Best chicken in town. Crispy and juicy, and not a soggy bucket of grease like some places. 100% recommend!

Used to be my favourite chicken place. Not anymore. The home cut wedge fries were undercooked, and the gravy was gelatinous and smelled like it came from instant pre mix. The tendies were decent though. The Mac Salad is sweet now which I find strange... I will not be eating here again. Sad. It used to be amazing.

The attendant was unfriendly and their famous crispy ginger fried beef had more sugar and batter than beef.

One word: Garbage

There is a good reason why this place has been around forever, and have a massive following. If you havent had chicken on the run you are missing out. I cant really explain, you just have to try it. Fries are pretty awesome too.

Probably the best fried chicken in town if you are judging it on its own with no sauces. I like my Korean fried chicken, but If Im in the mood for some good straight-up fried chicken I order from here every time because: A) the chicken is always piping hot, they have their packaging figured out 100% B) its always well seasoned, super crispy and literally never soggy or greasy C) it just tastes good and cooked fresh to order, not sitting out under heatlamps drying out Wish they had better side options... like mashed potatoes, or a bacon & onion potato salad, or Mac n cheese, or biscuits... the onion rings are good, the wedges are alright. It would literally take the crown for best fried chicken places if they did that!!! Id probably die from eating the food too much If that happened.

This place is a level up. Awesome food and very friendly service.

Chow mein is not what people come here for so we probably ordered the wrong thing. If you google chow mein, what we got was not what you would see. 4 to 5 pieces of shrimp at best and barely any vegetables. We came here to feed my toddlers with a last resort meal after a playdate at the nearby park. Basically all our money went towards noodles that are cheap at Fairway that we could have cooked ourselves at home

Its been around since the 70s. Hard to beat!

Probably the best traditional greasy fried chicken youll find on the island. However, I find everything (especially the fries) too salty, and I like salty foods.

This used to be our favorite go to place for chicken, but the quality has gone down while the cost has gone up. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

So Ive always only ever ordered from the Chinese menu, never the chicken menu. I was blown away by the wedges!!! The chicken is great and all, but if you dont get some wedges and gravy with your order, youve missed out.

This was my dad and Is first time trying the chicken here and it has a different taste than the other fast food places that have fried chicken and the chicken here doesnt have too much fat and grease due to it being broasted and my dad loved the ribs and the chicken wings were good as well Definitely coming here whenever we want to have good chicken I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have good chicken

I have been driving by this place for more than 50 years and I finally had their takeout. Ginger fried beef, sweet and sour lean pork and chicken chow mein. Fairly vanilla order, but everything was excellent. As advertised, the ginger beef was the best Ive ever had and slightly different with a light battered coating. Price was very reasonable and good packaging kept everything hot for the short drive home. Friendly staff and easy online ordering. Good covid measures. I will definitely be back!

I have not had such a disappointing ginger beef. Where s the beef...where s the taste... ? No ginger flavour...no spicy! The Black bean garlic veggie....fresh veg...but no flavourful black bean sauce standard in this dish anywhere else I ve purchased. It was veggie soup! Very unsatisfactory Asian quisine...stuck to fried chicken !

Best fried chicken around! I always expect breast meat to inevitably be dry at some point from any place but this place, juicy, moist, tender and a great crunchy outside...EVERY TIME! Battered wedge fries are a nice touch, one of a kind and it cant be beat!

Not sure what is going on, but the last few times we have ordered the chicken has been barely hot, and the pieces have become so small its like the some of the pieces are coming from cornish hens. Clearly theyre not but something is definitely not right with the chickens theyre using. This is normally my absolute favorite place to get chicken from but I dont know if Im going to order from them again. I hope they see this and remedy whatever is going on.

Chicken and potato wedges

The chicken ok. The battered wedges are weird and kinda flavorless, the coleslaw is very sweet. Just try the chicken.

This was WAY too salty. I tried pulling the skin and batter off just to try the actual chicken but even that was too salty. The wedges are heavily battered (?) and fried and salted, the gravy is too salty, and then funnily enough, the coleslaw is almost flavorless and could have used more salt?? They have great reviews so I guess people like them! Its just very much not for us. We didnt come close to finishing and now need to go get something else for dinner.

Very crispy crunchy chicken! Loved it. Plus the wings were amazing. Delicious flavor. Wonderful packing so they dont lose their crunch too. Smart. Ill be back.

Terrible. Popeyes does this much better. Unfortunately not available in Victoria. Horribly skinny chickens and totally over salted and overpriced. Omg, I never go there again.

Food was flavourless and overly greasy. It tasted like they completely forgot that season exists. Battered fries are a neat idea but these were so greasy they were almost inedible. Would not recommend.

They are Indescribable. Wash it all down with the a cool, crisp Coca-Cola classic and there you have it - Victorias best take out fried chicken.

Ordered 50 buck worth of these feeds... smashed them back whilst on the rark... it was a fat munch ! The gravy was on !

We had the fried chicken while also trying some items from the Crown Palace menu. Despite the raves, didnt find this fried chicken as the best we have had. The chicken was juicy and tasty, but the fried batter and skin was too greasy for our taste. Wouldnt go out of my way to have this again.

Didnt get chicken. Got a Thai dish and sadly there wasnt much flavor. It was a very generous portion but not quite what I was after. The staff is very friendly and it was very quick. They even brought my order out to me in the rain. Im giving them another shot just with another menu item.

Gotta Love Chicken on the Run!! They have a unique method of frying their chicken that results in a really crispy, very tasty wing. The must marinate them for a really long time to get the flavout that deep. Highly recommend!!

Chicken on the Run is run out of the same kitchen and building as Crown Palace, a Chinese take-out place. The broasted chicken comes in big pieces, has a crispy batter, and is moist inside. Well-seasoned and very tasty. (Regardless of the name, it s basically fried chicken.) Accompaniments like coleslaw, onion rings, and gravy will significantly increase your bill and are not great. The fries are battered and not crispy. I typically just order chicken by the piece.

Really tasty fried chicken. But the real star is the chicken wings, the spicy dusted ones might be the best Ive ever had.

In my opinion: worthwhile. At the very least try it for yourself. Im writing a five star review to undo some of the damage these negative reviews have caused. This is not the greasiest chicken, their gravy is real gravy, and their battered fries are great and crisp. [and whats more they continue to crisp in the oven because of the low oil content] I started to ordered from here just after the new year 16 and have steadily treated myself once a month for four months now. I always get twin pack, regular fries, large gravy. EDIT: REVIEW CHANGED TO 4 STARS UNTIL OLD DUSTY WINGS RECIPE IS BACK. PLEASE NOT SAUCY. PLEASE BRING BACK DUSTY HOT WINGS.

Best fried chicken Ive ever had, hands down.

Love this chicken, but the only complaint we have is the last time we ordered the chicken it had clearly not been marinated for long enough. It didnt have the flavour or the look of the regular chicken that has gone through their marinating process. This has only happened a few times in over 30 years of ordering from here. It is the best chicken on this Island that is for sure!! Just a little reminder to follow the original recipe. It is a little disappointing to not have the taste when you crave it.

Whats not to love about this place? Their chicken is delicious, their spicy hot wings - even better. Succulent juicy chicken with a scrumptious exterior, has a truly satisfying crispy bite. Everything is made from scratch and you can really tell they have perfect their recipe.

Delivery. Chicken was hot and fresh and right on time (ordered online 1.5hrs ahead). Chicken had great flavour and loads of crunch, and some of the pieces were HUGE. Wedge fries were battered (not really my style) but werent overly greasy, had a lot of crunch, and were flavoured nicely. Tad too salty, but no big deal. Coleslaw tasted fresh and crisp, personally I like larger chunks of cabbage, not finely diced, but again thats just my style :) Havent ordered from here in 3-4years, but Im super happy I remembered about this place again. Will happily order again :)

called in to order chicken and wedges for pick up and the male that I spoke to took my request for wedges and chicken. He mentioned that they had a special which was $26 for 20 wings. I specifically asked him if it were possible to spilthalf of the order into regular wings and the other half into spicy wings and after covering the phone for a few seconds (I am assuming he is asking someone else) he came back to say that it wouldn t be a problem. I eventually show up to pick my order and when I go to pay, my order total was $15 more than what was quoted over the phone!!! I asked the young woman behind the counter why this was the case and after going over what I ordered, she proceeds to tell me that they do not split the orders for the $26 wing special. I then advised her that I spoke to someone there that took my order and they said that splitting the order into half regular/half spicy would not be a problem. She then replied that this was not possible. Let me note that she at no time turned around to ASK anyone else working there as to if they told me this while taking my order over the phone, she just simply wanted to over charge me. If this is how they treat their customers, I will take my business elsewhere!

Absolutely love chicken on the run . We stopped eating fried chicken for a while after some bad experiences from KFC then we tried chicken on the run at a friend of ours home . Since then this is been our goal to chicken . The people that run it are fantastic the delivery guys are awesome and the chicken speaks for itself crazy good

Dusty hot wing recipe has changed, wish I had known before I ordered. Now they are just regular wings with hot sauce thrown on them and end up soggy.

This place has been around forever and for good reason. I remember getting on my bike after mom gave me money and peddling my butt to the store to get my special treat dinner once a month. This is one it was 7 years old. Im over 50 now. That this place has had the longevity it has is Testament to the constant deliciousness and uniqueness of its food. Even after it changed hands the new owners kept making that delicious, mouth watery do anything for chicken recipe. And bless them and for that. Each order is made to order. So its recommended that you call ahead 20 minutes of when you want to pick up your food. This is one of the ways that is place insurers that you were meal is hot, Juicy and delicious.

My favorite chicken restaurant on the island so far. The hours are a bit weird as far as restaurants go, but the chicken is then best Ive ever had and the sides are mind blowing.

Ordered from the Chinese menu, chicken with noodles, had a smell to it like when u leave it on the fridge and its about to expire I did not eat it my girlfriend did and got sick. Wont order from them again, fried chicken Is ok but very greasy.

The chicken: crispy, under spiced, juicy, fresh. The fries: highlight of the night, chicken fried fries, triumphantly crispy, the cutting edge of wedges. The coleslaw: coleslaw.

I ordered 45 minutes prior so good was ready on my lunch break..... Had to wait another 15 minutes for food..... Also, what are those fries?! Sweet Jesus I ate one and felt my Life expectancy shorten right there. Chicken was ok......... Sadly KFC still wins. I just want good fried chicken.

Better than KFC. Chicken is crispy but moist on the inside. Fries are well made. Even after being frozen, chicken and fries remained crispy after re heating in an oven. Chinese food is available. Easy to find. Free parking. This is not a restaurant so there is no servers. There are tables and chairs available for you to seat and eat.

Top quality broasted chicken...juicy and full of flavour...youll neber go back to KFC once youve tried this place!

The fried chicken is the best. Strangely, their flag item Ginger Beef threw me back to the 80s kind of Chinese food. Stick to their chicken, unless you crave the 80s sticky and overly sweet chineese food experience.

In Victoria, you dont have a lot choices for fried chicken. Chicken on the Run is definitely better than KFC, however its more expensive as well. If you are looking for a decent chicken dinner, Ill suggest here, if you just want some cheap fatty food, then probably KFC is good enough. By the way hot wings here are really good. Breaded wings with special spices, taste like Szechwan spicy chicken, juicy inside.
