Absolutely terrible. Was given rotten food that was completely inedible. Do not eat here you will get food poisoning.

Burger would have been great if they said the order was incorrect and remade it. Dietary restrictions: I ordered a vegan burger & another ordered a gluten free burger. The GF order was incorrect so they remade it. Mine was labeled GF and I was told it was the vegan order even though it wasn t labeled vegan. I checked the patty and it looked correct. However, halfway through eating I became suspicious after what appeared to be dairy butter and egg mayo. This was later confirmed by a skin reaction the next day which takes a month to heal. Mistakes like these need to be taken more seriously.

The food is not only fresh its mind blowing delicious!!! Not only a must if you visit Victoria, BC. If your a local you know what Im talking about... all their meats are from local farmers..Id give you 10 stars if I could. Vegetarian options: The only tried one. Ive had is the black bean burger they have more but Im a meatatarian ..lol

I visited the Vic West location and ordered the crispy chicken burger w/fries, no drink, $26 with tip .The chicken was dry and had definitely been pre-cooked, sitting somewhere warming. The batter was thin, pale and had no texture to it at all, it resembled a sad chicken strip from A&W. The bun was also dry, with the smallest smear of sauce on the top bun. Tomato was mealy. The fries were fresh and seasoned well. If you want a better burger for a lot less, I d suggest going to Burger Crush.

Love this location! BWB has great vegan and vegetarian options, is one of the only places that has Dr. Pepper, and you cant beat Aidans sweet Spotify playlist! Vegetarian options: The poutine has mushroom gravy, and they offer vegan patty options.

I love that the beef is local grass-fed and grass finished beef, that all of the items are compostable, and that an amount from their monthly feature goes to a charity organization. The quality of their food matches the quality of the staff; both will make you want to keep coming back. I literally drive 45 minutes each way to get supper here sometimes and make sure to visit each time I come into the city. They have brought me through both pregnancies, feeding me when I couldnt cook anymore. Its also my 6 years old favorite place! Thanks for all the great service and food over the years!!

Decided to grab it again today, in Vic West, it was so killer, definitely going back, excellent burger and the fries were really good too. Shouldnt have slept on this location so long. A huge fan of the fries. But cannot recommend the ice cream sandwich. It is soft serve between two rock hard cookies. How are you supposed yo eat that? The ice cream squishes out the sides! Even with a soft cookie you dont use soft serve!!!

Decent chicken burger. Although im confused why the Langford crispy chicken burger looks and tastes differently then the Vicwest crispy chicken. Like legit the difference is so big, its like eating a completely different meal.

I m a fan of this chain, so today I decided to try out a new location. I was so disappointed with the service and the food. The double cheese burger was not bad, but the chicken burger was like leather and I could not chew it. I think they might have over crisped it. I also got two cookies that I will have with my friends later, so fingers crossed. The service was meh definitely favouritism going on. I tipped 20% and my food was called out. Another lady her food was delivered to her table with a thank you. In any case will not be going back there again so many other awesome joints in town in spend my hard earned money at.

Wicked burgers, especially the spicy Hawaiian special. Great for kids too (coloring sheets, high chairs, etc). The problem is that the Vic West location clearly prioritizes take out/delivery meals. We waited 40 minutes at the restaurant for our 3 burgers and 2 fries.

Would have given 4 stars as food is decent. But they charge $1 to put a few shreds of lettuce on a kids burger - sorry but that s pretty crazy. Food industry usually goes out of their way to take it easy on kids menu items, so to see a restaurant upcharge 1000% on what a few shreds of lettuce actually cost is not a decent thing to do. That s all.

I was stoked to come here because I have heard they have great milkshakes. I paid 19$ for fries and a milkshake and waited forever for my food and when I finally got it , it was the wrong order. They again, took a long time to get my order after messing it up the first time.

We had the Pig Wheel burger special and a cheeseburger with bacon. Both were delicious. Good old fashioned well made burgers with good ingredients. Also had fries(perfectly cooked, crunchy outside and fluffy inside) and a strawberry shake(delicious). Biggest drawback is the price. This little meal ran $47. Quite the sticker shock.

The Crispy Chicken burger is amazing and the service was great, super friendly staff that were helpful an created a really nice atmosphere.

Had the original burger. Meat was great everything was fresh but there was a ton of lettuce which tasted unwashed. It also made the burger cold even though I ate it immediately after receiving it.

Easily my fave burger joint in Vic. Everything is fresh, sauces are delicious and I love their variety of fries. Absolutely love the flavour of the burger pattys. I would also like to add that I really appreciate how big wheel uses quality ingredients. I see reviews saying they are overpriced however I will happily pay more money if it means better quality ingredients. Keep up the good work guys!

New Years Eve takeout dinner was great. They have rotating seasonal specials that I ordered, like a burger with added turkey sausage and cranberry sauce, which was very tasty. The blue cheese poutine was a bit of a mess, as its best eaten immediately. The Candy Cane milkshake was decadent. Wishing the kids menu options included a hot dog option. I recommend this place all the time. Very safe bet.

The rotating specials are great. They have a great environmental program. They support local business. All the items taste great, except they could amp up their fry game. Only four stars because its really expensive as its a la carte and a whole meal can easily set you past $15

Big Wheel Burger (AKA Big Blue Burger) is one of the best burgers in the city. The company has sound environmental credentials and there are myriad options for vegetarian citizens. One complaint: bring back the deep fried pickles!

Your front counter girl was on a ridiculous power trip and made me wait outside because I lowered my mask to take a sip of my drink while waiting for my food. It was so ridiculous and cringy I got a refund and left.

25 bucks for a burger fries and shake is a lil crazy. Fries were not fresh but still tasted ok. For 25 Id expect higher quality all around. However staff was nice and its good to see they are raising money for a good cause.

This place started out great. They have several locations around town but I normally go to the Uptown and Cook Street locations. I have slowly seen the decline of customer service at these two spots. The Cook St. location is probably the worst. 6 different times they forgot my fries. Yes, 6. Once they forgot cheese on my cheeseburgers and when I told them, they literally handed me two cold pieces of fake american cheese. Another time they was a massive hair cooked into my burger patty. And then at the Uptown location I placed my order on the phone which I was told would take 10-15 mins. I pulled up ten minutes later and paid. The gal up front said she would check my order. 20+ mins passed by and I saw people that came after me keep getting their orders. I finally went up to the cooks and asked for my order by my name. They looked around clueless until one of them walked out to the front fridge and pulled my order out. It had been sitting there the entire time. I will say that the Uptown one is usually pretty good but after all the fails I just wont order from Big Wheel again. On top of it, they add an automatic gratuity which I dont feel is justified. If you want it, then earn it.

Amazing burgers, fries and shakes! The poutine with veggie gravy is really good as well. We eat here as a weekend treat fairly regularly and it s consistently good every time.

Big Wheel burger in Vic West. I really like Big Wheel the burgers here are unique. Theyre kind of crispy not sure how they do that but it works lol. The bun is excellent Brioche style tastes fresh. The toppings are good. The fries also very good.and not greasy. Very friendly staff I appreciate that. My only complaint is this place is too expensive. My double cheese burger and fries was $23 w/ tax ouch. It is one of the best burger joints tho. I always go here when visiting the Island.

Pretty disappointed with this location. The quality is never consistent. Sometimes you get a good burger and fries, other times you get a flat, overcooked cold patty and overly salty fries. Not to mention the hair found in one of our burgers (they did remedy this with a gift card at the store but honestly Im not sure if I want to go back) Just really sad that our once go to burger place is no longer reliable.

I ordered the fries (delicious) and the Nashville chick pea burger. It would have tasted nice, but unfortunately was overpowered by the processed cheese slice. I saw that cheese was an extra $2 so assumed it would have been real cheese. I guess I should have read the menu more closely. I appreciate the quality of the food (besides the American cheese) but $20 for a burger and fries is out of my budget to visit again anytime soon.

NOT delicious. Dont waste your money on this food. The chicken burger was comparable to frozen, no name, chicken strips but not as thick, in a stale bun. The burgers had way over cooked bacon with very wilted lettuce. Sauce was like coloured water and with as much flavour. The bun for the burger wasnt even fresh. Such a disappointment. Fries? Boring and tasteless.

Great burger, COVID restricts the enjoyment

Obviously things are challenging these days, but the 12% auto-gratuity that you find out about AFTER you pay is ridiculous. Supplies such as sanitizer cost money, sure. The business isnt exactly hurting, thanks to call-in orders and delivery options like Skip and Door dash. I waited around 30 minutes for a single burger. I could have had a pizza delivered to my house in the same amount of time for the same price.

13 dollars for a double cheese burger and with a child size fries almost 20! They feel the need to add 12% automatic gratuity due to Covid! Definitely wasnt great. Wouldnt go there again.

So, because I love burgers my wife decided to grab us burgers and poutine for my birthday as a fun treat. She used the online app to order and drove to get the food as soon as she received the notice. It is 5 minutes from our house. As instructed, she texted her name so that someone would bring the food out, since they arent letting people inside. And waited. And waited. After about 20 minutes she finally was able to get someones attention. They just hadnt bothered checking the text or following up, apparently. So by the time the food got home it was barely warm, the burger was an inedible, soggy mess, and the poutine was completely congealed. Needless to say, I do not recommend. I would give 0 stars since we couldnt actually eat the disgusting mess that made it home, but 1 is the lowest option. Thanks for your absolute indifference to your customers!

Lovely that you use Weve been doing this for a year and a half to infer a first time customer should know and accept your shady practices. as if that timeline matters though. You know, if you feel auto-gratuity is necessary, you could just pay your serve staff a living wage, right? Or Increase the cost of food by 15% and give them a portion of sales, Or have staff ask How much would you like to tip? or state Theres a 12% auto-gratuity. when they ring up the bill. Though, none of those options give customers the disingenuous impression* that the food is cheaper then it is. Odd, how you chose the one method that does...* *Feel free to disregard the implication of disingenuous impressions if for some reason you, while hungry, read menus in the same way an android reads data. We are sorry you did not read the signage. We removed the auto-gratuity as we do in person dining. Because service industry staff are under payed and work one of the hardest jobs, I normally tip 25-30% However, adding an undisclosed amount, without asking or informing the customer is at best dishonest and at worst fraud and theft. There is no reason to add a flat % to every bill without informing customers, except to defraud them. If that extra amount is needed you can just add it to the itemized price. But they decided itd be better to trick customers into thinking there food was cheaper. The only reason I found out is because I was surprised there was no tip option when I went to pay and asked if I could. I wouldnt have known otherwise. The irony being I otherwise absolutely would have tipped more. Absolutely Disingenuous.

Had a Vegi burger from here on July 6, 2021 along with Cheeseburgers and a lettuce burger. Everything was tasty and that is why the five stars. We would note that the lettuce burger could have had better presentation with the burger actually being wrapped in lettuce rather than presented in a tray type container. Top marks for flavour but a fail on presentations And ease of eating. Fresh buns, excellent fries and great shakes. The online ordering is very slick and works well.

*See my edit below* I debated whether to even leave this review, but I honestly dont really feel good about eating here anymore so maybe this would be useful for the managers to hear (if they even read these things). Let me just first say that Ive been a customer since Big Wheel moved into the plaza years ago, and in all the time Ive ordered food here, Ive never had a single problem until this year. Back in March they forgot an entire burger on one of my orders. Since I live close by, I offered to swing back around and pick up the missing item. The employee was friendly, but didnt offer any sort of compensation beyond making the missing item. He didnt do anything to show me he appreciated me spending my time and gas money to fix his mistake. I let that one slide because these guys had such a good track record before that. But...now its got to be 3 or 4 times that theyve forgotten my gravy also. Again, no compensation; just a refund on the dollar-fifty I paid for the gravy. What do you think Im going to do with this gravy, just drink it straight? Refunding me the gravy doesnt remedy the fact that my whole meal was diminished by the mistake. The most recent time it happened I even texted back that I thought it was a pretty weak response and they just ghosted me. Cool cool cool. Good to know my years of patronage are appreciated. When you screw up (and it happens, thats life), you should do something to make up for the mistake. Acting like you dont owe me anything after you waste my time is a great way to ensure I dont want to return. It kind of pains me to say, but Ill be taking a break from Big Wheel and taking my business elsewhere for a while. Hopefully things havent gone further downhill in a few months. Edit: The general manager reached out with a gift card for the inconvenience, which was appreciated. It sounds like they did indeed have some issues with turnover during the height of the pandemic. It also sounds like management is making an effort to reform the training protocols to address the issues mentioned above. I was also promised that no one would get in trouble, which is great. Im going to leave my review as is for a bit, but if things go well the next few times I order, Ill add the missing stars back.

Sad to see the quality has gone so down hill. Had the chicken burger and fries. The fries were undercooked by a long shot. The chicken burger as I remember was super crispy with a nice kick of seasoning and almost too big to eat the whole thing. The burger I got tonight was soggy, the breading came off and the chicken tasted like low quality. We ate it because we paid for it and needed to eat dinner. But it didnt satisfy. I hope you guys can get back to how things were before. I understand the struggle to find staff right now with high turnover rates and it seems to be what is happening here.

I was simply blown away by big wheel burger. Not only do they care about the food quality, and sustainability but they care about the customer experience. They were extremely friendly the entire time I was in there. I ordered the vegan Nashville chicken burger. It was a beautiful sandwich, which reslly satisfied my desire for a plant burger. I also appreciated that it was cheaper, as plants should always be cheaper than animals. I was impressed by their dedication to sustainability as demonstrated through their compost. They dont have a garbage or recycling. All the packaging is compostable. That is the world I want to live in. As a vegan I tip my hat to big wheel burger, and hope others can follow their lead.

Burgers a bit overpriced, surprisingly comparable to bin 4 burger which additionally offers a relaxing ambience + dining area. Whereas Big Wheel is more of a fast food outlet without the relaxing ambience + dining area

The last time I ate a this big wheel my wife and I had low hopes of our meal. We decided to go again to friendly positive staff and a better meal. My Burger looked like a burger but my poutine could of used more gravy. Either than that it was good. Thank you

I ordered 2 burgers and 2 fries, one burger and fries were gluten free. Big Wheel put both sets of fries in the same bag without labeling them, so I had no way of differentiating the gluten free fries from the non-gluten free fries. When I called back 10 mins before they closed, they refused to answer. Very poor customer service.

Funny story I ordered online and thought I was ordering from the Westshore location so had a bit of a drive in to get it lol The food though exactly what Ive come to expect from Big Wheel these guys just know how to make a mean burger, the large thick cut bacon is always cooked perfectly and the overall flavour just stimulates the mouth in all the right ways. Love their Cajun yam fries wish it stayed a permanent part of the menu. You have to do yourself a favour if ordering Big Wheel and treat yourself to the ice cream sandwich made with the real chocolate chip cookies is amazing and great value like most of their portions are

Awesome place to eat! Was visiting a friend of mine and she said we had to go here, and it did not disappoint! The cookies and cream malt/milkshake I had was really good, had a thicker consistency and wasnt too sweet. The cookie bits were a great touch, would definitely recommend that one personally, though they all looked quite delicious. The burger and fries were filling and tasty, worth the price. They use fresh beef everyday and you can taste it! And the staff were super nice; they let me get a half order of fries, and even let me borrow a phone charger while I was eating inside. A smaller place with a diner sort of feel, the interior was simple and effective. Im definitely going to eat here again when I visit!

I ordered for delivery Friday night April 24th. It took 1 hour to get it, and I live 600 meters away. Unfortunately at Wilson street (closest to my house) they don t offer the take out service. They charge 5$ fuel charge and 15% tip is mandatory. I think it s unacceptable. I am a regular customer. I am very disappointed. It s the last I m ordering for delivery.

Ordered a chicken crunch burger. What a disappointment. The burger was overly coated in a thick hard batter that was over cooked. Crunch burgers should have a light crispy coating, not something that may cause a broken tooth. Tried to peel the hard crust off to attempt a save at an $11 burger (plus an additional 15% because they can fee) and the chicken was tasteless and clearly over cooked. Will not be returning.

I often get a burger here all suited to my keto needs and its always such a treat. I got the competition tonight just to switch it up and it couldnt compare at all in taste or price. That made me want to muster up a review because I appreciate you crew and the delicious food every single time.

Delicious burgers that taste very similar to what my grandmother would fry up on the griddle once a week. An ethically responsible business with Jason D at the helm is a winning combo. Keep up the big taste and big dreams Big wheel!!!

Good food, fast and friendly service. They are known for their hamburgers but they have an excellent Chicken Burger as well.

Great to have a true glutenfree restsurant. The wings were great and the fries are yummie. The gf burger bun is so dry.....they added lots of butter and sauce at our request but its still dry. Theres really not much they can do about it so.i think well try the lettuce wrap instead next time. The staff is great. Really helpful and positive. The wait time is good considering things are from scratch and theyre busy. Well be back.

I really enjoy the food at big wheel burger. All three restaurants are fantastic. My concern is the last time I went to this location a delivery driver was waiting for his food. He was obviously on the spectrum. I found the employees extremely rude to him and not understanding of his needs. When they did give him his delivery another employee spoke to him far kinder, but witnessing the initial employee berate him was disgusting. You can do better than that.

a mandatory 12% service charge for takeout restaurant.. thats just stealing from your customers.. and the owner dont care what we the customers think... dont support businesses that like this..

placed an order for two orders of fries, showed up 20 minutes later and order was not even started. cashier said they could make it right away, but thats why we place orders ahead of time right???? kind of a joke....

Always busy and focused on community, with a percent of your purchase going to charity and tasty treats and happy staff..its a winner

Told my order would be ready at 6pm and stood outside in the rain until 650pm.. the order was cold to and threw out the food. I am so discussed
