Easygoing place serving varied Asian street food, beer & cider in a contemporary space with a patio.
I first discovered Foo working across the street back in 2011. It quickly became my #1 lunch location. On this latest visit I ordered the same thing as my first - Pork Belly. It is served simply on rice with green beans and chili, but omg, it is so amazing. Pork Belly was cooked perfectly. If you are squeamish with fat or don’t like flavour, I’d recommend something else. We also ordered the pulled pork and pineapple fried rice that always has enough for the next day which was equally delicious. I don’t know why, but adding hot sauce to this dish makes it amazing. Honestly, try it with hot sauce! If you are bringing parents or less than adventurous eaters, go with the caramel chicken-it will get them hooked. Thanks again Foo - my partner always gets excited when I say, “How about Foo tonight?”
Overall, I think the food is pretty good but slightly too salty. I had the butter chicken and it was fantastic. The young lady that runs the front is really really good at her job. The place is horribly noisy. I put my ear plugs in and it was still offensively loud. Get it to go ! Will come back for the caramel chicken soon..
Perfect quick stop for Asian food. I was so impressed how fresh and delicious the food was. The food served straight from kitchen. I would definitely come again. Inside has only about 15 seats and there is more outdoor covered seating.
Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting something quick and delicious. I ordered the pulled pork & pineapple fried rice with the chilli green beans - both were packed with flavour and spice! The portion sizes are really good and it travelled well with me as I walked back through the city. Would definitely order again!
This is a favourite place of ours in Victoria! They have been consistently good for years now- every time we go we have the most amazing meal. The menu is concise but varied enough that there is something for everyone- plenty of veggie options too! There isn’t a lot of seating, but usually we are able to find some- but the central location of this place means you can easily and quickly walk down to the water/to a park to sit and eat which is always good fun too. Food and service is excellent- kind and helpful servers and incredible chefs!! Definitely a place to stop by at for a nice meal in the area :)
mild with a delicious coconut milk flavor coming through. The tingling noodles were very flavorful and the addition of the stir fry vegetables complemented the dish nicely. The togarashi tots are definitely worth getting. They are crispy on the outside, warm and soft in the middle, and very flavorful. The menu description doesn’t begin to do them justice.
Great place for a quick bite. Solid pad Thai. They use a thicker noodle than other places - it was a nice change up and chicken was cooked well. Also tried a spring roll, it had glass noodles in it - a fun little appetizer! Would come back.
I ordered the pad Thai for lunch. Tell me why it tasted like I was eating super old leftovers? The noodles were already hardened around the edges. The protein was super dry and again tasted like it was cooked days prior and reheated. I used to love ordering takeout from here, it was my first time back in quite a while and I was super disappointed. The prices have gone up significantly since I used to come here frequently … ok fine, whatever. Inflation. Hopefully good ingredients, and hopefully you’re paying your staff well. But if you’re going to raise your prices by $7+ per meal, you’d better be nailing those dishes every time. And for the love of god, why are you not cooking your noodles FRESH? Even if not to order, then at least DAILY? These noodles were cooked IF NOT a few days before, then for sure the day before. The chicken tasted like it was on its last day of 5 days in the fridge. Super disappointed to pay for a meal that tasted like old dry leftovers. Please do better, because when your food is made properly, it’s really good! Or at least it was back in the day? Sorry to leave a bad review but I was even sorrier to pay $20+ for pad thai and throw it away.
Unfortunately it was impossible to eat. Too spicy
The beef and broccoli, to die for. I order 2 every time because after eating it nothing else compares. My dad started taking me there as a kid and I ve been hooked ever since. The fry bread is also fantastic
very delicious asian food, quality is definitely amazing for the price.
I make a point to hit up this place every time I am in Victoria.
This place is the best!
I had a so so experience the first time I ate here and decided to give it one more try. The food is quite tasty but I find it really expensive ($18-19 for lunch) and super greasy. I ordered the tofu and rice expecting it to be fairly light and I had a sore stomach for the remainder of the day which is unusual for me. I really wanted to like Foo but unfortunately it s just not for me.
I really wanted to like this place, but the fried rice was drowning in oil. The flavor and plating were good and the service was helpful.
Love this place. Were back in Victoria for Thanksgiving and it was our first food stop. As Tina Turner sang the words simply the best
So delicious
I ordered the caramel chicken. I was immediately taken aback by the small portion size. Noodle Box is twice as much for less cost. Like if I pay a price for a meal that isnt cheap I want to feel at least satisfied. I might have give it a pass because to be fair the chicken serving was proportionally large, but it was also dry, indicating it had been cooked some time before then just reheated in the pan. Not only that but the dish was supposed to include Asian greens but searching through the whole thing I only found one tiny fragment of green about the size of a sunflower seed. Apparently Asian greens actually means a whole lot of onion and nothing else. I bypassed this place for years before giving it a try and I guess I really just bought $20 worth of reasons to bypass it for the rest of eternity too. Sure the girl was nice and the atmosphere was fine but what good is it if the food is too much for too little and not what it says its going to be?
I used to like this place more. They have a few good staple dishes but they need some fresh ideas. Lately some of the specials are quite bad. And the cost is on the pricey end for such a small trailer-like building.
I typically adore this place and come here often, but tonight they burned my potstickers and it was very disappointing :( Please make sure you don t let burnt food pass through! Have a good solid check for quality so I can keep coming here
carmelized chicken, but dry but still good. overpriced.
Very good food. Lots of Chunks of beef in my beef and broccoli pad Thai. I definitely Recommend it. High quality ingredients.
Really delicious food! Great atmosphere and amazing service.
Awesome Asian food. Totally worth every penny.
I have been going here for six years, and I have never had one bad meal. Keep doing what youre doing go to is the beef broccoli and Pork belly minus the spice
The pork belly continues to impress me.
Liam provided very good service! He was very helpful, informative and gave good tips on which food we should get. The mongolian bread here is delicious! Thank you Liam! Food
Ill be honest, usually when I go to ethnic restaurants, even fusion ones, I like to see someone from the culture, but let me tell you these 2 white male chefs were amazing. The food was delicious and quick service. Thank you for teaching not to judge a book by its cover
I placed an order via Door Dash last night and they didnt have one of the items (fry bread) I wanted on the Door Dash menu so I called them directly and the woman that answered was very helpful and made sure it was added to my order. It was delicious as always!
Good street food Vegetarian options: Many options with tofu instead of meat Food : 4/5 |
Pad thai didn t taste like Pad Thai, the Caramel chicken (which seemed highly recommended on here) was just a pile of soggy fried chicken on rice. Pad thai was stale as has been mentioned in other reviews here
Lovely outdoor shaded patio and doggo friendly. Parking: Enter off of Yates and exit onto Blanchard. One way parking lot. Food : 5/5 |
Food was a little underwhelm. It wasnt bad, but nothing memorable.
I like to order takeout, its always fast, delicious and at a very good price.
Ive been getting take out from foo for over 10 years and its just one of my go-tos. I love their Saag Paneer, such delicious sauce with generous spinach and cilantro with these little paneer balls. Its one of my favourite dishes in the city. Also, the Kung Pao Tofu is excellent and Caramel Chicken - crispy, sweet gingery. Spring rolls are great too. Its a wonderful place to have a quick meal or pick up on the way home.
Great food, great owners
This is a super place. The lady who took our order was friendly and helpful. The food is delicious.
Ordered a few dishes for takeout, caramel chicken, kung po tofu etc. Upon opening the takeout boxes we realized that each one was 3/4 rice, leaving about 4 chuncks of chicken and 6pcs of tofu for 2 ppl. Never in my life have I ever been hungry after getting Chinese takeout. If I hadnt ordered tagadashi tots, which curbeb my hunger and anger I would have driven back and complained. The food, from my very limited experience was on the high end of mediocre. Hoping this was just an off night but am not sure Ill try again.
Got the Tuna and the Pad Thai. Definitely didnt expect the tuna to be such a small portion for $18, for what was essentially a poke bowl. First time here, so tried to enjoy it. Pad Thai noodles were sticking together pretty good so that was sweet. By the time my wife and I had picked out our 4th and 5th hairs we had to tap out. For $40, couldve done alot better.
5 points.
Pork belly or beef and pineapple fried rice ...yummy
Foo(l) on us for thinking this was a food court-like place serving different cuisines. Cultural appropriations abound. Although far from authentic, the Crispy tofu salad with rice noodles was decent, but could ve been great with fried *soft* tofu. Pad Thai was too heavy with the fat noodle and sauce. Skip the fried bread and the butter chicken.
Go to restaurant regular price, order for pickup different more expensive price? order for delivery different even more expensive price. Food is not worth that kind of money best of luck.
These folks do very interesting twists on some Asian food staples. Proof that dishes don t have to be done in the traditional way to be delicious. I m a confessed Thai food snob, having spent a lot of time in SE Asia, and always seeking out the real thing , but the food here is absolutely fantastic. The location isn t exactly charming, and it can chilly in the shade late in the day, but the food compensates.
Really delicious, authentic Asian food. Pad Thai was one of the best I ve had. Caramel chicken was also super unique and yum!
Favourite spot in town! Quick! always tasty! Good music! Friendly staff!
Tried the Kung Pow Tofu & Pad Thai with Tofu. Both were delicious! The Kung Pow Tofu texture was especially amazing - crispy, sticky, chewy, spicy! Almost wished the Pad Thai Tofu was the same! We checked this out before heading back home. Will definitely return next time we are in Victoria.
Food
Good portions for an accurate price. Ill keep coming if things stay the same. So far its been great!
Good was great, came out fast and service was amazing!
Absolutely delicious food! The sweet & sour pork belly was sensational! Best meal I ve had since moving to Victoria 6 months ago. The staff were lovely too, I will definitely be returning :)
Please please go! The food was a delicious twist on some classic Asian dishes. We really enjoyed the Tom Yum noodles! I suspect you cant really go wrong with their menu. Our only regret is that we wont be able to go again this weekend!
Delicious food, good value, quick and friendly.
We have come here many many times over the last 5+ years and it is consistently incredible! It s our go to spot. I can not remember ever being disappointed. We have brought a variety of people who visit us here and all have been super impressed. When we come in or call in orders the staff is very efficient and super friendly and helpful (not in an over the top way - just in an impressive way). 10/10!
Ordered Tofu Red Curry, got some disgusting chicken thing. Im a vegetarian. They did nothing.
pretty tasty curry noodles and caramel chicken
Tiny little restaurant in the heart of town. The food was so good, we had to come back and eat there one more time before leaving Victoria. A must! Food : 5/5
Definitely one of my favourite lunch spots to go downtown. I have been many times and they never disappoint me. If you are looking for a local restaurant with a unique vision, then look no further than FOO!
The best pad Thai Ive ever eaten in my life + the service was friendly!
Im working in Victoria from out of town and am so relieved to have found a place that is consistent, delicious and reasonably priced! Not mentioned licenced for a bubbly after work ;) Thanks Foo! Food
had crispy potstickers with nuoc cham and coconut chowder for my first time meal here and it was amazing. added bonus is the energetic person taking orders Food
Best Butter Chicken in Victoria
The beef and broccoli chow mein was very good! I highly recommend it.
fair warning - food was oily. It lacked the flavour and sauce it used to have. As well, the fry bread did not have the chili pepper bits known for being a part of their fry bread for years. The protein (meat) was 1/2 the serving one used to get, and barely any sprouts. I would prefer increase in price rather than cutting back the portions, especially with no notice.
The Laksa special is truly excellent and Im hoping that you find folks keep it as a staple, what a dish! Exploding with flavor, perfect noodles (the right amount of bite) and juicy rockfish. Im stoked to have discovered your wonderful creation and will be back to satiate my newfound craving. Bravo Food
Shoutout to Alec (?) for always being happy and friendly! She even remembered a name. Super service and as usual, great food. The ginger pork special was masarap, delicious!
They serve a very westernized take on Asian food. However, the main complaint I have is with the quantity of food that you get. It is only 2/3 of what a normal Canadian Chinese restaurant would serve while paying 3/2 the normal price.
Great value for the money! Friendly staff and super convenient downtown location
Fast service, friendly staff, best caramel chicken in town.
Ordered Vegan tofu pad tai - it was dry and gummy in texture but had a nice flavor.
very friendly + quick service! Excellent food with big portions - we took lots of leftovers home :)
So good we got most things on the menu and everything was just incredible. Highly recommend.
Great asian fusion. Fantastic service and unusual and yet inviting and intriguing flavors. A must for anyone bent on bending the usual.
One of my favourite places in town
The food was tasty Parking: There was parking Food : 4/5 |
Quality has been steadily decreasing for years as the price keeps going up. Cheaper ingredients, fresh vegetables replaced by 75% canned baby corn the last time I ordered the curry, old brown lime slices, noodles swimming in oil and burnt pork belly... I understand that inflation is hitting everyone but if youre going to raise the prices every couple months at least keep using quality ingredients. The only reason I put 3 stars is because the service is fine. So disappointing because this place used to be incredible.
Pork belly was phenomenal and caramel chicken was good, too. Pork belly dish was a bit heavier than I d like but the seasoning and sauces were delicious.
Must have new cooks who arent trained in the old ways. Time before last my butter chickens rice was oily and a little under cooked, and it was a small chicken portion (1/2 of what you used to get and maybe 2/3 of what Ive been seeing since the pandini). Went for the beef and broccoli this last time and I had to make my own sauce at home because there was so little sauce. Been coming here for over 10 years. Theyve made some portions larger (looking) since the pandini and tried to not raise their prices much of which Im grateful. I love Foo and have faith they will correct these new cooks foibles
the tuna bowl good but It dont smell like no tuna bowl but it also smell like tuna bowl edit: I done got food poisoning dont go here on my momma
Foo s is a great find in downtown Vic. Great little place with a variety of east/north/south Asian dishes on offer. I had the sweet and sour pork belly with chilli fried green beans which was awesome. Lots of dine in customers, people sitting outside (no heaters BTW) or taking away. Busy place!
Great choice for lunch
Friendly staff, quick service and great value for fabulous street food!
Awesome little place to grab some warm food. Its usually busy and Seating is minimal...
Amazing taste.
Vegetarian options: We are a family of 4 and had the vegan dishes which were amazing!!!! Friendly staff, clean environment and pocket friendly too.. Must visit place
I spent 5 days in Victoria to attend a conference, and visited more than 10 different restaurants around the downtown conference center. Foo Asian came up supreme. The incorporation of distinct texture for the ingredients in the dishes and the balanced flavor profile made every bite a joy akin listening to music by a symphony orchestra. In fact, I had to return to this establishment for the second time before leaving!
Sadly not what it was two years ago. Got the Broccoli/beef again. Went from a small box of mostly tender beef and flavourful broccoli to mostly noodles and oil with wilted broccoli. I also ordered the Drunken Noodles which was a bad idea. Not good. The rice noodles were cooked together into inedible lumps. $20 for hard lumps and flavourless beef. The customer service was haphazard at best. Had to repeat myself, not once, but multiple times. Waited a good 5 minutes for the interac to go through which was just a charming experience I must say. Wouldve given this place 4-5 stars a couple years ago. Now I wont be back.
Food not so good at all. Ambiance is ok nothing great. Not fan of the seating.
Honestly the best food my family and I have had in a long time. The Pork and Pineapple Fries Rice is the best fried rice we have had. You owe it to yourself to check this place out and try an incredible riff on Asian Street food.
Unreal pork belly.
Best food experience on our trip to Victoria!! We ordered Kung Pao Tofu and Special Fried Rice, both the dishes were delicious. For Kung Pao Tofu, one would imagine that Tofu was the star of the dish (which it was), but for me it was the crispy fried broccoli which took the dish to another level.. chefs kiss !! Food quantity and the service was pretty good. I cant wait to go back and try other things on their menu. This place is a must visit if you are in Victoria.
My husband and I recently dined at Foo Asian Street Food during our vacation in Victoria, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I ordered the Pork Belly dish, while my husband had The Caramel Chicken, and both meals were absolutely delicious. I was especially thrilled to see that they had gluten-free options, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. In fact, the food was so good that we ended up going back for a second night of Foo Food! The service was fast and courteous, and both times we got take out, we couldnt resist finishing every last grain of rice. We will definitely be returning when we visit the Island. I highly recommend this restaurant for its amazing food and outstanding service. Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free Options are available.
Good, unfortunately the menu never changes.
We decided to try Foo Asian Street Food for dinner and it was phenomenal! We got the Saag Paneer, which is served with fry bread and streamed rice. The Tofu Kung Pao bowl is a medley of vegetables that comes with steamed rice. Both dishes were flavourful, delicious and well-done! They have a great menu as well. Love their concept! Excellent and friendly service from the host as well. Thank you! Highly recommend! We shall return
Food was amaaaazzzing! Highly recommend!
Tofu kung pao was excellent. The only downside is there s not much seating, just a bar style and a couple of outdoor tables.
We ve been to this place before when visiting, but this time was disappointing. The website prices say $18 but when you order it s $20 the portion sizes are substantially smaller mostly filling the containers with rice. I specifically ordered not to have bean sprouts- and there was bean sprouts- it s just like they don t care. And even when we collected the food - people were cold and non appreciative/friendly to their customers. All in all disappointing and will not be returning.
Decent little place. Food is good and price is reasonable. Service is solid, though wait time can be a bit longer.
So happy to be able to visit Foo in our trip to Victoria. Lunch was amazing.
I really loved getting your pad thai. The container was always filled to the top, the pad thai was delicious, and service was great. A couple months ago (maybe sooner? not too sure) I ordered and the take out container was only filled halfway. The food was also disappointing, it kinda tasted stale/less saucy then before. Thought it was a one off but the next two times were the same. I didnt mind paying the $19 before because it was so good but now its just not worth the disappointment. I dont know if maybe you changed the recipe or staff? but whatever it is, not good :(
Delicious food. @Victoria_Foodies
Ordered some fries and Pad Thai. Food was mediocre until we found a piece of steel wool in the fries. Given the standard of their quality control, I won t be going back there again.
Amazing food! And the service was fast and super friendly! I will definitely be coming back here
Absolutely excellent
I understand we all have to deal with the inflation. $18 dollars for the caramelized chicken with rice. With that baby size, I think its a little overpriced. I could spend less to get something at any of the Vietnamese restaurant in town with twice of the size.
Delicious food from FOO with incredible flavours. My go-to dish is the gf Caramel Chicken with a Spinnakers root beer. It is sweet and savory and you will be licking the box clean. Service is quick and friendly and they have a nice little patio outside of you want to stay and enjoy.
Butter chicken 10!
This review is not about the food. The food is absolutely amazing, but I just cannot wrap my head around the prices. The caramel chicken used to be $13 and now it is $20 with taxes added on. The portion you get is so insanely small, that for the price youd be expecting double that. I get that inflation has been a struggle and all that, but Ive eaten around lately and paid almost just as much, this just cant be inflation. I cant justify coming here anymore, which is a shame because it is such a lovely place.
Very solid food with a street meat vibe but not in a great part of downtown. Excellent condiments!
We always go there when we go down to Vic , can t go wrong when you want a variety of iconic asian dishes
Along with some other people in the reviews I gotta say youre killing me with the price of the caramel chicken because its so good but I cant justify it for the portions and essentially no veggies
an absolutely delicious place in Victoria - all the meals are plentiful and very good. Staff is very friendly.
Definitely recommend! Just what we needed on a rainy afternoon. They totally delivered on the street food promise with the bonus of getting out of the rain. Red Curry reminded me a lot of actual curry in Thailand - lots of different veggies and a rich, not overpowering curry flavors. Really good food!
Sze chuan beef was both very salty and sweet. The bottom of the bowl was drenched with this sweet sauce so couldnt finish all the rice. The curry was a bit better.
CaNt say enough good about this place
Foo is a perfectly serviceable late night spot. Their food tastes like something a friend would feed you. Its simple, the core concepts are good, but the execution leaves something to be desired. It is also quite expensive for what it is.
Great place for a quick and tasty meal. Reliably good and great value.
Foods as good as ever thats why I keep coming back. Thats, and the always-friendly staff ! Vegetarian options: Vegan pad Thai is delicious
We ordered the tofu Kung pao, pineapple pork fried rice and caramel chicken with 2 spring rolls. Everything was delicious! Except the spring rolls were super greasy, wouldnt order those again. But everything else was amazing!
One of the most delicious foods I ve ever eaten. I got the chef s special pork curry. I loved the fact that it wasn t sweet. The meat was super soft and melted in my mouth. I loved the combination of flavours and spices. Everything was to the point. Thanks chef! Food
An exceptional dining experience! The Asian restaurant boasts a charming ambiance and an impressive menu. Every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors. Attentive staff and a delightful atmosphere make this spot a must-visit.
amazing food!
This restaurant was recommended by a server at a Vancouver diner. I was not disappointed. I ordered an entree of caramel chicken and sat on their outdoor covered table. Great food, great place for people watching!
This is some of the best food you will find in the city. Everything Ive had here is incredible but do yourself a favour, get the sweet and sour pork belly and the caramel chicken. Bonus points if you try out whatever seasonal new item they are trying out. Not very hungry? Grab the fried bread with chutney or just on its own. This has become my new birthday meal location because it is just that good. Stop reading this and go get some Foo.
Great hole in the wall for delicious street food.
Thank you for having great gluten-free menu items. Its fantastic to go out for dinner and not have to worry about what you can eat.
Very good and fresh, but expect to be hot. It s very spicy!
great taste, variety and portion size!
Tingly noodles were stellar. Perfect chile oil glow for a hot summer evening.
Best and cheap pad Thai in town
Very good noodles for a good price.
We will be back for more! Had passed by this place many times, and finally stopped! Really glad we did. The s&s pork Belly was really tasty - the green beans were sneaky good! We also had a daily special - lentil dahlli - which was super good too! The fry bread was a welcome appy, as it was a unique dish! Parking is a challenge, but the walk is worth it.
Stopped by after moving from across Canada and had the best Filipina server!! I would definitely stop again for an afternoon cocktail on the patio.
Amazing food every single time! Ive been coming for almost 7 years now. I wish theyd bring back the General Tso Cauliflower dish, its the literal best. Cant recreate it at home and cant find it anywhere else.
Cool little restaurant/street food place. The food is very tasty and freshly prepared. Food: Great asian food interesting dishes. We liked all dishes we tried, especially the sweet and sour pork belly Ambiance: Basic but friendly. Only a few available seating options.available, inside and outside. Free WiFi Prices: Good prices for the quality of the food and the large portions. Recommended dishes: Sweet and sour pork belly and pineapple fried rice. Conclusion: Definitely worth a visit!
Food wasn t very good at all
I ordered pick-up and told them over the phone that I have Celiac Disease and needed them to avoid cross-contamination. When I got home I realized two of the dishes were deep fried. I called them and discovered that the two dishes were deep-fried in the same oil with gluten. Going forward I hope they remove the gf label next to foods that are fried in a contaminated frier, and train their staff to tell customers with allergies about the frier. No hard feelings, I just hope this review helps!
So good , it was the Origin point of a West Coast adventure with my partner!
I first tried Foo in 2014 and have been coming back ever since for their Caramel Chicken dish...Its a small place with limited seating, but I always manage to get a seat. This time I was a bit surprised that the meal was $18, but I dont recall how much I paid for it in the past.
Moved to Victoria over a year ago from Vancouver....and Ive been struggling to find decent Mom n Pop deliciousness! Its here!! Have tried a number of dishes and specials; Foo does not disappoint! :) SO good!! Friendly, knowledgeable service in a teensy little space with a cute, simplistic patio. Reasonable pricing for big portions...served up in those sweet lil brown boxes they always seem to feature in Rom Coms... :) Comfort food at its very best.
Great food always like coming here
Delicious Kung Pao Tofu
Such a cool little place. The staff were so friendly and had lots of recommendations based on customers preferences. Everyone I talk to about this place has a different favourite which I think is a sign of a good spot!! Curried noodle stir fry is my personal fave although I love trying their specials too. Seems like a lot of love and creativity goes into the menu which is nice to see.
Love this place, awesome Asian fusion. Captures best elements of all Asian cuisines. Delicious and great prices for how big the portions are.
Food is amazing, service is meh. But food is sooo good
Wow, thank you, Foo for accommodating our ethical dilemma. Earlier tonight, I visited Foo Asian Street Food , along with five great friends. The reason we visited this establishment was hunger. We were hungry. We ordered, were supplied w/ food and it was delicious. Then we ran into a bit of a problem. The pork belly, (while being delicious) was simply too spicy for one of us to consume. Now, one thing about this friend: she was HUNGRY,, as I said before. This friend was the hungriest of all of us. She simply could not eat the dish, you see. We talked it over. It was an ethically ambiguous situation should we ask for some kind of replacement? A discount on something else? Would we just have to pony up the funds and buy something else? It was unclear. After a bit of consideration, I abruptly swung my legs out from under the table and went on a heroic journey: to ask a favour. I said to the person at the front counter: I wonder if you d [ ] . The rest is history. Everything worked out for everyone and everything was perfect. Thank you.
Food here was phenomenal. They have a good mix of different types of Asian inspired food- Thai, Indian, Japanese and Chinese. The food has elevated flavors and is a new favorite spot.
10/10. Eat here every time I m in Victoria. Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free food and it s delicious. Food : 5/5 |
This place has the best Beef and Broccoli in the city. It is a chowmein and the noodles are also killller. I have very bad OCD and traits of autism so I have a problem with certian textures and stuff. These guys try their best to honour my special request everytime. I also need to be able to eat at reliable places that taste the same and provide the same quality product every time, and these people knock that right out of the park. I am happy to say, if Im having a stressful day and dont wanna cook and eat something that I know will taste good, I can always call these guys (and girls). Everyone in this restaurant should be proud of themselves for the quality service and top notch food they provide. This place is definitely handicap friendly Dietary restrictions: The texture of fat causes me to instanly loose appetite, and they try their best to cut it out for me every time. Of course we cant eliminate all the fat from a dish, but I can definitely tell they take two seconds to try and get get rid of as much as they can for me. And that is more then anyone could ask for. Thank you everyone for going above and beyond to provide an amazing Asian street food experience.
Fire beef and broccoli Chow Mein
Love this place! The food is soooooo good. Always stop here when I come over from the mainland to Vancouver Island.
Staff is amazing. Food is to die for. Favorite spot in Victoria. Vegetarian options: Tofu/veggie options for most menu items. But not sure why you would. Eat meat like a normal human. Dietary restrictions: Just ask Parking: Park out front Kid-friendliness: Bring your kids
Good, quick, quality Asian street food at a reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and helpful! Good place to try if youve never been. They have a patio and about a dozen seats inside; great for quick takeout.
Great food and you get a lot for your money. I really think this is a great place to grab a quick tasty meal. I like places like this that arent trying to be something flashy or fancy but offer good food at a great price.
Really good food, but the takeout boxes are such a tiny size, its only worth dining in.
Great food, but the chef does have a sweet palette. Very rich and tasty, but I prefer their more savary menu items. Great papaya salad.
Local staple. Pineapple fried rice was pretty mid but everything else I ve had there has been insane. Pad Thai, the paneer dish, pork belly, so good. Recommended for an easy little spot with big portions. Hungry thinking about it.
Wonderful, wonderful. Caramel chicken, beef with noodles, pork belly Consistently good over the years.
Take out has such small portions now!!! Last time I ordered take out, which honestly wasn t that long ago, it was double the size. This time my caramel chicken had three pieces of chicken, 3 pieces of cabbage and the tiny box was half full. Unfortunate!
Love this place
Really good food. I would only plan on eating in the restaurant if you are stopping for a quick lunch, its not overly comfortable or set up for a long stay. Also, you order at the counter so if you are looking for table service this wont work. But for a quick lunch or take out; this place is definitely worth trying. I will be back!
Great food freshly cooked. Really delicious. We will come back for sure
Dishes are well served, really nice quantities. We ordered 3 dishes and we had to take 1 in a box (2 adults and 2 kids). This place is delicious. They cook your plate on the spot, pretty fast too. The people there are very friendly and will consider go back on our next visit! I personally recommend the Caramel Chicken when visiting this place. Good luck! Vegetarian options: There are vegan dishes. Parking: There is plenty of parking there. Kid-friendliness: They have spoons and forks for children with no chopsticks experience.
Amazing food, great portion sizes! Dont let the little takeout boxes deceive you, they are PACKED.
The crispy ginger pork was an explosion of flavor in my mouth. I would definitely recommend it. The spice level was just right for me. My wife got the famous caramel chicken which she enjoyed. Both dishes are delicious. The potstickers though were just average fried pork dumplings. Their meat serving was plentiful that we had to ask for a to go box for some leftovers. Prices were reasonable considering it already includes taxes. Service was fast.
Very good food, one of the better takeout spots in Victoria. Most things seems to be just shy of 20$ which is a bit more expensive than I d like but it s hard to be disappointed. Definitely worth calling for pickup as the lines and wait can get a bit long otherwise and the parking lot is quite tight.
Had their black bean beef and broc chow mein. It had a unique smokey taste to it which Ive never experienced anywhere else and it was awesome.
Really bad pad Thai and beef chow mein
Such good food
Tried the sweet and sour pork belly and pork and pineapple fried rice. Tasty! Quite busy. Just a bit high on the price side but worth it.
Great patio seating, portions big enough for 2 meals.
Everything was fresh and crunchy. The kimchi was perfectly spicy, the tuna bowl was large and the fish was marinated extremely well. Ill be back...
Excellent food.
Not much seating; server seemed not to care that we were there. The food was fine, definitely overpriced for a street food option. I got the curried noodle stir fry (upon recommendation by the server over a daily special). It was approx. 80% noodle with not much veg/meat mixed in. Gyoza was good, not spectacular.
Parking: Excelent food Parking space
Kung Pao Tofu is a must order dish. Just do it.
Their Asian fusion Foods are to die for. Great location and outdoor dining
Foods always decent for a good price!
What a gem! This is what you might call a hole-in-the-wall treasure chest of a restaurant, given its humble appearance in proximity to just another liquor store but the food was divine! Some of the best spins on Thai classics I ve seen and tasted and I look forward to trying more. Not the most cozy spot given limited space and seating, but perfect for a quick yet quality meal alone or as a pair.
It was ok. Food was great when it finally got made, but the background music was very loud and annoying.
Ok food
The pork belly is unbelievable!!!!
Amazing food wow!
Beef and Broccoli Chow Mein was perfect. So full. Will be back for sure. Shanghai noodle bowl this time around, once again delicious and speedy. Food
The food is always phenomenal! Not a large area to eat in (outdoor patio is seasonal). I would 10/10 recommend the Saag Paneer Food
Food here sometimes is good sometimes is bad! Mediocre quality kind of food but at least it makes your belly full
Didnt care for food at all, thought by review rating I would try it, worst pad thai Ive ever had and Ive eaten alot of pad thai , the mango salad was inedible
When it s good, it s so good! However the quality is not consistent. Vegetarian options: Clear vegan options
Absolutely amazing
