Set in a stylish, eco-conscious building, this trattoria serves classics like pasta, pizza & wine.
Wanted to provide a comprehensive review of our experience at this establishment. The food is bland, without seasoning and simply does not embody good Italian food.
It's the BEST Italian restaurant I've ever visited with a nice atmosphere, dishes, and kind servers. The vongole fettuccine was just perfect, as well as the queen pizza, although my family and I had to wait quite a long time. But it was worth it, though. Tiramisu, which was a dessert, was even better than any other cafés. I'd like to visit here again!
Great food and cocktails. Had a very nice birthday supper here with family. The pizza and pasta dishes were very good and the service was excellent.
This place was amazing where do I start, first off the atmosphere was amazing the lighting perfect the vibes made you feel like the grandma was in the back of the kitchen cooking up your meal! The food top tier!!! The customer service specifically Haida was 10/10! This place is a must eat!🍝🍕🇮🇹🤌
Lovely atmosphere ~ so warm and cozy. Our server ( I think her name was Shelby but, I apologize if that's incorrect) was very friendly and attentive. She was great! I loved my Spaghetti Aglio Olio Peperoncino and our niece loved her meat lasagna. My husband and I did not love the Tagliatelle with meat sauce, though. We both thought that the sauce was too sweet. The noodles were perfectly cooked but, the sweetness of the sauce was off-putting. The Caesar salad was tasty but we would have enjoyed more dressing on it. Overall, a nice dining experience. I would come back for the spaghetti.
What a treat! Quinn took care of us and she was just lovely. Wine was great and food was even better. The passion pannacotta took my breath away. Music and vibe are perfect. Definitely worth a try, especially if you like pasta!
This restaurant has good food, but it is not worth the price as the portion sizes are small. The Food: The food is quite good. However, due to the small portion sizes, we ordered a pizza to share among three people, and we all ordered main courses and desserts. I feel that I need to be a little bit more harsh on the food. Because the prices are pretty high, When I went there, I ordered the special pasta of the day, which came with no meat or vegetables, just a cheese sauce and noodles for 30.00. When you compare this to similar restaurants in the fine dining around Victoria, it leaves something to be desired: either the price needs to be corrected, or protein needs to be added as an option. There is also no free bread which at these prices is a huge disappointment. We ended up paying $5 for 3 slices of their bread. At this point, I would opt to go to a different Italian restaurant within the Victoria area based on pricing and fortune sizes. However, if you have never been to this restaurant, it is worth a visit at least once. The food is small is still very small. I would recommend ordering one of their base menu items and not a special menu item. My fiance ordered the lasagna, which was reasonably sized. For the desserts, we ordered the Tiramisu, which is by far the best I've ever had! Atmosphere/ Service. The atmosphere is one of the top reasons to go to the restaurant. We went to sit on the inside patio within the atrium building, which was a very unique and fun experience. The service was excellent, as you would expect at a fine-dining restaurant. It is also easy to get same-day reservations, a massive plus for a fine dining restaurant within Victoria on a weekend.
1. One of the best restaurants in the town. 2. A must visit place if you looking for authentic food 3. Every items are delicious 😋 4. Definitely recommended. 5. Keep in mind: the price may seem to be a bit of higher side, BUT they deserve to keep the price at that level because of their absolutely good food preparation.
I m vegan and I only had a few choices. Tell them to buy some vegan cheese!!!! Apparently Victoria is the most friendly vegan city in Canada!! Pagliacci s has several vegan choices on their menu. Saving the planet and this is how we get treated!!!
Food was amazing, the spaghetti in particular. First courses took a while but second courses were out quick.
Came to Zambries for the first time recently with my family, WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. The ambiance, staff and food were all absolutely on point. I had the opertunity to speak to one of the barbacks (I believe his name was Cameron), incredibly knowledgable young man. He was welcoming kind, professional and hilarious. To me, this exemplified what qualiuty service should entail. Cheers.
Absolutely love it here. The staff are amazing and the food is delicious
Good casual and friendly restaurant.
Did a family dinner with 20 people and it was great. Service was spot on and the food was excellent.
A 25 year institution in Victoria, this Italian restaurant serves! I was craving spaghetti and meatballs and although it wasn t on the menu they created it for me. Their homemade tomato sauce and fresh pasta elevated this dish. You can pick up a jar at their gorgeous Atrium location, too.
Went here with six family members for my birthday dinner. We waited over 30 minutes for the server to even come to our table. She took our drink order, but would not take an order for appetizers. She said that we had to order appetizers AND mains together, we could not just order appetizers, even though we were very hungry by then. My brother-in-law had eaten there many times, and had never experienced this rule before . He went to have a word with a server he was familiar with, to no avail. 15 minutes later we got our drinks. Another 15 minutes and she came to take our meal order. The food, when we finally got it after 1.5 hours, was very good. Too bad our overall dining experience was ruined by such poor service. Ill never eat there again.
9 people well accommodated Pork shoulder was very good, lamb was also very good. Will be back great waitress. Need more gluten-free options would be the only problem a few options not clearly identified waitress very helpful.
A friend of mine invited me to this place for dinner. I usually go to Pagliacci s for Italian food and they have an amazing Focaccia which is free so I was excited to try it at Zambri s. Unfortunately, they CHARGED us for bread which was shocking to me and it was below average Focaccio. Really not worth the price. I also ordered the Zambri s Cesare salad with the Tagliatelle with Meat Sauce. The Cesare salad was meh. The Tagliatelle with Meat Sauce was not eatable. The sauce was so runny and no flavour. I would definitely not go back and not recommend this place.
Great food and company, except it was too noisy so could only talk to friends closest to us or had to shout across the table to talk to others at the other end.
The food was great but the portion size was really small. Overall a great experinece but a bit pricey.
Meh, served the thinnest most over cooked steak.
This place is amazing! Great atmosphere, service and food!!
Recently had my first (and second!) experience at Zambris and it was perfection in every way.
Have been a frequent customer since they opened their doors many years ago. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing food experience last night. Ive always really enjoyed the Caesar salad and pea and gorgonzola pasta, - theyve pretty much been my go tos. I recognize that the salad was a side salad but it was tiny. I dont even think there were 2 romaine leaves on the plate, very little dressing and 1 crouton. with respect to the pasta. You couldnt smell or taste the gorgonzola cheese in it all and what was there was nondescript and very bland. I didnt eat it. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Good service. Very tasty food
The restaurant s interior is clean, beautiful and its vibe is upscale. I had and really enjoyed the Orecchiette with House Made Sausage & Rapini, Broccoli Purée. It was delicious. You will be offered extra Parmesan and chili flakes. If you feel like a lighter meal, some of the menu items are offered in half portion size which can also be filling without a side or drink. Some cocktails can be made as mocktails which is nice. The menu will indicate if this is an option. My friend had the Coastal Collins (made it a mocktail because she was going to drive after dinner) and the presentation was great. The service was also great. The location is also downtown and so getting to the restaurant is convenient.
Delicious food every time. I have been to Zambris many times, it was recommended to me by my seat mate on the plane when I moved to Victoria! Ive come here for big family group dinners, dinner with friends and for date nights. This is the perfect atmosphere for all. Consistently delicious food and many vegetarian options and some vegan too. Theres something for everyone here. Definitely a staple in Victoria . Vegetarian options: Seasonal veggie starter options (brocollini, chanterelles or morrels with polenta in the summer), spaghetti aglio e olio, focaccia, marinated olives, funghi pizza, vegan pizza
We had a larger party of 8 all part of a bachelorette group. Ian was our server and he was absolutely amazing and made our night. He made us feel so welcome and was super helpful and informative when it came to menu knowledge. The food was absolutely delicious and I can t wait to come back to try more items. Thank you Ian for a great experience
Great pizza, thank you!
What a delicious and well managed restaurant! Amazing service, good food & wine in a nifty location.
Our food was delicious, our service divine! Emma took great care of us and her suggestions were spot on. Try the panacotta, it s special. Maybe our favourite dinner in years. Well done! Mille Grazie!
Best of the best every single time .kudos to the Zambri s team!
Amazing cuisine delivered by great knowledgeable staff. Great wine selection, beautiful features, they never fail to provide an amazing night out. I just needed to edit my review to say that me and a friend were in tonight and Peter was our bartender; he gave the best service Ive ever had in house, if you want great service sit at the bar if you want the full experience!
LOVE THIS PLAAAAACE due to our server, Pieter. He made us feel so welcome and created a great dining and drinking experience. 11/10.
Came very highly recommended, but was a bit of a disappointment for the price.
Great atmosphere! The service is old school and exceptional. I had the steak and was not disappointed but the highlight was the caprese salad!
Great experience! good wine, good service and great dinner
I showed up for my birthday dinner with friends. We sat at the table without a server showing up for 25 minutes, when we decided to leave. I wrote that this happened on my Opentable app. The manager messaged and said can we send you a gift card to make up for this experience. I said yes. They never sent the gift card, even after I followed up twice. So I would say Zambris is 100% perception. 0% follow through.
violated both provincial and Federal law, even after being informed of said violations I have texts to prove.. nobody ever set me up on pay works, I never got any emails or transfers, finally received roe on Jan 22. still dont have last pay or tips. only threats ever made by me were to report yous to gov in trying to get my ROE and final pay for over 6 weeks. If yourself or chef Julia had obeyed the laws and done your jobs properly there wouldnt be a problem. All of this done 3 weeks before Christmas with everyone knowing I am on prov disability . with limited income. gleefully ruined Christmas!! Now waiting for my T4 to do taxes, past Feb 28th is yet another federal offense. Are yous trying for a record??
a great place to treat yourself. sit at the bar and have Peter make you a drink. you will love it.
Great place to get food and drinks. Peter the bartender made my night!
Food was overpriced for what it was. Server was very ambiguous when we asked about substitution. Removed the potatoes and charged full price for the pasta. Asked if the had bread and he asked if we wanted some sent to the table. Received the focaccia and oil and balsamic, again, extra price. Table was sticky. I was disappointed by the experience as we were in Victoria for a get away and did some research on Italian restaurants. This one had a very high rating, but nothing like exceptional.
Absolutely fantastic food! Make reservations
Best italian food in Victoria, with truly exceptional service. Go say hi to Ian and Cameron behind the bar, and drink a cocktail or two.
Nice restaurant, nice service, tasty and Italian Perfetto
Well organized and friendly customer service
The server was very condescending when I asked questions about the menu. The focaccia bread is $5 and it comes cold and is very bland, oil + balsamic is an extra charge ($4) We tried two different pastas and they were very bland, definitely not worth the money. The server threw desert menus on our table without even asking if we were interested in desert. Overall if you re looking for flavourful food don t go here. There are so many places in Victoria that are much better. Don t waste your time and money!
I dined at Zambris the other night and sat in the atrium - great service and lovely atmosphere! My pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for! I had the Passionfruit Panna Cotta for dessert which was incredibly delicious! Thank you Zambris - I ll be back again next time I m in Victoria!
What a fantastic meal we had here on our first night in Victoria. Ian, our waiter, was the perfect mix of helpful, fun, easygoing, and attentive. He correctly steered me towards one of the best pasta dishes Ive ever had, an allAmatriciana that was based on a white sauce instead and... it was phenomenal. So much going on and done so well, with homemade rigatony noodles. Incredible. We also had a fantastic fish special as well as their great burrata and locally foraged mushrooms. It was a fantastic meal, but Ian really brought it up to the next level for us and we couldnt have asked for more. Great tiramisu, too.
Went for lunch on a Friday. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff attentive and friendly. The ambience is a relaxed elegance. The freshly made focaccia was superb. Also highly recommend the crispy broccoli. Our party tried the Spaghetti Aglio Olio Peperoncino, Tagliatelle with meat sauce and Spaghetti with tomato sauce, which were all delicious. We will definitely be back!
Consistently one of the best restaurants in Victoria. Great service and food, and they re always happy to accommodate vegans. Highly recommend!
Amazing service, she went above and beyond and the food was so good.
Zambri s A solid two. Don t try the Cesar, or the olives. The house made focaccia also a solid two Lots of room for improvement. Food : 2/5 |
My husband and I always have Zambris on our list of places to eat for a special occasion. The staff are very knowledgable and warm. They know all the ingredients in every single dish. Their ability to make suggestions that will elevate your dining experience is exceptional. The restaurant itself is very well laid out and tasteful. The floor to ceiling windows lets the natural flood in and gives for good people watching in the later evening. If you are sat in the atrium, it gives a different more contemporary dining experience. All areas of the restaurant are very comfortable to dine in. Food, of course! It is well portioned quality food. Everything just melts in your mouth. Someone at our table always has to order the lasagna! It is so well made. You cannot be disappointed by anything on the menu here! Parking: Paid street parking right outside. Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome here. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp is nearby.
I took my friend for her birthday to Zambris and it turned out to be a disappointing experience. First, food tasted were way below the level of what any decent Italian restaurants serve. Secondly, the server was nice but quite disengaged, and we had to explicitly call her every time we needed something because she only checked on us once. And finally, Ive noticed TWO LARGE BUGS in my water glass. I let the server know and she just said that it must have been from the plants (we were sitting in the Atrium area next to the plant pots) and simply changed the water without trying to make up for this incident. Her reaction made it clear that it was not the first time people found those bugs in their drinks or food. I would expect any respectful restaurant to put screens, remove the plants, or find any other long-term solution to this problem instead of just changing the water post-factum. I dont want to think about how many bugs I consumed before noticing them. I am never coming to that place again. UPDATE - responding to the restaurant reply below: I would like to emphasize that I did not have a single fruit fly in my glass of water but two large (about 0.5 cm long) bugs which seemed something like the picture from below (taken from google, I did not take the picture of my glass of water). So please conduct one more thorough investigation before posting untruthful information in response to your consumer s complain.
My sister had TWO GIANT INSECTS in her water and her experience was downplayed by the waiter and then the manager made it look like it was an accidental fruit fly. Please take an entomology class and stop gaslighting your customers, this experience is not acceptable.
I went to Zambri s for the first time in January 2024 and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere is beautiful in the evenings. I was excited to visit again for my birthday in May, but the experience left me extremely disappointed. The focaccia wasn t as soft as I remembered, and it wasn t served with butter, oil or vinegar. This went unnoticed as we also shared the burrata, but I distinctly recall receiving butter when I ordered the focaccia during my first visit in January. I ordered the tagliatelle with meat sauce for my main which tasted fine. We ordered a tiramisu to share for dessert but I found it rather bitter and not as fluffy as I d liked, but I chalk this up to being picky about my tiramisu. The server was nice, but she seemed busy. She walked by our table multiple times when we were looking for help and did not check in with our food. Unfortunately, the most egregious incident that led me to writing this review was that my friend found two pale grey/pink worms floating in her water. I m not sure if it came from the atrium plants (claimed by the server) or from the kitchen. The server seemed confused when I asked for all of our water to be replenished. I was quite nervous to continue eating my food by the plants for the rest of the night. We were not presented the opportunity to move to another table nor were we approached by a manager for an apology. In response to my friend s review wherein she specified finding worms in her water, Zambri s refuted that they performed an investigation (even though the server immediately took our water away) and there was only a small fruit fly . Even if that were true, it s a bit comical that Zambri s is saying small fruit flies are acceptable in their food and drinks. A final heads up for folks out there: my birthday wasn t acknowledged by the restaurant staff, so manage your expectations accordingly if you re planning a special occasion at Zambri s.
I just want to comment on the slew of ridiculous comments by this group of young women who are without a doubt the most difficult and deplorable a group of customers a restaurant would ever not want. I was actually there the same night as a zambris regular and this woman literally had one fruit fly in her drink and chose to blow it up presumably for attention?? I have no idea with this generation. They are essentially trying to defraud this business and based on their prior reviews this seems to be a recurring theme. These girls give their generation a bad name. Please stop with the lies and the slandering or I expect daddies gonna cut you off.
A must go!! Amazing good, service and atmosphere. I enjoyed everything from the drinks, apps, dinner and dessert. Highly recommend! Especially if you re looking for Italian food. One of the best restaurants I ve been to in a long time!!!
Zambris offers a fantastic dining experience with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff. The food is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an exceptional meal!
This place is awesome the closest Ive found to some great Italian food! Pizzas are to die for and the pasta is fantastic! Im Italian and I highly recommend this place. Ive been 2 years in a row for my Birthday I had the orrecciette with rapini puree. Wow! To die for!!! The desserts are wonderful. The Panna cotta was yum! Ty for the best service as well!!! And I had a proper Negroni sbagliato!!!
I attended at Zambris on a Wednesday night in the main dining room with a group of 14 people spread out over 2 long tables. The staff assigned to us was attentive and informative with great recommendations on both food and beverages. Many of us partook in the halibut special which was cooked perfectly with some accompanying pureed vegetables. The atmosphere was a lot louder than expected (considering as a group of 14 we expected to be quite loud ourselves), to the point that conversations were difficult and some of our party had a hard time hearing our waitresses. Overall it was a fantastic evening and we would attend again. Thank you!
Almost as good as Nonnas
Always a wait here. So disorganized. The server saw the drink of ginger ale she served me explode all over my new dress and said nothing. Just a giddy 22 some odd year old laugh with a flip of the hand and off she went. Hmmm that wont be at the top of my list next time Im feeling pasta No follow up. Nothing. The irresponsible.
Always a lovely dinner here, and we usually find another great wine to look for after trying recommendations from here. Service was exemplary, friendly and attentive staff; and the meal was superb. Thank you!
This was our first time and it was an amazing experience Would highly recommend.
Terrible experience in the new year eve, we got a feeling that the server just wanted us to finish our meal and go out! We felt so uncomfortable. In the middle of our dinner she offered us a box, again after some minutes she asked if we want her to pack our food. It was about 45 minutes we stayed there with a terrible experience. At the end she brought the machine and she herself chose 18% tip. This was our first time in our whole life with this service. I wont be back and I would say there are so many wonderful Italian restaurant in Victoria which are so welcoming. So, if you want to have a good experience do not go to Zambries.
Great service and great atmosphere
We sat in the Atrium it was a lovely experience EXCEPT they have wooden chairs moving across stone tiles the noise is disturbing to say the least. Should be addressed.
We went here for their Dine around special menu. We were greatly disappointed. Considering the cost we expected a fine dining experience but was met with sub par food. The only thing I enjoyed was the service.
Small menu serving Italian fare in an intimate dining room. I found the food to be a bit overpriced and didnt like that I couldnt adjust toppings on any of the pizzas. Major flop on the pizza crust, need 2 hands to eat a slice.
Must eat in Victoria, a romantic place
Upon arriving the host worked to seated us despite the fact we didn t have reservations. Food was amazing.. (Vegan and Funghi Pizza), as were our cocktails. Wait staff were attentive and really friendly. I don t typically leave reviews but this place deserved one. Will be back and will recommend to others!
This was the first visit for me in many years, the first for my partner ever, and the first for my daughter in a few months and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We opted for The Trinity to start: olives, focaccia, and olive oil and balsamic, which were perfect, especially as the focaccia was house made and warm. My daughter opted for the meat lasagne, my partner the spaghetti con vongole special, while I went for the pollo: crispy chicken thighs with roasted potatoes, broccolini, and a mustard cream sauce. All were superb. We paired our meals with a Sicilian Etna Bianco. For dessert we opted for the blueberries ricotta cake, with vanilla gelato, which was a wonderful way to wrap up this great experience. Our thanks to great waiting staff, especially Emma who made us feel so welcome.
We had the Casare salad, Spaghetti aglio olio peperoncino, and vegan pizza. The salad was flavourful, but I found the size of the romaine too large and presentation lacking, also expected some more darker leaves indicating better and fresher quality. The pizza was quite delicious and the pasta as well, but needed more peppers in it. The tiramisu was mediocre at best. Its flavour was passable, but it was not made well at all, in the layers. The top had crunchy unsoaked biscuits and the bottom was very wet and pooled with alcohol (last bites inedible). It was not well presented or balanced. You could not spoon easily through the layers at all as expected. Overall the food at Zambri s had good flavour, lacking some preparation and finesse. The daily fresh sheet had a brassica tops with anchovy, lemon and grated ricotta, had the best flavour profile and was well balanced. Vegetarian options: Vegan pizza was well balanced and delicious, the vegetables were diverse and well seasoned. I was happy they didn t use store bought vegan cheese, but a house made would ve elevated the pizza, either a vegan ricotta/mozzarella or a nut parm would be amazing.
Great dining experience
Amazing service and food!!
Good
Great food and awesome service
The food was good, but it s overpriced (as are the bottles of wine). They don t give you any complimentary bread or butter, which is a little disappointing, although maybe that is standard these days? Finally, be forewarned that the dessert they advertise as a cookie is literally a cheap wafer (not a cookie) with a single scoop of ice cream, and it costs $14
Great wait staff. Marcus was great. They care about your experience. Lasagna was superb, but while the sauce was classic Italian, my preference is for a thick, deep red, flavorful sauce. Very interesting location - you could eat inside of a mall-type setting or in a street view with full-height windows.
Great home made pasta dish.
I still can t get over how absolutely delicious our meal was!! The pasta was remarkable, it was delicate, with a perfect contrast of complimenting flavours. Service was on point, and high touch point without pretentiousness. Out of all the meals I ve had in Victoria this one tops the list! Make sure to go here, wear your pants with an elastic waist band and order the extra sides. Worth every penny. Chefs kiss
This is a lovely place to take someone you love. The manager, Emily, was amazing. Friendly and helpful, and made our date night feel special. The food was excellent, and the highlight was the smoked chorizo. Our server Quinn always checked in to make sure we were good, and the wine recommendation was spot-on (a nice Italian red). We were very happy with our evening.
All systems go! This place is seriously great and also cool people! Great people watching too! All around great experience!
Food was great! Prices were high, ambiance was nice and service was good. Favorite meal was the spaghetti not traditional and a little spicy, but so good. Lasagna was just okay. Bread was good, but you have to pay extra.
For a place that specializes in pizza and pasta you wouldnt expect them to run out of pizza at 7pm. Pasta was good though and portions were big even if it isnt what we were hoping for. Winelist is excellent. Appies were good too. Service was inconsistent though and wait staff felt like they were a little overwhelmed. Had trouble getting their attention at times, were told our reservation was about to be given up when they meant another party because they hadnt checked who we were when we called. Dont think I would return on my own but if someone else was excited to go I would give it another go.
Excellent restaurant, high quality, Tastes good, good service and atmosphere. Food
Just an Excellent experience! Great food, well prepared and exceptional quality. Cameron our server was absolutely fantastic as well. Highly attentive, professional and super friendly! Thank you for a lovely evening!
Did a wine tasting dinner here, fabulous
Really enjoyed my meal here, staff are wonderful and the food was great.
Delicious food, friendly server, loved the ambience! The single meatball my husband ordered was delicious. Also highly recommend their Tiramisu!
cant help the delivery guy Parking: downtown victor Food : 3/5 |
Very nice restaurant, quite a unique menu knowledgeable staff. We really enjoyed our time there
Loved the ease to reserve a table last minute, great service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious meals!!
Great server, okay drinks, passable but not impressive food.
My spouse and I had a private dinner in the atrium for our wedding. We had 11 people altogether and it was fantastic. The food was wonderful, we ordered the antipasti to share as a starter and that was also wonderful. We had a range of dietary needs: vegan, vegetarian, no alcohol, gluten free, and each option was perfect and the service was excellent. Great recommendations for mocktails as well. The atroum itself is also perfect: quiet, and we could all hear each other perfectly. The only downside was we too much food (we got 4 courses and antipasti) but that is not Zambris fault, we just ordered too much:)
Was very delicious. Came here to celebrate a special occasion and had the best time.
We went for lunch and were graciously served a delicious and authentic Italian meal. I would absolutely recommend it.
Worth a visit with good atmosphere and fantastic service and of course great food
Delicious food. Not great service - quite rushed and cold.
Had dinner there last night. Food and service were both poor. I order a half portion dinner and they brought me a full order. They said they would only charge me half, but they charged me full price. The pasta mediocre, at best. The cauliflower appetizer was warm in spots and cold in others. Will not be back.
One of the best restaurant in this town
Went for a client dinner. Great food, ambience and Service. Highly recommended
Should have been a 5 star kind of night. Great location, great food. Server sucked. I really wanted the beef tenderloin, but asked to change the side as I hate blue cheese. Got refused. Asked the server to pass my displeasure on to the manager that such a simple request couldn t be received. Never heard from the manager to acknowledge my complaint. Likely won t be back!
Exceptional experience. Service, wine & food pairings and overall ambience are 5-star. We will be back. One of the best Italian restaurants in town.
Fantastic waitress with an amazing memory for her regulars, who apparently I dined with. Food was simple, but had great flavors. Nice to enjoy a Bery good house wine selection too!
There are quite a few excellent food places in Victoria, but for relaxed-elegant atmosphere (in the downtown area), Zambri s wins the crown. Yes, it s not cheap but the prices are not prohibitive either (they sure are at several other eateries in town). Yes, the portions are small, and so what? I order one dish and I ve never walked out hungry. Love and love this place!
I ate food, and drank a drink. Also there was conversation. No horse meat, but I guess that is to be expected.
Great dining experience. Not cheap, small portions, but it is fine dining after all, and the best in Victoria. Food : 4/5
After all these years Still the absolute best. The pork shoulder was ridiculous! Succulent, tender and rich Had to have a side of the polenta too! Molten magic.
My recent dining experience at Zambris was a delightful journey of shared flavours among family and friends. Exploring a variety of dishes was a highlight, and among the options, the pork tenderloin and the broccoli appetizers left a lasting impression. The tenderloins succulence and the appetizers flavourful blend truly stood out, earning my heartfelt recommendation. While the service at Zambris was undoubtedly attentive, and incredibly quick service I couldnt help but notice a slight inclination toward a more formal and robotic demeanor. As someone who appreciates a warmer and more personalized touch, this aspect left me yearning for a more genuine connection.
Our recent dinner was okay but not great. The service was quite slow and confused. Drinks took forever to arrive. The food was uninspired and each person in our group found something about their meal that they didnt like. Certainly not good enough for the prices charged. We wont be back.
Really liked the food and dining experience. Would go back for the lasagna. The Brussel Sprouts were deep fried a bit too much.
Entire experience was amazing! The quality and portion sizes exceeded my expectations. I had a great birthday dinner here and our server Haida was very knowledgeable and energetic - absolutely loved her vibe. Will be back!
Great place for a slightly casual but special dinner and drinks.
Zambri s is always good. Both pizza and pasta are a particular favorite of mine. I ve always had very good service and awesome drinks. A staple of Victoria that I highly recommend!
The food, the service, the ambiance, (especially when seated in the Atrium courtyard) is the perfect recipe that turns every Zambris visit into an extra special one.
Zambris is a great place to dine. Excellent atmosphere. Delicious food. Attentive staff. Great place all around.
Our server was absolutely amazing!! Will definitely try again due to the amazing service. However all the food was not very good at all...
Excellent food , excellent service , great ambience and atmosphere. Decent wine , great cocktails. Loved it all, will be back for sure.
Focaccia was good would have been great it was warm. Had the house red, cant remember what It was called but it was really nice. Food, filled me up nicely and had a decent balance. Not too strong or overbearing while having an overall great taste
Ordered their seafood dish of the day which was halibut and it was good. The server at our table was a bit odd with me and my colleague. She was nice but didnt collect the empty plates from my colleague when she was long finished with her meal while trying to take my plate while I was still eating and working on my plate. That was slightly off-putting to say the least especially while the two of us were having a good conversation being regularly interrupted then not clearing the actual empty plates sitting on the table each time. Im hoping next experience will be better but its not enough for me to feel convinced in returning on my own accord.
Fantastic food and staff!
Great food and great service. Not for those who do t like gluten!
The lasagna was delicious and the service was great. Thanks!
Wonderful experience! The space is beautiful. Cocktail and wine selection is nicely curated. Food is cheaper than I expected and had nice hues of authentic Italian cuisine. 10/10
Fabulous food and ambiance.
High-end Italian restaurant. We came for dinner on a Saturday night after booking with OpenTable. The place was really busy, with a couple of large events, plus normal people eating in their dinning area. We had to wait 20 minutes to get our table ready. We order 3 items: linguini, lasagna and chicken parmigiana to sadly discover that the 3 of them used the same tomato sauce. The food was good. Our food arrived to our table earlier than our drinks. The deserts were phenomenal.
We had a small dinner at Zambri s one week ago. Right from the outside of planning the general manager Jayme was wonderful. She answered all emails quickly and promptly and addressed any concerns. We were pleasantly surprised when they allowed us to set a wedding favour at each place setting as well as a place card. The table was gorgeous! We had a lovely private room with appropriate candles and lighting. The wine selections were fantastic! As an added pleasant surprise they even had a congratulations menu at each place setting as well it was lovely! Highly recommended! Thank you!
Good food. Did an amazing job at managing a group of 40.
Food is decent. Great tomato flavors. Noodles perfectly cooked. Service very attentive. Acoustics are terrible for anyone with hearing challenges. Not a particularly good value. You will be hard pressed to get out of there for less than $100 without drinks. Cocktails are all around $17. Even a mocktail in a tall glass and a lot of ice was $12.
Very good restaurant for Italian food.
Good vibe. Food was good, but expected a bit more flavor from an Italian restaurant. Would come again to try a few more dishes.
Nice and good Italian
Great meal! First time since the pandemic and really enjoyed it. The inside patio is great in any weather. Started with the buttery gorgonzola paired with the fluffy but chewy focaccia. The olives werent warmed (how we normally like them), but good. Mains were the Gnocchi with sage butter and seared tuna loin. Both well presented and tasty (filling too). Finished with the velvety glass of tiramisu and a Branca menthe and an Amaro.
Meals not so much. Service not so much. Location pretty good.
It was nice and pastas and appetizers where great. Ceaser salad had homemade dressing but was underwhelming
Great service Good food Nicely done A great experience
Dining experience has always made me come back
Portions were generous but was not wowed by the flavours. Was a bit of a let down for our last dinner in town.
We went here for a family dinner. It is a bit more casual than other Italian restaurants in town. Ordered a cocktail (Sicilian 75) and it was so good so we ended up ordering another one. For foods, we ordered prosciutto pizza, chicken thigh, crispy pork shoulder and Orecchiette. Foods were all good, very nice wine selection as well. Gladly paid about $200 bill for four people.
Nice place horrible food
A nice feeling of patio, even if you are in an atrium. Food pleased all of our diverse group. Wine choices were reasonably priced and good.
Top quality. Good times thankyou.
Classic North American Italian food, graciously served in clinical surroundings - well, glass and wood.
Atmosphere was very nice but food was mid and our waitress stopped at our table 3 times the entire 1.5 hrs we were there. Overall disappointing
Simply love their food and selection of wine
Loved the food enjoyed the atmosphere. Great Italian restaurant.
Just go
Great service. Loved my experience
My daughter and I are foodies and Zambris was ok. But what I appreciated most about our experience was the service. Our hostess and server were super pleasant and attentive. Probably the best service weve seen in Victoria especially since staffing shortages usually results in us being overlooked or forgotten about. I could be wrong but Im vaguely remembering a POS system that didnt automatically suggest a tip (usually beginning at 18% here in Victoria). I find this annoying to say the least as it seems the industry is normalizing tips as something that should be automatically given rather than something the server should actually work for. I do make note of those establishments and do go out of my way to custom tip in accordance with the service received, sometimes lower feeling the audacity of those restaurants that start at 18%. Now I cant fully remember as we were running out to a show, but if Zambris doesnt employ this POS system, good for them for not having to rely on this forced tipping regime. This was good old fashioned, classy hospitality the way I remember it to be, and the first super pleasant dining out experience Ive had in a long time.
AH-MAZING!!! The food, unbelievable... The wine, who needs to fly to Italy... The service, impeccable.. The ambience, just right The pricing, so reasonable, was pleasantly surprised... The return visit.... As soon as I can Thanks!
Zambris has always been a favourite restaurant. So, when my husband and I were planning our wedding, it was a total fluke that we were ordering takeout and then mentioned events. About a year later, we were hosting our small wedding reception in the atrium of their building. And as always, Zambri s delivered on the food. From the antipasto, pizza and amazing cocktails to the drool worthy multi-course tasting menu. They nailed every dishes, each more delicious than the last. The crispy broccoli and panna cotta were especially a hit. Not a single guest went home feeling hungry. In fact, in the months since our wedding, our guests have raved about how amazing the food was. It truly stood out. In addition to the food, I have to mention the staff. They really went above and beyond. I never saw an empty wine glass. We had little ones at the reception, and the staff were so kind and patient. We can t wait to celebrate our wedding anniversary for years to come at Zambri s. This place truly holds a special place in our hearts.
A++ the broccoli is hands down the best omfggg! Also the services was fast and very friendly!
Best pizza I ve had in a long time. The sauce was amazing. So authentic. Naomi the manager is the best, and Jit makes the best drinks ever! I ll be back :)
Great Italian restaurant and a fun team.
Private room was great for our function.
Food was excellent but the service was slow, likely because the place was packed. The glass walls amplify every little sound, so much so, that its hard to have a quiet or intimate conversation. I still recommend it but not for an anniversary.
Great place. Had the Crispy Pork Shoulder and it was fantastic. Good service.
Came here for a dinner and ordered the bread for an appetizer and was happy with it until we received the bill that the small bowl of oil that was supposed to come with it was pretty much the same cost as the bread itself. If we were informed of the extra cost for it we would have never gotten it. As well being charged for an extra drink for a refill. If it is not free refills staff should be alerting customers they will be paying another 5 dollars for a pop. The food itself was mediocre for the price. We will not be returning and I Will actively be telling friends and co workers to never come here.
Nothing better than spending a few hours with Jit at the bar. Food was great. Drinks were phenomenal. Always a good time.
The food was excellent however, we happened to get the worst table of the place for our reservation. Sandwiched between the kitchen and the server desk. Despite being within inches of the servers, we were forgotten at least three times and waited long for each step of dinner, including to pay. Thankfully the floor manager came to the rescue a few times, and had a good sense of humour. Food was 5 star, service and table was 1 star. Despite this, we enjoyed ourselves, the wine helped.
The best service I ve ever experienced. Sat at the bar and was greeted by my excellent bartender Jit. Not only did Jit exhibit his superb bar knowledge but he took care of me and went over and beyond what I expected. Once again I have never experienced such high quality service. Thank you Jit, you will be seeing by me again!
I had an insalata mista. Love the freshness variety of greens and the fennel. Then I really enjoyed the meat lasagna with a nice glass of merlot. First time sitting at the bar here always an experience.
We dined with 4 other couples and I have to say Zambri s delivered. Their food is top notch, service was excellent and all of us enjoyed very much. I highly recommend this little gem.
Nice place but portions are small for the price
