Established in 1855, the Six Mile Pub is the Oldest Pub in BC. This beautiful property is located on the bank of Millstream which flows into Esquimalt Harbour. Centrally located within the Westshore of Victoria, next to the Galloping Goose Regional Bicycle Trail and the arterial Island Highway, the Six Mile Pub has served generations of local Victorians. The large menu features made-from-scratch Pastas, Breads and Desserts. Ingredients are sourced responsibly and thoughtfully and include herbs and vegetables from her own Culinary Garden and Apiary as well as meats and vegetables from neighbouring farms. Because menu items are prepared on-site with whole ingredients, the Culinary team is able to adapt recipes to accommodate special diets.
I am from Edmonton AB here to visit family and I just need to give a shout out to Fawn at 6 Mile for delivering exceptional service along with the kitchen staff for making me exceptional food!!! I had the Gluten Free Lobster Shrimp Benny, it was the best gluten free meal I have ever had because it didn’t taste gluten free and their whole menu is loaded with gluten free options that you don’t have to pay extra for which you don’t see anywhere ever… so if you need or prefer gluten free or don’t and just like incredible food… EVERYONE must come here and try the wide variety of awesome 😎
Lovely old pub. Good service. I haf the.fish and chips but none of it was hot and the place was not busy. Also had the onion rings w/coconute - give it a miss -and they weren't hot either. Batter on the fish was what I usually expect- very pale and seemed a bit thicker than usual. Overall not sure I'd go back...although I saw a couple of burgers go to another table and they looked good- might go back to try one. The BEST thing ... was the sticky toffee pudding! That was great!
My hubby's whisked me away for a surprise weekend in BC and we just so happened to drive by this place. I'm so glad we stopped in because the food was EPIC! The homemade perogies were incredible and the rustic burger was my everest!! Sierra was an awesome server and this made our already legendary trip even more awesome! If you're in the city definitely pop by this place, you won't be disappointed!
This restaurant is a MUST every time we visit Victoria. I've enjoyed the fish and chips, shepard's pie, and the onion rings starter. All delicious. All gluten free. I love that is a celiac safe restaurant. We are visiting for our 30th wedding anniversary, and Pam, our server, was wonderful. She was helpful answering our questions about the food, the area, and Canada! Just delightful! We've eaten here twice on this trip!
This place is beautifully presented with a spacious setup and friendly staff. We had the viking burger and double onion ring burger. They were both amazing and didn't last long. The cocktail was very good also. I definitely recommend a visit.
Met friends here for dinner at this historic pub. Our chicken wings were not hot or crispy when they arrived and at $12 for 5 wings, we were disappointed (and surprised) they came with NO carrots or celery… I mean come on!! Our friends ordered the paella and the beef dip. They enjoyed their food better than we did. Our server was friendly and I’m a sucker for old pubs. This one closes at 9pm on a Wednesday night.
It was a great dining experience! Old looking pub but oh my God! Their food and drinks was a 100% for me! Great customer service with our server, Faye. You should check it out! 📢
What a little piece of history this place is. If you’re cycling, they provide you with a free bike lock.. right down the street from a really great park.. the bar was professional courteous, and was like an actual professional and knew about all the beers that they have available. Great atmosphere lots of play darts play pool live band eat food.. If you’re passing through Anita or a quick drink. It’s worth the stop check out all the history on the walls. It’s unbelievable. It’s like a museum..
Great service, food, and atmosphere! Certainly going back.
Bad vibes as soon as we walked in. Order some coffee drinks. They totally did it wrong as it was missing ingredients and the bartender was rude a.f. as I asked about why it was missing ingredients and tasted disgusting. End of the story we left and wont return and now we are at the four mile enjoy ourselves. Just keep going its not far.
I stopped by last week for lunch with a group and had the most amazing beet root salad! Kiesha was our server and was so attentive and polite, which was nice after a busy shopping morning! Beautiful decor also added to the experience-we will be back
This PUB should be the kind of restaurant that has a line-up outside, it is THAT good. Beautifully presented, excellent food (some wonderful twists on traditional pub fare..think lasagne: rolled & sliced like pinwheel, whaat!) and great service staff (attentive, all meals out piping hot). First time I have been there in @ 8 years so I must have missed the memo on this one. Susanna Crofton
My swim team hosted their Alumni event at Six Mile on the evening of October 19th. I was initially in contact with David, the pub s manager. He was great with communication, very accommodating, and excited to host our event. Our server was Liam; a wonderful and attentive waiter who was a pleasure to have serving us! He was kind, polite, and friendly. He was attentive to everyone in our party and stayed calm and relaxed during a busy night. Thank you Liam and David for a great night! I highly recommend The Six Mile Pub for any event, big or small! Our team will definitely be back!
It makes me very proud to work here and wether I m a guest or a employee I m treated five star. Pam server at the six mile Food
Great atmosphere, but what really made the experience was the unbelievable service from Fawn. We were a large party, with seniors and kids, and tons of dietary needs, taking up more space than the waitstaff could afford us, but we were always treated with patience and generosity, and Fawn worked her tail off constantly checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed.
My food was really good. This is a friendly establishment with a great tradition in the area. But eating out is just getting way too expensive (for me) and prices here seem high. Its happening everywhere, so not a knock on this place specifically.
Beautiful old tavern. Excellent gluten-free menu! Dietary restrictions: Dedicated fryer! Large gluten-free menu! Food : 5/5 |
Great selection of gluten free! My favourite is the gluten free calamari! They make their own gluten free buns too! I appreciate the great gluten free selection! The sticky toffee pudding was out of this world! Thank you Faune for a great experience! See you next time!
We had an excellent family dinner at the pub. Our large group was served by Faune who did the best job ever.
The inviting ambience and location, coupled with excellent food and customer service, make it a standout pub on Vancouver Island. Dining on the patio with a gorgeous view on a nice sunny day is such a bonus. The wide variety of vegan options adds to the appeal, making it an ideal choice for guests with discerning tastes for plant-based dishes. Highly recommend this place.
We went for a friends birthday party. (A group of 40 people) Our server Fawn was amazing. She was very busy, but stayed calm and efficient. She was always smiling, helpful and very apologetic when the kitchen was running behind. The night was a great success. Thank you Fawn and Six Mile for a fun night! Dietary restrictions: Very good for celiac. They have a dedicated person and frier to ensure no cross contamination.
I remember the 6 mile pub as an amazing heritage, true Public House years ago. Even though we have been confused with the menu over the past few years, we have come back because the food is good. Unfortunately, the menu has gone too far in a direction we just don t understand. Yes be innovative, the dietary choices are amazing but, all has been lost in the menu when it comes to being a historic pub. I m a Chef and always excited to try new things. My husband enjoys traditional food done well. This is not the location for that. Born and bread on the Island, visiting this location for decades. I hope a happy medium can be found. Was there on Sunday 1:00. Should be packed for brunch. May have had 10 tables. Such an amazing historic location, I truly hope things can change.
Phenomenal food and pub atmosphere. Kid friendly with a kids menu, too. Somewhat pricey for a pub, but what isnt these days.
Attended a birthday party November 2 at the 6 mile pub Sierra the waitress was outstanding She was cheerful, professional, and very attentive to everyones needs. Thank you, Sierra. Service
Appys and beer today ! Service by Faune was excellent and the appys were so great and tasty. Presentation was also really wonderful. Kudos to the chefs. We will come again. Loved it.
What a find! Loved the cozy atmosphere, similar to all the old pubs in England, which we love. Audra, our server, couldnt have been more pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, which is hard to find these days. Only wish we could pick up the pub and bring it home to our city.
Nice place, but a bit pricey. The wings arent that great. The staff were all really nice.
The coziest pub with the most colourful menu! My fiancé and I are vegetarian, and finding options at restaurants can be difficult. Six Mile Pub truly shines with a variety of different vegetarian options that are unique and creative. The Halloumi Burger and Artichoke Lasagna were absolutely delicious and will keep us coming back for more. Our server, Fawn, was so lovely and the atmosphere at Six Mile is so warm and inviting. Highly recommend!
Im a cocktail enthusiast, and Cameron the bartender has really stepped up every time I visit. He might be Victorias best kept secret in the bar circuit. Always great having him look after us.
Good price for off sales
We had a great dinner at Six Mile Pub. The calamari was delicious and the bangers and mash was tasty and filling. Our server Faune was helpful in suggesting to us which meals to order. We will return to try more menu items. Dietary restrictions: Since we have a member of our group with a wheat/gluten allergy, it was nice to see so many items on the menu that could be eaten by her.
The fish and chips I had were great. The service was friendly and quick. The building is older and quirky, but I think modernizing it would go against the feel of the place.
So good tons of options for any dietary concerns
Be careful. If you dont like that a burger here can be as much as $28.00. Dont say just make me a cheese burger (without asking the price). The waitress didnt blink an eye she said people ask for that all the time, sure we can do that. What they will do is take a base price of 23.00 and add a few bucks for the cheese, bacon and youll end up paying 28 -$30.00. And with burnt black bacon. We are getting used to that gouging at the grocery store, but come on, up to $30.00 for a burger, get real! Ive lived here when you could hardly get parking here because all the working men would be in there after work. The food was good and REASONABLY priced and I bet they did a good business. Now that are gourmet ... look out! Easy to get a seat, though, lots of empty tables. They used to fill those back rooms not they have to block them off. Never again.
Had a great experience here. Also, there are so many GF options. They are active in the Celiac Scene . Great menu (which we were told is being updated in a couple of weeks, but the top rated items are staying). Dietary restrictions: Gluten Allergy (Celiac)
Beef dip is fantastic. Audra is awesome, thanks!
Rachelle was our excellent server. She made our experience. I rate her higher than atmosphere or food!
Great Atmosphere Great Service and Food. Fantastic History
Not impressed, food is OK, service is OK, not worth the money
Food gave us food poisoning. Everything including the French fries were super oily and reheated, definitely not fresh. Server seemed like she was angry at her job? Atmosphere looks like it hasn t changed since the 80 s, very tacky. Saying a couple nice things about how they treat the environment seems a ploy to charge pretentious prices. Would not visit again.
Incredible lunch! Our server was excellent and had a number of recommendations - one of which was the lobster bisque which was life changing- so so delicious! Much more rich than you would normally expect and incredibly flavourful. The salad was excellent, BLT was a hit and the beers are served in chilled glasses. If we are ever back in the city we will be back for the soup!
Our server, Fawn, was amazing giving us fine service while being the only server. I don t know how you do it! The Apple Crisp was heavenly. Too bad the fish tacos are no longer on the menu. Dietary restrictions: They offer lots of GF and vegan options.
Found this gem thanks to the Celiac Scene website, and now I come back every time Im on Vancouver Island. I had the braised beef short rib this time which was delicious. The pierogies are a must-have, and they even have keto cheesecake that is sweetened with monkfruit! Pam was our server and not only had great energy, but was also knowledgeable about the menu and able to answer all of my questions about menu items to accomodate my celiac disease. Highly reccomend! Dietary restrictions: Celiac safe! Great cross contamination prevention protocols in their kitchen and half the menu is gluten free. Also great vegetarian options
Great lunch here. Service superb and everyone friendly. Food good and great history write up.
Charming atmosphere but super laid back! Delicious food, the onion rings were amazing. Would definitely recommend stopping by if youre in the area.
Comfortable and clean environment. Fresh and delicious beet and arugula salad. High quality service from our lovely server Faune. Thank you Six Mile for an exquisite Sunday afternoon experience. Can t wait to come back!
Average pub fare with Crazy high prices. 27$ chicken burger??? Love to see how many of those they sell. Sometimes places forget who they are, where they are and who their clients are or on this case were On the brightside they do have decent GF and Veg options available.
Great food, beer, setting and service.
Wow! What service. Stephanie was incredible! Came in near close and she took such great care of us. Great recommendations and great to chat with. Thanks! We ll be back!
This is an absolute gem of an establishment. Oldest pub in BC and has the atmosphere youd look for given that. Classy, homey, ornate, and fun. 25 cent pool tables, dart boards, lots of seating. A good place to bring your friends, especially visitors to town. The food is incredible. This pub is very selective with their ingredients and the dishes are out of this world. If you have dietary restrictions, they have a lot of options for you as well. Drinks menu is pretty good too, including non-alcoholic options. The bartender, Cam, is an awesome dude - very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, good for conversation, and skilled in his trade. Ive thoroughly enjoyed every visit here. My thanks to the bar and kitchen staff, and to management!
We were a very large group and our server, Fawn, handled us like a rock star. She was kind, communicative, and incredibly helpful for all the idiosyncrasies that come from bringing 45 people together for a dinner and celebration. The food was great and the space is wonderful!!
Always accommodating and delicious. If you have any allergies or food restrictions the chef and team are some of the best I ve seen. New addition Pamela to the team is bringing the good east coast hospitable vibes to an already sterling team. Will be back, again and again.
Had one of the best tasting taco ensembles here. The Mustard Marinated Cod Taco with homemade sixnature kimchi, shredded iceberg lettuce & cheddar. The avocado salsa and the pico de gallo were delicious flavours., each had a hint of sweetness. The rainbow salad along with light fresh sweet dressing topped off the meal. Ocean Wise and Great Food that is Gluten Free. All round very flavourful meal! It was also the first time sitting in their outdoor area under the grape vines. Hoping to check out brunch menu soon!
Amazing gluten and celiac friendly options that were delicious for the gluten loving family members as well!
Good experience
I hadnt been here in years and man has it ever gone down hill since my last visit. Menu is totally different and not in a good way. Its Way overpriced for what you get and not even that good. $6 for a cup of coffee?! Hate to say it but Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
Came on a Sunday and lots of seating and the patio over the water was open. Had the Shepherd s Pie and it was TOP NOTCH! Service was incredible! Highly recommend it. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options - LOTS
Vegetarian options: A number of great vegetarian options, even vegan options. Really excellent falafel burger (one of my all-time favourites from some 30+ years of eating them!), and I was impressed to see Nasi Goreng made with soy chunks for protein, which Id tried previously in a takeout order - delicious! Parking: Parking is plentiful, and very close to the door, including two extra-wide accessible parking spots.
Lots of non alcoholic options. The pool tables are wonky, one jams the other is crooked but it s still a really good time
We had a very delicious dinner with drinks and awesome service from Pam!! I got a completely gluten free meal, and WOW!! I highly recommend coming out on Tuesdays for some GF pasta! If not Tuesday, their normal menu is loaded with GF options as well! I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu! Vegetarian options: They offer a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans! Dietary restrictions: Very friendly for people with celiac disease or a gluten sensitivity!
Im not celiac or gluten free but my friends are and they were more than excited to go here since many of the items are gluten free without even asking for a change. Perogies were massive and good. Alot of great offerings here. Will have to try again to try some more things. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free items! Not just salad either.
Stopped by with a friend for a couple beers and a snack. The atmosphere was great. Like a cozy British pub with wood paneling everywhere. Great beer selection. The bartender was professional and quick. And our pub calamari was great. If I lived in Victoria, this would be a staple for me. Will seek this place out again next time Im in town.
Amazing food and great people! The atmosphere and quality of service and eats was above and beyond. Thank you guys!
Wow. Great tasting food and great service.
Go for the drinks but the lobster bisque is the real star!
Great place, great food, great people!
Great old country pub style and historical presence in the area.
Had a great experience here as a celiac! Pam was our server and she was fantastic and made me feel very safe. I got to eat food that I haven t had since my diagnosis. Delicious!
Such great service and amazing food! We loved our server, Keisha. She was super accommodating, patient and kind. It was really nice to see the chemistry amongst all the staff - It s clear they all really like and respect each other, which as a customer, is really nice to be apart of. The food is sooooo so so good. Expect high quality ingredients and homemade dishes. This pub partners with local producers, and makes their food from scratch. The approachable menu has lots of options for gluten free to vegans, and uses ocean wise products. We love the keto friendly cheesecake, as we avoid refined sugars and prefer an option that fits our needs. The Buffalo-style chicken burger is a game changer and I no longer even look at the menu. I come just for this dish. Extremely kid friendly! MUST GO!
Our waitress, Pamela, was very attentive. Gave us excellent recommendations for gluten free safe food. We ordered the Shepherds pie and gnocchi with arugula, fried mushrooms, added chicken breast in a savory sauce. Heaven! So, so good. Highly recommend by 2 very sensitive celiacs. Dietary restrictions: Dine with an Apple allergy and strictly gluten free. Both accommodated.
My new wife and I hosted our wedding here, David and Teg worked with us to come up with a great meal for us and our fiends. They were very accommodating with the theme of D&D. On the day of, the wait staff Pam, Fay And Rochel where the best, they aways made sure our wedding guests had what they needed, and at the end of the night helped us pack up the our left over food. If i could give more stars there would be more then 5.
Food
Food sometimes not 100%
We were at the pub for a wedding on Friday 13th of September! The atmosphere was amazing and everything was so beautiful. All of us were dressed up for a special Dungeons and Dragons wedding, and the staff were so friendly and complimentary about it. So cool. They had a whole separate section of the pub set up for the wedding and reception. The food was I had the smashed potatoes, turkey roulade, and some kind of salad whose dressing tasted like god himself made it. The staff were extremely attentive and on the ball, considering how many of us there were! Never had an empty glass! Definitely will be back, and would consider this place for another special occasion! Wheelchair accessibility: I actually had a walker, not a wheelchair, but a very kind server helped me get up and down the small steps! So kind.
My sister and her fiancé, now husband, had their wedding there. What a beautiful venue and the food was top notch! They went above and beyond for any requests made and the staff were super welcoming and friendly. Thanks for a great night!
Best place if you are celiac. Gourmet meals. So much flavor. Local and healthy! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Richelle was our server tonight and was fantastic! Dietary restrictions: Celiac certified!
I ordered the Roast Beef Dip and I have to say that it was the best beef dip that I ve had! I usually save half (of whatever I order) to take home, but it was so delicious that I could not help but eat all of it. Our server, Faune, was attentive, kind and came to our table, just when we needed her. Her presence was a delight and you can tell that she is someone who enjoys her work. The patio was warm, welcoming, and gorgeous with all the natural plants decorating the space. Overall, it was a wonderful experience on a beautiful and sunny day.
Good food and service
Overpriced and bad quality
Do not book a big event or celebration here. They do not schedule enough staff to attend the guests. Currently at a retirement party here (not my event) and there are over 50 guests and only TWO servers. We ordered drinks an hour and a half ago which are now empty and the server has noy come back to us to take our food order. They are fixated on getting every new guest thier first drink and not returning for food orders. It is a shame because they could have made alot of money on food orders if they had scheduled enough staff. When booking such an event you would think one of the questions would ask how many guests are expected and from that number they could schedule staff appropriately. My rating is from THIS visit only. I cannot rate above 1 star for food (as we never were able to order), or service (as they dis not schedule staff appropriately for a large reservation event), or atmosphere as the previous two kind of ruined the atmosphere for this visit. I have eaten here before and it a is a lovely little place with a nice atmosphere and good food (if not a bit too trendy and focused on speciality diets to be be pub fare. Prices are a bit high. If you are coming with a small number of people then it is a good place and nice experience (provided there is not a party going on, then it gets VERY noisy).
Absolutely loved the atmosphere and learning the history behind this amazing pub. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was fabulous and they had many gluten free and keto friendly options. The gluten free bun was made in house and was delcious , the chicken burger patty was also made in house and seasoned to perfection. My spouse had the fish and chips and was not greasy at all, the food was very clean and very tasty. I would fursure go back and highly recommend it. I wish I got our servers name so I could rave on more about her. Thank you six mile house for having so many options for me , oh ya before I forget we took home keto friendly cheesecake that we will be trying a little later :)
Awesome patio
Its has all the best qualities of rustic locations its appealing to the eye as well as stocked to provide a nice meal with friends or the ingredients to enjoy a nice quiet evening at home it brings back a lot of memories as a child
Overpriced for the low-quality food. Be aware that the chicken burger is made from ground chicken. Very disappointing. Food
While my mum came to visit, we went to restaurants across Victoria. The service was great at many but Six Mile Pub hands down was the best. Our server, Morgan, was friendly, remembered our drinks from our last visit, and was exceptionally prompt with taking our order and delivering food and drinks. 10/10 recommend going to Six Mile and asking for Morgan. Thank you again starting and ending our vacation on a fabulous note. I cant wait to come back!
Its okay for a family meal. Shepherds pie could have done with a side of something to break up the single flavour.
very nice pub
Delicious food, friendly staff, and pool tables! Lots of parking as well.
Service was fine but food was less than good. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was so over fried there was nothing left of it. Sent it back and waited for our mains. I don t think a pub could possibly screw up fish and chips but they did. The fish came out looking anaemic and matched the colour of the bland tartare sauce. Two people in our party ordered the Papperdalle pasta with mushrooms and chicken. It was entirely too rich. The only acceptable meal was the falafel burger was large and the person who ordered it enjoyed it. We won t bother trying 6 Mile Pub again
Everything was so tasty!!! I was really surprised by such a quality of food and drinks!!! The stuff was nice and polite and even spent time to find the finals of Rogers Cup on TV. Of course my recommendations to everyone who wants to spend evening overthere.
My wife and I stopped in at the Six Mile Pub for a beer and a snack yesterday, and were served by Faune, who was awesome and friendly and gave great recommendations. Not sure why all the hate in other reviews, but our experience was excellent! We had a couple mugs of cream ale to wash down the two servings of calamari strips we got, all of which was really really good!! Would highly recommend this place - friendly, excellent service (even the barman greeted us and said good bye!) and great atmosphere, and fast, delicious food and drink. Will definitely visit again! Dont listen to the haters - try it for yourself and see what youre missing.
On holiday from the states and this was in the neighborhood we stayed in. Food was good not excellent not just ok. Atmosphere was authentic pub vibes and service was adequate. Definitely on the expensive side. Dietary restrictions: Pretty much the whole menu is gluten free or has that option.
We just had some garlic fries to share n a couple of beers each. Great service. Fries excellento. Recommended. I tried to find out why the Six Mile has the Hole ith Wall stained glass window. It usually refers to a small pub or eatery. Which obviously isnt the case with the Six Mile . I couldnt really find anything on Google.
12 out of 10. Food and drink were amazing. Faune was our server and she is a boss. Best service my wife and I have had in a long time. This lady is a pro. Can t say enough good things. Can t wait to return.
This was my first time eating here. I had fish cakes with jalepeno chutney that were so delicious. The artichoke and portobello mushroom lasagna was really tasty in a tomato sauce with a bit of a spicy kick. Make sure to save room for the house made honey vanilla ice cream and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I ll definitely be back.
Excellent food. Lovely location Good vibe. Great staff. Food : 5/5 |
Food was excellent! I was surprised how good the nasi goreng was. Highly recommend everyone else s dishes looked really good as well. Gendered washrooms.
Kid-friendliness: They have crayons and a kids menu. Food
Food and services were amazing. The food was taste and nutritious, very satisfying. I ranked 2 stars for the atmosphere because it is a very dark place. Meaning not much light, and we were blinded by the light when stepping outside LOL. I still recommend the place for a good moment with friends for a drink.
Really great atmosphere, good food and service spicy mango margarita was phenomenal!
We very much enjoyed the atmosphere. Did not really find it wheelchair friendly. Doors narrow and no washrooms. A large wheelchair could not manage in this pub. Its an old Establishment so doors are all narrow. I have a very narrow wheelchair so we managed. Really good food. Enjoyed calamari, cod and chips and fish tacos. All r Wete excellent.
Better than expected - me it has some personality and class. Our third time here and only went with a gift certificate but it has clearly reinvented itself and it s so good. Great service and a surprisingly great menu - classy take on traditional pub food. They won me back!
Excellent food. Best gluten free fish and chips. The salmon and cod cakes were delicious. We loved the sauce. Service was quick and friendly. Loved all tge gluten free choices.
We celebrated my husbands 65th birthday last night and the staff and atmosphere couldnt have been better! There were about 20 of us and our server Liam was the best. Food tasted awesome and portions were good. Thank you all again for making it a memorable night. Highly recommend!
Probably one of the best brunches weve had. 3 cheese/3 egg omelette plus ++. Faune, great, pleasant service. Thank you. Food
Traditional old pub atmosphere. Local historic site with a certain charm. Tends to be slow service but staff are friendly. Food is pub style and good but would avoid the shepherds pie as it is more than 90% mashed potatoes with very little meat. Bangers and mash is a better choice here. Good selection of beers.
Arrive wet after walking in the rain from our campsite for a late lunch. It wasn t too busy so our waiter, Morgan, was quick and attentive. We decided to eat big for lunch and both opted for pasta. I had the seafood spaghetti and hubby the lobster Mac and cheese. Food was amazing .lots of seafood in mine with a light but tasty sauce and the one bite of the lobster Mac I got was also very good. We each had a second drink before walking back so it was a healthy tab but well worth it!
Alicia is a total delight. Excellent service, food, drinks, and atmosphere. A new favourite
Seriously the worst fish and chips I have ever tried to eat. Batter was thick and hard like a football helmet, virtually inedible.
This is one of my favorites of the zone. Bring your family for an awesome meal. You could also bring the crew and enjoy the great beer selection.
Food was great, but the prices are awful, a burger shouldnt be $30 dollars, an yes their were onion rings in my burger but that doesnt excuse the prices
Hadnt been to this historic pub in many years. It is so nice that they are keeping up with the times with their food options and offer such a diverse menu - including vegan options like Creme Brulee. Robin our server was 5 even though she had two big groups to deal with.
Went in tonight for nachos and a kids meal with my partner and toddler. We waited for over an hour to be served soggy chips (for 30 bucks) and chicken nuggets with fries. I dont see how this could possibly have taken an hour?! It seemed as if things had been waiting at the pass for sometime under a heat lamp. Three tables seated after us with two and three people received their entrees before us. When I said we would need to leave (the toddler was too hungry) we were given a $4 discount on a $40+ meal. What a disappointment... I think I echo a lot of reviewers when I say this place was great in the past but is just sad and over priced now.
Family and I would come here pretty frequently, they had nice seating in the family area, food was pricy and average, each time we went things got a little worse, culminating with our last visit where: Our table of three waited 75 minutes for toddlers chicken tenders and Nachos after bringing up the matter several times And Having many others who were seated after us served 20+ minutes before we were And Were eventually served a disappointing plate of soggy cheese-wizz chips with 10-15 beans (it was 30 dollars somehow). And Listening to booming bass from another room while being trapped waiting for our food Place has really gone down hill and overpriced (as many have said) Kid-friendliness: have crayons and kid menus
Great service wait staff so awesome
Its a great place. Its an old building, sometimes the smell inside is less than appetizing but its never stopped us from going. Dietary restrictions: Super gluten free friendly.
We had no idea this place was so big and had such a beautiful patio out back! Right on the water.
The fish and chips were excellent. The patio is the best place to eat on a warm day. Otherwise the inside is a typical bar. Dietary restrictions: They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer.
Food was par, service was a bit slow because of being understaffed, atmosphere is open and cozy Vegetarian options: There is a small choice of delicious salads
Great food and service but expensive coffee.
Good gluten free options
Service was good and pleasant. Food was timely and hot. Had the Cod Tacos. I found the Kimchi way too salty
Slow service, food portions small. Nice old style pub atmosphere.
Good location except for entrance to parking area. Good pub food.
Excellent menu of many gluten-free options. It was so nice to be able to order gf wild cod fish and chips. Sticky toffee pudding was also gf and delicious. We enjoyed great service from Fawn and had the best lunch Ive had in many years. Thank you Six Mile Pub.
April 2024: Very expensive for mediocre food; $25.00 for a Rueben sandwich is ridiculous. Saving grace Staff were great! Despite the history, Facilities could use a deep cleaning!!
off to a bad start before we even sat down as the nice table that was supposed to be reserved for our party was taken because staff did not place a reserved sign on it. weekend evening and they must ve been understaffed as it wasn t very busy by any means but the poor waitress was running around everywhere, and it took quite a while to get service and to have everything out. Do NOT get the onion rings, you get three to your $6.50 up charge and they are overly battered and soft. they were literally onion donuts, absolutely disgusted by the couple people who had them. Do NOT order the mushroom gnocchi, the texture was so overly done and mushy I coundn t get past two bites. the sauce tasted like a can of mushroom soup and the deep fried mushrooms were too salty to enjoy. Do NOT order the Thai chicken bowl, it looked more like a bagged salad with bean sprouts was thrown on it with very few small chicken pieces. Do NOT order the beef dip. For the price point it was at it was the plainest cheapest thing I had ever seen. nothing special to it just a small plain white bun with meat. not much rooms or onions or cheese or anything whatsoever to set it apart from something you could get at like dennys for half the cost. heck dennys could do it better tbh. Do NOT order a cesar to drink either! you d think a pub could at least do that right. Honestly no one had a meal they thoroughly enjoyed from our party of 6 and I can t think of one thing I d recommend you order. Needless to say we felt terrible for bringing our guests here and we will not be returning.
Great food. Worth a visit. Excellent service
We had a delicious lunch on a quiet Monday. Our server Fawn was very helpful with my wifes food allergy concerns. Great service. Dietary restrictions: dairy and rice
Our new local! Absolutely gorgeous and historic!
Really good food that felt like the cooks enjoyed making it. Outstanding service, I never caught her name but she had bright green eyes and the most amazing smile. She really made our night. Great spot for sure.
Great little pub, Some coworkers and I popped in for a refreshment after work. The decore is outstanding, there are lots of antiques. I was intrigued by an old telephone booth and some old school phones. There is a semi private room and some outdoor seating available, plenty of tables inside. The service was great and the menu looks good but we didnt stay for a bite. Id definitely go back next time Im in the area. I gave the food a and service a 4 even though we didnt order food because the service was excellent and we didnt wait around thirsty. Wheelchair accessibility: Pretty easily navigated.
With two celiacs and lots of little eaters it can be tricky finding a spot for the whole family to gather. But we found it at the 6 mile. Everyone found something delicious to eat and there was enough room for children to respectfully move around and regulate. Our server was fantastic. Dietary restrictions: Really good gluten free options and no cross contamination. Kid-friendliness: Lots of choice for the kids and really friendly.
Expensive and small portions. Move along
My partner and I came here twice during our trip through the Island , once for a few appetizer snacks, and once for dinner, and both times were amazing. I especially loved how many gluten free options were available, from appetizers, to main dishes, to dessert, including two gluten free beer choices. Dining with gluten restrictions can be difficult , but Six Mile Pub was so accommodating. The service was also wonderful, and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you are looking for a celiac friendly spot.
One of my favourite pubs for lunch.. Im only sad as they had THE BEST clubhouse on the planet and for some unknown reason removed it from the menu.. I used to traverse the town just for that delectable sandwich... I asked our server to bring this up with the chef.. my fingers are crossed it returns!! Until then, I wait.,
Fast and friendly attentive service. The food at this historic pub is absolutely delicious. I had the kimchi black bean tacos and my partner the gnocchi. Both were exceptional. Perfectly spicy and fresh. Crème Brûlée dessert was to die for. Highly recommended.
Stopped in with friends last night for a bite and a pint after a long day at the beach. The beef dip was tasty and our server Alicia was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back to try her other recommendations!
Waitress was more interested in watching the game than serving. Food took an hour.
First time eating here / visiting Victoria. They have a beautiful patio area that overlooks some greenery and the menu has lots of gluten free options. The best part about my whole experience was the waitress/ staff . They were all very kind and welcoming! Shout out to our waitress with the beautiful braids and smile, thanks for making our experience a great one sis.
Awesome Pub & Eatery. Alot of history. The Best of the Best Service on Vancouver Island. ( Victoria, BC) Food
First, the good things: ambiance is very pleasant as is the wait staff. Theres ample parking, and the view of the river is pleasant, too. The food, once it came, was mostly fairly good, but heres where the trouble starts. Background: we were a larger party (8 adults, 1 toddler), and it was Mothers Day. They were inadequately staffed on the floor, and our server was having a lot of difficulty trying to keep up. It took 25 minutes for her to get to our table for drink orders and to give us menus. A further 25 minutes, water finally arrives, and orders are taken. I must add that we had made a reservation, so we werent springing this on the establishment. To add to my frustration, there were two manager or host types who were constantly wandering about, apparently at a loss for what to do. Clients were waiting for coffee refills (or their first cups, as in our case) or water refills or for plates to be cleared... you get the picture, Im sure. At about the one hour mark, the party of 8 who arrived shortly after us rose to leave, just as their drink orders arrived. I felt their pain, and they were pretty clear in their dissatisfaction. About 20 minutes later, our meals arrived at last. Some were hot, some were... not. I used to be a sous-chef, and Im absolutely certain that my salad, my hamburger, and my water shouldnt all be the same temperature! No table check, so no chance to fix the situation. All in all, over 2 hours to be served, pay, and leave. All the while the two background people wandered around, looking lost. Some recommendations from a long-established hotel and restaurant guy: cut back your menu and streamline your offerings, especially on days that are going to be crazy, like Mothers Day. A buffet would have been a far, far better option. Service and turnover are expedited, tables are cleared faster (especially if hosts and managers pitch in! Seriously, its NOT beneath you!) For your menu, reduce the options, and do them better.. Hire more staff forbig days. Train ancillary staff to pitch in. You have the makings of a terrific place, but I will not be back after two consecutive disappointing visits until and unless you make some major changes.
It smells very musty.. Along with a mixture of mothballs .... Not very inviting... The food was atrocious!! Along with the atmosphere..bright lights..annoying music.. Its ok if u want to just get drunk fast..lol.. and dont care about anything else... Its like the local drunk sewing circle...trying to live your best life. Went once..never going back . a mickey of vodka and McDonalds wouldve been better.
Kinda pricey, but really good!
We had a large group of 16. Able to be a bit separated from the rest of the pub which was great for mingling. Our server Evie was terrific. Looked after us wonderfully. It was a mini reunion and enjoyed by all. Thank you!
Not my cup of tea
Service was excellent, food was good at a reasonable cost.
Great veggie burger (lentil), and garlic fries a bit expensive but still good. Beer, very nice
The service was absolutely amazing!! The server Evie was amazing!!
Classic pub, as it should be since it is the oldest in BC! Great staff and fantastic food.
Faune is the most amazing server here! She s so kind, remembers all our favorite things and was always so attentive. Next time we re in Victoria, we ll be back at Six Mile to see Faune!
Fauna- wow! Such a great customer service professional. Highly recommend! Dietary restrictions: So many GF options!! Food : 5/5 |
I was visiting town with my roller derby team and Faune s service was so exceptional we came here four days in a row. Love the gluten free options. The food was fresh, and Faune kept our drinks full. She is a shining employee and gave us great recommendations in the area.
Great service. Awesome waitress named Audrey! But sadly, the food was not so great :( The beef burger was decent but the Gangnam style chicken burger was TERRIBLE! Ive never had that one before so maybe it was an off night but it was not pleasant at all and with the price of it, it was even more disappointing. Vegetarian options: Nice vegetarian options available
Lots of seating, great food, fantastic options for gluten and dairy free, lots of choice and very friendly and efficient staff. Ill be back! Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Very willing to modify where possible to avoid dairy or gluten.
Bangers & mash is AMAZING!! Sticky toffee pudding with in house made ice cream - we wanted to lick our plates clean!!!
We had a large group and we had a great time. Food is good and the atmosphere is great. Our server Faune, was an allstar - 11 out of 10 for her service. She really made it a great experience for all 20 of us.
With two celiacs in the family, there are a ton of options on the menu to let everyone find something they like. Good service, great calamari. Dietary restrictions: GF folks rejoice!
Sorry, but the food is terrible and overpriced. Have been there twice recently, mostly due to location, and both times the food was underwhelming. Had a burger tonight - tasteless, bacon was crunchy and tasted old. All for $28, which is more than most places these days. Last time was a similar story. Decent place to go for a beer, but won t be back for the food. Didn t used to be this way.
Had a few amazing drinks while dinning in. Decided to order the perogies to go. This is what you get for $16!!!! I totally thought they forgot to put the rest in. Apparently it is in fact 2 per order! Why so many side things for 2 tiny perogies?! Put that on the menu 6 mile! So bad disappointed!
Great pub. Ive been going there for 20 years. Wonderful atmosphere.
Always great food and Faune our server great. Just too cold for a 5 star atmosphere. Food
Weekend food menu is awful !
What happened to this gem of a pub? Ridiculously high prices for the amount of food. $17 for a small from with little to no gravy? Disappointed. Others around us weren t happy either. The new menu tries to act high end, but is missing the old school pub food, feel, and prices. At least the wait staff was good.
From the moment we walked in the door Eve made us feel welcome. She is friendly, has a great smile and knows how to treat people with kindness.
This was my first visit and I am glad I chose Six Mile! From the moment we entered, we were attended to like we haven t been in a long time. We were greeted by Eve, and she ended being our host for the evening. Eve has such a delightful disposition, asked us about where we would like to be seated, offered the menus, was genuine in her small talk, had a sweet smile on her face, made recommendations for drinks and bites & kept checking on us without being intrusive. When you extend genuine service, it shows! 5 stars to Eve & 5 stars to Six Mile Pub!! Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options
Disgusting. Friendly sad staff. I was warned by local friends, its gone downhill . It has. Cant simply put a piece of fish on a salad salmon salad not on our menu fine. Ordered smoked salmon eggs Benny instead. Busy = long delivery time. Fine. Eggs tasted of vinegar. Hollandaise sauce was more ..(lemon dill white sauce?) English muffin ? Nope. 2 itty bitty slices of toasted baguette. Not even diagonal cut to appear bigger ! Precisely 8 potato pieces, for fries . Salad was a wilted sad 3 tbsp of mixed field greens with moldy tasting bean sprouts. God only knows what the dressing was. A half a tomato, grainy, not fresh. Some attempt at grilling it was evident. (To hide lack of freshness?) Smoked salmon was sushi, no smoke. Portion was small, & Im a little sized lady. $26. 1 can of cider. $10. & no, they dont carry Growers cider anymore either. $40 later, Im disappointed & hungry. I do not recommend eating here. It survives on memories of its glory days.
Tried to order online doesnt go anywhere!!!
Excellent food and friendly service!
Wow. This place is awesome. Three of us raved about very different lunches.
Best lobster bisque ever Parking: More than 20 spots, and a liquor store on site. Food : 5/5 |
Love that they offer so many gluten free options but bring back some local craft cider please!
Excellent servers, awesome ambience . Unfortunately I wasnt super impressed with menu options on the Sunday brunch menu and I , as well as others felt the fries were over cooked and a poor portion size for the price . Its too bad because the hospitality and quality of this place has always been rather wonderful as well as the food
Was here the last night, and Faye was our server.. I was so caught up with friends that I forgot to take pictures This place has been around for as long as I can remember, at least 30+ years if Im correct. Such a cute little /big place, full of character inside and out. Staff is overly friendly ( if ever there is such a thing). Faye was so attentive to us all, came at the right times to check in on us, and felt very well taken care of so much, so I forgot to take pictures. A must visit, menu is plentiful to choose from, many gluten-free items (if thats your thing). Well kept and beautiful inside and out Thank you, Faye you made our night extra special ! Rose is happy March 20
Just had the best food (Im celiac and the choices were incredible) and the best server. Kiesha was phenomenal! Thank you!
Have a friend that with gluten intolerance and their menu and preparation were top notch.
We went for Dine Around a couple days ago for dinner. Between the 3 of us, we tried the $35/$45 three course menus. We were all very surprised by the portion sizes...very small, like a fine dining restaurant. The presentation was very nice and the food tasted good (but not exceptional) but there was just not enough of it - we strongly considered going to Burger King afterwards as we were still hungry after 3 courses. My friend was served literally 4 pieces of pasta for his main (for the $45 menu). When your bill is $90ish + tip for two people, generally I would expect to not leave hungry. The server was friendly and fairly attentive (she missed a few small things) but everything took a long time. We waited 15-20 minutes after we had finished each course for the next one. As our first experience at this restaurant, itll probably be our last.
Amazing service!!!
Excellent Shepherd s Pie
Great food! Love the Shepards pie and looking forward to trying the nasi goreng next time.
Stopped for happy hour at the 6 mile pub. Lots of character in this old building. It s quite large, we sat at the bar and had happy hour pints for seven dollars and a very tasty cake appetizer. Served with some kind of jam and tartar sauce. There are darts and pool table and the serving staff was friendly and fast. Definitely worth the stop. Not too far if you re playing Highland Pacific golf course.
Food was mediocre, portions were small. Coffee overpriced. Wont be back to 6 mile. Food : 2/5
