Just paid 20$ for a world record of the smallest burrito ever made. Yeah it tastes good but you can tell the owners starting to cheap out. Not what it used to be

It was good especially the steak, the fish was a bit flavourless.

I ll preface this by saying I m not a foodie or a hipster, I m a boring Kirkland-wearing middle aged husband and father. Tacofino consistently has the best tacos and burritos I have ever tasted. Last night we also tried their nachos with pork and they were by far the best nachos I have ever had in my life. Unbelievably good. I gave the atmosphere a 4/5 because I m old and it was loud but it was friendly and lively which was nice.

Great service, casual atmosphere, crew working really good when its busy. Sometimes you just need a burrito ( big chonk ) and sometimes you need taco. Dont overlook this spot when youre in downtown Victoria.

The wait was super long, so plan accordingly if going on your lunch break but the food was definitely worth the wait and very filling.

Burrito was mostly plain beans... chicken in the soft taco was burnt a little. Average :(

Had a taco sized hole in me and they filled it wth delicious tacos.

The only flavours where either nothing, or spicy, the salsa isnt that great and it have me a stomach ache, but the service was great and they were all kind.

Tacofino is just not the same as it used to be as it has really gone down hill in product and quality. It s overpriced and overrated. I would give it no stars if I could. I will not be returning to Tacofino again as I m done giving this place the benefit of the doubt and returning thinking that the previous time(s) are an off night when the food I ve ordered has been well below subpar. It just continues to consistently be bad and that s putting it lightly. Order a chicken or fish burrito and you will be eating through a disgusting large amount of refried beans for the first half, followed by an abundance of dry bland cabbage, maybe some regurgitated swill of tomato s, before you even taste anything else which ends up being some pitiful and disappointing over cooked chewy meat. And they can t even layer or assemble a burrito properly. Like seriously it s not that hard!

The line up is always long but the food is totally worth it! Most people order to go but there is still lots of table space inside if you decide to stay. We tried the crispy chicken burrito, chicken taco, and fish taco. All of them were great and very flavorful. Not super authentic but still very tasty.

Overhyped they gave me wrong order

Stood outside waiting for our 2 burritos in the cold for over 30 minutes, while multiple people came and left with their food. After checking with the server if our food was coming, they were not helpful and said there was no way to check and typically wait time is 20 minutes. Won t be coming back for the faux-Mexican food.

Great food, my only gripe, the nachos is way too much for one person. I ordered 3 x tacos, delicious and filled me up. GF ordered the nachos, the serve is enough for 2-3 people. It would have been courteous for the staff member who processed the order to explain that the nachos is more than a meal for one little lady; I hate wasting food.

The wait is long but the burritos are worth it. Get the Crispy Chicken burrito, and if youre extra hungry, throw in a Pork Gringa. Their vegetarian options are also great, the Bean Gringa is delicious and the Super Veg burrito is fantastic.

Went for late afternoon lunch with Mom. Really tasty crispy chicken taco and fish taco. The only comment is that its hard to eat with your hands. The soft taco is stuffed full of fresh ingredients. Tasty and affordable. Its nice too that you get water at your table.

It was a delicious lunch which had a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. I got two fish tacos which were quite messy but tasty. It took less than 10 minutes to receive my food. There is limited seating so if it is busy you may have troubles but there is also take out if needed. I would definitely recommend trying these delicious tacos out if you are in the area! Dietary restrictions: The worker asked if I had any dietary restrictions because they have specific menus to accommodate the common ones (gluten).

We adore Tacofino in Vancouver so we thought why not having some delicious burritos in Victoria too! Unfortunately our experience there was not at all what we expected. We ordered 2 burritos: 1 fish and 1 pork. On the pork one description it was well-written that there was cilantro in it but not at all on the fish one. Being allergic to cilantro, I took the fish one that sounded delicious. After one bite I directly felt that there was cilantro in it so kindly asked if it was possible to get another on explaining the problem. They politely accepted the request and offered me another one supposed to be cilantro-free (that came 2sec after my demand by the way, which was quite surprising). But again, cilantro in it, less but still. It might have been my fault not to mention it beforehand but considering that Vancouvers place displays ALL the ingredients on their menu I was pretty confident that it would be the same at that location. So we just left, for me still really hungry and obvious I got sick all night long after that....

Generous portions (good for the price) but I was disappointed by the tuna tacos which was missing a bit flavours

Each taco is 1 per order. We got the fish taco and the seared tuna taco. They were both made hot & fresh to order and was probably the highlight of our day. Check them out for a fresh bite in the middle of the city!

Best burritos I have ever eaten! Go for it!!!

We ordered four tacos and one burrito. The fish was cold and chewy- ultimately inedible. We informed the staff and they offered us a cookie. Would have preferred our money back. Not going to return- and will stick with Red Fish Blue Fish for hot and fresh fish tacos from now on!

I cannot recommend this place unfortunately. Just based on the time in which to get your food. We ordered two burritos, one chicken, one steak. I am still here one hour and five mins later and no food. It is busy but making two burritos should never take over an hour. Unacceptable in my opinion. And patrons who arrived after us received their food before us so yeah dont go here unless you have unlimited time to wait for a burrito.

Very disappointed in my experience here today. The lady at the front till was very kind in explaining their Gluten free menu to me and made me feel comfortable ordering here since I am Celiac. My food was brought out and after I took one bite the same lady ran over and told me to stop eating right away as she failed to note that my order was Gluten Free and for a Celiac! She mentioned she s glad she caught it quick enough - clearly doesn t understand Celiac Disease and the importance relating that information to anyone dealing with this order and the fact that it s to late and I ve already ingested WAY to much gluten from that 1 bite. Incredibly glad I don t have a severe food allergy that causes an anaphylactic reaction as her carelessness could have seriously impacted someone s life. I am in for a very horrific next 24 hours and yes she was apologetic and made me the gluten free order very quick but this is still not acceptable. I will never return here as I do not feel this establishment takes Celiac Disease or even food allergies, for that matter, serious AT ALL. And for those of you thinking it was probably super busy it was completely dead when I came in and ordered (because I m aware my orders need that extra time and I plan accordingly). Also pretty bad for no management to come out and chat with me after the fact and no I did not get my 30 dollars back for my 3 tacos but the lost money is the least of my worries. Celiac people beware!

Good quick tasty food. Casual seating inside and out. Tacos are good size with nontraditional sauces. I particularly loved the crispy ling cod taco. They have alcoholic beverages - a bonus if you arent a beer drinker.

I was skeptical of the price at first. $8-$10 is more than what I m willing to pay for a single taco usually, but the boy wanted tacos and I had to try one, and holy crap I m so glad we did! I had the tuna taco. It s kind of a fun twist with traditionally sushi ingredients - seaweed salad, pickled ginger, and wasabi mayo. Everything was so fresh and came together really well. The whole thing was thrown together with a complete disregard of the maximum loading capacity of the tortilla (which held up surprisingly well considering the weight it s carrying). It was so messy to eat, in the most amazing way. I get all the hype now for Tacofino now. I wish I was more hungry, or I wish I lived in Vancouver, because I would have liked to try all the tacos on the menu if given the chance.

Listen, these guys don t play around. Probably one of the best burritos I ve ever had. I ended up going here almost every night of my trip to Victoria. Shoutout Max from the front he s dope! Great service and food here.

Friendly enough front desk staff, vegan burritos were extremely dry, theres no sauce on it just a squirt of chili oil. I hate to ever complain but I would not reccomend, could not swallow bites without a drink, even when doused up with hot sauce. I brought it up to the staff they said they will add more chili oil next time and that i should try it again... they should have a sauce or some proper lubricant in my opinion, or at least said thanks for the feedback... The vegan chickun burritos from Gastown and yaletown locations were 10/10 would highly reccomend! But wont be eating at this location again or reccomending it

I get the fish burrito every time because its so amazing! The hot sauces are divine! The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable, and the price and location are perfect!

Im a fan of Tacofino since I first found them on Fort St. The crispy chicken and tuna tacos are bang on. So tasty! Easy place to eat, love the location, and vibe.

Eating at Tacofino on Canada day was a awesome experience! It was my first visit & the employees created a terrific vibe. It was so keen to watch the employee prepare the burrito ! It was a very satisfying meal. Burrito was a bit messy to eat hence why napkins are in abundance. I definitely will return to this restaurant.

The food is below even fast food standards. Sloppy arrangement and served at the wrong temperature. The service is simply awful. They seem not to care at all about customers who bother to show up, only delivery drivers. So, I and 6 others there waited over 45 mins for our food, while over a dozen Uber meals were prepared and sent on their way. Mine was a single veggie taco - served cold. No time on the grill required. Disgraceful. Time to table: 57 minutes. The staff stand around chatting while orders pile up. I had the opportunity to watch them, turn and figure out they might as well fill a few, make sure there isnt an Uber order to prioritize, then right back to wasting time.... lather rinse repeat. Waste of my time and money.

Though we got a long wait, the food was great and we enjoyed our meal. I also didnt need to listen to music while eating so, take that as you will. Parking: The entire street can be used as a parking lot, but personally, I think thats a copout. But it is in the middle of downtown so, cut it some slack.

My family went there at 3:30 in the afternoon. It took almost 2 hours from start to finish. It took an hour to get our food once we finally ordered. Portions were small and it was overpriced. Food didn t taste bad once we got it, but it was cold. Might ve tasted better when it was hot but we won t be going back to find out. Staff also didn t seem to care about wait times. Not worth the wait.

Wow I was just shocked this afternoon after ordering a steak, crispy chicken, and fish taco. The steak was dry and chewy, the crispy chicken should be renamed to the burnt batter, and the fish was so dry youd think it had never seen the sea. I had heard wonderful things about tacofino but after that experience I can honestly say those werent just some of the worst tacos Ive ever had but they have truly ruined my day.

I already had a perfect review for this place but I had to edit it to say that the crispy soy curl burrito might be the best vegetarian piece of food Ive ever eaten in my life

I had a ling cod taco and tuna taco. Tuna was amazing! Others had a pork burrito and really liked it. Fish burrito also got great reviews! Prices are very reasonable.

First time trying Tacofino yesterday evening and all I can say is WOW! I bought the crispy chicken burrito (no cilantro of course, Im not a big fan lol) and it was sooooo delicious,the chicken was flavoured and tendered just right and sauces, seasons ect were perfect! Plus for $17 you definately get your moneys worth its a huge friggin Burrito so I could only finish half and then save the other half for the next day. Thank you Tacofino for your delicious food and enjoyable service!

Below Average food quality. Location and seating arrangement is pretty good. Chicken burrito barely has chicken in it, I tried hard looking for chicken and found 3 chunks. Whole burrito & nachos were ruined by excess of beans. Nachos were served with salsa &sour cream drizzle on top of the chips, who does that. Side order of guacamole cost 6$ which was nothing but smashed avocados no flavour at all. Will never return here, don t know how it gets the award of best Mexican restaurant. Bland flavour caters primarily white folks & tourist. More of a fast food joint serving flavourless Mexican food.

Tacofino is always a must-stop for us whenever we travel to Victoria! Their steak taco is the best around, even better than at their other spots! The best steak taco ever! And of course their margaritas are the perfect pairing for the tacos!

I ordered the fish tacos. They were all batter no fish. I also ordered the streak taco, which was mediocre. People who eat here obviously don t cook. Won t be back. The meal was terrible; don t know why people line up here.

Absolutely incredible roasted chicken burrito!! Asked if the half hour wait was worth the burrito, and it absolutely was! Packed with chicken, veggies and sauce running down my hands (just the way I like it) and the serving was way too much to finish in one sitting, but I sure tried! First time experience, life time customer 10/10

First time at the new location on Pandora. Seating sooo much better. Quality and service sooo much worse. What happened?! That tiny little kitchen on Yates used to hum with consistent quality and timing. My order came in a timely way, but wasnt nearly as good as the Yates days - missing any aioli. Friend had to have her order redone 3x, and other friend waited for her burrito for 45min. Sooo disappointed.

Went to the Victoria location. The crispy chicken burrito sounded amazing, my friend said she got it once and it was one of the best burritos she has had. The chicken was SO crispy (as in over cooked) it didn t even resemble chicken anymore, we actually questioned if it WAS chicken because the 3-4 pieces that were in it were just dry and shriveled up. Both of our burritos were almost entirely made of black beans. I honestly don t even know if there was any cabbage/guacamole or rice in them because everything was just brown from the beans, there was no color to them at all, like a sloppy brown mess. Very disappointing first experience for me! Needless to say, won t be going back.

Its cool that you increased the rate of the burrito. Its even kind of alright that you made their sizes smaller, but to set the card machine to a minimum 18% tip is a bit much. As a regular who always picks up his food, why should I pay 18% every single time? Thats not cool yo, not cool :(

The tuna taco it s a peculiar dish, kind of mixed up with Japanese and Mexican cuisine. The habanero sauce it s spicy, be careful. The fish taco it s way better than the Tuna one. The flour tortilla miss to have more salt, but it s great. As the end, I think some flavour is missing, maybe pepper or salt. I will recommend you to order to deliver and wait for a place to eat inside, if it s cold outside, otherwise they have tables outside. Inside it s too small. The service it s okay.

Ordered the fish and yam tacos and they were probably the worst quality of tacos I ve had at tacofino so far. The fish didn t taste as fresh. The tacos were a bit dry and overflowing with too many tomatoes.

There isnt any wifi they could have chips and salsa for free if you order over $20 in my opinion and the staff could be more inviting in my opinion but the food is good could be better

The chicken tacos were amazing 10/10 so goood. But the chicken burritos were so dry and most of it was beans. Chipotle makes way better burritos. Unpopular opinion: roasted chicken is way better and juicier than crispy chicken here.

My $18 Crispy chicken burrito was 90% beans, and really sloppy. The most disappointing Tacofino I ve had. I ordered it to go, and if I wasn t already back home I would have sent it back. Waste of money. :(

Got the burrito bowl, food is good. The cardboard packaging is ridiculous. The food made the cardboard so soggy that my food was basically falling through the bottom of it. I got bits of cardboard in my food as well. Food is good but come on really? Spend a few more bucks on decent take out containers that don t fall apart.

I am so excited to have Tacofino in the Westshore! This is exactly what Langford needed. And reduces the need for a 4 hour drive, just for Tacofino! THRILLED! I dream of their crispy chicken burrito. Its so delicious and definitely a good value. I come here too often because I love it so much. EDIT: years later, I must say Tacofino is inconsistent at best. Its gone from a place I frequent once a month at least, to once every 6 months. A handful of times Ive had inedibly large pieces of fat in a burrito, or more than half my burrito just beans. The wait times just dont feel worth risking bad food. When its good, its excellent. But otherwise, its a $15 disappointment.

Food was amazing and for the most part services was great my only complaint is one of the staff was giving the other staff a hard time for not answering the phone as they were both helping customers, and she did so with a mouthful of food in not a nice way, seemed unprofessional and I felt genuinely bad for the other two staff who were working hard. Coaching may be necessary as it s a new location but doing it with a mouthful of food in an area where you re serving customers food seems silly.
