Everything was delicious, the only thing I would add as a suggestion is that they give the sauce separately and not that it already comes in the tacos, I ordered delivery and I had one of those enchiladas since I dont eat spicy. Greetings and keep making such delicious food

Hands down the best Birria I ve ever had. Yes, it s located in a convenience store, but don t let that fool you. Tasty, clean food that is not drowned in cheese and sauce. Our group had 3 orders of Birria. Everyone looooved it! Highly recommended!

When we pulled up we weren t sure if we were at the right place don t be fooled, it is located in a convenience store. I love birria and have had great birria and awful birria. This is some of.. if not the best birria I have ever had. The flavours are insane, not too spicy, and the quality and tenderness of the meat is to die for. Service was amazing, the employees are so humble and so kind. We went to sit down and they didn t let us until they cleaned after the last person left. They also have sodas imported from Mexico. I don t think I ll have better Mexican anytime soon. This place is to die for and a must visit if you are in Victoria.

Food was excellent, the owners were very friendly and cordial, and the service was top notch. If youre looking for delicious, fresh, homestyle authentic Mexican food, you wont be disappointed. PS. All the authentic Mexican sodas are available too!

This food is a new experience, it is so delicious that if you have never tried it, it is your time to do so. I have never tried a shirt so rich and so delicious 10/10 for new experiences!!!

Hidden gem staff are friendly food is super fresh and flavourful. Atmosphere is lacking as your in a convince store with a small eating area. Hopefully they will expand into a nice sit down restaurant.

Its one of the best taco places in town. The real taste of a Mexican taco. You can order Barbacoa tacos, Birria tacos, and sopes. Dont hesitate to ask for the sauces; they are so spicy! Food

Incredible food. Great staff. Its a bit funky being inside of a convenience store but there is seating. Will definitely be back! Dietary restrictions: Gluten. They have an entire other cooktop if you have celiac. They take it very seriously!

Great little hidden mexican gem. They were able to accommodate gluten and dairy allergen(celiac) early on in the day, can guarantee later in the day, but it was delicious. Definitely will go back again, would suggest if your Celiac to call ahead to make sure they havent had cross contamination, although they said the soup is always safe and it was sooooo good ..

The owners and the employees are so welcoming, they make you feel as if we are family. The salsas are all home made. Thank you Ay Mi Mexico!!!! I recommend getting the birria and barbacoa. I grew up in San Diego, not far from the Mexican border. While there are many tasty Mexican options in Victoria, none really struck me as completely authentic until I finally found & tried Ay Mi Mexico. Holy cow, this stuff is for real - it compares favorably with some of the best food I have had in San Diego as well as south of the border. Do yourself a favor and try it, the prices are great, service is friendly, and the food is unbelievably good.

We had never been here before but it was conveniently located close to the place we were visiting. We ordered three dishes to share & it was SO SO tasty! It seems to be a fairly new restaurant serving traditional Mexican cuisine and they definitely do not disappoint. I tried a couple of their different Taco options and every single one of them was a home run. Amazing flavors, decent serving sizes for the money, and they were served with a consommé for dipping. My only complaint was that they were so full of people when I arrived that there was no table for me to sit at and, despite the fact that they tried to set up a foldable table and an extra chair for me, to their credit, it was an uncomfortable seating situation as the chair did not match the height of the table and it made for awkward eating. Otherwise, based on the food and friendliness of the staff, I would 100% recommend this place.

We had some tacos to go at lunch today and they were very tasty! We will definitely be coming back.

Best mexican in the city, hands down. My brothers have been ranting and raving about it for months, finally I got the chance to go last week and I DREAM of the food now!! No photos sorry it was too delicious looking to wait LOL my husband and I shared the birria tacos and the barbacoa. Love that the birria is a bit thinner, it makes an incredible soup afterwards with all the taco filling bits in there Dietary restrictions: A friend who was with us has many allergies (gluten, eggs, bell peppers) and this place was perfect for her to eat without fear

Real Mexican food, the taste is so Good

The best Mexican food I have had while outside of Mexico, the barbecue consomme is luxurious and the sauce is very good. The service is 5 stars, they were very friendly. We came here because of the positive comments they had and we found out that what the diners say is true! Success and I hope they reach more places in Canada.

It was my first time in here today, and I wasnt too sure about it as Im not too savvy on Mexican food. But the guy inside was so nice and so helpful when helping me decide for what I should get my husband and I for lunch. He even let me try the flavors so I could make a good and knowledgeable choice. And let me tell you all just how freaking awesome this food was!!!! The beef tacos are like so amazing and kinda like a tasty taco beef dip.... it was mind blowing!! The prok deep fried tacos were wonderful! But I tasted the refried beans that came with it on my chips and it was seriously good. And I always never ever eat the beans on anything (my husband was so shocked that I was enjoying the beans). This place is great and you end up eating it all and have a lovely little food coma. We wish we could come here all the time ..... but cant since we live on the mainland.....

First time at Ay MI Mexico and cant wait to go back. We ordered the cochinitas and barbacoa tacos. They were fresh, crispy and the pickled red onions were so good. We also tried the Lamb Consumme which was rich and flavourful with lots of meat and chick peas finished with lime and cilantro. Amazing, friendly staff. A perfect meal to take to the park. Excellent paired with Horritos lime soda from the convenience store.

My favourite Mexican food in Vancouver Island.

My coworker told me about it and I knew I had to go! They have by far the best Mexican food Ive ever had! The place is a little rough, but everything is outstanding! The service was top tier too. They asked me if I had ever been there before. The cook came to explain to me the best way to eat the Birria Tacos. Most places would have let me figure it out on my own. The convenience store is great too. They had Mexican Cola right there and I also got Churro Kit Kats. I would totally tell all my friends about this place!

If you ever want to go back to Mexico for some tacos look no further. We have been searching for a spot for some authentic food and today we found it. We tried most of the menu and everything was spectacular. This place deserved 7/5 stars. Amazing service, food was ready in a flash and I literally drank the birria dipping sauce. We will be back again and again!

Ever have too much of a good thing? I feel like that was my first experience here. I ordered all of their tacos and took them home to try. I started with the cochinitas and was absolutely floored. Decent kick from the habaneros and so very flavorful. The guajillo salsa on the birria tacos brought a nice level of heat, not unbearable but lingered for a while after - my favourite kind. The flavours in the birria and barbacoa tacos were largely muted by my choice to order everything, and then start my meal with the cochinitas... Solution? I just have to go back and have them individually to be sure. But make no mistake, it was all incredible. I look forward to it again! Parking: Small parking lot in front of store, good amount of street parking otherwise

Ay Mi Mexico is hands down the most epic most authentic most delicious Mexican food you ll find in Victoria BC! Louis & Amanda are top notch & man do they know how to cook! It feels like they ve invited us into their home when we take their food home to enjoy it with our family. Honestly, don t take my works for it. Go down there & give it a go. Put on some Mexican tunes, make a margarita & eat Ay Mi Mexico. It will be the best night IN ever! I d give them more stars if I could.

Being from Perth Australia, I have been craving good Mexican food. I found it last night. I ate on the hood of my rental car and loved the tacos de birria. Returned today with my wife and had the the Barbacoe de Borrego. 2 more days in Victoria, 2 more lunches at My Ai Mexican. Victoria dont miss out on real Mexican food.

Delicious food. Cook time was about 10 minutes. Our dinner was a real treat. The food was fresh and delicious and AUTHENTIC! Our 19 year old son devoured it. Its hard to find good Mexican food in Victoria and this place is one of the best options along with excellent service.

I ordered a birria cake and the birria is very delicious, if you close your eyes it could easily be a birria in Mexico, next time I will try the consommé

Dont be fooled by its location. Despite being located inside a convince store, Ay mi Mexico is probably the best Mexican food you will find in Victoria! The food is out of this world good. I just finished my Tacos de Bierra and Im already thinking about the next time I can go back for more. The staff is super friendly, they saw we debating on what to get and offered up some samples to help us make our minds. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. 100% recommend this place to anyone!
