House made fresh pasta, share plates, local wine, hand crafted cocktails. Relax in our lounge, bar, dining room, or patio! Perfect place to meet with friends & family.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is gorgeous and modern. But, tasty is too terrible to enjoy the mood in the restaurant. First of all, spaghetti noodles were really less cooked. Also, the kids' menu is the worst. We ordered two creamed base spaghetti, and both were too salty. I asked the waitress to cook again less salty. But, when they cooked kid's menu at the second time, tasty was none. Absolutely zero tasty!! Although they did not get the pay for two kid's menu, it was horrible to eat!! Kids could not eat at all I think Chef did not check the tasty of spaghetti. I do not think we will come back here again!!
The place was super nice and a great atmosphere with okay service until a few hours later I received the worst food poisoning ever. I had the Prawn carbonara and was on bed rest for two days worried I should go to the hospital from how bad my fever was. Be careful. Called them about it and they wrote an incident report so hopefully no one else gets sick.
I’m always so happy and full when I leave here. Thanks for the excellent meal! I recommend the braised beef and the goat cheese salad
Great deal after 8:30pm, they have nightly specials from 3-11$ which is a fantastic price! Portions are perfect if you’re looking for a late night dinner! Wish they had the butternut squash pasta an option!
This restaurant has great ambience, comfortable seating and nice staff. The pasta is good, there is nothing specifically wrong with it. The criticism I have is the prices on the menu: with tax and tip, my pasta, along with most others on the menu, are 30+ dollars. There are many proper Italian restaurants in the area charging similar prices for a similar dish that is obviously more authentic, hence, tastes better. If there is no difference in price, there is no reason to come to Lot 1 Pasta if you can have a more authentic experience somewhere else. I would be more inclined to come more often if the prices were more aligned with the authenticity and quality of the product expected from a Pasta Bar.
Beautiful presentation on the foods, we all love the polenta cubes. Pasta is nicely cooked, large portion size. However, we found it is too greasy at the final few bits of the pasta. Not everytime tho. So I will say 4.5/5
*Back story* Went there in the winter. My wife and I both ordered a special with a medium steak on the pasta dish it came with. We waited nearly an hour while the people who were sat after us recieved their orders. When the food came both our steaks were so underdone I was even grossed out a little (and I prefer my steak on the rare side)... we never got a first bite check so my wife sat there for another ridiculously long period. I had to stand up and grab a waiter from a different section to handle us for the remainder of the visit because our original server never came back. I told the new server that my wife ordered the steak medium and he agreed that it was clearly underdone. He asked if we wanted them to remake it and my wife said she didn't want to wait any longer and just wanted to go home. When the bill came the food she didn't eat was comped, I payed full price for my meal even though my steak was underdone as well and the manager came over and gave us 2 cards that say "$10 gift card" on it. It was a terrible experience and it took a long time for us to go back Fast forward to today. We go to Lot 1 and the server great, even though we were the only table on the patio she was very attentive. the experience as a whole is very positive, decent drinks, good pasta. We ask for the bill and put down the 2 "gift cards" from our previous experience and they don't accept them because of an expiry date on the back. I try to explain the manager that in BC legally gift cards CAN NOT expire if they have a monetary value like $X and that the reason we got them in the first place was from our very terrible experience the last time we were there. He asked us to tell him details about the server we dealt with in that first experience and when my wife described him he just said "No one like that here, talk to our head office about it" The way our first visit was handled and the fact we had to get interrogated on our second is a really bad look for this restaurant. We will never be going back there, and we strongly recommend others to stay away. Food was very good. Disappointed that the TVs that were above the bar were removed. I asked about this (both to the server and via e-mail) but never received an answer as to why. On 2 separate occasions, after ordering a dish, the same server came back and said they were out of it. Shouldn't they have known this information in advance and presented it to the customers when they take orders so that the customers don't have to waste time thinking about what to order again? On 2 separate occasions, we had an issue with the same server. On one, when my son spilled his water (and it made a loud enough noise such that the server could obviously hear it), she never came over to wipe it up. I had to get up, go over to her, and ask her to do so. She then came by and quickly wiped everything once, but the table was still wet. On the other occasion, after we paid the bill (and tipped), she gave me the receipt without saying a single word and then just walked off. No "thank you", "hope to see you again soon" or anything. Like what kind of server does that? It felt awkward and shocking. As we were walking out, a man whom I presumed to be the manager said "Thank you folks for coming in." This was nice (and what I originally expected from the server.)
Braised Beef Campanelle is my favourite Always incredible Thanks to the lovely couple ( don t know their name ) from Courtney that surprised my family by paying for our entire meal. Truly incredible and unexpected. We ve paid it forward and spread the love.
We loved our food and server so much, cant quite put our finger on who she looked like, but we heard mistletoe by Justin Bieber one too many times and we think that drummer boy by Justin Bieber should be added to the Christmas playlist! will be back soon to enjoy drummer Boy :)
Expensive prices for poor quality and small portions. Used to be good but is garbage now. I won t be ordering or going back.
Only giving two stars, wish I could give 2.5. It s always been five star at this place but recently they must ve changed something. I ve always ordered the same dish from this place and it s delicious. But not anymore. I don t know if they have new management or a new chef or whatever it is but they have cut down significantly on the pastas as if they re trying to save money. The four cheese rigatoni I ordered should be packed full of bacon, mushrooms, jalapeños, and cheese . As it usually always is. This time I ordered, I literally counted three little pieces of bacon, and four mushrooms, plus two very small chunks of jalapeño? I m not sure who s trying to make budget cuts in the restaurant but if I pay $30 for a basic pasta I expect to have something more than 98% noodles. Literally finished the toppings in one bite. Now my next 30 bites are just straight noodles. Never ordering from Lot 1 again.
Just such a chill place best tiramisu
Been here and few times now and can say that the consistency is bang on. Customer service has always been friendly, informative, and accommodating when it comes to food sensitivities. Their Polenta bites steal the show though, and very hard to not order more. They are so freaking addictive Y.U.M!!! Needless to say I always order a box for take out as well.
Disappointing Service Our visit to Lot One Past the Bar started with complimentary polenta bites, but no water was provided to enjoy them. After waiting 20 minutes, we poured our own water, only to be told not to do that yet it was never offered afterward. Side plates were also missing for our baked Brie. When we brought up these concerns, the waitress avoided our table entirely, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. She spent most of her time running laps around the room empty-handed, which felt both inefficient and unprofessional. While the polenta bites were a nice touch, the overall lack of attentiveness made the experience very disappointing.
I came here for my birthday with a friend for lunch, the food was amazing, we both had the chicken pesto radiatori and if not for my eyes being bigger than my stomach would have orders more
Delicious would definitely go back
Dined at Lot 1 and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was atmosphere-ing. Modern yet cozy, setting the perfect tone for a relaxing meal. We started with the beef carpaccio, which was tender and flavorful, perfectly complemented by capers and arugula. The prawn carbonara was equally impressive creamy, with plump prawns and perfectly cooked pasta. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff making the dining experience even better. Overall, Lot 1 offers great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Our waitress, Olivia, was very nice and had GREAT service!!
We just had a birthday dinner for 6 and the food was top tier as always. The highlight was surely our attentive server Kiara. Even with a bunch of substitutions and our endless story telling, she was efficient and personable. Excellent service.
Appreciate that they provide a free appetizer, we ordered the beef Campanelle, prawn carbonara, rhubarb sour, and an Italian berry drink. Fairly good portion sizes, food came out timely, friendly staff, and a nice vibe to the place. The food itself was tasty, very well rounded experience. Price-wise it seems reasonable.
Could have been good however service was compromised. One experienced waiter for the whole restaurant while 3 trainees stood at the bar doing nothing. One meal arrived 10 minutes before the others and the breadsticks. Couldn t get anyone s attention for side plates water refill. Stupidly ordered desserts which took 25 minutes with an apology and price reduction. The restaurant is an open space concept which leads to freezing temperatures which cools the meal . Get it together please folks
Recommended to many of my friends and we all enjoy it! They make their own pasta and give you a small complementary appetizer. Wait time could be a bit long since the pasta are freshly made Pastas are Good portion and flavorful. Love the late night deal as well
We ordered 2 pasta one of them by beef the taste that was awful. beef served by lots of fat then we have to ordered moroccan pasta, the chicken smell was so bad.
We had a large party that was greeted promptly and seated well. Service was prompt and ordering was flexible and they were able to accommodate a variety of food allergies and dislikes. I had the Prawn Carbonara which had a nice sauce but the pasta was very el dente, too much for my taste, and the, what I believe was small bits of pork belly, were hard and chewy. A spoon was not amongst the standard cutlery and was not presented with my meal, I had to ask for one, which I thought strange given the type of restaurant we were at. So, servers and servers were awesome, food not so much.
Food can be a but hit or miss but most of the appetizers are really good, pastas some are good and some are really bland. Mostly go for the happy hour because of the fun drink and appetizer selection. Nice place for dinner with the family. Parking: The parking lot is terrible for trucks. Kid-friendliness: Good kid choices
Dining in a few times and the service was either slow or our waitress just completely disappeared. Take out is better, but honestly the best pasta they have ever had was the lemon ricotta ravioli. Unfortunately they took it off their menu. Won t be ordering anymore because all the other pastas are a let down for a pasta place!
The portion sizes were halved! We used to order from here all the time and recently the to go sizes have become a waste of our money. My kids wont eat the kids pasta, there was barely any sauce on the pasta I ordered. I shouldnt still be hungry after an order of pasta AND a salad. It wouldve been better to increase the prices instead of cutting the portion size. Now, I wont be ordering from there. Its a shame because I love the Cesar salad and most of the pasta dishes.
The service was excellent, the presentation of the food and taste was so good.....
Outstanding service, delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! Absolutely recommend!
We stopped here for lunch before leaving town, and our meal was absolutely delicious! I would for sure come again! It wasnt to busy when we came! We waited a bit for someone to come check on us after our meal but over all a very pleasant experience!
Delicious! Pasta tastes like it was hand-rolled in-house. Highly recommend the butternut squash pasta dish.
Absolutely awesome mushroom and bacon ravioli!
The food is very delicious. The mixed drinks for 5 Canadian dollars (about 3 euros) were good (I didnt like the lavender one but its a matter of taste). Very cool atmosphere.
Quite a nice restaurant, the food was very good. Unfortunately, it dripped from the air conditioning, right onto our table.
Recommend going after 9pm to get the after hours deals
I ordered the spaghetti w/ wagyu meatballs. The sauce was too garlicky to the point it was peppery. Blanching the garlic could help. I was intrigued by the wagyu meatballs, but unfortunately they were dry and crumbly. Potentially a better mix of pork and wagyu? Service was fine. Atmosphere was nice. Food wasn t amazing.
My friend took me to lot1 as it was his favourite restaurant, it s a beautiful cozy restaurant so everything was going towards the right direction until it came down to the quality of the service and food. I ordered a bacon mushroom cheese ravioli, first time they dropped it off it was extremely salty, I didn t want it to be a personal preference so I asked my friends to try it and they all agree that it extremely salty. so when the server came by, I had to send it back. usually when you have food send back the expectation would be the server would check and see if your food is good for the second time and then walk away it was not the case, and clearly the second time was actually worse as it was still undercooked, it was very doughy. And the server was clearly not attentive and we can see him talking at the bar with I assume the manager. while I m sitting it gets more frustrated the more I waited. He only came by to ask how the food was when everyone has already finished and was ready for the bill.
Food was delivered very fast and the food was delicious. The takeout boxes were free, which it s great. The waiters were very polite and friendly and the restaurant was clean.
just okay
Olivia is Awesome! Her suggestions were spot on. Thank you. You are the best.
From start to finish, the experience was absolutely outstanding! The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of, even apologizing when they couldn t get back to us right away because they were busy. Their level of service really stood out and made the whole visit feel special. One thing you absolutely cannot miss is the sangria flight it was amazing! Each one was crafted perfectly, and they all had their own unique, delicious flavor. If youre a sangria fan, this is a must-try! The location also has plenty of parking, which is super convenient. And I have to mention the pasta it s hands down the best we ve had in a long time. We ll definitely be coming back soon!
You get lots of food and it was really good! Everyone at our table liked their meal. I m
Delicious food and the prices were reasonable.
Ok so I ve ordered 3 x in 4 days because their food is so incredibly delicious , huge portions and definitely affordable for the quality and quantity of ingredients. I ve been ordering through the Uber Eats app. Because I m new to this place I didn t really understand a lot of things on the menu or how it was packaged for delivery. I made a call to Lot 1 the first day and spoke to the kindest and friendliest gentleman named Evan. He explained everything to me and so I ordered dinner which consisted of the Prawn carbonara and an order of Suppli ( which is basically deep fried risotto and cheese balls that come w the yummiest Mariana sauce. ). It was literally one of the BEST MEALS I ve had in a long time. To make it even better which I didn t think was possible he added a piece of tiramisu on the house as it was my first order and he was just being so kind because I had to call 2x about the order to ask questions and mentioned it was my first time ordering from them. I can t really have coffee or chocolate due to my health issues but i definitely got in quite a few bites because it was one of the tastiest desserts I ve ever had. It wasn t just gross coffee flavouring with lady fingers and some chocolate. No this dessert was so much more than that. It was delicate, smooth , not too sweet and just the right amount of everything. It was perfection in my opinion. I was so taken back by their incredible customer service that I ended up ordering the prawn carbonara 2 days after for lunch. Please note that there s a price difference in lunch and dinner costs and you get a bigger portion at dinner time ( that s what they explained as of course I called to ask why the price was different? Lol ) regardless I ordered it with extra shrimp since it was lunch time and I was delightfully surprised with how many extra shrimp I got and they wrote a cute note on the box. Again it was a 10 out of 10 in the taste department for sure. My only suggestion is that I hope they can find a way to send pasta and them a small side of pasta water for smaller eaters like myself who can t finish it in one sitting and even just getting it delivered it ends up sitting for at least 20-30 minutes to arrive so the pasta can be a tad dry. That s why I thought adding a small side of pasta water in say a small plastic container would be incredible. But I m in no way complaining. I just added some butter and water and mixed it together over the stove to reheat it all and get those juices flowing and the prawns warmed. So far I ve spoken with Evan , Amy , and the manager, Olivia as I did want to tell her about the amazing customer service and how wonderfully I was treated by the staff when I called to ask questions. Plus I wanted to mention the pasta water idea too ? Who knows how that would work but I m still 100% super impressed with their food. Then today I ordered 2 orders of the Suppli and had to call to make sure it was packaged in 2 separate containers since one is not for me. Also I wanted to double check that the sauce came on the side so it doesn t go soggy. I spoke with a lovely lady named Cohen who was extremely friendly and kind and said yes , she can accommodate that and that the sauce always comes on the side which is smart! Especially for people like me who don t eat a lot at one sitting. I can just pop them in the air fryer and warm up the sauce and it s like I m eating right at the restaurant. The best part is that my parents had a chance to taste their food and they said they re moving their date nights from another local restaurant to Lot 1 as their next date night dinner spot because they loved the food so much too. Huge thank you to everyone at lot 1 especially those talented chefs who make this incredible food. I m thrilled with this place , the amazing customer service and the high quality and quantity of absolutely delicious ingredients. Bravo . I m sure I ll order again very soon since it s hard for me to cook with my health issues. Much appreciated.
They will give you a gift card to rectify mistakes made like forgetting your table or the food being terrible but when you try to use it they say it s actually a coupon (it says $10 gift card right on in, in BC it has to be honoured) and then refuse to accept it.
This is the second time that I visit Lot 1. I can give 5 stars for the first visit but today I ordered 4 dishes, including 2 from kids menu. My boy asked for a kid s meatball pasta. For our surprise, it was too hot (pepper) for one kid taste and he couldn t eat.
The food was just terrible, waste of money. We ordered a Caesar salad that had 25 roasted garlic cloves for some reason, in a Caesar salad. Moreover, the bacon was dry and old. They gave us a complimentary dish with a hair in it, and the server didn t even seem to care and to make it right. For main dish we ordered mushroom ravioli, tasteless and old filling in the ravioli. Last but least, the drinks were bad and not worth the money. Overall highly not recommended and definitely not worth the money.
Our server was absolutely yolked, great at peppering my pasta, big hands ! Will not be complaining to him about anything anytime soon.
Honestly this place is a hidden, underestimated gem and apparently a cult favourite for those who know about it. I admit I was super annoyed having to go here because of the weird/sketchy location and the fact that it looks like a low budget chain resto like a cheap local version of Cactus Club etc. I was totally wrong. Shockingly, this place has delicious food! Better than Fiamo, Zambris or any other expensive fancy pasta place in Victoria. They make their pasta fresh in-house. There s nothing that tastes as good as that. The sauces and ingredients were really well done, although the marinara sauce for the spaghetti is fairly spicy so watch out for that. If you love pasta, go here, trust me it s so so good. The service was better than anywhere else too. The server and manager are honest and have good social skills. They aren t overly enthusiastic which I find very awkward and inauthentic. Nice crew, shockingly good food. Go here!
Absolutely fantastic. Delicious pasta, great atmosphere, excellent service. Definitely coming back here again.
We were those classic annoying people who come in just before clothes and order food. The servers and staff were very courteous and helpful and did not rush us out even though we sat and chatted for a long time. On top of that the food was great and the late evening deals were even better!
Bad Service at Dinner
Used to be my favourite place for pasta but the last two times I ve gone it was terrible. One of the times they put way to much salt I couldn t eat it and just now they gave me pasta with barely any sauce. Has gone downhill fast. I normally have the four cheese rigatoni and I can t even taste any sauce and only have noodles. Very disappointed.
I went to this restaurant for my 2nd visit the other day. Cozy little pasta place (they have non pasta dishes on the menu as well), and for the summer you could sit outside although the parking lot view is not very appealing. Our server was okay but asked my friend if she was still working on her food when she only had 10% of pasta, which was a bit odd. Pasta is decent here but Im not a huge fan of their handmade noodle. It was too thick for spaghetti. Noodle tasted fresh, though. Its usually quiet so a good place to have a conversation over quick lunch.
Probably one of the best pasta restaurants weve ever gone to. The pasta was so amazing because it was freshly made in the morning and the sauces were also fresh and very tasty. Service was friendly and though our food took awhile to be prepared it was worth it. The restaurant itself has a modern feel and is much nicer than what one would expect in a strip mall. The prices were also reasonable considering the quality. We ordered: Pesto Seafood Tagliatelle Spaghetti & Wagyu Meatballs Butternut Squash Campanelle plus Tofu Butternut Squash & Goat Cheese Salad (Goat Cheese on the side) Tiramisu 8pc Polenta I ordered the Campanelle but ended up switching with my wife who ordered the Tagliatelle because she wanted more acid. My son loved his Spaghetti. The Salad and Tiramisu were very good too. We also got a complimentary 8pc Polenta as a starter which was very good.
Service took a long time. Food was okay. A bit heavy. Forgot our drink. Long time to get credit machine.
Amazing food. It was unexpected how good the food was. We sat outside on a quiet sunny day. Our server was very good, he explained all the options well. The polenta bites were a so tasty, Ive never actually had polenta that I enjoyed before! All around great food, great service.
Its delicious and fast!! Large portions and great service!!
Went for lunch today at Lot 1. Had a delicious Caesar salad. A lovely perk was a couple of complimentary delectable polenta bites! My server, Evan, had a grand and infectious smile that made one feel welcomed. Thank you! :) Recommended dishes
Even this restaurant isnt immune to shrinkflation it seems. I ordered the spaghetti with Wagyu meatballs for the first time in over a year, and I just couldnt believe how small the meatballs got! For $20, receiving two tiny meatballs with a handful of spaghetti is just not worth it anymore sadly. (Plus if I remember correctly, Im pretty sure this meal used to come with three meatballs and not two). Really disappointed.
Service was great and I have been many times for late night or through Uber Eats and pickup and is always consistently good; however during tonight s visit there was an absolutely awful stench from one of the staff members to which that member should have been sent home. The smell from this member was worse than my mother s bathroom while on her monthly cycle. It should be important for management to acknowledge proper personal hygiene of their staff and to prevent and correct this behaviour. Our server was lovely but she seemed bothered by the smell as well. I hope she has a great rest of her night though!
The photo didnt make it because we were hungry. Thank you for squeezing us in before the 7 oclock reservation.
Food was great.
My new favorite! We had Shrimp Carbonara and wagu spaghetti. Nothing short of awesome!
Best Highly recommended
My first experience at Lot 1 has been a great one. I have serious allergies to peanuts and nuts, and had a positive interaction with the manager over the phone checking on their ability to accommodate me. It was great to hear that they make all their pastas in-house, and that they take allergies very seriously. Our waitress was Amanda M., and we were so impressed with her diligence and care! She proactively identified potential allergens and checked them with the kitchen. I saw her reading the liquor bottles of the cocktail I ordered to make sure there werent any unforseen allergens. She really took it seriously and went above and beyond. The food was excellent. Big portions, homey style, and made with care. Will definitely be back!
Always great
We were treated with respect and the food was great.
Seafood pasta was amazing. decent price too.
Absolutely love their Pesto Chicken pasta and their late night specials !
Really good value. Late night deal was excellent. Very affordable and really good tasting good. Would go again.
Wow, very good dinner, the food was well presented and served up quickly. I wish I had taken some pictures, but we were there with friends and we all just dug in! The meatballs were delicious, the sauce complimented them perfectly and the pasta cooked just right. This is the first time that spaghetti out was as good as home made, trust me it isnt easy to beat my wifes home cooking! Dont forget to add the Roasted Garlic & Herb Bread, delicious! For a lighter meal try the Lot 1 Salad, nice with goat feta and toasted pumpkin seeds. I will also say that our server Ignacio C. was excellent, friendly and helpful making suggestions and explaining the dishes in detail, he was fast and efficient, kudos to all of the staff on hand May 2, kitchen too of course! We are planning on a repeat evening hopefully this time on their patio!
The dishes were very well served, the service was very good, Olivia served us and was always very friendly, in general everything was very delicious
obviously by picture, i ordered this pasta. But i got the ricotta and tomato campanelle and roasted garlic and herb bread. The pasta has 0 flavour, the ricotta was the only thing with flavour and everything else just tasted like nothing. The bread was over done and crunchy to the point of it being inedible.
Pretty good quality food and service.
The food was amazing must try the garlic and herb bread, the whole atmosphere is accented by the lighting and the friendly staff, you are in for a good experience if you get Keiran.
Very nice. Pasta dishes prepared fresh from the kitchen. A bit open and noisy, its not geared to be a romantic spot.
This restaurant is definitely on the high-end in price and atmosphere, but a great place for dates, anniversaries and semi-formal get-together nonetheless. I love the pastas they have here, and how you can customize the noodles and sauces to your preference free of charge. Their happy hour menu also has a good selection of foods and drinks to choose from. I loved the Raspberry lychee limonata! The staff here was very engaged and attentive to our orders. You also get free cheese cubes as an appetizer too, on the house before your meals arrive. Its never busy when we visit during the early afternoon for happy hour. I recommend this place if youre looking for excellent quality pasta meals at a luxury decorated restaurant. Lot 1 Pasta bar fits the bill! Vegetarian options: Non-meat menu items available on the menu, or as requested. Dietary restrictions: Salad options are good for the keto diet. Parking: Ample parking space. Parking lot on site. Wheelchair accessibility: Located on the ground floor. No stairs nor elevator required.
This place just happened to be across the street from our hotel and perfect for our athletes who needed to carb load. Food was amazing, we ordered 2 pastas for 3 people and bread sticks. Their service was outstanding! Our table was slightly delayed (by like 10) as the previous party was still occupying it and we were offered complimentary dessert and a appetizer. It was so unexpected. It wasnt just the complimentary food but the staff were apologizing for the slight delay. I wouldnt have considered it a delay at all but really appreciated the gesture. Definitely recommend coming here if youre in Victoria.
Pasta and starters all great, service fine. Not on the pricey side but worth it
My partner and I rarely get out. We took a taxi so we could enjoy a meal and some cocktails. We were sat down and after our order was taken, staff members other than our waitress would drop food or drinks. Our waitress completely ignored us. We had empty glasses and plates sitting on our table for 45 minutes. We hoping to order several courses and try the signature drinks. Extremely disappointing service. Our dissatisfaction was distracting and it put a big damper on our evening.
Great food & service!!
I really like it here.
We went here not knowing that there is a late night menu which starts at 8:30pm which is comparatively cheaper than the normal menu and comes in smaller food portions We ordered from late night menu: Moroccan chicken spaghetti (I substituted) This was flavourful but the portion was very small and it had cashews and nuts in it 7.5/10 Pesto rigatoni - cheesy creamy and delicious 8/10 Garlic breadsticks were really good and the marinara sauce it came with was super-good Drinks : Lavender fizz - tasted like lavender candle 4/10 Peach ( I forgot the name) - really good 8/10 Overall the food was good and ambience is brilliant. They have a bar so you will get really good cocktails and mocktails
Have had great dining experiences here for years. They must have changed chefs though because I ordered the 4 cheese rigatoni and it was disgusting, just drowned in cheese so you couldnt taste anything else. My husbands order was also different than normal. I am not sure I trust them enough to try ordering again.
Everything was fine, though not exceptional.
Our food was amazing. We will definitely be back for more food options.
Great pasta, fast service, modern decor, decent price. I had the braised beef campenelle, they ran out of campenelle and was substituted with radiatori, which worked just as well with the sauce. Beef was tender and flavourful, each mouthful was filled with sauce, beef and pasta. They also gave the fried polenta as appy and I would order them myself. They were nice and crispy, perfect little bit size with just a bit of the tomato sauce. Will definitely recommend for lunch or a quick bite.
Great drink prices and good selection. Free polenta (?) appys which was a nice surprise, and the service is amazing! Their bartender is lovely and knows what he s doing :-)
Overpriced carbonara, never seen such a bad carbonara in my life
Delicious food and very generous portion, super good service from Olivia!!
If it was an extra Star, this place deserve it. Awesome taste, 3 different pomodoro sauces, all of them a different taste, all 3 delicious. BIG pasta portions, Olivia was GREAT in attending us. We loved this place. Cost is average to Victoria s restaurants. PS: ale also great taste.
Amazing. Good service. Timely. Came after 8:30 for the reduced price so the Wagyu meatballs and one of the chicken portions in the pesto radiatori was just a little bit dry, but still absolutely amazing and well worth the price. Cleaned the plates lemon basil soda was also made perfectly.
The environment was nice and cozy. Friendly staff and delicious food. I particularly liked their March special pasta.
Lo1 Pasta Bar is a pasta lovers delight: wonderful ambiance, sumptuous food, unique and cheerful staff. Portions are generous. Love the place. 100% recommended. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible place
Fantastic place to eat. Very friendly and helpful staff.
I was craving mushroom ravioli and this is the best in town. When we arrived the host staff welcomed and seated two ladies at a table for 6 and then told us that there were no more tables. The table for 6 was actually 3 tables for 2 put together, and so we asked if they could separate a table for 2 for us and leave the ladies with a table for 4. The host staff looked totally befuddled by this question and balked at being asked to go ask the ladies if they would mind if we separated a table for 2 so we could dine also. We explained about how this would mean the restaurant would make more money, instead of turning us away. They hummed and hawed, and wanted to ask a manager if it was ok to ask the ladies this simple question. They basically refused to go ask them, so before the ladies had even got their coats off, my husband went over with a big smile and explained the situation and asked if we could use separate the table and two chairs at the other end. The host staff looked like they wanted the floor to open up and swallow them, so I reassured them that my husband is a gentleman and that it would be fine. The two ladies said of course it was fine, and so my husband came back to report to the host staff that they were cool with it. He asked if the staff wanted to separate table or would they prefer my husband to do that for them too ;). It s hard to believe that the staff aren t empowered to see two groups of two enter the establishment and to separate tables first, or ask customers simple questions themselves. Generally it appeared to be a lack of maturity and experience in hosting. Hopefully they learned from watching how it s done professionally and politely, that it really was no big deal! In hindsight when two couples arrive separately, they should go separate the tables and then seat everyone. We chose to find this all very humourous instead of being disappointed lol. Our food was excellent and the wait staff were lovely. We tipped based on this and not our initial experience at the door.
The good was excellent as was the service. I love to be able to select your pasta and sauce.
Have simply never been disappointed here. Drinks are delicious, always something new. The appetizers are a flawless segue into the main course, anytime Im in Victoria I try to make my way here
The food is delicious but I really miss the cheesecake Dietary restrictions: The fact that they serve mostly pasta and can make the majority of the menu gluten-free does not apply to me but one of my close friends loves to eat here because even though its gluten-free it doesnt have that lack of flavor usually associated with those types of dishes
Amazing food carpaccio wow
Servers were great and knowledgeable. First time there and we were very impressed with the quality and flavour of the food. Portions are large (took home 1/2 of each entree and had a second meal !) food was piping hot1 we had the 4 cheese rigatoni and the prawn carbonara. Both delicious! Pricing is also very reasonable.
Trying to get through my takeout tonight. What used to be my favourite bolognese meal is worse than a frozen dinner guys! Every second bite is a meatball of glued-together pasta, a hard ball. Husbands spaghetti is dry and missing half its sauce. This is the 3rd time we ve ordered and it hasn t been quality. Have you given up? I m surprised by the brand as I know there s a lot of pride in the Bin4 sister brand. I know Covid has been hard on local restaurants but the way to overcome is to exceed expectation. Not hard with pasta.
Sorry Pags, you may have a new kid in town. Outstanding, real and very on point. Have some fun and reserve a table tonight. Food : 5/5
Came here to celebrate my boyfriends 21st birthday. After ordering almost immediately, didn t see our server for the next 40 minutes. And waited about 50 minutes after ordering to get our entrees and FIRST drink refill. The food is amazing, more on the expensive side but completely worth it, just wish the service would have been better for his birthday.
Food was fantastic, as was the service! The restaurant was a bit cold, will wear a sweater next time.
So yummy!!! (I visited Jan 8th, for dinner) They mentioned they were busy when we arrived... I was still impressed!! We were seated within minutes. The manager took our drink order, not a lot of beer options, but I like their selection! The breasticks are warm and soft. The beef carpaccio was delicious! Their braised beef melts in your mouth... and the tiramisu was so creamy and flavorful! ...also! For being busy, we didnt wait long at all, although we may have been at the tail end of the rush. 10/10, will return! Also also also!! I think I saw the manager on duty helping in the dish pit, which, if Im right, makes him pretty cool!
Food has historically been decent (though portions seemed about 15% smaller at this recent visit) which is why we have given gone to this place 3-4 times in the past year. Service has declined greatly which is too bad. Three of us arrived at 5PM and were not spoken to or greeted until 5:15PM. We didnt receive our drinks, including glasses of water, until 5:30PM. Food wasnt as good as previous visits and with the smaller portions at the same price, the value isnt there anymore. At the end of our meal, the waitress brought our bill and said she would bring the machine. We waited about 10 min, at an empty table, with credit card in hand and the waitress went about serving other tables and walked right by us. Finally, I left to put our toddler in the car and my husband waited at the table. Another 5 min passes, and the waitress hadnt returned so he ended up paying at the hostess stand. Could we have waved our hands to get her attention? Flagged her down with a loud Excuse me - can we pay? as she walked by our table? Yes, we could have but, we shouldnt have in a sit-down restaurant where meals are $25+. Wont be going back again! Edit: 0 stars for Service was a bit harsh, changed to 1 star.
Baked brie is so die for
Excellent food! Fresh home made pasta, good portions, excellent service. Great people! Vegetarian options: Has a variety of dishes!!!
We went for lunch. The pasta was delicious, and they have a nice variety and gluten-free options. The mussels and chorizo were excellent, very recommended! Friendly staff and fresh and yummy food. Will repeat for sure. Parking: Free parking lot right in the front.
Great place. Some really delicious pastas. A couple could be a bit more flavourful, but many are stellar. Unique cocktails. Great late night pasta special deals too.
Food was ok, but seemed over priced for pasta dish. My bacon ravioli dish had very little bacon taste. Service was good and atmosphere is good.
Dont get the seafood pasta 27 bucks for butter noodles 4 prawns with the shell on and 4 mussels which one didnt even have a mussel in what a joke. Can make the same dish for around 8 bucks and feed 4...
Nice vibe and good quality pastas. Solid 4 stars. Great selection.
Very disappointed by the service I received from our service. I was in Victoria to see my GF for late Valentine dinner however, our dinner was ruined by such a poor service. We were hosted well but our server was not not great at all. We didn t get any water to the table throughout the service and no side plates were given for our starter though a table right next to us of four ladies received his full attention. At the end of dinner I mentioned him i couldn t even drink my coke because it was too flat but he hasn t offered anything to take it out the bill or anything. I m the sous chef at JOEY Restaurant and been working for industry for 6 years but never have recieved such a bad service. Anyways we left him 15% tip because we didn t wanted to be unfair with kitchen staff or hostess who treated us well but that kid should not be serving I must say. Thanks, Shubham
Love this place !!! Best pasta
Food was excellent, and they were generous with the portions. Server was very nice and friendly. We will definitely be back. Parking: Great parking availability
Great pasta, however no pasta salad, what I wanted Parking: Lots Food : 5/5 |
6 people for dinner, 5 meals eventually arrived. 9 year old grandson didn t get spaghetti & meatball til 20 min later - we were told the kitchen lost the order . Not impressed Food
Their complementary Parmesan polenta bites at the start are so tasty. They have a great late night menu now. Their cocktail menu is well priced and very creative. Pastas were previously very good, but on a recent visit my husbands pastas and mine were swimming in oil and tasted pretty mediocre given the price.
Great service from Marnus and the other staff! We came with a big group and they accommodated small children and food allergies with aplomb!
First time eating here, and Lot 1 went above and beyond our expectations. The gentleman who was our server provided the best service I have seen in years. Very personable, attentive, and efficient at his job. Late night prices are reasonable and the cocktails are very good and the food as well. Will be recommending this place to our friends.
The pasta is always cooked really well, and the food tastes delicious! Service is a little slow, but otherwise a great dining experience
First time trying this spot and we are glad we did! Amazing food amazing service amazing drinks and overall a very worthwhile dining experience. Well be recommending this place to all of our friends and visitors that come to Victoria. The location is nice too not having to deal with downtown parking. I got the pesto seafood tagliatelle and it was The portion sizes are also very good! Parking: Parking should never be an issue at this location
Very good, plan to return soon house made pasta and choosing your own noodle was much appreciated
While the atmosphere is charming, and the service is pleasant, the dishes can be quite heavy on digestion. The abundance of ingredients and spices is a bit overwhelming. Do not expect an Italian-cuisine style past. Parking: Easy to park.
Didnt go there
Lots of pasta! Mediocre at best. Meatballs over done and can lots of filler
I was able to choose 5 or 6 types of pasta from several different menus. The pasta was well-cooked and chewy and delicious. The atmosphere of the store was calm, the staff communicated well with each other, and the service was good.
The ambience was great. The food was delicious. The staff as a whole seemed to coordinate well. No complaints
Great food, service, & ambience!
Charming staff. Tasty food well presented. Excellent options. A good complement of beverages. This place is sure to attract a dedicated clientele. A welcome addition to the Victoria dining scene!
Very friendly service. Very good portion, very good food! Nice dinner experience with them. Will go again
Great restaurant with late night specials. Staff is very accommodating. Convenient location. They need some locations in the lower mainland.
Ordered in four different pastas and a couple of sides and it was all the best pasta Ive had in a long time and I am a pasta fanatic. Didnt feel heavy and bloated after and everything was incredible. Please bring Lot 1 to Kelowna!!
Delicious food, great service and good mocktails! We got the four cheese and sea food with garlic bread everything so so good Food
Ordered both of the featured pastas, spaghetti & wagyu meatballs and beef carpaccio during lunchtime. The beef carpaccio was by far our favourite dish, highly recommend it! Unfortunately, we found the spaghetti pasta to be a little too thick and overdone. The shrimp ravioli (one of the monthly features) flavour was delicious, but there was hardly any filling in the raviolis which was disappointing especially for its price. The staff were friendly and attentive, and a nice bonus was the restaurant providing us with complementary polenta bites before our meal! Overall, we were satisfied with our experience here and would recommend the appetizers over the pastas. Vegetarian options: A number of their appetizers are vegetarian-friendly. They also have a couple pasta dishes without meat and a decent selection of salads. Parking: The restaurant is located in Island Home Center and has an ample amount of parking shared between customers going to various shops and restaurants.
My first time at Lot 1. I was there for a breif cocktail. It was the perfect drink with lychee garnishing. I sat at the bar. It wasnt too busy. Felt very comfortable. Staff were lovely and took my order right away. There was something special that happened.. while enjoying this drink, a staff member offered me 2 complimentary polenta bites which I accepted and was surprised by how good they were. Couldnt order a food dish due time constraints so this was really everything and more! Thank you lot 1 for your beautiful kindness. Vegetarian options: Options without meat.
Worst pasta we ve ever had. I can t believe the reviews are this good for these horrible pastas! 3 different pastas tasted the same. Never coming back :(
Breadsticks were amazing. Pasta was underdone, a bit under al dente. Expensive for what it was, but it was fine. I would go again for their happy hour.
Food is out of this world in flavor and cooked to perfection, presented in great artistic fashion. I brought home two bags of uncooked pasta and my daughter wants me fly back for more. Excellent service and relaxing atmosphere Food
Server was very nice! However food was subpar.
The food was amazing and the wine selection very decent. Happy hour pricing too!
Our service was over the top! Our servers Kiran and Amy were perfect with timings, menu recommendations and explanations taking time to explain each dish as well. Dietary restrictions: We had one guest celiac so great gluten free options and assurances
Great happy hour, favourite spot on Sunday, only issue was with the lobster featured pasta, there were a few pieces of shell in the dish.
Super kind workers, family friendly. Gave us complimentary parmasean polenta bites, which were delicious and calmed my kids down who were getting restless waiting for food. Will definitely return. Kid-friendliness: Did not mind or show any negative attitude when my 5 year old accidently knocked her drink off the table and made a mess of the floor. They serve childrens drinks with a lid and straw.
Great service and great cocktails! We were on the Patio with the dog (we later went outside the restaurant because there were a lot of wasps under my wooden terrace and it was cooler). The waitress was super nice, Happy Hours start at 2 p.m.! We had the pleasant surprise of having a free snack during our aperitif (polenta). I was the first time for me at Victoria!!! My son had taken spaghetti carbonara, accustomed to Italian pasta dishes, he found that these lacked sauce. I took the Moroccan pasta, I found it very good! It is a quality restaurant which has a choice of pasta and cocktails. I find it a little expensive for pasta in this quantity, but thats the price charged and its on Victoria so... I recommend and will definitely come back to taste another dish one of these 4
Delicious every single time.
Amazing place! Very friendly staffs super delicious food, beautiful environment. Very fair price. I strongly recommend this restaurant. (Located at Island Home Center shopping mall, Victoria)
Great service with extra touches to make you feel welcome. Good menu selection and high quality food.
What a surprise this nice restaurant was, we didnt know in advance where we would end up. We were just looking for a restaurant for pasta. But what a success this was at Lot 1 Pasta Bar. The food is really of top quality, I cant think of any criticism.
Good
Friendly service and great food.
Very friendly service, great quality, tasty food and drinks & decent prices. Probably the best mussels I ve ever had! Especially love going to their after 8:30 special.
Excellent food and service. The chorizo mussels were amazing.
Good food and Cocktails
The food and service were great. We felt comfortable despite the very dark atmosphere. The pasta and sauces were fresh and very tasty. Absolutely ok price for the good food. Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian menus. Parking: Large parking lot in front of the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: There is a small selection of childrens menus. Colored pencils and sheets are provided.
Great place. Especially love the late night menu! visiting from out of town and would say this is a new must stop ! the pasta was Devine- had the beef Canpanelle.
Pasta tasted frozen tbh. Not vegan friendly either. Not worth the $$.. cool atmosphere and service was great though.
We went here for dinner, in the mood for delicious pasta, and unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The service was lovely but the food was so oily and wasn t seasoned at all. The presentation was great but all I could taste was cream and oil. I don t think the cooks taste the food as they re preparing it and I didn t feel like the food was made with love. And, it was so expensive. $70 for 2 pasta dishes that didn t taste good. I would ve rather gone somewhere else.
Always always always great. Our server was Evan & he was awesome. Will definitely take friends there..
So good.
Great place! The portion is good and the vibes is great :)
I had to bring my dog to Victoria for radiation treatments for 3 days in a row, and Lot 1 Pasta Bar was only a couple minutes walk from the vet hospital. I came here 3 times and after the first time, my server, Aimee, always asked how our dog was doing. She was kind, compassionate, and her service was impeccable. The food was exceptional: the pasta always perfectly al denté and delicious! I only wish there was one in Nanaimo!
Ravioli and brie were amazing. Our server was super friendly and great. Only complaint is that we waited an extremely long time for our food but when it came it was very hot. They served complimentary polenta bites right after we sat down which was appreciated as we were so hungry.
Great place to eat, a little hard for people with dairy issues though.
The food and staff cannot be beat. Seriously both are amazing and we regularly dine at nice restaurants. Shout out to Ben the Mgr- Michelle the bartender and Suzanna . Tell them Pogi Steve recommended.
I come here for the late night pasta specials at 8:30pm. The service is great. The food is also great!
Finally tried this place after wanting to for years. It did not disappoint! The restaurant is very nicely decorated and well maintained/clean. Our waitress was great and our food was super delicious. Will definitely be back.
A new favourite! Our first time here and we were very impressed! Very clean with a high end yet casual atmosphere. Above average customer service! Very attentive without being overbearing. Amy was our server today and she was perfect! Delicious meal with what you can tell are high quality ingredients. Generous portions. Reasonable prices! Complimentary polenta bites were a lovely surprise and so delicious! Fast service; food arrived quickly and piping hot! Braised beef capanelle is definitely my recommendation!! I sampled my mothers spaghetti and meatballs, and the tomatoe sauce was delicious as well. Convenient location with ample free parking. Fully accessible. We will definitely be back! Parking: Lots of free parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible.
Used to be so much better pre covid. But the portion sizes are huge and can satisfy your pasta craving. The breadsticks are always good!!
The service is absolutely incredible. The servers are genuinely cheerful and glad to serve you. The food is incredible and super flavourful. The atmosphere is super relaxing and good to have conversations.
All around the best restaurant Ive been to. Amazing service and amazing food/drinks.
Was craving homemade gnocchi and Lot 1 didn t disappoint. Each bite was heavenly and so satisfying and filling that I took half home and refried it the next day with more mushrooms and brie. Make sure to make a reso for dinner!
Fantastic
Ive had really amazing food experiences here in the past but I was really disappointed today. Tried the spaghetti and meatballs for the first time, meatballs were great but the sauce was OVERWHELMING with raw garlic. So much that I couldnt finish the pasta. I also saw bits of other types of pasta mixed in. No slight to the service staff passing out the takeout orders (they earned the stars because the food didnt) For $18 the pasta was
Worst service ever
Everything else is good yet the surrounding noise is way too loud. Becareful of your hearing Food
The pasta is amazing however, there was hair in my food and when you order bacon and it doesn t come with the order, it s a little disappointing. Other than that, very good food. For delivery, 3 pasta bowls and desert was just over 100$, I would say the food was great, but I would consider that very very expensive. I cannot complain as I did place the order regardless.
For lunch I decided I needed a good Caesar salad. Lot 1 Pasta Bar did not disappoint! Was greeted quickly and seated. Offered water and or a drink. It was lunch so just water. Asked how there Caesar was and Astrid said she had personally never had it but people have raved about it. Ok Caesar salad it is please. Came out within 12 minutes along with a sample of polenta, nice touch. Salad was large! Had a ton of homemade bacon and about 7 roasted garlic cloves it it. Super delish, and a reasonable price for a salad that size and with the amount of bacon. My only wish was it had a bit more dressing. But I do like a lot of dressing so it would be fine for 90% of folks. Service was top notch and I will be back. Oh first time there too.
