I honestly would give them no stars for service. Such poor service on a slow Sunday night. We waited 20 minutes to order while our server was wandering around.

Great foods and happy hour selections, friendly staffs!

All the staff are nice, always enjoy when you go to take delivery orders.( skip driver)

Great bartending service

To be honest, the service is pretty poor. The sever was really mean to us. This is really the first time I was served by someone who is so rude and disrespectful. One of our friends forgot to bring her id and she borrowed my drink to take photos and female sever suddenly showed up out of nowhere and starting to judge us doing that. Even we have explained to her what happened she still gave us those judgmental attitude. Even before this happened, when we tried to order the food, I can see her eyebrows raised up and put an attitude. It s the worst experience ever.

Went in for an afternoon drink. Bartenders, very friendly and attentive. Then the Manager gathered a few staff and started yelling at them about some issue. If I could hear it then everyone could. Berating staff in public is not good management. An issues should be handled in the staff room or office not on the floor.

The chicken burger is fantastic, it s my go-to order. Im not sure if Id go back to this location, though-Im sick of overhearing servers complain about tables that (in their opinion) didnt tip well or enough or she only tipped me $5 . Seriously, I overhear this almost every time I go in. And if I can hear this, so can others, and likely the ones that didnt tip enough . Yesterday I got my usual order to go this time. I asked them to make fresh fries so that they d be hot when we got them home. Unfortunately in both orders, the fries were mostly cold and hard with 2-3 warmer ones mixed in. I live two mins away and was there before the order was ready so there s no reason for this except that they gave us old fries and sprinkled a couple fresh ones on top :/. Gross.

Got it for pickup, they have the packaging down. Everything was delicious even to go.

I ordered the steak well done and this is the only place Ive havent actually had to send back. The best steak place now because my husband isnt embarrassed with me sending it back 3 or 4 times to get it well done this location is more friendly compared to the uptown location weve been to prior to this location. Service is great, hands down. I wouldnt expect less from a franchise. Food on the other hand is embarassing. Happy hour beef quesadilla for $11 is 4 round cut into 3rds with Beef bolognese (chef boyardee) spread inbetween. It was embarassing to look at, let alone pay for, and I dared to choke it down because I was starving. Ordered a side of fries for $8 and got 8 fries in a tin can and a pile of shrapnel from the bottom of the last orders stainless steel bowl, damn that mark-up. Seriously. What the hell is going on here with the food???? $19 dollars for what presented itself like a kids meal that could have been replaced with a snack-pack from 7-11 next door. Way to leave a grown man hungry. No way in hell Ill recommend this place to anyone. Beers were cold, and the service was good though. Thats the basic level of good though right?

I had Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta and it was so delicious, service was friendly and prompt.

Way too loud for lunch time crowd who may want to have a conversation without yelling over each other! It seems like the music is set at a level for staff to enjoy their shift rather than the patrons.

We went to Browns over 5 times during our week-long stay in Victoria we loved it so much. They were very accommodating to us with our last-minute reservation requests and fit our large party in multiple times. We love the thai chicken soup and delicious happy hour drinks! We are officially Browns converts haha.

Writing for friend for public awareness who had visited brown social yesterday evening for a Mug of beer . After having terrible beer he had soar throat ,getting worse and high fever . He told he was served by a male and was not even allowed to have look at menu. Server offered the beer by his own choice which he believes turned wrong order for him . Now physically, financially and mental pain Be careful

Celeste was AMAZING! We came in and she told us about some new menu items. We tried the beef quesadilla and it was lights out! We ended up getting a second order of it , it was so good! She stayed on top of our drinks and was always there exactly when we needed something. Everything was FANTASTIC! Xo P.S. spicy pineapple marg so yummy!

Excellent place to come with friends and family. Food is great and wide variety of choices. Good wine as well. Overall, restaurant is very friendly and definitely highly recommended.

Just had a culinary experience in canadian cuisine, great value, fantastic service, the orio cheesecake dessert on its own is worth the effort. Cannot fault these establishments.

Waitress was not friendly and she charged me the full amount of my drink even if it was Social Hours.

We have been there twice with my family. Food is good. Portions are big. But service is a little too slow.

We have 4 nights in Victoria leaving tomorrow and have eaten our evening meal here 3 times. The food has been excellent. On our last night, staff members dealt with a difficult customer, who was making us very uncomfortable with their intimidating behaviour, very tactfully.

We had the nacho starter, which was way bigger than we thought it would be in a good way! It was delicious next we had 2 rice bowls. I didn t like the taste of the broccoli the chicken and fries were great though! The Cab-sav was delicious. Our waitress was the best! She was friendly, knowledge and efficient! Would definitely eat here again!

The plate was warm but my food was served room temperature which meant the fries were chewy abd unpleasant.

So my husband and i used skip the dishes to order food on the 26th. I got the blacken chicken alfrado and him spicy chicken sandwich. Everything was fine the the afternoon of the 27th when my husband and i had horrible food poisoning so bad that we had to go to the hospital to get on fluids and stay over night.I can tell you this vomiting for 9 hours stright is not fun. I understand that not much can be done but i want people to know what happenes to avoid the chicken at all cost.

Christian, the General Manager and Amber the Bar Tender are very rude. When I tried to complain about poor service they verbally attacked me and asked me to leave and never return. If you check, other reviews, you will find similar complaints about the service here. This place has the least reviews and lowest rating of all similar type restaurants in the downtown core. This used to be a nice place to go for lunch but now it is mostly empty at this time. Cactus Club, just up the road, is always lively with good service and excellent food. Christian, the General Manager will likely respond to this review as the Joker! Beware!!! He is likely to say I dont remember or we dont have anyone of that name working here. Be assured he will offer an email address to contact him and discuss the issue because he is incapable of personal dialogue and does not want other patrons in the restaurant to hear your complaint.

Ate there twice this week and one more for appys and a drink as they are close to where we are staying They put curling on for us to watch. Great service and great food.

Rude manager and bar tender

Highly recommend this restaurant!! The food was fresh and delicious and the service was outstanding. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly and accommodating gentleman who we presume was the manager. Our server, Riley, was amazing and made our experience at Brown s Social House a memorable one. We will definitely visit this restaurant whenever we are in Victoria and recommend it to others.

Staff went out of their way to make our lunch just as we wanted. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommended

Although Browns has been around for some years now, this was my first visit. Being the first table for lunch, we were seated promptly and almost overserved. The food was good, service was quick. But there was nothing special about the experience. Would I go back? Probably, yes...

Great place to get together with friends or work colleagues

We had a great lunch here. I ate the French Dip and a caesar salad. My wife had Dynamite sushi role and asian salad. They were all delicious.

I always love coming here. Its perfect for date night. Its a pub, but nobody is yelling, nobody creepy, just a good place with great food and drink.

We had our new years here and even went back for the countdown. Our server was awesome, the food is typical lounge food and it was loud but thats to be expected.

We like this place. Easy walking distance from most places down town. Usually good food. Parking: Its best to walk to this place as there is only street parking and its tough to find a spot. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy assess, no steps, ground level entrance.

I quite enjoyed this restaurant. We were well attended to by our server. The food came at a decent amount of time after ordering. The music was a good mix of genres (not heavy on any particular type), and at a good sound level. They just kept coming with refills on my cola.

We were on a mother daughter 4 day getaway, after an exhausting day we were unsure of what to have for dinner as it was 2030 already. Checking a map we found our condo was in the same building as Browns Socialhouse. The lovely hostess told us we could sit at the bar to decide & Josh could take our order. We decided on the blackened chicken fettuccine Alfredo & some dry ribs. BEST DECISION EVER!! we went back up to the condo to eat, it was the best chicken Alfredo we have ever had! To be honest, it was so good the following night we placed the same order again & once again we were not disappointed. The staff is beyond phenomenal. SUPER friendly, understanding & kind Cannot wait to go back down on May for another medical appt & Browns Socialhouse will DEFINITELY be a dinner stop

Nice ambiance, good food. Being French, I was impressed to see other sports than soccer (football pour les intimes) at the TV. Not too overpriced.

Service was just OK until the server put a straw into my beverage with her bare hands. The fries were tasty but quite expensive for what was probably half a potato. I probably wont make it back.

Went looking for a place to have brunch. Had immediate seating which was a bonus on a Sunday morning in Victoria. Food was good and plentiful, but the potatoes were undercooked. Server was very nice and attentive.

Browns is a good quality restaurant that offers a variety of dishes and drinks with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere...HOWEVER, the one downtown has become an absolute tourist trap like much of the surrounding area. Prices have become too high and unfortunately, I wont be returning because of that. $26 for a bowl of rice with some chicken and veggies is insane.

Food is well executed, menu is varied but not overly creative. Moderate portion sizes. Quick service, easy spot for company lunch.

Superb service, hard working staff, there was a small error with our order and they remade the dish right away. My fish tacos were awesome, super filling and the house salad had a great tang to it. My wife really enjoyed the chicken sandwich, great breading on it.

Met a friend for happy hour. It would have been nice to have another choice of seating. So busy and plenty of hub-bub noise close to the service area and kitchen. Social white wine, gluten free dry ribs and chips and guacamole. Yummy The server was great. The bathrooms were clean.

My friend and I ordered through the website, and when we came in to pick it up, a very friendly server got it for us right away. While she was fetching our order, another very friendly server greeted us and offered to seat us! Very fast, amazing food (best chicken fettuccine alfredo Ive ever had), and the atmosphere we saw was very nice. They even wrote a little Enjoy note on the bag :)

I have been coming here for over a year with my Co-workers and its still the best Happy Hour. The Staff are extremely friendly and we consider this location our second home. Management has been nothing but amazing every time we are in. Id list all the employees by name in this review if I could to thank them. 100/100. Thanks for always treating us so good. I recently visited Browns Social House and sat at the bar. I ordered a few drinks and some food, and when I mentioned to the bartender that I was going out for a smoke, I offered to pay before leaving. Instead of simply accepting my payment, the bartender made a rude remark, implying that I might not return. This felt like a form of microaggression and left me feeling offended. Its disappointing that the staff at Browns Social House could benefit from some sensitivity training and better customer service. The overall experience was average, with the food and service not quite living up to expectations. I hope that the management will take this feedback seriously and consider addressing these issues to create a more welcoming and respectful environment for all customers.

Wonderful experience for a late evening dinner last night. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and butter chicken curry. Both were delicious! The chicken was super crispy and flavourful, served with a spicy jalapeño ranch sauce. The butter chicken came with a fantastic cilantro chutney that was out of this world. The butter chicken was the best we ve eaten in a pub. Our server was friendly, prompt and attentive as well. Will most definitely come back.

Ive never had a problem with this place. Foods great. Service is great. Its always packed because theyre awesome. My rating is based on not just one visit but dozens of visits from the past. They know how to work as a team and the standard of customer care is always held high.

Limited beer selection, standard fare pub food. Adequate. Nothing more, nothing less.

We had a fantastic experience last night. We were a group of 11 and from the moment we sat down till the moment we left our interactions with the staff and the meals ordered was perfect! Thank-you for being awesome.

Food was good. Service was ok... Lowering the score a bit because they put me at an awkward table sandwiched between a corner and two larger tables. They shouldnt have a table here, as if someone is seated there, no one can get in or out of the surrounding tablea. Not to mention this table also has a plant over my face that kept getting in the way of your food.

Considering its smack in the middle of downtown Victoria, I was surprised at how affordable it was. The atmosphere was nice, albeit quite crowded, and the servers were all extemely friendly; even the ones not serving us would stop to say nice things and check up on us as they walked by. I had the smokehouse burger and it was very very good.

Greeted and seated by a friendly gentleman.Our food was delicious, had the brunch, Cornbeef hash and a Bowl. The mimosas were so fresh I had 2. Clean and cozy.

We went to browns social house. Had a very nice time, enjoyed the food. The nachos are impeccable. I got the opportunity of having Ella as my server. She was very sweet , and funny.

There are a few Browns in town, we went to the one downtown which has good location, staff are friendly, allow reservation and more importantly it is not too busy as the one uptown. Highly recommend.

I frequent this location for so many positive reason s! The food is consistent and customer service is out of this world. I love to sit at the bar but tonight I decided to request a dining area to have drinks and drinks with my pal. This has to be one of my best decisions of my adult life. Seated in Pippin s section was grade A. Her attention to detail is overwhelming but what I need to share is her professionalism and positive attitude! I highly recommend everyone comes in and experience s the high quality of food and amazing service! Thank you!

Roshini served my mom and I during lunch and let me say that it was some of the best service we have ever had. She was so sweet and made our day - even gave us a free brownie just because! Great help from the kitchen and. management too as I have an allergy. Did take out online for hotel stay and the food was tasty and fresh. Ordering and paying was easy and food was ready at requested time. Vegetarian options: A few veggie options for my husband! He loved the burger. Kid-friendliness: Great kids meal for my son.

Used to be my go to neighbourhood watering hole. Used to love it. But the new female manager is incredibly rude, condescending, has no tact or manners, is inappropriate and overly flirtatious with disabled patrons without any shame. Quite mind boggling. Not sure who hired her. Will not return.
