sitting exactly opposite to me. Food was average too. Had to get out of the restaurant immediately after trying appetizers. Didnt reach even until the main course. Poor experience. Not going back there again unfortunately. Had high hopes.

We went there by seeing 4.6 Google rating . I felt that Google rating did not justify the actual experience there . Unfortunately , Atmosphere was very loud like a bar and food was also not good . We had a very bad experience there. Would not recommend this

We were visiting from out of town and luckily found this wonderful restaurant. Our three course meal was full of flavor, fresh ingredients and just the right amount of spice - we requested 1 star. Highly recommend.

First time today I tried Aloo tikki chart, it was super delicious, I really liked it..! Just put some onion and some yogurt on top of it..! Otherwise the taste is so so good..! Thankyou so much

My cousins and I went to Victoria for the first time for thanksgiving long weekend. After reading all those good reviews, we decided to eat here. The worst service I have ever received. We entered the restaurant and no one came to us for few minutes. We got seated, no greeting by the server which was extremely rude! Here comes the food; Chaap was dry, Imagine eating soya with just turmeric on it. No one even came once to check on us if we needed anything else. I wanted to order more but Paneer Chilli was like a fusion of Shahi Paneer & Paneer Butter Masala which was weird again. Then we called a server for payment, he came to our table, handed me the bill, put the debit machine on a table and walked away! I don t think they care about their customers. I would have given a 0 star rating if there was an option. THE WORST EVER EXPERIENCE. Not recommended at all !

Saw the Google reviews and went there, pathetic smell when we entered, the food was below average. The service was 6/10, because there was only 1 girl working (she was good tho) but the food ruined our day and so our trip. Go there if you don t care about the taste.

Mr. Baliram at Indian Aroma provided outstanding service that made our dining experience truly special. His excellent menu recommendations, especially the Malai Methi Matar Sabji, were spot on. The dish was one of the best we ve had, and the overall experience at the restaurant was fantastic. We ll definitely be back!

Quality of food is so good

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this service. The prawn biryani was incredibly underwhelming and failed to meet even the lowest expectations in terms of taste.

Visited this restaurant during our visit to Chinatown. Amazing service, good(and quick) food and a pleasing ambience with devotional songs were playing in the background. This isnt the usual bells and whistles neither isnt the most modern/updated in the area but is on point when it comes to food! I attended a birthday event of my friends daughter at Indian Aroma a few weeks ago and was impressed by the taste of their vegetarian food. Today, while working near the restaurant, I decided to order their Veg Biryani. I called ahead, picked it up in 15 minutes, and am writing this review while enjoying it. Their food is among the best I have had in Victoria Downtown. Thank you for delivering an authentic taste of India

Combo Dinner for four was a scam. Was not enough for 2. Waiter could not make it clear how much food would come. The response was, I dont know how much you eat. Ordered extra Biryani- no flavor. Samosa wa nice though.

Excellent indian food in

The total bill was 16$ including all taxes but it said on machine 18$ and we didn t see the bill and we got scammed NEVER GO TO THAT RESTAURANT , IF YOU WANT TO EAT INDIAN FOOD, GO TO OTHER INDIAN RESTAURANTS, WHICH ARE NEARBY AND DO NOT PRESENT WRONG.

The food is delicious. My family (beside me) has not tried much Indian food before but they all like it. Adjust the price as needed but rice should just come with the food. Also portion is a little small (maybe it is just a Canada standard?). Overall, we like it and can see we eat here again.

Consistently excellent. Ive been going for lunch about once a week for over a year or two. All the vegetarian curries are excellent. Value is also very good with take out curry and rice available for about $12-13 and its more than enough food. Decor inside leaves a bit to be desired but service is prompt and friendly. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Half the menu is vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: Family friendly place. Wheelchair accessibility: Street level access, no stairs.

Very happy we walked by Indian Aroma today on our walk. I took a photo of the restaurant and later, after checking the reviews, decided to give it a try. Really glad I did. Delicious naan, perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken tandoori and excellent goat biryani.

We are on vacation here.Found this restaurant online.Very very good food.The Palak kofta curry and Daal tadaka was delicious.Their laccha paratha and Tandoori roti were hot,frash and Krispy.Their salty lassi was very delicious too. I recently dined here, and it was a great experience. The naan was incredibly soft and flavorful, while the lamb biryani was outstanding and perfectly spiced rice made for a truly delicious meal. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves authentic Indian food! Great Food

Garlic nan

The restaurant food needs serious improvement. We ordered Paneer Chilly and it was really tangy. Once we asked the server for a change we were provided with Paneer Pakoda which was alright. Overall the entire food was really tangy and had a prominent taste of tomatoes. I have been working with the Hospitality industry for more than 3 years now and I would suggest the restaurant to have serious change in the menu or at least a change of the curry bases.

Worst service! The staff cancelled the spring rolls that i ordered and sent us pakoras instead without letting us know. We recieved the doordash order with receipt where we were charged for spring roll instead. We know sometimes things dont go your way and you might be out of stock but atleast let the customer know who is waiting at home for the food they ordered.

After my first visit to the lunch buffet few years ago when they were brand new to Vic, I was left rather underwhelmed. The spices were starkly toned down to cater to local needs, it almost didnt feel like Indian food. Over the years Ive ordered from this place a couple of times and all the times, even though the flavours werent as bold as Id like , there were a few positives that stood out. Love the portion sizes, the subtle yet convincing (good) flavours and most important of all...consistency - just five stars for that.

2024-07 : I was visiting from GTA to meet family visiting from US to celebrate a birthday (4adults & 2 kids). This was the wrong restaurant to go. The chicken was not properly cooked. The vegetarian courses were good, but greasy as most restaurant food go. We had a sizzler soya chap - edible, decent quantity & good chutneys but I had better at other places. Samosa was greasy, but that is to be expected. I liked the Naans the best from all the food we had. Finally, they charged us for each to-go box. Not a place I would visit again or recommend. What was supposed to be a Memorable evening got ruined. We used the curb side public parking. We did not face problems parking, but no guarantees of that.

Worst experience ever in Victoria, the servant and the chief has zero hospitality or professionalism. They served us old tea and really bad food. They told us they won t accept only tea they forced us to order snacks or else get off from the rabble and wait outside . When we told them that the tea was made hours ago and it s not fresh, the chef from the kitchen screamed saying it s not hours ago it s years ago !! And the servant laughed on it . They thought we are whites and we won t understand anything. They are racist . Worst experience. Would never come back to this place ever. Wearing gym cloths in hospitality job? Like what are u eve severing? The owner should really need to work on their team . Service is 0.

Not what I expected of the food from this restaurant with a group order. The rice smelt and tasted like it was going bad. And where is the curry taste and smell? Not found. It could have been better. Naan bread , good.

While I appreciate the effort put into the preparation of the chole bhature, I must admit that the experience fell slightly short of expectations. The chole lacked a bit of depth in terms of spices, which I believe could elevate the dish to new heights. Additionally, the portion size of the bhature was smaller than anticipated, though I understand that sizes can vary. Furthermore, I found the ambiance to be a tad outdated. However, the staff was courteous, and the atmosphere was pleasant overall. I hope this feedback helps in further enhancing the dining experience for future patrons.

We were visiting Victoria from Toronto, randomly we found this restaurant, this is one of the best place to have Indian food. We ordered Samosa Chat which is literally best samosa chat in Canada. We literally tried from many places but this one taste the best, other than this we also ordered 1 veg thali and 1 non veg thali which was also so yummy, Definitely recommending to order these items. so yummy. Last but not the least, the staff was also so friendly and service was amazing. Do try this restaurant if visiting Victoria.

Affordable spot for decent Indian food. Service was sub-par and I was the only one dining in at the time, so not much to say about the atmosphere. Food was okay, I found the curry base to be excessively salty. Overall a good spot.

Disgusting food . Went for dinner today , firstly when entered nobody was there at front to attend the customer and a lady came up , we had a seat . We ordered goblin garlic and dal makhni with tandoori roti. Customer service was cheap because nobody gave us plates ,utensils and tissue. We got our appetizer which smells like too much reheated oil. After reaching that we waited for 5 mins for plates at the end I had to ask for it. She was busy setting other empty tables. Dal Makhani was tasteless. Only the tandoori roti was good . We haven t finished any food because of their poor customer service and low rated food .

UNBELIEVABLE! We were visiting from Seattle and decided to give Indian Aroma a try after seeing their high reviews. It was simply phenomenal. The portions were very good, the food was very fresh, spicy and authentic and served really quick too. Bali provided us with great customer service and was very nice. We had tried a few Indian restaurants in Seattle, and even 1 in Victoria, and none of them come close to this. Hope to be back.
