Relaxed bar & eatery with patio seating and waterfront views. AM Happy Hour, Happy Hour & Late Night Specials Daily
Excellent. This place really surprised me, because I only saw it from the road when I drove by to go to my hotel. It did not come up when I searched area restaurants. Glad I decided to walk over. It exceeded my expectations. Mac N cheese bites were amazing and I’m pretty sure homemade.
Stopped in for a bite and a drink before catching the ferry to Seattle. The decor is a funky throwback in time. Feels a little like an old Vegas bar. Had the fish n chips which were very tasty and enjoyable. Good beer on tap and friendly servers. Worth a stop if you’re in the area in Victoria.
This is a good relaxed place for a nice dinner. Not terribly expensive and has a pleasant view of the inner harbor across from the Blackball ferry. I had the Waterfront salmon burger with half salad and half sweet potato fries. My wife had the Belleville burger with sweet potato fries. Both were very good with hot fries. The patio was a bit chilly at 18 degrees. Maybe sitting inside would have been better since they still had the doors open to give you the view.
had breakfast here on labour day weekend! my drink was tasty, the chicken and waffles was good (but way better at The Ruby!) 4 stars for service as part of my order was forgotten and thus way later than the rest of the meal. 4 stars also because though the patio is EXCELLENT it features my number one most hated restaurant feature: too-low tables with too-high chairs making for just an awkward seating experience. table too low and chairs too high to lean, and also too low/high to sit back comfortably. i’m 5’2” and my feet could not touch the floor. absolutely hate that.
Great place to chill with reasonable prices. The food is good with great views. Recommend the cold beers and tacos. The service was great.
One of the best place in Victoria for brunch! Although could add more vegetarian options. Waffles and taco salad are must try:)
Nice patio The halibut was nicely battered but needs more fish. Very goid fries. Oh they can make you a nice Pims cup 🥤 My husband had a very good salad.
You'll feel like you stepped back in time. Very nostalgic vibe. Fun atmosphere. Across from the harbor. They have outdoor seating, but it was too 🥶 for that. The food was quite tasty and flavorful. Our server Chester was simply fantastic!! He was friendly, attentive and answered all questions with a smile. Would definitely eat here again on my next visit to Victoria.
The service was great. It was busy but we never felt neglected. All the food was delicious. It was my first visit but it will not be my last. Kid-friendliness: We were in the bar area and there were decorations on the walls with obscenities. Which is fine. Kids not welcome.
We had a great lunch and wow are server was so sweet She really made my friends birthday lunch special Parked for free the view is amazing food was awesome
Had a delicious breakfast with a nice view of the harbour.
Never disappointed with either the food or the service at the Bellevue!!!
Great service and delicious frosty beer and margaritas enjoyed with friends.
Retro lounge and restaurant... they go all-in with that theme, including bright orange like the 70s. Excellent menu and every dish weve tried is very good. Great drink choices as well!
Walked to the restaurant from our hotel. The 10 stairs up were a problem for the wheelchair in our party. We were told we had to walk around the block and enter from the rear of the building. Once inside we werent able to enjoy a beautiful evening on the patio because there were 2 steps down to it. We ended up in a dark, dingy bar area. The food was decent and plentiful. Do better for folks with mobility issues. Wheelchair accessibility: Have to enter from the rear of the building and no patio access. Very disappointing.
Very dirty kitchen, dont eat there
Has gone downhill over the years. Now just average food. Great service. Overpriced. Burgers and fish and chips
Surprisingly better than I expected! Especially as a local, I usually avoid tourists traps. The Avo. Club is great! Real chicken, large pieces of bacon, Roma tomato, fresh greens, cibatta was soft n fresh too. GF bun for Celiac folks. Great view of Vic on the patio.
We loved our trip. It takes a long time to get in the ferry but they have to do all the passport checks. Check out the gift shop. Its great!
Very friendly and great service.
Quality food. Very nice spot downtown Victoria. Hand pressed burgers done perfectly.. Been going here for years and I love it.
Had lunch and breakfast well staying at the hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful
Grateful for the dog friendly patio which wasnt that easy to find at the harbour. My Asian bowl was tasty and service was lovely. The space and furnishings could use an upgrade
New owners and totally new staff as far as I could see. ( Wait staff/ Bar staff ). Very disappointed that new owner has replaced all or most of older staff. Really liked older staff, they had super customer service. Was just in there and met new staff, seemed like they are also good. Just wondering why they let old staff go, kinda disappointing to me. Great atmosphere in this restaurant.
Honestly I would put the wings in my top 5 places Ive eaten.....well done wings and fall off the bone delicious
I ve been coming to this location off and on for years now and it s always been great food, great atmosphere, and great service. They ve added this little added service where they give you a complimentary glass of champagne while you wait. It s those little details that make a difference.
Nice place to have a drink. It s a bit expensive to eat there!
Terrible food. We had poutine with meat and it was a huge gloppy mess and spaghetti carbonara which was really bland and didn t have any flavor to it. The waitress screwed up the poutine order. She was also in washroom at same time as me. When she left the stall she headed toward the door until she saw me and then went to wash her hands. Makes me wonder how often she uses washroom without washing afterwards. Would not recommend - overpriced for what it was.
Huge banner for happy hour but there draft beer is over $11 for a pint . Huge rip off , only overpriced beer during unhappy hour . So sad
I got the bacon cheese burger and my wife got the Halibut burger, both were not edible. I got the poutine side, my wife got a salad you guessed it, disgusting. I came hungry and left disappointed and hungry. Do not recommend, don t come here.
Horrible breakfast food. The ham was disgusting, the hashbrowns were fried in old grease and tasted funny, and the toast was burnt. Would never eat there again.
They wanted to ID my 25 year old son who had a beard.
Good food
Fantastic food and service. Angel is wonderful. Extremely surprised to see this place only has a 4 star rating, deserves much better!
Excellent breakfast and dinner! To recommend.
Sat outside on the patio with excellent views on Victoria Inner Harbor. It was Happy hour so we started with the Bacon, cheese and leek flatbread. It was very tasty. For dinner one had the Shrimp vermichalli prawn salad. And added extra prawns (which was not needed - huge meal). Other had the Poke bowl, and added extra Poke. (Witch was not needed - a huge meal). Nice venue. Excellent servers. Great place to be outside for dinner. Would recommend.
Great food and atmosphere. Our waitress Isabella was very personable and attentive.
Great food, Wonderful service, and overlooking the inner harbor. I truly enjoyed my meal here. I will definitely be back!
Good service nice atmosphere. The food and drinks were good better then other places we tried
Food was delicious. Price was a little higher than we expected. The menus shown on the images from a year ago are about $5 less than they are at current.
Love this place!! Such a beautiful patio, if you get the chance to sit in Solange s section, she is my favorite server!!
Needed something to eat late at night after a whale watching trip. This was one of the few options close to where we were staying. Staff was very pleasant, service was attentive without being overbearing. Food took a bit of time but was tasty and hot. Only downside was noise. Large group of bros behaving badly made it difficult to have a conversation. Still, I would come back.
Food was good, drinks were tasty, but prices have gone up about 15-20% in the last few monthes, so for their costs everything should be great Parking: Limited paid street parking, or use the hotel lot behind the building- if there is space
Not very happy with having to pay an 18% surcharge for 6+ people
Awesome.
After a lot of procrastinating, I have finally decided to share my experience at this restaurant. A big group of us went out for my neices graduation dinner. My daughter worked at the establishment at the time. Fast forward to the end of the evening, and a family friend offered to pay for the bill. Well, I guess there was a little issue as the server that evening was a little perturbed about not getting a tip or not a big enough tip for her liking. She made it well known before we left, by gossiping amongst the staff and it got back to my daughter. Hence, why I am here writing about the bad behavior of a server! Wait, it gets better. I waited a few days and called the owner, Rob. We had a nice discussion about the incident. Rob offered me a $50 gift certificate. What a lovely gesture. Well, I was traveling a lot at the time and was unable to get back till about four months later. I called Rob back to let him know I would be coming in to pick up my gift certificate. To my surprize, Rob informed me that it had been picked up. We had a disagreement as I told him Ive been out of town for 4 months, so I dont know who you think picked up my gift certificate?? This man boldly lied on the phone to me. I never got my $50 gift certificate!! I have never been back to this establishment since this happened, and I have never recommended it to anyone!! I feel it is my duty as a guide to be honest about my experiences anywhere I go!
Wow!! 2 little pieces of fish & a half bowl of soup for over $40!! Pretty pricey!! Food
Road my bike from kelowna found a bed at the days inn and excellent food with out standing service at Bellevilles watering hole I only wish we had service like this back home thanks for the good food and friendly atmosphere. Update May 27th they changed how they do chicken and waffles please bring back the original chicken and waffles the original are much tastier! Every thing else we had was awsome good service great atmosphere
Good place to get a bite and relax. Prices are a bit higher than expected, but given the quality of my meal (fish tacos), and location, they re not out of line. Lots of variety on the menu which is nice for groups. Recommended.
9am happy hours with the blood orange margaritas. 10/10 recommend.
Fantastic place to stay. Friendly front desk, on the river with a view, swinging pool, hot tub, tennis court / pickleball with restaurant and bar. Rooms were extremely clean and fresh. Would stay anytime again the future. Also plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
Awesome waitress great location.
Dined here on June 12, 2024 as it was close to the Oswego Hotel I was staying at. I ordered their burger with the house salad on the side. Salad was served without dressing, which I thought was simply how it was. By the time my server came, I had eaten half of the dry salad and asked if it was supposed to be like that. Server said it should have come with a dressing. I hinted that I had eaten half of the salad already dry to no fault of my own, and the response I received from the server was well, at least you have half of the salad bowl to eat as it should be. Total let down. The least they could have done was offer me another salad bowl, which wasnt that big to begin with. But I guess saving money on some veggies is more important to them than customer coming back. I phoned the restaurant and spoke with the manager on duty, Rebecca. Again, instead of offering something by way of apologizing, all she did was take my info and said she would speak to her director about this. As a fellow manager myself, if I were in this situation, I would have done things differently. But I guess, in the end, the cost of a mere small salad was more valuable than the customers themselves. Would not recommend. Rebecca - you have my info. I want you to know that I will not accept whatever you may end up offering (other than the mere apology) to me should your restaurant come to its senses. I think we have passed that point already. The least you and your staff could do, I am hoping, is more training on how to read the room/situation, and quite possibly some bias/racial training as well. Wheelchair accessibility: not sure if there was a ramp to the deck
This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast ! The eggs Benedict are awesome and so may different delicious variations!. The patio is heated and the waitresses are really attentive and friendly
My go to while in Victoria. Never disappointed.
Pleasant!
Used to be good. Now its lame food and lame drinks and no service.
A funky watering hole in downtown Victoria, be prepared to be taken back to the 70s with the wild decor. Affordable prices on a well rounded pub menu. This ain t take your grandma for Sunday brunch, it s more take the boys to the diner for an afternoon brew. Friendly and efficient service. Their servings are rather generous so take that into consideration when ordering. I was overwhelmed by my tots and side salad, but hey you can t complain about quantity and quality! Ps I heard they don t have toast, so if that s what you re looking for, look elsewhere.
Great place recommend it Getting exspensive in my opinion though. Food
Delish
Came with a friend for lunch on Sunday. Eventually decided for Avo Toast with poached egg. Dissapointed because when you name a meal an avo toast normally I would expect avocado being the main ingredient and this was like when you put a butter on a toast(you can t even see it) Cheese-just a little crumbles not even possible to taste. Most of the plate were hash browns. Would prefer to be less and more of the actual avocado toast with egg. Service nice of course.
Food was delicious. The white Sangria very very tasty
Good food but very expensive! $27 for chicken strips and fries and $42 for nachos, beef, and guacamole.
I was here with a group for breakfast. Everyone enjoyed their choices. The service was excellent.
We visited here twice. The first time was for one of the Vancouver-Edmonton hockey finals. We enjoyed a few drinks, a burger, and a vermicelli dish. The food was quite good and made us pick this place again for a breakfast. I recommend the Homer Simpson (burp) for a hearty kick-start to your day.
I had the Thai prawn vermicelli bowl amd it was fresh and delicious! Long Island iced tea was also fabulous! Our server was fun and bubbly. Really enjoyed our time there. The decor is a bit dated and could be a bit cleaner, but was still a great time.
Huuuuge brunch portions!
$28 for a burger and salad seems expensive but they use high quality ingredients and you notice the difference.
It has a lot of classic musical artists in the decor and was fun to guess whose table we were at! Great friendly staff and a fresh and tasty calamari!
This place seemed very expensive AND it was on the pricey side. BUT it was worth every penny. Sister ordered a chicken club, it was over 20 dollars but there was easily 6 pieces of thick cut bacon on it, and so much real chicken it was unbelievable. Not to mention the pile of fries, that were also very good. You get better than what you pay for. Definitely recommend.
Had their pork tenderloin tonight. Simple but so packed full of flavors. Ill definitely go back. Beautiful views too.
AMAZING!!!! Food was so good. Came out so hot we had to wait a few minutes to eat it. Tried the sesame chicken and would recommended it as a started to every meal. Also the drinks are generous and extremely well made. Service was impeccable. We have found out new favorite Hangout.!!!!
Our server was very kind & efficient but otherwise will not return. My husband & I, my family & visitors have eaten there many times in the past, nice view of the harbour & it used to have pleasant enough booths, food used to be quite good. What happened! Tacky, dingy decor, unbelievably over- priced menu, even for our tourist town, and the food was very poor quality, very greasy, over- cooked. The table next to us left when they saw the prices, & that was our initial reaction too.We should have as both meals dismal. How sad.
My partner and I visited Bellevilles this evening for food and drinks after not visiting for a few years. Its hard to ignore how run down the place has become, its clear they are over due for an update. The outdoor tables just look dirty and falling apart, the paint inside is chipping and the upholstery is in bad shape. This is ok for a dive bar but not a Restaraunt located in the inner harbour tourist district of Victoria. The hostess was quite rude and unfriendly, fairly haggard and it was very apparent she had a late night last night. ( and maybe the night before too ) We ordered the Mac and Cheese bite appetizer, a Taco salad and the BLT chicken burger. The food was quite tasty overall however, it was odd that the cook put steaming hot chicken on the salad instead of letting the meat cool. So, the salad was instantly soggy. The chicken burger was very good with amazing smoked bacon and the best fries Ive had in a long time. Mac and cheese bites were tasty. The banana shaft was the worst shaft either of us have ever had, the coffee was stale and bitter, the banana flavor was just off and the drink wasnt as creamy as it should be. It was hard to get down. The cost of food here is outrageous now and completely out of wack! How is a small plate of Mac and cheese bites worth $18? A simple clubhouse sandwich or chicken burger is $28. For what we paid, we could have gone to a fine dining restaurant. Our server Haley was friendly and efficient and never kept us waiting so we tipped well.
Portions are big. Staff and service was great.
Good food but for the price I can make it better its basic pub food but at a higher cost starters are 20$ + staff is fantastic but food not near the price.
Its great spot that I enjoy coming back to for food and drinks. Great menu selection overall
We keep coming back for their calamari and salmon Waterfront burger. One of our favorite places to eat in Victoria
This used to be our staple place to go. That being said the prices were a bit of a shock. I understand its a sign of the times not a reflection of out of touch owners. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive.
I think this place is overpriced ( well It s in core downtown) so I shouldn t be surprised, but at least you will expect your food to be delicious but it was so so. The atmosphere is not that great too for families but I think good for people in the pub section Food
Great place. An establishment that has been there for many years. The poutine was so good. I personally got the gravy on the side, and the fries them selves were not run of the mill fries. They were about 1 cm thick with a crunch to them that was simply amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who likes pub food to give it a try. The atmosphere is dated . Orange is their theme, it seems, but in a good old-fashioned way. Feels very old school. TVs in most places if youre into watching TV instead of paying attention to your friends. Or... sports. The outdoor patio in the summer is a great place to be. Theres a lot more to talk about, but you should experience it in your own way.
My husband calls this the Orange Bar. Due to the color of the tables etc. Its nice to go for drinks and dinner.Friendly staff. Food tasty. We split a parmesan chicken and pasta dinner. We split the flourless chocolate cake with raspberries and fresh cream and scoop of icecream for 10 bucks. It was delicious.
Some of Victorias best eggs Benedict and hundy Victorias best tater tots. Also, breakfast happy hour specials if youre so inclined. Nice large patio overlooking the bay too.
Finally decided to come check out Bellevilles for brunch and my god it was delicious. We tried all of the specials they had on and were not disappointed whatsoever. The food was top notch, the services was friendly, and the atmosphere was delightful. I will definitely be back!!
Our favorite pre/post ferry stop.
Upset that in 2023, post covid that this restaurant is charging a 9% BCH fee (British Columbia Health) that was supposed to help waiters/waitresses during the covid restrictions that were affecting business income. This normally wouldnt be a problem, but there is no indication or upfront notification of this fee and it is found out post meal when paying. They are blindsided customers with a hidden fee and you are left helpess as youve already eaten the meal. This is incredibly unethical and on top of that, are charging taxes ON this BCH fee that is tacked on without customer knowledge ahead of time. We will be sure to never return here.
Do not order the Get Shorty french dip. Waitress recommended it and it was the worse I have had. The au jus is straight salt and completely unusable. The sandwich was very greasy and very basic. Waitress was very attentive, shame the meal was bad.
My husband and went for lunch today. The food was good but when we got our bill we were taken off guard with BCH fee which was four dollars and twenty cents. It was for the health care for the staff. This is not right to charge this on the bill. We are not responsible for this. The waitress said it was for the high cost of inflation. She was not right. Kid-friendliness: It is a friendly place to take kids
The food was great and it is awesome having a full service bar and restaurant in your hotel only a few steps from the elevator. The food presentation was perfect and the portions were large. I ate both breakfast and dinner here and was not disappointed. Where else can you get both chicken and waffles & red snapper fish and chips under the same roof?
patio is great for people watching and lots of room so no lineup even for happy hour. food was tasty and ok pricing for appies. and came out quickly.
Very sneaky BCH fee added to the bill! 9% for what I believe is a health care increase that restaurants need to take on. I don t see any other restaurants doing this and it was not clearly mentioned on the menu. Unfortunate, because otherwise it is a nice spot.
My secret brunch bestie! Great food option, tasty too! Wonderful servers, very friendly and knowledgeable about menu options. Fun all year round.
The restaurant was close to our hotel, and we stopped in while waiting for our room to be ready. Our server was fantastic, and the food was good. The room has a 70s decor and vibe, which wasnt that interesting to us, but overall, good stop for a drink and snack.
Nice vibe diner! Quick service!
Very average mojito
Food was pretty good, service by the waitress was great. Im just annoyed with the BCH fee added to my bill. No warning before sitting down. Supposedly to cover costs due to covid? Come on now. I gave the waitress less of a tip to compensate, hopefully management gets real and gets rid of it....
With all due respect, during our recent trip to Victoria, we had planned to visit the Belleville watering hole. However, we ultimately decided against it after coming across reviews indicating that the manager charges an additional percentage on top of the bill for the BC Health care tax. As someone who works for a professional office, I couldnt help but be dissuaded by this practice. At my workplace, we hold the belief that its not appropriate to pass on the cost of employee benefits, such as sick pay, to our clients for any reason.
Awesome place and food is great. Portions are huge.
Went there for breakfast yesterday, best breakfast we ever had. The place has a retro & funky vibe, the service, was prompted & friendly. Everything was hot and fresh, the Scrambled Eggs were nice and fluffy , ham was really tender, Potatoes wedges were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. Definitely will be going back today ,for breakfast again, before we leave Victoria.
Fun place with lots of locals (not something that is all that common in Victoria). Owner has a huge and fun music play list that is part of the appeal.
Just didnt enjoy myself. My waiter kept taking my drinks without asking and for $14 drinks, Id hope to finish it(no one else at my table had this), serving sizes for certain items is quite shocking for the price (small and the I mean tiny portions for items that cost $20-$30) but not all items are like this. Just got very disappointed by my first visit at Belvilles and dont think Ill be back. I got a rather upset stomach afterwards, which led me to believing something I ate was bad or not good anymore. Just be cautious if you go to the watering hole & be prepared to spend a lot for very little and barely finished bevvies
I decided on eggs benedict. Delicious.
Came here for a few drinks with a friend. Great cocktails, We sat at the bar and had excellent service.
Horrible food dry chicken woukd not recommend
Huge menu! So whatever youre craving theyll probably have it! Great patio to sit and enjoy the sunshine and watch the world go by.
Great watering hole! Good music, good scene, good food.
The food is good just Beware of the extra 9% they add to your bill for a BCS fee. I live in Victoria and it is the only restraunt i know doing this. Their POS machine starts at 18% tip aswell as the 9% they already charged you. Plus a burger is $24 . My bill was $27 after tax and 9% BCS FEE and 18% tip was over $40. I didnt notice the extra charge untill i paid .. there are no signs , nothing post on menus . Just collecting extra 9% no other place in Victoria is doing this . Last time i go there
Kaitly (our host) was fabulous Food tase was good and big portion. Ni e view, they have heaters in case getting cold at night Food : 5/5
Scam fees
Lovely server, good location and tasty food.
Meh food and unexpected fees added to receipt.
Best place ever! Great food and great service!
Love Bellevilles go every time we are in Victoria
It was a very unpleasant experience. An 18.5 % group tax was applied to our bill. We were a table of six and had eaten our meal when others we had met on a tour but were not in our group arrived. They sat at different tables. Service fee of $15.68, tax $9.05 BCH fee $7.84. $32.57 Extra on top of the meal and drinks. This is disappointing. The meal was only average, and I would not be recommending this place to eat.
Just needed a bit of food nearby after a long day. Tasty food, good service and view, reasonable prices. A good stop.
All in all a great place. Love how its downtown. Near the water.
Made up B.C.H. Fee (now 9%) is not disclosed to the customer until you receive your bill.
Fun spot to connect on the patio
Disgusted by the hidden BCH fee not disclosed. Asking the lady at the front she said. This is the fee that our manager Rob adds to cover tax . With the legitimate taxes, the extra hidden BCH fee as well as the suggested minimum tip of 18%. You are looking at around 40% extra from your subtotal Absolute joke, i consider myself Robbed . Obvs won t be returning.
Lot of beer options.
Food was amazing , huge portions for breakfast and very tasty . Had to wait and track down server for more coffee . And table was very sticky , weird plastic cover .
Taste was a little lacking, and the price is high now for what you get. There are better options in the city for appy hour. It is unfortunate Bellevilles was our go-to place for many years.
Great food and service with a view of the Victoria Harbour. Massive portions and great drinks!
Yall sleeping on this place. Food and service was amazing.
Patio seating, covered or not, across for the Victoria ferry dock but still beautiful views of area. Great service. Large menu...we had appetizers. Would stop there again.
Good drinks, bad food and service was polite.
Great food, great location, great service. Only drawback is its a bit expensive and then they add an additional 10% cleaning fee to the bill and then still expect you to tip. Food : 4/5
Teriyaki Salmpn bowl was delicious
This restaurant was the last place stopped in Victoria. (It s right next to the ferry) The food was very average the service was not great because they didn t come to check until they brought the bill. There was a B.C.H. Fee which was the extra 9% tip for server. There was no explanation what that meant on the menu and we basically gave them 27% tip(18% + 9% B.C.H) I wanted to share this information to people who plans to visit. Their charge is called a BCH fee , which Belleville s owner Rob Chyzowski says is nine per cent of someone s bill. Chyzowski says he implemented it when MSP Health Benefits were charged to employers through the Employers Health Tax. He says he increased the amount when the pandemic began and increased it again more recently to encompass the now provincially mandated five sick days employers have to offer.
Beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the Inner Harbor Victoria
Great food and the location for people watching!
Breakfast was hearty and really good. We were seated promptly on the patio, but service the rest of the time was not great. Didnt get one of our ordered items, and after close to 10 minutes waiting chased down someone we could pay.
Hidden 10% illegal profit tax on bill that is not mentioned anywhere until the invoice is presented after you pay. Nice staff, nice patio, portion sizes are generous. Prices are higher than average, didn t find the food to be particularly flavourful.
Absolutely wonderful!
Good beer and atmosphere
Limited breakfast selection, kind fancy and expensive.
Great spot for food & drinks. Great bartender & great service Excellent food. The Samosas were sooo good.. Also the Blood Orange Margarita is delicious! We had a super nice & friendly server. Would definitely recommend this spot for great food, drinks & atmosphere. We will definitely be back for chicken & waffles & morning Happ Hour.
Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere.
Very stuffy atmosphere indoor ,smells like old houses . Unreasonably expensive. Never will go there again . Food : 1/5
Great food and great service!
Excellent attention and many great details that will make it unforgettable.
I guess I would characterize my low rating in 3 ways- 1: very dirty tables, to the point that I could not even touch it while I sat there 2: very dirty bathroom and the door to the bathroom was so sticky it grossed me out 3: they ruined the halibut they served me with my gobbed up mess-of-a-Caesar-salad ( even the bread was soggy ). My food was so bad I didnt even touch it after the first couple of bites, and the server didnt even care enough to ask why I didnt eat the food. It was VERY overpriced for the quality! There were 3 things I liked - 1: I was able to bring my dog into the patio area 2: the poutine appetizer was good. 3: the hostess staff very friendly. To be fair, the two men I was with said their food was okay.
They are automatically adding 9 % to your bill . No other place in Victoria does this. The they expect a min of 18% tip on top. Would not recomend they do not post or warn u. About fees . Carefull with your bill . Check it . Im not wrong
Parking: Great for people on foot Recommended dishes
The patio is very nice, good views and comfortable. The servers were also attentive and helpful. I didnt care for the food I got, my salad looked well dressed but the dressing was bland and tasteless. The toppings were also not very plentiful for the price we paid. Overall it was a convenient place to stop but way too overpriced for the quality of food.
I would love to get my fav specialty shafts at Bellevilles, however I will no longer be interested in giving this business anymore of my money after seeing they still have the BHC tax and highly inflated menu items. 9%?!? And essentially nothing on the menu under $20. We ordered a flat bread that was $20 and came with 6 tiny slices. Id say the menu prices are inflated, but when I asked my server about it she claimed the tax was to keep the menu prices from inflating. I know its not her personal business, but the company needs to know that this is losing them customers. When my friends come to town I will often take them for shafts at Bellevilles, but those days are over. I can mix my own and save the extra fee. Servers are going to lose out on tips, 9% is half of what I budgeted for my servers tip. Sad to lose a spot I actually enjoyed going to, but this is borderline theft.
The owner automatically adds a 9% BCH tax on top of your bill, without any notification. Originally, this was a 1% tax to cover covid related expenses. When we asked about it this time, the server said that it was to cover inflation, instead of increasing menu prices. With an average meal price of $24 for average food, this additional tax just feels very greedy. No other place adds this tax and you can find better quality food for the price point.
Had breakfast here. Do not recommend. Over priced and food quality not worth it. Ordered salmon Benedict. Salmon tasted expired. Also ordered the Homer. Taters were burnt. Bacon burnt. Service was slow. Food cold.
We waited quite a while to be seated although the patio was half full -- which should have been our first clue. Once seated it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks, even though wed explained that we only had 45 minutes or so because we were catching the Black Ball ferry. Our server had assured us that we had plenty of time for drinks and a meal. We ordered as soon as we could but ended up having to take our meals to go which is not what wed planned. The whole experience was very disappointing. It wasnt at all busy so there really was no reason that we should have waited 45 minutes for our food which turned out to be very mediocre.
I stopped by on an extremely hot day for lunch with a friend. The patio was great to sit on and has a great view of the inner harbor. You are able to see the sea plane come in and out. The food was also great, I had the falafel sliders, and they were great. Good atmosphere and the wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. Thank you. Vegetarian options: Falafel sliders were great
Hidden, BCH FEE... they charge and extra 10% on your bill only seen after paying.
Has potential to be a super fun place but drops the ball.
Your bill will come with a hidden, very large, B.C.H fee.
Stopped by for a quick bite and beer. We got a seat on the patio, which features some nice views of Victoria. Fish taco was huge and filling. Service and food were good, although I found it a little pricey but we had a good time and that was goal of the evening.
Large portions, good value and friendly staff.
Nice informal atmosphere to eat. Friendly and quite fast service. Food was good and tasted great with reasonable prices. Also great breakfast.
The breakfast until 2pm menu is really great, and the team were very kind.
Dropped by for a beer and it was cool. But, so was the patio. Nice view and good service.
Its your basic bar food & drinks. My husband found a long hair in his slider. My samosas were soggy but tasty. Service was good.
Food was overpriced. They also hide a 9% extra charge on the bill. Very bizarre.
Ordered the naked waffles and they were not good. Like the cook used saw dust as batter. The service was good and the waitress was very helpful. Just a tip, do not order the waffles.
Great lunch. Chicken and waffle was incredible. All the other meals were great too.
the 9% BCH added to the bill is insanity. especially given the inflated menu prices for low quality food and terrible service.
This restaurant is charging a hidden 9% BCH fee (British Columbia Health) that was supposed to help waiters/waitresses during the covid restrictions that were affecting business income. Post covid! food and management/owners are also awful. SNEAKY
Popped in one night to tie on one more before settling in to our hotel, nice spot, friendly bartender.
Great place to meet up with friends. small and large tables. View over the harbour and outside patio on warm days. Staff are friendly and attentive. TVs for sports, music is good too and not too loud so you can actually hear people. Had drinks and appies to share. spent a couple hours. Enjoyable. Would return.
Cant say enough positive about Belleviiles! The updated menu is varied, well-priced and delicious; servers and bar/kitchen staff give 110%. Drinks are fun varied, tasty and easy on the wallet! One of Victorias better bars!
This is one of our regular stopping places during the summer months. They have a good patio facing the water where one can watch vehicles struggle to get on or off the Coho and gaze across the inner harbor. Service coverage is good. They have possible the best Chimichangas in town and they usually have at least one beer offering from Russell Brewing, occasionally our much prized Lemon Raz Radler. I recently discovered there Beet Salad, which is excellent. They also offer basked of tater Tots instead of fries, a much preferred option as so few places can make decent fries anymore. Parking: Virtually non existent unless you happen to be staying at the hotel than Bellevilles is attached too, although there is potential street parking within a two block radius. Parking is a Victoria downtown issue with the propagation of bike lanes and the resulting road works mess.
We went out on a Sunday. It was a bit quiet. The food was ok, it needed a bit of flavour! Very pricey but good proportions. Really liked the decor and the waterfront view!!
This is a drinking venue with over-priced food options aimed at the tourist trade because theres nothing else nearby. Ordered the 1pc Halibut & chips. Small piece of fish, tons of pre-seasoned fries, inedible coleslaw, and the most disgusting dill-laden tartar sauce (also inedible!)...with a diet Coke...$35 before service tip. Service was pleasant. Go here for patio drinks...not the food.
Told us the tables by the windows were reserved for bigger groups (more than 2) but all the parties seated after us were couples and seated by the window.
Stopped in for something to eat prior to catching the blackball ferry... A quick glance at the menu yielded just about everything at about $25! Or more. Cmon Bellevilles Watering Hole, a club sandwich at $25!? That should be $17 tops! My girlfriend and I agreed that everything seemed on the expensive side and settled on just getting a single order of chicken wings and a couple of drinks. We figured a $23 order of chicken wings would be a hearty amount of chicken. The chicken wings arrived and, I kid you not, I have never seen such small chicken wings in my life! They looked like they came off a pigeon not a chicken! I am not even exaggerating here...this order left us both completely unsatisfied... at $23 an order we both walked away feeling quite robbed here. I am really really getting tired of restaurants charging more and more for less and less!
Five stars
We always enjoy eatting here before catching the Coho Ferry to Port Angeles. Food is really good.
I received my bill and noticed a B.C.H. Fee. When asking the server what this was, they indicated it was for MSP and 5 sick days the provincial gov t gave employees. This is not acceptable!!! How can a business get away with this? I will not recommend or be going back.
Awful over priced food! Nice waitress!
Very good meal loved it just abit high priced but very good meal
