Sizzling Tandoor Westshore in Victoria

Food was exceptional. Needs some updating in the eating area and the bathrooms but the food and the servers were wonderful. Kid-friendliness: Casual place 1 small child in a stroller. Room for strollers etc.

Ordered via UberEats and received overcooked/burnt chicken. Normally I would order from Johnson or Uptown locations, which have always been fantastic. UberEats wouldnt provide a refund for the quality issue -- wont be returning.

My teenage daughter wanted takeout from one her favourite restaurants for her birthday dinner so asked for her go to dishes: butter chicken, veggie pakoras and potato naan. The dishes were hot, fresh, tasty and perfectly spiced - we also ordered a tarka daal and it was fabulous. The staff there are very friendly and poured me a cold drink as I waited for them to assemble my order. Would recommend this place for takeout or eat-in and will be back again soon. Kid-friendliness: My teenage daughters just love the food here - mild spice will suit all palates.

They catered a friends wedding recently with four different events. Each event had a unique menu from a different part of India and each one was executed to perfection. The owners are wonderful folk who went over and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. They provided phenomenal service and food of utmost quality. Cant wait till Im in town next time to try the set menu food and cocktails!

We absolutely love a good curry, which these guys have for sure! Unfortunately they say rice is included with curries (definitely reflected in price $$) and then send the rice in gravy cups! The portion of rice we recieved was almost comical, I would have laughed but I was hungry so it was really not funny. I wouldnt order from here again its too expensive for what you get, Ill go somewhere else for curry next time. Oh and we ordered in because it was my brothers birthday, and we were surprising him with his fav. Total bust! Update: I have enjoyed curry from a multitude of fair priced restaurants offering authentic Indian cuisine. The prices were fair and included a proper portion of rice, also I make my own curry at home regularly. PS to the owner I dont eat burgers, nor do I appreciate the assumption that I dont know what goes into making a curry. Have a lovely day!

Absolutely fantastic. We were in Victoria for our friends wedding and Sizzling Tandoor provided the catering for all the events with their food truck. You can tell even before tasting the food that it is a step up from your regular Indian wedding fare. We were impressed with the range of items- Sizzling Tandoor masters everything from North to South Indian cuisine. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS, from the fresh bhaturas to the idlis to the kathi rolls to the fusion pasta. They can do everything from innovative street food to the classics like mattar paneer and daal makhni. They also put a lot of care and attention into ensuring everything is perfect, from the presentation to the food temperature. These are the characteristics one wants in a food caterer for special events like a wedding week. Sizzling Tandoor is a class of its own for Indian caterers. I would highly recommend Sizzling Tandoor for your next event if you are in the Victoria, BC area.

18 dollars plus tax and tip for this tiny little bowl of lentils? What a joke. You can find a restaurant nearby where you get more than double the Dahl for 4 dollars cheaper. Ripoff, won t be eating here again. Response to owner: a 16oz bowl of lentils isn t worth $20. The tastes of the economical (condescending, btw) option were certainly on par with your recipe. I ve had good Dahl in India for 25c.

Had family over for a birthday celebration and decided to try something different, since we always get pizza. Huge hit!! Everyone loved the food. The taste was delicious and portions were above expectations. The service was friendly and on time. Definitely coming back!!

This place is Amazing! I love their food!! The buffet is so good! Best to go when the first open! Best butter chicken and Mattar paneer!!! Also there breads are so good! Always fresh. I ordered Gobi Manchurian and Onion Cilantro Naan for delivery. Both items were so undercooked that I had to throw my food in garbage. Both, food and money wasted.

Food excellent quality and service was friendly. Restaurant was quite empty and lacking atmosphere. Suspect it has yet to recover properly from Pandemic slowdown. Recommended for nice authentic Indian food experience.

The staff that took care of me was skillful at his job. I had the Okra Masala and it was vary good.

I order tandoori shrimp hot and to make it hot they just put more red chilli powder on it. It was nothing but an undercooked red chilli power tasted shrimp. Then I called them to replace my food but they denied. I spent $32 for just this food. Upset about their service towards their customer. You can clearly see red chilli powder in picture.

Honestly the food is good. Although I can t help but feel shortchanged when i drop 70 dollars on food and end up with a miniature serving of rice and no naan included. Turmeric gives quadruple the rice two curries and naan for 22 dollars.

Love the food but unfortunately it s become too expensive to come in as a single person to get one curry - with taxes, tip and sub whole wheat roti comes out to about $28-$30. The best food in Victoria. Period. Dal Makhani and paneer tikka masala was the best. Loved the paneer naans and seriously the garlic basil naans are simply the best in Canada. Nice owners, they come and talk to you and help you with recommendations. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! Perfect service! Vegetarian options: We are vegetarian they had the best options.

Food was pretty good, the server was also very polite and made sure that we weren t missing anything (don t remember his name but we went at around 8 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023). The food was out quickly and it wasn t that expensive (at least to me). The lighting and the music were all excellent and set an amazing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and come here again. Sizzling tandoor have always been one of my Indian cuisine choice. What is amazing is the service by Anu. I have been to this location multiple times this week and her smile and attention to details have been my reason to come back to this specific location. Yesturday I saw her working alone and taking care of the full resturant yet ever single time I needed something she was avaliable. She has great knowledge of the menu and drinks. Perfect customer service she derserves a raise! 10/10. I will be emailing the owner about my experience as well.

We were to this place today evening and we ordered chole bature. The service was awesome and the food was very very tasty. The waitress Anu was absolutely awesome. She checked with us now and then and made sure that we were served well and taken care of at all times. She was very efficient and always had a smile on her face. This lady deserves a hike. Awesome service.

The portions are so big, and the food is so good, I decided to consume it all at once and almost saw Jesus. Thats my first time trying biryani, and it was unbelievably tasty

Order hundreds of dollars of food for takeout. Specially requested to have some cutlery and some use and throw plates from the server. At the end nothing was packed. One dish missing which we paid for. When we pull over on the hwy to eat then discovered that no spoon plates or even napkins were provided. Absolutely 0 service from two young servers as they both appears to be busier then they can handle. Sorry folks not wasting my hard working money next time in your restaurant. Thanks

Third time in a row ordering from here for family dinner time. Every-time we have had a main dish missing! Todays experience when talking to management needs to be reported. They missed our main dish because of COVID- what excuse is that. Then I am told that I don t understand what it s like to run a family business- wait, you don t know me- I DO run my own family business. Customer service was deplorable and for giving them chance after chance and getting this type of response is uncalled for Unfortunately I had to hang up on them after being degraded when it was their mistake

SADDENED!!! This was our favourite go to Saturday family dinner restaurant We have been ordering regularly only to get disappointed once again, that moms meals are ALWAYS missing. We have connected with the restaurant with nothing but excuses- blaming skip the dishes -wait- skip doesn t make the food or package the sealed bag- they just deliver- own up to your mistakes and stop blaming COVID as an excuse when you give them 130$ for there food minus one main dish DO NOT order here!!!

We drive from Nanaimo to this place for halal food and they never disappoints! Love them.

Fantastic food!

Extremely disappointing, my wife and I had eaten at Sizzling Tandoor both at Uptown and the location today here in Langford .The ambiance was never very good , but to find the place looking so tatty and in need of a good makeover was really surprising. Unfortunately the buffet was no better, poor selection, lukewarm, dried out tandoori chicken and the rice, tasteless butter chicken. Probably the worst Indian food we have ever had. Unlikely we will go back to this location. However after our complaint they did not charge us for the buffet, solace for a disappointing lunch.

Absolutely amazing food. I had curried Lamb and it was fantastic. Everyone loved what they ordered. The staff was very attentive and polite. If you like Indian food this place is a must visit.

Love the buffet! Unlimited butter chicken yes please! Friendly staff, prompt service especially considering it was busy! Will be back as soon as I can. If it matters to you the decor could be upgraded but I personally don t mind!

Have eaten at the uptown twice with great success (delicious!). Tried the Langford this time and was very disappointed. Flavours were way off, and much blander than usual. It was like the spices that build flavour were omitted.

Placed a small to go order this evening (2 items). This is not the first time I ve ordered from here but it will be the last. When I arrived there was no one to greet or acknowledged me in a completely empty restaurant. When I went to pay for my food I found out that the prices had increased by a substantial amount which was jarring however I paid (with tip) and left. After arriving home and chilling for a bit I went to enjoy my (overpriced) food I found out that the order was incorrect and my one dish had been substituted for a much cheaper one. When I tried to call back after realizing the mistake (5 mins after close) no one answered. The food is decent but probably just hit up the grocery store and save yourself some money. At least you ll know what you ll be getting and won t make the mistake of rewarding stupidity with a tip like I did.

Always great food and service at this spot. Im thankful they are established and have a program to sponsor internationals for work. Leaves us with greatly skilled kitchen staff that stick around while they pursue PR and make consistently incredible tastings eats. Many thanks. My wife, kids and I used to love Sizzling Tandoor at Westshore mall. We were frequent customers for about 3 years, before the pandemic hit. We hadn t been there for some time. During our latest visit we were very disappointed by the current state of the restaurant: worn-out seats, dust on anything higher than the cleaner can reach and the toilet roll holders are of such poor quality, that bathroom visitors just put loose toilet rolls on the plumbing pipes. Very unhygienic. But the worst: both my wife and I had a stomach ache after our visit. It is a shame, we always enjoyed this restaurant.

We are newbies when it comes to Indian cuisine and Really enjoyed our dinner at the Sizzling Tandoor in Langford! We cant take much heat and they made it just right!

The food was great however the service was atrocious. To name a few complications, the waitress claimed theyve run out of multiple ingredients to make several drinks. The restaurant had opened 10 minutes prior (how does one run out of mint leaf?). Secondly, the service was incredibly slow. We were one of the few parties to dine in and NOT use the buffet so there wasnt very many tables requiring service . I took my parents to this location (and restaurant) for the very first time and unfortunately will not be returning.

Delicious Indian food. The lamb was extra juicy. I also had a order of the chicken and beef which was good but the lamb was my favorite protein choice. I love the different options of Naan bread. Will definitely eat here again.

Went to the buffet during the pandemic and it was very clean and sanitary and COVID protocols were in place. I felt like I had very little to no chance of being exposed while I was there.

Tonight I ordered the vegetable cashew curry over Skip. Towards the end of the meal I realized that it wasnt cauliflower covered in curry that I was eating, but chicken. Ive been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and know this will make me sick since I cant digest meat anymore. If you are also plant based please do not eat here. They are not careful with their ingredients.

After trying almost all restaurants around Langford I didn t have much hopes. I find many restaurants loud and just not good quality. Well to my surprise this little place is a gem! My server was friendly, food was fast, tasted good and priced certainly well. Bonus I finally found a place where people weren t obnoxiously loud and inconsiderate. My only criticism is the door girl had a non friendly vibe.

Best Indian food. I am not a huge curry fan but Sizzling Tandoor has made me an addict! Its delicious. The service is always top notch with the most incredibly friendly staff. Order was ready right on time. Will be coming back regularly!

I really enjoyed my take out. I had butter chicken, plain naan, and veggie pakora. The pieces of chicken were large and very tender. The sauce, I ordered medium, had my brow sweating, and naan was large, more than enough to sop up the extra sauce. There were tasty cumin seeds in the rice. My wife had maner (spelling?) paneer, which she very much enjoyed. There are left overs for later which is really nice too. A very good meal!

We come for the buffet exclusively. A favorite lunch spot for us. Love the flavors and consistency. One of the best things is you can be in and out in 30 mins or less.

Called twice when open, and no answer, 3rd time answer but placed on hold, then hung up 5 minutes after being on hold only to call more to place order with no reply. Abysmal service

The taste started to change since this year. The dry pancake becomes dry and bitter. Will not order in the near future again. Update: sorry for the misunderstanding, it should be Naan rather than pancake. I used to love love love your Naan but this year it s changing to something really weird. I ordered several times because at the first I thought it would be a one time coincidence. However, it s getting worse and worse every time.

Family curry recipes never disappoint, the cocktails are original, with an Indian twist - you won t find these anywhere! The light atmosphere and lovely staff are always a cherry on top! Can t wait for our next visit :)

Food is always good for a chain type place. Good portions and well rounded menu. Buffet is usually decent at lunch too. Always leave full and often with a box of left overs.

This place in Langford is good to get your Indian food fix. Friendly staff and as the food was very reasonably priced. The happy hour prices for alcohol is good as well. It was busy on Friday night. Couldn t take good pics this time. I will certainly visit again.

My wife and I are/were regulars. Have been for about 2 years. We have spent a ridiculous amount $$ there for take out. Its common for a restaurant to get so popular that the quality of food lowers because of high demand. But when a customer calls to make a small request to add more (cooked) veggies to the meal and all they do is cut up half a raw onion and throw it on top of the dish, it sets a cascading wave of disappointment. I made the request over the phone with ST, we spoke calmly and politely, and it seems like there was an understanding. But the finished product has me very uneasy. Disappointment and they may have lost a loyal customer tonight. Feeling sad from this lack of effort.

I was not sure about the taste but when I got the food everything was perfect Onion and cilantro naan, Kashmiri Kofta, Rasmlai everything. I ordered the dish as HOT and came out perfectly which is very rare. I would like to try more stuff from here and also recommend this for sure

I always have great things to say about this place! The food is delicious and they are always super friendly and accommodating, especially when it comes to my toddler s allergies. We love both dining in and getting take out. My favorite spot in Langford, highly recommend!

Food is great, staff are friendly, location is convenient, and easy to contact for take-outs (their lamb biryani is to die for). Also, one time I got a chance to talk to one of the owners who was very nice and was open for customer feedbacks.

We have been ordering take out from sizzling tandoor since they have had a location in Langford. Unfortunately every order there is a problem. Missing sauces, chewy gummy rice, missing rice, under cooked pakoras, wrong items in the bag verses what we ordered. The chicken biryani seems to have gotten less in volume and flavour. I think we will be trying some of the other local Indian places in the future.

Waste of money , we ordered some options one of them , they already out of that , and one dish was stale and didn t taste good.

Great food, amazing selections...terrible uninterested service. Servers didnt ask if we wanted drinks, asked how food was and walked away before we could answer. The two girls serving were more interested in their phones then working. Will only do take out from now on, never will eat in house again.

Was just there to find out what time take out orders are accepted and its 3pm today on a Monday Apr6th. It would be nice if these kinds of information were available on their website or as a phone message. Been here many times for buffet and they are good.

Their food is so good , good quantity and good quality food which is worth for price. I love their prawn biriyani, Tandoor platter and their buffet is simply the best for money we pay. Cozy and comfortable place. They have parking lot.

My Great Friend Vince brought to this awesome Restaurant, I had a variety of things that I am super picky about. To be specific something i really enjoy is Butter Chicken, however I risked the Lamb which I prefer but seldom have as my experience with lamb in Restaurants has been terrible, there is nowhere in Alberta that lamb is done right, Sizzling Tandoor not just nails it but owns it, i could have eaten myself to death with it. Their Pekoras are fabulous, i will return to this place likely tonight as its been a few weeks since I had my first visit. Totally salivating right now thing about it. If you like Imdian Good, or even if you are Missing your Cultural Food, this place will satisfy your long for the real deal.

This is the best Indian food you will find!! I originally was not a big fan of Indian food but after eating here I am constantly craving it. Butter chicken, coconut curry, pakoras, their chutney, all amazing! Very friendly servers too. Highly recommend for dine in or take out.

Perfect dinner, big portions, exquisite flavor, brings the HEAT Since the reopening of new Mantra I dont try new Indian restaurants. Ive been to many, keep returning to my favorite. So were in Langford and doing some shopping and the S.O. wants some spicy noodles. Hey! Theres NoodleBox! Hey what a surprise, its Packed! Hey! Theres a Sizzling Tandoor here! Lets eat here and hopefully the staff at Mantra dont find out! WOW When your server asks you for your level of heat, I know its not going to be bland. ( Not that heat is a flavor) So we ordered the fish tandoori -hot- chicken mango curry -hot- and coconut prawn curry, yeah, hot. And the dishes were superb. The flavor hits you like a kick in the tastebuds. And the heat? Subtle. Its after you chew and swallow and prepare for the next bite, you feel it. It starts slow and fills your mouth with a smouldering fire. Its not volcanic; its like a baseboard heater that takes time to get up to temperature. Im grateful they have Dark Matter on tap. FSHHHH! Puts out the fire! LOL SERIOUSLY - hot but not HOT If I had one suggestion that would change my devotion to Mantra is that the fish be a little firmer. Not sure if it was cod or tilapia but it could have been a little more hearty. It didnt flake well, just sort of fell apart but... Nitpicking... I LOVE YOU SIZZLING TANDOOR KITCHEN STAFF! Our server was great as well. Attentive and attractive and funny. Sorry I cant recall your name. I asked but I was probably distracted by the flavors still being all rowdy in my mouth, literally hours after my meal. Had lots of leftovers next day too Even better!! 5 chillis!!! Or... Stars... Whatever...

Great experience from start to finish. Food was fantastic, they even accommodated our 1.5 year old by making him some plain chicken although we learned he loved the chicken pakoras. Always friendly service and great food!

Ive been to Sizzling Tandoor a handful of times now and the food is absolutely delicious and oh so flavorful. I find myself craving the butter chicken all the time! Im also very appreciative of the fact that they dont have peanuts in their kitchen as my boyfriend has a peanut allergy. Perfect date night spot for us :) Well be back soon!

Ugh this was heartbreaking, I wanted to love it because its so close to work. Stars for service**** but my curry is runny... I ordered medium and there is no heat, at all. Also my naan was well over worked it is completely flat... Hopefully you can use this review constructively.

Not a big tandoori fan usually, but I really enjoyed the food.

The service was great and I loved the food.

Good service and food. The place was kinda dirty though (dust along the ledges, food splashes on the walls and after 2 families with really messy kids left food they left on the floor wasnt swept up right away). But Im sure the kitchen is in better shape than the dining room.

Wow. I came here for happy hour food and had an amazing butter chicken poutine. I am yet to have anything else but this dish blew my socks off as an afternoon snack (meal). Large in size and cheap in price!

Best Indian food in Victoria.

this food is below average. not authentic Indian food. the butter chicken was very salty. the biriyani we ordered had zero flavour which is not how the ORIGINAL biriyani tastes. this food was satisfying but I would not come back here!

Lunch buffet is fun lifestyles

Their butter chicken on skip the dishes menu claims to have chicken pieces in it but it does not unless you add chicken (for extra money) in the options menu. Extremely confusing and unnecessary. Im just glad I called to clarify first before I ended up receiving my butter chicken without chicken. Staff were not helpful at all when I called. Thank you skip the dishes for their great customer service because obviously this restaurant is lacking in that department

Excellent customer service.....good food....

This wasn t great at all, the staff were nice, but the curry dishes were already mixed with rice making the portions big but very dry, not giving you the option to add more sauce as it was already mixed together like a risotto. I have never had an Indian dish like this, and this wasn t the dish I chose as my husband had a curry too and his was just the same.

Ordered mild got super spicy. Disrespectful management team Got a phone call from the general manager with her being rude making threats towards me for leaving a bad google review.
